*This review takes consideration of the second season* This anime is probably the biggest reason I should lose my Man card. A disney-like romance story that I cant help but get so giddly happy and fuzzy when I see the main couple on screen. It isn't so simple for them to get together, they live in a world where class and birth dictate where one is to be placed and respected. Unfortunately for our couple, they are in different places of hierarchy. A Prince and a peasant so to say. But our female lead isn't useless, while not physically strong, her knowledge and earnestness shows how strong she can be to the world and people around her. And our male lead isn't perfect. He needs to learn how to be with people, how to properly dictate his actions and make sure his leadership and power isn't misused. How these two have growth in personality, goals, and their relationship. It's just so damn uplifting. Even when there is strife, they continue to push forward to make sure they can move on. Our couple aren't the only enjoyable ones here, the others who are supporting or against our couple are also awesome to have on screen. This is especially so in the second season, where returning characters or new, a viewer can get so happy to see what they do. The second season also gets the story and characters to be better and better. The biggest salt in the wound for me, was that there IS NO DAMN WEDDING EPISODE. Frig, maybe I just want to see more of the couple embrace each other. No, that's exactly what I want. It's a great watch for romance, while some may call it cheesy, I think its "LOOK AT THEM, THEY'RE SO GOOD TOGETHER. YES! SHOW THE WORLD YOUR STRENGTH AND WILL TOGETHER!"

Romance anime should show how does the love story progresses. They show it through how the couple actually develops throughout the story, having the realization that they need each other by their side. The problem is, when there is too much emotion in a certain scene, the actions made by the characters sometimes turn into a unreasonable one. The problem with unreasonable actions or the ones that you call "that escalated quickly" scenes in anime, the emotion that the scene tries impose to the character actually turns into comedic one or becomes laughable at that point, making you think that the characters itself are stupid or idiots. What I like in this anime is that the character developments are well explained. At the start of the anime, Shirayuki is actually confused on what "path" she should take until she meets Zen, which also had his own problems in his princely life. Shirayuki's fiery personality and stubbornness actually makes her character cool. But sometimes, Shirayuki's actions in the anime are sometimes jumpy. When someone actually forces you to be brought to the prince at once, you won't just cut your hair and leave the country. At that point, what I thought is where is Shirayuki's family or friends. I actually got disappointed at the part where she cuts her hair because that made her beauty lesser, and sometimes I lack the past about Shirayuki. Like how she became a herbalist and why is she even alone in her house? Overall, I like Shirayuki and she's the prettiest girl I've ever in anime (but she cut her hair). What I like with the character of Zen is his life throwbacks are too deep and how he developed his way of thinking. It portrays that everyone should not wish of a royal life because you don't know what Zen is going through. These realizations that spouted from the anime is another thing why I liked the anime. Zen also makes "jumpy" actions, which happened on the tower where he kissed Shirayuki after looking in her injury. Some characters could've been developed more, like the royal guards or the court herbalist. But all in all, the story is clear and the you won't feel incomplete after the anime. For a romance anime lover, this will definitely a good choice.

Akagami no Shirayuki-hime: This was apparently recommended to me by a friend and I have a few regrets that I should have watched this sooner. An anime with a modern twist to the Snow White story! (albeit better) The story is quite intriguing, following the lives of Shirayuki and Prince Zen (and all the other supporting characters!) The art is so lovely, along with the sound. (I swear I got the first opening song stuck in my head for a few days.) The character development is quite amazing, especially for both Shirayuki and Zen. It also contains small quirks and hilarious bits. It also has those scenes where you would just bury your face on a pillow from how precious Shirayuki and Zen is. The problems arising on episodes are really good and tested each character quite well. A light-weight anime that would get your heart enjoying every bit of the ride. So, 10/10? :~)

Akagami no Shirayuki-hime in a word is: Charming It takes a very interesting spin on the classic tale of Snow White. Even though the fairy tale may have been the inspiration for this anime, it is very unique. (So don't compare this to Disney's Snow White in the slightest!) I was a little worried that the main girl (Shirayuki) was going to turn into a weak, pathetic female lead that is more useless and annoying than anything else (like Haruka in Uta no Prince-sama). Luckily, this was not the case! The story felt a little slow in the middle, but it picked up and season 2 is even better than season 1. The animation is gorgeous. The Prince is gorgeous. If you are a lover of Shojo, make sure this anime is a priority on your "must watch" list.

