This was a great show full of girl power and comedy. Maki's squealing always got me; so hilarious. The show is full of peculiar girls with great humor. If you like unconventional and funny then you should watch this. It was a breath of fresh air. Made me want to go bond with my gfs more. Enjoy the show! I know I did. My biggest pet peeve with comedy anime, which is especially prevalent in moe comedy anime it seems, is when emotional tension is undermined by poorly placed gags or jokes. Sure, I'm watching the show because it's funny, but if a show was ONLY funny and nothing else it wouldn't be interesting. This is something that love lab does NOT DO. They actually handle the more dramatic scenes really well. They still interject comedy in them here and there, but it's well-placed. This is not the funniest show I've ever seen, though it did make me laugh a decent amount. What I love about this show is the combination of comedy and drama, which synthesize together to create the ultimate wholeome and heartwarming anime. I was positively surprised by the amount of (or lack of I should say) romance in this show as well. While it is titled "love lab," that mostly pertains to the activities (fantasizing and experimenting with romance) of the student council of an all-girls school, whose 5 members are the main cast of the show. I didn't watch this for the romance aspect, and I advise you to not expect too much romance either. The "romance" (if you can call it that) that is in this anime is extremely minimal but pretty wholesome. There's no relationships or anything of the sort, but the boys that are included I don't dislike. One big part of this show that impressed me was the animation. Honestly, in some episodes, this anime felt more like a Kyoto animation production than a random anime studio. That's not to say that the animation is as good as Kyoto's, because it's not, but the fluidity with which characters move is rather impressive. I've actually noticed that with other anime by this studio (doga kobo) as well, such as plastic memories, sleepy princess, and especially (the exceptionally well done and highly recommended) My Senpai is Annoying, which is very wholesome and has exceptional animation. Other very good shows from this studio, (I love and would recommend all of them) include New Game, Yuru Yuri, Gabriel Dropout, Himouto! Umaru-chan, and Asteroid in love. This is not everything famous by them, but these are the shows I love the most. (Doga kobo rant over) Overall, This show is criminally underrated, and I would strongly urge you to give it a try.

Will you help me create the perfect love situation??? Actually you have no choice but to help me But with a twist.. we dont actually have any boys at our school and its strictly an all girls school So the Story?? Well their isnt much of a story except that the girls try to create the perfect situation to ensure 100% romance! but fail miserably... Actually the Yuri is more strong than the normal romance(which I LOVED!) But half way through they actually start with the normal Romance which is Absolutely Hilarious(and i ship Maki x Yan!) The Art and Animation?? Loved it! Sound?? Really liked the OP, its catchy and perfectly fits the anime theme Liked the ED as well! As for the OSTs....well I dont really remember them so i guess they didnt stand out much Characters?? Ah yes, the characters so who have we got? Maki, an honor student on the exterior, an alien on the interior. Literally tries to recreate any Love Advice you give her has cute moments too and wayyyy too much energy Riko, the wild one who wants to be the exact opposite of a tomboy. As soon as she enters the classroom everyone starts chanting her name in a ritualistic tone. has her share of cute moments too Sayori, the ruthless, merciless, calculative, manipulative, deceptive, smart, tall, money loving machine who likes to tease everyone.Anything else that I need to add?? Oh she has a boyfriend too who she basically doesnt give a damn about Enomoto, believes that she's a princess, heavy eyebrows(which looks cute on her just like Mugi), sugar daddy, sugar brother, in love with the Makio(Maki Ver 2.0), pretty cute. Basically a tsundere Suzune, midget....seriously tinyass midget. pretty insecure so you may be wondering that their are no boys?? actually their are 2 first Nagio yea pretty average and lame guy next Yan my man!(actually his real name is Ikezawa) seriously since when did Katsuragi Keima stopped playing games and started taking studies seriously and whats he doing in Love Lab?? that meeting between Yan and Maki is just <3 I SHIP EM! honor students, discipline, presidents, role models, smart they are perfect for each other Enjoyment?? Oh boy the comedy in this anime has got be my favorite of all time Like just look at the toast scene if you dont believe me actually every scene including maki is hilarious Final verdict: Watch it if you love comedy such as Angel Beats or ReLife! though dont expect much romance

Despite the art to be mediocre, the sound design being cheesy, and the characters almost being generic, this anime gave me some laughs. What I adored most about this anime is how animated it really is. The animators of this show didn't hold back their creativity when making Love Lab. Hell the ending moved me because the animations made the characters become alive. If I were to describe the characters, I would call them generic. However, it never bored me because Love Lab had clever skits and wonderful animations, it made the characters memorable. There were some episodes that were mediocre and some skits were very obnoxious since they were repeated till the very end. The most enjoyable part of the show is the first episode. The animations on the episode were very on point, the two characters had this dynamic that made me laugh, and the story was too ridiculous. It got me to keep watching till the very end, and I enjoyed it. I do wish Love Lab has a sequel, but sadly I don't think that will be coming. In the future, I might watch this again.

