NO SPOILER What an easy task, this time, writing a review. Here are my ratings Story: 3 Yes, there's no story at all, to be honest; we're even far from "the story is only a poor mean to show the character's development"...what devel.? (Character: 4) Art: 7 Art is pretty good, the mecha desing is nice, also in the way they use to merge them with magic elements. Sound: 7 Nice OST, not memorable but fit the mood, and it's their job, right? Enjoyment: 6 It was fun watching the mecha fighting scene, the animation was good so they were rather enjoyable. Overall: 5 Watch it only if you're a mecha fan, otherwise avoid it.

If there was anything I learned from this anime, it’s that no one should ever underestimate an otaku and his “hobby”. Knight’s & Magic is an anime about mechas and magic. Yes the combo might sound very contrasting but the anime does so well to execute the combination of the two elements that I couldn’t help but be entertained throughout the whole way. The magic is actually the source of power for the mechas and since they live in the middle ages, modern conventional power sources haven’t been invented yet. They certainly executed the machines being powered by magic trope far better than Broken Blade, the only other anime to my knowledge that uses magic as the catalyst to piloting a mecha. The story begins in modern day Japan where a gunpla otaku who is an extremely efficient programmer dies of an accident. He is then reincarnated into another world as Ernesti Echevarria (man that’s a mouthful). In his new world, giant mechas called Silhouette Knights are common sight and they are constantly fighting against big monsters called demon beasts. Thanks to his new life, Ernesti can finally realize his dreams of creating mechas, so he got to work fast on learning about magic and how the robots work. A little too fast though since he had already started creating revolutionary machines and soloing fleet worthy giant demon beasts at the age of 12.Eventually Ernesti and his friends don’t just fight demon beasts but also other nations who have their own Silhouette Knights, which is a dream come true for the young boy since his sense of aesthetics is that Mechas should only be destroyed by other mechas. And while he’s busy making more powerful mechas and demolishing his enemies with it, he takes them and studies how they make them work. All of this is done for the sake of his “hobby”. Isekai (reborn in a new world) stories are my guilty pleasure since I love to see the implications of what would happen if you had a 21st century mind in an era of walls, steel, and magic. And this anime showed a great deal of it since Ernesti was creating new advancements in the Silhouette Knights industry 1-4 mechs in a month or two compared to having a new design every 3 centuries. Yes he was going at a centuries century’s pace. He was also busy making miniature suits that would benefit him and his friends on the side to boot. To the boy, magic is basically a program, so casting fire is as elementary as “Hello World”. Another great thing about it is that it is not a harem anime. Ernesti doesn’t even realize the girl beside him and only cares about cold steel. While the story is pure escapism, I have to applaud the very impressive way the direction was executed. Not only did they create an entertaining anime but the plot was very consistent and was devoid of any filler to the untrained eye. The pacing was definitely rushed but it never gave you that feeling, it took me a while to realize it and was amazed how they managed to do it. It was a surprisingly complete story from beginning to end, everything is so straightforward and there are no flashbacks or anything that holds back the plot. It was so straight to the point that they ended all of it in just 13 episodes. It is quite rare for an anime to do all of that especially if the source material is a light novel. Sometimes even a 2nd season can’t finish the entire plot. Usually the the author and studio would just agree that if fans want to find out what happens next then we have to buy the novels and for us fans outside of Japan, we have no access to buying them and we still have to face the language barrier. So I nearly couldn’t be any happier than seeing this anime tell us a story from start to finish given the number of episodes that were allotted to it. Hopefully more light novel adaptations can be more like this. The art was definitely a treat since the character designs were really well done but kudos to the design of Ernesti since he was a cute trap throughout the anime. The mechas were incredibly detailed it was like mecha porn. The anime had the 2nd most realistic mechas I have ever seen with the 1st being in Broken Blade. The demon beasts had probably the best CGI and were amazing to behold while a