This is the best thing I've ever watched as a whole anime fan. This is it, everything in one movie. What else is there to say? A complete-perfect movie to sum up an astonishing series that is Gintama. It really is rare for popular animes to pull off good endings but this one takes the cake up there in the anime greats. Perfect comedy, perfect action, and a perfect execution to summarize the series. The pacing is well done and the animation and visuals are god-tier. A 10/10 Masterpiece easily, I'm glad I watched Gintama! Nobody else but this series can make you laugh so hard then cry just minutes later. Sorachi's storytelling is PEAK. Farewell to you odd jobs. You will forever live in my heart and soul. Thank you sensei.

It's done. It's over. I do not know if I'm going to be alive for when One Piece ends, but I can at least have some inner peace that Gintama, the one and only anime I rate 10/10, the one anime I've rewatched despite hating rewatching anything, the one anime I've been doggedly following since 2014...is finally over. For such a long running series, to actually have the entirety and more adapted is a dream come true, on the big screen as well, with a movie budget and animation to boot! Rip Zenzo's VA, I was wondering why his voice was different. Truly, the ending was as good as I would have imagined. Wow, just watching action sequences with real animation budget brought tears to my eyes. No more one frame action scenes; there were actual well choreographed ones in this movie. The resolution of the movie is symbolic and not cheesy. It's the culmination of the final series of serious story arcs and a final closing of loose story threads. It's a fitting ending, and the final fight, an extremely clever way of showing Gintoki and Takasugi's journey throughout the entire series, struggling to save Shoyo while defeating Utsuro. Gintama is one of the few, if not only shows that is able to have humor and serious story elements blend into something special. While other shows might have contrasting and jarring attempts of humor with a bland joke based on an overused and over embellished character trait and then awkwardly transition to a serious fighting scene unsuccessfully, Gintama is able to do actually execute on the humor and action, switching from lighthearted to sombre tone within a few scenes of each other. It doesn't feel out of place, and certainly does not dampen the mood. I've begun to realize that it's just Gintama's style, one that I've not seen replicated once in the other shows I've watched. A good example of a comedy show trying to do serious plot arcs and failing is Binbougami Ga! While the characters in Binbougami Ga were funny, in the end, there was no sense of tension in fights since most, if not all the time, the characters got power ups or got defeated due to random plot devices and elements that did not make sense. It drew away any sort of anticipation of the fight happening. This does not happen in Gintama. While a comedy show, most of the characters have their distinct fighting styles and don't just randomly gain power ups. Their skillset and personalities fight serious fights well, and as a result, it does not seem jarring when these characters end up in high pressure fights. I mean after all, Gintama is a series that features warrior races such as Yato, samurai, Shinobi, and various other Amanto and martial arts users, so it makes fights involving them interesting. The wide cast of characters allows for many different story arcs, settings, and scenarios, and its the charm point. There are so many avenues of approaching a plotline because of the wide cast of characters available that nothing gets old. Sure, some characters are a bit old fashioned and archetypal when you get to it (Sarutobi the main example), but I'll glance over these side characters because the main cast of characters, namely, Shinpachi, Kagura, and Gintoki are an amazing trio and everything that they're involved in and interact with bring the entire scene to life with a lot of variety and laughter. It's not just the main characters, but the vast majority of the side characters are amazing. Hijikata, Katsura, Takasugi, Hasegawa, etc, they're so many good side characters that anything involved with them brings a smile to my face. The creative and wide setting also allows for a lot of different scenarios. Futuristic world with basically any avenues of pursuit: space ships, samurai duels, robots, idols, and even world ending battles in order to kill immortal beings. Gintama's entire plot is how Gintoki, Shinpachi, and Kagura will take on any job for money. There's so much freedom that Gintama brings to the table, and it's got so much variety that the 300+ episode run never felt stale or boring, and that also has a lot to do with its mixture of comedy and story elements. Gintama features so many different story arcs, some very serious, especially near the end, while others are a lot more fun and light hearted, and they're all great. Some arcs are just completely silly scenarios, and some are just one shot episodes featuring an "odd job" that Gintoki and the gang were assigned to, and those episodes too, can be depressing or make you laugh until you cry. But I'll be honest here: Gintama's sense of humor and comedy is the main reason why I love this series. I loved the ending arcs, but some had worse quality than others. The final arc and conclusion was the best ending I've watched for a long running shounen show, but I do have to admit that some of the events in certain arcs, like in the farewell shinsengumi arc or Rakuyou decisive battle were a bit weird and weak, while Shogun assassination arc and Silver Soul arc were great. In the end, there are anime that have better stories and serious plotlines than Gintama, but the driving force of the show, in the end, is the comedy. No matter how much characterization, drama, and plot actually happens, Gintama's always been able to inject its humor into the scenario, no matter how serious it was. It's hard to explain why I love the comedy. it's varied, has a bunch of different characters involved, and there's always lots of parodies and references to old games and pop culture. No matter what the comedy is, it's always as varied as the characters and it always surprises you with what's going to happen next. Voice acting is spectacular. There are so many iconic voice actors. Gintoki's VA played Jojo, but in my heart, whenever I hear his voice, it's always Gintoki. Something about that voice really fits Gintoki's personality, and the voice acting's execution in the humor sequences are always spot on. Shinpachi, a blander voice, but is excellent tsukkomi material. Hijikata: I can recognize Zoro's VA anywhere. Kagura, Katsura, Hasegawa, Zenzo (RIP), they all bring the animation medium to life that the manga cannot replicate. It truly is able to ascend to a different level, rather than just a copy of its source material with the voice acting. In the end, despite Gintama being my favorite, there are flaws. If you don't like the humor: say no more, it sucks. On the other note, animation in Gintama usually sucks too. Looking back at it, I've never seen another show with so much action and fighting have such crappy fighting scenes, even in the most recent silver soul arcs in 2018. You're also going to have to sit through a lot of "filler" content where it's just comedy episodes or odd job arcs, but I hold those dear to me as one of my favorite parts of the show. Even the anime original filler! I write this with a sense of sending off this show off my chest. Thank you Gintama, for making my laugh when I needed it. You have and always will be my favorite show.

