Wu Shan Wu Xing (2020)

This show does more in its 3 episodes than the majority of anime can do in 12-50. Although you can probably treat it similar to a film due to the current runtime, it's a stunning thing. It's not going to surprise you with the plot elements, most of it is telegraphed well and you can guess where things will go. Nonetheless, everything is done so well that it doesn't matter that you can see the general element coming. It'll still hit well. The Art is amazing, it's very unique and dynamic and the backgrounds are the best out there right now, save some of the highest budget anime. The sketchy, hard outlines makes it very striking, and the energy effects are very well integrated. Sound is satisfying. I only don't rate it higher because I'm no sound expert. Characters are all well-defined and likable. Genuinely curious to see who ends up being important and changes with the story, and who is just going to slip into the background. Simple, but all solid. It's just a fun series and made me feel like a kid watching Dragon Ball Z or Naruto for the first time again. Especially helpful since revisiting those two just makes me feel disappointed, if nostalgic.

First review so imma make this short. To be honest this is more like a movie that was for some reason broken up into three parts so I’m grading it as a movie but anyway the story wasn’t really there but the animation and art is really great as well as the sound and it can be made into something cool story wise too. If I felt like this was really meant to be a tv show I would’ve given a lower score, but this is basically a movie even the end was like a movie with the cutscenes either way I can’t wait for more. 8
