Stand My Heroes: Piece of Truth
スタンドマイヒーローズ PIECE OF TRUTH

Absolute garbage, I'm an avid reverse harem watcher, I'd honestly dare to say I've watched every reverse harem post it's initial popularity in the 1990's. I can stretch myself out to even slightly enjoy the trash that roams our streets at night, name to say Diabolik Lovers or Dance with Devils. Or even Jyuuza Engi, hypothetically I'd stretch into a yoyo. Anyway, even saying that: I wouldn't reccomend this garbage 'Stand My Heroes' to anyone. While I was in Japan I was watching it on the telly as a meme, and would occasionally browse it's merch while I was at anime stores, but by God, by the time the season finale came out I wanted to march down into hell, grab Satan by the neck and beg him the answers as to why this blander-than-your-mother's-sunday-toast anime was created. Heroine, bland. Immune to drugs? So what. It's never brought up in the anime after it's initial mention. Men? Blander than the baby powder I had to haul over to my family in China after the asbestos poisoning of '07. Each character just looks like the same default Sim repainted over and over again with a clown's tampon. Honestly it feels like they tried to do something different with the entire NCIS/SVU theme as well as RV, but honestly none of those themes worked as they couldn't stick to one or the other, or couldn't commit. So TLDR, I can't believe I wasted six hours of my life watching this lifeless (as well as convoluted and boring) anime that has no place in both the crime and romance genres. Adieu,

This is the umpteenth reverse harem show I've watched, and despite being a male, this DOES NOTHING to break my previous attempts at deriding such shows like this to say that despite the story and narratives, the characters, essentially one woman a.k.a. the catalyst and the many similar-looking men all wanting some "thirst" out of her skills and abilities. Why can't this reverse harem (NOT the Josei) genre just fade into oblivion? In order for reverse harems to work out the way it is, the central girl MC is in question. Unfortunately, this whole anime coming from a game adaptation, works and plays TOO similarly like a game, where you the (female) player protagonist, hired at some company just because you're an expert in that field, and must ABSOLUTELY ask some Ikemen around to get to your goal. The end result is like watching a "Let's Play" game unfold, only that this is nothing interesting at all. And that's who the female MC Rei Izumi is: the "perfect drug-alleviating candidate" to scout for Ikemen, just because drugs won't work on her (and dismisses that entirely after the VERY first episode) and that she is the ONLY one suitable for the job. Boring story plot and even lesser with little to no character development. Not to mention that getting the "Prince of Tennis" studio M.S.C does not break the bank as well. Terrible backgrounds and bland character design, just could not emphasize this point very directly, because it's just that. The fact that I remember Code:Realize by the same studio made in 2017 with the exact same source adaptation that at least had decent execution speaks volumes about its reach towards the general audience with a better setting and (at least) good character development. Song choices with the OST are the only ones I can compliment about this anime, and that's the best part about it alone. All in all, a show that isn't worth watching, even for the most niche of audiences (Josei).

I'm going to be honest, I rarely write reviews, so bear with me here. Reading the synopsis, I had very high hopes for this anime, despite the mediocre score. The anime let me down in basically every way possible though. The only reason I finished the anime in the first place is that I don't like to drop anime, in hopes that they will get better; this one doesn't. The story is very boring, each episode makes you believe that something will come from it, but you barely learn anything. The characters just repeat what they already know over and over again and add just a little information at the end, leading to a very slow very boring anime. I fell asleep several times watching it, and when I woke up, basically nothing had changed. There are entirely too many characters in general, and basically all of them all male except for the mc. I get that it's a reverse harem, but the mc and a comatose girl and a woman that is revealed way later are the only ones ever given names that I remember. All of the characters blend together and half the time I had no idea which one they were talking about. One of the reasons why I watched this is because of the romance tag, which is also a dead end. The only romance to speak of that is actually in the anime rather than the subtext is a small arc which after it's finished, is only touched on a couple more times before never being spoken of or shown again. The mc is probably the worst character I've ever seen. Despite being in law enforcement, she has no idea how to defend herself, or listen to orders, thus she is always running into things she can't handle and needing everyone else to help her out with the simplest things. The climax makes almost no sense with basically no foreshadowing to think off, and all the reasoning for it is explained in that very episode, making it very rushed and confusing. The ending leaves many loose ends and hints to a second season, which I will most definitely not be watching. All in all, if you see these reviews, despite how cool the plot sounds, it is a total let down and not worth your time. Please pay attention to the reviews and the ratings. The only things I liked about this anime were the art and the opening and ending tracks, and those things are really not enough to make up for my wasted time on this anime.

