Steins;Gate: The Movie - Load Region of Déjà Vu

(Spoiler free review) This movie takes place right after steins;gate and it's almost as good as the show. The movie answers very important questions that weren't answered in the original show. It also brings back returning characters such as Okabe , Kruisu , Daru Etc. The reading steiner is finally explained in great detail and characters are more expressive in the movie over the show and we get a whole new look at the character Kruisu. If I had to say one thing I like about this movie is the pacing of it every scene feels natural and nothing feels out of place. For how much I like this movie I still wouldn't say it's better than the show but it almost is. The ending is one of the best endings I've ever seen and wraps up the story nicely with a wholesome conclusion. (Conclusion statement) Well I know I was kind of all over the place with this review but basically you need to watch this movie if you have seen the original show because it continues the story without ruining the show like most anime movies -_- but seriously I think this ending is alot better than the shows and it gives alot more context for the events that transpire in steins;gate. ps. tuuu tuu tuuu ^_^

This was indeed a very interesting ride, and even though it wasn´t as emotional wild and perfect ride as the original series then this was an sequel which did a very good job in being original and still very faithful to the original series! And it needs praising of being a true sequel and not just being a somewhat spinoff, weird fanservice OVA or just summarize of the series itself. And I must say that I love it for its new angle and being very philosophical especially about ethics and morale. All the rainbow faeces of the Unicorn - the good things - Being a true original sequel without being dumped down or anything, but being truthfully faithful. - Kurisu Makise being the main protagonist which really gives us a chance to really get to know her in a different way than before. - It is a great story with a interesting plotline, it might be a little bit slowpaced but not too much. - Of course great animation and a different soundtrack but with somewhat the same feel to it. All the hurtful.... cringe! - The cons - This plot is good and original but still in some way not that deep which made it quite predictable where the original series was much more surprising. - yeah that is pretty much it ^^ So yeah for every steins gate fans this is indeed so much recommended, I really don´t need to say that much, it is an great sequel! ^^

Looks can be very deceiving, because this show looks every bit as good as the original series its "derived" from. Unfortunately this movie is a joyless mess, a head-in-the-clouds follow up to a fantastic sci-fi anime, a husk that leans on tired cliches and worn out tropes where the original went out of its way to break down and rebuild those same cliches and tropes. Where Steins;Gate was clever, creative, consistent and subversive, Burden of Deja Vu is just that: a burden. The story is based around a contrivance: A year after the events of the OVA episode, Okabe is disappearing for some reason, and when he does so the entire world line shifts to make it seem as though he was never there. This is never explained. At no point does the movie make even passing mention as to why this is happening and why its happening now. Kurisu, with the help of Suzuha, is the only one with even a passing shard of knowledge that Okabe ever existed. Once this is established (Which takes thirty minutes for some reason), the movie spins its wheels for the better part of an hours, with kurisu going through the same "I love you, Okabe"->"Ill do whatever it takes to save Okabe"->"But Okabe doesn't want me too..."->"We have to forget about okabe." four times. Rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat. Rinse. And. Repeat. Never mind the fact that the Kurisu from Steins;Gate (The real one) would never spend this long on this. The real Kurisu, the take-charge no-nonsense caring loving awesome Kurisu, would've wrapped up this nonsensical plot in ten minutes flat and then gotten a bottle of Doctor Pepper to celebrate. Instead, Kurisu is reduced to a sniveling shadow of her true self, all the prop up a tsundere arc on her for no goddamn reason. The real Kurisu had tsundere elements, yes, but that was more a case of some of her personality traits lining up with the trope, not being written to purposefully fill a tsundere checkbox. Burden's Kurisu is the most basic stereotype of a tsundere character possible, to the point that she's barely recognizable as the same character. Sound is fine, the sub actors do a fine job. Music is leaned way too heavily upon, which just makes the fact that this movie's soundtrack is sub-par all the more noticable. Then the movie ends with some esoteric, nonsensical reflection upon okabe's principles, before capping off with an admittedly pretty cute line: "Hey Assistant, how's about you give me my first kiss back?" This line and, surprisingly, Moeka are the only rays of hope in this travesty of a movie. TL;DR: This movie is garbage and has actually soured my opinion of the series and its creators, and makes me sincerely worried for Steins;Gate 0. Avoid at all costs.

