I just love this anime so much :') i was looking for new anime one day and my friend reccomended me to watch this ^___^ The begginig was exciting and by the end of episode one i just wanted to watch more!!! My favourite character is akito hayama ;) hes mysterious and handome..hehe.. Season one was really funny, i laughed so hard! :D Season two was so dramatic and i teared up so much :'( When Matsui Fuuka came into the picture, (in my opion) i think it made season 2 really interesting. I didn't really like her at the beggining but then i grew to admire her character throught the anime (and manga). This has got to be my most favourite anime ever. Nothing can compare to it~ I've never seen another anime like this! I totally reccomend people to watch this :D Or read the manga, becaus the manga (in my opinion) has a much better ending ^^ Miho Obana did an awesome job at this :)

Although I don't remember much of my early childhood, growing up in the 90s, there was a distinctive "90s feel" of youthfulness and carefree that has stuck with me my whole life. Together with well-known tragedies such the Columbine High School massacre in 1999 and the September 11th attacks in 2001, the 2000s felt a lot darker and sinister, at least to me as a kid. Of course, there have been good & bad events occurring all the time all over the world, and the 90s were probably not that radically different from the 2000s as I remember it, but I bring that all up because "Kodocha" perfectly encapsulates for me that 90s feeling. On the surface "Kodomo no Omocha" or "Kodocha" (I'll stick with the latter cause that's what it's called in the West) seems like a lot of other generic Shoujo school romances, stubborn girl meets polar opposite boy who becomes her rival, at first they cannot stand each other, but over time they get to know each other and develop as characters, eventually getting romantically involved with each other. It's a plot you've probably seen again & again, "Kare Kano" "Marmalade Boy" "Maid-Sama" "Lovely Complex" "Hana yori Dango" etc. you get the idea. What sets "Kodocha" apart from all those aforementioned Shoujo series is just how wacky and absurd it is in its presentation. The protagonists Sana Kurata is an elementary student, but also an extremely successful child actress on the TV show "Child's Toy" or "Kodocha" (roll credits) who falsely believes that her adult agent is also her boyfriend and whose adoptive mother is a famous writer who has a chipmunk living in her hat. But that barely scratches the surface, the 4th wall is constantly being broken in the show, visual gags and puns are constantly being thrown around, one only needs to look at the episode titles to get a taste of the craziness ahead, and perhaps best (or worse?) or all at least once per episode Sana breaks out into a rap song describing her feelings. One of my favorite parts of this show, ironically, is the dub. While the sub is perfectly fine, Laura Bailey's performance as Sana is some of the best voice acting I've heard. She really captures the goofiness & playfulness of the show and character. The only bummer is that because of licensing issues, Funimation only dubbed the first 51 episodes and never got to the last half of the show. Another strong point of "Kodocha" is that despite how silly it gets, it still manages to tackle a multitude of serious themes. The first arc of the show pits Sana against her masculine rival Akito (later to become her romantic interest) but quickly becomes more about addressing Akito's childhood trauma of losing his mother. Various sensitive topics such as divorce, adoption, unrequited love, unemployment, and death are all handled with a surprisingly gentle touch. One of my main qualms with the show is that it starts to go downhill after a certain point. The first 20 or so episodes were absolutely fantastic, but after a certain point the show starts falling apart with the serious and comedic moments starting to cause friction in the narrative rather than working in tandem. There's this one arc around the 40 or so episode were one of the characters is dying, but the second ending song "DAIJO-BU" is so overly wacky and goofy it creates this tonally jarring effect. Also there were some bizarre, and I mean BIZARRE filler episodes, such as all the characters turning into cavemen or butterflies for no reason. Lastly the show can get frustrating, especially in the second half, as the anime seems to be wasting time. It is clear to everyone (even in the show) that Akito and Sana are going to end up together, but the show keeps spinning it's wheeling and going on random detours rather than focusing on the main relationship that the anime started out concentrated on. It felt that Akito and Sana's relationship and development stalled and the anime was simply padding its runtime. I do have one hot take, many fans of "Kodocha" despise Fuuka, a female character who comes in the second half who forms a love triangle with Sana and Akito, as they blame her for halting the story. Personally, Fuuka was actually one of my favorite characters, unlike Sana and most other characters in the show she actually had two brain cells to rub together and plays an important role in furthering the plot in the last few episodes. I did personally find the finale slightly unsatisfying, especially given that you have to watch literally a hundred episodes to get to that point. Overall though I still highly recommend "Kodocha". It offers something different to the Shoujo romance formula, and even to people who do not like Shoujo anime it still offers laughs and cries in plentiful amounts. It has an outstanding dub (albeit only for the first 51 episodes) as well as a good soundtrack and a goofy yet memorable cast of characters. Most of all for me it captures the youthful and carefree feel of the 90s. It is on the longer side (sitting at a 102 episodes) so I personally recommend skipping the filler episodes, but for those with the patience and perhaps nostalgia from the 90s "Kodocha" could be well worth your time.