When I watched “Love Lab” for the first time, I was amazed at how interesting this story was. The funny thing about the show was how well the characters were developed, mainly Sayori, Maki and Riko. Those characters shined in the first 7 episodes when they talked about how they go along with romance, while at the same time trying to make sure the girls-only school doesn’t know that much about it. Sayo is one of the cool characters that doesn’t have to be liked like Riko, or try hard to get love like Maki and Eno. However, she is a sort of a balance between these characters, as they sort of represent a battle between two worlds. As for Eno and Suzu, the next 6 episodes dealt with their two different personalities; one wanting to be a leader while not really knowing how much to lead because of Riko’s popular personality, and the other so shy that she wants to be popular, but not wanting to be too much of an outcast. Riko has her flaws, too. Besides being overconfident and flimsy, she does wish about what it would be like to have a boyfriend without having the “tomboy” look, whereas Maki has very wild expectations that don’t come close to reality. When it comes to dating, it’s like her visualizing kissing a body pillow: you won’t come too far with actual romance and relationship skills. Love Lab is a good show if you wonder how a school-themed show can be enjoyable and quirky at the same time. Most of the school-themed tropes aren’t as evident as most school-themed shows, but the jokes about high school love interests being something that must happen in your life if you want to have an “authentic” relationship, will hit you hard, when they weren’t trying to be serious.

If school life, plotless, "cute girls doing cute things" moeblob isn't your thing, you're in luck: this isn't any of that. Despite the schoolgirls being in school doing school-like things (like being on their absurdly powerful student council), this is not a 4-panel gag comic brought to life in a series of episodic moments. Rather, it's a coherent, consistent, and compelling story, told in thirteen chapters, each delivering the perfect mix of both comedy, and a touching story of the progression of an unlikely friendship between two very different girls, and the strange cast of characters that surround them. And ultimately it is the characters that I always remember and go back to look at again and again, as they are so very interesting, charming, funny, and beautiful, in their own very flawed and hilarious ways. While it has a consistent, forward-moving plot, it is really the characters that move the story along, and in the process, make themselves relatable and memorable. Love Lab really is unlike any other anime I've seen; certainly unlike any other school life romance or comedy. That unique quality it has, that I can't quite place, is what keeps drawing me in for multiple viewings since it first aired; this is the only anime title I've watched in its entirety multiple times, and the only one I feel unashamed to give a full "Masterpiece" rating to without qualification or reservation.

Many times I've tried the crunchyroll random button, and the fourth time I got Love Lab, another comedy about a group of... amusing middle school girls. While YuruYuri is more of a slice of life show Love Lab is more of a raunchy comedy. I don't want to use a synopsis because of the spoiler but it is funny and worth the watch. And that's coming from someone who generally doesn't seek out shows like this. It’s hard to review a comedy because humor is subjective; just because I laughed throughout doesn’t mean everyone else will. Some may find Riko unlikable. some may find this wholly inappropriate behavior for middle school girls. Some may dismiss it as moe trash. I’d say those people are overthinking it with this series. It’s funny and raunchy without being pretentious and preachy.

