If you enjoyed the series, then you'll enjoy this just as much. The Non Non Biyori OVA is essentially episode 13 of the show. They didn't really deviate from the usual setting and characters. I won't bother summarizing since the provided synopsis pretty much tells you everything you need to know. I was pretty hyped to see more of this show and was not disappointed. More of our favorite characters. More countryside eye candy. Great soundtrack. Beautiful wildlife sounds. Well timed comedy. Everything that made the series great. If you need more relaxation in your life or are anxiously awaiting season two, then this OVA will not disappoint. That's about all I can say about this. Thank you for reading this review and if you haven't, do yourself a favor and watch this show. 7/10 Story 9/10 Art 9/10 Sound 10/10 Characters 8/10 Overall

Also known as the 13th episode of season 1, there is absolutely no reason to watch this. It's a troll episode. This was made 4 years before the NNB movie. At the time, they didn't know whether S2 (NNB Repeat) would be made, let alone the movie or S3 (NNB Nonstop). Early on in this episode, the cast wins a trip to Okinawa. They then spend the rest of the episode preparing for the trip, and it ends when they're on the plane, before they land. The movie re-animates much of this episode with a higher budget, and by the 14th minute of the movie, the cast has landed in Okinawa. Now that the movie exists, just watch it after S1 or S2, but before S3. This now only serves as a relic for the morbidly curious, who want to compare scenes from this episode against the movie.

*Spoiler warning!* *Short review!* Story/Plot 7/10 - Not much to say about the plot. It focused around everyone getting ready for a trip to Okinawa, which doesn't even happen in the episode! It was simple enough but also pretty enjoyable! Art/Animation 6/10 - The art and animation are the same as the first season. But, for some reason the sight I was watching it on had terrible resolution. Therefore, I gave it a 6/10 instead of the 7/10 I gave the first season on Art/Animation. Sound 6/10 - Same as the last season. Characters/Personalities 7/10 - Same as the last season not much to say about this Enjoyment/Overall 6/10 - It was pretty good and enjoyable. But, the cliff-hanger bothered the HECK out of me! >:(

Nyanpasuuuuu! This is basically just another standard Non Non Biyori extra, one of those episodes with no grand ambitions other than putting the characters in a simple situation and letting their charm carry the whole thing. Here, the girls spend their time playing and chatting about air travel, imagining what it would be like to fly and building a whole fantasy around it. It’s an incredibly simple scenario, yet it fits the show's premise perfectly. What’s most interesting is how a bit of childish make-believe actually leads to a satisfying little conclusion. They start out just talking and fantasizing about planes and trips, like country kids fascinated by something that seems distant and unlike their everyday reality, but gradually, their game takes shape until they actually manage to bring what they were imagining to life. It’s these kinds of small moments that I love about Non Non Biyori. We don’t need major events or an elaborate plot for the episode to work. The charm lies in watching characters experience ordinary things and turning those situations into something fun. It’s a very grounded slice-of-life series, and perhaps that’s exactly why such simple moments end up being so delightful. The characters' charm plays a huge role, too. Even when they’re just chatting or playing a silly game, their interactions feel so natural that you’re completely drawn into the moment. You simply accept their excitement about the idea of flying and start having fun right along with them. I also wanted to touch on the technical side. The art remains beautiful and fits the franchise’s style perfectly, especially the backgrounds, which capture that peaceful, rural atmosphere typical of Non Non Biyori. However, the animation is quite simple, and the fluidity leaves a lot to be desired at times. It doesn't make the show unwatchable, but it is noticeable. I also have to mention the 3D cars amidst the 2D backgrounds because I found that really funny lol. The visual contrast really stands out, and to me, it looked like something just plopped in there because it had to be included. It doesn't ruin the episode, but it’s definitely one of those technical choices you notice right away. Despite these issues, it’s an easy watch. This isn't an episode that relies on extremely fluid animation or big action sequences to work. Its strength lies much more in the atmosphere, the characters, and the everyday humor. If you’re already a fan of the franchise, you’ll likely be able to overlook these limitations easily. Ultimately, it’s another one of those little extras that show how Non Non Biyori manages to turn mundane situations into delightful moments. Nothing particularly grand happens, and it probably won't be an episode that sticks in your memory for long, but it delivers exactly what I expected: some playful antics, silly conversations, cute moments, and that cozy vibe the franchise is known for. For me, revisiting this special was fun and cute. It’s nothing extraordinary, but it serves its purpose well as a small supplement to the series. It’s simple, laid-back, and charming, just like the essence of Non Non Biyori itself. I recommend it to anyone who already enjoys the franchise and wants to spend a few more minutes with these characters. Raiting: 6/10. Nota: 6/10.
