When I first watched this show, it was around 2017. However, I dropped it after 4 episodes for reasons I don't know. Most likely because I didn't mind it, but it wasn't something I wanted to continue. I recently decided to go through my dropped anime section and I thought I'd give it another go as I don't remember anything bad about what I watched and I'm so glad I did. I regret dropping this show and after giving it another go has given me much more of an appreciation for it. The animation for the time is actually really nice, the characters are pretty good, the stories it told was entertaining. All of it put together made me change it from a dropped anime 5/10 to a completed 10/10 - Currently I'm in the middle of watching season 2 as of writing this review and it's the same thing, loving every minute of it. I also find it really funny when they find some really rare treasure and it turns out it's not a legendary item, it's actually just something from Japan where Saito is found. The staff of destruction for example being a rocket launcher. It put a really entertaining twist on things especially with the Japanese plane they found. Let's talk Louise: I didn't hate her at the start, but I also didn't care too much for her. This is actually pretty common for me as I'm really not into Tsundere characters in anime as I find the vast majority of them to be annoying. Up until Familiar of Zero, the only one I could stand was Asaka Taiga from Toradora. Louise has really grown on me as the episodes have gone on and she's one of the few Tsunderes I actually quite like now. Overall I've really been enjoying this series and I'm really glad I picked it back up. When I started it, I actually had no idea there was 4 seasons. I thought it only had 1. I only found out because of MAL. 10/10

Again ... how the heck is this anime on all the "best isekai" "best romance" anime lists? Ok just start with the good things first: animation (that's all) No joke ... the animation quality is the only valuable thing here. The plot is ok but more like meh. Filled with cliches. SPOILERS ahead: To be perfectly true i really enjoyed the isekaied soldier/weapons line. That was great. BUT. The characters are like the ones in those cheap soap operas. There will be no real character development, just the cliches (forced as heck). There is no single character worth to mention. The MC is a simp, totally unreasonable, maybe some brain damage from the portal? The MC "heroine" is a whiny piece of human junk. I know it's just a fantasy, but even after the last episode i can't really identify the genre of this series. Like there is no real romantic development, no great fight scenes with consequences, they do not reveal much about this world or the history of the MC, the plot goes nowhere. Feels like a series of filler episodes. "best romantic anime" my arse ... there is no likable character in the entire story except the familiars and the perverted old guy. :D When i fist saw him in a funny scene i was hoping for some trash humor but no ... not even some guilty pleasure for me. The music is nothing mentionable either. Don't believe the big anime list web pages, doesn't worth watching at all.

