A few notes before this review begins. This is a LONG review, so please read at a very convenient time. Also, this involves every single character I've used in my reviews. I would suggest you go to my user panel and read about how I rate anime and how I do my reviews before reading this review. Thank you. Now, back to our feature film. T: It looks like he's watched almost a month's worth of anime. Av: You serious? T: Yeah. Ak: How many series has he completed? T: 25, plus 14 movies and OVAs. He's rewatched a few of them, though. Ak: Like what? T: Azumanga Daioh, Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu, Negima!... Av: And they were all rated...? T: 9. He has 11 different things here rated 9. Ak: How many are tens? T: One. Av: Only one?! Which one? Death Note? Lucky Star? T: Cardcaptor Sakura. Av: WHAT?! Ak: How come? T: Not sure. I'm going to guess Sakura has something to do with it. That is his favorite character, after all. NK: I hear people talking about Sakura-chan. Av: Sakura..."chan"? NK: Yes. Sakura-chan. Did I stutter? T: Sorry. We were going through your anime list and noticed something. Ak: Why is Cardcaptor Sakura your favorite? NK: That is a very long answer. T: You have a lot rated 9, but this is the only one rated 10. NK; Yep. Kanon and Azumanga Daioh came fairly close, but there's no 9.5 rating, so I had to give them 9s Consider them the highest 9s. Av: Wait wait wait. You honestly believe Cardcaptor Sakura is the best anime? NK: That I've seen, yes. Av: This is too much. I gotta leave. T: Let's break this down, then. Simple stuff first. Art, music and voice acting. NK: We need to hold off on the voice acting for now. Remind me to bring it up later. T: Okay, then. How is the art in Cardcaptor Sakura? NK: For its age, I think CCS is very well animated. The final episode aired in Japan over ten years ago. The cards all have fitting art and the action scenes are a lot of fun to watch. The facial expressions are good, too. Ak: Don't forget the costumes! NK: Ah, yes. Sakura-chan's costumes. Forgive me if I sound a little creepy, there. T: Not a problem. I know you have the best of intentions with this anime. NK: Some of her costumes are a bit...out there. Not quite sure what to think of them. Many of them are well designed, and there are a few that I like. Ak: Which ones are your favorites? NK: The one she wears sneaking into the museum was a good costume, and her costume for the school play was really good, too. My favorite is the one she wears at the Tokyo Tower Showdown, the one that constantly appears in her dreams. T: All right. What about the music? NK: For the most part, I'd call the music average. Granted, some of the action scenes have great music and the first opening is a really good song, but everything else seems a bit average. T: How about the story? NK: Uh...geez. Where do I start? Ak: Favorite episodes - go! NK: Let's see... The episode where Syaoran first arrives at the school is a good one, and the episode with the play is good, too. I also liked the episode where Sakura-chan was sick and still went out to capture a card. The best one, though, is near the end, when...gah! I don't want to give too much away! T: There's got to be something there you can tell us. NK: Ah! It involves the Balloon Card. Suffice it to say, the Balloon Card is extremely important in that episode. T: What about the story in general? Is it too long? NK: Not at all. No episode really feels pointless, though it may seem a couple get close. The ending is fantastic, in my opinion. It ends at just the right point, exactly how it should have. Ak: Why don't any feel pointless? Isn't it long? NK: Every episode has at least an accomplishment for Sakura-chan and the others, and usually each episode shows us something new about the characters. Either it's something we haven't seen yet, or it's part of the character's development. T: Which leads us to your favorite topic, the characters. NK: The main reason to watch the series. T: How come? NK: I'm going to be honest, here. The story, though very well written, can feel a bit repetitive to some and may seem like a standard magical girl story. It won't capture every audience. The true charm to Cardcaptor Sakura is the character design. How the characters act feels very natural despite the magic in the series, and their development throughout the series is amazing. T: Your favorite character is Sakura, obviously. NK: Absolutely. She's a very easy character to connect with, and I just attached to her in an instant. She's not the best character, though. Ak: How come? T: I think the better question is: who is? NK: Tomoyo. She makes a drastic change very quickly that still feels very natural. T: And that change would be? NK: A bit of a spoiler, in my opinion. It's very obvious that she sees Sakura-chan as more than just a friend. Yet, when Syaoran appears...well, let's just say that her character description as being very selfless in regards to Sakura-chan really shows light here. T: That's about it, then- Ak: Not yet. Voice acting! T: Oh, right! Why did you save it? NK: I watched the series in Japanese. When I first was exposed to it, I watched the dub. T: I take it the voice acting was bad. NK: If that was it, I wouldn't be so upset. I can understand a difficulty in finding good voice actors, especially for children, when it comes to anime. I can also understand that some things may need to be changed due to the vast difference between the Japanese and English languages. Names, though, are not one of them. That's one gripe, but not my biggest issue. T: They changed something else, I take it? NK: When you go as far as to change a fundamental characteristic of a character, it changes the entire series. But the dub didn't stop there. They removed all context involving what I guess they considered "bad" relationships to show children. Tomoyo had so much of her dialogue manipulated that her obsession with Sakura-chan is just reduced to friendship. Meilin is also changed so much that her protection of Syaoran is just out of concern instead of her true intentions. These are extremely important to the way these characters develop, yet they're ripped away because of unnecessary censorship. T: Harsh words. NK: Harsh reality. The Cardcaptor Sakura dub is one of the worst dubs in my opinion. T: So, summary time, then. Characters? NK: Amazing. T: Story? NK: Great. T: Art and Sound? NK: Great and great. T: Who should watch it? NK: Everyone, but that's not going to happen. If you like any of CLAMP's stuff, especially Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle, watch Cardcaptor Sakura. If you're even slightly interested, watch Cardcaptor Sakura. It may seem long at 70 episodes, but it's worth it. For your sake, though, WATCH IT IN JAPANESE. I cannot stress how bad the dub is. Ak: So, do ya think this'll be your only 10 ever? NK: I hope not. Like I said, Kanon and Azumanga Daioh were close. There's gotta be another series out there worthy of a 10 from me, but I just haven't found it yet.

