MOD EDIT: Spoilers below. Captured In Her Eyes is the best movie of Detective Conan. Shinichi confessed that he likes Ran. Ran lost his memory and no matter how Shinichi wanted to appear to her as Shinichi and comfort her...thinking of it just made it harder for him. And also that Haibara almost confessed to Shinichi...that part is really something. The thrill, the excitement, the romance, the mystery being revealed...I really like it so much! It's so painful even for a great detective like himself not to be able to help the one you consider the most important in the world...but because of the unexpected situation he got himself into, he made a really big sacrifice. Shinichi doesn't want to hurt Ran and that made it a lot difficult for him especially when he sees that the only one Ran felt nostalgic about after losing her memory is his picture. And in here, Conan got saluted by a high ranked officer of the police department. It's really good!

Detective Conan: Captured in Her Eyes is often held as a classic among fans for its great characterization and emotional moments. I would argue that this was the first Detective Conan movie to get the format right, as it has more cohesion and consistency than its last film. A lot of the emotion comes from Ran losing her memories after a traumatic experience with the murderer. The fact that Conan can't do anything as Shinichi to help her is a very cruel thing to undergo. But despite that, Ran is still still just as much her awesome self as she was with her memories. The fact that she still chooses to keep a positive outlook after the incident is probably one of my favorite things about her and why I love this movie so much. One of my favorite parts about this movie is the finale in Tropical Land, which is home to some of the most imaginative environments in a Detective Conan movie. Combine that with a well-polished art style and what you have is a movie that's both fun and good to look at. The movie itself, while interesting, is admittedly kind of slow. Having to wait while Conan plays catch-up with the audience is one of the least exciting moments in the film. Also, the case itself isn't that very interesting to solve, with the first clue about the culprit being heavily reliant on Japanese wordplay. It's very clear that the movie was more focused on Ran's amnesiac experience than the mystery itself. By no means is that a bad thing, as a lot of the emotion comes from everyone dealing with her loss of memories. If you are looking for a movie with a great mystery to solve, this may not be the one for you. Captured in Her Eyes is one of my favorite Detective Conan movies. While the case itself isn't much to write home about, the fun character moments and polished visuals are what keeps this movie highly rated for me.

I've seen 750 episodes of the TV Series so the story is kind of familiar, but this movie made a new difference, it may seem like another DC Episode it is indeed not and it's on a new level, at least to me. And of course, the Art is also on a new level like dang, I was completely fascinated by the art, I like it. And the animation made it more fascinating. I'd wish the art and animation are the same for the TV series. The sound fx and soundtracks!! The classic Detective Conan soundtracks provide the old yet intense and thrilling vibes to the movie. Never gets old. Do you know what never gets old? The Characters. The Characters are the same as usual, cliche, fun and entertaining, and nostalgic. I did enjoy this movie, it was fun and exciting. Awesome animation and action sequence, emotional and fun scenes. 8/10

I found the beginning very slow until the wedding reception, where the secrets, the action, and what happens to Ran drive the entire film. I really liked the dramatic part: Kogoro-san doing everything possible for his daughter, the same for Erii, and Sonoko's energy for her best friend. The Detective League isn't entirely to my liking in this film. The introduction of characters and the mystery surrounding the case becomes a bit heavy and difficult to follow if you're not paying close attention. It also connects with Ran and her memories, while Conan uncovers the truth. The villain has good plans, and I think he's one of those characters you don't expect. The animation of the amusement park (based on a real one in Spain) near the end adds a touch of tension and contrast to what the protagonists are experiencing. The character development is excellent, and I know Meitantei Conan movies are usually about the same length, but this one should have been longer with more drama.

Detective Conan Movies Rewatch Before Watching Movie 26: Movie 4 I think one of the strengths of the earlier Conan movies was that the movie presented the case logically and naturally while maintaining suspense and keeping the audience on edge, and similar to Movie 3, Movie 4 did an excellent job in this aspect. The movie began with a serial murder that also hurt those around our main cast, followed up with the eventual stalking/attacks on Ran (which also made the murderer of this movie one of the most threatening ones among DC villains). This was a classic whodunit case similar to Movie 2, though this one felt more personal, with the movie constantly showcasing Ran's relationships with those around her, which was great. While movies are not canon, Movie 4 allowed the audience to take a closer look at how the main characters interact in a non-case setting, something DC fans don't really get to see in most canon cases, and the interactions were endearing. Movie 4 was a fantastic suspense and romance movie overall, and even non-DC fans should have a great time watching it. 9/10
