Never been a huge fan of these types of stories. Harem's generally speaking, but more particularly stories with content that doesnt seem to "matter". What I mean by that is, stories with this kind of structure have you going through the motions until the pre-determined end. That being the MC ending up with one of the 5 sisters. In this story, they make that super obvious. So the "point" of the story is to see which one he gets together with. The enjoyment you then derive form watching/reading is picking a girl and then hoping she wins. However, that is where I think this falls flat, not just for this story, but a lot of them. Giving each girl screen time is necessary to keep up the illusion of a contest, but it comes at a huge detriment to the overall narrative. If each girl is having these life altering revelations over this one guy, then it can be hard to root for a single one. It also devalues the next life alerting event to a certain extent. It creates this endless merry-go-round of who "deserves" to be with MC which gets messier with each pass. This show covered about 32 chapters of the current 98 out right now, and that sounds absolutely exhausting to me. I imagine it just constantly goes back and forth between girls until you dont know who you want anymore. Each nice moment is overshadowed by the next until nothing holds weight anymore. Thats what I mean by content that doesnt seem to matter. You are completly at the creators whim, who likely already picked who it would be before even starting the story. I dont know, maybe these kinds of stories just arnt for me. I didnt hate it, but it just seemed so pointless to me.

*MANGA SPOILERS AHEAD* So it's been almost 6 months since I picked up this series and I have to say it's amazing and didn't expect much less from it. The art is beautiful and I believe that it personally has a more mysterious vibe to it than Nisekoi. In the first season he has to make these five beautiful quintuplets pass their final year and graduate. He decided to work on the girls that needed the most help first. To Fuutarou-kun's surprise, they are all in great need of help. Yet, they don't want help. Especially Nino and Itsuki. Later on he realizes one of those girls is a past friend who guided him to where he is now. Which is Miku (who is also best girl). But before this all happens Fuutarou-kun encounters two problems, he is sacrificing his grades for these girls and there's another test coming up if they fail he's fired. It's about a beautiful story of a man trying to help all these girls graduate and save his family, all while we figure out which girl he ends up with. I rate the story a 9/10 OST 8/10 Animation 10/10 sound 8/10 and enjoyment a 10/10

5-toubun no Hanayome was a great anime, full of enjoyment. From the beginning the anime already give us the bride, but we dont know who she is. So this anime also give us a mystery who is the bride. Overall is good. 5-toubun no Hanayome also confirmed to get seacon season, so its good news for us. And the harem is quite unique too. The manga still ongoing, so its really great we already get second season before the manga complete. I'm really enjoying this anime and I really hope fuutaro ends up with Miku or at least fuutaro choose nino. So i give 10 score.

This is truly a wholesome harem anime. I enjoy the characters and feel that they are well designed. The sisters are all different and have their own personalities but I do still get the feel that they are family. But the main appeal of this show to me is its inclusion of a mystery aspect. Unlike many other harem anime, there isn't a clear lead among the heroines. Furthermore, we know right from the beginning that one of the heroines does end up with the male lead. But, we don't know which one. The best part of the series is learning about the different characters, picking a favorite, and then trying to piece together the clues to see who ends up being the "winner." It's quite enjoyable and I look forward to (hopefully) some more seasons to try to piece the puzzle together.

Whats so incredible about this show is that its a harem, and we as the audience know that, but it still drags you in. Usually we will see "oh, harem? Seen it once, seen it all." HOWEVER, the greatest distinction in this harem is one absolutely critical piece that I realized all other harems lacked: the male protagonist is a dynamic character! The MC is NOT a clueless fool, who is generally reserved, finds himself in perverse situations, and will out of no where yell out this monologue to sound "cool." No no, Uesugi Fuutaro has substance to him. His character, history, and personality play almost as much of an important role as the girls in the show. When presented in somewhat ecchi situations, he berates the girls in a confident tone-- none of that shy "oh no, you mustn't do that." Whats most sad about this is that there isn't enough time on one season to completely flesh out all the characters, so only the MC and 2.5 of the quintuplets get fleshed out enough to be contenders for the MC. I recommend watching for the romance, less for the harem tropes.

