Bungou Stray Dogs is an amazing anime full of references to real people. Like Osamu Dazai and Akutagawa. I don't have much to say about this anime, because it explains itself and it is just an amazing anime. Story: I like it that three organisations fight against each other and that each person has different powers. There is a lot of comedy in it too especially with Osamu Dazai XD, who tries to commit suicide all the time but it never works in a comedy way. Characters: Characters like Dazai or Akutagawa are really cool, because of the way of their personality and the bonds they have with each other. They are like one big family who care for each other and protect each other. I rate this an 8 because of the good comedy which is in it and the action in general which is also good because of their different powers.

The second season of Bungou Stray Dogs builds on the successes, and some of the flaws, of the first. For the most part, it’s an improvement on almost all aspects of the first season, including the animation, soundtrack and even the story. The story is mentioned in a skeptical light because the second season still follows the same format as the first, although not in the first four episodes known as the prequel arc. That format is a series of high-stakes battles between characters with superhuman abilities. To fully understand the format mentioned, I’d recommend the first season, which aired in the spring season, be seen to completion. It would not only help you understand the improvements made to the second season but also help you adjust your expectations for the show in general. Bungou Stray Dogs is not a bad series by any means; it’s excellent at its technical aspects but suffers from its wealth of characters and the lack of a concrete plot. [A vast improvement on the first season] As identified earlier, the second season greatly improves on many aspects of the first. This is immediately noticed with the grittier, more detailed character and background art and animation as seen in the first few scenes of the show. The opening also shows the improvement to the music in the show, with an introduction (in the second episode) to the excellent song ‘Reason Living’ by SCREEN, which closely depicts the characters’ struggles with the looming menace present in the second season. The more remarkable improvement comes with the overall mood of the show; the switch from the more comical and episodic storytelling of the first episodes of the first season, to a darker tone. The comedy, which usually seemed out of place in the first season, is almost non-existent. In its place are violent scenes that better depict the show’s time period, characters that show the appropriate emotions when in peril as well as a deeper, more mysterious plot - at least for the first four episodes. The epitome of these improvements is shown in the prequel arc: the first four episodes of the show. [The prequel arc] Where the first season provides hints into the background of one of its most interesting characters, the prequel arc provides the details. It tells the story of Oda Sakunosuke, a low-ranked Port Mafia enforcer, and his influence on Dazai. Like the officers of the Port Mafia, Oda has a special ability: he’s able to see six seconds into the future. While the ability makes for exciting battle scenes, it’s not the central focus of the arc. The prequel arc focusses on Oda’s struggles as he works with Dazai to solve a mystery. Their roles as members of the Port Mafia lends a darker, more violent mood to the series. With the conclusion of the prequel arc, the show returns to the characters of the Special Detective Agency and the Port Mafia. They are joined by The Guild, another group of individuals with special abilities, introducing a three-way conflict that’s accompanied by many battles. The members of Guild swell the already huge cast of characters in the show. [The perils of a wealth of characters:] The plot of series past the prequel arc returns to the format of the first season albeit with a darker, more serious tone; it’s replete with character introductions and battles. Each encounter with a Guild member introduces another renowned author and a special ability based on one of their books but the novelty wears off soon and we’re left with the ensuing battles. Unfortunately, the lack of motives and substantial build-up reduces the fights to a series of well-animated scenes. Almost all the Guild members simply serve as villains for the main characters and are seen in no other light. Although the huge cast makes it difficult to develop the characters, a few of the characters from the first season show improvement. Atsushi is less whiny, becoming more dependable and persistent; Dazai remains the powerful character he always was but does show a few vulnerable moments; Akutagawa draws closer to earning the approval he yearns for. [Overall:] The second season of Bungou Stray Dogs could be summarized as a brilliant show in all the technical aspects that struggled to provide depth for all of its large cast. The improved animation and music made for more engaging battles and I occasionally looked up the inspiration for a new character whenever he/she was introduced. [Grade:] Overall (sub): 7 Story: 5 Art: 9 Music: 9 Characters: 5 Enjoyment: 6

The second season of Bungo Stray Dogs takes a brief departure from the overarching conflict to deliver a short backstory on Dazai before returning to the main narrative. This decision was a welcomed one, as it touches on the information given previously and establishes future payoff. Each arc has been given the appropriate amount of time to resolve and fulfill expectations, and the greatly expanded cast had time to develop and feel relevant despite quick pacing. Atsushi, Kyouka, and Akutagawa had noticeably compelling character growth. This addition to the series was a significant improvement both in a more serious tone and interest in the story.

