I must confess, I didn't finish this anime until very recently, even though I did start it around two years? (Around the same time I finished the first season). The reason is, the transitions between scenes became very annoying and not enjoyable as much as the first season, however as I gave a second chance, I found out it was rare the number of episodes that had such transitions. This story revolves a lot more around mystery and suspense, which was pretty enjoyable after the light approach of the first season. Also, the fact that it had an actual plot instead of being random jobs/cases per episode, were also a nice change, and made a lot more sense. I liked the way some characters were worked around, and their development. The art style is simply beautiful, reminding me of Fate UBW and Fate Zero's style which is absolutely breathtaking. The animation is incredibly well made, even the fight scenes, instead of using CGI as some animes which make the fights look weird and not smooth at all - fortunately this is not the case for Re: Hamatora. Even though I did like the story and art, and the soundtrack wasn't bad either, I can't give higher in characters and enjoyment. Despite that a lot of characters are well developed, I wish they could have developed the stories of other characters, further, rather than only focus in Hajime, Nice and Art. Sure they are the most important characters of the story, however it would be nice to have others in the spotlight. Some traits of Nice's and Hajime's development didn't please me either, nor how they made Nice look completely hopeless on surviving (house chores and such) without Murasaki, basically putting Murasaki as a "wife-character" on several episodes instead of making use of his maturity, wisdom and Minimum. Sure he had his spotlight, but on the end they turned it a bit in comedy. Enjoyment, can't go higher than 7, for what I mentioned (the transitions) as it made me put this on hold for several months. Not only that, the fact the story took so long to come to a conclusion (mainly the "bad guys" winning almost everything in every episode) would sometimes make me a bit bored, and as such I can't give much to the enjoyment. However, overall it was an anime that I enjoyed, and transitions aside, I liked it far better than the first season.

If you are reading this, thanks, you just made my day, pls let me know! Okay, I'm just astonished with what I just saw, please do not take my 6 for granted, my thing is to undervalue the ratings I give, for example, I haven't watched that much of anime, but none felt like a truly 10. THIS REVIEW CONTAIN MINOR SPOILERS. Now the review, this season fixed so many things from the previous one that I'm skeptical if I should give a 7-8 for this anime. I personally don't like to follow the guidelines, most because of this anime is super underrated, hardly anyone will read it and if you wanna check the story, art and sound, all of the others ones will present it, i'll just make a special regards to the soundtrack which is amaziiiiing, the opening, the ost, even the proper soundtrack during the episode. One of the major problems of the first season is slow-pacing, now I understand it had to be that way so we could understand what the hamatora world is, even though I think it could be different, the first season impressed me so much for a low-budget anime adapted from an unknown manga. The second season changed this completely, all the episodes are focused on explaining things they didn't before, such as how the minimum works, the origin of the strange names(that's actually pretty dope), since the kids who were identified with minimum potential were brought to the facultas academy, they didn't have proper names, so they would give numbers, Hajime for ex, was the name nice gave to 01, so we can assume that nice, birthday, three, honey were similar. Not only that, we could understand who the master was, a.k.a the boss of the café, in the whole animé only in one scene he's called by his real name, Masuta. not only that, he started to make more influential participation on the saga, we later discover that he's a former facultas doctor and it was he who took hajime and koneko out of the academy when they were kids. The series also had always this mood for jokes and comedy, sometimes these scenes were too cringey, but on the second season they had some eleborated ones that made me laugh so hard. One thing though, the transition between scenes were awful, really, sometimes it broke the imersion on the episode, some scenes would last less than 1 minute, and to realocate to the other scene, they put some kind of wallpaper with the hamatora logo on it with one of the sound effects. How they built the villain was beyond good, they did it so fuck1ng well, the second season was so good that made the so so first season better, congrats for the studio, they made an excelent sequel. Anyhoo, this anime is super underrated, I highly recommend it to watch before sleep or on a chill day, it doesn't have the best of the stories, it doesn't have an innovative script, but is good, its fun, I really enjoyed.