This movie is by no mean anything short of a perfect ending to Gintama. I have spent all of those years since the last Gintama's season not wanting to watch it since I didn't want it to end no matter what. But after watching it it was everything I want it to be. The music was awesome, story and comedy was on point. I spent 4 hours to watch a movie that last less than 2 because I constantly stop to laugh, to bawl my eyes out, to re watch some scene, check for easter egg, etc. It was the only movie/series where I actually feel good about its open ending. No doubt my most beloved movie from here on out. Honestly, never in a millions years would I have guess that I will ever find an anime movie that beat my previous favorite Kotonoha but here I am.

This is a really good show. I am really happy and sad too because the show just ended. I don't want to end the show, I feel kind of sad and happy too. There are not a lot of fillers, which makes it even better. The story is really good. I like the arcs. There are funny arcs and sad/action arcs. They balance the comedy and the action. and the characters are really good. I like how Shinpachi ruins a joke when Gintoki makes a joke and ruins it, and the other characters are funny with different personalities. I really like it.  The sound is really good. The op and ed are that fire is good. Story:10 Art:9 Sound:9 Character:10 Enjoyment:10 OVERALL:10 Thank for making this story Sorachi, Hideaki.

It's hard to believe that the original anime started over 15 years ago and was finally coming to an end. Gintama was so incredibly unique with it's very meta comedy, characters and setting. What made it an amazing series was how good it was at doing comedy stories and serious stories while blending both together. Gintama the final adapts the final arc of the manga and puts it into a movie format. It has all the qualities that make Gintama great and gives the fans a satisfying conclusion to the story. However, the movie does end up feeling more like a half season anime show than a movie. It would've been nice if they went a bit more out in terms of animation quality. Overall, It's nice to have a completed series that stuck the landing. There will probably never be a series like Gintama and I am glad I've watched it!

