ReLIFE: Final Arc

"It's one of those shows that you just don't want them to end T.T". Probably the best show I've watched this year. I wasn't expecting it to be this good but, god damn it's beautiful. Perfect way to end the series too. The animation is great, voice acting as well, but what strikes in this show I would say is pretty much the character development. I thought the season 2 of this would be at least 12 eps or 8 but nevertheless we at least got a sequel to this god tier anime. It may be 4 eps but god damn it hits you with the feels. The music and soundtracks used in every moment is perfect and nothing special is to say about the art style quite normal tbh. The main reason why i love both season 1 and season 2 of this anime is the character development through the series and how every action Arata Kaizaki Takes makes an impact within the high schoolers lives they may forget him but still the impact is still there.Personally I would recommend this anime to all of those who enjoy Slice of life/Romance anime 'cause its way up their in those genres.

I’m so thankful for Sou Yayoi for those amazing few years that I had to indulge in ReLIFE; the manga and anime were fantastic. The Special may have been four episodes but it did a phenomenal job giving us the main parts that led to ReLIFE’s conclusion and I’m thankful for that. All the ingredients that made ReLIFE into an amazing manga were still portrayed in the Special and I highly recommend it to anyone that loved RELIFE. The story did not sway at all from the manga, sure it was four episodes but it covered that was needed to be covered and didn’t felt dragged. I will admit that when I first started watching the Special I felt as if it were a little rushed due to how fast paced it felt, but at the same time, I’m glad it didn’t show everything because not every chapter was needed. Visually it was still as beautiful as it was when it first was released. The enticing artwork does it’s best to have the viewers enamored with the series. Visually nothing changed dramatically but you can see the detail shown in episode sixteen and just the amount of detail you see in the background is well formed and refreshing. Masayasu Tzboguchi playful jazz was brought back into this season having us reminisce about season one’s colorful OST. The ending songs were placed in perfectly, yes different musicians for a majority of the endings besides episode thirteen and seventeen which were both composed by Penguin Research. With character development, the special primarily focus of Arata Kaizaki and Hishiro Chizuru, high lighting the last four pillars that are needed for the audience to see before they close ReLIFE. To say I enjoyed this wouldn’t be enough, I wish I could have seen more or possibly they can have a new protagonist for a further series installment. I highly recommend this to be viewed and if you have not I highly advise you to read the manga if you wish for more detail.

While ReLife was one of my favorite animes from 2016, the OVA unfortunately didn't live up to that promise. With that said, I quite liked the way that the series was tied up. Lets get down into the nitty gritty of what worked and what didn't. Lets start with the obvious. 4 episodes could not possibly hope to cover all the source material left after the first season, and therefore a lot of things had to be cut. While I have not read all of the manga, I did read enough to get a sense of just what was cut and what wasn't. While I think the studio did a good job of ending the story, it still felt rushed. It also suffered from a low budget, which most notably shows in that every character which is not central to the story is only a colorful shadowy outline. There were also several montage scenes with stills narrated by one of the characters which, while certainly appropriate sometimes, felt more like the result of these budget restrictions. Even though the OVA had these restrictions, it still managed to finish the story in a way that didn't make me feel as if I'd swallowed something bitter. By focusing all the energy on the main pairing of Kaizaki and Hishiro, the studio managed successfully to close that storyline in a satisfying way. This did lead to the loss of some of the soul of the original anime, as the playful cheery and fully realized characterizations of the original was missing in the OVA. This is understandable, but regrettable and it lowers the overall quality of the show. While the mumbo jumbo surrounding the science of the ReLife experiment was never convincing, the OVA forgoes any tries at explaining how it works. This is not a bad thing, as any explanation would have put more focus on how incredibly unrealistic the whole setting is. And lets face it, the reason that people watch this show isn't because of those elements, but to see the main characters grow and bond with each other. And while the show as a whole is not nearly as good as the original, I was still left with a sense of satisfaction when it was over. And perhaps a wistful longing for a more developed second season which could have truly done ReLife justice. On the other hand, I'm glad that I got to say a proper goodbye to the characters of the show. For all its faults, ReLife: Kanketsu-hen left me with a warm heart and a happy smile.