I never thought I'd end up liking this show, as I hate harem as a genre, but this is the one exception to the rule, as it would be, and it works to create a great cast of characters in a world with a seemingly generic premise at the start. The characters are mostly believably made, with their relationships being carefully taken care of. Each of the five main heroines look similiar, but they all sport vastly different personalities and ambitions. The MC can be a little daft at times, but believe me, this is nothing compared to other harem anime. In fact, the entirety of the first season was just him trying to cope with the six of them now being essentially friends. There are some generic tropes here and there (the festival arc in particular, albeit executed way differently than usual), but it's overshadowed by everything else. Truly, probably one of the only worthy harem anime around ... Miku and Nino bae

On my journey to become an anime snob, I decided I needed to embrace the harem trash I am, and thus have found myself watching this show. That's a lie, my roommate and I decided we wanted to watch a dumb rom com together to ignore our responsibilities for a bit every week, and this show fit the bill. I have to say, the most fun I had with this show is yelling back and forth with her about who best girl is, it's Miku, and seeing if it will hit all of the harem tropes before NOTHING HAPPENS IN THE END AGAIN. For this, I say find a friend, significant other, or family member who, like you, wants to just turn their brain off and watch a dumb fun show about a man being oggled by five lovely ladies for... reasons. To be fair, our main man Fuutarou does not have the personality of sandpaper meant to be a self-insert protagonist, and has a likable personality despite his crass tendencies. He has priorities, nuances, and above all else... a spine. The presence of a personality means how he interacts with each of the heroines is different depending on the situation. Like an onion, which is what his head looks like, he has layers to what and why he does what he does, even if it is only a couple layers deep. While this doesn't change how frustrating it can be to watch him do or say certain things, you at least understand where he is coming from given his position and knowledge, rather than seeing a response occur purely for the sake of "plot." Overall this is what drives the show and makes it entertaining to watch since the heroines are all essentially one-note personalities. You've got the standard one everyone knows is going to be the one chosen in the end, you've got the tsundere who is borderline abusive, you've got the playful and flirty one who makes feeling obvious, you've got the hyperactive one who has more energy than a toddler on red bull , and you've got the quiet one that is best girl because she has the most development and distinct personality of them all. I was honestly hoping for more development in all of them, would make this show so much more interesting, but sadly you know the 12 episode limit meant only a couple of them would get any real character/background development. But the foundations are there and if the second season does more, I might actually start to care about these characters. If that happens, I may need to start watching this show sober and without the attention span of a goldfish. Story, art, and sound were not that memorable. The premise and jokes are entertaining, but gets old after a while. However the characters and how the interact are fun to watch and keep your attention long enough to want to see how they turn out. Overall, I give this a 7. It's not amazing, but it is very entertaining. Bonus points awarded for being a fun show to watch with a friend, and great drinking game for everytime they make a quintuplet gag or joke. Sit down, turn off your brain, enjoy PSA: I am not endorsing drinking while watching the show. But if you do, do so responsibly like the responsible adult you are

8/10 (This review is for the entire series: S1, S2, Movie) The Quintessential Quintuplets contains many ingredients that make it a strong contender in the buddy love genre. With tight character work, cute designs, and the avoidance of cheesy drama, tropes, and distasteful fan service, it’s up there in what Shonen romance has to offer. MC Fuutaro, while somewhat unlikeable, grows and changes from a hardened, socially awkward teenager into one who sees the true value of relationships. This feel-good story has been done many times before, but Quintuplets can boldly say it carries substance and style. The show commits to organic character development as the viewer sees the broader cast grow and change. Unfortunately the large amount of characters prevents all key players from their development, resulting in an ending that doesn’t feel fully earned. While the eventual endgame romance still feels right, it needed more time and focus. For many of us, the buddy love story is the quintessential feel-good anime, and The Quintessential Quintuplets greatly delivers on that promise. + Unique premise; story beats and characters subvert expectations of genre + Favors well-executed cliches over drama, tropes, or fan service - Too many characters affect pacing in a negative way - Ending can be argued as decisive due to uneven character development