To be honest, when I saw that this anime had romance I was expecting to see some cute scenes. BUT I DIDN'T ! Overall, the story was plain and the characters were so monotone that I was starting to get bored but I still carried on because of the cliffhangers that made me continue to watch it. I didn't enjoy this because of the lack of romance and character's emotions building up during the story and as a person I didn't feel any connection or attachment. Characters were very basic and I feel like their relationship towards each other were not the type that would make an anime fan ship them (or probs just me) The sound: the intro music was entertaining I already know the words to it because it is catchy and it matches to the connotations of the anime.

I have watched all the episodes and its exciting tbh I didn't understand what are they like but at the end I did and its very interesting honestly I think the anime is good I dunno I think everything is great! I wish there will be a season 2 of this and I dunno this had a game? I know that some people expect this a reverse harem kinda genre cuz ya know many boys then one girl yep but I think this is good! Very interesting anime! But I think we deserve some a llittle cute scenes OwO! The story is definetly unique and its cool! The art style is very pretty as well! All of the characters personalities are so different that its interesting! I think some people will enjoy this like me and I think there are some other people who will not like it.

Stand my Heroes is an anime based off of a mobile otome game. It came out late '19. It was produced by M.S.C, a studio I'm completely unfamiliar with. Although their big thing seems to be anime about tennis. This one was a request, so let's look into it. Story: Our heroine is Izumi Rei, a law enforcement officer who's immune to drugs and, as such, gets chosen to act as a scout for Stand, a new unit that's designed to handle drug crimes. While doing her job and looking for people to join Stand, she stumbles into a conspiracy. Let's start with the problem most of you have already picked out based on that short description. Having a character who's "immune to drugs" as a blanket statement doesn't make sense. Unless they're an android. Your body absorbs drugs the same way it absorbs nutrients. If you abuse one for a long period of time, it will lose a lot of its impact and there are conditions that cause you not to absorb things properly through digestion which could, theoretically, make her basically unaffected by ingested drugs. But, it's worth noting that people with that kind of condition couldn't physically serve in law enforcement because their bodies are really messed up. We're talking, getting fed through a tube and not having much energy messed up. So, right away our premise is bullshit. And it actually contributes almost nothing because she only has someone try to drug her once. The whole conspiracy aspect is also executed in a really petty way with low stakes. It basically boils down to some petty bickering based on a problem someone has, not with someone else but with their parents. Because that makes for a fascinating story, someone being petty towards a person because their parents were dicks. Another issue is the pacing. This anime is very slow and so crammed with filler that it could have easily been four episodes instead of twelve. Which makes it really drag. Characters: Here's another major problem with this series. These characters are really bland. You have our main heroine who's designed as an every woman type character aside from her exceptionally rubbish super power. Then we have a bunch of guys who all look very similar and have no real personalities. Which do you like, the blonde one the white-haired one, the red head or the brunette? What's that, there are multiple characters with each of those hair colours? Well, if they had defining personality traits I might be able to tell them apart. They're just such nothing characters I can't be bothered. Art: The biggest issue with the art is that most of these guys barely look different. Like, all the black-haired guys basically look the same. So, I never really know which one I'm looking at until someone says their name. Which is not what you want with your character design. At least the backgrounds are fine. Sound: The acting is basically passable. They got some skilled veterans like Namikawa Daisuke and Sugita Tomokazu. The problem is they just have nothing to work with. They all just get roles like "personality deficient guy # whatever." The music is basically acceptable as well. It's nothing you're apt to track down and listen to on its own, but it basically works. Ho-yay: You'd think with a series that's mostly made up of guys, you'd get a bit of ye olde ho-yay. But for that to happen you need either strong relationships and interactions between those characters, which doesn't happen, or very deliberate ship teasing. Which also doesn't happen. Areas of Improvement: Develop your characters. We don't need over a dozen interchangeable dudes with no personality. It would work better to have a smaller cast with actual development. Lose the magic drug immunity. Not only does this get used all of once, but it's the only part of this series that makes no sense without some magical realism or science fiction shit. Which is just a bizarre decision. Cut down on the padding. This anime is easily three times longer than it needs to be for the main story on account of its long, boring as hell stretches. Final Thoughts: This anime is pretty bad. Characters with no personality combine with a poorly told story, long bits where nothing of value happens. Are there worse anime out there? Yes. But this one is still pretty bad. As such, I rate it at a 3/10.