certain few mechas suffered from it. The weapon designs could have been better like the rods while only a few blades showed some cool or authentic designs. The anime also has one of the best opening sequences I have ever heard in my life and while the tune got me excited for another adventure of another episode, the main reason was that they added SFXs to go with the sequence. From tiny ones like a mecha head turning to blasting all the firearms, that little bit of detail captured my ears and it instantly became one of my favorite opening sequences of all time. Unfortunately the background music didn’t have anything that was memorable while the ending sequence was also forgettable but it did have an epic picturesque scene that captures the trap beauty of Ernesti and the mechas surrounding him. The anime really does a great job in what it would be like if you were a mecha architect who wanted to make some of the most revolutionary mechas in as fast as possible. The development process was basically design and innovate but it was so well done that I had no complaints sine the technical jargons would usually diminish any form of enjoyment in the long run. I also love how they captured Ernesti’s childish innocence in pursuing his passion, nearly nothing was as consistently enjoyable in the anime as seeing a happy enthusiastic smile from our OP trap MC. This is an amazing anime to just binge watch, which I did and I was so excited to see the next episode as soon as the last one was finished. While it did suffer a bit from the character development of the side characters, it didn’t detract a bit from my overall enjoyment of the entire show. Had the anime continued on to that one story in the ending then I would have lost it since they stated where my true passion lies. This is one of the best animes I have ever seen and I easily recommend it to anyone who loves mecha, isekai stories, and adventure. P.S. A very bad show thats a bit entertaining. The biggest issue, really, is tone. The show is a light hearted romp through a man-child's fantasy of playing robots, but for some reason is set in a fantasy world besieged by demons and constantly at war. Hundreds of people die in the wars and conflicts, but the main character always succeeds and never cares. It feels fundamentally at odds; as though Ernesti is playing with Medabots the whole time, but his attitude is never examined by the writing in any capacity. It's not funny either, or dramatic, or even particularly clever. Who is this show even for? As plenty of others have pointed out, all of the politics are ignored, and none of the drama ever functions, since the characters not only never lose, but never even struggle. Not that every story has to have character arcs, or real conflict, but again, it feels like a wild mismatch to have the tone of a high-school-girls'-casual-club-anime in a war-torn monster-ridden fantasy world played totally straight. It'd make much more sense if the framing device never dumped the MC in the fantasy world, and it was about passionate toy-mecha makers and coders having a hobby tournament. Maybe even a little bit of work-life vs hobby-life conflict in there to make the MC investigate his real desires for fun vs responsibility, or even figuring out a way to combine the two. And for being a show about geniuses there's a bit too much ignoring of any sense of how any of the work ever *actually* gets done. Where are the mines and the smelters and forges? Where are they getting all their commodities from? Where are the lathes, mills, hammers, presses? Who the hell figured out how metallurgy works in this world? How do they actually pay for any of this stuff? There's a profound sense that the writers never did any research into how anything actually gets made (or how wars work). Any concrete details that ground the world would go a long way. Sure they spend a couple scenes on braiding the magic muscle fibers, but how do those fibers even get made? What're they made of? Who invented them, and how? I'm not a pedant that needs every question answered in my fantasy stories, but when the central thrust of the show is getting into how the engineers design and build these things, there's startlingly little specific details. The show constantly tells us how clever Ernesti is, but at no point did I ever think the writers had been clever. In any case, it's harmless enough. The action bits are alright, and the show is closest to being good when it's more about the development of the mecha, despite how nonce it is. The characters hardly even rise to the status of boring cliché, the plot is nonsense, there is no drama. Recommended if you like to watch other people play with toy robots in a very straight forward and childish "but now my robot has *four arms* and is *invisible*," kind of way.