Cardcaptor Sakura is one of my all time favorite shows. I've seen it time and time again and I never get tired of it. It's the type of show that'll capture your heart regardless of age or gender. In my opnion this one the best works done by CLAMP, both in anime and manga. The show is an assortment of laughs, tears, confusion, wonder and much more. It is comedy and romance filled. What I find is that CCS' cuteness factor will continue to attract viewers world wide, especially fun-loving fangirls. The story develops in a way that keeps you interested until the very end, and the character relationships are very unforgetable. You just hav to love it*!~

yaaaiii~~! I just wanted to write a review of CCS because it is my most favorite anime ever.!! lol.haha I must say that Clamp has created a wonderful story about a simple girl who suddenly became a magical girl. It has its own uniqueness and children or older people can/would enjoy. [I'm still re-watching ccs, especially my favorite episodes :D]. Its central theme is to show the different relationships of human and love.. It has shown true friendship, care for family, sibling love, crushes, unrequited love and 'true love'. I liked how the story developed and ended, though I've been wanting more.lol. XD

I'm not someone who usually finishes shows, and especially not long ones. CardCaptor Sakura, although it has 70 episodes, was truly an experience and I recommend it to anyone and everyone. I understand how some people may be offput by the length, but it has so much soul and hope that I don't understand how anyone could give this a low rating. It has an energy like no other. I'm watching this decades after it's creation and it still gave me this nostalgic feelings, like I had watched this dug into soft carpet, turning the TV on in the late 90s. I love this show and the only thing I can be upset about is that I cannot rewatch all of these episodes for the first time again. It was slow at some parts, sure, but the messages are beautiful. I'm a sad person most of, if not all the time, and this show makes me feel like I'm brand new. Like it's spring again and the world is fresh within clear eyes, and everything seems okay and livable even when you're going through a lot. I really hope that everybody needs to find this show watches it.

