Not much difference between the original show except for the length of the episodes. I would call it a continuation rather than specials. Some episodes last 10 minutes, some last 6 minutes. Regardless, I enjoyed it almost as much as the original. Mangaka-san to Assistant-san to The Animation Specials has no story development, and each episode is its own. I would consider this show as humorous, among other things. If you found the original show good, you should watch this. This was one of the better specials I've seen in a while. All in all, recommended! The opening and the ending stayed the same, and the soundtrack in general hasn't really changed, either.

If you enjoyed the main story, Mangaka-san to Assistant-san to The Animation, then you'll enjoy this. It has very much the same feel as the main series, its full of lighthearted humor, funny characters but not much of a story. The OVA does focus a bit more on the other main characters besides Aito, such as Ashisu, and we see a bit more of the editor in chief Matome. The episodes are only 6-12 minutes long and there is no story line that lasts more than a single episode. Despite not having much of a story this OVA still had me laughing many times in the space of a single episode. I would highly recommend this OVA and its main story for anyone looking for a short anime with plenty of laughs.

An extra treat for fans of the series. Mangaka-san to Assistant-san to The Animation Specials is exactly what the title suggests: a small collection of bonus episodes released alongside the Blu-ray versions of the original anime. As supplementary content, these are short episodes that hold no significant weight regarding the main plot's development; instead, they serve primarily as an opportunity to see the familiar characters in a few more situations. The premise remains the same as the original series, focusing on comedy, absurd scenarios, and the interactions between the protagonist, Aito Yuuki, and the girls who are part of his daily life as a manga artist. If you’ve watched the main anime, you know exactly the kind of humor to expect here: jokes revolving around Aito’s quirks, awkward situations, moments of fanservice, and the characters' reactions to the protagonist's questionable behavior. There is no attempt to present anything vastly different from what we’ve seen before, though, to be fair, these specials don't really need to. Since the episodes are short, the pacing is brisk and straightforward, without any filler or the need to build an elaborate narrative. The goal is simply to deliver a few extra comedic scenes for those who enjoyed the original work and want to spend a little more time with the cast. In this regard, the specials do their job well. While not essential viewing, they provide some fun moments and serve as a pleasant bonus for anyone not quite ready to say goodbye to the characters. Visually, the animation maintains a satisfactory quality, keeping up with the standard set by the main series. It isn't anything extraordinary or technically outstanding, nor does it need to be, given that the nature of these shorts doesn't call for grand action sequences or a particularly ambitious production. What matters here is that the characters remain expressive and the comedic situations land effectively, areas where the animation succeeds without issue. Another plus is that these episodes fit relatively easily into the experience of anyone who watched the anime. As supplementary content, they don't require a huge time commitment and can be watched quickly, without the viewer needing to worry about major plot shifts or events that will be picked up later. However, it is precisely this supplementary nature that also limits the experience. Those who didn't enjoy the original anime are unlikely to find a reason to watch these specials, as they don't offer a different approach or attempt to fix the series' flaws. Likewise, for anyone looking for character development or narrative progression, the experience will likely feel inconsequential. Ultimately, Mangaka-san to Assistant-san to The Animation Specials is a simple, fun extra designed primarily to please fans. It isn't particularly memorable or essential, but it manages to deliver a few extra comedic moments without complicating what already worked in the original series. If you enjoyed the anime and want to spend a little more time in that universe, it’s worth checking out. On the other hand, if you have no interest in the characters or the show's humor, you can safely skip it without missing anything important. Raiting: 6/10. Nota: 6/10.
