I Can't Understand What My Husband Is Saying

Even though there are a lot of other reviews already, after watching this show and really enjoying it, I felt a little obliged to write if only but a few lines about it. This is quite a funny series of short episodes based on an idea of an otaku actually marring someone and having his own kind of a family life. It turned out to be really funny with it's simple and straightforward humor and parodies, yet the show has an actual plot line with a logical and solid conclusion. The artwork is really cute and nice looking, having it's own style. Though, being a short, it's not surprising to see most backgrounds reused and often blurred, although the are a few quite detailed ones. The other aspects are just decent, witch is acceptable for such type of a show. The VA is satisfying, as for the music, aside from the ED, there isn't much of it. Sound effects are okay too. Speaking of characters, they are fine too, though just a cardboards, aside from two main characters, that get some development and backdrop. Then again, it's mostly a simple comedy, so it'd be rude to ask for much. In the end, this is a comedy slice of life show, and I did enjoy it and laughed during almost every episode. It was over before I knew it. STORY: 6/10 Premise: 1/2 — A cool and simple idea. Pacing: 2/2 — Really good. Complexity: 1/2 — None whatsoever. Plausibility: 1/2 — There is a reason when they're not joking around. Conclusion: 1/2 — Not explicitly stated, but satisfying. ARTWORK: 6/10 General Artwork: 2/2 — Good production values. Character Figures: 1/2 — Cute and basic. Backgrounds: 1/2 — Simple with a few detailed ones. Animation: 1/2— Basic, though works well. VFX: 1/2 — Nothing too impressing. SOUND: 4/10 Voice Acting: 2/3 — Pleasant to the ear. Music Themes: 1/4 — Not much of it, just the ending theme. SFX: 1/3 — They're there. CHARACTER: 4/10 Presence: 1/2 — Nice cardboards. Personality: 1/2 — Simple. Backdrop: 0/2 — A minimum of it. Development: 1/2 — There is some for the main pair. Catharsis: 1/2 — A little one. VALUE: 4/10 Importance: 1/3 — A good short that can be recommended in some cases. Rewatch value: 1/3 — It's funny and short and well-done. Memorability: 2/4 — Good work for it's medium. ENJOYMENT: 7/10 I really laughed a lot at its simple humor and enjoyed the few touching scenes. VERDICT: 5/10 (5.16)

This was a really fun anime to watch. It’s all about a couple that just became married without really knowing a lot about each other. One is just a standard business woman while the other is an otaku with an extremely high power level. The first season is them learning more about each other as well as their friends and family members. All of the characters introduced are funny in their own way and it's really fun to watch Tsunashi and Kaoru learn more about each other throughout the course of the show. It’s a lot of short funny episodes that are worth your time normally and definitely worth your time if you’ve got an hour free. There’s also a trap for those that are interested.

I can't understand what he's saying either. I don't speak Japanese though. Story: A married couple and their everyday antics. The husband is a hardcore otaku, the wife is not. Does not sound like much to work with, but for an anime that runs 39 minutes in total, it worked fine. It relies heavily on references, which may lessen your enjoyment, depending on how many you get. The parts when the two show true affection towards each other were very cute and heartwarming, especially the last episode. 8/10 Art: This anime is VERY simplistic, to a degree where I must say it doesn't look very pretty. Sometimes it is more noticeable than others, but for a comedy short it doesn't hurt too much. Episode 11 goes slightly into bizarre territory, which was interesting. 6/10 Sound: The anime doesn't have an opening, the ending is kinda cute, fitting for the odd but loving couple. Voice acting was pretty good, though of course they don't have much time to shine. 8/10 Characters: Hajime and Kaoru are very cute together, even when they totally talk at cross purposes (I don't know if that's the correct English version of "aneinander vorbeireden", so I apologize if it isn't). I could also sympathize with Kaorus backstory, as most people probably will (if they passed their teens). The side characters weren't that strong, I would have preferred to see more couple time instead of them. 7/10 Enjoyment: There's only one thing I'd say this anime could do better and that would have been to have longer episodes. I guess there wasn't enough source material, but there is a second season, which is at least something. The best about this wasn't necessarily the comedy but the cute moments (which made me a little envious). I was happy to see them happy and the ending was a wonderful conclusion. 9/10 Overall: 7.6/10

If I ever marry some random casual, this anime would probably be accurate as to what would go down. Except minus the weird younger brother who draws manga and looks like a 12 year old girl. And all the other weird shit that happens in the anime. I guess this wasn't that good of a comparison, come to think about it. Anyways, its a pretty good anime, and you can literally watch it within an hour, as each episode is only 3-4 minutes long, so thats good, I guess. This anime is basically total moeshit otaku + casual grill = this anime. 9/10.

