I have watched all the episodes but I am less satisfied Story (3/10) Very classic story about how a young man who went to the city to save his village. Honestly, story in this anime is very boring. Art (6/10) battle scene in the anime is pretty good but just a little. Sound (6/10) BGS is very bad and the voice is not good enough but OP and ED in this anime is pretty good. Character (6/10) This anime titles Akame but instead tells the story Tatsumi. and what makes it worse is a very easy character to die Enjoyment (4/10) Kill or not to kill ? I can not enjoy this anime. every character dies with ease and they are less memorable death Overall : 5/10

I am making this review disregarding the manga, and yes, I am currently reading it as well. I'll be really straightforward and say that Akame ga Kill! is good. Although it is not a 10 in my opinion, it was a really good anime. The plot is nice and the action is done really well. The anime also is not afraid to kill characters. This is one of the things that makes Akame ga Kill! good. The directors or whoever are not afraid to kill off characters. You can never expect who is going to die in the next episode and so forth. The anime does a really good job of sticking the viewer to the story as well. It makes you always want to come back to watch the next episode. A major fault to me and the manga readers would have to be post the 18 episode mark. I did say I would disregard the manga in this review, but it is rather hard since the anime took it's own route at that point. They continued to make it good and I definitely enjoyed it, but there were some parts I would have liked to see get animated. Overall, I'd recommend it to anyone. It's one of those animes that has enough pros to overlook it's cons.

If you love shows with lots of casualties. This one is right up your alley. Akame Ga Kill starts out with a boy name Tatsumi who ventures out to the Capital City to get work in the Imperial Army to raise money to save his village. After getting denied jobs and getting robbed by a busty blonde name Leone he gets invited to a wealthy families home and becomes part of their security. However, he later finds out that the family take poor people or people born out side the Capital City and torture them to death. After seeing his friends form his village in this shed where they torture the people and later kills the young girl who invited him to their home. After that he joins up with the infamous Night Raid assassins whose goal is to change the corruption in government and start a coup. A faction called the "Jaegers" are formed to uphold the governments authority and is lead the the sexy, badass war psycho General Esdeath. The problem that most people had with this show is that after episode 19 the show deviates from the manga. Now if you are an anime only viewer this show is great, but if you want to read the manga start from chapter 39 on because after chapter 38 that is where the anime starts to deviate from the manga. Now I read the manga and the score would have been a 10/10, but for what its worth it's still a great anime. The animation is great. White Fox did a really good job animating the fight scenes. There are only four characters I am going to say are the four that stood out to me. Tatsumi is the main protagonist and the whole plot centers mostly around him. He wants to get stronger in order to change the world the people in the current government live in as well as the rest of Night Raid. Akame is the badass sword fighter who mostly has an apathetic tone, but cares deeply about her comrades. She also gets a few funny jokes here and there, but for the most part she's there to have awesome fights. Now there is Esdeath. I really like Esdeath. First off she a person who lust for war and violence, she can control ice, and has no sympathy what so ever. She also is in love with Tatsumi and will do anything to have him by her side. Not to mention she is fucking awesome. The voice acting in Akame Ga Kill is great in my opinion. The one voice actress that stood out to me is the voice of Esdeath. Also both openings are great songs to listen to. I really enjoyed Akame Ga Kill. Even though it strays away from the manga it still is able to hold up to it's epicness. Also the the last two episodes are beast. Overall Akame Ga Kill is a great show and definitely a good show to watch, but like I said if you want to catch up with the manga you can stop the anime after finishing episode 19 and continue with the manga on chapter 39. Also I don't like how people who died in the manga didn't die in the anime, but I digress. I recommend this show just for the fact the majority of it was epic as hell. Like I said only downfall is that it doesn't follow the manga, but if you're an anime only person then it's still a very good show.