Ah, Cardcaptor Sakura. My very first anime that I watched in Japanese and subs. For CCS to be my first anime, and given that it is a Magical Girl one, it led me to expect all anime was as cute and heart warming as this one. Well, it's been awhile, and I've seen a much more variety of anime now, so I think I could write a proper review... The story had a typical magical girl story, and even back then I noticed the patterns. Problem comes up, Sakura deals with it, and it's another victory. There were also many cute moments between the characters, and, of course it moved me a lot since it was my first time experiencing such cheesiness. The art was beautiful. Scratch that, it IS beautiful. Probably one of the best works from CLAMP. I can't really add on to this.... As for sound... Well, I was new to the whole Japanese dub thing back then, so naturally my reaction to their voices and the language was complete shock and confusion. But, when I look back on it, I think I have no right to judge the sounds. I haven't read the manga, so I can't say if I thought the voices were fitting. I fell in love with the characters. The way they treated each other, the way they spoke to each other... It changed me so much. But anime does that to people, no? But, I wish that there was a bit more development in some of the characters. Some of them left me hanging, and I wonder how their lives went on afterward. But I guess that's just whats part of the anime. To keep you wondering... Or to make you read the manga to find out more. Overall, I really loved this series. I have sentimental value in the show, and I can still catch myself humming "I am a dreamer..." It was outstanding. I'm just writing this review from plain memory, though. It's been more than 3 years since I've last watched this!

Card Captor Sakura (CCS) was actually the first anime I ever really got into, though it was not the first anime I ever watched. CLAMP did a great job with the character creation for this series and the animation itself was outstanding. I have always watched all my anime in the original Japanese with English subtitles and the choices for the Japanese voice actors were absolutely wonderful. My favourites were those who did the voices for Daidouji Tomoyo and Tsukishiro Yukito. With the English dubbed version, however, I wanted to cry. The voice actors chosen to play Sakura-san and Tomoyo-chan sounded so similar it was scary, unless they were the same actor and I just failed to notice. Kero-chan's voice actor was horrid, too. But I digress. The storyline of Card Captor Sakura has a lot of themes that an audience of varying ages can relate to, especially in the categories of learning about oneself, one's inner strength, and romance on multiple levels. CLAMP has always seemed to play on these same themes in every anime/manga they have subsequently come out with, but I will always consider Card Captor Sakura as a masterpiece and the greatest embodiment of these themes. There is a lot of cuteness, humour, and random raindrops and feathers (other things CLAMP is well-known for) in this particular series, but the best thing about it all is the way that it looks like an anime made just for a younger audience though it is actually able to be viewed, understood, and loved by anime-watchers of all ages.

I remember seeing this on TV back when I was in middle school and it was dubbed. I was extremely put off by the horrible dubbness of it all. :) However, just recently I decided to give it another chance. I'm glad I did, because I was feeling like watching a show like this. This is not a show that is going to make you cry or have any really strong emotions, but you have to remember for which age group it is intended. Ignoring that, this show has a surpising bit of romance that is actually quite developed. I felt that they dealt with this in a really mature way, and did not treat the romance in this story as childish. However, one of my main problems with this story is the sort of repetitiveness of it. The cards never seem like too much of a trial, and pretty much at the end of each episode most everything is dealt with. This is something that you find in this level of a show. Also, many things needed to be said were put off for ages because everytime someone would go to say it, they would be interrupted. This was humorous for a short time, but just annoying eventually. Overall, I enjoyed this show. It was funny and cute. It was not something I watched obssesively, like other shows, but I didn't drop it either. I feel like for a anime made for little girls, it was really well done. (Just don't watch the dub version)

Cardcaptor Sakura is pure love! For me this Anime was a nice journey! The Drawing Style has a nice touch! And the Characters are cute as Fu*k! I think there is no other Anime that´s like Cardcaptor Sakura! I found this Anime while Youtube recommended me the first Opening, its what got me in to watching Cardcaptor Sakura! --- Review --- The Story on its one is very good explained as why things happen and you can follow the setting and the feeling of the characters clearly. The Art, oof I love this Art Style of Cardcaptor Sakura, so much I even made myself a Handycase of this Artstyle, its very lovely. The Sound, 4 real like I said the first Opening Catch You Catch Me is that what brought me to watch this anime. And even the normal Soundtrack I listen to every day on my way to work. The Characters are very lovely animated as well, and the way they react to each other or like fall in love in each other is too good to watch. I really enjoyed this Anime a lot and it helped me through a hard time. Like I said Cardcaptor Sakura is pure love!