Tldr: this show is amazing and well worth your time This is my first review, so don't be too harsh with me :) I saw many reviews with very low and seemingly unjust scores, so I decided to add my grain of salt. I came here because I kept on being recommended this show on my social media, and I wasn't disappointed at all. This holy grail of waifus is the dream of every hikikomori, yet this isn't actually what made me like this series, but more of a consequence of everything the author put into this story. This not-so-typical harem, which puts to shame the generic harems I've previously watched, starts off great and ends in similar fashion. To be honest, I didn't expect much from this anime, I just expected it to be a stereotypical harem with an annoying main character and empty girls around him: boy was I wrong. This wholesome, heart-warming show has made it in my top 5, with its great art, sound and characters. Unlike other harems though, you shouldn't expect lots of lewd scenes and nip-slips, but more profound, deep, complex relationships between the characters (which sets it apart from other anime of the same genre). It should be noted that this is a romance anime, and so don't expect some battles and beasts. I like this genre so I don't mind but if this isn't your style of anime, maybe this isn't for you. This show is aimed for a somewhat broad audience (no weird scenes unlike other harems...) but not for everyone. OK so how did I rate this? Story: 8 The story is simple yet easy to attach to, and the author keeps adding in more and more elements to make it interesting. No fillers, no time wasting just great arcs that keep following one another. No unrealistic events or anything, just good content. The gift that keeps on giving. Friendly reminder: the story is character-driven not plot-driven. Art: 9 I didn't see any flaws in the art, and the characters are well-drawn (which is important judging by the genre of The Quintessential Quintuplets). The female characters are good-looking, the MC isn't hateable just by his looks (quite an accomplishment for a harem). Some landscapes are nice to look at but not quite a 10/10 either I'd say. Sound: 10 The opening and ending songs are great, so are the sound effects, the voice acting... Top-tier for sure. Characters: 10 The characters get more and more complex, and it's easy to attach yourself to each and every one of them. They evolve over time which make them interesting, they're funny, they're kind, they're relatable and not over-the-top or acting "fake". One of the main assets of this show is the quality of the characters and how the author builds on this. I think it's fair to say everyone can like at least 2 quintuplets judging by how different their personalities are. Enjoyment: 10 Once again, no debate here. The characters, mixed in with the sound, the art and the plot make this an extremely enjoyable show to watch. Binged it really quickly, which is usually not something I like to do or have time for. Overall: 10 I would definitely recommend watching this show. I came here with low hopes, and I was stunned by the quality of this show, I hope you'll be too.

This anime is enjoyable without demanding 100% of your attention. The characters are all likeable, and, despite being a harem, I didn't feel particular dislike for any of the girls, and the protaginist wasn't incredibly boring or perverted. I wanted a little more exploration of some of the girls, but realistically, there's only so much one can do in 12 episodes, so I'm glad there is a second season. While there seems to be a large focus on one of the girls in particular in this series, it's not too much to say that she is going to be the final choice, which is the one main thing a viewer can ask for in a harem type anime. If you don't like harem animes, then it won't be for you, as there are a lot of cliches, but overall, it's a fun, short watch.

Story: 9/10 The story was not popping off. It was a harem anime that did not have too much going on. Nonetheless, I liked the story because I am a big fan of character development. The plot involved consistent inclusion of all 5 girls as well as their interactions with Uesugi. The story build up was great and made me want to read the manga not to find out who he gets married to, but rather Uesugi's development with each girl. Art: 7/10 The art was bubbly and bright. Pretty well made. I would say they focus more on the character arts because the background were decent and standard. Not too much to say on this. Sound: 7/10 Same with the art, the sounds in the anime were good but standard. The voice acting was done well and each character had their own personalities in their respective voices. Other than that, nothing too special. Character: 8/10 I really like the sisters. They really work well together because they are all different and have their own unique individual personalities. The show does really well with the sisters but it doesn't have that same pace of character development with Uesugi. Uesugi's character is built on the sisters which made it lost points. I think as the main character, he should have slightly more character development. Other than that, the characters are great. Enjoyment: 9/10 I love romance anime. There's nothing much to say here. If you like romance, then this is your anime. However, if you are a Waifu Gladiator then please refrain from fighting people about who best girl is. Respect everyone's best girls and also just enjoy. It's an anime. Overall: 8/10 Overall this anime was very good because of what the characters offer. The story and the characters work well together because the consistent build up leaves you craving for more. Side Note: This is my first anime review and I'm scoring based on how I feel about it. I am no anime critique. I am no professional anime watcher. I just enjoy writing reviews and having discussions with people regarding anime.