Before I start, I would like to say that this review will cover all four seasons of Zero no Tsukaima. “First kiss kara hajimaru futari no koi no history.” “A couple’s history starts from the first kiss.” They say (or maybe I realized) that the music in an anime really reflect on how the anime will be if analyzed thoroughly and deeply. And I found myself not wrong with that inference. This first line from the opening song of Zero no Tsukaima’s first season describes the series no more perfectly that what it should really well…be. After surviving through four seasons of this anime, I feel like the most satisfied person I could ever be. Please be noted that this review may contain some spoilers and plot specifics because of the dire need to in order to criticize this work. Like the other anime I’ve watched, there is one problem I encountered: Skepticism. Yes, my own fault for doubting an anime’s quality. I kept asking myself: “Is it good?”, “Does it have a nice plot?”, “Will I regret it?”. In my perspective, asking those will just make you regret it when you finally watch it. But, oh well, anime is a matter of preference. If you don’t like it, then don’t. What’s wrong with me, anyway? “Zero no Tsukaima” centers upon the experiences of a human boy from Japan, namely Saito Hiraga, as Louise de la Valliere summoned him unexpectedly in a world completely different from Earth. Louise is also known as “Louise the Zero”, for she knew not how to properly use any spell. Saito, in turn, becomes the familiar of "Zero", hence the title “Zero no Tsukaima.” At first, they couldn’t understand each other because of language barriers, then Louise cast a spell of silence to shut Saito up. However, because Louise could not cast a spell properly, the spell failed and instead, granted Saito the ability to translate everything automatically into Japanese. Sounds convenient, huh? Set in the fictional continent named “Halkeginia”, I immediately inferred that this series is going to be a long road of comedy, action, drama, and of course, romance. Why? I always longed for anime that has love…set in an another world. Sue me for this confusing paragraph. And I wasn’t mistaken. The story itself has a lot of things in which you can praise upon. It has nice settings, because of the other world thingy, a nice plot, for it makes you wanting to keep on watching. For me, I keep suppressing my eagerness of watching this because of many reasons: school, limited battery, the time, homework, student council president duties, and many more. However, that doesn’t stop me from fully watching this grand anime which has many experiences for me to offer. The story was very interesting. Very unforgettable. Very excellent. I am going to say something that spans across all my other reviews. The story had everything I expected, and I will have expected in the future. That holds true for all seasons. I was never bored in watching each episode as they pass. The art was something to praise, too. The explosions implemented within, the spell effects, the characters, the dragons, the fire, the levitation effects, and the void spells were really worth my time watching this anime. The drawings and the CGI were splendid, that I can’t get enough of it! The character designs that well along with it was also great. Think about the varying designs…hehehe…oh my... I think I’m going to say something I must never do…The varying designs of each character was also well made. From the Great Plains of Halkeginia, to the treacherous mountains of the Albion Kingdom (metaphorically), the only thing I can say, that it was good, watching this. Ahem. I need to clear my throat literally while typing this. It was lively. The art has been consistent for four seasons, and that is also praiseworthy, too. I would also like to stress about the executions of the spells once more, be it from Louise’s or the others, it was great. The executions for the spells were so great, that I am reminded of many more magic anime on par with this series. The music, sounds, and OSTs for this anime was also superb, concerning the themes and the melodies that I have listened to. The timings of the OST were really great and they really time with the situations, be it serious, or light. I would also like to mention the opening, which again, I pleasing to the mind, and if you can understand Japanese (or even read the subtitles if you are watching with them), you can really find the message of the song. Apart from that, I would also like to mention the ending. The opening melody of the ED was… strange and out of tune. However, the meaning of that did not fail to impress me. The out-of-tune melody at first started to become better gradually, until the end. In my perspective, this can signify the development of Louise’s and Saito’s relationship, which become significant in the end. Oh no, if I say more, maybe I’ll spoil. And yes, because I am a fan of Nihon music, I will never cease to say that their music never really makes me bored. Nihon no ongaku, BANZAI!! Although sometimes, I skip some because… well... for the reason that I’ll listen to them later. That sentence totally made me sound like a weeb, didn't it? All songs made their mark within me, and I will never forget their melodies when I hear them play. The characters? As usual, as an anime, there should be a variety. Various character traits (troupes or tropes?) and various personalities. The first season did not fail in showing these split characteristics. The characters did not fail to play their roles as intended by the creators. They were efficient in the development of the story. The main characters were also noteworthy. Their constant quarrels really got burned into my head, as well as the various eroticisms done by the characters. I would also like to note about Tabitha, my favorite character. Her personality is one of the best ones I am looking for. Maybe that’s the reason why I wanted to watch Zero no Tsukaima? Because I read about her in a MAL article somewhere? Oh well, life has its many peculiarities, so let’s leave it as that. Hmm… If you are curious about my enjoyment in my time watching this anime, then think no more. The answer is no-brainer. I really enjoyed its story, art, music, characters, and such. With the excellent combinations of genres, and with the plot implemented within. With the funny and serious scenes, and the magical experiences I have experienced, this anime, from season one, never failed to enjoy me. Truly a masterpiece stretched to its utmost potential. I would really recommend this to people who like magic with romance. Maybe ecchi too… as the anime has lots of it. LOTS.