First of all, this is my first review, so I might not be as strict as some of you avid anime watchers out there. Also, I personally don't read manga, so don't expect any comparisons from the anime to the manga. Even so, I felt the need to write a review about this particular series, Akame ga Kill! The plot is basically a young boy by the name of Tatsumi goes to the capital who is responsible of the poverty of his village. There he finds a corrupt capital like no other, in which a young emperor is being manipulated by his much older minister, and finds a group by the name of Night Raid that fights that corruption with the art of assasination. The story may be a bit common and not something so hard to come up with, but they way they developed it, for me atleast, was great. Not only because of all the action and bloodshed but of how the mangaka kept the anime realistic to some degree, not fearing to kill one of their main characters if need be, unlike some anime in which the MC can face hordes of enemies and end up unscathed, this one is about the MC getting stronger which each near-death battle and growing wiser because of the people around him and what was passed onto him, growing both in strength and mentally. I'm not such a picky watcher but as far as I could see the art was great, not rushed, and the music was a but absent, i felt it complemented each fight, the character development is fabulous, as you see not only Tatsumi but those around him also mature in different ways. It is an anime in which you shouldn't get to attached to a certain character, but to all of them and their purpose as a whole. This may be a bit of a spoiler but i don't know how else to put it, many characters get killed, but each with a reason that without it maybe they wouldn't have suceeded, unlike in some anime with pointless deaths (Such as Guilty Crown in my opinion) and instead it leaves this bittersweet feeling of each death. The whole anime was a bit bittersweet in my opinion, but hey, that's for you to decide. It's really worthwhile if you have time for it, and I gladly recommend it. That's it for my review :)

WARNING THERE MIGHT BE A FEW SPOILERS (First Review) This show is pretty decent.. It's not the best but it's watchable. The first 19 or so episodes of the show was pretty great but episodes beyond episode 19 was disappointing. The ending was also a disappointment for me. Story: (7/10): Tatsumi, the main protagonist of the show sets out for the Capitol to earn money for his starving village and later finds out that the Capitol is a corrupt kingdom. Most government officials, the Prime Minister and the emperor are all corrupt. After nearly becoming a victim of corruption himself, Tatsumi is recruited by Night Raid, a group of assassins dedicated to eliminating the corruption inside the Capitol by killing them. Art: (8/10): The art in the anime seems a bit outdated for its release date when compared to the animation of other anime that were produced by Ufotable. The excessive gore within the anime seems like I'm watching the incredibly old Elfen Lied, but, it is still watchable. The slow motion and sometimes fast-paced camera movement make up for the lack of better animation. In addition, the pan-out scenes that are covered with detailed art when the slicing of a throat of the killing of a character occurs is pretty awesome. Character: (6/10): I hate to say this but every time a character in this anime has a flashback...they're about to die. The anime tries to give you a quick deep throat of character development and try to give you feels for a character before they kill them off. The romance part of this (there was a romance aspect?) was rushed, the characters are all rushed but the one thing I do have to give them credit for was that they actually had a huge cast of characters and near the end the evil side (There was two separate groups in the anime basically a "good" and a "bad" side) had almost as much development as the good side. I found the "bad guys" to be more interesting than the good guys because they had a lot of things that made you reconsider whether or not they were truly bad guys. One of the bad guy had a beautiful wife and child and that was one of the most touching characters cry emoticon Sound(6/10): I'm going to be honest. I didn't always notice the music playing in the background, if there even was any. There were moments when it definitely amplified the moment, but most of the time the whole soundtrack was pretty forgettable. Though at the same time, it's nothing to talk down on either. Having said all this, I want to revert to what I asked myself in the beginning. I'm aware of the fact that many people indeed watch certain shows to watch other people's suffering, either intentionally or unintentionally. But I don't think that splatter and dramatic losses are enough to make a show "good" and ,as a function of this, make them experience quite a big hype. Yes, Akame ga Kill! features lots of these things and yes, they are an undeniable big attribute of shows like this, but there is more to it. I think Akame ga Kill! is a good example for this.