When it comes to harem anime, reviews like these are often taken with a huge helping of salt because of the nature of these animes. However, Gotoubun no Hanayome is, dare I say, the pinnacle of harem anime, featuring the most rounded cast to have ever graced this genre, a sufficiently detailed and well-established storyline, and, surprisingly, not a lot of ecchi, which is definitely refreshing at that. Story The overall story isn't that outlandish, a financially struggling straight-A high school student gets offered a job to teach 5 wealthy quintuplets, from there, one by one, the quintuplets fall to the high school student's charm and eventually all compete for his love. It's not something we haven't seen before, and BokuBen used this style earlier this year. However, where BokuBen slows down, this anime speeds up. We are given a Nisekoi-Esque promise from 5 years ago to help solidify the protagonist's relationship with the 5 girls and each girl's individual arcs puts her on a shining spotlight in a unique way, allowing for equal development in both her strengths and her weaknesses. While other anime tend to cloud these developments with the girl's innate desire to fall in love with the protagonists, this anime uses that motivation, or in Nino's case, the lack of that desire to develop their personality. The result is a very diverse cast that almost feel real, so real in fact, that I feel a much stronger connection to these girls than any of the other anime I mentioned before. Art and Sound The art featured in this anime is varied, to say the least. It decreases in quality when it needs to and increases whenever possible. I find that this is shown most in a simple comparison between the quintuplets' penthouse and Uesugi's room, one comparison shows so many subtle details the artists added in to heighten the girls' development even more. Don't even get me started on the festival arc. Not only is the lighting and art at every individual firework spot-on, the way the lighting interacts with each girl to set certain moods is effective as well. Regarding sound, the OST makes a good job of highlighting each girl's personality in their own respective arcs, as well as easily set and maintain moods during arcs such as the Summer Camp Arc and the Festival Arc. The OP and second ED are great too, with each quintuplet's VA pulling their weight to the max to deliver this upbeat OP and soothing ED that I can't help but listen too, even after finishing the show. Characters As I mentioned before, I think the cast of Gotoubun is the most rounded I've ever seen in a harem anime. For once, our protagonist Uesugi isn't as dense as a neutron star, and can actually notice and understand each girl's feelings as the anime progresses. It doesn't mean he's completely out of the park yet, as he is still hilariously dumb when the anime needs him to be, but at least he's not a complete idiot either. Regarding the quintuplets, each of them embodies a commonly seen trope in anime girls, and uses that basis to develop them into well-rounded characters. Ichika is your typical onee-san, a bit lewd here and there, but overall the most protective and caring for her sisters, to such a degree that she often keeps many secrets from them just so that she can maintain the quality of their lives. Nino is your typical hard-headed softboiled idiot, she loves her family, but hates outsiders. Like the membrane of a cell she just doesn't let up until you prove to her that you're friendly. While the anime didn't cover the chapter that converted a good portion of the fanbase, Nino still saw enough screentime for us to glimpse at her inner feelings and feel hype for her inevitable development in Season 2. Miku is my personal favorite. Shy, booksmart, and from her family's standpoint, the smartest of the bunch. The anime immediately capitalizes on her at the start of the series, solidifying her as a force to be reckoned with for the remainder of the series and well into the manga. She's the first to show her soft side to Uesugi, and by doing so establishes such high of a character to place her firmly as my favorite best girl. Yotsuba is your muscle-brained nice girl. So nice that she goes out of her way to help. While the anime (or the manga, for that matter) didn't cover much for her development, she's made it clear that ultimately, she exists to support people, which is why she goes out of her way to help places like the sports teams in the anime. She wants her sisters to be happy, and by doing so she sacrifices her own happiness for them. A kindhearted soul at that. Itsuki, in my opinion, received the least attention, she's established herself as a semi-tsundere food lover at the start, and that's it. She didn't receive much development after that. But whatever development she did get did solidify her enough so that she can stand on her own. Hoping to see more development for her in Season 2. Overall, Gotoubun gave me a stunning example that not all harem anime has to be super ecchi and devoid of character development. Each character felt stunningly real and well-developed, and I'm definitely curious to see what the next season could bring for them