I have to mention that I only watched this aime until s3 ep5. So the review is until that point where I just could stand it anymore and dropped it. I'll prevent spoilers. It is kinda a wet dream of every SJW fantasy. A male MC which is leashed, wipped and put into chains while still in love with Main Girl. For season 1 you really need to endure ep2...I think that's the point where most ppl just did drop it. And tbh it doesn't get better from this point onward. The same jokes are recycled like 1-3 time per episode. The Male MC looks at a female and will get wipped/punched bloody by the Female Tsundere. Yeah and that's kinda all the interaction they have in 3 seasons. There are a few scenes which should be sad in both s1 and s2 but it just doesn't work at all because you know the male mc will get slapped the next moment by the female mc and that kinda ruins the mood. Every single "serious" moment if you even can call it that is ruined by it and you just roll your eyes in cringe way before it. The action scenes are so badly done it could even be a powerpoint slideslow and it would make no difference. Hell even the most absurd CGI shows did it better. There is no character devolpment over 3!!! seasons at all the female MC is still abusing the male MC in the most horrible ways possible while the male MC is a dumb shounen character which refuses to kill anyone even in a full out war and getting plot armor and even hyper plot armor and a new harem in s3. ;> Starting with S2 the male MC suddenly becomes also a horny douchebag all of a sudden. There is no explanation at all but, yeah good writing. Seems he likes big boobs more than anything else out of nowhere just for the abuse jokes from the female MC. So if you ever want to put a male on leash and treat him like a pet while feeling superiour I am kinda sure this show is just for you.

Moe, Tsundere, S&M, Harem, Fan Service, having any of these elements makes the anime enjoyable. Having ALL of them in one series will make the anime UNFORGETTABLE. I first watched the series when it first came out back in 2006. It was fun-filled, action-packed, full of fan services. There was never a moment of dullness with the antics of Saito and Louis. However, looking at the overall plot, there were a lot of unanswered questions. Things felt rushed to the end. Luckily it was caught up with the sequels to shine more details into the overall story. So if you are looking for a light-weight anime with plenty of laughters, Zero no Tsukaima is something you can start. Especially when it features Kugumiya Rie who voiced Shana from Shakugan no Shana

This is a spoiler free review of the entire series of Zero no Tsukaima. when you watched (or watch) the first season you think "ok that was pretty good, ill give the rest of the series a try". Then season 2 comes around and you think "well once again pretty good, but feels a little repetitive". now season three rolls around and you like "alright how many times are you gonna do the same thing, this is still entertaining but getting ridiculous". But at this point dont make the same mistake i did and put off the last season. I cant really place my finger on what exactly it was, maybe putting all the time into this anime and seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. But of all the anime ive watch (which at this point is about 100) this is the most satisfying last six episodes i have ever seen. it makes you look back at the last three seasons and think "ok, that was definitely worth it, and really not that bad in the first place". Most people who dont like this show cant see past the fan service or repetitive jokes, but if you can i promise it will be worth it.

Ah. Zero no Louise. That one will never get old. This anime is a combination of: - BDSM (Lots of Master/Slave stuff: whipping, humiliation etc) - Magic & Mystery (Normal guy gets dragged into a magician world by force) - Character Development (Hey its 4 seasons of this) - Love & Harem (Lots of it, on a daily basis) Those are the ones I remember. Anyway this anime is one of my favorites. Because of the sheer volume of episodes ranging through four seasons, the series is greatly developed and so is the story. The story is okay I guess, there are lot of shitty concepts like "Gandalf". Really author, you couldn't come up with a better name so you snatched Gandalf from LOTR? Why? How does it even relate to this anime? The guy fights with a sword and doesn't yell "You shall not pass" anywhere. But anyway. IMO the anime excels because of the sheer harem and love story development. The action is good as well, but not to the degree that I'd say its awesome. But the love & drama part? Its non-sense times ten with a scent of jealousy and lots of bdsm. Louise is loud, dumb, proud and very very jealous. She tries to shackle and bind Saito in anyway possible. In every episode there is an angry scene of some kind where Saito is being beaten for the "Ero Inu" that he is and yelled upon. I'm sure he is sadomasochistic, otherwise there wouldn't be 4 seasons of this. Though as the anime matures more and more, so does the beating part of it as well. And because its a harem, with each season Saito's harem gets bigger and bigger but he never stops loving Louise and that's how the anime ends. IMO, this is a BDSM marriage mixed with vanilla standards. Idk if that makes sense, probably not. I highly recommend this anime. It will make you laugh to tears, over and over. But you will also bond with it and hook on it. Despite Louise being a time-bomb and Saito being a sadomasochistic pervert, you will like both of them. And if you don't, well its just not your cup of tea.