Will make this short. As someone who hasn't read the manga, honestly, this Final Arc wasn't too bad. I liked it quite a bit, even if it did seem fast-paced. The attention was, thank god, shifted to Kaizaki and Hishiro instead of the rubbish from the first season. Maybe if this was longer it would have made for a better watch. But I am not one to fuss about something like this. I am no diehard fan so this was fine. You can expect technical aspects like art to stay constant too. I enjoyed this a lot more than the season before, mainly because of how sweet it was. 7/10. Was good, really was, but not the best but several miles.

This review is sum up of the complete relife series. As the name suggests, first i thought that it will be a normal high school anime where a shut in neet goes back to high school but never judge a book by its cover. Its a very enjoying and amazing anime which will take you from the dark nature of the coorparate society to a colorful youth filled with enjoyment, friendships and love. This anime will show the importance of living every moment to the fullest. "There's something a little sad about fireworks. As they fade, you feel sort of lonely but the memories...."

A heartwarming end to a fantastic series; what more could we have asked for? A lot of you who end up reading this review will probably have already watched the original 13-episode run of ReLIFE and understand the plot and characters. Our main protagonist, Arata Kaizaki, was a 27-year-old who had nothing going for him, until he was made an offer by a mysterious company called ReLife; consume a pill that will make him appear 10 years younger and be sent back to high school. Live out a year of high school and try to make positive changes in your life; the friends you make won't remember you when the experiment ends, but Kaizaki will remember everything. That premise laid the groundwork for one of the most heartwarming and enjoyable anime I've watched in a good while. Kaizaki tries not to repeat the mistakes he made as an adult and form real relationships with his peers, but he always has that thought in the back of his head; none of these people will remember me. At times the show makes use of that knowledge to tug on your heartstrings, but I promise you it's all well worth it in the end. The show is still gorgeous; solid animation and well-detailed character models. That hasn't changed since the first season and it didn't need to. I can't say much without spoiling some key events of the previous season, because while most of you will have watched it there's the chance that some oddballs will read this review without knowing anything about the previous season. I'll say this, though; Kaizaki's story, as well as the story of someone else in our cast, ends on an extremely heartwarming note. It didn't make me want to cry, instead I cheered with a huge smile on my face. I'm not exaggerating when I say that this series ends perfectly.

well, ReLife is done and it ended off in a good note. I was happy how they ended it and that, also how they are going to do a ReLife with I think Kazuomi brother, I didn't get a good glimpse of him but oh well. I want this to continue as they made an amazing anime out if this and everything still stands from part one of the review on the main anime. this definitely has a lot of rewatching potential. I really enjoyed it a lot and I kinda wanna know what happens after the end of the anime. 12/21/2018