Kodocha was the first anime ive watched, I watched it because it was in the public library. I was so sad it ended on a cliffhanger, but when i found the manga, i was more than happy. The anime catches the funny moments really well, maybe even better than in the Manga. I think near the end, the anime drifted from the original plot, so maybe thats why it ended. The art style isn't amAzing, but its neat since it was made in the 90s. Im really glad i watched and finished, this anime first. ANYWAYS, its incredible, made me cry, highly reccommend.

So I was watching Kodocha up to about halfway and I had a blast!! it's one of those anime's that just keeps you wondering what happens next, I was thinking about the show as I slept at night. At this time I would've gave it it a 10. But upon completing it I was rather disappointed so I had to lower it a bit. First things first, I went into this anime expecting some real deal romance, thinking 102 episodes should be enough to bring on some real development. So if you're going into this anime for that, I don't recommend it, it's as slow paced and dragged as a 12-24 episode typical shoujo anime in this day. Note it is also involve love triangle/squares. The annoying thing about this anime is they lead you on with the romance, right when it you think it's going somewhere... the anime is diverted in some other direction!! which is a shame since there was so much potential for the romance, Sana and Akito had truly great chemistry! If you are here more for the drama and comedy. This is for you! This is drama and comedy show at it's best, the best part is it's NOT CLICHE. This is what make's it so great, it's quite refreshing. There are very few anime's around that can actually make me laugh out loud, and this is one of them. The first half of the anime was hilarious but as it goes on it does start to die out. The drama is so crazy and silly all the time, the plot twists are so unexpected, I love not knowing what's going to happen next. It;s a emotional roller coaster, you will cry, you will laugh, you will be angry and you will also be touched! The art is old school style, although I think it was good for it's time! I actually like this style because the characters look realistic, like real people. No crazy hairstyles here, and not stereotypical characters to match their hair colour. The characters are some of the best I've come across. They are so funny and unique and some will be like nothing you've come across before. Even the supporting characters actually have more depth and personality to them then you may expect. I really loved Akito, Sana and her mother, and more. There's so much to say about them!! Its rare to take a liking to so many characters in one series. The one thing I wish they didn't have in this show though.. is Babbit. This character makes such unnecessary comments and pops out all the time. He got annoying quick! The sound is nothing to rave about but for it's day I guess it was okay. But I found the same music was quite overused. But the opening song and dance alone was great. After first hearing it I knew this anime would be great. Even 102 episodes later that Op still puts me in a good mood and want to dance along. Also Sana's occasional music/singing skits throughout the show were a fun touch! So I watched the first 52 episodes in dubbed. But actually I never watch dubbed for anything, the voices always sound so wrong and don't match at all. But wow.. In Kodocha they're so good. But it made watching episodes in Japanese later a bit hard - the Japanese just didn't compare. Overall, I was unimpressed with the romance development only to be led on all the time. Also everything was extremely dragged out, you will need to be patient, with all the fillers and sidetracked episodes. The ending also leaves you hanging and incomplete when I was expecting it to be all wrapped up considering it had so many episodes. This show actually had so much potential to go further. But on the plus side, it's much deeper than it may appear, and you will be moved along the way, grow attached to the characters, you will be addicted and the 102 episodes will fly by!