The Beauty of This Anime Let me just start from the top... hopefully all these emotions and thoughts racing in my mind will still be there by the time I'm done writing this but. I had not expected much from this show. This, what almost felt to be half-assed show with nothing in it. The only saving grace (that got me hooked) was the ecchi and the early on romance. That is when I had taken this anime a simple and cutesy one, that is what I had entailed for and I had accepted that. Of course... that's when I first started. Looking back now that I have finished it, this show had absolutely been one of my favorites. How the jokeful beginning, although what back then I had thought to be (when i say beginning i literally mean the first episode) god awful had only contributed to the over all beauty of this anime. This is one of the few animes that I felt had wrapped up very nicely in the end. There was no"wait, can't there be an episode where they do this?" Everything had been fulfilled in this anime. The serious moments had only been made better as the jokeful ones made you realize all their hardships and good times together. Making the serious scenes (sigh sorry no specifics) a lot better. To be honest, I'm glad there were this many episodes, around 50. Because with this, you can almost feel the full impact of the entire anime. The love between Saito and Louise, their moments together, how they grew to be fond of each other and literally couldn't live without each other. You could feel the steady tension, the rising emotions and feelings. It had felt like you WERE saito, as each episode (throughout the entire series) had shown you a little bit of their lives. Each and every part, their fights, when they didn't like each other, when they missed each other, when they loved each other, and everything. This had all contributed to the overall feel of the anime, leaving you with this almost heart ache when the serious moments do come. As I'd like to point out clearly, you could feel the steadiness of the anime, like as if it never skipped from one episode to the next. You don't see them liking each other out of the blue for no reason, you reason with yourself how they got to like each other and it makes sense. It's not a surprise when you see them admit and say "i love you" because you could feel the steadiness and pacing. After finishing this anime.... I do believe I must call it a flower anime, or some corny stuff like that. An anime that, honestly, in the beginning you don't even know why you're still watching it. It seems to be kind of stupid. However, when you finally finish it, or the more you progress into it, the more you realize that every past action is simply meant to bring about the beauty in the next. It's a snowball effect, and that's why at the end you're left with a big giant freakin snowball in your heart and you are left in a room alone in the dark, where you're left to realize you just finished a beautiful heart-felt anime. (or maybe thats just me). Here's how I recommend this anime, it will only be beautiful and amazing if you watch this from start to finish. Every screentime ever scene every moment and every everything had feelings and emotions that would later bloom. If you are not going to watch this anime from start to finish. Don't, cus otherwise if you don't, it is the shittiest anime ever. However, from start to finish, at the end of the day, I could not help but add this as one of my favorites. (also, i had added this to an overall of 10 because, the story and character interactions i simply could not help but feel that this anime is worthy of a 10. Also, this is an overall review of the whole anime. I hope this will still help you in beginning a journey of beautiful wonders, just have the time to do so though. By the way, don't stop, it gets better ;)) P.S: So that I'm not called a cheater or whatevs, this is also my review for the last season of this show. However, after re-reading that review I had felt it more potent to place into this review as to hopefully get more curious people to watch this slow but amazing show. Thank you! (sorry for my bad reviews by the way, I had recently started and I usually write these right after I finish the anime, while the thoughts and feelings are still flowing. However this USUALLY leaves me with a biased opinion. However, seeing how there is not much criticism I will be fair and write down what I had thought to be some bad things about the anime.) The Downfalls, of This Beautiful Anime. Although I wish I could say I loved this with all my heart, and trust me I do, I must try not to be biased and point out some flaws in this anime. As I had said before, this anime is very slow and almost makes you feel stupid for deciding to watch it. However, please find the joy in the echhi and the early on romance and you will feel bound to watch more, which is only making it better. This anime is more for the patient and the determined people who have a shit ton of time on their hand. Which leads me to another flaw. I had watched this anime in quick succession as I had decided to watch a long anime having too much time on my hands. This had left the snowball effect to be more effective since it had kept on rolling, if you do not have enough time on your hands, although I do not know if this anime will still be enjoyable. Be wary. Speaking of the early on romance, that is all its good for. The early on romance in the show (as i like to think of it, borderline ecchi but not quite), had saved the anime and hooked you into watching more. However, be wary, when the serious stuff happens and later you wish they would get along. It could quite possibly get on your nerves quite a bit. Also, somehow, I have no idea how, but that corny ass beginning had actually become a later charm of this anime. Corny being the whole magic school and the over dramatized everything. I'm not too big of a fan of magic when it comes to wands, especially when you use terms as "line magician." However, later in the anime as they developed the plot it turned out to be quite a charm of this show. UGH! You have no idea how painful that was seeing how I love this show. I'm sorry, but please let me wrap this up on a good note XD. Last Few Bits and Pieces The story had dug deep into my soul almost. Although that is a little dramatic, how the anime had made a place within my heart by showing all the characters being fond over each other. Also how they grow on each other, I couldn't help but enjoy it and give them both a 10. To be fair I had wished to give the art a 9 but I had felt that would be too biased. Reason for this is that the kiss scenes, omg the kiss scenes, is what almost had been a major charm of this anime. On the art for that they had did amazing, however refraining from biased opinion I'll leave it at an 8. This being that the art did fall off slightly enough to bother me quite a bit. However I did enjoy the art very much of this show. The sound, at first, was horrible. But of course, they had saved the better for the later as later in the show it gets very nice and in fact you want to hear more. The corny playful music played in the beginning when everything was jokeful, being replayed when everything gets serious and tense. Almost like as if to you remind you of those good times, it is all very sad and I could not help but give a 9. okay then, that concludes this review, sorry for the long one but I had felt I needed to get everything out, enjoy! ^