Story: 4/10 There's not really much of a story, since this anime is more like a slice of life than anything. Yea, there's romance, but nothing really develops this season (assuming there's going to be a second) so there's not really any romantic scenes. That said, I wasn't really expecting there to be any amazing plot, so it's fine on my part. Art: 7/10 Art styles are up to preference. I personally liked it, but it's not like top of the line art style with fancy colors, it's just a sort of standard girly and colorful art style like most animes with main girl casts are nowadays. A good art style, in my opinion, would be something like Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka ? Sound: 9/10 Not exactly sure what's meant by this, but I guess all the voice actors fit well. All the characters had a different tone so it's easy to recognize them. Character: 8/10 In terms of characters, they don't bring anything new to the table. One's a tomboy, one's a girly girl, one's a shy glasses girl, another a tsundere (with red hair to match up too!), and the last one is a girl that is.. Idk, how to describe but kinda like she knows everything lol. If you've watched Working!! then she's basically Souma. They all have their own little traits of course, nothing new. But I liked the characters and each of them brought a different aspect to the anime. They're all different too. Enjoyment: 10/10 Omg, I loved this anime so much. I literally laughed out loud every episode! This is like my ideal comedy anime. I'm not gonna call this a rom-com cuz it's barely, but it's not yuri so .-. But I really loved the comedy in this anime and it cracks me up every time xD The anime really did a great job of making you stay on your toes and giggle every 5 minutes Overall: 9/10 Overall, this is a really unique anime concept that has never really been done before. That said, not much story to it and the characters still stand to some of the basic traits of all girls in anime, but I enjoyed this one a lot. Not only was it really fun to watch, but it was a really hilarious anime, probably haven't laughed this much from one anime ever, so that's a definite plus!

Love Lab Art I really liked the art of this show. It didn’t really impose on itself too much and even though they were in the same uniforms a lot of the time, the change in hairstyles for the main character was actually a nice touch. This comes into play in the story, but that’s beside the point. I felt that while there were a few things that I would have liked to see changed when they were introduced, they were actually things used by the story to get a laughable moment. This really was a pleasant show to look at and at no point did i feel like I would stop watching because of the art. Sound/Music The music in the show itself was sub-par. This is really where the show fell short for me. The music really wasn’t anything spectacular and I found myself being more interested in the story than the music itself. On the sound part of this, things did a little bit better. There was a good balance of comic relief moments as well was soft music to help set the mood for a more dramatic scene (what few there where). Truly the sound direction really could have done a lot more and been a lot better, but due to the content of the show itself, I can understand why this might have been put on the back burner. Story We meet Riko, deemed the “Wild Kid” by her classmates at an all-female middle school. When she goes to check on something from the student council she finds the Student Council President, Maki, Kissing a body pillow with a crudely drawn boy on it. Understandably in shock she tries to get away, but then Maki begins to cry and thinks that her secret is out, in an effort to help her get better at romance, and stop her from kissing a pillow, she agrees to help her conduct “love labs” to get better at romance. However two things seem to be standing in Riko’s way: The fact that romantic relationships are forbidden by their school, and Riko has never had any experience herself! Maki assumes she is popular and has had a lot of boyfriends and Riko can’t bring herself to tell the truth. The story picks up from there with the inclusion of a cast of characters that each are unique (albeit Cliché) and fun to watch grow together. Personal Reflection The first episode Thumbnail was a little weird and I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. But after the crazy antics and one laugh after another, I was hooked. I found that even though the characters were a little generic and the sound wasn’t amazing, the show had a charm that I really enjoyed. There was one part that I was a little weirded out by, which was a scene that had the characters in black face; that should have been avoided. Over the course of the show, there was a change in tone and it became less about the Love Labs and more about the friendships between the characters. I have seen this kind of shift happen before, but it never felt quite this smooth and natural. While the end slate left it open to a sequel series I am happy that it ended when it did. Love Lab is a perfect example of how a goofy comedy and slice of life show can have real heart and turn into a show that feels genuine. When the silence hung in the air during the last episode, I found myself holding my breath, waiting for what was to come next, and I hope you do too. Overall Rating: 7/10

So basically this anime is about girls trying to come up with techiques to fall in love. All the side girls believe the main girl's lie about being a romantic expert. She does feel bad about the lie though. What makes this anime funny is all the crazy and wacky stuff the girls do to try and get men. All the characters are funny and weird in their own way. Now this is labeled romance but it's more of a friendship anime and the topic is love. All the girls become close friends while pursuing love. This is more of a girly anime with not much ecchi at all. But the girls being naive about men and their ''innocent schoolgirl'' image are just too cute. The anime can be heart warming but its mostly good for laughs and cuteness. I say its great for girls but men can watch it too since it's damn funny.

Mostly a Cute Girls Doing Cute Things anime, but it had me laughing out loud and had me on the brink of tears. Hilarious, brilliant OP and END songs, kinda tropy at times but I loved it. For Shoujo ai fans, there isn't any but the friendships are really great to see develop and the girls have great chemistry. Top voice acting and brilliant music throughout. If you're a fan of the CGDCT genre of anime watch it, only 13 episodes, every one of them is fantastic. Great to see how the girls take on the challenges and the way they go about it unexpected and a laugh every time. I just love it, will probably re-watch next week.