Too often I find myself binge watching and rushing through series after series so that I can watch more of what I have missed that the medium has to offer. With Cardcaptor Sakura, a mahou shoujo title, I had initially started rushing through it and by the time I realized I had 20 episodes left I found myself intentionally prolonging the conclusion. That doesn't happen to me ever, and it's evidence enough for me that what I've just been through was something special. Cardcaptor Sakura begins on the premise that a young girl receives magical powers and to attain more of these abilities and further her magic she must collect all of the cards she had inadvertently scattered in a similar way to a monster collection show such as pokemon. This premise is simple and easily exploitable to drag out and merchandise. Thankfully, the writers behind Cardcaptor Sakura approach this series with a near perfect balance of childhood enchantment and mature subtlety. Joined by those she holds dear, Sakura Kinomoto stands out as a strong female protagonist. Through expressing the virtues of trust in your friends and faith in yourself, we are reminded again and again that a protagonist doesn't always need to be hardened by the trials they face. You can't help but rejoice each time the fanfare begins as Sakura triumphs the obstacles in her way, pushing through self doubt time and time again. Of course, this alone would not be enough to elevate this series alone, as the action is only one part of a greater whole. In a title such as Cardcaptor Sakura, the moments of downtime between challenges are just as important. It is in these slice of life moments where you are reminded that Sakura is just a little girl trying to balance her role as the cardcaptor with her roles as a student, sister, friend, and daughter. The aforementioned subtlety is introduced here through the mature writing of character relationships and is what makes the series enjoyable even as an adult. Cardcaptor Sakura is a title that lives up to the praise it's received even after many years and the inevitable dating of its artistry and sound design. To call it a classic is perhaps an understatement.