Before you start reading, I will first say that this review is an overall review to the whole series, not only Season 1 in particular. Now onto the actual review: It was a fun watch. It was interesting and funny enough to keep me going, but it's missing something special for me to say that it was magnificent. I have to say though that Season 2 'Zero no Tsukaima: Futaki no Kishi' was the best. It kept everything to a good balance and the ending was amazing. Only to be spoiled by its sequels. Season 4 'Zero no Tsukaima F' was a close second. It tried to replicate all that was good of Season 2, but you can't expect the audience to fall for the same thing again. BUT what Season 4 had was a good and solid conclusion to the series. TL;DR - Wouldn't recommend it, but a good watch nonetheless. Stopping after Season 2 would make the experience better.

This is a quick, spoiler-free review for those who don't have time to read the long ones. It's also my first review and sorry if I make any grammar errors because English is not my mother tongue. Zero no Tsukaima is a funny, simple anime whose only purpose is to make you relax and laugh, without having to think too much about it. The good: - It's funny; - I found the plot to be enjoyable, even though it's simple; - The characters are nice and easy to get used to. The bad: - Not a very well-thought story, it seems like everything was created on the fly; - Full of plot holes; - The characters and their relationships with each others don't evolve throughout the series.

I am going to review all 3 seasons of ZnT. IMO, S1>S3>S2. Genres: Fanservice:7 (More in S2) Adventure:7 (Usually in second part of season) Romance:4 (Here and there, reminds me of Yume de Aetara manga) Magic: 5-6 (Depends on season, but magic is quite badly developed, esp for void magic) Emotional/ Tearjerking moments: 8 (Usually have to do with Louise and Saito) Season1: Synopsis: High school boy gets summoned-> became "Louise the Zero"'s familiar->discover Saito's and Louise's power-> Princess' and Louise's history and related happenings->war-> Louise and Saito fight a war Story:9 Very good, I remembered it is with little fanservice. Perhaps this is the starting, quite a lot of things started got resolved, and story progression was really good. Emotional, adventurous and funny. Note:About Saito's and Louise's relationship, it isn't until the end of S1 that they clearly admitted to each other. So in the end we have a nice, quite conclusive ending. Story progression: Very good Plot consistency: Very very good. (Only S1 has heavy emphasis on familiars) Character:8 Main characters seem defined with character development. Saito, Louise, Tabitha and (the fire girl) Overall:9 Season2: Story:4 Mostly about Reconquista and a war, with some new characters and character development of some side characters. Tabitha and Kirche rarely shows up. Every1 became strange, the girls other than Louise were extremely attracted to Saito from ep1. Unexplained. Louise begins "bipolar syndrome", sometimes sweet sometimes cruel. Fanservice (violent type). Adventure. Uneasy atmosphere between Saito and Louise. Story progression: First few episodes: Very rocky. Second half of S2: Strange. Plot consistency: Good, but a lot of things not explained. Character:5 Character development on Tabitha and Louise well done. A lot of old characters gone for many eps, some new ones go into focus. Hard to tell who are the main characters at times. Overall:5 Season 3: This is probably the most surreal out of the 3 