"El Psy Kongroo" has finally returned for one last finale (this is the official end to the series) and boy was it worth the wait. As an absolute lover of Steins;Gate (I'm possibly biased), this was a very fulfilling and emotional conclusion to the series and really did a good job of tying up loose ends and plot holes that still existed. As the original Steins;Gate was a story about the journey, struggles and decisions of Okabe through time, this movie gives Makise (one of my favorite tsunderes) a turn to shine and really emphasizes the feelings and conflicts of love that the current Steins;Gate world-line Makise was facing that were only touched upon in the OVA. The continued development of the romance and the true revealing of feelings between the two time-crossed lovers were a treat, and the creators were able to give a more in-depth explanation of the reading Steiner ability and deja vu effect. I and, more importantly, Makise could also finally understand the pain that the current Okabe was still going through even though he had "saved" everyone which was a critical development in my eyes. I also really liked the difficult struggle between the "scientist" Kurisu and the "woman" Kurisu on the decision of whether to risk saving Okabe against his "wishes". The movie could have maybe touched a bit more on the other characters, but in 90 minutes, the resolution of the story between Makise and Okabe is the most important thing to nail down (and they definitely accomplished that). It starts a bit slow (as do all Steins;Gate related things) but the emotional pay-off is well worth it in the end. You definitely have to have seen the series and OVA in order to get any of this. I loved the movie and it's a must watch for anyone who has seen Steins;Gate. This is the end that we have all been waiting for so don't delay and watch this immediately. Here's to one final goodbye and "tuturuuuu". 9/10

Warning- Minor spoilers well explaining the plot line (very minor) Also only read if you have already seen Steins;Gate for this is a continuation of the original series. If you have not seen Steins;Gate go watch it and then watch this If you were to disappear would you be remembered. That's the overarching theme of Steins;Gate: Fuka Ryouiki no Déjà vu. An outstanding anime needs a great story supported my memorable characters that you can relate too. Steins;Gate as a series is known for that. PLOT- Steins;Gate: Fuka Ryouiki no Déjà vu is a continuation of the Steins;Gate, the series. As you know from the end of Steins;Gate Kurisu Makise had retained some memories of different timelines. So she more than anyone notices when Okabe disappears. In order to keep the timeline unaltered Okabe needs to be forgotten. The jist of it is he'll be in a world all by himself, but everyone will be ok, and the changes he made will continue on. Kurisu, who loves Okabe, wants to change the world line and save him, but Okabe goes all serious and tells her not to, and that it's just to painful. OVERALL- This continuation, and or movie, lived up to my ridiculously high expectations. Had it not lived up to the original series ..... Never mind. So anyway Okabe isn't in this very much, and it's more sad then funny, but you get a larger amount of feeling and character connection. Just like in the original, regardless of the line the characters personality's stayed the same, and that's to be loved, and the overall atmosphere that Steins;Gate had is still very present. Steins;Gate: Fuka Ryouiki no Déjà vu tied up all the loose ends, and left a much more satisfying ending. Just like the original this one gets a 10/10.

