I wanted to find an anime that was equally as cute as School Babysitters and I lowkey think I've found something so much cuter. Miira no Kaikata did not disappoint. Within the first few minutes of the first episode, I knew I'd like it. The MC for one is super easy to like. He's average in many ways, but I enjoy have a "normal" MC. He was open about his thoughts, aside from when it concerned his best friend, was observant, patient and funny. He was well put together and a stable narrative throughout, which I appreciated a lot to balance out everything else in the anime. The other characters are fine. Tazuki is probably my favourite, with Sora not far behind. Tazuki is your typical tsundere, except he's quite protective of Sora which I love. And he's done in the right way. Although the others have a lot of air time, I don't see the point in mentioning them, they're likable, that's all that matters. Okay, the story was surprisingly smooth sailing. I know it was only 12 episodes, but I thought I'd eventually get bored of an unproblematic plot, but nope. Just like School Babysitters, the cuteness carried it. Each episode there was something to look forward to, whether it was the creatures or a new character to be introduced. And saved best for last, is all the little creatures that each character has. Mii especially is adorable, my GOD. I didn't think a creature that wouldn't be able to do anything but bark could be that cute, but I was wrong. I love the relationship between him and Sora. Then Conny and Tazuki have the funniest relationship. They even have their own little character development which was super heartwarming. Everyone else and their creatures are essentially made for each other, they had so much screen time I couldn't help but enjoy every single episode. All the creatures have their own distinct personalities. They're adorable. Had interesting relationships with each other, both the other creatures and their owners. AHHH just so cute. I enjoyed every episode and wish there was more. There's nothing like being able to watch a show all relaxed. No crazy plot, no complicated characters. You grow to love everyone as more episodes go by and by the end of it, you wish there was more. I hope I can find another anime that sits on the same level as Miira no Kaikata and School Babysitters. These lowkey chill, comfort animes have my heart. Easy 8/10.

Miira no Kaikata is one of SOL genre anime that seems appealing and makes it self unique from other SOL though the idea of SOL anime is just basically a slice of life from the character in the anime. However the composition in this anime is interesting. Where there are superstitious creature but it is portrayed as a very cute lovable character, a mini mummy, a mini oni, a small baby dragon, and a fluffy baku. Okay here I go with the review, (Some spoilers ahead) Story: 7 I would say the story was well oriented, where like 3 of the episode are dedicates to the 3 supporting characters where as well it was introduced a new creature as well. Such as Tazuki and oni, Motegi and Isao, and Daichi and Mukumuku. However I think part of the story aren't really interesting well I mean it is a SOL genre anime, but it just seems was not enough. But i do find some of the backstory interesting and heart warming. The ending of this anime was quite boring.. Unfortunately for me, I kind of expected a one of those cliche ending where they gathered together and cut scene it in there. But it ended with a scene of Mii Kun and Sora doing chores. Well in conclusion, It is I guess a well decent story not too good nor too bad, it was just good. Art: 8 The art of this anime is great and is consistent, it has this light touch to the anime where it brings out its heart warming animation to the viewer. The character design are wholesome as well such as Mii Kun and the others. Some of the scenery are well drawn and portrayed that seems appealing. I can't say much with the art but the point is that in my opinion it has a very good animation in relate to the genre SOL. Sound: 7.5 I'll be scoring the sound based on the OST such as OP ED and the BGM from some of the scene in the anime, as well as the seiyuus for the character. Overall I really like the choice of the seiyuu and fits each character well and gives each characteristic for each character. And the cute sound for the superstitious creatur sound are just soo adorable especially Mii Kun, I mean even if its just a small cute tiny bark it makes Mii Kun looks and sound 100x cuter and loveable! The OP and ED are nice, light hearted kind of catchy but I wouldn't say it's soo good or so. However the OST for the BGM for some of the scene in the anime complies the scene very well and makes some of the scene touching, joyful, etc. Character: 8 The characters are the one who made me interested in watching. There aren't much character development that seems appealing, however I think what makes this anime stands out with its character, it is obviously the cute behavior of this ancient legend superstitious creature that are portrayed as so cute and loveable. Where each of the main 4 creature has its own unique appealing behavior. Sora, Tazuki, Motegi, and Daichi are also well portrayed character, however I paid more attention to Mii Kun, haha. Enjoyment: 8 I'll just keep it short, of course I enjoyed watching this anime very much. It just feels that this anime lighten up my burden, my mood. Just to take a brief moment to just relax and enjoy this cuteness. You just can't go wrong watching this anime in context of enjoying it, of course you'll enjoy watching it. As well it gives you small giggles and joy while watching this since how cute, wholesome, and adorable they are. Dakara, this anime got 8/10, thanks to Mii Kun for bringing laughter and joy. And I think I used the word cute too many time lol, tho it is a very cute anime

