Keep in mind, this is based on an otome game. The story and characters are pulled from that. In the game, each army is designed by a different illustrator and you can sort of see that in the character design but the images in the game are BEAUTIFUL. The images in the anime...well, the animation really failed this one, even if I was entertained by the show. The first few episodes have horrible lighting issues but seem to even out a bit after about episode three. Sadly, overall the animation is poor. Characters are often distorted and what could have been epic fight scenes were mostly stills with shakey camera tricks or 80's style lasers for sword cuts. It was.....beyond bad. Also very disappointing. While I was watching I couldn't help but think about how better the animation could have been. Script wise I'm not sure this one knew what it wanted to be. Reverse harem or full on Sengoku story. It seemed to only have small moments of a reverse harem but the story of the fighting warlords was never fleshed out very well. I wish they would have decided what they wanted this anime to be because it could have been a fun time as a reverse harem or it could have been an excellent Sengoku piece with amazing fight scenes but it chose to do neither well at all. Again, I did enjoy watching it, but it had so much wasted potential.

I already have a bias because I despise passive, weak main characters. But, Yuzuki goes far beyond passive and weak. She's utterly useless. Honestly she's like a little toddler wondering around, although toddler's probably remember that you shouldn't just willingly follow any and everyone that tells you to so basically she's below that. He lines are a drag and her personality is as flat as there comes. What a boring show and complete and utter waste of my time. Honestly even if you're bored out of your mind there's a million other things I'd recommend doing rather than watching this disgrace of a show.

This is a very mediocre anime Its not good but not a total flop well to me at least. there were moments where they tried to involve you into the story, the setting, the somewhat "epic" battlefield between the warlords and well zombie-like monsters but the way they presented it was really boring. None of the characters were really memorable at all, heck even after forcing myself through the anime i can barely remember 1 or 2 characters and the only reason i can remember the mc's name is because they wouldn't shut up about her. Sure i get that she is the mc and all but she took up so much screen time that the other boys barely have any character development at all, even when they do get their screen time, most of it felt boring. Another thing is that everytime the mc take the stage, she is either playing that same old innocent virgin-like nice girl role or being the damsel in distress making her more like a liability rather than someone you would love and want to protect. What really killed it for me is that once again another animal sidekick is considered useless

The only thing I *kind of* liked about this anime is the opening theme song and possibly some of the voice actors (i dont blame the seiyus for their awful lines). That's it. The rest are all poorly, if not dreadfully executed. I stick with the series because of the Sengoku theme but there have been a few times that I wanted to just drop this show altogether as it was ultimately lazy and boring so to speak. As usual it starts with the reverse harem theme: Ordinary girl gets transported to another world where its mostly dominated by guys and they all swoon over her for no reason. As a reverse harem fan like me, I don't mind if the heroine is a little useless, annoying as they seem, I usually give them the benefit of the doubt and wait till they reveal their redeeming qualities that makes them a little bit likable. Yuzuki (MC) on the other hand is way too useless, even her lines are so lazy and it just made the show so bland its aggravating. There was no utter motive why everyone likes her. She says one useless thing then bam! instant like from a warlord! lol The plot started with everyone fighting for unification then a girl comes along with her special blood but no one even dares to drink it just because... (I've heard in the game they actually do). Out of the blue some evil spirits (yakuma) enters the scene because they are after her blood too and it wasnt explained why. So in the end everyone decided to set their differences and fight together for her sake. No plot twists whatsoever. It feels like its just a show for the sake of hyper commercialism on the game.. Like "you wanted more? Play the game!" sort of thing. So no, I do not recommend this anime. I do not like how Toyotomi Hideyoshi looks in this show either... what's up with the get up?! Over all I rated this a 3. Tbh It's not even a good show to pass the time. Rather it puts you to sleep.

I wasn't sure what to think of this series going through it, definitely has a reverse harem feel to it, and probably more for those that like twilight or such. Story: very forgettable, you have the main char a woman trapped in a alternative time period when Oda Nobunaga was conquering, and it just...doesn't seem to go anywhere, there are zombie like things that attack, but they are barley addressed till the end, Most of the series is just the main char tossed from one army to the next as everyone falls in love with her and she's treated as property. Art: it's passable, don't really remember much memorable, the action seems are mostly forgettable other then a few okay moments at the end. Characters: Not much here, you have werewolves, vampires and such, but mostly in name only, most of the time they don't really act that way, and again everyone wants the main char so very little development. Enjoyment and overall: I didn't really enjoy it that much, you might if your into twilight and such, but even then it felt shallow, I kept waiting for more action to happen as there is a setup for it, but it never seemed to develope.

This story has a lot of potentials, but they tried to keep the MC in a neutral route leading to the love interest to be pretty much all over the place and unclear. I believe if they would have stuck to one route it would have been way better. That said I understand it was based on a visual novel, and keeping to this route show's a little of everything it has to offer. However, because of this choice, the storyline took quite a hit. All in all, I still enjoyed the show. some situation are a bit unclear but you can easily catch on afterward. I also noticed that in the last two episodes we had quite the recap which i didn't truly need when binge-watching.