Spoilers for the original anime, no spoilers for the movie. Steins;Gate The Movie is a heartfelt send off to the "main timeline" in the original series. It tries its best to put a neat little bow on the series, and mostly, it succeeds. Where it doesn't succeed is when it defies established canon, such as bending and changing time travel mechanics or having characters act a bit heightened for the sake of the scene. The latter is a very small gripe and only happens in the beginning; the best example of this is Kurisu acting a lot more emotional from the get-go. Along the same lines, there were a couple of moments where characters just conveniently had certain objects on their person at a time or place where it didn't feel natural for them to have it - nothing too important for plot, usually just something to facilitate a cute moment. There are various scenes like this that are obvious nods to fans, and while I did find them pretty sweet, they did take me out of the story just a bit. Very small complaint for me, but your mileage may vary. Now, the former might be a larger point of contention for fans: this movie did change up the mechanics from the show quite a bit. It's hard to discuss it without spoiling things, but this movie takes some concepts from the show and bends them to serve this new story. Specifically, the retention of vague memories across world lines (déjà vu) is expanded to accommodate the new main conflict, and other rules are changed or broken to support this as the new focal mechanic. Remember how in the anime, there could only be one active world line? Well, that gets throw out the window. Remember how the S;G world line was meant to be free of time travel? Yeah, well, out the window. Time leap limit? Divergence? Bah, who needs those? Out the window! Basically what I'm saying is that you're gonna have to go into this with the acceptance that it's not canon. Once you get past that though, you are in for a treat, because this is a love letter to Steins;Gate through and through. The premise alone is quite good: Okabe struggles with derealization and can't seem accept the Steins;Gate world line as reality because of his conflicting memories from other world lines, causing him to disappear from reality. (Yes, I know that makes little sense according to the original mechanics, but trust me, just go with it.) Kurisu, much like Okabe in the original story, must use time travel to make him recognize the current world line as real so that he can exist in it again. That's pretty much all I can say without spoiling the plot. Things progress somewhat similarly to the anime, but with a focus on Kurisu. This allows us a more intimate look into her character than the series had time for, all while being faithful to her characterization there. Sure, I think some of her reactions were a little exaggerated, especially some comedic moments in the beginning, but they do fall in line with how she has acted at different points in the series. It was also just really nice to get some more of Kurisu x Okabe. While I think the series did their relationship justice, it was nice to indulge in something more focused on their romance, complete with callbacks that will make any fan smile from ear to ear. I don't think this would've fit well into the series, so I'm glad to see it here. And that is more or less where I land with this movie - I don't think a lot of these things would fit organically into the series, but I'll be damned if I didn't enjoy the hell out of them here. The focus on romance, the fan nods, and even the sci-fi concepts--when viewed independently--were extremely enjoyable. If you are able to see this as an independent story from the main series, or can reconcile your headcanon, I think you'll enjoy it immensely. But if you are the kind of person that can't get past the changes, you are safe to skip this entirely. Much like the "Egoistic Poriomania" OVA, this is a non-canon addition for fans who want more, but it doesn't necessarily add much to the series. The series ended in a very satisfying manner, so some might also want to stay away to preserve their sense of finality. That said, I would definitely recommend this movie. It's a very solid movie on its own, but it is also a nice cherry on top if watched after the main series. This gets a solid 9/10 from me, only losing a point due to the breaking of existing rules.