Finally done with watching Gintama. 367 episodes, 5 movies and at least 10 special episodes. This is definitely the longest anime series I have ever watched through my 342 entries. And this movie definitely was an ending. The way it evolved, the only thing I'll remember about Gintama is that I used to watch it. The movie would have been insulting if it came out before the Silver Soul Arc but, the thing is it came after. My expectations were mostly met, which is something despite having no expectations. The final fight against Utsuro was ungodly pretentious. When Sorachi first came up with the whole faking events to trap the viewer, I was looking forward to where it would go, but now it's safe to say I don't want to see this storytelling device used anymore. The ending was fine, and the production was improved, which is expected from the movie format. Overall this movie had no interest other than showing the overhaul of the author's fursona.

This is a review of the entire series not just "Gintama: The Final" I only started to watch Gintama in November of 2021, While the series concluded in January of 2021. I haven't been a fan for a while but this series is seriously phenomenal. STORY Gintama doesn't really have a story since it is episodic, but there are arcs put within the series, most of them are very entertaining and funny. But the last 70 episodes I consider to be a story so I'll talk about them. The last 70 episodes are in my opinion, the best part of the series . Not going into spoliers but, I love the character interactions and the fights are the best series it can get pretty sad at some points as well. Overall I'd say 10/10 on the story. ART The art for the first 200ish episodes was pretty weak. I wouldn't say it was bad but the fluidity wasn't great. Not that big of a deal because the anime is about comedy not really art. But after 200 episodes the art gets very solid and everything looks great. The movies look phenomenal with all of the effects. Overall 7/10. SOUND The soundtrack itself is good. Not much to say about it, some pretty catchy tunes. But the openings and endings are peak. 90% of the openings and endings are bangers so that's definitely a plus. Overall 9/10 CHARACTERS The cast of characters in Gintama is the best cast of characters in any anime period. My favorites gotta be, Gintoki, Tagusugi, Kagura, and Shinpachi. If I can remember all of the main cast/main supporting characters that means everyone is memorable. The cast compliments each other very well and all of the relationships make sense and all have some sort of backstory. Easily the best in shonen/comedy. Overall 10/10. ENJOYMENT My enjoyment of Gintama does fluctuate a lot during the show. Episodes 60-150 where pretty difficult to get through and I wasn't really into the comedy at first. I really only started to enjoy Gintama after the original series. But once I started liking this show I LOVED every moment, comedy was pretty funny and the fight scenes got even better for me. Overall 9/10. OVERALL SCORE 10/10. This is my favorite anime of all time even if there are some things that aren't the best about the show.

This will mark my first review for an anime, and what a fitting first for a more than masterful end to a series which when I first heard of, I thought it was nothing but an over hyped parody anime with humour that only a child would find funny. I can thankfully say that I was completely wrong and in fact, this was one of the most enjoyable shows I’ve seen. Story The story was in my opinion the third best in gintama, only beaten by the shogun assassination and farewell shinsengumi. The recap was the best I’d seen in any anime or show without a doubt, and stayed true to the parody side of gintama. Art The art was without a doubt the best of all the show. I don’t think anyone good really disagree and still keep a valid point other than nostalgia or love for the older art. It was more than beautiful and I can say with confidence that it felt better in many areas than even the praised Demon slayer movie. Writing The writing was as good as any of the gintama seasons and in many areas better. It didn’t trail in areas unnecessarily and kept good pacing which didn’t make it feel tire some. Characters One of if not the best part of the movie was the characters. They are probably one of the best designed and written characters in anime and are the ones that I will remember the most. Conclusion Overall this movie and the series in general was a blast to say the least. Though it may not be my favourite, it is definitely the one that will likely stick to me the most especially with how re-watchable it is. There were a few episodes I skipped over the series and now that I’ve watched the “for now” finale, I can return to those episodes and enjoy what the series has left me. To anyone who is reading this and has not watched the series, I highly recommend it to you. Many may have trouble getting into it with its slower start, but come time those episodes will be some of the most enjoyment you can have with the series. It always stays true to what it is and doesn’t spew any ridiculous messages or symbolism that many other popular shounen or anime in general like to do. It is one of a kind and will always be a show that one can relax to, with the joy of the amazing characters brightening your day.