If you like fairy tales and romance here it is with Snow White With The Red Hair. I enjoyed watching every episode of this series because it relates a lot to classical prince and commoner romance stories such as Cinderella and Snow White, for the main character being a beautiful citizen of a city (Shirayuki) and the prince (Zen) encountering each other. I also enjoyed seeing the progression with the main characters and how they overcome challenges that are presented to them. If you are a fan of romance I highly recommend this anime to you. The series is also very unique because it relates to fair tales but doesn't follow them completely, which leads to a new story for the series.

This anime was always monopolize the first/second rank in unofficial Anime Poll. I think that's why I watched it. I'm actually not a fan of romance but I find myself enjoy watching this anime. Ever since the anime start, it's getting more and more fans especially for the romance lover. Story (7/10) Like another romance story, that need to be happly ever after. Although I like it when there's another story or flashback from the side characters or the main character itself. Art (9/10) It was very beautiful. I really love the setting and the scenery inside this anime. We can't find much fantasy anime with these beautiful art. Maybe that's why I didn't intend to read the manga even if I wannna know more about the story. Character (8/10) The story is one thing, I really like when the characters treasure each other and not giving up even if their status was way different. And I personally love both of Zen and Shirayuki for their personality.

Akagami No Shirayuki-hime is about Shirayuki, a redheaded herbalist who's considered to be the most wonderful girl in the kindoom. Per se, the prince wants to force her to marry him. Well... I don't really have much to say about this one... It's a pretty basic shoujo to say the least and the first episodes were really boring, the plot is really fucking slow and absolutely anything happens until the end but hey, It wasn't THAT bad, It was actually kind of fun and if you're really into love stories you'll probably really enjoy this one. most of the episodes have individual stories and most of them are about Shirayuki gettin' in trouble and Zen having to save her ass but yeah, I can't say I hated it, the story is pretty inspiring too. The next season it's gonna be airing this winter, I hope it'll be more... "active" than this one.

This was probably one of my favorites from 2015, and if your into romance and/or fantasy, or you just want to see good art and music, than i'm sure it'll be your favorite too. Story 8/10- For how good the show is ,the story is pretty simple and it kind of abandons the snow-white idea that it was going for, which disappointed me at first, but i ended up liking the simple yet endearing story that was given to me. Art 9/10- Just right of the bat, Akagami is a very beautiful anime with great looking visuals and a great art style..that is all. Sound 10/10- I can't really say in full, how much i love the soundtrack in this anime, it had me in both awe and in peace whenever the music kicked in, and i can't wait until the OST comes out so that I can listen to it all day. Character 9/10 - All of the main and most of the sound characters are enjoyable, as well as endearing. The show even made me love a character i hated in the first episode, love in his next appearance, and the main couple is so cute they had me smiling like an idiot every time they were on screen together Enjoyment 10/10- Like i said earlier, the main couple is so cute that they managed to make me have a huge smile on my face every time they interacted, and that is quite the feat for me. I also love watching the story unfold and watching all the characters interact in different ways, as well as watch Shirayuki herself gain the respect of those around her. Overall- 10/10

This is an amazing show and I cant wait to see it continued and hope it will be. I hope that the story grows to be more interesting as it goes on. The best part I like about this story is Shirayuki is very strong and she is one who will stand for others. She reminds me of how strong I am when I am with others. this anime is amazing and I would tell others about it. it is a beautiful love story and can't wait for season 2. The love between her and Zen is amazing I was jumping out of my seat in the last 2 episodes because I had a feeling to what was going on and it work out to it as well, not giving any spoilers but this anime is one that will keep you interested until the end and give you a big relief.