A nice story that's not trying hard to be funny, it's funny Moe girl doing moe stuffs Otaku guy doing Otaku stuffs You want some protagonist with strong characteristic and training for great power, then you came to the wrong place You want girls with boobs and great body with some hot action, then you came to the almost right place With enough amount of fan-service to keep you with this show and nice story will make you feel relax after a hard day Now I will proceed to make this review long enough so I can post it That's all folks

A series that you could probably finish in less than an hour. Story revolves a unlikely couple, an Otaku and an office lady going about their everyday life. Despite the episodes being extremely short, I believe they were well animated and never boring since there were no fillers. I enjoy the interaction between many of the characters including those of the protagonist alongside acquaintances of his/her spouse. In some way you could see a little of what Japanese society today is like and laugh a little in how silly certain issues are like. The series include intimate desires, trolling and disappointment by others of being an Otaku...and other moments. Not much to say about this except it was enjoyable.

(Warning first review it will in fact suck.) Danna ga Nani wo Itteriu ka Wakaranai Ken is a heartwarming short anime. At first when I read the synopsis I wasn't sure what to expect. Well I can sure say overall I got a pretty good anime. It took it's 3 minute run time, and made it work to it's advantage by filling it with humor, and a lot of character development. The episode flew right by, and it was one of the only anime I have marathoned through in one whole sitting. Now I am not just saying that for it's very short runtime. The only thing I could possibly say is a "negative", and to be quite honest it isn't even a negative. The art quality could have been better. That being said I really enjoy the character design for Kaoru it was simple, and the character looked appealing overall. Overall I give this anime a 9/10. Would I recommend it? Yes I would. It's easy to sit through, and has some great characters.

rarely do shorts catch my attention, but I had heard in passing about a heartwarming show about a married couple with a total otaku and a more down to earth wife. After seeing that each episode was only 3 minutes long I decided,"what the heck? I'm just going to watch it." and so I did. And what I got was well.... a heartwarming show with some very nice relatable characters. story: I liked the story. It was simple, and it felt like a realistic situation for the most part. Even though each episode was only 3 minutes long, I felt like each episode had a worthwhile lesson or gave me some good laughs. Speaking of laughs, this show was really pretty funny. I wasn't expecting it to be particularly funny actually, but I found myself laughing at the husbands otaku loner life, and the wife's random odd moments. Sometimes when I watch shows, it feels like the comedy is trying to be forced in, but in this show, it felt very relaxed and free which I enjoyed. It was truly heartwarming to see the little surprises in their lives that made their relationship better, or their little sweet moments. Basically, the story is simple (this is slice of life) but enjoyable, and the comedy was good. characters: For me, the characters is where this show really shined. They were some of the most relatable characters I have ever come across in anime. A lot of the MAL community probably has at least some minor inner otaku in them, so its easy to imagine and empathize with the husband. The wife is a hard working woman, who just gets thrown off by her husband and life in general sometimes. And her situations also seem very realistic. A few of the side characters will a little weird and almost confusing in a few situations, but they were pretty funny, so it's ok. Sound: nothing stood out about the sound in particular Art/animation: While the art and animation was not the most beautiful that I have ever seen, I didn't mind because the simplicity and style of it fit the show, and I actually rather enjoyed it. enjoyment: I really did enjoy it a lot. It was funny, it was sweet, it was relatable. enough said. Overall: I really did enjoy the show. Really. Which might make you wonder "why is it only rated a 7?" and the answer is because well... it was short, and while I enjoyed it, I for some reason, could not bring myself to rate in any higher than a 7. It definitely is no worse than a 7. It is on the higher end of the 7 ratings. But at the end of the day, it just wasn't knock your socks off amazing. However that is not to say you shouldn't watch it. I highly recommend watching it. It takes about 40 minutes, and it is worth it for sure.

I Can’t Understand What My Husband is Saying is a series of three minute episodes obviously based on a comic strip. Each episode is either a variety of gags or a single story that compounds to create a quick, cute slice-of-life. Kaoru is a diligent businesswoman who smokes and drinks a lot, a complete opposite to her otaku husband Hajime. Despite this, they enjoy life together, getting out of their comfort zones in order to better understand and love each other more. The main draw of the series are the newlyweds. Kaoru is a wonderful, funny character who is obviously meant to be the ideal woman for any otaku. Hajime is a funny supernerd, meant to represent we, the people who write anime reviews or read them or watch anime nonstop. Surrounding Kaoru and Hajime are a bevy of entertaining secondary characters from a creepy guy/girl who draws inappropriate manga and wants to fuck Hajime, to Kaoru’s hilarious father. The humor boils down to sex jokes and anime references which are both handled pretty well. The series shines in the short, tender moments of romance; especially an episode where Kaoru and Hajime babysit and start seeing that maybe they’d like to have a child. It all culminates in an emotional ending that leaves you wanting more. Despite I Can’t Understand What My Husband is Saying having only thirty-nine minutes of content, you’ll find it does everything right. The animation and music aren’t strong, but the characters are funny and likeable and the overall show is charming.