words cannot describe how I feel about this anime honestly. I first watched this anime in 2010 and whenever I feel sad or need a laugh or just want to pass time, this is the show I come too. mind you that this was produced in the late 1990s so the art isn't topnotch but I swear if you give it a chance you'll fall in love with it like I did. it's a slow-paced show that deals with things anyone could relate too; growing up, falling in love, and making important decisions; it really gives you a chance to think and admire everything about it and life. long story short, this anime is perfection and you should watch it.

This Is My First Review so here it goes. Story- It's about this child named Sana Kurata that is a actress but still lives a normal life like going to school on a regular basics. Sana decided to transfer to a new class in her school but everything changes when it's been a week in her class. The Problem is Akito and is friends are wreaking havoc on the teachers and blackmailing them. If they do anything about it Akito will send the blackmail to everyone to see. Sana tries to come up with a plan to stop Akito but fails n the process but over comes a obstacle and figures out a way to stop Akito her plans succeed and Akito no longer is black mailing the teachers but we realize later he acts this way is something to do with his life. Sana helps Akito with his problem and he can't thank her enough for what she has done to make his life better. We realize after that, Akito is falling in love with Sana as each episodes pass. Sana is In love with her manger Rei but later realizes it wasn't worth it because he was in love with someone else in his high school days and Sana allows them to be together. Sana's mom is a famous Writer, that likes to wear kimono's and theses weird hats when she was younger she wanted to be normal but realized their was no such thing as being normal she is very smart, eccentric, wise but has a crazy personality like torturing her editor on the due date of her maual scripts. As the series progresses their is a lot of challenges that Sana has to face but in the end they work their way out some how. Also Since Sana no longer is in love with Rei she has problems understanding what love really is throughout most of the anime. Since Sana is so dense or oblivious she can't even figure out that Akito is in love with her and he proves it a few times and also shows jealously towards Naozumi Kamura or any guy that tries to flirt with Sana. Also any time Sana needs to cry and needs someone to be their for her Akito said that to Sana so she can open up to him if something is going wrong in her life he truly cares for and she can't even notice it. Akito gets mad very easily and can't understand why all his friends can see that he's in love with Sana and doesn't understand why she is so dense and can't figure it out. Eventually Sana realizes her feelings for Akito when she was up in the mountains filming a movie with Naozumi and she finds out that Akito is dating someone. Sana becomes in a depressed state for about a week until her mom comes to see her and shows her how to take her mind off of it. When she comes back from home from filming she tries to keep her feelings bottled up inside her until she is about to cry in front of her friends she tries to leave making up an accuse to leave everyone. Sana runs away but Akito goes after and grabs her arm and they stop running Akito knows something is wrong and he can pick up on it if their is something wrong. But instead of him getting an answer she slaps him across the face and starts running again. But this time Akito doesn't follow her but goes back to his friends waiting at the restaurant. Eventually in the end they will tell eachother they are in love and they will end up together in the end. I the anime on episode 102 it leaves you at a cliff hanger saying Akito will confess to her after he has won his black karate belt. But In the manga a lot more happens with their relationship and the endings so much different if your going to watch this anime also I recommend to read the manga if you want to know what happens between Akito and Sana. Characters- The main Characters of the story are Sana Kurata, Akito Hayama, Tsuyoshi Ohki, Aya Sugita, Rei Sagami, Misako Kurarta, and Naozumi Kamura. Sana Kurata- Sana is a 11 year old actress (later turns 12 on March 7) for Komawari theater troupe Since she was five years old She stars in a show called child's toy and also does modeling, commercials, Acting. Sana is a down to earth, hyperactive, cheerful, short tempered, Fiecre, outgoing, and innocent. Sana also