So... what is the point of this series again...? While it is cute, the entire gimmick feels off. The quintuplets don't feel like real characters, they turn very quickly from hating the main character to falling in love with him, over literally basic interaction. Are their standards that low? Or did they never have any basic interaction with the opposite sex? How come they all fall in love with the same person in the exact same time? Nothing here makes sense and makes the characters feel like writing tools to make the fantasy of the writer come to fruition as that fantasy would never work in real life due to how stupid and badly written it is. Why the hell was it needed to create a harem with identical sisters, or family members to begin with? What would the 4 do once there's a winner? Try to kill her? Or just accept that they lost their "love of their life"? Its extremely stupid, written bad and unbelievable. There is so many unneeded drama because they can't literally talk over the situation and their feelings. They would rather have awkward situations, run away one from another or fight and argue over the silliest stuff instead of taking a deep breath and thinking before throwing stuff out of their mouths. It has too many cliches - the childhood friend part, the girls are pretty much perfect in terms of looks, from their face to their body to everything they represent outside. Don't forget that they come from a rich home, and obviously the father that hired their teacher is never in it so they can have some accidents and dumb stuff happening to support the typical harem cliches. What father in their right mind would hire a high school student at the age of his daughters to tutor them as a private teacher? The fact he knew his daughters are problematic and refuse to study should make things obvious for him about how strict he was supposed to be, but no, let a kid take over everything and don't get involved even in the slightest and expect for some results. HE NEVER EVEN PHYSICALLY CHECKED TO SEE WHAT IS GOING ON OR NEVER EVEN MET THE TEACHER IN PERSON. Ignoring the dumb story - the art is sometimes pretty good and sometimes feels really off. The animation for most of the adaptation is really bad, to the point where fluid movement barely exists in the adaptation other than the last few episodes. The running animation felt really choppy and badly drawn most of the time, except for the anime openings where they wasted several frames on boobs bouncing because that's apparently the most important part... Either way, the sound design is fine, nothing special but never felt bad. The characters are non-existent. Futaro is fine~ish, while some of his reactions are dumb and are only written in a certain way to lead to awkwardly bad situations, he is the typical main character that people like to shove to harem animes, so its fine. The quintuplets aren't real characters, their dad isn't a real character, Futaro's dad looks like a slightly older brother and doesn't really feel like an actual dad, and his sister is somewhat alright considering she is supposed to be a little girl. If you like to watch 5 identical beautiful girls throw themselves over some random boy for the fact he is a little "nice" to them I guess this show is for you. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and run away from this piece of garbage.

To be honest, I wasn't expecting much of this show. I started watching it because I thought the Quints' designs were cute, but in the end, I was positively surprised. I'm not too big on harem animes so I was reluctant at first, but this one was entertaining and I ended up loving most of the characters, even the protagonist. The art and character designs for the anime are really pretty and colorful. The animation isn't the best and it's quite wobbly at times, but it's not bothering at all. OST wise, the opening and ending are a pleasure to listen to! Especially the ending song. The visuals in it are also nice and I don't think I ever skipped it. To focus a bit more on the characters, I think they are one of the strongest point of this show. All of them have an unique personality, and even if some of them are kinda cliché, it's not too over the top. I even ended up loving some characters I didn't really care for at the beginning. The protagonist is actually not hateble like in a lot of harem animes and has his funny moments too. This isn't a spoiler, but throughout the anime, there are some flashbacks and clues for us to guess who the protagonist is going to end with. We get some wedding sequences, but we can never tell who's the bride. It's kinda satisfying to think that he's really going to pick someone, and trying to guess which girl it is got me too invested. Another plus, the seiyuu for this show did an awesome job! To conclude, I'd say this anime isn't revolutionary but it's definitly enjoyable and fun to watch. A strong 7 for me. I would recommend it to people who usually aren't fond of harem animes.