I keep asking myself after 1 of my friends asking me to watch AGK, should i watch it? Because ppl keep reminding me how bad it is, so i decided to give it a try and the result are: Story -6 The story is promising at first but become dull. As other review say, AGK only focuses on 2 point; -Goverment is bad; -Revolution is needed, so they come "Night Raid" So the main point on the story is just night raid winning many battle to its victory, quite simple right? Art-10 The art is good, outstanding for me. Sound-7 sound is fair enough to give it 6-7 but i feel like giving it a 7 because the OP Character-6 Many of the reviewers give it 3-4 or even 1-2 but i still want to give it 6 because the character development of the people in night raid is pretty good, even so the Esdeath's group didnt get much development and Esdeath herself keep doing torture to show the viewer how bad it is, even when it wasnt needed Enjoyment-9 Do i enjoy this because the art which is 10? Well, a little but not just it. This was among the first 10 anime i even watch, and at that time i would have give it a 10. I enjoy this bacause it is easy to understand, the ending is different from other anime and the character that being introduced, one by one was lovable. And this anime, apart FMAB is the only anime that make me feel anxious about what happen next, and care about someone in the anime that just about to die etc Overall- 7 or 8 I feel like giving it an eight but seeing the story and other, i'd still give it 7, more like 7.5 So should you watch it? For me,yes, it is worth your time

This show is pretty decent.. It's not the best but it's watchable. The first 18 episodes of the show was pretty great but episodes beyond episode 18 was disappointing. The ending was also a disappointment for me. Story: (7/10) Tatsumi, the main protagonist of the show sets out for the Capitol to earn money for his starving village and later finds out that the Capitol is a corrupt kingdom. Most government officials, the Prime Minister and the emperor are all corrupt. After nearly becoming a victim of corruption himself, Tatsumi is recruited by Night Raid, a group of assassins dedicated to eliminating the corruption inside the Capitol by killing them. Art/Animation: (8/10) The show's got a great animation and great character design. Sound: (6/10) Soundtrack is pretty lacking... The only good soundtrack this show has is the 2nd opening soundtrack, 1st ending soundtrack and the 2nd ending soundtrack. Only few of the battle themes I've heard are good but most of them are not. Character: (7/10) You have the main protagonist, Tatsumi and a group of Night Raid members who recruited him later in the show. They are Akame, Leone, Mine, Lubbock, Shile, Bulat, Chelsea, and Najenda. There's a whole set of antagonists in the show and I'm not going to list them. You can just search them on google. P.S I don't know it's just me but Akame looks a lot like Yomi from Ga-Rei Zero. The only difference is the eye colour and her height. Enjoyment: (7/10) (SPOILER) Like I said above, I enjoyed the show for about 18 episodes. 18 episodes and beyond was a disappointment. They killed almost all the Night Raid members including the main protagonist. The only thing I didn't like about the show is the director killing my favorite main characters. Overall: (7/10) It's a decent anime show with funny moments, a bit of romance and a lot of gore. The story was decent and it felt like the plot was rushed at the 2nd half of the season. The MC's dying was also a disappointment for me. Pros: -Decent story -Great animation -Funny moments earlier in the show -Decent character development Cons: -Intentionally killing of MCs -Plot was rushed on the 2nd half -Soundtrack is lacking