OVERALL: 7/10. This anime is a light-hearted, fun watch. I enjoyed it, but it does leave me wanting more out of it. ENJOYMENT:8/10. Honestly, it's still a fun anime to watch, I kept playing episode after episode one after the other wanting more. Even with all the critiques, its fun and I'd recommend giving it a watch. STORY: 7/10. The story is cute. It's not deep or dark, just a few teens becoming friends because of their shared experiences. There barely is a story. ART:6/10. The art is fine, but not too outstanding. The setting and animation are both okay. The "special" characters also don't look too crazy. Not bad, just normal. The art style is the type you would learn to draw in an anime 101 class. SOUND:7/10. The "supernatural" characters are mute, accompanied by sound-effects for every action. It's funny at times, and dull at other times. Otherwise, the sound is completely average. CHARACTER: 7/10. I really liked the main character. Sora's attitude towards all what's going on is positive and encouraging. The others were fine, but didn't stand out to me all that much. Mii is the best and the cutest and you can fight me on that.

More often than not, violence, lewd and comparable stuff is the selling point of most of Anime out there, I mean, why would you watch a cute show when you can watch body ripping Gundams all day, with intense battles and tone shifting dramas, am I right? No, hell not. Miira no Kaikata comes to address just that, we don't usually see similar relaxing slice of lives were we follow a cast of character while they go about their days, living in harmony and peace, no wars to worry about, no hardships of any sorts or nothing, and you know, we all deserve peace of mind. Story (8/10): It's a stable among slice of life shows, they follow the life or a period of someone's daily hustles, sometimes, following a personal goal, trying to relate the characters to the viewer, Miira no Kaikata does not go against any of that, however, no goal is “truly” set, we get to focus on the relationships of four high schoolers and their secret Yokai pets that emit more cuteness than the name “Yokai” can ever bear. Just like any other day, Sora receives a package from his father who made it a horrifying habit to send his son all sorts of horrible curses and haunted playthings as genuine presents, and as that habit taught Sora, never open any packages unless he's fully armed, full-on alert, and really for assault, until an adorable, helpless, tiny Mummy walks out with more cuteness than one can handle. That's when the story kicks in. Along the line, Sora and the Mummy whom he names “Mii-kun” learn to understand each other, as every episode, each side learns about the other more. Aside from a couple of episodes, all mini-arcs were self-contained, spaning an episode each, very easy to follow and cruise through, the pacing never felt too slow or too fast, always keeping things steady and relaxing. Art (8.5/10): Art is very subjective and prone to taste, that's why context matters a lot. On normal circumstances, this show would have been around 7/10 in terms of visual fidelity, however, seeing how the show is trying to be cute, who am I to deny that, it nails special kind of art style that skyrockets the cuteness it tries to deliver. All creatures are super cute and heartwarming just to look at, the colors are very relaxing and well balanced, never too strain on the eyes, and the backgrounds fit tightly, bringing everything together just nicely. Sound (9/10): Ok, As soon as Mii-kun barked, I had to give this at least 9/10, seriously, go hear a compilation of that, I guarantee you a cure for every illness there is. The voice acting is top-notch, I'm not talking about any world-class performances, but the sheer simplicity of it was more than enough to deliver of the relaxing, happy atmosphere that fills the show. All of the characters speak in a reassuring manner, the blend the humor and life lessons they teach perfectly, leaving nothing else to nag on. The opening theme song is definitely a grower, not the best one out there, but man does it connect later on. The ending theme song was just on the spot. I like the energy and mood it delivers, perfectly suitable to hear after every heartwarming episode. Character (10/10): I am such an annoying picky perfectionist whenever it comes to the characters, I couldn't count on a single hand the show I considered as a solid 10/10 on the character department, but man, did this show blew me out of my rational. To start off, I never hated, disliked, or rolled my eyes on any of the characters, they were all relatable on some level and very likable. Sora is a fantastic main character for his series, he embodies the idealistic philosophy that he represents, the ultimate Mary Sue. The supporting cast was just as good, their backstories stuck to the mind easily, they are very relevant and with a lot of screentime. And of course, the adorable Yokai, Mii-kun, Conny, Isao, and Mukumuku. Oh right, the Galaxy Tights pig-thing that appeared on that one episode, not even Elvis can match his style. Enjoyment (10/10): I never expected anything from the show, and probably that was for the better, it was just another show I had to move from my plan-to-watch list and ended up easily one of the best things I've ever watched, but it's worth noting that time was very crucial and a heavy player for me. Work had me on some immense pressure that I just had to invest and something and relax to easy off the deadlines, luckily, Miira no Kaikata was just the right mental medicine. I ended up binging the show under 3 days, and that's saying a lot looking at my suffocating schedule, what a great show. Overall (9.1/10): It's always good to take things slow and steady sometimes, turned up Anime can also do that aside from the mainstream lewd and violence trope that the media tags it as. Miira no Kaikata is the show that values friendship, family and strong bonds, and for such times as today, a lot of relationships grow weaker and further day after day, and here is this show alluding to that indirectly, showing just how great it is to surround yourself with people that care about you and support you. Definitely one of those shows that find YOU and not the other way around, highly recommend watching this, but please, proceed with low expectations. Let the show take its time, if you're here for romance, there is none, if it's drama you're after, there is a different kind of drama that gets tackled, but if you're here to relax primarily, then you might just have won a pre-paid ticket to Hawaii.