English Akagami no Shirayuki-hime: A Fairy Tale with Maturity Akagami no Shirayuki-hime (Snow White with the Red Hair) is an anime that takes a classic "fairy tale" premise and elevates it to a level of maturity and charm that makes it stand out. The story follows Shirayuki, an independent and kind-hearted herbalist who flees her home kingdom to escape a superficial prince who covets her rare red hair. Along the way, she meets Zen Wistaria, the second prince of a neighboring kingdom, and her life takes an unexpected turn. The greatest strength of the series lies in its script and character development. Unlike many shoujo heroines who are passive, Shirayuki is a proactive, intelligent woman with a strong work ethic. She doesn't wait to be rescued; she forges her own path and earns the respect of everyone around her. The relationship between Shirayuki and Zen is a breath of fresh air. It is built on mutual respect, trust, and genuine admiration, not on forced misunderstandings or unnecessary drama. Their romance is gradual, believable, and deeply satisfying to watch. The anime also shines in its world-building. The kingdom of Clarines feels alive and is populated with well-defined secondary characters. The series isn't limited to romance; it explores the kingdom's politics, herbal medicine, and the responsibilities of royalty. Each story arc focuses on a different aspect of the world and its characters, which keeps the plot fresh and engaging. Visually, the series is a delight. The animation is fluid, and the character designs are elegant. The backgrounds are painted with a style that evokes the feeling of a fairy tale, with vibrant colors and detailed landscapes that bring the world to life. The soundtrack perfectly complements the series' tone, being both gentle and memorable. Verdict and Rating Akagami no Shirayuki-hime is a charming work that proves a story can be sweet without being saccharine and romantic without being overly dramatic. Its focus on personal growth, healthy relationships, and a well-constructed plot makes it a benchmark for the genre. It's an anime that leaves you with a warm, happy feeling after every episode. I give it a 6/10. Do I recommend it? Yes, without a doubt. If you're looking for a well-written romance with strong, intelligent characters, without the usual clichés, this is a must-watch. It's a mature and refreshing anime that is well worth your time.