Wow. I'm embarrass to say that I actually enjoyed watching this anime. Harem is usually very predictable; the lock room event, sick event, moment of courage event, lot of those cliche event are present to every harem anime out there. 5-toubun no Hanayome has that, but unique in its own way. Same harem flavor, but different taste. Our main dude is our usual dense personality. But their 5 main heroine are top notch. Any of them can be the female lead of any anime. Each girls have their own strength, and since love/like is subjective, every person out there have their own ship. I personally like Ichika though. But you can never go wrong with any of them. Story: 5/10 (no serious plot or something involve here. just a romance here and there) Art: 6/10 (art is inconsistent sometimes.) Sound: 9/10 (OP and ED are good. Voice acting is top notch, considering the main 5 heroine voice actress are all stars. If you have Kana Hanazawa on your anime, your blessed. Shes an angel) Character: 10/10 (Its easy to create a 1 likable main character, but 5 is not. Those quintuplets are special.) Enjoyment: 10/10 (im not a big fan of romance but this one hook me) Overall: 8/10 This anime change my mind on the harem genre. This one is actually good. The animation and artwork is sometimes ugly on some scenes. But still, its worth a shot. Maybe one of the best harem anime available today.

This anime hit the spot its aiming. If you are looking to watch a romantic comedy, with lovable characters, comedy and intriguing plot. This is what you are looking for. 5 girls that look exactly the same and may fall for the same guy. Sounds very interesting for me. Not all romantic animes have to leave feeling something. Sometimes, an escape from the daily routine and immerse yourself into something different is what you need. And this anime accomplish that. This anime is something i look forward every Thursday to watch. I'm team Ichika by the way. Many people in this community try too hard to look like Anime connoisseurs or experts. And somehow miss the point of the show.

It is very great harem anime for me i don't know what some viewers idea But it is very good anime.

I'm a fan of the seasonal "trash" anime, and you already know what I'm talking about. Guy meets girl, she instantly falls in love, some stuff happens, then the show's over. The Quintessential Quintuplets, however, spices things up and isn't the overly cliche show you would expect. The harem is five girls who, as you might expect from the title, are all sisters! It leads to some funny moments regarding their looks and being mix matched, but it also has some more semi-serious moments because of that sisterhood. The five girls are all pretty unique in personalities, and at least one will cater to you certainly. You get a general idea of the type of character they are early on, but as they warm up to the MC you get to go a bit into their thought process and actually see what causes them to change because of our MC. Which is another reason why I really loved this show; the main character doesn't do one stupid, overly simple action (if you're a fan of trash anime you know what I'm talking about) to win over the hearts of all the girls. While debatable for one or two girls, he actually puts in the effort to "bond" with the group, bond being working as their tutor. But this process is very well done, and we get to see how as both the MC and girls learn about each other, they warm up and we get to watch their relationships build up. It's so much more satisfying this way rather than all the girls instantly falling for him in the first episode. As for the main character himself, he is very unique and a fun lead to have. While maybe slightly dense, it is nowhere NEAR as bad as a lot of other trashy anime, and in fact does a good job at handling himself around the sisters. He is extremely smart, and his purpose is to tutor the girls which doesn't go as easily planned. He is a loner and intelligent, immediately giving off some Hachiman vibes (even though I think 8man is more well written, our MC here is still great). For the extra stuff, the art isn't too horrible. It definitely has some moments, especially in the last episode or two, but overall it isn't bad. The important part is the girls are drawn cute, and the facial expressions are done right! The sound also was pretty decent, and I enjoyed it a lot. It really made certain moments the way they were, like somber moments with fitting music and comedic moments with goofy music - it worked well. As for story, it has pretty good progression in terms of the relationship between the MC and girls. While there is no overarching plot line at the moment beyond their tutoring, we get to watch the girls grow and see how much their relationships improve with the MC, as an entire group of sisters and individually which is, again, very well done. Overall, I believe this show will surpass many people's expectations. In the end though, it depends on the genres you like most. If you are very picky about romances and are looking for a drama heavy series, then this might not fit the bill (the show does have some drama still). But for what the show presented itself as - a romcom harem - it's done pretty damn well! If you're a fan of harems in general, this is a must watch of course. But beyond that, it was genuinely fun and interesting to see the girls and how they developed compared to episode 1, delving slightly into some sister themes as well as how they handle the MC. Totally recommend the show if a harem romcom is up your alley, hopefully you enjoy it!