Danna ga Nani wo Itteiru ka Wakaranai Ken is a wholesome, marriage-centered anime that you can watch in one sitting and not worry about wasting a ton of time. I think the story was really good, and had some funny moments to go along with it. As each episode is short, averaging at around 3 minutes per episode, I also enjoyed that I could watch a few episodes during spare time. I also enjoyed the references to games and other anime a lot. I rate 8. The artstyle is something that fits the anime in general. Happy couple + cute artstyle + funny moments = worth giving my attention. It's on par with Nichijou, which is a good thing if you didn't know. It gets an 8 from me as well. rating sound quality is something I don't find necessary for this review, as I don't often complain about such things. The sound effects were good, and I like the voice actors. It gets a 7. The characters were a big part of why the previous three categories got good ratings. Both the husband and wife are incredibly based af, I cannot stress this enough. Also, all of the other characters are funny and add onto the main characters, which is a great thing. I rate 8. I enjoyed this enough to give it a 9 because it was HILARIOUS! Overall rating: 8 I recommend watching this if you're a huge Rom-Com fan or need something to cheer you up if you're bored or sad.

<3 I stumbled upon this anime by accident and it turned out to be a calm, relaxing, and nice break from all the mainstream fighting animes. But from the first episode to the last episode this beautiful masterpiece will pull you in with the outstanding characters, a peaceful art style, and just over the top sound that fits perfectly with the funny and relatable main characters. This anime has definitely become one of my new favorites and will always be close to my heart. Also, the random one-second cutscenes scattered throughout the show really sent this anime above and beyond. what a wacky show<3

Story: It's cute. Do more. Art: It's cute. Do more. Sound: It's cute. Do more. Characters: They're cute. Have more, and have some more of each. Enjoyment: I wanted more. On a bit more serious note this is too non-ambitious to get a serious critique. An otaku and his wife live together and try to deal with the differences between an otaku's world and a normie's world. It's too short, and oftentimes passing from one scene to the next without even a transition is kind of jarring, so maybe a bit more effort into making something more cohesive would help. No backstories, or little of it, and not much in the way of progression, but still, all I can say is that it's cute and that it deserves more. Overall: Okawari kudasai/More please

This anime is an easy watch because of the 3 minute length. Based on the manga of the same name this show is a slice of life story between a newly married couple as they navigate the simple misunderstandings that happen in a marriage, alongside their friends and family. At first it seems like the otaku husband and the office lady wife couldn't be more incompatible, but as she story goes on, you realize they really do understand each other more than they realize. There is a good reason these two got together, and every glimpse into their daily life is adorable and inspirational. The art style is very fluid, with lots of (censored) real world culture references and jokes that land every time.

I Can't Understand What My Husband Is Saying or Danna ga Nani wo Itteiru ka Wakaranai Ken is pretty casual it's a show about the ups and downs of marriage life showing the important nuances of communication, understanding, and mutual support that are required in marriage thus it feels like a more authentic relationship romance show that doesn't attempt to make characters act overtly emotional for the sake of injecting drama in a way that would be contrived and vapid all for the sake of melodrama It's a challenge to the conventional notions of what a perfect marriage should be and shows that love and understanding can coexist with differences with you and your partner and it's more about finding ways to connect and appreciate the differences as well as show you're support It can ham up the comedy but it never undermines the emotional intelligence that makes both characters receptive to each other and what they need emotionally from each other It doesn't present a flawless marriage and in many ways that's where a certain realism and true capacity for love and growth exist in the show and the dynamic of an Otaku husband throwing nerd culture references at his wife like tomahawks despite her inability to understand what he's talking about A perfect cocktail of charming and meaningful that is also relatively easy to consume and binge in one session

No spoilers at all. Not even characters mentioned. review of the story from a feel other than just the characters and story line! I have very simple feelings for this show. I finished this whole season in 40 mins in one sitting. If you want to watch a show to just get over with very fast and don't really care for following the storyline. Watch this. You will probably like its very very fast pace. It could also be good for background noise. If you are looking for something with lots of story and life, but you want to watch this because it's short and you don't feel like watching the standard 24 mins with 12 eps. Then I would suggest to suck it up and watch a different show. The story is fine. That's all I will give it. Its not bad in any way, its just not my cup of tea. If you are one for character development the its not for you either. I "guess" the ending was cute but its overall just, meh. The characters where pretty good, but that is the only thing i could say about the whole show. My native language is English believe it or not. I just have no spelling or grammar skills so please don't pay attention to that. I do believe my reviews are a good consideration to deciding to watch the show or not. If you disagree I understand.