Knights and Magic and anime about mechas that can use Magic as well. Personally I liked the mecha designs and the action. However out main character kinda takes away a lot of the intensity of a fight as he's way to overpowered. Does he have God mode on as he's way to powerful even when not using his personal machine. No other character really stands out or even get's the spot light on them. sure we got some atractive looking characters but I wish we get to know them. Or their just forgotten about. a later character is so down in the dumps I wanted to slap her. Animation is pretty cool, loved it on the first boss enemy of the series as it was awesome looking The Mecha's look like Knights which I like. However this show is far to short for it's own good. Thus everything feels rushed as we do a lot of time skips giving the viewer little time to digest what's happening in the story and to the characters. Now for the world. I feel like the anime sort of forgot about the monsters it has and did the same as the Robot wars anime. Where it focused very little on the alien/monster bad guys and instead on bad humans. I feel like a class president, Helvi and the Queen got tossed aside. I know why some weren't in it that much but I'd have liked to know more about them. I feel that without Eru everyone else would have died long ago in this series. I also feel like Eru was meant to be a girl but that was changed last minute to him being a boy. Personally I enjoyed the Mecha action and character interaction but most everyone else isn't important enough to remember. Over all I give this show a 7.5/10.

Sometimes you encounter a show/film that just smittens you so much that you cannot help but gleam in happiness. The cast of Knight's & Magic along with the carefree nature of the beginning half of the show is quite amazing to behold...but is the rest of the show up to the same level? Story: 3.5/10 First and foremost let me say this; I really like the plot of Knight's & Magic. It has this special “air” about it that I cannot find myself to fully explain. Even though I consider myself not a fan of mecha anime, this series makes it really interesting. From episode one I was completely captivated by its overall feeling. The way the MC and his closest friends progress though the early stages was so much fun to watch. As they move through the school-focused arcs, they and their new allies find themselves with the creative freedom to make their own robots. It is at this point however when the show shows its greatest weakness; the pacing. This is one of the first times I can say this about an anime; they crammed way too much into thirteen episodes. The show takes way too far of time skips (sometimes months) and skips a lot of the smaller world building moments. Honestly they should have expanded on the first six or so episode's material and made that the entire season. The amount of time skipped in those sections really fast-tracked the character development. What happens later on in the season is much of the same but instead of character development being missed out on, it is world building and faction building. I'm not sure if the source material was like this too (I hope not) but it doesn't matter. What matters is what is in the anime and because of this fatal flaw, I was unable to fully enjoy the show. Luckily the other elements of the show makes up for the pacing shortcomings. Art/Animation: 8/10 The art style of the show was very much to my liking. The colors used in the scenes just seem to make the world feel just right. This is also helped by actual good use of CG. All the robots (from what I can tell) were animated using CG models. They still have a clunky look to them but I think that was also an intentional element since the robots are primitive for the most part. The character models are also quite great. Each main character's character model easily tells you everything you need to know about the character. The MC's earnest love for technology is shown tenfold by his appearance and actions. His two closest friends are brother and sister and they actually look similar (something anime somehow fucks up more times than not). Animation wise the show has great moments then a lot of ok moments. The high movement/action scenes flow nicely but some of the low-key ones are pretty meh in both animation and art quality. As anime is usually made on a very tight time schedule, it was easy to tell which parts got less love from the animation studio. It was too off-putting but it's there to easily see. Sound: 9/10 The music in this season was quite great. The main theme is very catchy and really pumps up w/e scene it is in. The rest of the music also fits in quite nicely. The miscellaneous noises that populates the world (animals, robot sounds, ext) were pretty well crafted too. The battles really feel amazing due to this element. Characters: 9/10 This is where the show really shines in my opinion. To make up for the breakneck pacing and lack of world building (in some sections), the characters steal the spotlight. The MC is absolutely a gem in my book. His absolute earnest drive to make robots coupled with his inherent kindness and morals makes him such a likable figure. There was a sort of mini arc in the first half of the season where the MC essentially helps one of the main robot pilots get over his hidden fear of defeat. Because of this, that character turns out to be a very prominent and likable character later on in the series. The MC just has that special ability to elevate others no matter the situation. The other main characters all have super likable traits too which makes the cast so much fun to watch interact with each other. The only thing character wise that let me down were the final arc's villains. All of them (except one) were just your stereotypical, cookie cutter “We're bad and we want to conquer all!” type antagonists. Their tactics seemed pretty week compared to the MC's and overall never really seemed to pose a real threat (other than the last two or so episodes). I tend to really like antagonists that you can see yourself siding with due to their characteristics and actions. This show had none of that. This is absolutely a show where if you find yourself not liking the characters you should probably drop. It is the main thing the show uses as a crutch in order to make up for the lack of attention to detail plot wise. Overall: 7.4/10 I didn't even mention in the review that the MC was once alive in our time as a programmer. It really didn't strike me as important but it does explain how the MC is able to break down magical elements in this new world so quickly. This was in my opinion however an unnecessary shoe-horning in of the “isekai” genre into a show that didn't really need it. Maybe it is brought up as a plot device in the source material; I'll never find out unless it gets adapted into more anime episodes. The show was still a real stand out for me this season. I only ended up sticking with four or so shows this season and I would rank the final, full version of this season around 2nd out of the 4. Its charm is just impossible to escape and those first five or so episodes were really something special. The pacing however is just impossible to look over since it is so ingrained into the show. Regardless, I really recommend that you give this show a shot if you are ever looking for a cool mecha show with an older time period feel. Enjoyment: 7/10 Thanks for reading my review! If you liked my writing style, would like to see some other reviews, or just want to talk, please stop by my page! Sincerely, Awesome Drummer