I can't begin to explain the amazement that comes from the layout and pure perfection that is this movie. I was hesitant for so long worried it would leave me unsatisfied with the continuation of a seemingly concluded story. And yet somehow it did not just give itself relevance in the movie but made it so that things in the original story could not fully make sense without it's existence. Just like at the end in his actions with Kurisu, laying out the timeline to playout as it would normally with or without the change in time that existed with and not within itself (I am confusing myself in writing this). In the movie just the same did it show that for Okabe to ever exist he must first exist to erase himself and exist again. While never in time disappearing but at a certain point in time not having existed in the first place. I don't think anything could capture the beautiful hot mess that is the unbound chains that is time as those same chains pull you opposite from where they come from. God I want to rant about this forever because I just watched it but I feel like I'm just not going to stop and it's only gonna get worse. Alright down to the scores. I want to add that I do not hold a personal bias against this anime because despite the fact I am fond of the concept and various theories of time and time travel honestly I have grown tired of the horrible dealings with it in media. So this is just a show I like and I think did it right. Story: 10 I think I have made it clear that I like the story. All throughout the movie I was unexpectedly hooked on it and surprised in how it played out. Even in the ways you know something will have to go for it to resolve it somehow still surprises you with what just doesn't seem conceivable. The icing on the cake for me was the easter egg that came from one of the last things said in the entire movie which however it may not seem so important makes me completely dumbfounded at the absolute depths of the story and just the sheer extremity at which things played out. I don't know how else to put it no matter how I think of it. Art: 10 Just a beautiful art style. From the start I always loved the art style and it seemed very refreshing. And in this movie it looked truly excellent. Everything was distinct from each other and so focused. The lights and shadows were perfect. It just looked really clean. Sound: 10 I'm not sure about everyone else. But I did not pay as much attention to this as I was so focused on the story. But I did try whenever I remembered. I went back and checked too. Each time I felt a very subtle atmosphere from it. Nothing was forced and I think the reason I had to check and genuinely pay attention if I could focus on it was it simply felt so very natural in how it was put in there. In fact I can say with confidence if anything was changed it just wouldn't sound right. Character: 10 Come on, the characters in steins;gate are amazing. Always have been. It feels like this movie...No, actually I can say easily that this movie is the definition of character development. Kurisu had the best development I have ever seen in her and it was great. Okabe somehow got more developed and we got to see more into how he thought...yeah...somehow they didn't make it repetitive. It just works. It always has. Thinking back, the amount of mental screwing this show does I'm amazed it works so well but even in the movie they just did things so well. I like it. Sorry I can't analyse more. Enjoyment: 10 I'm not even going to go into much detail on this you clearly know how much I enjoyed this if you read the rest. If you haven't read the rest and just read this part in hopes of seeing if you'll enjoy it enough for it to be worth watching. Watch the god damn movie, you will not regret it! Overall: 10 Lets check over that again...Um...10 across the board...yep...yep...ok yeah that equals 10. It's the best anime movie I have ever watched that is not a standalone movie. Most people know why I say standalone if they have seen the top charts for the number 1 movie on MAL. But honestly. It was brilliant. I have a lot of ups and downs and will generally like something sure. But I'm embarrassed to say but definitely not regretting that after I watched this I went on facebook and ranted like crazy to my mate (didn't spoil I'm not evil). He is in the middle of watching it right now and it's 12:44am where we are at the moment because he hasn't seen me react in such a way before. Hope this gave you all enough reason to watch this. If you haven't watched the anime and OVA first do so. And remember that alternate 23 and steins;gate 0 are a different timeline...yeah. I'm watching that next. Anyways good luck to you all and I hope this helped.