It's Graduation and you know what that means... Spoilers Ahead... ReLIFE: Kanketsu-hen is the final arc to ReLIFE. Though these four episodes shows Arata Kaizaki and Chizuru Hishiro graduating this also spells the end of their ReLIFE and just as their romance was blossoming, ReLIFE's "policy" of each test subject's memories of their year in ReLIFE is wiped and both Chizuru and Arata being test subjects....yeah. ReLIFE: Kanketsu-hen's only flaw LA will note is that the last few events of Arata's ReLIFE school life is a bit rushed, rushing from the school cultural festival as well as graduation itself. Look LA gets it only had 4 more episodes to finally conclude it's story but if anything LA think it needed at least 4 more. This rushing also gets the early blossoming of Arata and Hishiro's romance BUT the only defense LA gets to this is that they only start dating near the end of ReLIFE and graduation thus their few moments that the romance goes on "might" feel rushed but it's expected and to be honest the original season did help their dynamic in the first place and solidify the blossoming romance in the first place....yes LA quite obviously ships Chizuru and Arata. Basically due to the deadline of both Chizuru and Arata's ReLIFE and both of them not realizing they are in the same experiment together they are none the wiser until it's too late (also leading to LOTS of double meaning conversations between the two). Their romance if anything is what happens when you lose something you hold dear, you want it even more and that's Chizuru and Arata's romance in a nutshell for ReLIFE: Kanketsu-hen. ReLIFE: Kanketsu-hen is essentially focusing on Chizuru and Arata all the way, makes sense due to most of the cast having developed from the original season thus makes sense to focus on our main protagonists and yes that means anyone besides An Onoya and Ryou Yoake though they get a bit of development naturally due to them being close to the main protagonists and their worries of the end of their ReLIFE's, everyone else are put to the sidelines though they have some decent screentime with some small developments here and there but nothing too drastic, mainly romantic (Kariu and Oga being most prominent). In terms of animation, once again done by TMS Entertainment, they have the same animation quality as their original season of ReLIFE so there isn't really much to add, however on the voice acting side, LA will give some major props once again to Ai Kayano as Chizuru (of course, LA's favorite character) BUT LA will also mention Reina Ueda as Onoya as much as she shows her genki side, Reina shows off her dramatic side and damn was it effective!. But nonetheless a great cast as LA mentioned in LA's original season review of ReLIFE from Yuuma Uchida to Ryohei Kimura and Haruka Tomatsu. ReLIFE: Kanketsu-hen may only be four episodes but showing off the conclusion as rushed as it did...LA was still satisfied even with how they executed the final moments if for a bit of satisfying levity. Sure the final episode and what happens in it is contrived (especially the final moments) but for romance sakes...LA SAYS YES due to LA's shipping glasses, but plot wise, it just made sense to end it like it did and for once in an anime "finishes" the story...as rushed as it was but nonetheless. LA was satisfied by ReLIFE: Kanketsu-hen and then some, be it rushed and all but damn was LA satisfied. LA's experience towards ReLIFE as a whole felt like LA saw a solid performance of an ice skater but near the end of her performance she makes one small rushed spin and "nearly" falls but finishes nonetheless, overall the performance gets a high grade even that one little rushed mistake.

I think the way it ended was a complete waste of time, considering they made it end completely differently than the Manha. except for that and missing a bunch of stuff like the solitude Phase etc. Otherwise, it's a good Show. i recommend watching the first Season if you haven't heard of this Show ever. or you're just here from the Manha. The Story was well built, Manha and Anime wise, it's a very good Show. The Art was beautifully beautiful. I thought it was mesmerizing. The Sound was probably about the music and the voices, which made me very happy. The Character arcs were amazing. They left out some of the Arcs but otherwise perfect. I had fun watching this, but also felt upset at the ending. i give it an Overall of 8. Story: 9/10 Art: 10/10 Sound: 8/10 Character: 10/10 Enjoyment: 7/10

I enjoyed this anime more than I thought I would. When I first heard about a sequel to the first season, I was overjoyed because I enjoyed ReLife so much, but eventually finding out that it would be shorter than an average season length, 4 episodes to be exact, I was kind of worried how they would adapt so many chapters into very few episodes. They're obviously going to cut a lot of context and major arcs, and rewrite some of the story and that could mean for better or worse, more on the latter. However, after finally getting able to watch this in one sitting, I'm glad I was wrong about it being a colossal mishap. The main issue here is that people are judging it based on what it could've been, and not what it is now. It's understandable to get disappointed at how the adaptation would be worse than the manga from the get-go, but it really wasn't as bad as I thought it was. I mean, most adaptations are worse than the manga anyway, there's only a few exceptions like Death Note and Code Geass. That being said, if you have read the manga and are planning to watch this, then clear your mind. Enjoy it as an individual anime, as a sequel to the first season, and don't look at it as an adaptation. With this mindset, you'll be able to enjoy these 4 episodes for what it is. The characters are still like what they were with some character developments, and there's still the same humor that made me love the prequel. The ending also gives you a sense of satisfaction, and it really ties the story up nicely (although reading the manga can give you what happens next). Of course, I'm not going to just tolerate the way they dealt with the execution of the anime so I deducted some points off, but it still managed to make me feel the same enjoyment I felt when I watched the previous season. For better or worse, I didn't think of this as an insult to the source material this was adapted from. It was decent enough and while the people who worked on this did some questionable things, I still thought it was good enough to warrant a watch, and there is still some enjoyment to be had from this experience. With a low budget, I thought the director/creators/animators would give me something that I thought would've been mediocre. They proved me wrong. And I have to thank them for it.