Knight's & Magic is another entry into the isekai category of anime. This time around, the isekai element is used as a catalyst for the story of our mecha-obsessed main protagonist. I thought the story of Knight's & Magic was a very fun one and it was mainly focused around the development of mechs and the battles between them. The conflicts that take place in this other world just serve as a vehicle to get us to that plot point. One thing to note is that the pacing of the story is very fast and it's apparent even if you haven't read the source material. In some instances it was good like in the first episode where it eliminated a lot of scenes that I think did not need to be animated but in other instances you wish that the show slowed down so that more story or character development could have be done. The art was great and the animation was well done. A special mention has to go out for the 3D animation that was used for the mechs. I thought it was some of the best use I've seen of CGI in motion in a TV anime. The characters are likable albeit a little bit on the generic side. The main character Ernesti Echevarria, feels overpowered at times and this may irk some people. It definitely contributes to the lack of danger the anime seems to have. Knight's & Magic is one of the better Mecha anime that I have seen in recent memory and it was an enjoyable watch.

This is my 4th review and I'll be doing this from now on for fans of anime and for those who are considering on watching this anime. So here goes. Story: I gave it a 6/10. I think it was fine in some parts. But ultimately you could tell it was rushed. Fans of the series who have read the light novel have specified so. Still I have to respect another world anime genre(Isekai for short). A mecha otaku reincarnated into another world, a dream world. One with big silhouette knights can make anyone go crazy. The passion sure shows in the MC Ernie. He befriends Ady and Chid at a young age and they're inspired to become Knight Runners. Art: Like any typical mecha anime, the focus usually resides on the design of them. I think they were well detailed. Especially Ernie's. I can not relay to much since it's spoiling. But, ultimately, it was good in some places, lacked in others. The character design is what stood out most to me. I think they blended them in well. I can not describe to well on my thought process of this art section. But let's just say I give it a strong 7/10. Sound: Hmm...Sound I will give a 7/10. Most of the time that damn opening it what let me to be impressed with noise add ons and such. You can hear the blast off/maneuvers of the knights extremely well. The moments they attacked, explosions too. Every time the knights would collide swords or magic attacks were put into play, I was left shaking my head yes for "well done". Character/Characters: Ernie: I really loved his passion for mecha. A lot of folk usually hate big robots and show their disapproval of them well. But he, was fascinated by them. Wanted to build his own, be creative. He received his chance when reborn in the other world. From there he was ensnared by what befell him. His curiosity and question asking went through the roof. This isn't the first series I've gotten into where a kid MC is the star/genius of everything that occurs. I just hope whatever goes down in the Light Novel doesn't destroy Ernie in good time. Too much creativeness can be a bad thing. Or is that greed? Ha, ha. Adeltrud/Ady: Got to love her. She fell for Ernie right away when they grew up together. Showed her jealousy big time too whenever someone was trying to claw their hands all over Ernie. Especially Stefania. I love her girl who get's jealous. It certainly is a great emotion. Shows a lot about their character and what they're willing to do as they go forward. Just my thought on the matter though with Ady, hehehe. She's great. Archid/Chid: Chid and Ady were both solid partners in helping Ernie with his dream. Of course, Ernie originally helped them by teaching them what he knows when they were young kids. As the anime progresses I think Chid had the better share of development than Ady. I admired his will to act instead of staying still when things got rough. However, I believed he picked that habit up mostly from Ernie. I liked EP's 10-13 of the anime the most. He really shows who he truly is and want's to become. Chid expresses he wants to become stronger. He starts off by protecting Eleonore. I really am extra curious how they relationship turns out in the LN. I believe now I'll have to read it or do some research to understand better. Eleonore/supporting characters: Eleonore went through that rough patch of seeing her father pass away and her having to make the tough decision to lead. Would she be able to do it? Would they accept her? So on. Like I said with Chid he stepped in and provided her with the confidence she needed. Like a knight should. This is why like I said that I'm extra curious now if their relationship goes any further. I believe it will. As for the Order of Silver Phoenix. I give them credit for their hard work and for not giving up on Ernie. I guess that's why they're there to support. Enjoyment: A tough call. I was stuck between a 6 or a 7 most of the way. But since I enjoyed this series more than I should have. I gave it a 7. A lot of my friends on twitter were telling me this anime wasn't really a must watch. In truth, I would agree with them. But my love for mecha shows no bounds. Like Ernie, I love giant robots who do battle. Muv Luv is a good example too. Total Eclipse. I recommend it. Code Geass is a big reason why I love Mecha. I don't think I have to even explain why there. I wish this anime received more than 13 EP's. If it was 22-26 EP's long. They probably could've tagged better with character growth, maybe the story a little better. A rush job never pleases anyone. Overall: My score for Knights&Magic was a 7/10. Aside from me giving the story a 6. That didn't comprehend with what I was going to give it. Anyway, this series isn't a must watch. I'll agree with my mates there. Although, I think it's worth killing some time on to enjoy another anime to add to that completed column. Thanks for reading my review.