loves to sing and get her emotions out that way which is pretty cool that she can come up with I from her day at school Akito Hayama- Akito in the first couple of episodes you see as being a trouble maker at school and gets away with it. The teachers can't stop him because he has something up his sleeve and the teachers are unable to stop him. Sana figures out away to stop what he is doing. Also Sana finds out something at his house hold and life style at home with Tsuyoshi's help she feels sad. But goes along with their plan anyway. Also Akito takes Karate lessons at her first he thought it as dumb that he was doing at first then he became to enjoy Karate and did on a daily basses. Akito is also a lone wolf because of his behavior after the black mailing stopped. Akito is laidback, pestimistic, sullen(In the beginning of the anime), delinquent, mature, intelligent. As the series progess is personality changes for the better he is less of a delinquent but still can be at times. Akito loves Sushi, Skiing and Sana. I have grown to like his character so much in kodocha I think Sana is lucky to have him in her life he cares and loves her o much that he won't give up. But he dates somebody to take his mind off of Sana but we realize even when he is with someone else he is still in love with Sana. This is why I love theses to together their opposites and they help eachother out of what they lack and work on it together, Akito is my favourite character. Tsuyoshi Ohki- Is Akito's Best friend and rival for Sana's affections but later on Tsuyoshi starts liking someone else an they start going out with them right away. Has a younger sibling, is smart, soft spoken, gentle natured, Angry very easily. Also when some body gives him baked goods he automatically falls in love with them then eventually he will either give up or he will try to be with them. Aya Sugita- Is Sana's best friend she is quite, shy, common sense, angry when jealous, and kind. Also she has liked this boy for a while in her class and he finds out about it and accepts to be his girlfriend. Rei Sagami- Sana's Manger. Is Sana's first love but she just decides that they should stay as friends. Dislikes Akto (Gets Jealous when Akito makes moves on Sana, I'll just say he doesn't think Akito is right for Sana.) Before being Sana' manger he was a homeless person, a drop out college student, and his parents died early. But Sana brings him in to her house then eventually he becomes her manger for her career. Misako Kurarta- Is Sana's mom is a wise person with a crazy side, is talented, Intelligent, Sarcastic. Also has a pet chip monk on her head named Morow. Naozumi Kamura- Is a child actor, and has known Sana since their were babies but Sana doesn't know this to later. Naozumi began his acting career because of Sana he idolizes her and he got his dream to become a actor and see Sana again. Naozumi doesn't just idolize her he is in love with Sana but they only become best friends and nothing more (If it weren't for Akito being in Sana's life I would of liked these two, to be together but I still prefer Akito over Naozumi.) Also plays the trumpet when he gets angry it calms him down. Sana And Naozumi are very similar in what happened when they were babies years ago. (You'll have to find out.) Also Naozumi sacrifices his love for Sana so Akito and Sana can be together which is amazing for he did. Naozumi will always have Sana in his heart no matter what is Sana needs him he will gladly come to see her if she needs it. He continues on in his acting career and does another movie while Sana is taking a break from acting. Kodocha is one of my favourite animes, that I can watch over many times and not get bored of it. I enjoy and Love watching it.

I dedicate my first review to this. Kodomo No Omocha , Kodocha, is a AMAZING ANIME. Don't be fooled by the title. It has some dark points and drama intertwined throughout all the comedy. The art is awesome for its time, seeing it was made in '95. The music is well-rounded. The story, was great, but it's generic. Though, it wasn't that generic back then. I loved it. Overall, I give it a 9.5/10, closer to a 10.

I finished a long time ago! I forget when I finished! I loved it! I am going to watch it again! It looks like a little kid's show but it's like the "stories" except it doesn't put me to sleep and it has comedy! ^_^ I think it's so funny when Sana...never mind! I recommend the Manga, also, because there is more at the end then the anime and they left out a lot of things that is in the Manga. I watched the anime, but I felt something was amiss so I read the Manga after!