I haven't experienced a single art piece that made me give 3 10/10 in a row. First Steins;Gate, then Steins;Gate Egoistic Poriomania (Episode 25) and now Steins;Gate Fuka Ryouiki no Déjà Vu. I cannot say more than just wow, wow and wow. White Fox and Nitro+ did it again, they made a sequel worthy of the S;G universe, I don't know how to express my joy. Just starting the movie, those shots, that Kurisu's monologue, and that beautiful Opening song, that was enough to bring my feelings. It was fantastic. The humor with the comeback of Alpakaman, Amane Yuki, Okabe's delusions and his alter ego Hououin Kyoma are just some of the things that make you laugh and enjoy this movie. But the suspense and drama are still there, the same story. Again, White Fox and Nitro+ did it again. Truefully, I have never faced a movie that despite the original story being over, could be so freaking awesome and cool. It was a boom, I enjoyed every single second of this masterpiece, it has a lot of plot twist just as the original story. The animation was beautiful, perfect, how can anybody ask for more? Truly, the movie makes honor to its name. The sensation of Deja Vu was always present for me. It's not about boring repetition, same old same old. No, this is totally different and admirable. I couldn't take that word of my mind. At the end I could only clap and shed tears while i enjoyed another beautiful song, this time as the ending. There's nothing left than say goodbye. It was a great adventure, and it was a magnificent experience, I'm glad I was able to enjoy this story, this amazing and epic story. I repeat myself, this a 10/10 Story: 10 (Spoilers) After finishing the main story (eps 01-24), White Fox expanded it with the episode 25 as the closure, but now it even expanded it with this lovely movie. It has every aspect that made S;G amazing. Humor, drama, suspense, plot, romance. Perfect. Showing us a word without Okabe, how everything would go on without him, how everybody was reluctant to forget him even when they did. A lot of Deja Vus that were the same, but they were not. The thing that Kurisu made the same sacrifices for Okabe as he did for her, was heart touching. That OR204... oh, this feelings...why can't I hold them? Art: 10 The animation was beautiful. The original series animations by itself were amazing, but this is another level. Congrats. Sound: 10 The work of the Seiyus in this movie was amazing. Okabe's words where touching, you could feel the tension in his words. The same goes with Kurisu's, you could feel the pain, the fear, and the joy. Character: 10 Perfect, beautiful. The same characters that we loved. The change of protagonist was really amazing, I have no words to describe how perfect this was. Kurisu was amazing in this movie, so did Okarin. Enjoyment: 10 Every second was enjoyed, every second counted, I have to words to put it. It was a beautiful experience. Now this is all, good bye. El.Psy.Congroo.

This movie is not a last money extract on populair essets created earlier, if you want that you should watch the IBM sponsored shorts. But this one is accually a great extension to the series. I have watched the series, The single extra episode:http://myanimelist.net/anime/10863/Steins;Gate:_Oukoubakko_no_Poriomania. The shorts: http://myanimelist.net/anime/2795/Steins;Gate:_Soumei_Eichi_no_Cognitive_Computing But i havn't watched the alternative ending: http://myanimelist.net/anime/32188/Steins;Gate:_Kyoukaimenjou_no_Missing_Link_-_Divide_By_Zero Because I was happy with the original ending of the series and didn't want it to take the risk of a not happy ending. Before you watch the movie, i could advice you to do watch the extra episode first because that keeps a nice chronological order in the story. This movie is also amazing, if you liked the series this won't disappoint because in my opinion its almoast as good as the series.

If you even glance upon my horribly written review there is one thing that I would like to say first, I love Steins;Gate more than anything else in this material and immaterial plane of existence. Starting off, many of the other reviewers who have rated this movie claimed that it was all just for a money grab. Really? The goal in anything in the business and entertainment world is for profit. Moving on the movie just felt good watching, the number one thing that any person who has finished a show that they had really liked or loved will crave for more. To prevent spoilers and my own personal bias from getting in the way of this review I will refrain from talking about the actual film and the themes and morals behind that can be tied back to the cause and effect relationships that are in the original TV show, but I will say this, if you enjoyed the TV show, but wanted to really peak inside the heads of the other characters and know how they felt about Okabe (especially Makise Kurisu) then watch this movie, I promise you it's worth every second you spend watching the film.