If you enjoyed the first season of Bungou Stray Dogs. Then you'll certainly enjoy the second season of Bungou Stray dogs. The plot really dives down an interesting path that really fills in blanks that I don't see many animes do really. It's a first for me, or least one I haven't seen far to often. So you will be quite pleased by how this anime plays out. It really sets up the story for later on. I felt I was on the edge of my seat at times also. Even shed a tear or two. If you're really into this, then I think you'll enjoy it. If you're still questioning to watch this, or the anime in general and are just looking through reviews, then I say give it a shot! You'll enjoy it!

Combat- In every anime there you have individuals have any type of power it is important to build a confine in which powers will be in.Even if power's are super natural having them abide to few key rules gives audience bedrock on which they can start understanding how anime's universe works, without them viewer will feel lost and not invested. This issue that Stray Dogs is facing. powers are called gifts and what gift can be has no limits.Anime gives no effort to explain what gifts are , how one might have it and what constitutes powers it might have. Watching fight seens gave me a feeling of watching sport i dont know rules off, sure there is action but it feels up in air nothing to base off.One of reasons what made HunterxHunter fights so immersive and enjoyable is because its power system had well defined limits and even most powerful individuals had to abide to those limitations. Groundless power system becomes especially tedious in second half as dozen newer and newer gifted individuals are introduced at which point all the powers were starting to give me a head ache . While this is issue all the way.Fights in first half are still interesting to watch as they are technical , while second half turns into cliche shounen, with fights being won who can scream harder. P.S another issue is death as it is rather inconsistent , one civilian will take entire magazine of bullets and walk it off while others will die in one or two shoots Charecters- Show has alot of interesting and fun characters i often noticed my self laughing at them or along side them. however They have colorful personalities , none of them get any back story. There was only singel arc touching Charecter "Dazai's" past. Even main protagonist gets very surfice level back story not to mention rest of cast is fully neglected, even main villans . Story- Anime has ups and downs. Beginning of the show is very good , as it does good job combing comedy, worldbuilding, charecter interaction in episodic manner. Show often has moments then it suddenly drops serious tone to a comedic and it was joy to watch. Second half starts off strong however falls into very cliche shounen defeat big nasty villan category. Animation- Animation is rather good, its nothing ground breacking but it does its job and does it well. It wants you to focus on on screen action there are great particle and charecter animation.Does it want to to more focus on charecter's dialoge , it adapts simplistic art style while keeping minimalistic body language. Does it want to focus on comedy factor is becomes guffy and colorful. This rotation between different art styles kept it fresh and made sure you would not get bored with same art form. Would i recommend it? yes i would while it did have it faults , overall it was fun to watch .

I fell in love with the first season of Bungou Stray Dogs, but when I started watching the second season I was a little bit disappointed. The season starts with a flashback and it really confused me. Maybe it's because I don't speak Japanese, the subtitels sometimes go to fast or because English isn't my first language, but I completely missed the memo that it was a flashback and thought nothing made sense. It took me 3 episodes to find out it was a flashback. I also thought the flashback was.. boring. Then again, maybe it's just me because I like action and the flashback was 90% talking. When the flashback stopped, I was confused again because I forgot what happened at the end of the first season. I had finished the first season the evening before I started watching the second season, but the flashback just completely got me out of it. But the second season did not disappoint me besides that flashback. The new characters were just as amazing as the others and I couldn't stop watching. I loved how they just continued the story like it wasn't interupted by a flashback. Because of the flashback, I can't give this season a 10/10, but it definitly deserves a 9/10.