Note: This will be a review of both seasons. Overview: Despite what the name might imply, "Snow White with the Red Hair" has almost nothing to do with the classic fairy tale, barring a few references in the first episode. It has no dwarves, no evil queen who's secretly a witch and pretty much no supernatural elements to speak of despite taking place in a medieval fantasy world. Instead, what we have is a lighthearted romantic drama about a lonely girl struggling to find her place in the world, and while the end result may be less than magical (in more ways than one), it's nevertheless worth a look if you're a romance fan. Story (7/10): "Snow White with the Red Hair" tells the story of Shirayuki, a young girl who works as a herbalist in the kingdom of Tanbarun and was born with highly rare red hair. Unfortunately for her, her hair ends up drawing the attention of the immature, pompous Prince Raj, who demands that she becomes his concubine. Shirayuki, however, refuses to become what's essentially a slave, and flees Tanbarun in order to escape the prince. While out in the woods, she bumps into a man named Zen Wisteria, and shortly after that, she discovers that he's the second prince of the neighbouring kingdom of Clarines. Once the matter with Prince Raj has been settled, Shirayuki decides to accompany Zen to Clarines and start a new life, which begins a strong friendship between these two people that may result in something more down the road. Similar to "Kamisama Kiss", "Snow White with the Red Hair" starts off episodic, but soon develops an arc format, with the transition from one to the other happening roughly halfway through the first season. The first few episodes mostly introduce us to all the important characters and cover how things work in the world, and things gradually get more dramatic until the storytelling peaks in the arc of the second season, which feels like everything the previous episodes were building up to and delves into Shirayuki's origins, resulting in a very intriguing and personal story. Another good point of the series is the relationship between Shirayuki and Zen, as we clearly see the two of them getting closer and closer with each passing episode, and they have to struggle with the obstacles wedged between them due to their differing social classes, which makes for some nice storytelling. Unfortunately, the story does have a number of big problems. For example, I found Shirayuki's hair colour being such a major plot point pretty hard to take seriously for one simple reason- unusual hair colours aren't that rare in the series! In the main cast alone, we have a guy with white hair (Zen) and a guy with blueish-green hair (Mitsuhide), and yet it's Shirayuki's hair that's the subject of everybody's awe and curiosity, even though red hair is not only possible in real life, but actually quite common. This wouldn't bother me so much if it wasn't for the fact that people commented on it every other episode (sometimes multiple times an episode) and it's the main reason why so many people come after Shirayuki. Even beyond that, however, the main drama of season 2 is resolved little more than halfway through, and afterwards the series returns to the episodic format of early season 1, wrapping things up with a bunch of self-contained stories during which pretty much nothing of consequence happens. It's hard to come up with the word to describe that because honestly, I don't think "anti-climactic" is strong enough. Art & Animation (8/10): "Snow White with the Red Hair" is animated by Studio Bones, so naturally good visuals are to be expected. That being said, how good the series looks really depends on what part of it you're talking about. The character models are very well-drawn and detailed, as are the general environments, but the backgrounds could use a little work, often looking like half-finished paintings. There's also a few very noticeable jerks in the animations, often resulting in characters looking much less impressive than they usually do for a brief moment. For the most part, however, the series looks great. Sound & Dialogue (8.5/10): The soundtrack is fine, but not anything special. It fits the tone and genre of the series, but there aren't that many notable tracks I can think of. The opening and ending themes of the first season are great (especially the ending theme) but the second opening and ending themes are entirely forgettable. The voice acting is great- Brina Palencia and Jessie James Grelle (at the time known as Josh Grelle) deliver great performances as Shirayuki and Zen, respectively, and the series features a strong cast that includes Austin Tindle, Ian Sinclair, Jamie Marchi, Eric Vale and Monica Rial. All in all, I would consider this to be the highlight of the series. Characters (7.5/10): In early episodes, while not outright stated, Shirayuki is implied to be something of an outcast. This is evident by the fact that she didn't have any real problems with leaving Tanbarun behind to avoid becoming Prince Raj's concubine or moving to Clarines shortly afterwards, implying that while she was civil with the people in Tanbarun, she wasn't really close to anyone. In general, Shirayuki believes that people should be defined by their strength of character, and has no tolerance for people who think their birthrights make them inherently superior to others. As for her actual personality, she is generally very kind, friendly and forgiving, but also rather proud and determined to earn her place rather than having it handed to her, something she could very easily do due to being close friends with a prince. Her pride is evident by the fact that if she gets kidnapped, she doesn't wait around for somebody to save her, and if she can free and save herself, she will, which is especially impressive for someone with no real fighting ability. That said, I found her narrations at the start of each episode to be highly repetitive and frankly completely unnecessary, since they don't really reveal anything about her character or provide any exposition about the world. They basically just amount to her talking about her path over and over and OVER again. As a whole, however, she is a very likeable character, and her arc will certainly be relatable to anyone who's struggled to find their place in the world. Despite their drastically differing social classes, Zen is in many ways a lot like Shirayuki, in that they're both kind, determined and hard-working individuals who want to follow their own paths in life. In general, it's pretty easy to forget that Zen's a prince, since he generally acts very modest and casual and has no problem with talking to or befriending a commoner like Shirayuki. Even so, he is very realistic about his position and even admits to Shirayuki at one point that he can't guarantee that there won't come a time where he'll have to put his duty before her. He's also far from gullible, which is evident in his very first scene when he refuses to accept medicine Shirayuki offers for his injured wrist because he didn't know her at the time and, as such, she could've been an enemy or deranged killer who wanted to poison him with the medicine, and he has already suffered multiple assassination attempts in the past. Overall, however, I found him to be rather static in comparison to Shirayuki, with most of his character development having already happened in his past, with a flashback detailing how he became who he is today. This isn't a huge issue, though, and I did ultimately like his character. Of course, Shirayuki and Zen aren't the only characters in the series, even if they are easily the best ones. Joining their group fairly early on is Obi, a former assassin who fights like a ninja and initially appears as an antagonist, but quickly becomes an ally of the heroes, with Zen hiring him to act as his messenger and Shirayuki's bodyguard. He has a good personality, being generally lighthearted and prone to teas…