This anime has a lot packed into such a short series. The end episode leaves it open for future series but they are not necessary. The characters all have specific roles and this therefore makes the anime interesting and fun to watch. Along with this we see the presence of technology and magic co-existing side by side in endless developments which causes a relation to be formed in the watcher between the anime's story and real life, it also causes you to think, "Maybe all this will be possible one day?" and gives the initiative of showing that it could be done with the materials we have in use in this day and age used in a different way. If we think of the anime as a new life story we can estimate into the future, and if there is another series, we can see without reading the original work that all the characters will have more future roles to play. My personal opinion, not based on the original work as i have never read it, is that i would like to see more development and battles with opposing forces (people not just beasts). But this time with there own technology that isn't stolen or now in use by Ernesti's group. Back to the Anime that has been created. I believe that the story could have been improved to show more of events and therefore possibly doubled or more the amount of episodes in the series. This would have kept people hooked and the enjoyment would have stayed around for longer. Anyway thats all i have to say for now, I hope no-one has any problems with my review.

A brilliant idea. A mecha anime based in a medieval/fantasy setting surprisingly mixes really well. The anime is great fun to watch with beautiful and flowing animation for the battle scenes as well as such cool designs for each mecha. It contains some many different varieties of mecha and is so nice to see how they come up with the ideas for building them. I'll admit that the Main Character is a little over powered, however i totally overlooked this throughout the entire anime because i was always excited what he would do next and was always surprised with the results. I highly recommend this anime for any mecha fans out there, especially if you want to see cool designs. One gripe that i had however is with the intro, it has good music and good animation however around half way through the series they start putting in sound effects over the music, completely disconnecting you from it and ruining it. As a result of this i started skipping the intro entirely which is normally something i am against.

As someone who has read the manga before-hand, I would most certainly tell someone to read it before watching the anime. Simply, because it explains a lot more of what many people seem to be criticizing regarding the story and characters. Overall, I am giving the show a 7 because I found it to be entertaining merely for the fact of seeing it animated however that being said it was executed poorly. It won't be for everyone and those who will find the most enjoyment out of it are those whom have read the manga (Like myself) or those whom are hardcore Mecha fans.

A run of the mill reincarnation Isekai with the twist that the main character is a complete dweeb and can't stop fantasizing about piloting a Gundam, to the point that the majority of the plot is pushed along by his love for bipedal humanoid fighting robots. The story of the show is.. fine, nothing spectacular but decent for the show's grade. There's only so much you can do in a 13-episode fantasy Isekai action series, and the series doesn't try to overstep its bounds. The show follows a pretty steady sequence of action followed by exposition and/or the development of new robot stuff, followed by action again. The art is actually decent, though there's a few scenes that obviously had much more love put into them than others. Voice acting is fine and the character design is pretty good, though a lot of characters' motives feel like they're introduced just to be tossed aside in the next episode (again, not much you can really do with what the show is). MC is a bit bland and doesn't have any character besides 'I love robots' and having innate reincarnation MC genius, but the supporting cast carry the show. Regardless, I think it's a fine show. Definitely enjoyable for existing viewers of the mecha genre, though I don't think I'd go out of my way to watch this one otherwise.