Story - 6 A lot of people praise this anime for its unique plot and interesting story. And yes, I agree the concept is amazing and very well thought out. However, I did not find the plot as outstanding as I did with other anime. Maybe it was the constant literature references, over half which I didn't get (apart from the characters of the Guild, who were not as well developed as the main characters). Maybe my expectations were just too high, after hearing so many great things about this anime. Or maybe it was just generally the fast pacing of each of the episodes yet the slow pacing of the entire series itself. Either way, the story was not terrible, but not a work of masterpiece either. Another thing I thought was a bit mediocre was the use of comedy. The constant switch from seriousness to lightheartedness was sometimes refreshing, at other times felt too forced. Art - 10 The fight scenes, character designs, all of them were truly outstanding. One of the best art I have ever seen, apart from a select few other anime which I've watched and enjoyed. Nothing much to say about this. Sound - 8 The opening and ending songs were great. I didn't pay as much focus to the soundtrack during the anime as I did with the openings and endings however, being too caught up with the actual scenes of the anime. However, apart from the openings and endings, nothing really stood out to me, Characters - 8 The sole reason I gave a seven to the characters was because I didn't feel like enough of the large cast was developed enough apart from our fellow Armed Detective Agency characters and a few from Port Mafia. The Guild Members, for example. Two of the characters only barely appeared in one episode, and were never heard of or mentioned again. One we know barely of, only that he is "special" compared to other members. The main villain's backstory we mainly get a glimpse of, and while at an attempt to make us feel sorry for him, I found it still hard to. The character I enjoyed the most was probably the main character from the flashback of the first four episodes of season 2, which I gotta say were one of the most powerful and well-written episodes of the series. Apart from that, while the first four eps of the second season were supposed to be Dazai's backstory, mostly focuses on another character. And although I found that interesting, it still didn't clear up many questions I had for Dazai himself. Another are the powers of the characters. Maybe I missed this by chance, but how come Atsushi can turn his body parts into a tiger when they said he could only transform into a tiger in the moonlight? Did they mean a full-body tiger? If so, how did Atsushi learn to transform his arms and legs to tiger so easily? One more thing, probably, was how none of the characters actually died. Some came close, but were miraculously saved at the right place at the right time, even when they definitely should have been killed off. But, now to the good sides. Overall I loved the colorful personalities each of the characters had. No two characters were the same, and that was amazing. The fact that these characters' names, backstories, and ability names are all based on Japanese and Western literature is also amazingly well done. How the creators weaved in the history of these literature geniuses into a complete story of an anime was truly outstanding and, in my opinion, what made this anime completely unique and stand out on its own. The fact that one episode was dedicated to one character of the Armed Detective Agency, and how we got to know them through our protagonist's eyes, was great. We truly got a feel of each of the characters through this, while also being able to sympathize and fall in love with them. Although I feel like the backstories of the characters, especaially with Kunikida, could have been touched on a bit more, along with more powerful emotional responses to some of the events in the story, but maybe this is just personal preference. One thing I also appreciated was the lack of fanservice. Apart from the occasional hints of incest here and there (and the devilishly hot characters) there weren't any forced scenes of characters' private parts (especially the female characters' chests) shoved into your face every time, nor did they sexualize a fourteen year old, which I've seen plenty of anime do these days. It was so refreshing to finally see an anime with minimal to no fanservice ever shown on the screen. Enjoyment - 7 All these factors combined, and my enjoyment score is a solid 7. The characters and sometimes the comedy made things very interesting, but the jumbly narrative along with some confusing and skimmed plot lines sort of took away from the many great things about this anime. Overall - 8 To recap: The story itself in my opinion was not good nor bad, just somewhere in the middle. Perhaps I should read the manga to get a better understanding of the story, if that would help. The art was once again, amazing, and the character designs were unique, fun, and corresponded very well to the characters themselves and their personalities. The music was good in my opinion, just didn't stand out much. The characters were great, just with the huge cast some didn't feel well-developed, while others barely made an appearance nor appeared. Overall, this was an interesting series to watch, definitely worth my time. For those who love amazing characters and a somewhat interesting storyline, this is the anime for you.