Cardcaptor Sakura anime review. Warring this review may contain spoilers. First impressions, when looking back as my years as a child. I realize that I had actually all ready watching anime. Of course at the time I didn't realize that I was watching anime. And this show was one of them. After getting into anime officially I decided to take a trip down memory lane and finish a show from my childhood. Story,5/10 Are story begans with sakura kimomoto a 10 year old girl who is just liveing for life to the fullest. But one day while cleaning her father study. She comes across a mysterious book which she opens, Which contains a set of magic cards called the clow While trying to figure out what they are she accidentally spreads them across the world which a magic wind. Awakening the garden kero who tasks Sakura to get the clow cards back before they cause chaos and the worse case scenario the end of the world. Now to be honest here my experience with the magical girl genre is kind of limited at best because I Only seen 3 show so far this included. But aside that. The Main plot is pretty basic and bare bones. It's essentially Card of the week adventures. with sakura and co finding the cards and stoping them from causing to much chaos as possible, While sakura is dressing up In different outfits. Which is perfectly fine if your a child or a young adult and you just want to watch this as Saturday morning cartoon fluff. Because it pretty straight forward In plot and story telling. Because you pretty much guess what going on or what's going to happen. Like for example sakura older brother who she kind of doesn't get along with all the time, Who Just happens to have a part time jobs near the area of where Sakura and a clow card are in the near by area. Of course I am not saying that it's so simple that even an adult can't like this show, Because even though it is very painfully simple and pretty predictable there is quite a bit of adult context to it. Especially when you get into the whole back ground plot that also going On. Like for example in one episode we find out that this girl in sakura class who has a crush on a teacher who actually also share those feelings as well. Along with a bunch of other weird things the throw In as well, which you will probably pick up on very quickly. Of corse this being the kind of story it is. It takes these kind of mature situations at face value and kind of cherry picks them to make these situations more innocent than they actually seem. Which kind of makes the show a bit more interesting. Than just your run of the mill kids show And it's quite nice for the story to try and maintain its child like innocence while giving slight winks to adult viewers. Which should be given credit. But there are quite a few issues I did have with the story. Even though it has this over arcing plot going down with a bunch of other things in the back ground and even makes you feel it's going to build up to something good. But The actual conclusions are pretty week over all and doesn't really manage to build up itself well. Although at this point I was watching it more for the kinky romances and the actual core story. Because it actually had progression and I was kind of getting bored with the whole card thing. It also didn't help that most of the time the where repeating the same thing. Over and over again in till it loses most of its punch. I thought there would be a bit more variety is what I am trying to say. Characters,6/10 Sakura I thought she was a fine character. Because she actually acted like a kid her actual age. She was very hopeful and innocent and always wanted to help people. Of corse she not best main character. But for what she is in she fine. The side characters where all fine. There really isn't that much special or note worthy Especially when compared to other casts I have seen. They all have ok personality and I can actually tell the characters apart. Although the characters are pretty basic. The only thing that actually note worthy is pretty much how none of them gives a fuck about sexuality and if they feel something for someone they go for it no question asked. Which I think is actually interesting and a very mature take on that. Because they don't actually don't draw much attention to it and they just let it play out as is. Also because of this fact the character interactions can get a little weird at times. I wasn't bothered by it. But it can get kind of get a little to touchy at times. Like you have this one scene with this one women who loved the main character dead mother and kind of hates the main character father for giving her the best years of her life before she died. And I thought that was pretty intense and something you don't she very often. Art,6/10 The animation looks quite nice actually even though it quite dated by today standards, But I think that also a plus because it doesn't look to bright and shiny like you get quite a few magical girl shows, Because To be honest some of those shows animation can get a bit to bright for my liking. It has this nice cute look to it, Which isn't to much in your face and doesn't over step it's welcome, It just presented as is and I like that more than something trying to be overly cute, Because I can only handle so much kawaii at a time before my power core burns out from to much kawaii. I like the character designs, Because I quite like this kind of old school shoujo designs. Sound, 5/10 I liked the first op because it was energetic and quite relaxing, But the rest didn't really stand out to me. Like it not bad because it fits very well with the show, But it doesn't really click with me. The ost was fine nothing really did stick out, It was done by Takayuki Negishi , Who also worked on Tokyo mew mew, Tokyo maijin, card fight vanguard. I liked both the dub and the sub, Because there ok. Enjoyment, 5/10 I actually enjoyed this show more than I thought I would. Because it was relaxing and very light hearted which was kind of something I haven't watched in a while, So I enjoyed the change of pace. I also enjoyed that it. Handled it's self in a mature way. Overall, 6/10 Now if your looking for a show that you can kick back and relax with the kids then probably check this show out, because it pretty much a standard magical girl show, But with more of an adult context to it. If you don't like clamp and shoujo type shows then probably stay clear.