Quick Thoughts: Solid ending to an amazing series. Story: This movie wraps up the conflict around Utsuro and the accumulation of Altana. This takes up about an hour, and is for most part serious outside of a couple joke sequences. The rest of the movie is basically an epilogue, told from the perspective of several different characters. The ending itself is fine, think they wrapped up everything that was important. I thought the story was ok overall. I wasn't that invested into this arc during the anime, but I thought movie did well with it's pacing, and was pretty easy to follow. Art: As usual with movies, the art and animation saw improvement from the rest of the anime. It's really noticeable in the fight scenes, which are much more dynamic than before. There was a sequence with Utsuro where I thought they did a good job displaying the confusion he was going through to the viewer visually. Characters: In comparison to the anime, I thought they a better job focusing in on the more plot relevant characters, rather than trying spread the spotlight on the huge cast Gintama has accumulated. Other side characters do make cameos, but they're fairly and don't distract too much from the main focus. Enjoyment: I enjoyed this movie overall, and I think if you were a fan of the more serious arcs of Gintama, you'll probably enjoy this more than I did. It's a bittersweet considering this seems to be the actual conclusion, but I do think it was a good enough ending for one of my favorite series of all time.

the ultimate gintama movie is actually a good movie. maybe those who have just watched the final part will be confused by the story because the film is a continuation of the previous anime (Gintama season 1 to Gintama.: Shirogane no Tamashii-hen - Kouhan-sen, then Gintama: The Semi-Final) but what I want to emphasize is that this film and other series from Gintama are anime with the shounen genre which is different from other shounen anime. this anime teaches us how to live as human beings who are useful to others even though they don't have future dreams or what they want to be remember to take lessons from this gintama movie and other gintama series of course a good lesson for us

1st place Gintama !! I didn't know I would like this anime so much. It gave me comedy, action and drama..it never failed to make me laugh and it never failed to shed tears The scene of Gintoki and Takasugi is the greatest in 2021 this scene is so painful I haven't gotten past it yet When Katsura was helping Gintoki and Takasugi in childhood too this scene was so beautiful, this trio is so great The female characters are great even though I don't like Otae very much but after I finished the anime, "Tsukyo,Nobume,Kagura" they are the best and Sachan I like it but her love for Gintoki and her strange scenes makes me annoyed by this but if we see her away from her love for Gintoki if the writer makes her a mission She is amazing

I love this show so much. The finale was all the I could ask for as a gintama fan. It has brought me so much joy and laughter while making me care and love its characters. It is a show that has grown so much from its beginnings that there is no way to describe it other than that it is truly a masterpiece. Sorachi finally ended his work and there is nothing more rewarding than following Gintama from its very start all the way to now. This is a show that is more than just chaotic jokes and brainless action. It is always self-aware of what the show is and it always delivers the best storylines when it gets serious and the funniest moments when its light. There will probably never be another show like Gintama which is what truly makes it unique and there is nothing that embodies shonen more than Gintoki's silly day to day life. Gintama for life!!

Outstanding conclusion to an incredible show. Perfect balance of humour, character and story. This movie captured my emotions and at the same time filled me with laughter as I was watching it. The art was magnificent and contained the right colour/lighting. However, I would have loved for this movie to be a little longer. I would love to come across a series like Gintama in my lifetime if possible. Thank you Hideaki Sorachi for this masterpiece. I recommend this anime more than any other. It's a slow start but you will love the journey you will experience per episode you watch.