seasons. Story:8 Reconquista were not mentioned at all, although the leader escaped. No explanation. Ring of Wisdom (?) also has no mention. New concepts were introduced but never explained. New characters show up, old characters return, but very little familiars are present, most of the fights are with magic. Fan-service is still quite abundant, albeit being smoother than S2's and more focused on ecchi. Louise becomes more heavily "bipolarised", and shift of mood between her being bossy and proud vs insecure and humble becomes more unbearable. Louise's and Saito's unstable relationship seem similar like those 2 in Yume de Aetara. A lot of parts in the season are very abstract only giving a faint picture of the entire situation. Second-half adventure features friendship and teamwork, gives shounen feel. Fanservice (ecchi). Harem becomes larger. Incomplete feeling. Emotional Tabitha arc. Story progression: Smooth, enjoyable Plot consistency: Very weak, sometimes jumping here and there Character:4 Other than introduction of new characters (which are usually big-breasted) and reappearance of old characters, not much done for character development. Never-seen-characters sometimes take front stage, when we barely know them. Nice portrayal of Louise being insecure about Saito but some things regarding her not explained. Old Osmand only appeared once or smth in entire season. Overall:7 [For all 3 seasons] ZnT basically is about a couple with numerous difficulties due to harem and their personalities. The problems they face makes the series interesting. Somehow, the anime after the first season seems a bit diluted on content, and more concentrated on fan-service and a lighter atmosphere. Some crucial scenes were quickly moved over. Story:6 Character:7 Art:8 Clear art. Advanced techniques used to make eyes look more sad etc. Facial expressions were good. Action scenes were excellent. Sound:7 I love S1's OP and ED, and S3's OP. I like S2's OP but something seems to be missing. Sound effects were average, but voice acting was stellar, especially Louise's and Saito's, since they were in a lot of emotional scenes. Enjoyment:8 S1 and S3 are great, I do not like S2 much. The fights, the comedy, the relationship problems between Saito and Louise were great. Friendship and loyalty are greatly treasured in ZnT. Overall:7 Good 3-season series. Go read light novel, i'm quite sure it's much better than the anime in terms of plot for S2 onwards. If you like the romance in this anime, try Yume de Aetara (manga). PS.The official score is reflection of all 3 seasons.

will always be, for me, the first isekai or mahou shoujo—whatever label you prefer—and the best of them all. It will always be my personal favorite. It has everything going for it, and it starts in a simple, chaotic, and surprisingly charming way. The comedy works really well, the romance develops at just the right pace, and the characters are instantly charismatic. Louise is explosive, Saito is thrown into chaos without any choice, and that strange dynamic between them is exactly what makes it so engaging. And in the end, that’s what makes the series so special: it doesn’t try to be perfect, just fun and genuinely enjoyable in its own way. It’s the kind of anime that leaves you with a warm sense of nostalgia afterward. It deserved much more recognition than it got. Unfortunately, it didn’t catch the big isekai boom during the internet era, but it still made its mark—and that echo continues to live on in the minds of good listeners and viewers.