This is a really tough one to be honest cause I finished the show with mixed feelings. The first season of Hamatora was pretty mediocre when you ask me it lacked many things that would help the anime standing out in front of others. The storyline was really not that clear in terms of understanding as well as being confusing at points. To conclude my little foreword about the first season I really didn't have high expectations about the second season so maybe that is the reason why I enjoyed the second season much more. Story: 7/10 The story is actually split up as I would call it because although you get left with a huge cliffhanger at the end of season 1 the second season tells it's own story or maybe you could call it a successor. This really bothers me for the sake of the first season that we as the viewers didn't really get a conclusion about basically anything. Regarding the second season it feels a little bit similar in many points but surely not in the extent as in comparison to season 1. The reason I found the storyline good this time apart from not few cases is that the story followed an idea that was executed solidly and left me in really enjoying how the next episode could possibly look like or what happens next. Also keep in mind that it's a huge improvement in comparison to the first season which also weighs heavily on my impression. Art: 6/10 Regarding this I don't think that there could possibly be much to talk about but I think the Art was quite nice but again not outstandingly astonishing or something in those categories but still pretty decent. In some scenes it seemed to me that the Art is cheaply made e.g at cutsences although they probably wanted it to appear like that. Sound: 6/10: I really only gave six out of ten for this one because the music altogether wasn't bad but in a certain extent also wasn't appealing to me. Nevertheless, I think the music matched the Anime pretty well and I also want to point out the openings and endings at this point that are really nice sounding tracks that also have a supportive character for this Anime Characters: 7/10 I think all in all there were enough characters to be one the one hand despicable and on the other to be really likeable like our Hamatora crew that really united a variiety of different chacarters and also each and every other character who was fighting e.g for his or her's goals and ideals. Admittably said there was not that much character development which isn't even bad because many things in the storyline had many connections to the past so there was no reason for the characters to develop to a certain extent. Enjoyment: 7/10 If you managed to keep up and decided to watch the second season after the rather mediocre season 1 and also hopefully don't have to high anticipation chances are you really enjoy the second season to a certain amount. Overall: 7/10 Last but not least, do I recommend watching this? As written under Enjyoment you have to watch the first season to get to the good part which is this season but I think the normal Anime audience will have some fun watching this.

My review will contain thoughts of both season SEASON 1 : before start talking I wanna note that i will talk just about story for the first season and sound and animation will be in the second arason'review. The first few episodes were super boring the show itself felt slow nothing much happening and the events were bad I almost drop it I was literally forcing myself to continue wellyou can tell the anime had really a bad start however after couples episodes we witnessed unexpected ending regardless I liked the atmosphere in this I've no idea how to explain it exactly but for some reason it was unique and not like other stuff you have watched for the lack that anime had I'll just season1 6/10. SEASON 2 : beautiful I believe that's the correct word to identify the second season it was almost perfect, it require a huge effort to give such a strong sequel after an average and weak prequel , story has some really unexpected moments a and like WTF just happened the story kept progressing im the right direction i was really satisfied about the plot after the big frustration that season one gave me otherwise some people didn't like the ending for one reason which is "ART" ! that's the only thing I can't say because Rarely spoil in my reviews however for my perspective I believe the ending was fantastic even that it was so emotional xD , it can be super confusing for some of few so I highly recommend checking Reddit there is a decent explanation there so what happened at the end was satisfying after pushing myself through season 1 It worth it . the animation wasn't the perfect one but it's not bad or something it just feels like has lack of colors lol besides that I liked the characters so I don't have any issues with em moreover the soundtrack were amazing especially during events also it's has a good opening songs

Reason for watching: I have watched the first season; to finish what I started. TL;DR: The story is disappointing and messy, with the cast playing as much of a role as a cut out standee. But there are certain plots that provide closure to certain events in season 1 and also the art style is much calmer (less vibrant). As reviewed for season 1, there were things about the anime that I am not agreeable with, and I wasn't expecting those "issues" to be adjusted/rectify in any way in season 2. Honestly, I was just expecting season 2 to have more punch to its story lines. I mean, after watching a whole season, I have more or less gotten used to the story style. This review is solely focused on Season 2 contents. I will break down this review into sections that I am concerned with: Story, Characters, and Art style. Firstly, <Story>, I do think there are 2 parts of this, the concept/idea, and the execution. Regarding the concept, the main story for season 2 is, for a lack of a better