Probably the most damning thing I could say about this was I was checking my phone a lot. Barely took any screen caps. There's some of the old magic here but in fits and starts. Doesn't so much as take a while to get going as never gets started. And pacing is never something I cared about with Cardcaptor Sakura, the original production is just such a gorgeous towering work. The Madhouse of 2018 is not the same as the Madhouse of 1998. They've gone from being a studio with a very visually distinctive art style, great colour balance and in betweening to making this blown out overly filtered show with stiff lifeless compositions. I kept having to tilt my laptop screen back like that would make a difference. It's not all bad some of the character stuff is good but good in the sense of, thinking about it on an intellectual level, it never hits at the level of the heart. Cardcaptor Sakura was such a love letter to the original work as an adaption, they did so much adaptive work to bring it to life and to watch them go through the motions with it here and replay some of the old hits is just sad. But idk, it's still Cardcaptor Sakura, there are some great Tomoyo moments, and I love the two parter where Meiling returns. Overall I'm still looking forward to the next season, I think some of the stuff they've set up is interesting but I hope they change up how it looks.

Not what i thought it was. Honestly it's more worth reading the manga than watching the anime :/ Why?... My first impressions upon watching the prequel for the first time were great as I was blinded by the fanaticism. But seeing this anime for the second time I realize the points that are wrong in this sequel. Mainly the filler in this anime is a problem, it delays the main plot and distracts you from what is important. Some things in this anime are illogical like communication issues. In story terms i give it a 5/10. I think it's a bad sequel because of how it progresses, but it has its good points, like the animation and the special effects, for this term i give it a 8/10, the opening themes are also very good wich i give a 8/10. Turning to the subject of the characters, I didn't like the fact that they made Kerberos dumber, I feel like they murdered his character who could be funny and serious in various situations when it was necessary. The rest of the characters maintain their personality completely, being the same as they were in the prequel. At this point I give it a 5/10. Overall its a bad sequel but not horrifying, anyone who likes this series enough can perfectly enjoy this anime. I give it a 6/10.

The new sequel series is rather okay and that’s it basically. It has some nostalgia which is not bad, especially the modern art-style have some similarities to 90s art-style version. Although, I believe it’s time for the studio to do a remake or a reboot of the anime altogether with the nostalgic art-style rather than the nostalgic episodes. Now, the anime is a little boring to some people and it does not bring back the feels from the previous seasons. The action-packed for several episodes have been reduced or is a little short and the colors are more lighter pastel that are mostly seen in the romance or slice of life anime. The light or bright colors felt strange since the previous uses darker colors and have many exciting actions. The main protagonist is collecting many cards once again which is basically similar to the beginning. This show would be great for shippers that prefer romance and slice of life. If not, it’s not for you unless it’s for nostalgic reasons. To recap, I do preferred a remake of Cardcaptor Sakura faithfully following the entire manga version for older teens/ adults without skipping any details, with more action-pack/ strategies, still use the 90s art-style, and using more darker colors rather than the light pastel colors, etc.

Dabs of nostalgia. I love the comeback! I truly enjoyed watching Sakura and Syaoran's moments. let alone see more of Daidoji and Meilin (visiting tomoeda) once more. so long fan fiction really. As for the art, I cannot disagree with the overall artwork. I think the animators and mangakas have done such a stellar job. My only complaint is how close it now feels to Chihayafuru. I mean that anime is interesting and the artwork really did mesh in greatly for the whole series. However, seeing that glow in Card Captor Sakura is a tad bit too bright for my taste. so thus the mixed emotions. I'm looking forward for season 2. I hope I get to see more interesting stories! as always. Clamp really has a great sense of fashion style anyway. so I guess I have more time to dive into their fashion as I wait for the stories. <3