Ok, make a story where everyone in it dies, then put tons of blood and violence to please the fans, and give a half-ass story that skips lot of it's content that the manga has with a bad ending. That is Akame ga Kill in a nutshell. Now when it comes to bad story in anime I have seen tons and Akame ga Kill is in that list, so your probably wondering why is it so bad? Well let me tell you. Story: Tatsumi is a fighter who, accompanied by his two childhood friends, sets off to the Capital in search of a way to make money to assist his poverty-stricken village. After being separated from his friends, Tatsumi not only fails to enlist in the army, but is swindled out of all his money. He is then taken in by a noble family who offer him help, but intend to torture and kill him, just like they did with his friends and dozens of other people. Tatsumi is rescued by a group of assassins known as Night Raid, and is invited to join their ranks. Composed of the swordswoman Akame, a young woman armed with a huge pair of scissors named Sheele, the string manipulator Lubbock, the armored warrior Bulat, the sniper Mine, the beast fighter Leone and their leader Najenda, a former general of the imperial army. Night Raid is also part of the revolutionary forces assembled to overthrow Prime Minister Honest, who manipulates the young emperor for his and his men's personal gain, leading the rest of the nation to poverty and strife. Each member of Night Raid carries one of the "Imperial Arms" (帝具 Teigu?), items created via alchemy and parts of the supernatural Danger Beasts over 900 years ago. Forty-eight of these items were created and about half of them have been lost to history. These items range from weapons like swords and firearms to more utilitarian items including a cosmetic box and armor, and even organic beings such as a shape-shifting dog and a powerful warrior. The Imperial Arms cannot be used by just anyone, as their users must be compatible with them or risk death. The power of most Imperial Arms is so overwhelming that it is said that when two Imperial Arm users fight each other, one is bound to die. General Esdeath, considered to be the most powerful fighter in the Empire, who assembles her own team of Imperial Arms-wielding assassins, the "Jaegers", to hunt down Night Raid. That is Akame ga Kill in a whole. Character: Yeah, I tired to like the characters in this show, but ever time I tired they died and this is very annoying, now I know Akame ge Kill is trying to make you shocked and sad from all these deaths, but in the end you don't have feelings for something you just meet. There are no bonds with the characters or getting time to get attached to the because by the next episode their already dead (Fist of a North Star reference) so unless you like anything with a face you really won't care about half of the people who die in this show.Besides, Even if I where to explain ever character in this show with one word it probably be generic, expect for Esdeath she cool. Animation: I know I know I know, so far I haven't said anything good about Akame ga Kill yet, but it's animation was it's best focal point. Since ever character had different weapons and not just a sword (thank god) the show knew how to animate ever single imperial arms it had and the fight scenes were pretty good. One thing I did like about Akame ga Kill is that you didn't know who is going to win the fight and I liked this knowing that even the main characters weren't safe, even though they go over board at times. Overall, Akame....Ga.... Kill..... Is....... Sh*t. Sadly, what people say about this show is true it doesn't offer anything new or interesting to the table. Too much fan service (Blood and Violence)to the point that Its just there to there to make you forget how bad the show actually is and make you forget with cool fights and in my book that doesn't cut it for. A true good anime dosen't have tons of blood or ecchi moments to the point the only reason you will watch the show is for a fap aid, a good anime has character development, a evoking story that has you thinking just to put the pieces together. and a ending that you will never forget.Of course, Akame ga Kill isn't the worst anime I ever seen, but definitely the the most disappointing.

This Anime was full of gore and yet it made me so happy and joyful! I got to see great weapons, fighting skills, And a group of revaltion heros that seem like an amazing Family. It wasn't only about them but also there enemies. I actually liked a most of them. If only they weren't opposed to Night Raid. But the turn out of the Anime made me forever broken. When I listen to sad songs I cry because I'll think of this Anime. But it was worth it! I got to see such heartship in Akame ga Kill! I suggest watching this! But you must have a box of tisues for episode 6-24!

Akame ga Kill! is an action, dark fantasy, tragedy anime, based of the Japanese shōnen manga, written by Takahiro and illustrated by Tetsuya Tashiro. The anime is produced by Square Enix and created by White Fox, and is a 24 episodes long. The story is about a boy called Tatsumi, who travels to the capital to raise money for his village, only to find how corrupt the capital is first hand and is recruited to the assassin group called Night Raid after they show him how corrupt the capital really is. Now, the story is well created but take into account that episode 19 to 24 is not based of the manga and if you read the manga first, you may not like the anime but to be fair i will not be comparing the anime to manga after look at some forums and seeing how much hate there is from people who read the manga. So for the review, i will look at the anime as it's only thing. Now back on about the story, I can say that are was things i really thought they wouldn't do and there as so many twists it will keep up guessing whats going to happen next. Now on to the Characters, like how i did it them in my review of No Game No Life, i am only talking about the main two characters of the anime and because of story spoilers i can't talk about any other character or can't go into details about the main characters. Now on to the main Characters themselves. Tatsumi (Voiced by Sōma Saitō), is the main male protagonist, he is a swordsman from a village far away and goes to the capital with he's two friends only to fail victim to the corruption in the capital and joins Night Raid to help rid the corruption. Akame (Voiced by Sora Amamiya), is the main female protagonist, she is a highly trained assassin. She is cold-hearted and has very serious demeanor after being trained to be assassin with her sister at a very young age. She joined Night Raid after finding out how corrupt the Empire is one mission causing her sister to think she has betrayed by Akame and wants to end Akame life herself. Now the presentation, Akame ga Kill! uses a number of colors and well designed fight scenes to attract people. It's graphics design is similar to another White Fox anime Is the Order a Rabbit? just with darker colors to match the theme of the anime. The Character animations are well done with great detail to character movements and facial expressions. The voice acting is well done as every character had a believable voice that fits them well. The sound is also well done especially the music in the fight scenes really captures the feel of each fight. Lastly the topics that are used works well as they don't to be out of place and really show how dark the story is. Now onto my thoughts, Akame ga Kill! is very unique anime as it's story is something never seen before and doesn't go for the happy ending like most animes go for, instead goes for a more deeper impacting one. The characters are well made and because of how the story is written, keeps up thinking whats going to happen next. On the point of characters, i really like most of the characters in the anime but i love Akame as she not a character that needs saving by the main male character and is very interesting to me, i just like very unique characters in animes. The fight scenes are beautiful to watch as the had a lot of effort put into them and the soundtrack is great as i like the openings and endings songs a lot. Overall Akame ga Kill! while i say it's not everyone's cup of tea, it one of the uniquest animes i ever seen and if you love stories that are dark or like a lot of action then this is anime you should watch.