I watched Sengoku Night Blood. Here are my thoughts: This is first and foremost a reverse-harem show (it's an otome-game adaptation). If that doesn't appeal to you then you shouldn't watch this. If you don't want to be surrounded by hot vampire werewolf warrior men in a historical Japan setting, then this is not the anime for you. Unfortunately I think the premise of this show is not used to its full potential; the supernatural elements of the story aren't really explored at all, even though they are what makes the show most unique – definitely a missed opportunity there. Instead, much of the dialogue revolves around the military conflicts between various factions, which sounds like it might be interesting but the execution is underwhelming. I found the story difficult to follow; a ton of random names (well, many characters are named after historical figures like Nobunaga) are thrown at the viewer from early in the show, and it's difficult to digest it all and keep track of the lore, plus the viewer is never given a reason to care in the first place. I often felt like this anime was designed with the expectation that the viewer already had background knowledge of the lore and characters, which I guess isn't surprising for a niche otome-game adaptation. The story (and its execution) is a weak point of this anime, at least from my uninformed perspective. I often felt confused by the events taking place. This issue is compounded even further by the enormous size of the supporting cast – there are dozens of warriors who interact with the MC throughout the show, and keeping track of all of them and their relevance to the plot is not a simple task. Anybody who intends to watch this should assume that they won't be able to fully comprehend the story if they're otherwise unacquainted with the franchise, particularly during the first half of the anime. Comprehension issues aside, I found the overall writing totally unengaging and dull; I was never interested in the story at all, aside from the romantic context it provided. Additionally, most of the characters feel underdeveloped and tropey. Although the enormous cast size is certainly one factor in this, even the MC herself is lacking in personality, beyond being shy and useless. At times, I thought the character interaction in this was done well – particularly for the MC and her chemistry with the rest of the cast. Although a little cliche at times, this show shines during the many little moments of interaction between the MC and her male companions. It doesn't rush things either, and seemingly mundane scenes are frequently stretched out to savour these special little moments. As amateurish as this anime feels in other ways, the character interaction is sometimes surprisingly well done. A major component of this is the script: although the scriptwriting is a little crude sometimes, there are also scenes where it feels quite intimate (when the characters aren't loredumping random information). There are some really romantic scenes lurking in here that made watching this anime worthwhile. I'm pretty sure it was an unwritten rule that the MC needed to be princess-carried at least once per episode, haha. The character designs for some of the men were a little too animal-ish for my tastes. The big wolf ears and big mane-like hair on some characters was a little too much for me. I'm sure other people like that kind of thing though. I found the vampire guys hotter than the werewolf guys. I also found some of the designs a little too bishounen-ish for me and wished a lot of them were more masculine, especially since they're supposed to be fighters. Somewhat conversely, I disliked the mullet-like hairstyle of the female MC. Like OMG honey you need some conditioner. She looks like she should be a greasy rockstar from the 80s, and I don't mean that in a flattering way. She also only wears one boring outfit the entire time, which was disappointing. If those guys (read: animation staff) really treasured her they would get her some nice pretty clothes! Historical shows are often a good opportunity to exhibit unique outfits, and the outfits in this are fairly detailed, but some are pretty gaudy and aren't always aesthetically pleasing despite the effort put in to animate them. A lot of the outfits are 'overdesigned' so to speak. One small detail I appreciated was how they would include sounds for the sword scabbards shuffling around on the characters' hips. So for example, when somebody would sit down on a wooden floor you could hear the sound of heavy sheathed blades against the wood. Although the animation quality is nothing special, the lighting effects in this, both indoors and outdoors, are often done pretty well and can enhance the romantic feeling of a scene. This show kind of feels like it's a decade older than its actual production year, in terms of visuals as well as the premise, story, and even the soundtrack. True to its title though, the night sky of this anime always looks good. The voice acting for pretty much the entire cast is mediocre, including the MC. The OST is also nothing special. The comedy in this is applied very lightly and is not particularly intrusive or frequent – I am grateful for this. The show takes place during some kind of military conflict/stalemate and the tone most of the time is serious. In terms of sexualization, it's not over the top and usually not graphic; a lot of it is subtext related to the supernatural warriors wanting to drink the blood of the MC (which is very erotic to be honest). The warrior men get power by sucking the blood of the female MC – to be candid I found this psychologically super hot and it's one of the main reasons I stuck with the show. In all seriousness, it's a very good idea for a plot mechanism in a supernatural romance story. The MC being a pivotal tool in warfare as well as sexually attractive is hot on like an abstract meta level. My personal overall rating: 5/10 As much as I like the premise of this show, its execution is mediocre in most ways. Its best feature is the character interaction between the MC and the warriors. What kept me watching were all those little sweet moments between the MC and her adoring warrior companions. Sengoku Night Blood has some uniquely romantic scenes, but you need to tolerate a confusing storyline to get to them. Hanakanaru Hachiyou Shou has a very similar premise to this anime but does it better; I would recommend you watch that before trying this if a historical reverse harem is what you're looking for. I suppose Akatsuki no Yona would fulfill that criteria as well. I wouldn't suggest watching Sengoku Night Blood unless you've already exhausted the better implementations of the reverse-harem feudal-Asia template.