This is... a tough one to review for me. The best I can say to summarize is that it finishes well. I guess I'm just gonna do what I did for the first season and review all the negatives at once and then explain why this anime is still so freakin' good despite all of it. What I wanted to see out of last season was a cohesive storyline that carried through the entire season, and I did get that out of this season. However, it still wasn't as well done as it could've been. Until the end, the story felt like it didn't know where it wanted you to focus on. It would shove one character or plot point in your face and go "okay, look here!!!" and then, by the next episode, you were supposed to be looking at something completely different. It would make things seem important that weren't or that weren't being continuously brought up throughout the whole season. Which is sad because there were some really interesting developments and character relationships that could've been expanded on. I think maybe this season just wanted to highlight too many things, which made it rather muddied. If it'd focused on just a few things and carried developed them naturally throughout the whole season, it could've been a really, really bomb story. Although, like I said, this season did have a lot going for it by way of character development-- a lot more than last season. The character felt stronger and more solidified in their personalities and motivations, though I do feel that the antagonists-- given how many separate characters we were introduced to-- should've been more fleshed out. The leader of the organization was sort of introduced and then wasn't touched again until the final fight, which was disappointing because it didn't make me feel like "oh, dang, here we go" at the end. Speaking of fighting, the fight scenes were surprisingly satisfying. For this anime sort of being vague about a lot of the details of each person's gift, it was still really cool to watch everyone fight each other. So, yeah, I guess it's been a mixed bag this season, but it was still mostly positive because it's just entertaining. I want to know more about everything, and that's what's keeping me interested, which is a sign of good writing, in my opinion. I just need to plot to be a little more structured, and it'll be damn near close to perfect. If you liked the first season, this season will blow you away, I'd say. It's a big step up, and I'm actually extremely excited to continue on. Off I go!

This is a work that in the first season was greatly overestimated by me. I began to watch with few pretensions, just to have fun and to know new works. At first I found the anime a little cliché, besides some characters being very uninteresting at my sight (so much that my note was a 6). But, I'm proud to say that the second season was able to hold me much more, mainly by the deepening of those same characters that I criticized. A good example would be the Dazai, who in the first season was nothing but simple comic relief and mentor to Atsushi, the main protagonist of the anime. All because of the character being that way and being what it is was very well explained this season. His relationships with the Mafia teammates, the boss and even the Mafia itself is all well explained, so pleasing to the viewer. For these and other reasons, Dazai became my favorite character in the story. Atsushi was one of the things that made me criticize the first season. A character devoid of intelligence, with a hidden power, always screaming and running to save others. Basically a simple generic shounen character. However, even with those same problems remaining this season, everything was well reduced, leaving his arc well balanced with that of Dazai himself. Even though he is clearly the protagonist, the season is concerned not only focusing on him but a lot of the other characters, which brings us to Akutagawa. Being placed in the first season as a simple villain / rival of Atsushi, Akutagawa gains a better deepening now in the second part of the anime. His rations and motives become clearer and even though he is a murderer who kills in cold blood, in certain parts you accommodate the character, maybe even cheering for him in the final battle. All his speech given to Atsushi about the protagonist's past creates an extra layer to the character. My only complaints with the anime were a few drops of animation, especially in relation to the faces of the characters. Even at a relatively close distance from the "camera" the characters ended up becoming faceless, and this remained for many seconds until the scene was exchanged; in other cases, their mouths also did not move, even some of the characters being close to the screen. Even though this is to save animation frames, it has not stopped bothering me sometimes. If it had happened one time or another I would have given a much higher score, but since this happened almost every episode I had to review my criticism. In summary, however much they have some loose ends and problems of design, the anime managed to amuse me and entertain me until the end. And that's what matters. I am very anxious for the third season, which I will probably watch as soon as possible. And below are my notes on important points and the general note: History: 8 Art and animation: 6 Sounds (OST, OP, ED): 7 Characters: 9 Plot twist: 8 Achievement: 8 Overall Rating: 8.2 ------ PARA BRAZILEIROS (For Brazilians) ------ Essa é uma obra que na primeira temporada foi muito superestimada por mim.