9/10 This anime has such a great story and some part of it are relatable to other's. I wish some part of the manga was put in there so that they cannot be put in a last 4 episode anime.Because somebody like me need to have a long story to enjoyment till the end. Still, the Anime is satisfying, but really, that still need a long episodes of it. Because the story is such greatness of it. Some of the reviewer's disliked it because they said that they're not relatable to them, but why do you still watch until the end if it's not relatable to you!! What are you? Mr. Guy Who Doesn't relate to the anime but still watches it?! You're one kind of a guy who exists in that way..... I don't think this anime isn't gonna continue because I just knew that the end is still good that it's really obvious to the viewers....but still, I, or we will remember this anime till the end of our lives.REALLY LOVE THIS!!!! Love this anime, love the creator , LOVE IT!!!!!!

I feel the anime is rushed and missing 40% of the story in the manga. 1. they missed the interaction between Hishiro and a group of boys when the school festival came in. 2. not only that, they missed a Oga and Kariu development about his brother problems. it's the literal drama in this whole story. 3. They miss a lot of development chance for the characters. their background, and their own story. I feel a bit sad because they didn't input the Oga brother Arc. it is literally the best development story for a support character. overall it's 8 because of their awesome ending execution.

To start things off, I wanted to say that I created an account just to write a review about this anime because that's just how much I love this series as a whole and want other people to know more about it. Consequently, I will review this OVA adaptation very critically. (Please note that there will be certain parts of this review that might have some spoilers but I'll try my best to not say too many of them) Story: 7 Story-wise, I believe that the author did an amazing job with how the story went and created something very unique in my eyes as I do not see many other stories that are similar to this. While there are a lot of anime which includes the following genres: Isekai, Harem, Ecchi, Action, and Romance, I found this series to be an amazing "checkpoint" or even something close to the epitome of what I've searched for in an anime for a long time. Although I would've rated this story to be higher, many important events that happened in the manga which made ReLIFE what it is was not included in this which made me really sad; however, I understand that this is just an OVA. After watching the first season and reading the manga, it really made me nervous as there are high chances that there might not be a sequel to it due to how little people noticed it in the past. So, I'm already really grateful that there's at least a 4-episode OVA adaptation for it. Art: 5 Sticking to similar art styles to the manga, I believe that the producers of the adaptation did a good job as they stayed very loyal to the manga's art style. However, I do think that it could improve slightly. For example, making things smoother and putting more of the budget to amplify the most important scenes adapted into the anime. Overall, I thought the art to be mediocre at most. Sound: 6 Personally, I really enjoyed the opening music and liked how they went with the op from the previous season which made it quite nostalgic. However, the ending in episode 3 couldn't have been worse as it ruined the entire mood of the build-up which stabbed me quite deeply in my heart (I did find it quite amusing thought XD). Character: 8 As you can probably tell by now, I'm absolutely in love with each and every character in this series as each of them had their very own story to them. For example, Chihiro and Kaizaki's character was completely changed compared to how they acted at the beginning of the series. Chihiro's character development, especially, created tears under my eyes. However, most of the parts of the manga that made me love them were, unfortunately, not included in the adaptation. Enjoyment: 6 While I absolutely loved the series, I found myself a bit disappointed as they removed many of the things that made me love it as I've said previously. If they had properly adapted the manga series and not just created an OVA, trying to pack 150+ chapters into the four episodes, things would've probably been much different from how rushed it was in this OVA. Overall: 6 I found myself to be pissed, sad, and happy at the same time. As someone who has been reading the manga since its first volume was released, I was very disappointed by how many important scenes were not included/skimmed by in the adaptation. While there a ton of my favorites scenes not included, there was one event that happened in the series which made me cry the most but wasn't included in the adaptation which made me furious was... SPOILER: The one scene that I despised the producer for not including was definitely the holiday trip planned by Chihiro and Kaizaki for their groups of friends. I found myself sad as it reminded me that the series ended again. However, I was also brimming with joy as the ending was what I wanted to happen since Chapter 1 of the manga. To conclude this review, I once again would like to say that I love this series and will definitely not enjoy something as much as this for quite a while. I would also highly recommend reading the manga starting from around Chapter 100 if you finished the first season as it left the anime hanging there. The manga will also make you create rivers in your room more than it did in the anime as my room has already been flooded with my tears after reading the last several chapters.