Yeah, this show is awesome. It really comes down to it's fantastic lineup of main and secondary characters, all of them very funny and well developed. I think the series (not including the manga) takes place around the course of two years, but you see these characters and the world they live in grow pretty naturally over the course of that time. Especially our main girl, Sana, who's hyperactive and blunt with how she solves problems, but grows more mature overtime. The show is very 90's, more so than most anime from the time period. The attitude, rapping, the style. If you've seen any of the show, you'll know. The animation is pretty lively and the art is solid throughout. The writing manages to balance surreal comedy with heart and good character drama. You see it early on as Sana and Akito's friendship develops, but it continues into future arcs with characters like Rei, Naozumi and later on Fuka. The show is a shoujo but I'd argue most people of any age group/gender can find something to enjoy here. It has it's moments of immaturity, but it always balances it out well with some more mature story lines, sometimes family drama and sometimes with relationships. No spoilers here, but there's some touchy subjects here that most shoujo of today wouldn't normally tackle, while still sprinkling in comedy when needed. Everything that's canon here is peak, although the show does have a lot of filler episodes/arcs, with some of them being genuinely great while some of it faulters. Would recommend most people look up a filler guide to get the best experience. Although it's completely filler, The New York arc that takes place later in the show, while not perfect, has plenty of great moments and does a lot to help develop Naozumi as a character. I'd say most of the filler is pretty decent, although many fans have a distaste for episodes 40-50. The only episode worth genuinely skipping is episode 23, a pointless episode that feels like an insult to watchers and a massive step back for Sana's character development. Overall, a fantastic show. It keeps your interest thoughout and always leaves you wondering what will happen next. The ending doesn't feel like much of an ending, but that's what the manga is for. Still, a continuation/reboot of Kodocha would be great to see. Oh, and I love every scene in this show where Sana raps, both dub and sub voices do amazing in this department.

man....i love this show. i love everything about it. i have both the official licensed polaroid cameras, and a burrucha. that being said, this is definitely not everyones cup of tea. its pretty dated, but if youre ok with the art style and like over the top slapstick humor you might like it. i love all the music in this show and its one of the few anime osts i own (the vocal collection and the bg music). im a sucker for shojo and slice of life, so im definitely biased in kodocha's favor. sana and hayama are great characters - sana especially bc i can easily see her character being annoying but at least imo she never was. its a (mostly) lighthearted series ab kids being kids, and also babbit.

DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT JUDGE THIS SHOW BASED ON IT'S ARTWORK. The art makes this anime look like it is another shoujo with real cutesy and fun characters and plot. I assure you, that is not the case. In fact, this anime is all but that. I have judged this anime before even giving it a try and I'm so sad I haven't seen it earlier. Now, that been said, I can review it. Story 10/10 The story follows Sana, a middle school student, who is also an actor in variety shows etc. ( read the synopsis xD ) Now what makes the story great is the fact that this show deals with some serious life problems and relationships between various people, be it family members, love interests or friends. It is also a show that portrays growing up exactly the way it is. The comedy is good, the drama is amazing. To be honest there are some ups and downs in the story, meaning I would have loved if the story progressed faster at some points ( the newyork arc for example ) , but I had no problems with it progressing the way it did. There is a lot you can learn from this show if you are younger and there is a lot of feelings and life lessons you can be reminded of if you are a little bit older. Art 8/10 Well it is an older anime and I always think older animes could've had better animation, but it is far from bad. I actually found the animation very fitting for this story and I liked it, hence 8/10. Sound 8/10 Openings and endings were ok, exept for that one ending which was very inappropriate, since it begins with 'everything's ok' when nothing's ok xD but apart from that, everything was fine. As far as the voice actors are concerned, all fit very well, exept for the lead's, Sana's, voice actor - I do understand that Sana needs a high pitched voice actor, considering her personality and all, but the voice actor that did her voice was, to be honest, really annoying and I couldn't get used to her voice at all. But that's my personal opinion. Character 10/10 Man, I could go on and on about the characters in this show, they are all amazing. I'll be brave enough to say that the characters are what makes this show, more then the story. You have all the possible characters you'd imagine in this show, from miserable human beings to super strong people who deal with all that's come their way. Characters in this show are amazing and I've come to like almost all of them :) Enjoyment 10/10 Now, I'll say this, I'm a 21 year old women and I have been reminded of so many things while watching this show. Did I enjoy it? Of course I did. Overall 9/10 I have loved this show from the start to the end. Such a beautiful show that deals with human relationships in such a manner. This is a great show, I recommend it to anyone who's looking for a good slice of life, comedy or romance. If you haven't seen it yet, then what are you waiting for, stop reading this review and start! :D