Bungo Stray Dogs Season 2 Anime Review By: Asaguri Kafuka April 30, 2019 Overall: 10 Plot: 10 The season 2 series started with the past of Dazai in his Port Mafia times. It was explained why he left the organization on the first place. It was shown how he can be so ruthless and manipulative, as well as empty. Along the story, the scenario was brought back to the present where they need to defeat the other organization who wanted to crush them, the Guild. This season displayed the conflict between the three organization. I mean, it should be four but the other one offers a very minimal distribution. Different gifts has been presented and a new secret is needing to be discovered. Characters: 10 If I love Dazai on Season1, I can die for him on Season 2. Kidding! His character so much more interesting in this Season. He showed new role quite expected but totally overwhelming. You know the feeling when a character only show their good side and then finally went in rage? Something like that. What's really amazing on his character is his talent to outsmart the enemy, as well as how almost perfect his plan is. His character is not perfect. He is still the suicidal maniac he's supposed to be. A dangerous man behind his laughing face. The other characters, though supporting, also have different roles that was presented successfully. They always tend to one another and is willing to help. However, I think the season 2 was really focused on Dazai, Kyouka, Atsushi and Akutagawa. Sound and Animation: 10 I freaking love the expression on every characters face. The best part is when they are angry. It is so satisfying. Apart from Dazai, I like the looks of Chuuya, his Ex-Partner in Port Mafia. The creation of those two characters are awesome. The opening and ending songs are also good, but I really prefer the ending song in Season 1. Really can't get over on that song, really feel the emotion whenever I hear it. Enjoyment: 10 Double the season, double the enjoyment, double the fun, double the fangirling. I just gave a perfect point review on season one. If only I can give a double perfect here, I would. Hahaha. This season caught me off guard. I never expected that they would present Dazai's past that soon. Well, maybe it was really the best time to do so. It was exciting, and fun. It's really a great watch. Ending: 10 After finishing this series. I watched the movie and extra episode immediately. This is one of my type of anime. Not too OP, not too cliche, not too dumb. Just perfect. A hint of new enemy is there. He's just around thr corner waiting for the right time to attack. And here's our protagonist planning and training those with him, preparing for the war that will come.

I took a big break between one season and another, but this did not affect too much on understand the history, only in some mentions of the previous season, so I had to force my head too much to Remember. It was a split and individual season (in the case, only knowing the intro of the characters already helped to know what happened in the anime). I found it very cool the beginning talking about how the Dazai entered the detective agency, for me the season could be just about that, this bow had few good things but they were worth, like the ramp not wanting to admit that has no powers, the Akutagawa wanting the Dazai Recognize him, and even the Chuuya and Dazai fighting together.

If having watched the first season, you are unsure whether its worth continuing on with the series, rest assured the second season is better. The story line for the second season is more series oriented rather than being episodic like the first season was. The first arc (which is more of a prequel), while annoying at first because it doesn't follow directly on from the first season, turned out to be very enjoyable. Episode 5 we return to the story that was set up at the end of the first season and other than one random episode about the super detective guy, it was non-stop action. Definitely recommend continuing with the series (unless you hated the first season, in which case, why are you even looking at this?)

Story starts with a beautiful narration and this brings us some backstory and the conflicts of individual characters. Early part where backstory runs is just awesome and the way they presented is simply outstanding. I wish there was a movie or few OVA based on Oda Sakasuke as a protagonist. Later part, which brings the war between organization was well presented. I felt like there could have been some more screen time for characters as everything was finished in a moment it started. Some more action would have been great though. Each character leaves a unique impression as the story progress. Finally, ending gave the hype for the next season. Ending sound track in beautiful. I can't say that everyone will like this anime but it's just beautiful. Love this anime. So hyped for the next season!!

*contain spoilers* To be honest, I almost gave up on this show because there were some episodes (in 1st and 2nd season) that quite boring in my opinion. There were not much improvement on the story around those episodes. The Agency was basically just running around chasing the bad guys and getting to know with each character in each episodes. BUT, I'm glad that I decided to keep watching the show and see how it goes. And yes, now I know why many people like this show. The last eight episodes were EPIC. I didn't expect The Agency to work together with Port Mafia to defeat The Guild. And every battle after that is just GREAT. The battle between The Guild's members vs Chuuya-Dazai and the final battle of Atsushi-Akutagawa were the most entertaining, breathtaking battles in this series. The art is also great, it has the 'slice of life genre' type of style and also the 'action genre' type of style. And it created something that is not too heavy/serious but also not too light (honestly I don't know how to explain this). The animators did a pretty good job in combining these two styles. The seiyuus also did a great job, the expressions of every characters were perfect, especially with the jokes! The jokes are AWESOME!