Akame ga Kill is a great display of a seemingly-ideal revolution against power and tyranny. From a conceptual basis, the overarching ideas are very real, and very relevant. We see how power corrupts people; how soldiers blindly accept oppressive instructions and how people kill for the sake of killing. AgK mirrors many military regimes in modern society - we have countless documented tortures and mass killings simply because it was either their job or they were given free reign to do so. I thought of the Iraq War more than a few times as I was watching this movie. One character - a soldier working for the oppressive kingdom, who really hasn't done anything bad on-screen - mentions he joined the dictatorship to change the system from within. While he sounds completely sane and logical, the audience is pitted against him instantly, specifically because they know that any involvement in working for evil makes you part of the evil; and the creators have done a great job in leading the audience up to this pattern of thinking. Other concepts to do with justice are very well thought out here; and the audience grows quickly throughout these 24 well-paced episodes to validate or invalidate each character's proposed notion of justice. Art: Camera work was absolutely great, with the art sufficiently engaging the watcher, not frustrating them, and allowing them to appreciate every drawn scene. Fan-service was toned right back when the plot needed focusing which was great. AgK did fairly well to keep the tables even in the fighting. The fights were enjoyable from start to finish. The best audio was best during fights, and even then it was mediocre. I really think that there was a constant discrepancy between what was drawn and what was required. Good characters, the male lead died, which is always refreshing (cruel, I know) and Akame wasn't validated. No fame or history books for assassins. This was consistent with the episodes - "everybody knew what they were getting into" - and is totally true.