When it comes to anime, I am usually not a fan of magical girl shows, but I felt like this was a particularly exceptional series. I don't think that this is the best anime series I'd ever seen, but I think it stands out as a pretty good one that deserves recognition. What sets Cardcaptor Sakura apart from most other magical girl series are the costume transformation scenes, for one. In most other magical girl shows, the protagonists typically have fancy transformation scenes before they engage the villains in battle. The "costumes" are usually the same every battle with some small changes later in the series to indicate some kind of newfound power that the magic users have discovered within themselves. In CCS, Sakura dons a different costume each episode thanks to a special someone who provides her with them. It is a refreshingly different take on the "transformation scenes." In the world of CCS, LGBT relationships and romances are normalized and accepted in the same way hetero dynamics are which I found to be interesting since I don't commonly see this in other anime, especially magical girl ones. There aren't any questions about the romantic orientation among the characters; the ones with LGBT leanings, speculated or confirmed are just "themselves" and they are embraced with open arms just like any hetero character. The way the creators of CCS approached this anime was very progressive and "outside the box" especially for its time and genre. The episodes start out similarly to a "monster of the week" series, but eventually evolve to become something a bit bigger towards the end. All of the episodes are connected together to weave into a bigger story, so it's recommended to watch everything in order. The initial opening and ending themes are quite catchy and memorable, the later ones in the series...not so much, but that is just my opinion. I wasn't the biggest fan of the art style, namely most of the adults or older kids (the teens) due to their awkwardly tall, exaggeratedly lanky bodies. I dislike some of CLAMP's designs for this. Otherwise, the art is nice, especially the design of the "spirits" of the cards. I didn't expect to enjoy or like the series as much as I did, but I loved it and have raved about it to just about anyone who would listen. Not much holds my attention lately, so I was surprised that a series out of my typical preferred genre did. I found Sakura a bit annoying as a main character due to her whiny-ness, but I guess that could have been worse. One thing I disliked about her character was that she always seemed to need others to tell her when to use certain cards or make decisions for her instead of figuring most things out herself. One way to look at that, however, is to remember that realistically, she's just a kid taking on new, big responsibilities. I can see how that can be overwhelming. Every episode after the end credits, a particular character from the series enthusiastically shares fun facts about various things featured in each episode. I thought this was a fun approach to become better acquainted with the characters and familiarizing with the details of the show if you are a fan. I didn't expect to enjoy or like the series as much as I did, but I loved it and have raved about it to just about anyone who would listen. Not much holds my attention lately, so I was surprised that a series out of my typical preferred genre did. I highly recommend this series as an introduction to the magical girl type shows, or for any magical girl show lover (if you're looking for something a bit different.)

From the summary, Cardcaptor Sakura may just seem like your typical magical girl manga and that's true. While the plot is that of your "typical magical girl story", the characters are so unique and realistic that you'll find yourself enjoying the anime regardless of the plot. Story: (7) While I absolutely ADORE this anime, I have to say the plot is very stereotypical for magical girl anime. Just basically collect something that's disturbing the normal way of life of a place. There are quite a few plot twists that are very interesting in the story, but that doesn't make it too complex. The story is so simple even a 5 year old can watch it and understand, but hat doesn't make it childish or boring. I think the best part about Sakura Cardcaptor is just the fact that anyone of ANY age can enjoy it. Art: (10) I was surprised when I discovered the anime was made during the 90s!! For that time, the animation is EXTREMELY well done! Not only that, but every character had a unique appearance and wore some very adorable clothes! (Sakura mostly when it comes to the clothes part) The way the cards would just swerve as water to the card when captured was also very beautiful to stare at, no matter how ridiculous that may sound. Even when comparing this anime with the more recent ones, the art and animation are of great quality and very appealing to the eyes :) Sound: (9) The character voices were really well done, especially for the time when the anime was made! The songs also were catchy and fit into the situations very well. Even now, after nearly 10 years since I first watched the series, I listen to its songs quite often. I even have quite a couple in my I-pod! Character: (10) This is where the anime shows its true brilliance! The characters all had unique personalities and were very realistic! The way relationships change was done very smoothly and very realistically. You will truly feel sad, angry, happy, or almost any emotion the characters feel as you go along each episode. They truly will lure you in and create a sense of intimacy by the end of the series. Loved most of the characters when I was four, love them still! Enjoyment: (10) I rewatched this anime just recently, and more than once. It brought back memories of my childhood and didn't seem childish at all compared to the other anime I would watch at that age. It's something I watched over, over, and over and don't get tired of it! If you enjoyed it the first time and are planning to re-watch it, I encourage you to do so! You won't be disappointed :) Overall: (9) While it may lack a bit in originality when it comes to story; the characters, the nice songs, and the wonderful art make-up for it big time and make this one of my favorite anime of all time! It's just a wonderful series that anyone of any age or gender can enjoy, I think. Personally, I am SO showing this to my kids when I become a mom! XD