ill be quick. If you are looking for a show that indulges realistic human struggles, brilliantly told romance, and a rich history of characters then this is not the show for you. This anime is not a critique of the princess genre that you were looking for. A glance at the tile could have told you that "Snow White with the Red Hair". Its a show about a red hair girl that runs away from her country ( and the prince that is trying to court her) with another prince. This isn't realistic show about everyday struggles that people endure. I wish people would stop critiquing and treating it as such. This is a calm feels good shows that is written episodically with an overarching romance. Its not trying to be anything else. A problem is introduced and resolved per episode. There is no high stakes, no dark themes ( there was one ep a bit darker than the others), and no life struggles. It does have a different feel from traditional Disney princess movies. The girl in question doesn't want to be a burden to the prince and tries to earn her place rather than use her relationship with the prince. I found that to be one of the highlights of the show. Overall its a slow paced show aimed at a particular audience. If a heartful, and a bit over dramatic princess show is not up your ally then feel free to jump along to the next anime in your list.

This anime is very old so my review probably won’t matter. If anyone is very tired and looking through them though, hopefully mine helps Story: 4/10. Now this is a bit complicated. The story is just so incredibly cliche. The fact that every single character acts like red hair is some sort of magical super power from a different planet is so redundant and annoying, its ridiculous how much moves the plot from this. If red hair is rare it should have been addressed more. What’s the history of people with red hair? Are they oppressed or worshipped? Just WHY are people so insanely obsessed with the MC just cause of her hair color, which is simply red, when many characters have WHITE hair???? The author fails to explain this and it started to take me out of it. Art: 9/10, it’s studio bones so nothing was bad, but it can be a little bland with shot composition and how the camera is framed. Characters: 5/10. I’ve never seen morals so uncomfortably forced into characters like this show. The best written character was Ryuu and he was barley on it. Every villain on this show has been a mustache twirling evil doer whos evil for the sake of being evil, the most basic evil reasons too: always involved with pride and power. There’s this plot point (spoilers) where we learn Zen had a friend who was really a spy sent to betray him (back to how this series is a giant cliche lolll), and the spy is like “you’ve never had to work for what you have, and no matter how hard I’ll try I’ll never be as rich as you” I was like wow, that’s actually a surprisingly nuanced message. I didn’t expect them to portray classism in a way bigger then “MC is poor so she’s bad and can’t be with the prince“. What comes immediately after? Zen says some shouen hero thing about remembering the spy as a friend which would be great if he was actually Zen’s friend and not a spy sent to kill him who represented the working class. Then the spy is murdered immediately. Do they bring up what he said about how corrupt it is that Zen was born into power and wealth and the spy could barley scrap by? Noooo, of course not. They act as if The spy really was Zen’s friend and it’s treated as some tragic backstory thing about how hard this pressure on Zen is. Every character has hamfisted attempts at being deep like this. Characters will be brought up and never talked about again for the sake of another’s development. Now for the biggest issue. The Mc.. is a total Mary Sue. She is kind, she is hard working, she is beautiful, she is smart, she is self confident. She has literally no flaws to speak of. While Zen is untrustworthy of others and Ryuu is socially awkward, what is Mc if not the perfect princess who graces everyone by being perfect? The only times she struggles is when people try to capture her because she’s so beautiful or she has to take a nap cause she’s so hard working which isn’t treated like an actual flaw or something she’s in danger of, BTW. She just needs 10 second still frames of her closing her eyes and she’s back in business. She will stand up to corrupt people with a confidence that was cool at first, I love strong female characters, but then it got absolutely ridiculous. It feels like she is not a character at all but a.. being.. that always stops stereotypical evil people to the point it got very cringey. It feels like every time she stands up to someone you are supposed to applaud how cool she is, every other character certainly does, and I got tired of it. She is Mary Sue wish fulfillment at its peak. Enjoyment: 7/10. now you’re going to be absolutely surprised. But I liked this show. It’s definitely not something to write home about. But it’s fun to watch if you turn your brain off. The issue is I can tell the author is good at writing cute characters doing cute things, but they are not good at writing deep character motivations or plot, so when they do it stands out.., a lot. I enjoyed the slice of life fluffy romance stuff, as a fan of both SOL and deep shows, it’s sorely lacking in the former and I hope in the second season the author has gotten better at writing these things cause theres actually a lot of potential. Overall: 6/10. When it fumbles it fumbles hard. the voice acting and animation absolutely carried this. If you want to watch this show handled better watch Yona of the Dawn.