Akame ga Kill is a show that while trying to convey complicated and interesting themes, falls flat on its face when it comes to its poor characters, awful worldbuilding, and convoluted story. Let me explain. Akame ga Kill was fun when it was airing. It was mindless, bloody fun that allowed the viewer(in this case me) to take in all its gore and heart-pounding action as a part of this entire experience. But therein lies the problem of the show. Instead of sticking to its simple ways of an action show with some battle shounen elements it evolves into a show that not only tries to tackle messages like the death of people in battle and the effects of war, but it completely fails in this regard due to its horrible character development. But first off, let's start from the beginning. Story: Akame ga Kill is a simple story of a rebellion. Rebellion against those who have been wronged and those who wronged them. It's standard fantasy fare that's been done over and over again with the classic anime touch of battle shounen. Which isn't a bad thing because it does what it sets out to do very good. It's action is well animated, the Teigu(Imperial Arms)s are unique and interesting, and the enenmies that Night Raid has to face are both varied and relateable in many ways. Which brings me to a point which I found to be a major fault of the show. The backstories of the characters. Many of the characters in the show(especially the villains) have their backstories only explained when they die or moments before they die. This leads to characters that not only feel rushed, but also either one sided or unrelateable in some cases. It's quite jarring but a notable mention in a show such as this. One other thing that must be mentioned is the world that the show tries to create. It's very disjointed and cluttered, something that was reminiscent of the worldbuilding episode in FMA:B where it took about half the episode to describe what was happening in every country around the main country. It felt very rushed, much like the static characters. The same goes for the build up for the final episodes, for while they are very good and blood-pounding, it didn't really fit the tone of the entire show. One thing that does deserve mentioning however was the deaths of characters. Much like the early episodes of the famous Shingeki no Kyojin, Akame ga Kill isn't afraid to kill off characters(sometimes important characters) for the sake of the plot. This can sometimes come off as cheap or even bad when the characters aren't that important, but nevertheless it's a bold tactic that not many battle shounens try these days. Art, Sound, and Animation: As a White Fox show, the animation and art in Akame ga Kill really brings the world to life not only through character designs(despite the rainbow hair colors) but costume design as well. To that extent, the animation and sound effects used in the fights are very good and are used to great effect amongst all the shit in the story and terrible worldbuilding to at least try to bring the world to life. In it's season it had some of the best effects, music(especially in the Incrusio scenes), and animation, which is noteworthy in its own right. Characters: As mentioned before, a lot of the characters in the show are either underdeveloped or developed at their death. This is just poor writing in general and I'm appalled that the writers actually thought that it would work. But it worked. I actually cared for some of these characters. It's very interesting how they pulled it off through a combination of flashbacks and deaths. This however doesn't make up for the bland character personalities that were either just bland cliches or random weak motivations(Akame being a standout here). Esdeth in particular was the worst offender to this(besides being super overpowered as a fighter). Which was mostly to blame because of her whole pseudo-yandere personality mixed with blood warrior stereotypes. Closing Thoughts: But despite all these flaws, Akame ga Kill is still a very fun series that I thoroughly enjoyed. While I wouldn't recommend it to someone that is looking for a battle shounen show, if you want action that has some nice details and animation eye candy(while not notable in anyway) then you could watch this. It won't change your world, but it won't ruin your day either.

This anime is an absolute masterpiece. Everything from the character art and the story, to the plot and the sound, everything in this anime is absolutely magnificent. At first, I avoided watching it because the name didn't seem really interesting to me. Boy, was I wrong, and after a while I decided to watch it. Story - 10/10 - Let me tell you about the story. Don't worry, I won't spoil anything, or won't name any of the characters(well I maybe will at some point but not constantly). This story got me like:"Man, is this even real?". I think it's the first anime since the Death Note I couldn't have predicted till the end. I mean the plot is just really twisted, and there's no way you can know what'll happen if you don't watch the next one. People who wrote the manga, and the ones who animated it really put all the effort they could into it. The main character has a goal which he determined himself, and I won't reveal it because I said I won't spoil, and the rest just follow aswell. As you can see from the name "Akame ga Kill!", there obviously is a girl named Akame there, and yeah, she's freaking awesome. Art - 9/10 - The only flaw about this anime I could've notice was the animations at some point, and I'll rate it a 9. The animations are mostly really convincing and realistic, but they lacked a little bit of something to me. Neverthless, some of the parts where the animation isn't really good is was filled in with a really epic story, as I mentioned earlier. Sound - 9/10 - Yeaah, I'll rate this a 9 aswell. I mean it really added what the story was lacking in my head, and the sound really fits with the anime, and the OST's aren't bad aswell, I'd say. Characters - 10/10 - As I said, I won't mention any of the characters and I'll stay by that. I'll just say you'll really get emotional about them all. Enjoyment - 10/10 - As I said earlier, I really didn't wanna watch this anime at first, but when a friend of mine finally made me do it, I was really judging myself for not doing it earlier. I mean, don't let the name fool you, I've proven to myself so many times that the name doesn't mean a shit about an anime, when it can have a total shitty name and still be awesome, or have a totally awesome one and be really shitty, there's no rules. Anyways, I guarantee you won't regret watching this anime if you like Action - Adventorous anime with a slight dose of Horror in it. Sorry for the long review, I hope it helps :)

I thought the anime was actually pretty good. I felt as if some parts were rushed, though. It seems as if the characters were too quick to defeat someone, which lowered my enjoyment of the anime. However, things seems to improve later on, and the story really did manage to pull me in. It may not be perfect, but I did like the surprises that came along with the anime. It wasn't as predictable as one would assume.