Firstly, I would like to say this is, from what I can recall, the first review I have written for anything. There will not be any major spoilers, and I will try to keep it short so if you’re deciding whether to watch this anime, you can decide faster. I’m not sure how many people will even read this, but if nothing else, it’s purely to put my thoughts about this show down. TL;DR: The Quintessential Quintuplets may look like a typical harem at first, but it’s really a heartfelt romance and slice-of-life story about growth and genuine love. Each of the five sisters develops in meaningful ways, and the main character, Futaro, stays fair and sincere rather than playing with anyone’s feelings. The story builds up naturally to a satisfying and emotional conclusion, supported by warm visuals and a fitting soundtrack. Rating: 9/10 — a wholesome, emotional, and surprisingly genuine romance that goes beyond expectations. The Quintessential Quintuplets on the surface looks like a stereotypical harem, and while I would say it does have a few harem tropes, I would personally class this anime as a romance/slice of life rather than a harem. My reason for this is that it’s not like the main character is dating all the girls at once, nor is he in multiple relationships at the same time. In fact, he only ends up in a relationship with one of them. Throughout the show, it may seem like he’s leading them on by not outright rejecting anyone, which can make it look like a typical harem since he’s constantly interacting with each of the girls. In reality, he’s simply giving them all a fair chance to express their feelings. While he does eventually have to make a choice, it’s done in a way that feels genuine and earned rather than forced or purely for fan service. The buildup to that moment is one of the strongest aspects of the show — it’s gradual, emotional, and filled with small, meaningful interactions that make the characters feel real. Each of the quintuplets has her own personality, insecurities, and growth throughout the story. What I really appreciated is that they aren’t just defined by basic anime archetypes like “the shy one” or “the tsundere.” As the series progresses, you begin to understand the reasons behind their behavior and see how each of them matures through their interactions with the main character, Futaro. Futaro himself is a surprisingly strong protagonist. He’s hardworking, logical, and genuinely tries to stay fair, even when things get complicated. While he isn’t perfect and can sometimes come off as dense or overly serious, those flaws make him feel more believable and relatable. The animation and art style are beautiful and fit the tone perfectly. The bright colors, expressive faces, and cozy settings make it a very enjoyable show to look at. The soundtrack is also worth mentioning; while it’s subtle, it adds a nice emotional touch to many scenes, especially during the heartfelt or dramatic moments. Overall, The Quintessential Quintuplets is far more than just another “guy surrounded by girls” anime. It’s a story about growth, understanding, and love that develops naturally over time. If you enjoy romance with genuine emotion and characters who evolve meaningfully, this series is definitely worth watching.

The anime its a harem at the core, but its kinda relatable if you but away the idea that its a harem.I love the characters especially Miku(for me its the best out of the quintuplets). The ,,quints'' are relatable, they represent a normal lads even though they are rich. The artstyle is stunning making it one of my favourite artstyles. It is full of emotions most of the anime.I still dont understand Futaros decision at the end of the anime(season 2+ movie),im sure you will question him too(or not). The story is kind of unique, yoou rarely see romance animes about quintuplets.Im 98% sure that you will fall in love with the quints, and their story!!