this is really just okay, and here’s why. there was no more conflict or tension for me past the first episode because we simply knew she was set for life. she was good. but most importantly, there are no seven dwarves. this is my gripe of the year. imagine what this could have been. even just a shred of that reality: seven guys. seven different guys. i wouldn’t really mind watching it all. but instead it’s okay. if there are no dwarves in this universe, if she has red hair, what else is a qualifier into the “Snow White” compendium? the apples. it’s an okay show.

This anime was wholesome. The whole time I was watching the show I couldn’t stop squealing in delight. I’m not joking. I was really making some strange sound reacting to what was happening, I was cringe. I’m not saying this show is perfect, I don’t think it is. But it was the right thing for me. Sometimes I had to stop watching and take a break because I felt overwhelmed. I don’t consider it one of my favorite anime yet, my favorite anime are the ones that have a meaning for me, and that requires also time, this show gave me a lot of positive emotions. It gave me a lot of Ghibli vibes (can we talk about those eggs and bacon in episode 2?). The art style was beautiful and also reminded me of the Ancient Magus Bride (which came out after, but I watched it before). One thing I loved was also the clothes. I saw quite a variety of outfits, it was awesome. An amazing style in my opinion! The main characters were lovely and so full of good intinctions, but not particularly innovative in my opinion. On the contrary, I’m convinced I saw characters with the same personality on other shows. I don’t think that this was really a flaw however because they were the kind of characters I love, so for me, it was a wonderful thing to watch. Also, the “evil” characters of the show, even if they were presented as devious, usually it was shown after that they were not just “evil”. They had some reason for the way they acted and they were more kind of morally grey. I’m not sure that this was also done perfectly, I’m sure some people didn’t like the way the character development was executed, but for me, it was good enough, even I didn’t care that much about the various antagonist. I didn’t particularly like that sometimes some scenes reveal a little bit too much about what was going to happens. But it wasn’t a big deal, I’d just wish sometimes the clues were more subtle. Also, other scenes really surprised me and left me speechless. Also, the romance was quite obvious from the beginning for me, and sometimes it was almost painful to watch (not completely in a bad way, just a bit frustrating). However, the ending was good enough for me, I found it satisfying. Especially knowing that there is another season (I can’t wait to watch it, I hope it won’t mess up with the character development).

This is the absolute most beautiful anime I've ever watched. I was sick of watching pathetic female leads on other shows but Shirayuki is a strong and confident, great character. I am in love with the art, concept, and the environment. Everything is amazing. Hope we'll get a season 3 soon... I love Shirayuki and she can literally be shipped with any characters. This story has a lot of character development. The art style is beautiful. I love how it looks so effortless but has an amazing scent in it. This was one of the first animes I've ever watched and I'm glad I watched it. At first thought, I really didn't wanted to watch this but when I started, I couldn't stop and rewatched it several times. If you are new to anime or if you are looking for something to watch, I suggest you watch 'Snow White with the Red Hair', even if you don't like it that much, it is a great anime even to kill time.

i like to say that the story is pretty typical type but the romance between two characters is pretty good. i liked it cuz the story was quite well-made not to mentions both main characters are trying their best on their own. the development of side characters are excellent as well. finding your goal & working to achieve it with romance is quite amazing on its own. i didnt give it my full score cuz story is simple but art is really well made. supporting characters are really good too especially not a vicious woman or man but a better friend & well maintained persons. obi's character is something you all should look forward but zen is not bad though too. our female character is quite strong & hard-working woman. so overall i do think it deserves some light & can be watched one time.