Don't get me wrong, this anime is truly trash but it's trash close to my heart. Some have given Knight's and Magic poor marks for its lackluster characters and character development, or its bland uninteresting world-building, but who cares about those things when you have fantasy mechs? What, you like good stories with meaningful characters and well-thought-out plots? No, that can't be right when we have mechs. This really is all this anime is about, just cool mechs fighting monsters and other mechs while children drive them. Ernesti, our reincarnated girly-boy is a fairly basic isekai protag, a former programmer and otaku who finds themselves born into a new world after a graceful encounter with a truck. Luckily for Ernesti this world has giant robots powered by magic, (sorry I mean, 'Silhouette Knights') and they fight demon beasts plus other robots. This leads our protag down a road with a lot of yada yada, followed by cool mech thing and normal isekai overpowered logic. The anime really doesn't bother to develop the characters beyond their most basic wants. Ernesti wants more mechs, Addy wants Ernesti, Kid wants to be a hero, and so on with the rest of the cast. As for why I've given it such a high rating, well you could say I appreciate the zero f's this anime gives. Not to mention its willingness to steamroll through basically anything and everything from a logical story progression. In a way, I have to give it some real respect for its disrespect for good storytelling. In all honesty, if you want to enjoy this flaming dumpster fire just turn your brain off and let it wash over you with all its weird isekai girly-boy mech nonsense, and whatever you do don't think about it.
HeroVladimir93
Ah yes, the mecha genre. That glorious form of entertainment in which giant robots fight each other, popularized by stories like Gundam, Power Rangers and Transformers. Knight's & Magic (weird title, I know) enters the arena to earn its place in such a respected genre. So, is it good? Well, let's hop on and find out, shall we? Story This is where things start to go wrong for Knight's & Magic. There is no actual story. The only thing that even remotely passes for a story is the main character Ernie's interest in robots and he wants to construct as many robots as he can... because he likes robots. Really, the "story" (yes, the air quotes are intentional) is just an excuse to feature as many designs for robots as possible and to make them fight, either against giant monsters or other robots. The show is so obsessed with depicting fights betwee giant robots that it's willing to skip crucial scenes with character development and narrative progression just to get to the action, with only endless monologues of exposition to explain viewers what's going on. Watching Knight's & Magic is like watching a blockbuster movie rush through most of its scenes just to get to the action, and that's a huge violation of the perennial rule of storytelling: "show, don't tell". Knight's & Magic makes the critical mistake of thinking its exposition and dialogue is so good that it doesn't need to make its characters do things that could endear them to the audience. Characters I've said this before and I'm sure I will say it again: characters are the life-blood of the story. He doesn't do it for fame, to help his family, to protect his homeland or whatever. He just wants to build robots because he likes robots. Yeah, that's all the characterization he gets. There are moments where he even implies that he cares more about his machines than he cares about the lives of his own wingmen. Even the argument of Ernie genuinely caring about his friends and lacking a good way of showing it can't be substantiated because we don't see Ernie and his friends engage in any kind of activity that doesn't involve robots in any way. The only way I could power through this show is by mentally replacing Ernie with Bugs Bunny. No, seriously, I had to mentally replace the protagonist of a story I didn't like with a character I like just to watch this story till the end. That said, at least Ernie has some kind of characterization. The other characters in this show exist just to prop up or propel Ernie forward, either by serving as his glorified back-up or losing to him in combat. The most annoying character in this show, aside from Ernie, is Adeltrud. She really likes Ernie... and that's all you need to know about her. Her brother, Archid, doesn't have any characterization and he had to be given a love interest just o justify his place in the story. The "heroes" are so bland and unlikeable that I found myself rooting for the bad guys. Sure, they're evil conquerors but at least they have something to prove and something to work for. The "heroes" are just coasting along, pretending their lives are hard. Art Knight's & Magic, maybe unfortunately, is good in a few ways, enough to make it feel like a missed opportunity. The visual effects are amazing, the colors are bright and lively and the backgrounds enjoy a high level of detail and nuance. Clearly, a huge amount of the production budget went into the visual department. The mecha battles are nothing short of visual spectacles, but the enjoyment of those battles is ruined by the aforementioned lack of dramatic tension and emotional stakes. Good visual effects should enhance the anime experience, not make it. I've said it before and I'm sure I'll say it again. We are basically watching robots fight each other for no reason. Cool fight scenes are not a substitute for a beating heart. Sounds I don't think Justin Briner (Ernie) is bad, but he's pretty bad on this show. The script didn't really give him a lot to work with and he had use his cheerful, tenor voice for the show's entire run and his voice is so annoying I had to stop watching a few times just to relax. The only remotely good performance is delivered by one of my personal favorites, Josh Grelle (Dietrich). Everyone else just decide to either camp it up or wing it, especially Rachael Messer (Celestina). There is no emotion in her performance. She simply read lines from a script. Conclusion Knight's & Magic isn't bad, it's just painfully mediocre and a lot of people will tell you that mediocrity is worse than outright badness. Why? Simple, really. Badness inspires action, while mediocrity inspires conformity. Knight's & Magic ends up embodying the worst streotypes attributed to the mecha genre: a non-existent story filled with unlikeable characters and an overwhelming need to include as many fight scenes as possible. The end result is a show with just barely enough spectacle to make up for its lack of substance. If you want a show with cool robot designs and visually stunning fight scenes, then yes, you should watch Knight's & Magic. If you want an interesting story with relatable characters, then I suggest you look else where. (6/10).