How do you continue something that is so perfectly wrapped up, so beautifully ended? Many anime have tried to make an 'epilouge' to their already perfectly ended series, and botched it. Suffice to say, Steins;Gate: Fuka Ryouiki no Deja vu is not one of these. In fact, it does it far better then any before. Set some time after the events of the Steins;Gate OVA, we see the culmination of Okabe and Kurisu's relationship, carried on from the end of the series and the OVA, and in conjunction with this, the effects of time leaping finally begin to shown on Okabe. The story is not as epic in regards to time travel as it's parent series, but in all honestly, it's all the better for it; it feels more personal. The storyline between Kurisu and Okabe is deeply moving, and honestly made me feel like crying more then any other anime in recent memory. The characters are all the same ones you grew to love in the original series; however, quite a few of them take a backseat to Kurisu and Okabe in this film, but it was a necessary concession; the characters seem so unique, so realistic, the chemistry between the two characters is something that is rarely seen in anime, at least on this level. The art on Steins;Gate was always known to top-tier; the movie takes it to the next level, with truly beautiful art, character designs, and everything else between. I highly recommend watching this in as high a quality as possible; even last thing looks beautiful, I cannot recommend the art enough. Some truly beautiful music tracks accompany this film, all of them fitting to each specific scene. The ending song is a particularly fitting end to the Steins;Gate saga. In addition this, the voice actors are still at the top of their game. If the voice actors weren't this good, I don't think the characters would honestly be this enthralling. Steins;Gate: Fuka Ryouiki no Deja vu is the best possible ending to the story of Steins;Gate. With such deep, interesting characters, such beautiful animation and artwork, some of the best voice actors in the business, and a rousing score, this film will serve as one of the best examples of an epilogue in anime in general.

I am a pretty big Steins Gate fan and the feelings I felt watching this is amazing. Steins gate was perfectly wrapped up and had a good ending. It wasn't needed but felt important. Story 10/10 (Minor Spoilers) This movie takes place in the Steins Gate timeline, after the Anime Steins;Gate (2011). Okabe Rintaro (Main Character) finally reached the timeline where Mayuri and Kurisu lives. But, there will always be a timeline where Okabe doesn't exist. He forced himself into the timeline and he gets flashbacks of his previous experiences in this timelines. His memories get overlapped and slips out of this timeline because he wasn't meant to be here. This time, the other lab members find it weird and feel like something was missing (okabe dosn't exist). Kurisu tries to remember him and tries to bring him back but her memories for is just so faint. Instead of Okabe suffering its Kurisu. She leaps many times to bring him back. The ending was sweet but I couldn't connect the dots about what just happened. Steins Gate as a whole is Amazing, the way the story progresses, the way the character realize, the way they figure out the solution. Its just a GOOD GODAMN SHOW.

Fuka Ryouiki no Deja vu is the ending that we all needed but did not deserve. If you watched Steins;Gate, then you already know all the suffering that Okabe has gone through to achieve the perfect world line that this movie takes place in, a world line in which both Kurisu and Mayuri are alive. Thus, we already have so much sympathy for Okabe. So this story isn't about him. It's about Kurisu. Most movies and OVAs tend to be useless, but I don't think that is the case for Fuka Ryouiki. Fuka Ryouki actually has a story. The new problem is that because Okabe stopped existing in the perfect world line, due to his conscious being unable to adjust to the reality. He was so used to seeing the people he loved die in front of him, over and over again. But with this new problem, there is also a solution that is solved by the character that was always by Okabe's side: Kurisu. Fuka Ryouiki really shows Kurisu's character development and how much Okabe means to her. It tidies up any uneasiness that viewers might feel about the perfect world line since many of us might be expecting things to go awry as well. But most importantly, it tidies up Okabe's uneasiness, having Kurisu welcome him and guide him back into the world. I definitely recommend Fuka Ryouiki because it's beautiful with the story, character development, art, and OSTs (the piano at the climax was amazing).