I found this to be a touching and sweet experience which overall was exactly like the relationship i dream of, although the tastes and personalities of the couple are different, they still see eye to eye and understand that they both love each other and that's what REALLY matters with late stage romance stories. Although the animation is quite average, the effort goes into alot of visual gags which use the medium to its fullest for these calmer sorts of stories. Culture references and just the odd details had me consistently pausing and rewinding a few seconds. The ending genuinely felt real too, like it perfectly displays the emotions you should feel in that moment.

This show is pretty much a romantic comedy show, but its one if the nest ones i have watched so far. It has a slice of life vibe and its really good if you want a quick laughter, especially since each episode is about 3 minutes long(even season 2). The characters in this story are pretty good, helping their main characters with their relationship, and the music is pretty good also. The enjoyment is just amazing, and it makes me to just re watch an episode, and any since is an episodic show. The art is pretty creative, especially when the characters show expression throughout the series. Overall, it's an amazing show, and i recommend you all for watching it.

What a nice feeling it is to see these two losers managing to have an healthy marriage. This anime might be incredibly cathartic to many anime fans who are not used to be in love or in a relationship. Usually anime as a medium shies away from talking about intimacy between two people, we always see neet who have their "2d wifus" but we never get to see a marriage between two real people. This anime is short and lovely because it tries to pass the message that you don't have to change yourself or your hobbies to be in a relationship, you don't have to be like everyone else, you can just be yourself. This anime also has one of the most beautiful episodes ever, despite being only 3 minutes (which is episode 11 if i remember correctly) that paints being single in your middle 20s in an almost perfect way. It had his bad moments, at a point i wanted to rate this a 1/10 for a stupid joke that was made and that i hated it to disgust. But i can overlook those all thanks to episode 11 and the ending of season 1, which was beautiful. I stll haven't seen season 2 and I probably won't because this season ended at a perfect moment and i'm scared it'll be ruined. Animation, sound, and art were all pretty basic since this is a 3 minutes show. overall 7/10

Funny and what it is might be a suitable word for this anime, the comedy is good to enjoy, the romance between otaku and normies can be said to be a unique blend and I like that, they already know each other's vices, try to understand them and live their daily lives in their way, that's what makes me like this anime, it doesn't seem forced and is rich in normal life in general, just wrapped in the funny conversation of those who are not in line. it's just a shame that the duration is only 3 minutes per episode, But I'm not sure if I make it 20 minutes per episode, the vibes or comfort when watching it will be the same, so maybe it's better like this, for the distraction of people like me who like sci-fi and mystery, I give a rating of 8 because it's as simple as the plot is light and entertaining, it's worth it to watch, after all it doesn't take more than 1 hour to finish this anime, okay so first I want to continue my list of sci-fi and psichologycal horror anime, enjoy your day;)

As the title and synopsis implies, “Danna ga Nani wo Itteiru ka Wakaranai Ken” or “I can’t understand what my husband is saying” is a show following an extrovert girl having a marriage with an otaku. Specifically, the story starts with the couple just finished having their marriage ceremony and the following episodes would show how they grow as husband and wife. This anime is surprisingly easy to watch as it’s only roughly 3 minutes. But at the same time, they really made a lot of down to earth problems when getting to know your spouse. Especially when they have drastically different personalities, it really gets you invested on their development. Every episode has its own storyline, starting and finishing without you having a need to wait for the story to Finnish. It brings up a lot of topics including accepting the ups and downs of one person, discovering responsibilities that comes with marriage and going out of their comfort zones to make ease the load on the other person. At one point, there was one scene where the husband decides to voluntarily take their niece out to play when a few episodes ago, he makes it clear that he despise going outdoors. At the same time it was meaningful seeing both the husband and the wife influencing each other and encouraging each other to try new things. One theme I would say this anime has is that love isn’t something that’s complicated, and when you act naturally without being selfish and prideful. By putting down yourself, everything will naturally fall in to place and create a wonderful bond. There are bound to be arguments but through a devoted love for each other, things will work out one way or another. There are definitely a lot of better anime but I thing this show is definetly a masterpieces in it’s own special way.