This show is hot garbage. The biggest issue is the gaggle of "Hot guy" mannequins with NO distinction or personality. To quote another reviewer, @Fia2727, "Men? Blander than the baby powder ... Each character just looks like the same default Sim repainted over and over again with a clown's tampon." I pushed through this, just to see if maybe they would pull it through in the end, but... no... After 12 episodes, I can maybe identify 3 or 4 of them and even then, I have to question if I'm even looking at the right one, or if they are a "good guy," or " suspect." I wasn't sure who was with which agency, who was helping the MC, or hitting on her, cause that was another thing that never went anywhere, LOL! I also didn't like how they treated her. The only exception I have is the bodyguard. He was probably the most unique character in this show. While still being a "Hot guy" he was more of a wild card with a personality to match. The MC was bland and predictable. I'm kind of ok with that if the rest of the cast has personality. It allows the audience to relate with the MC. The story is... ok... Given a different cast or setting, it might have been better. Waist of time. Avoid!

Before watching the enemy I was expecting a good crime drama. The idea of the main heroine being immune to drugs and as part of a drug busting operation seemed interesting to me. Oh how I was wrong. The animation is gorgeous and the soundtrack especially the opening is really good, however the story and characters is a whole other story. The side characters are bland and uninspiring. It is over saturated with attractive guys for the sake of fan service to a point where they all barely have screen time which makes it hard to care or relate to the them. I also can't remember their names or importance because of that issue. The main heroine of the story is bone dry, she just simps and try to sympathize for every dude she can. She lacks personality. Her drug resistance ability the show hypes up is hardly ever used making her useless. The story overall is extremely boring with plot twist that just seem lazy and hard to keep track of because of poor pacing, so it feels like a job to watch it. The ending was garbage and a cop out. This is definitely a skip and the reason why I still remember about this animr is because of the opening I have on my Playlist.

I'm aware this thing came from a game....Never played it. Art: 8 Most of the art is pretty decent. It's pleasant enough to look at. I won't lie that the backgrounds and a female MC in the police force reminds me heavily of Psycho-Pass, but so does the cityscape backgrounds -- the only thing missing is the MWPSB tower and the sci-fi police bots. This is getting an 8 from me though, the food spreads and dessert pics were great, if only they were in front of me on my desk and not on a monitor screen. Sound: 6 OP theme is decently catchy but to be honest, that's the only thing that stands out and what raised this from a 5 to a 6. On the other hand.... the rest of the OST doesn't stand out. The voice actors' actual voice acting is fine, as per Japan's voice acting standard, but the suitability of the voice types to each character can be called into question... Character: 3 Every single character is clocking in as flat. This show's cast is like a set of paint or crayons with a large count of colors. There are technically variety to them in terms of looks and personality, but because there are so many colors, each color fail to be distinct enough from the rest to stand out. What makes this worse is this is a 12 episode show, not a 200+ or 500++ shounen show with the screentime to fully develop and explore each one. Story:3 I started watching this thinking it's a police show... I would be lying if I said this resembles anything like a police show at all. Actually, more accurately, I was 1/3 of the way into the show, and I actually can't identify any mid-tier to endgame villains at all... And, I'm sure some slice-of-life fans will tell me a villain isn't always necessary to make a story good. Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuut.... I beg to differ. This is explicitly labeled as a "mystery", and the PV and everything seems to be marketting this as a police show as a side classification to its roots as an otome game adaptation... or, TL;DR -- this show is effectively plotless for a good junk of the way in. Overall: 5 This thing is just eyecandy. Bishounen boys, lighting effects, and pretty backgrounds, That's about it. I kind of used this as an animated wallpaper on my desktop while I played MMORPGS, lul. The show isn't horrific, I've seen anime that qualify as this. But it is nothing to write home about. Just kinda flat and boring...

So much potential and barely anything interesting of note happens in 12 episodes. The MC is so passive she often only repeats words said by one of the men in question form, as if the men need to explain everything to her. For an agent she is very, very incompetent at her job overall, let alone the 'scouting' she does is actually just befriending people instead of persuading them like a professional. There are too many people all at once to actually get to know a few of them better than I know my own neighbours. The visuals and voice acting are great, but the story, the character development, they really need work.