Okay so first thing's first, Kodomo no Omocha or 'Kodocha' for short is an anime that goes over lots of topics, and successfully manages to get the main point into people's easiest understanding. The events that happen through-out this anime is true to life and does not go easy on the drama, it isn't afraid of venturing in to what might truly happen and that is what I find amazing. Story [9/10] I absolutely enjoyed the whole story. The plot was great, and how it started out was magnificent. It had that easy feel and after a whole lot of episodes it slowly drags into more important things, as to why Sana became a child actor, what were the advantages and disadvantages of that life, and others that are better said and showed in the actual anime. The transition from easy-going to the melancholy and down-side of it all was smooth and light, but it still had its impact and surprise-element. Art [8/10] I gave this an easy eight since I still really liked the art, considering it was an anime from the 90s. I liked how the colors complemented each other - it gives a mood. What I notice from most 90s animes I've watched is that their colors and lighting are an important part. And they don't focus much on the details, that's mostly animes from the 2010s are like. And the best for me was the comedic elements of it, like the Babbit or the mid-break mini shows. Sound [9/10] GREAT OMFG. I love 90s music, and if they're Japanese even better! Most would find the opening annoying, which I did too after a period of time, but the ending for me was very catchy and quirky and I even downloaded it on my old phone lmao. It was 'Panic by Still Small Vocies'! I even remember jamming out to all the time each episode ended ;u; Character [10/10] ...Oh my God. What can I tell you, the characters are great. I've become so attached to them. Each time they felt something I felt it right through the screen. They were just so /real/ and significant for me. They weren't typical shoujo characters, like the handsome boy or the perfect ice-cold girl. Sana Kurata was joyful and bright and clumsy and even a little bit nosy, yet everyone loved her, but there was a pain somewhere down herself that no one ever knew. Akito Hayama was cold and emotionless, he was first portrayed as the school bully and was often called the 'monster' - and in turn, acted like it. The reasons of why he behaves the way he is was self-destruction on his side. And other characters that are later on revealed are justified and fits perfectly all into place, even the minor characters had their time and reason, they weren't just used as dummies. Enjoyment [10/10] I think I've said this enough lmao. Overall [10/10] IT. IS. WORTH. WATCHING. ADSFGF

This anime is by far one of the greatest I have seen. When I first saw the description of it I thought it was going to be one of those fun kiddy shows with tons of comedy. I was wrong. Well, except for the comedy part. This story dives deep into the problems of family life. It also introduces heavy topics about forgiveness, understanding, and what it truly means to love. Told in the eyes of someone who may be young but was forced to grow up. Don't get me wrong, there are still moments that you'll remember the days of your childhood, but overall this anime is filled with topics that will bring you to tears. However, there is still tons of comedy. I know, it sounds like I'm contradicting myself. But even though the topics brought up are sad, that doesn't mean the whole anime is. Sana is a very comical moments, along with her friends, parent, and manager. That also brings me to another important aspect to the anime. The relationship between Akito and Sana. Thoe they may have times where they fight, it's fun to see their relationship progress. Obviously, they aren't sticking their tounges down eachothers throats, since their still kids, but it's a bittersweet romance that leaves you on the edge of your seat. The ending might not be satisfying to some, but overall it gives you a warm feeling. By the end, you'll find yourself letting go a breath you didn't know you were holding, and be on the brink of happy tears since you feel so emotionally attached to the characters. I mean, how can you not after you've seen about 102 episodes? One things for sure, this anime is definitly worth the effort of watching. Enjoy!