Normally I don't really like Mecha shows, but this being a Fantasy Isekai Robot Mix I gave it a chance. I liked the focus on engineering and politics during most of the beginning (with the show hovering around an 8 there), but the last few episodes when the "Grand Storm" arc started around Episode 9 seemed very hurried along to finish, with what seemed like relevant and interesting plot points and major character development written off in short "several months passed" narrated sequences and fast-forwarding to the end of important battles, making most battle scenes seem somewhat meaningless and investment in the new characters impossible (falling to around a 6 or maybe 5 for the final episode). The final battle was also all kinds of stupid, reminding me why I usually don't like Mecha shows in the first place. This could have easily been a 24 episode Season at least.

So l'll tell now itself than the anime is just a waste of time. The anime just represents a childhood fantasy and even though the MC is kind of OP, he acts in the shittiest way possible. I didn't see a lot of mecha animes, but this anime was good in the the first 4 to 5 episodes but after that I just skipped because to me it just comes under the category of "Kids" and story becomes just boring. So I finished this and after some months I continued code geass season 1 from where I left of and I completed it. This made me realize how fking cringe is this anime. I don't know wheatear its the story's or creator's fault , but you prefer more good fighting and good story like "code geass" or "that time I got reincarnated as a slime" or maybe "Death march, jujutsu kaisen and other stuffs", then this is not for you.

This is the worst anime I've ever seen so far - and I've seen quite few mediocre-to-bad ones, trust me. It offers only one thing - mech battles... and even this one thing is delivered very poorly. Let me break it why: - Mechs are visually unpleasant, maybe mediocre at best. While all work in this anime was put into making them aesthetically pleasing, it's a total fail. Those mechs are just a bunch of pointy, tangled, 3D animated masses of scrap and cables overlaid on top of flat background. Idea here was probably "the more holes and spikes on mech, the better!", which is a total fail. - Physics are absolutely not a thing in this universe. Basically, it doesn't matter what materials your mech is made with - if your resolution is stronger than your opponents and if you use more power, your metal will cut through their metal like through butter. - Mechs have control panels inside, which you use to steer them... But don't worry, they are just for shows. In reality, you control them by thought! Or, so we should think, as there's no other way you could have mech move like a real human with just *4 buttons* on control panel... Alright, Mech part (so main part) is a total fail in here. But what about other fields? Let's take a look: Story: Story in this anime basically doesn't exist. Yeah, it's basically typical mediocre isekai, but with all non-mech-battling story parts cut out. Who cares why or how did main character got reborn in the other world, do other people from "real world" are here... Typical "we are all friends and let's help each other" is here as well - you know, when main characters do something crazy break the laws or wants to do something that is absolutely opposite to what his supervisors want or is in their interest? Oh, you silly, of course he can do that and we will do all we can to help him! All because he is main cha.... *ekhem* because we like him! This world is blunt and exists just for the sake of main character to have his playground. It is not alive and all parts, that does not interact with main character, are just cut out. Och, also - almost all story is cut out and told by voiceover, because who cares about the details, let's jump into next fight, right?! But even those fights are bad. Those are not serious battles, it's more of a pre-school brawling, where everyone punch everyone until their mechs break. If ANY character would have at least 2-digit IQ they could win every fight in there by just thinking, using strategy and wisely using equipment and abilities they have... But thankfully, nobody has that high intelligence, so they can brawl in peace. Art: This is probably the strongest part of this anime. Art here is... mediocre. But it still pulls this "show" up quite a bit! Explosions and enemies are well saturated, magic circles are there as you could expect... It could be alright, if not for poorly animated, messy 3D mechs I described earlier. This art just... is there. You won't remember it, but it's not unpleasant to watch at least. Sound: As you could expect from typical random isekai - there is almost no sound whatsoever. Voices are blank and while not unpleasant, you probably wouldn't recognize any of them by voice. There is no music except for intro and outro. Other sounds are there, as expected - clangs of metal, explosions... They exist, but no more than necessary to not feel awkward; And finally, intro and outro itself - they are ok. Again, nothing to remember and still "skip every time" type of intro/outro, but those are somewhat alright songs. Character: Oh boy... let's make a checklist: - OP main character, who is a genius in young age and goes from 0 to hero really fast because he is main character? ✓ - Harem around main hero? ✓ (but slightly smaller, to cut out unnecessary non-mech parts) - All other characters are dumb, so slightly less dumb main character can look smart? ✓ - Grandpa-type ruler who likes main character from the first sight and is willing to sacrifice everything so MC gets what he wants? ✓ - Bad guys who are bad just for sake of being bad and MC having someone to fight, that are dumb but strong and in big numbers for more effective fights? ✓ And we could go like this forever... Yep! It's a poop. The only reason this anime gets 3/10 for characters for me is passion of MC and few antagonists towards mechs. It is visible and ONLY TIME I barely smiled during this show were moments where two of them were talking with passion. So, summing up - if you like mech fights, without caring about story, characters, music, physics or anything else - you might enjoy this show. Otherwise, this anime is just out there to show the bottom line of isekai and what NOT to do to make good show.