From the director of Sola and Ichigi 100% comes an anime Akame ga Kill. Well..... STORY (6): The story follows Tatsumi, a skilled fighter who joined the Night Raid. The Night Raid are a group of women who are planning to overthrow Prime Minister Honest, who manipulates the young emperor for his personal gain. The story is just generic. Good guys fight bad guys and bad guys need to be stopped. They never explain enough details about what happened and why it happened just like Tokyo ESP. ART (7): The animation is good. SOUND (7): The opening and ending are good. CHARACTER (4): Ok. Here is the problem. The characters need time to develop, however, their development was completely squandered while the show is ending. Tatsumi is so generic. He is the "I want to protect people" and blah blah blah..... Akame is badass, however, she is stoic and generic. Mine, she is like a generic tsundere. However, she wasn't so annoying as compared to Stephanie Dola from NGNL. Esdeath was my favourite character in this show. She has an interesting personality throughout the entire anime. However, we never get to learn anything from her. CONCLUSION (5): What can I say? It is just average as I gave the score. I know some people might enjoy Akame ga Kill but that's fine. I don't hate this anime on the level I do with Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei. So I give this anime a 5 out of 10. As average as the show goes, as average as my score goes.

Sword fighting, gun fighting, bloodshed, this is what this anime is all about. Story [6/10] The story centers on our protagonist, Tatsumi, a fighter who goes to the city capital to try to earn money to help his village. Soon he finds out that the city is filled with corruption and soon he is recruited by a group of assassins called the Night Raid that aim to take down the city's government and end the corruption. Art [7/10] / Sound [7/10] / Character [5/10] There's some lack of detail, however fight sequences are very good not to mention the gore and excessive blood detail. The OP is great, some dual guitar riffs that got stuck in my mind, ED is good too, it transmits a dark ambient. About the characters i can say that it lacks on detail. Practically no background stories, no past, there's some relatively good comedy but inserted on wrong sections like one second we are facing a sad scene, and all of the sudden the comedy starts. Even if we look at the title, we see Akame Ga Kill, well you should be thinking the the main protagonist will be Akame, but no, there are very few appearances of her, expect for her sister story, and some fights. Other than that, Tatsumi is our "Hero", also there are no problems about loosing characters in battle here, either main or secondary which i think it's a good point, makes it feel more real. However, they just all seem like machines designed to kill, designed to be badass and have no story behind them. Enjoyment [6/10] I enjoyed the anime, the fights and characters were good looking, characters personality, however, could have been better developed for a more desirable experience. If you want some good fighting scenes, lots of blood, gore scenes without plot compromise this is for you. But if you're into something more deeper you should consider other options.

Akame ga Kill definitely had its strong points. It had a cool cast of protagonists that were really likable and entertaining to watch. You also had some pretty awesome fight scenes as well, but that's just about it. The thing about Akame ga Kill is that it has too many low points that outweigh the strong points. Standalone from the manga, the pacing for the entire series is just horrible and doesn't allow for natural character development. Characters are suddenly forced into situations that are supposed to elicit some sort of reaction from you with little to no story behind it. Nothing is explained and the series leaves you with questions that are never really answered. If you were to have read the manga, you would probably feel disappointed with what the anime was adapted to. The anime leaves out major plot devices that were really interesting in the manga. Of course, they weren't completely necessary since it worked out in the end anyway. Overall, Akame ga Kill starts off strong, but quickly, and I mean quickly, goes down hill. I'm sure that if given a longer run, the anime could have done so much better in developing characters and developing the story. However, despite the horrible pacing, Akame ga Kill is still very entertaining to watch.