I started watching this anime when my girlfriend stumbled upon a gif of Mii-kun in her feed. Mii is an unbearably cute miniature mummy that gets send to our protagonist-kun by his father. And him being so cute is the main selling point of the anime. I'm a 25-year old and 6'4" tall man that isn't easily emotionally disturbed, but this anime brought me to tears with almost every episode because it's just to cute to handle. We could never watch more than one episode a night because of that fact. It could need a little polish here and there, so can't really give it a full 10, but from an enjoyment standpoint and what this story seeks out to do it's top notch.

High school student Sora Kashiwagi is apprehensive due to previous bad experiences with his father's "gifts" when he receives a mysterious oversized package by his self-proclaimed "adventurer" father. With his imagination going wild, the last thing Sora expects is for it to be opened from the inside... by a little mummy so small it can fit in the palm of his hand! My Thoughts: Also called How To Keep a Mummy, this anime is funny, lighthearted and endearing. Mii-kun is such a lovable little mummy. I love the way the 'oni" can communicate without having to actually speak with words. Gestures and sound like grunts seems to get their point across. Sora's character is caring and selfless. He does whatever he can to help in any way when someone needs it. I love the camaraderie between Sora and his friends. This anime was a fun watch and I hope they do a season 2.

How to Keep a Mummy is one of those rare anime that doesn’t rely on intense plot twists or action to leave an impact. Instead, it thrives on pure wholesomeness, soft emotions, and healing vibes. From the very first episode, it gives off a calming atmosphere that feels like a break from reality. What I loved most was how simple yet meaningful it is. The story follows everyday life, but the emotional value comes from the relationships and the adorable “mummy” itself. It’s incredibly easy to watch, and honestly feels like therapy after a long day. The animation is soft and cute, perfectly matching the tone of the series. The soundtrack is gentle and never overwhelms the scenes, which makes the entire experience feel peaceful and cozy. However, if you’re someone who needs a strong plot or fast pacing, this might feel too slow or repetitive. This anime is more about comfort than progression.

Mii-kun more like Miid-kun Cheap animation, some good laughs, very cute, but forgets what kind of show it was trying to be. Unnecessary melodrama in the second half that serves no purpose. It's thoroughly adorable and there are some nice background details with some of the characters even if the budget probably wasn't all that high. Out of the main (human) cast, only two characters have anything to do with anything and everyone else is dead weight. Sora and Kamiya start off like good friends but towards the end of the show act more like a couple in a failing marriage with the latter flying off the handle over the slightest thing. All in all, it's pretty painless so recommended if you're looking for something cute and mind-numbing. I'd also recommend Flying Witch for more good vibes.

This anime made me write the first (hopefully not the last anime review). This is really a hidden gem! It's a heartwarming tale with fantasy/youkai elements. The story is very simple to follow, it's good for teenagers and adults. But it's the concept of this anime. If you enjoy fantasy vibes and a cosy atmosphere, Miira no Kaikata is for you. It has good, likeable characters and school is just a background. You can also see character development. I got teary eyes and some scenes touched my soul. Art style is pretty standard nonetheless it has cute vibes, especially with "animal" characters. Music and sound effects don't stand out, but it doesn't destroy the mood of anime. 10/10

This show is so cute it should be a crime. I only watched this show because I saw a clip of it on social media and thought "This is cute, I'll give it a try". I am so glad I did. Every episode is like wrapping a warm blanket over my cold dead heart. All the cute little characters and watching them grow was so sweet. Mii-Kun? Love that little guy, he tries so hard to be a good little mummy! Conny? What a little stinker I love him. Isao? I literally cry every time he is on screen from how cute he is. Mukumuku? Where I can one I too have never slept well in my life. Not only is their characterization great, but the humans also grow and have such great development (Daichi is in fact my son who I want nothing more than to make him a snack and tell him I am proud of him). If you're looking for a quick little watch to make you smile this is it. You will not be disappointed.