This review may contain SPOILERS!!! Seconds season starts off four years before the events of the first season for the first four episodes. It shows what Dazai was like in his dark past; how he went from being a part of Port Mafia to the Armed Detective Agency. The arc was really dark and sad. After the first four episodes, it continues from where it left off with the first season which is the second arc (episode 5, 6, 7, 8 of second season). Now, there's a war going on between the gifted organizations; the Armed Detective Agency, Port Mafia, and the Guild. Since the Guild are really powerful and that they want to burn the city the two opposing team live in, both Armed Detective Agency and Port Mafia decides to team up with each other to defeat the Guild. After the 8th episode, the third arc comes in. In this arc, the Armed Detective Agency and Port Mafia defeat the Guild and put an end to them. It focuses a lot on Atsushi and Akutagawa, showing that there is a big difference between the two but yet, they seem so similar. Their goals are relevant but, from a afar standpoint, the two seemed totally different. Atsushi stops pitying himself at this point. The art is the same as first season as season two was made in the same year as it is still splendid. It still has the funny expressions as well. The sound quality is still great. The opening soundtrack is pretty good and is a lot better than the first. A few more interesting characters with cool abilities were introduced in this season and some of the previous ones received some more backstory to them. Dazai, Lucy, and Mori were some of those who had their backstory shown, especially Dazai's. These characters' expressions are still funny as ever. The only thing that I did not like for character design was Francis' ability, The Great Fitzgerald, to spend money for power and then when he runs out, he becomes weak which I find really stupid. His motive for burning down an entire city is pretty stupid as well. Side note: A theory of mine but each gifted organization has at least an orphan on their side, this makes me assume that the anime's title is based on this. There were also orphans that were being taken care of by Dazai's friend in the first arc of this season. Second season was really enjoyable. All three arcs had a great story. The first was interesting and it also left me in tears at certain scenes. The second was pretty exciting, seeing what each organization comes up for a plan to protect themselves and to oppose others. The third left me in awe with it's turn of events and epic battles, especially the last one. Overall, this gets a 9/10 and a MUST watch for those who have seen the first season!

When you see a development of an anime... Here we go: Story: holy crap, what a beautiful and good constructed story for a second season, huh? the first four episodes were simply AWESOME!!! There we've seen why Dazai had go to the Division. The others episodes, incredible too!! the plot is very consistent. Some doubts still exists: Why the mafia wanted the government charter? Who is Guilda? Why Atsushi does value so much? Art: The worst thing in the Second Season... lol, what were that faces without face??? they did without money, lazy...??? This was annoyed me so much, omg. Sound: The OST was kinda good, not awesome, just good. Opening: Daaaaamn I really liked it, of course I'll hear this music in another times Ending: good as well, nothing awesome as the opening or the last ending, but is good too. Character: All Characters was well developed in this season Dazai: Atsushi is the Main character or him? Idk, but the anime without him of course doesn't would work. Atsushi: "Dear, You've to grow up, when you gonna understand it? DOES DEVELOP NOW!!!" I felt this in all episodes, and in the final I did felt like a father who sees your son walking. Kyouka: A great potential character, I shipp so much her with Atsushi, lol!! I hope she evolue more and do get more space in the anime. Akutagawa: it's a really hard name lol. He's so shallow, I don't like this type of personage, he reminds me Mugen from Samurai Champloo, he just want to kill what he sees in the front. Oda: awesome personage, what happened with him just had to happen, sadly. Enjoyment: All episodes You'll want to see the next episode, the season will hold your attention. I barely can hope to see the third season ;)

I wrote a review for the first season, but despite having ripped apart several aspects of the series, despite somewhat enjoying it overall, I still returned, hopeful that they would be able to impress me with the second season. And surprisingly, my hope paid off. Not only did they significantly improve on the methods through which the characters and character relationships were developed, but their attempt at creating an enticing storyline was unexpectedly impressive. Starting off the season with a full 4 episodes of context-building backstory regarding Dazai's past in the Port Mafia and why he betrayed them that did not rely on contrived, desperate plotlines or excess exposition but rather built a touching story in and of itself gave me refreshing new feelings towards this series as a whole. The concept of a shaky yet powerful alliance between the Port Mafia and Armed forces allows for natural character relationship development and backstory reveals, giving the storyline a natural flow that the first season somewhat missed out on by not giving the characters an ultimate goal. The more frequent references to the books written by the authors that inspired the characters finally gave the series the musty, bookshelf, literary air that I believe they hoped to create from the moment of its conception. Of course, several of the characters still are less than original (or possibly redrawn/recoloured versions of characters from other Anime), and while we now know that both the Port Mafia and the Armed forces love the city they share, this just makes me question why they were fighting in the first place more. However, the pleasant surprise of this second season being a good way to binge watch away my life at 2 am in the morning without getting bored has me in a good mood, so I shall partially overlook these aspects for now. Good series. I would recommend it to my peers, albeit not before reminding them that it gets a lot better in this second season. :3