Best described as a "very good" show in a normal sense. If this was my first show of its kind, I may have rated it 9. Unfortunately for this show, I believe I have watched several shows like this, so kinda felt like it lacked originality, so gave it 8. That stated, this show is a very good pick for both the beginner and the veterans, and has a potential to become a favorite of most users. ---- One can expect heartwarming moments, a bit of romance, a good fantasy world-building, and a lot more,... (wholesome) About a girl with unusual red hairs, who escapes her country to safeguard her independence & to study as a Herbalist. She then meets a guy (later found out to be a prince of a neighbor country) & become friends with him. This guy gives her a place in his country & from then developments happens... I didn't feel excited here, like as in other romance/action/fantasy Anime, the reason being everything happens so normally in the first 5 episodes. The somewhat interesting part starts from episode 6, when first prince IZANA is introduced. The characters don't do anything unusual & everything happens satisfactorily as the audience expects. So, one doesn't blame the main characters for why didn't they do this instead of that. For this very reason, i can't call this Anime Great or a Masterpiece. For me, AKAGAMI NO SHIRAYUKI-HIME tops the "VERY GOOD (8)" rating. Art (9) - Animation here is similar to MAHOUTSUKAI NO YOME & AKATSUKI NO YONA. It gives a rich fantasy feel, or at least i got the same vibes from both the Anime. Especially, the Female lead in the mentioned shows have kinda similar art design, and have red hair. Characters (9) - The female protagonist "SHIRAYUKI" is a normal village girl with a bold personality. She has a rare personality which you don't often see in an Anime Girl. The Male lead "ZEN" has kinda similar personality. Both are heartwarming characters with independent personalities & way of thinking. I like both mentally strong main characters. Prince IZANA is the character i like the most in this anime for his Honesty & Decisiveness. I like the HONESTY of most characters. You'll hardly find any drawbacks in the characters. Sound (7) - The OP gives the fantasy feel & is fairly good. But i like the ED more compared to OP. I skipped both the OP & ED. The BGM played after the ED, where they give prequel about the next episode is my favorite BGM in this Anime. Story (8) - With a very heartwarming story and main characters, it has a very Satisfying story. It revolves around a girl who just escaped/fled the kingdom to protect her independence & her life as a herbalist. She meets a Guy, later found out to be a prince & becomes friend with him. And then. ......... Enjoyment (9) - I enjoyed it very much, but it is not one of those Anime that made me excited for "what happens next". So, i won't give it 10. Overall (8) - I give it 8 for being very GOOD & satisfactory. Even though i rated it 8, it is still much better than some 9 rated Anime on my list. There were some moments too, where i wanted to give it 10. It is not boring, but not that exciting either. Every tagged genre (Drama, Fantasy, Romance, Shoujo) are very well executed in this Anime. If you are looking for Great main characters (hardly any personality drawbacks) & a heartwarming story, this is one of the Anime i would recommend. Even if you aren't looking for anything, this is still an Anime to Watch. Thank You :)

I have probably seen this anime around a hundred times. The storyline is amazing and I just fell in love with the characters and their designs. The art was amazing as well. There are very few anime where I enjoy watching it just because of the art style that is used and this show is the exception. I think what I love most about this anime is the plot. The romance which is infused with comedy and very serious situations makes this anime so hard to ignore. This anime was the second show that actually brought tears to my eyes. I would definitely recommend this anime.

A very heart warming romance. (It is more like a rom-com). Emphasis on the heart-warming. Because it is like a camp fire in the middle of a snow storm. That was not a good simile but hopefully you get what I mean. So yeah, it captures all of the Disney magic you love, even though the plot is pretty straight forward the romance between the prince and the princess is just so lovely, and dare I say even better than some of Disney's greatest films. The main character of this show, Shirayuki (which apparently means snow white in japanese) is a well crafted character; she is interesting, kind, brave and just very lovely. So if you are looking for a show with a strong female protagnist, this is a must watch.