word, weak. There are some stories that you can grasp the overall gist of it right from the start, some you can even guess the pivot idea that the story will revolve around. And as for Re:_Hamatora, the story and underlying details are not clear from the start, which I am absolutely fine with. These type of story telling demonstrates the "Mystery" element. But, so much for all the times that I dismiss my doubts and confusion, thinking the ending will make sense of all these, Re:_Hamatora really did not deliver a "complete" story. The pivot of the whole story ultimately did not solves any of my doubts. Half of the many plots that build the story (which is 10 - 11 episodes worth) were essentially redundant. There were absolutely no reason for some of the actions taken by the characters, they don't move the story forward, they don't give more character development, they were just there. Before the reveal of the trigger for this whole story, I had thought all the plots have their meaning. Even if there were no practical reason for some plots to exist, maybe they exist to portray the character's psychological state. But nope, after all is revealed, I cannot, for the love of anime, find any reason for those plots to exist. The story is weak, for the core of it all does not warrant all those meaningless plots. Is like trying to eat spaghetti strand by strand using a spoon. The core of it all is to eat, JUST eat, but doing it strand by strand is meaningless, and using a spoon, is just not the best way to do it. It might have been better if they did not reveal the core of the story and just leave it as a Mystery. There are plots that were done well enough and can be a build up to a much stronger and worthy (smaller arc) concept. Next part of <Story> would be the execution. The issue that I am most annoyed about is the transition from scene to scene. I could have done a better transition with Microsoft Powerpoint. There is absolutely no plus point with those transitions. In fact, it breaks the atmosphere that the story line was trying to exhibit with its out of character art style. Every transition feels like a commercial break, making it hard to concentrate wholeheartedly into the story. I can only think of those transitions as a means to lengthen the anime show time. Putting that aside, I had thought season 1's execution was incoherent, but still manageable when I try hard to infer the story line from the nuances of other scenes. But this season really is trying to test my inference skills as though I am Sherlock Holmes. Unfortunately, I am not, and the execution of this season was even more incoherent than season 1. The confusion that I have here are definitely different than the ones I have on the story concept I mentioned above. The scenes were cut more frequently than I can appreciate, switching to unrelated scenes with different story line exhibiting different atmosphere, I get that there are events that happen concurrently, but I am sure jumping back and forth between them at every 2 lines of conversation isn't how you portray those story. It just makes it difficult to be fully absorbed into the story that the anime wishes to tell. Secondly, characters. Out of the whole cast, Art was the only one that had the potential to make the plot bloom. As mention for the review of season 1, I do think that the personas of the main cast (including Art) were decent and quite to my liking, they were fun and had the potential to develop even more. Is just that with Art, his character had the ability to develop the story, whereas, the other characters can only be develop by the story's development. I hope I can describe it better. In other words, the story plots and ideas can be inspired/caused/developed by Art's backstory, current background, psychological state, etc. While the other cast as well as Art can have their character development achieved through those stories and plots spurred from Art. Is because I see such potential in Art throughout season 2, that I was expecting the story concept to be one that could have make use of him well. With Art as the leading antagonist of season 2, the overall concept and the story ending definitely disrespects Art. With that concept and ending, the antagonist could have just be some new character or any of the main cast. There was more build up to Art's development than there was a build up to the story as a whole. The anime literally developed Art throughout all 12 episodes and end it by negating those development. Another character to note is Hajime, I do think she is an interesting character and her backstory is interesting too. But there wasn't any real insight to her character and her as a person. If I were to judge her base on the story line, she is definitely interesting. If I were to judge her base on her actions, she is just one ignorant brat that is less useful than Koneko. Overall, this season doesn't showcase any of the main cast's characters and their development. You can create a season 3 with the same concept as season 1, and I will have no expectations that things will turn out differently. The side characters are alright, no depth and plain but they did serve their purpose, so not much I can say about them. Lastly, the art style. I do prefer the art style this season as compared to season 1. The main difference is the change in the colour scheme used, and also how their powers are portrayed. The colour scheme is darker this season, it as was colourful and vibrant, but it wasn't sinister or scary. The darker colour scheme accentuates the story lines better and helps create the appropriate atmosphere for the plots. They also changed how they portray their powers which is a big plus for me. The powers in this season looks more sophisticated and much cooler. The change in this portrayal is like going from Disney to Marvel. To end it all, if you have not even watch season 1, then probably don't start.