OKAY! Watching this anime start to finish is most definitely worth it! But the ending is well defined as an omake ending. I means that there is no REAL ending and that it is more along the lines of Y-O-U making it up. Unfortunately for me I hate that, but that is just me, others may like it and you see I well "I don't hate it" but i don't love it. Other than than that, the plot line, the characters, oh my goodness AMAZING!!! It kinda reminded me of SHINNCHAN at first but then it got way better and more, how you could say, romantic. A lot of singing though...oh well. Great anime

Story The story was interesting, definitely an original. It just made the show that much deeper in a comical sense of course. I find that you have all kinds of genres in this show. Theres romance, some action, lots of drama, and just plain comedy. It was a "filling" show for those who want a nice, long anime to fill up their time. Art The art is pretty good for being made in the 90s, but some colors made the show look more like it was for 3 years olds instead of 10. It was cute, all the same though. Sound It just makes me laugh to remember all the nutty songs you hear in this show and the recognizable voices. The main character just loves to sing, and thats all I can say. I find that the sound was the cutest thing in this show. Enjoyment I make it a 7/10 for a couple of reasons. Sure, I loved the episodes and the plots, but I feel like it was another Dragon Ball Z or Naruto where the creators constantly tried to fill the season with fillers. It got annoying to watch sometimes when all you want was to see how the plot was progressing. You will notice more of this in the last half of the season. So, it was funny, but tedious, which is why I give it a 7. Overall I liked it, I wouldn't put it in high priority but maybe save it for a depressing, rainy day if you are bored. It still entertains you, but there are better animes out there. Although, this one makes it pretty high on my chart seeing it was meant for little kids. I might just continue reading the story (yes, it continues on in the manga) sometime in the future for another good laugh. Try watching the first 10-20 episodes if you want to test it though.

I was to be honest quite amazed to see nobody having reviewed this anime before. Kodomo no Omocha was one of the most confusing, yet likeable animes I ever watched. While the story in itself wasnt confusing atall, it starts out at one place.. and ends up taking you to a whole other track than what you had been expected the anime to take you to.. I'd call it a masterpiece, as its nothing short of a masterpiece... I will be writing a spoilerless review... Kurata Sana is a young girl who also happens to be a teenage idol... wideknown for her radient personality and cute looks, she lives with her mother which also happens to be an author... Sana attends school like any other person, and has friends that she likes to be around, However aside of that she is also widely known and has some other celebrity friends... Sana tells the tale of her life and experiences in a way to make it fun as she surfaces on television.... But there's more to it than that... Sana might be an adorable well liked girl by most people, but she also happens to have a guy in her class that she doesnt stand... he rebels and acts like a badboy... making the male classmates rebel towards the teachers..... but Sana had enough of that.... upon giving things very little thoughts.. she challenges him and officially decares him as her rival and number one enemy, along with all her hatred on television mentioning his full name... and from thereon out opens a whole new path for Sana..... This boy, Hayama Akito, the more she spends time thinking about it.. the boy is bad news, but why is it that way...? is there anything she can do in order to change that..? she begins spending more time with him... and from thereon out an emotional roller coaster like no other will unfold.... Sana made Hayama her rival.... is there any chance of their rivalry... to change into something else..? Kodocha seems like just any other comedy anime once you first start watching.... but already by the time you get through the first couple of episodes, the anime totally surprises you and takes you away. The story seems plain, but the story is far from plain. This is one of the most shocking animes I ever watched, how one anime can hold so many different emotions is amazing to me... Sana will find her very existence challenged in the anime Kodomo no Omocha. Questions asked, will they be answered? and what will come to be with her and Hayama..? I really didnt like the anime atall at first when I first started watching it, I'll be the first to admit... its comedy style didnt really appeal to me, it seemed like just the average shoujo G rated anime... but eventually you got hooked.... by every good aspect in this anime, the anime left on my mind for weeks to come... it made quite an impression on me.. This is not your average romantic comedy, it would be a grave loss not to check this anime out.... I feel like this anime will be enjoyable to people that like more dramatic stories, aswell as romantic ones.... the characters are well tought out and the story draws you in... by the time you start getting tired of the same thing happening, far before that time, the story completely turns around and hooks you again... Its beynd a masterpiece... I cant even say anything bad about it, aside of a few random filler episodes very late in the anime... this anime was of perfection... another masterpiece made among the earlier animes, the story was perfectly concluded, no windows feeling left opened for me. All the gaps were filled with a deserving ending to an equally great anime.