Maybe this's a bit late for review (6yrs late), however, I'd still want to make this review for someone that might find it useful later and especially as distant feedback towards the makers of this series. **This review/feedback has taken S;G into account/comparison** Story: I'd say that it's quite good, but it got limited by the length of the movie itself, unfortunately. 2/3 of the story was almost all introduction and background. The peak of the story is quite short and rushed. It's quite good, however, compare to original S;G or traumatizing beta line S;G 0, it's almost nothing. This make me unable to reach the peak/climax of the emotion, which I deem it as S;G characteristic. However, I understand that "Time is so sad and fleeting, can't be controlled." so I give 7/10 in this part. Art: I'm not so fan of deep sophisticated art, But I think it's "good enough" for the series. It's the same as original S;G and I think it shouldn't be changed. Given sci-fi plot, things could be made a bit more flashy. This, including its prequel and sequels, could do better. Regardless, it can convey "Bittersweet memories" well. In this part, I give 8/10. Sound: + Voice - As there're not many chance, considering packed, rushed, time-limited story, to give characters ediquate amount of proper expression. It couldn't give a peak emotinoal climax in the same level of its prequel, let alone it's sequels. But it's good enough in its own rights, in the level that story allow it to be. + BGMs - I'd say that they're perfect for the series. BMGs itself have been perfectly used to "Guides the travel toward an everlasting moment". With these in my consideration, I give 9/10 for the sound. Characters: Characters are well design, mostly are from the original series. However, there're some part that lacking, partly, because of the story and time not allow them to reach its potential. Suzuha was too bland, Mayushii was exceedingly innocent and negatively clueless when she stopped Kurisu from rebuilt FG08. These are examples. Making the character dimension seems to be a tiny bit "duller" than what they used to be. However, there're beauty in their own. "Foolish but it's humanity." I give 8/10. Enjoyment: Unfortunately, time does not allow the story to go into prolonged tension and climax. It doesn't give the same intensity as its prequel or sequels did. However, this give a good tint of finishing touch on its own. Along with its prequel and sequels, It's pretty much enjoyable to see how the characters try to "make the moment lasts forever". I give 8/10. Overall: This is another good story despite its time limit. The story of one that "Defy the destiny in order to protect one she want to protect" from being "A drop in darkness, a small existence" in the void. Allow this series to be both "unique and precious" story I'd recommend my friends to watch. Of course, after S;G 1-22, S;G23b, S;G0 and S;G 24. I give this movie 8/10.

People's feelings are memories that transcend time...a quote that will forever be burned into my hippo-campus; as Kurisu Makise would say... Now how would you go about making a movie that not only surpasses it's predecessor by feats unknown to man, but become something more that would have me gawking at my own computer screen...Steins;Gate: Load Region of Déjà Vu is the ultimate answer to that. Our story continues one year later after the events of the original series. We find Makise on a plane back to her metaphorical "home" to be brought onto a whimsical journey into time that Okabe was traveling once before her. Okabe, now being haunted by his past of his time travel antics, is seemingly a mystery that could be unlocked if the right person would come along to do so. Makise slowly starts to realize what Okabe was trying to tell her, and she is fully committed to his raving madness, and maybe even more so. This story has surpassed what I had thought to already be outstanding, and I must admit that the ending to it was a twist... I've never not said that this anime was the most uppermost when it comes to looks, because it sure does give a hell of a punch. I love how the anime looks, and feels. It has a smoothness to it that makes everything seamless. And as for the sound, it was great, but my only gripe was that Okabe's voice in the dubbed version sounded a bit different, nothing too major. And now to our lovely cast of characters. Their bouts are better than ever, and the comedy is all still here. However I would have liked to see more of some characters that didn't get too much time in the main story. But for what we got, I consider it fair. Not much else to say other than the characters still hold their comedy aspects, as well as their valor, when needed. If you enjoyed them in the main series, well then here's an hour and thirty minutes of them! To conclude, I must admit that this did surprise me. I didn't expect some of the things that happened during my watching, and I loved every second of it. I might be pushing the fan-boy deal, but in all honesty: If you like anything about the words time-travel, and like more of what you already saw in the main series, then this movie is for you. It's a great sign off to what was started and we get to see more of what we already loved. Brilliant, arresting, extravagant.