I'll try to keep this quick; I have no idea why I decided to watch Knights & Magic. It's below 7.5 (my usual score margin for shows), it's got mechs (which I tend to avoid), and it looked awful. Yet, I still decided to watch it. I wasn't wrong. Low and behold, Knights & Magic turned out to be complete garbage (though I still enjoyed it...somehow). The characters are copy & paste cutouts of stereotypes with no unique personality elements. You can tell how they will act for the entire series based on 5 minutes. The story was about as barebones and stereotypical as the characters. The only "story" this might beat is that of pornos, which isn't really an accomplishment. The sound is ok but nothing super interesting there. The art does deserve some credit but the overuse of CGI loses it some major points. Overall...this anime sucks. There is no real redeeming factor other than potential enjoyment.

This is a kid show..... 4 at best for a few reason. 1/ The characters are downright unbelievably generic and bad 2/ Suffers from lite novel isekai trope 3/ Fights are terribly animated and choreograph, and sometimes downright stupid 4/ The story is relatively stupid except one part. Synopsis: Genius programmer transfers and become some Jary Stue in another world to build robots and get girls along the way. Minor spoiler the most interesting aspect of this show is its highlight of the dangers of R&D and technological espionage. Aside from that, the most detailed artwork is focused on like 5 robots and the rest of the show looked more like bad CGI. The robot fights are bad due to janky, imprecise, over exaggerated movements. Furthermore our protagonist don't win fights "just because" and stuff is handle in a kiddie way, filled with plot holes. This show is likely for 10 years old or less.

A thread-bare plot overloaded with time-skips, characters who are barely characters at all and certainly free of development and an incomprehensible main character collide in this lovely, but otherwise hollow excuse for a program. Aside from some very nice art for the monsters, world and characters, some rather nice mechanical design, and some of the better CG mecha I've seen, 'Knight's & Magic' offers no reason to keep coming back week after week. While I acknowledge and admire the sheer passionate love for giant robots that does shine through the doldrums of the show, the absence of the grand stories of personal drama or world-threatening cataclysms that define the Mecha Genre are entirely absent. The result is... people playing with mechs for fun with zero stakes, like Build Fighters without any charm. A waste of time that will only be remembered at ALL if it manages to spawn some good model kits or action figures of the mechs someday.

This show is lowkirkenuinely kinda peak. The only main flaw with this show is the story which is kinda bland at points and sometimes confusing. There are some moments where a little more background information and explanation would help. But the show overall is still definitely worth watching. Personally, the best part of this show was the overall atmosphere. It's not your basic forest and plains with your big ass stone kingdom with markets everywhere. They actually took their time to make every scene look unique and memorable. The CGI was also very well done; it rarely felt clunky and was barely noticeable. The characters are alright... but some of the relationships sometimes feel forced, and I think some of them may have been forgotten halfway through 🤔. But these relationships (mainly the romantic ones) between these characters are so irrelevant and lackluster (except for one of the more major ones towards the end) that you will barely notice them and thus probably forget about them and not give a shit. Take that for what you will. Anyways, this show is pretty good, the first half is where it really shines, and the second half kinda drops in quality, but overall worth watching. minor rant: They got big ass robots and shit, but they still have wooden carriages for transportation. Like, there's no way that's their best tech for that??