I'm not one for extended reviews, so I'll keep this brief. If you're someone who read the manga from beginning to end, you might be happy that we get more ReLife, but like me, hated how rushed it was. The last episode especially skips out on a lot of buildup and major aspects of the last 6 chapters of the manga. However, if you're someone who has yet to read the manga, then you won't be bothered by anything here. ReLife was the first show that I read the source material for after season 1 aired, so I caught a lot of the things missing. And while it annoyed me that some stuff was removed, the impact of the story was still there. If you enjoyed this OVA, I highly recommend you read the manga. Final score: 9/10

ReLIFE: OVA is the perfect conclusion to an amazing series! I'm still reeling from the emotional impact of this final arc. I mean, I've grown so attached to these characters, and to see them overcome their struggles and find their way... it's just incredibly satisfying. Arata's journey from a lost adult to a confident high school student is genuinely inspiring. And the supporting cast? I've fallen in love with them! Chizuru, Rena, Taira... they're all so uniquely lovable and relatable. I appreciate how the series delves into their backstories and motivations - it adds such depth and nuance to the story. My only wish is for more! A season 2 would be a dream come true. I'm eager to see further character development, more relationships explored, and additional struggles overcome. The animation, music, and writing all blend together to create a heartwarming, engaging story that will linger with me for a long time.

The specials took everything that was good about the first season and removed everything that wasn’t. Although rushed, it manages to condense the emotional meat and bones into a tight, well written love arc. With a foundation of likeable characters and a season 1 that was already building their relationship, the show manages to completely ditch Kariu and Oga, which is a great relief. Aside from a decent ending, Kariu’s arc in season 1 was a pain to get through, filled with anime cliches and contrived conflicts. I do think Oga is a good character tho, and Kariu isn’t bad after the arc ends. Instead, the specials focus on the relationship between Kaizaki and Hishiro. Kaizaki continues to be a likeable character, whose maturity and sociability make him easy to root for. Meanwhile, Hishiro finally becomes a real character (S1 Hishiro starting out as the generic emotionless girl every high school anime needs to have), showing some actual life experience and social ability. Not as an extrovert, but something akin to those introverts who still manage to gather a collection of close friends. Highlighting this is an earnest effort to make real connections which makes it hard not to root for Hishiro. With this foundation, a romance that feels as much fuelled by their similar pre-ReLIFE experience and the interactions we see between them throughout the show becomes the main focus. Generic high school anime tropes (omg look all the girls are dressed up as maids for the festival) are still present, but for once the show is fast enough that it never really annoyed me enough to take me out of the experience. Instead, the display of Hishiro’s effort on planning a christmas date, Kaizaki pacing around a table as he waits for a text to show up, and phone calls out of a desire to hear each others voice works so much better with the looming end of the ReLIFE. The blending of the giddy feeling of falling in love with the certainty that this will be over makes these scenes hit so much harder, makes each interaction feel so much more emotional. It really squeezes a lot out of this in 4 episodes. The writing isn’t perfect - there are a few things that feel weird (such as Kaizaki immediately taking back his confession and saying it was super out of the blue when the girl he’s with explicitly asked him on a date), and anime tropes are still everywhere. The writing is rushed, leaving the relationship feeling somewhat shallow, lacking all the small stuff that makes romance really work. I couldn’t help but wonder a few times exactly what it was that these two were actually talking about during their phone calls (as these scenes generally only show them talking while replacing dialogue with music) Still, with the two focuses being actual adults, the writing overall manages to reflect that and bring a relationship that feels a little more mature, a little more realistic and a little more immersive - contrast it to Oga and Kariu where the entire time i was vividly aware that this was a high school anime romance with the dumbest conflicts someone could think up. Non sequitur, I love the music for this show. I wouldn’t listen to it outside of the show, but it works super well in both the first season and these specials, with its choppy piano being able to convey a wider variety of emotions than the more widespread slice of life soundtracks. It really benefits the show a lot. Overall, it was fun to watch