Where do I begin? This is a show I have wanted to watch for a while and I’m ashamed I put it off for so long. The story is incredible. So much fun every episode with a consistent motive that drives the story forward and makes it so it is never boring. On top of that, I love the art! I know some may not but to me it is so gorgeous! The background, the characters, the magic! Beautiful. Additionally, I have both openings and some of the other songs downloaded on my playlists! They are so fun and set the tone well. My only problem, which is somewhat big, is the repeating teacher/student relationships mentioned. Not really a spoiler but this is the dynamic between Sakura’s parents (one example, eek). They talk about it a lot and they don’t glorify it per se but they definitely don’t shame it. That aside, the rest of the characters and relationships are outstanding! The build up to romantic relationships was fun and rewarding and I am a sucker for loyal friendships! Almost all the characters were able to grow throughout the series without one overshadowing the other, it was all within reasonable time which I appreciated. This show is amazing and as much as I wish there was more, I also believe this is just enough. I will miss it!

Well, as you all know, this has to be one of the most "known" anime not just because it is watched by many, but the concept of it all were very simillar with other fantasy or shoujo powered girls. The story is a usual 'girl finding some kind of mysterious 'item' that gives her power and becomes magical' theme. As would comment, you'd say its no different compared to anything that you have watched, and i doubt that anybody from this website or anyother blog of whatsoever havent watched this kind of anime theme. But to assure you, most animes started from this long storied/episoded anime. Moving on to the anime, Cardcaptor Sakura is a girl who found a magical book that there, lived/guarded a protector called keroberos who claimed that he was guarding cards sealed by a sorcerer who was all powerful. The cards were filled with magic of all kinds " water, wind, fire, earth, tree, rain, dark, light etc..' and was supposed to be sealed. Unknowing that all the cards have been dissappeared except for one, he assigned the girl 'Sakura' to get them all back before a tremor would happen. As the story goes, along with her friend Tomoyo, she meets a boy who was to collect the cards as well, followed by his 'fiance'. Story goes furthermore to the end after collecting all the 'Clow cards' . Another battle was to occur, from an enchanting boy, who claimes to be the rebirth of Clow, who had no motive in defeating them, was to only test their strength and for Sakura to change the 'Clow cards to Sakura cards', also for him to know that she is able to take care of the cards. 'Defeated' they retreated to england and finally the story was finished with words Sakura did not expect from Li, Syaoran saying that he is inlove with her, it was cut and put to end with him also leaving Japan to go back to Hongkong in which the movie' The sealed card' continous the love story. Now, my review, the story wasnt short but it was sweet. The ending though, was cut, but it made you want more. The love of Syaoran to sakura, was getting obvious in the 2nd season, so you would expect that he would say 'I love you' anymore sooner, but the awaiting momment for the reply was pushed to the second movie, so it was kinda uptight. The story in which the friendship grew more and trust was leveled up and choices had to be taken were all worth while. The charcaters have good parts in which your heart would suddenly burst with excitement through love or laughter in such a way you'd smile with enjoyment. The art i would care for, was expected to be fine, especially that it was made in 1996, you wouldnt expect something like Final Fantasy VII or so in that time, so basically it was greatly drawn, especially in times of battle. The anime, is a classic favorite of all, its not no.1 but if we were back then it wouldve topped the charts. i wouldnt know though, since i wasnt born til '97 but the enjoyment would last for more years to come. ~~ hope you liked my review, if not, i might have expected that, since im very young. please comment in my profile if you have any suggestions or comments with my review. Thanks for reading~~

This show was one of the first animes I Ever saw and even older I still Enjoy it. Not only that but Guys and girls would like it. Story: Ok so the story is kinda basic. Girl meets magical beast gos on a quest and learns about her self. However there are a few little twists on the way to keep you entertained not to mention it can be very funny. Art: Ok the art is flawless. Lets face it Clamp draws everything beautifully with a lot of detail. Sound: Well it fits the show even if its nothing to write home about. Which I think is a merit in it's self. Since it only enhances what you see. Character: Here is the true value of the show the characters are very real and flawed. You can genuinely enjoy watching Sakura and her brother interact. Each one brings something so that even if the episode isn't about the actual captureing of the ards you still enjoy watching it. Also if you watch it subbed which is really the only way to do it. The voices fit perfectly. I enjoyed the show and I would say anyone that dosen't minda little pink should watch it