Just a horrible movie. Completely fucked up the original series. I do not understand people that they give him a high rating. The entire structure of the world in the film was distorted, creating it is unclear what. Worse than him only Sora no Otoshimono, the creators of which spat fans in the face, and even money for the show in the cinema was requested. Poor Japanese that went to him at the cinema. Conclusion: The series is genius, but the script of the film was written either by a man who clearly did not understand TV. For this he wrote a complete nonsense that contradicted the series. I do not advise you to watch it. 2\10

After having watched this movie I was able to tell with no doubt that the producers of Steins; Gate wanted more money because the show did relatively well, but they didn't want to spend much time and effort into the making the movie... The plot sucks !!! (But the rest is fine) Minor spoilers of the TV series and the movie ahead : If you've watched the TV series in its entirety, which you really should have if you're even considering to watch the movie, you are probably expecting from the movie, like I did, a perfect plot that makes sense, even though it mind fucks you. Right ? (Makes sense = no contradictions)... Well, fuck no ! The movie makes no sense whatsoever, it's contradictory ! The main "problem" of the movie, which is : "Okabe is hum, mind fucked by his memories that come from different timelines, which makes him "attached" more to specific timelines and the universe tends to MOVE him from one timeline to another(yes, he moves, he doesn't Time LEAP or anything, he fucking MOVES)"... WHAT THE FUCK ? How is that even possible ? It makes so little sense I can't even explain it... I am impressed by the fact that they made a sequel movie, and not prequel or a recap, but the story sucks so much that your, or at least my, entire vision on this movie was "This is terrible".

The Steins;Gate series was one of the most epic anime shows I ever had the pleasure of watching, so I was quite excited to delve into its movie. And I must say that I was not disappointed with this lovely epilogue to the Steins;Gate world line ending. Granted, it didn't have as many darker tones as the series did, and it didn't focus quite as much on Okabe's character. However, these did not take away from my enjoyment in the least. This movie centered mainly on the female protagonist, Kurisu, as she struggles to save Okabe from being wiped out of existence after his jumping between world lines starts to take its toll on him. Even though Okabe does not get as much screen time in the movie as he did in the series, there are still plenty of fun character antics, including banter between Okabe and Kurisu during the first half hour. After that, the plot gets more serious and we find out what the movie is truly about. Kurisu coming to terms with her feelings and Okabe's claims about time travel. Overall, it was a great movie to end the series. And although some people may disagree, I think this movie was quite relevant, in that it did an excellent job of developing Kurisu's character and delved further into the relationship between her and Okabe, both of whom I adore so much :)

I watched the the movie Steins;gate:fuka ryouiki no Deja vu today. Here are my thoughts on it in no particular order. There may be spoilers below, so please dont read any further unless you have watched the movie. I observed certain discrepancies namely The operation of the thought transmitting gadget and how the future changes. Makise should not have any trouble remembering stuff as the memories from the future are sent to her past self. The change in future occurs due to her actions and once the future changes, she will have the memories from the future she prevented from happening and the new future- reading steiner, irrelevant. The Steins gate world line is just another world line where both Mayuri and Kurusu get to live. They make it sound like this world line needs some kind of extra energy to make it stable(it's unstable as such) . Are they saying that it's just unstable to him?i.e. he can't comprehend a world where both of them live together with him and hence he finds it easier to shift into the R-world where neither of them exist??? What does this have anything do with Okabe jumping to R-world line? And why cant there be another Okabe in this world line instead of there being no Okabe in that world? How did what Kurisu do by going back to the past change anything in any way to make him come back to the Steins gate world line? Ok. That takes care of the skeptical views. I totally loved the movie!!! I think that EVERYONE who has watched the Steins gate series has GOT TO watch the movie. It is beautiful and it ends the series very well. The concept of Deja vu was explained very well and its a really intriguing and exciting representation of the same. Its fun to think of Deja vu that way with the aid of the concept of world lines and lost memories. The one issue i felt after completing the steins gate series is that I felt that there is no way that Makise Kurisu can ever love Okabe the way he loves her because of all he has been through but after watching this movie, I felt that this is as close as she can ever get to it. That made me feel really good!!! :P The whole experience was completely fulfilling and touching too. Highly recommend it to all!!!