This show makes me freaking mad. This show features a character by the name of Louis, she's arrogant, she treats the main character as her possession, sees herself as better then others because of her noble lineage, whips the main character when they cross her in even the most minute way to the point were he has open wounds all over his back and she apparently does this so often that she buys an improved whip, she never gets better not really at least, her character development is a lie, and she is never punished. But worst of all this wretched person is the main girl, she's meant to be a tsundere. Her straight up abuse of the main character is meant to be funny, because abusive relationships don't need to be stopped if it's a women abusing a man. Their are other cute girls of course, girls who like the main, but no it's Louis who gets the boy. This little brat with her inflated ego, and her blood stained whip. Is their anything else memorable about this anime. Ehhh not really no the world is pretty damn generic, the main character is so generic I can't even remember his name. They have a few interesting ideas here and their but their nothing to write home about. but the worst part is their need to maintain the status quo it doesn't matter what happens we always come back to the status quo and as I said Louis doesn't improve. Does it look like she's improving? Wait a few episodes and she'll be back to her bitchy self. Anyway the anime is largely pretty forgettable, and it makes me more pissed off then any other anime in existence and I have watched a lot of anime.

And here we goes, another isekai combined with comedy anime. I would definitely say that 80% of travel to another world is a comedy as base. With the same combination of characters like: smart, dumb, justice, easily triggered and so on. And with not too much to expect, we have a random Tokyo dude who is full of social justice teleported into this land of mystery and got himself some juicy power and a harem. Story - 7/10 :the story is actually not too shabby but easily expected, instead of the demon lord fighting, the antagonists are just a guy who tries to get more power and conquer the world. the entire series are mostly illustrated in a light-hearted way, with a laugh or two in every episode even if in the last couples where atmosphere got rather heavier. And personally i quite enjoyed that the story was set in a magic school, it was quite similar the magic school city in the Magi second season, where the entire school was counted as a country if i still remember correctly. Art - 6/10: the art...was ok. maybe it is a tiny bit old fashioned where some character are drawn with overlarge eyes and with pretty weird MC haircut. but its just a opinion, because i know some people who likes this kind of art style better than the modern moe style which i cant really describe. however, on the other hand, everything else looked nice and clean, especially the landscapes and scenery when the protagonist were travelling. Sound - 8/10: despite the comedy harem setting, the anime have some pretty fabulous OSTs. i cant remember where but when i heard that piano and violin duet, it was quite a moment. music can really decide if the scene is good or not, it decides if the scene is sad, joyful or excited. its like watching a depressing movie with random DJ song playing in the background while the protagonist is crying. it really makes a difference if the background music was chosen correctly. Characters - 6/10: As i mentioned above, the characters were built lightly, with a classic personality but without originality. MC who are filled with justice and romance problems and side characters who are nothing but a laugh. i really cant say more about the characters, but you just need to watch it your self to know what i meant. Overall, i gave it a 7/10 which i think is completely fine with it. not high enough to make it overrated but not low enough to cause objection. i would recommend to anyone who just want to watch some fantasy comedy for no other reason but just to waste some time and have a laugh.

This was the biggest waste of my life, this is a show one can only enjoy if one is a super Masochist. I hated this shit, seriously one of the worst female leads ever. Totally one dimensional. Stay the hell away form this shit, trash anime. The worst anime I've watched by far and I've watched almost 160 and that's saying something. I don't get how an anime can be so shit. It's for your own good, stay the hell away. This is first review I've done and was motivated by a snap moment of pissed off state of mind that I let myself waste my time on this pathetic anime,

This had so much potential. If this anime wasn't such a harem comedy type, it could have had such a good plot. I know i shouldn't be expecting anything too great, but honestly, this could have been really cool. If it incorporated a dramatic or more intense serious mood, it may have been really good. What I DID like about it was the fact that he can use any earth weapon, especially the Zero (history buff). well, its decent for being a harem, ecchi, comedy anime, but it could have had a better story. If it took itself a tad more seriously like Chivalry of a Failed Knight did (which was a pleasant surprise), it would be a 9/10 Overall, this is a 5/10 for me, not that great. I'm on the 2nd season while writing this, so hopefully it gets better.

art = meh. I'd give it a 4. Nothing special there Characters: cliche and mainly made to pander into stereotypes. Let's not talk about how terrible the villains are. It felt like no one was even trying to be interesting. Story: most of it is dead obvious, but the way the real world mashes up with the magical world is interesting enough for me to give it a 5. Political intrigue does ensue, sidelined by cheesy plot, fan service and pointless shenanigans trying to make up for the bad characterisation. The romance feels forced for the most part. If you're looking for something to pass the time while being brain dead, go for it. Perfect for little kids, I suppose?