Cardcaptor Sakura is an anime I should have watched when I was a kid, I'd somehow missed this one when I was drowning in magical girl anime at the ripe old age of preteen but damn I'm glad I didn't so I could experience its comfort when I needed it the most. I wasn't expecting to finish the entire series, I thought I'd give episode 1 a shot, say "awe that's cute" and then never think about it again, maybe go back to watching something seasonal. Instead, I remembered why I started watching anime in the first place. It would be easy to go on about how creative Cardcaptor is with its approach to the magical girl genre but the real reason why I love it so much is because I never felt like I had to force myself into continuing the series. Every episode gave me that nostalgic childlike sense of hope and encouragement that everything will be alright.

Cardcaptor Sakura is brilliant. A classic animé with a myriad of good elements. The characters that you meet are all likable and enjoyable to watch. The main characters especially are intriguing and the character growth that you see in Sakura and Syaoran throughout the series is believable. This still stands as one of my all-time favourite animés from when I was a kid, although the Japanese version is MUCH better then the English translation. The storyline itself is original and even though some may find the action lacking or the card-catching scenes repetitive, it still strikes a chord and puts a smile on your face. I really do recommend trying it out if you haven't already.

This show is one of the best Mahou Shoujo series' I've ever watched. It does a masterful job of telling its story, and defying tropes as to get the best result for the story. ==Story== 10/10 Cardcaptor Sakura's story is rather similar to most other Mahou Shojou series', a young girl finds some sort of magic thing and a magical familiar and has to fight some force of magic. Similarly, the story is also highly focused on slice of life and romance. Sakura has a relatively common crush on her brother's best friend(technically romantic partner), and for the first half of the series, that's mostly all she gets. The story definitely gets more interesting when Syaoran/Xiaolang Li appears, acting as a rival in capturing the cards, and while at first, he's cold and harsh to her, seeing her as incompetent, as he spends more time with her, his view of her eventually softens, and he becomes good friends with Sakura. the story development for both the magical component and the romance/slice of life blend seamlessly, and the development of the romantic subplots are very smooth and believable. A disclaimer is needed though, there is homosexual romance and mild incest romance, but this doesn't matter, as Cardcaptor Sakura's love is a pure form of love, in which two characters care for eachother deeply, are very open to each other. ==Art== 8/10 Cardcaptor Sakura has a specific art style that works well for the series, but may not be preferred for some people. Its animation and art is done well for a series released in 1999, and its art style turned comical will encourage laughter in the funny moments, while changing to accommodate the more serious parts. ==Sound== 10/10 The soundtrack never seems to be one of the things people talk about when talking about this show. The openings and endings are very good to listen to, but the soundtrack really shines in the background music, which regularly changes to best fit the mood of the scene. When I watched the show, the soundtrack was something I regularly thought was good. ==Character== 10/10 The characters all have clearly defined personality traits, and nearly always act based on those traits. Sakura Kinomoto is a happy-go-lucky girl who's nearly always smiling. Her best friend Tomoyo Daidouji is a kind and caring girl, who's a tad bit obsessive for those she cares about, and she's also the in universe shipper. Syaoran/Xiaolang Li is a hardworking and serious boy who deeply cares for the people in his life, even if he doesn't openly show it. Each of the characters are like-able but don't seem fake. My personal favorite character is likely Meiling Li, Syaoran's lover, for reasons that won't be obvious until you get later into the series. ==Enjoyment== 9/10 Cardcaptor Sakura always tries its best to either be fun, funny, or serious, but it never rushes to get to those points, and each episode feels well paced. ==Flaws== The series drags on at times, and is a bit slow to start, but nothing compared to the likes of Shounen. It does also feel repetitive at times.

One of the best magical girl series, a masterpiece from clamp. Each episode well written with outstanding character development. Totally enjoyable to young viewers and also suitable for older ones as well. Pros: - Cute little animation as for 90's series; may have remake for OVA in future - Character development - Well written plot Cons: - Lack of traditional Villian
