The Monster Musume Web Shorts are, well, shorts that take place during the TV series. They offer a (very!) brief look into the girls' daily lives. The episodes themselves are hit and miss; some of them are funny, or at least interesting, while others feel pointless. Everything looks and sounds consistent with the show, but the animation is limited a lot of the time, and some episodes don't even bother to show anyone. One positive is that we get to see more of a character who's introduced very late in the series, but unfortunately we still don't get to see much of her here. Watching all of the shorts only takes about 30 minutes, so if you loved the show you might as well check them out. However, casual fans wouldn't miss much by skipping them. Crunchyroll didn't bother picking this up for some reason, so you'll have to find a fansub.

I get the feeling people are coming to this and expecting more Monster Girls episodes and getting disappointed because this ova is not what they expected. That's fair, this is episodic and comedic but in a very different way than the main series. Where the main series focuses mostly on the group dealing with the collision of everyday situations and their extraordinary circumstances and personalities, this has nearly zero group content. This OVA, is almost entirely short snapshots of one girl dealing with her day to day stuff. Be it the problems of sharing the bathroom in a house with all those monsters. There's also the great question "If you are a dullahan can you be a chunibyo ?" The presentation is also a bit off. These would really be best to watch along with the series maybe interspersed in the episodes and you certainly have to see the series first. Recommendation: If you have seen the main series it's well worth the watch.

These short clips expand upon the monster girls of MonMus including the agents. The animation and art is charming at times, but in some shorts, all you get is one frame of background with sound from afar. While overall I rate the 30mins worth of clips as mediocre, I do appreciate giving us more details of the monsters, their traits, how they feel, and act. These shorts make the entire series more worthwhile and I personally enjoyed them, the clips give the girls more life, emotions, and charm that expand upon what the main series gave us. However, I wish they could have been incorporated smoothly into the main series in some way.

Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou: Hobo Mainichi ◯◯! Namappoi Douga is the kind of special that exists more for fans of the franchise than to add anything relevant to the main work. It's not bad, but it's also far from memorable. In the end, my reaction was basically the same from beginning to end: I watched it, had a few occasional laughs, and moved on without retaining practically anything in my memory. The premise of these shorts is extremely simple. Each episode is about 30 seconds long and shows small everyday situations involving the characters from the main series. They are lighthearted scenes without any narrative commitment, functioning almost as small animated extras or curiosities. In one episode you see a character cooking, in another some random domestic interaction, and in some cases more eccentric moments emerge that explore specific characteristics of the monster girls, such as Miia taking care of her own tail or other situations that would only make sense within the universe of the franchise. The problem is that, precisely because they are so short, these specials rarely deliver anything beyond a quick visual gag or occasional fanservice. There's no character development, no story to follow, and no interesting expansion of the universe presented in the main anime. It's basically a collection of random scenes created to elicit a smile from the viewer or simply offer a few more minutes of screen time for popular characters. On the other hand, I don't think this is necessarily a flaw, since the intention was never to be something grandiose. These shorts function almost like bonus content found on DVDs and Blu-rays: materials intended for those who already like the franchise and want to consume any additional bits involving those characters. In that sense, they fulfill their intended purpose. The humor is reasonably effective at times, especially for those already familiar with the personalities of the protagonists. One thing that became even more evident to me upon revisiting this material is how heavily Monster Musume relies on fanservice. Of course, this was never a secret to anyone. The main series has always sold its premise based on attractive monster girls, suggestive situations, and ecchi humor. But while searching for these specials to rewatch and review, I ended up realizing the amount of "Rule 34" content for this work on the internet; it surprised me. That said, to find this special you'll almost certainly stumble upon one of these sites unintentionally while searching for the series. Overall, Hobo Mainichi ◯◯! Namappoi Douga is a harmless supplement. It doesn't add anything important to the Monster Musume experience, doesn't develop characters, and will hardly be remembered after it's over. Still, its short duration makes the experience light enough not to bother you. It's just a set of disposable extras that might entertain the most dedicated fans for a few moments. I didn't hate it, I didn't particularly like it, and I probably wouldn't watch it again willingly. It simply exists. Rating: 5/10. A proposta desses curtas é extremamente simples. No geral, Hobo Mainichi ◯◯! Simplesmente existe. Nota: 5/10.