Akame Ga Kill the animation is the adaptation of an unfinished manga about an assassination group known as Night Raid who are part of a revolutionary army that wants to other throw the cruel empire and most characters wield these ancient weapons known as Teigu which have special skills but only can be wielded by specific people. Story - (7/10) The story is very simple, tyranny rules a country and the people are oppressed so a revolution seeks to other throw them, a story that has been done many times but even a simple story done well can still make it unique and Akame Ga Kill manages to add a little more to the formula and that is due to the characters. Sadly though, it was rushed to the restrictions of 24 episodes and the fact that the manga is still going so changes had to be made to have an ending within 24 episodes which do weaken the anime a bit but with what they added still manages to leave you somewhat satisfied. Art - (8/10) Like most action anime the animation is fast paced and energetic and doesn't do anything too over the top. The character designs, while simple still managed to have a somewhat distinct design and the transitions of emotions, specifically the villains were done really well when showing their personality visually and that was something I really liked. Sound - (6/10) The sound and music were pretty much very generic and nothing too memorable, it sounded good but it could have been done in any other anime. The seiyu's were also good but nothing too memorable, a very safe choice to me. Character - (10/10) This is one of my main reasons why I really liked this anime, the characters were so interesting and engaging that they were so likeable. My favourite is Tatsumi and while he looks pretty simple, he had really great development. In the first episode he actually was already able to handle himself and was quite strong and despite not having a teigu he is still able to fight on near equal footing, what I liked was while he was strong, he wasn't too strong as they shown he had lots of room for improvement and each episode you see him get stronger both physically and as a character, he breaks most traditions of a main character and doesn't fall into the typical good guy category. the other characters like Akame, Bulat, Mine, etc are all very interesting and most have some really good backstories and get as much screen time to display their skills. Enjoyment - (9/10) This was a fun anime for me and left me wanting more after each episode, the story is simple but the characters make it interesting and you can get easily invested with what happens. Overall - (8/10) I would recommend this for anyone who likes battle anime where the action is intense and really engaging and character driven. While it is rushed, there are still the moments that matter a lot and doesn't feel too dragged or unnecessary, each episode had a purpose and did really well with each one.

I don't write too many many reviews, but for the sake of having something short and quick to reference when looking back on anime to recommend to other people, I've decided to do it a lot more. So here you go a short, but hopefully informative review on Akame Ga Kill. Story: Good The story (as described in the synopsis) is not the the most mind blowing or deep story out there, but it is deeper than most. Expect dark themes, comedy, tragedy, and ridiculousness packed on top of a average fantasy storyline. Art: Great VERY PRETTY.... not much else to say really. There are a few weird bits here and there, and of course Iv'e seen prettier shows, but overall I was impressed. Sound: Good I judge anime music on it chances on making it into my iTunes library. The music in this show did it's job. There were a few tracks from the OPs and EDs I would consider getting, but nothing stood out too much. All sound other than music was fine. Characters: good I liked the characters in this show, they weren't just cardboard cutouts (at least not completely). I do feel like some characters needed a little bit more time for development however. That's not to say they weren't developed at all, but I feel like I needed just a little bit more. Enjoyment: Very Good I watched the whole show in 2 days. If that's not enjoyment I don't know what is. Overall: very good It's not mind blowing, but it's not your average run-of-the-mill-cuz-we-just-need-moneys anime. So by default it is very good (which is an 8... in my mind anyway). Watch if you are in the mood for action, fantasy, dark-themed, gritty-holy-cow-how-do-you-have-so-much-blood

Action: 9/10. The action is flipping epic. Action throughout the series. Gore and epic action. People have special abilities and trump cards and as overpowered as they may seem no one is untouchable in this anime. Expect the unexpected. You'll absolutely love it. The action is fast paced. It's good stuff Story: 7/10. The story is clear enough, it has flaws and somethings are a bit vague but it's easy to follow. From episode 1-2 the anime makes it clear what's the story is about. It's clear enough. Without giving any spoilers or too much detail it's all about overthrowing a corrupt empire and building a better one. The ending is perfect so you won't be disappointed. No cliffhangers, no unanswered questions, no discomfort, it's wrapped up.This is however a dark anime. Don't expect a happy ending sort of fairy tale here. It's not for the faint hearted. This anime is a emotional shipwreck and you will be affected after watching this. Relationships are built and then destroyed within an instant without any warning whatsoever. This is one anime where you cannot predict what's going to happen and how things are going to turn out. Its quite realistic in that sense. Overall: 9/10. As an person who loves serious action anime, this is the anime for me and if you like action animes its the same for you. There's no childish action, sparing, fillers or respect for each other. It's like Claymore, Berserk and Hellsing. All out bloody war where the loser gets ultimately killed.