This is honestly my absolute favorite anime and I’m not even exaggerating. From the very first episode, I couldn’t put it down. It grabbed me instantly with its atmosphere, characters, and that perfect mix of mystery, action, and emotional chaos. And when I finally finished the series… I had to take a whole week off just to calm down. I was way too excited, and the idea that the anime might end ( only for a new season to suddenly appear) completely destroyed me in the best way. What really surprised me is how the story keeps going. There were moments where it genuinely felt like everything was wrapping up, like we were heading toward the final conclusion… and then BAM. an unexpected twist, a new arc, a new season, and suddenly I’m screaming into the void again. The plot just refuses to slow down, and I love it for that. I seriously can’t wait for the next season. This one was perfect, the pacing, the reveals, the character development, the emotional damage, everything. You literally couldn’t pull me away from the screen. I’m addicted to it, fully and proudly. And honestly? I could watch it again several times without getting bored. Bungo Stray Dogs just hits different.

Bungou Stray Dogs 2nd Season follows the battle between the 3 main gangs that were introduced previously on the 1st season , the Detective Agency , Port Mafia and finally The Guild . In all honesty , this season felt that had quite an interesting pacing regarding the action and the character development . First and foremost , the 4 starting episodes revolve around Dazai's past and how he became to be a Detective Agency's executive and it was ALRIGHT to say the least , very cliche stuff that is oftenly used in development . In order to not spoil anything , I will highlight only that Dazai became a " good citizen " just because he was forced to by ethical means and for his will of being a good friend . Secondly , the rest of the season continues at the present where it was left of . If I had to pinpoint one good that this season had was the chemistry between Atsushi and Akutagawa reflecting each other's personality respectively and how Dazai's plan came to a meaningful conclusion . Other than that , the rest of the season is having quite the ups and downs . I do not really comprehend why Bones gave such a identity crisis to Bungou Stray Dogs being the character's part and the music accordingly , there is really a weird vibe to it that I cannot get around my head easily . There where scenes that characters would be willing to make jokes when a serious situation would be brought up and then suddenly get all Locked In - Serious mode . In my eyes this is not achieved comedy , it is bluntantly speaking odd . And then the music , jazz soundtracks were somewhat fire but the rest was really forgettable . I believe S1 did a much better job at this part . Last but not least , the animation just wasn't really that great and characters looked off at certain angles and environments . Finally , the main Boss of the S2's story is not a guy that I would cheer for , just because his motives were pretty damn generic and not worth the time . Mr America wanted Atsushi for the Bounty that he had set and I assume vengeance from the Detective Agency that they didn't give their rights to him , it is all about money we are talking about . I suppose his wife's story was somewhat convincing but nope your motives are quite mediocre . I was expecting something way more intriguing . To conclude , S2 was pretty OK for the most part . It had its moments there and there . For those who watched 1st season just expect the same pace and do not have high expectations , only for Dazai because I really like how he is carrying the story for it to become much more interesting than it seems to be .

Tbh the first season was an absolute disappointment in my opinion with respect to the hype. I am the kind of person who doesn't continue a series if its not worth it and it took me around 6 months to finish s1 which only had 12 eps . The story for first season was fast paced , the world and character building was not up to mark . I often found myself trying to complete it just for the sake of completing it. After abandoning the series for good I saw trailer for season 4 and it piqued my interest. So I decided to watch season 2 and it was good. The anime basically saved itself in season 2 . The first 4 eps was a a good arc gave me a shit ton of emotions and the dark eerie feeling was absolutely something to die for . The anime did a great job of not overwhelming the audience as it did in season 1. It had a good pace to it . And I overall enjoyed season 2. I also think the animation improved quite a lot . Opening song and the ending song were also quite good