Magic is cool. Everyone loves magic. Having real magic, the stuff of fantasy is almost every child's dream. Zero no Tsukaima is a rather hasty story that looks like it was at first originally to be a much longer first season as most of it is character development that suddenly, half way through, turns into everything is happening and then ending again all within one or two episodes leaving the finale rather lack lusting as you expected something more spectacular than was given. It opens a lot of question and leaves a lot of them unanswered as they go parading around the place, learning of many things but never really question why. Art is fairly par as nothing really stood out in its 13 episodes. colors and cell shading is basic stuff and even the scenery looks made of the same stuff not being something of awe which is rather lacklustering considering how much landscape is shown. Music is subtle but decent. It's used to empower the scenes and convey the correct atmosphere, but not at a pace that makes it stand out which isn't a bad thing. However it is noted there is some stock sample music which is rather disappointing. Sounds are rather basic as reused multiple times which almost makes it seem this anime had a low budget to start with, Characters left a lot to be desired. There is still much untold about the main characters and the only back story we've heard is of an MC's classmate. However the development between the Hero and Heroine is easily seen and steadily grows. Enjoyment was so-so. It makes you laugh but it also makes you wish it would sometimes move on to something more meaningful or interesting. Don't be surprised if you reach the last episode of the season and wonder is that really all there was. It produced such a beautifully large potential story then cut it off at the hips with such a sudden ending

What's the anime about: There is a world where there are two kinds of people magic users Aristocrats) and non magic users (Pleibeians) The anime sets play in a magic school for the aristocrats. In that school there is a girl who gets called 'Zero' because of her 0 success rate on spells. Anyway the second years which she is too has to summon a kind of companion, which is called 'familiar'. She summons the worst possible she thinks, a human. The human has to take care of the mage and they will have fun and 'romantic' stuff. What can I expect: Basically you could expect a great basic story and a bad progressive work. we can say that events taking place are done OK, but lacking in one specific thing: Which is reappearance of events. For example: you get a world saving ring and must wear it at all times and the next episodes it gets ignored, Because that specific thing gets done a lot and I hated that a lot. Also you can expect a lot of fan service and overdone situations. Story: The story of this anime is basically an introducement to the surrounding theme, which is magic and of course fantasy, and a small explainment of characters. The story is OK, but I hoped some more. The pros are in the work of knowledge, they make it so we know the same amount of info as the characters in the anime. That's done well and I got more interested in the anime. Tough the cons is really the fan-serviced environment of the anime, it's just annoying sometimes. Art&Sound: The art and sound are even better then animes that come out these days, and that in 2006, Really good from them. The art is less detailed, but fine, and the sound is amazing. Nothing to complain. Characters: The characters feel really kind of off, the main characters are done good, but one episode characters just lack some stuff. Besides that every character has fan service and are predictable. I feel that the character design lacked, but was okay. Enjoyment: This anime is so much fun to watch I laughed a lot and felt with the characters when something bad happened. From random events to laughable people the comedy part was done really good, But the romance lacked, a lot! There wasn't really romance in this anime just romantic ecchi. If you are here for the romance I wouldn't recommend it. Besides the romance part the ecchi is good and feels attractive I guess. The action in this anime is bad just horrible. But there isn't too much in it. Overall: A hilarious anime with a lot of fan service and great art&sound. Recommended for echhi and comedy lovers.

I'll admit when I came across this anime at first, I didn't like the theme with the whole medieval time and witches. But I gave it a chance, and it had made me come to realize it was just plain amazing. Some episodes had me in tears because of how much it touched me. The romance was just at the right amount. They were adorable. The only thing that bothered me while watching this anime was how many annoying side characters there were, and how many typical girls fell for the main male protagonist. It is a harem anime, so I guess that is to be expected but it was way to predictable and annoying. Otherwise, the action and everything else was well written.