A very enjoyable story, but the whole time I could not get over the whole wiping memories thing, it doesn't make sense and even if it did in the context of the story, there is so many legal and potential moral issues with it, at the end of the day I have to accept it is just a story and as such they are likely going to be plotholes and that is just one of them that really stand out to me, as a very logical person. It would have been good to explore the relife organization more and even more into why Hishiro did a 2nd year of relife, i mean yes her first year was not a success, but it also feels weird that she got a 2nd chance, perhaps a rewatch will allow me to fully watch her character from the start again to see how she acted from the start and if I ever notice her support figure, before the audience is told who the 1st person was.

An amazing ending to ReLIFE. (spoiler free) Story - 10 The creators did not have the budget to animate the roughly 110 chapters left after the first season. This means that about 110 chapters were adapted in the first 13 episodes, so every event was included, while multiple events are skipped in the second half. But they did an excellent job piecing together the most important events for this 4 episode finale. As others mentioned, the ending was a little quick, but I personally really liked this. Everything is tied up nicely. There are only two chapters after the anime ending, but it still feels complete without them. Art - 10 I love the art style of the anime. Simple, bright, and crisp as in the first season. Yes, some background characters are blue/pink blobs, however I didn’t find this to be an issue and frankly didn’t notice much until I saw it pointed out by other viewers. Sound - 10 The music was as enjoyable as always. It’s the same opening as season 1, which is fine for me because I think that opening is amazing. The soundtrack is also the exact same. Music is still placed well. Characters - 10 It’s the same characters I’ve always loved from episode 1... I still love them. In fact, I started to love some of them even more. Though some characters didn’t get as much backstory and don’t show up much at all with any conflict of their own, this was definitely the best choice, as these four episodes needed to focus more on the ending of the experiment. Rest assured, you will still see all of the cast though. I think that seeing the experiment through to the end for our main character was a really valuable experience from these episodes. Character development and the result of it shines. Enjoyment - 10 This was beautiful to watch. Never a dull second. Similar to the first season, it is a good blend of comedy and romance. Things get a bit more serious once the experiment is about to end, but it didn’t feel unnatural for the show to take this route. Overall - 10 An outstanding ending to a masterpiece of an anime. If you watched ReLIFE, you definitely have to watch these final four episodes. You won’t regret it! (And then, read the manga!)

Yeah, this can be called as a continuation of relife season 1, but can't be called as relife season 2. This adaptation has proved that is impossible to adapt 120 manga chapters in just 4 episodes. The major events of the history are present, but they are rushed af and the motivations of the characters aren't explained, making them do things randomly. The anguish and fears of Arata and Chizuru of be forgotten by everyone are not explored in this 4 episodes (because of time obviously) and they are the main things that ReLife wants to show us, the development of two people that in the beginning don't want to create bonds whit others, but in the final they don't want to lose those bonds. If ou really liked the first season and want the full experience: read the manga. The story is a little different and more complete than this sequel. If you just want to know what happens in the finale, watching this special will save you some time.