I can't believe Gintama is actually, truly over. Even when I finished the manga, I had this film to look forward to, and now it's all completed. It's such a bittersweet feeling to have seen this amazing series through to the end. I'm not gonna gush about Gintama itself, but I will say this series was an absolute honor to take part in. Let's get into the film and talk about how this incredible story came to an end. So, in case it wasn't a given, the art is absolutely gorgeous for this final film. More than that, though, the animation and camera work were really well done, too. Whether it was the angle of the camera, the cuts between shots, or anything else, it felt like watching a live-action blockbuster film. I also want to point out the use of sound in this film because it was insanely good. Intense moments were either accompanied by intense music or dead silence, and that effect and contrast was so damn cool. It made every bit of emotion in the story stand out tenfold. Speaking of emotion, let's talk about that because I was absolutely blown away. It wasn't as though I didn't know what would happen throughout the story, as I read the manga, but the delivery of it in the film was so powerful. The seiyuu did an amazing job, the sound design did its work, the animation and editing came together beautifully--I was astounded by how much emotion was exuded in the final product. I guess I shouldn't have been considering Gintama has always been the best in the business at delivering emotional stories, but hey. The pacing of emotional content is really difficult to pull off, and Gintama: The Final, not only pulled it off, but excelled in it. As far as the rest of the film goes, I found it to be a good blend of Gintama-brand comedy and major story developments. You got the crackhead start, and the crackhead ending, with all the amazingly intense and emotional bits in the middle. It was such a feel-good film to watch because it felt like coming home to this story, coming home to these characters. It highlighted the importance of appreciating where you are and not forcing change. The end of Gintama really compiled all the wonderful things it has taught over the years with the things that made us all laugh and cry in equal measure. I'm so glad to have finally gotten the opportunity to see the end of this story in an animated format because Gintama really does deserve all the attention and love in the world for how amazing and special it is within the Shounen genre. Every comedy episode, every arc, every major story piece meant something to this final film, and any fans of Gintama should be pleased with how it all comes to an end. Nothing is unsatisfying, nothing is not worth the time it takes to experience it. I'm not planning on leaving this story behind, but I've now closed the book on it to open it again down the line when I need a story to lift my spirits. Thank you, Gintama, for giving us everything and more. ありがとう, 銀魂.

A closure finally! Gintama had it rough during the last arc. Everything seemed rushed, the story was confusing and the animation was bland. It almost ruined my memories to the point where I thought it will never recover, yet Sorachi was able to do the impossible by creating a magnificent and flawless finale, and keeping Gintama in our memories as one of the best Animes ever. Thank you Soratchi & All the team who worked on this masterpiece, you really did an outstanding job! I am looking forward to see other works from Sorachi and all the team, though I think that is not gonna happen since they will be busy playing Sekiro lol.

At this point of watching Gintama, there is but disappointment, regardless of what they had to offer. What to be presented in this film is all of the expectation you had on Gintama. From forced melodramatic moments and bloody fight scenes to overly used dirty jokes and parody of their own production staffs. Still, for those who are unfamiliar with the series tend to be indifferent since this film is heavily contextualized from the main story (specifically the latest part of silver soul arc). The same goes to some of the jokes and quirkiness of each characters that are mostly common for the enthusiasts. Nonetheless, the momentum of the hilarity throughout the film is undoubtly able to put laughters in any audience. In production wise, they seem to slack off at certain parts. As there are some visible lack of framing and poor conducts of choreography in earlier action scenes (that may be to compensate for much crucial scenes). For instance, the film has one of the coolest fight sequence that includes multiple intervals of previous significant scenes from the series whilst having shaking upper body stills for mass running scene. Fortunately, this issue is hardly distinguishable in comparison to the quality of the whole film and bothers little to none. For the last time of seeing the repetitive gags and dynamic interactions between the casts, truly makes it worth to experience such a great world of Gintama. Thank you, Gorilla san.