Man, this is one of the best slice of life with little drama on it. The romance things isn't really that deep as I thought (its a light romance). Its not yuri, and not shoujo ai either. I don't know why I really liked the anime, but one things that I feel the anime give an impact in the drama. The drama it just typical light drama you've seen in others Slice of life anime, but they really polished drama pretty well tbh. The Characters is really loveable and cute, both girls and boy lmao. The ost is decent, but I prefer the ending one, because Osu! lol. well, in conclusion, this is really good anime, you guys better watch it

It's stupid, but in a good way. Quirky and full of gags. Some references. Mostly episodic and plotless. But funny nonetheless. If you don't like the humor in the first couple episodes it's probably not for you. No need to write an extensive review. Just a light rom-com slice of life without much of the rom. Overall worth watching. Plot is pretty basic to non-existant. Artwork is colorful and vibrant. Music is decent. Characters are not bland but not deep because it's a laid back rom-com. Only a slight bit of drama in the last couple of episodes but nothing too serious. Had to stretch review to meet minimum quota.

Love Lab was a fun romp through the lives of girls with little to no valid experience in love trying to secretly research and give advice to their fellow classmates. A bit of a different set up for how the characters come together makes the first half of this series a bit more interesting than your standard CGDCT club set up. It's interesting and fun all the way through, and there was at least one moment where the plot (yes there's a plot) took a turn where I didn't expect it. If you still don't have a reason to watch Love Lab based on premise alone, you should watch it for the animation. There are moments where I had actually had to pause and rewatch a simple action like a character shaking their head in anger when talking because of how fluid and genuinely high quality the animation could be. It's stuff like this that really made Love Lab worth it for me. Characters are loosely based on archetypes but their individual quirks and motivations through their development make them feel much more lively. There is literal slapstick humor between them, and it's a running gag throughout the series. Love Lab is definitely worth the watch, even though I went in expecting yuri, what I got was more than worth the investment of time.

***Spoiler free review*** Love Lab is one of those many (and when I say many I really mean millions) cutesy girl anime that revolve around a school setting. Furthermore it takes place at an all girl’s high school where everyone is petrified to even be near a man thus bringing us to Love Lab quirky but somewhat plausible premise. It is a flawed show...but I still love it. Story: 4/10 I found the premise of the show extremely superficial since I find it hardly believable that these girls would have almost no experience even being around boys. Basically these girls start up a “Love Lab” as a part of the student council. They would take questions on love (which they have no clue about) from students that asked and somehow answer them. This however was easy to look past (for me at least) since the characters were really the stars of the show. You can draw comparisons to K-On in this setting; you didn’t watch K-On for the music aspect of the show but rather the character interactions. The same applies here as if you are seriously watching this show for the plot then you have very low standards. Animation: 6/10 This just may be my weirdness but I swear at one point in the show the animation quality dropped down. I feel as if things like how the character’s hair flowed or the clarity of background objects just suddenly lost effort. Regardless the show sports some okish visuals. Each character is very appealing to look at (eyes yum) but other than that I feel as if everything else was just passable. Sound: 4.5/10 Nothing really stood out here. Some ok tunes but I didn’t find anything over the top. Didn’t like the OP or ending stuff either. Characters: 8/10 I LOVED all the characters except the annoying vice president Maki. Other than her, all the other characters really flowed well with each other and brought some sort of enjoyment to what was going on. My personal favorite was Enomoto since she eventually starts to open up to the club and provide some helpfulness. Overall: 5.6/10 Overall the show was pretty bland but I did end up enjoying it. Loved the character interactions and there were some moments of awesomeness on the animation front (though VERY limited). I would recommend this anime as one of those rainy day type stuff you watch when there is literally nothing left. Enjoyment: 8/10 Thanks for reading my review! If you liked my writing style, would like to see some other reviews, or just want to talk, please stop by my page! Sincerely, Awesome Drummer

Love Lab is a very fun watch that doesn't require a lot of attention investment. Each of the main characters' strengths and weaknesses really shine and drive the show's comedy and entertainment. Each of the Love Lab experiments the main cast partakes in gives the laughs of a good comedy skit, but also the precious moments of them becoming better friends. If you like slapstick humor that slaps every time with a dose of heartwarming moments of friends being friends, this is a good show to watch. Also, I need to warn you; this show will jump scare you 1 time with blackface. It will be the most out of left-field thing... and the funniest scene in the entire series. You have been warned.