Even though this anime is pretty old its still one of the best I've seen, there's drama, comedy and romance. also one of the best English dub ever! Storyline: i find the storyline to be really engaging and fun to see. We follow the life of a child star Sana, and let me tell you there is a lot going on but its not overwhelming, it follows really well, we also see the lives of the people around Sana. We watch them grow and we root for them. and yes there is romance but its not the cringy type. where we just roll our eyes. its a romance that happens slowly because well their kids still. the pacing is good and yes there are filler episodes but its fine and fun to watch Characters: for me the characters are the best. A character is what pulls me in the story. and Sana is character that i love, she's funny, talented and she's got her head screwed on right. she the kind of character that pulls people in without needing to be this damsel in distress, or this super perfect girl. She has flaws and we see her grow. The other characters are pretty well fleshed out too her friends and family all have spot in the story that helps them grow. Art and music: the art is ok, its clearly different from the anime style we see today but its still ok to look at. the music is pretty catchy especially when Sana sings Overall: an anime i would watch again and again, suitable for any age. its shoujo and comedy at its best. love this show. especially the dub!

First anime I saw, and my favorite. Read and own the mangas. This is simply incredible though I watched it probably about eight years ago. I still rematch the show time to time. It's just simply amazing of course there are boring filler episodes but you're so in love with the characters that you want to see them in every little thing. My first review . Might as well do it on my childhood favorite. Also I recommend you watch marmalade boy if you like kodocha It's like the all grown up version of sana and Akita cept with a twistt. Though keep in mind these animes are olderrrr you can tell in the quality

After 1 year and 4 months, I finished this MASTERPIECE of anime. This may be look very childish, but is one of the most mature and saddest animes, Kodomo no Omocha is not only a cute shoujo anime, is a masterpiece of romance and psychological animes, it shows how kids sees the adult life and their problems, Sana Kurata, the protagonist of this anime, is only an 11 year old girl, but is most mature even than adult characters of other animes, and Akito Hayama, the male protagonist, another 11 year old, is also very mature, both Sana and Hayama haves very hard problems, and the anime shows how Hayama, thank to Sana, stops being the bully of his class, and also, this anime sometimes critics the Japanese society, criticizing things like the Japanese education (in the Karate club arc), the actors life on Japan (on many moments, but especifically on the Mansion of Water and the Math Video arc) and also the soundtrack is so good, is the most 90s thing that I heard, as a 90s music lover, this is for me one of the best soundtracks on anime). I absolutely recommend watching this, 10/10.

Man, I watched this WHOLE show when I was a child and had so much nostalgia with it. If you like shows that are short and cute, along with a slice of comedy, I would suggest this. This show is a bit old, though it has interesting characters and tropes I never saw before. Yes, it's a shoujo anime, and it's main plotline is love, however there's a lot of comedy that goes with it. The main character was strong headed, though I liked that. She had flaws that fit her well. The main boy, Akito, I remember not liking him at first due to his arrogance, however he grows on you and you learn about him.