I prioritize enjoyment no matter how depressing or whatsoever, any anime that makes me feel something is easily 10/10 (ehem Daily Lives of Highschool Boys). I'll be honest I never smiled this much over a show. I HAD SO MUCH FUN WATCHING THIS!! I'm hyped for every battle scenes thinking "that's a lot of movements, what about the budget??!!" Gintoki's complaints about the animation and the staff all throughout the 300+ episodes grew on me. This is Gintama, of course it'll never be bad and I'm glad that my expectations are met with the unexpected transitions. Gintama has a knack of having almost everyone move unlike other animes, which is amazing considering those little details are highly appreciated with the gag of "no funds". It just fits. You can tell the whole Gintama team are passionate (I don't wanna spoil just in case but I totally forgot about the ending segment bits, I'm very grateful they added that and made me remember) SLIGHT SPOILERS... I guess? It blows my mind how fun this is and that battle with Utsuro!! THAT'S NEW TO ME, ALL THOSE TRANSITIONS ARE HEAVEN TO MY EYES. I've never seen that kind of visualization. I know I'm not the only one who's blown away. Everytime I watch Gintama it feels great to let loose and let the feelings get to me, laugh with them, cry with them, get angry, disgusted, embarrassed- Gintama makes me feel genuinely. And I genuinely love the movies, especially this one. This is my new favourite. I'm getting repetitive but only in Gintama that I enjoyed everything. Every frame even. It can't compete with Violet Evergarden but for me, I appreciate their efforts plus it adds to their charm. It looks good enough, I can't even see it properly since I'm laughing so much with my internal monologues. I'm screaming inside, I'm so hyped!! My heart's beating so fast from beginning to end, the anxiety, happiness, sadness- my heart won't relax at all until I saw [SPOILERS AHEAD] Tama. Part 3 with Tama calmed my heart that it's really over and I must accept that. This is the only movie that I know being considerate about it being the Final, I can say I'm satisfied... typical way for Gintama to truly end. They gave us all in just one movie, like they're making sure we won't have complaints XD I know that some will first think the part 3 are dragged out- that's what I thought too when I switched to being critical but then a minute after I really think that it's just Sorachi, Director and the whole team being considerate in giving a not-so-empty ending. Congrats to them, they delivered it well for someone usually stoic like me. I can't believe it. SPYAIR is like Gintama branded at this point lol... they complete each other, I wouldn't ask for another band, I mean anyone is good in their own way but SPYAIR/DOES/TommyHeveanly9 captures Gintama really well. Don't take me wrong SPYAIR on it's own is good, but personally Gintama + SPYAIR is better. (Basically Gintama openings and endings are the best) moving on... TL;DR : It was a hell lot of fun and I'd rewatch it again (after rewatching some of the older episodes... I miss Gintama!!) I'm glad to be back and I'll surely add this as a reason why Gintama is my top 1 anime of all time ^^ Thank you everyone for bringing Gintama to life, domou arigatou Sorachi-san!

I would say that this was a perfect closure to the series, despite the fake ending scams and stuff like that. This film had a solid mix of comedy, drama, and action and definitely had a lot of heart and soul put into it. It honestly felt like the pure essence of Gintama, so I would say this was an almost perfect film. One of my main complaints would be having some chars like Tsukuyo get some more time to shine instead of Otae, but considering the size of the cast I felt that no one really got left out who needed to be here. However, I would say that it is slightly worse than the second movie in terms of overall enjoyment. Still a solid 10 for me though

Nothing has been a better experience as Gintama! I can tell that much with confidence. The laughs, the heartbreaks, the badass moments, it was all a wonderful journey. Gintama was a really good life lesson. "Nothing Lasts Forever, Including Parents, Money, Youth, Your Room, Dress Shirts, Me, You, and the Gintama Anime" The Final was iconic and epic to its peak, outstanding animation and a good ending(for Gintama at least). As much of epic it was, Gintama isn't Gintama without its ability to change the entire mood from serious to funny in a split second, which is what i absolutely respect about Gintama. 10/10. My absolute favorite anime, and i doubt anything would ever come close to what vast of a place Gintama holds in my heart, my very silver soul. Definitely going to re-watch the entire anime. Farewell Gintama! You were the best.

Gintama is finally over, and with its end, it leaves an unbridgeable void in the hearts of fans around the world. However, with an incredible ending to say the least. The film from a technical point of view is perfect. Impeccable animation, direction, and script. A great merit is the management of the most important scenes, such as that of the final battle, and the various ost inserted at the right time and in the right scenes, which arouse only summers and emotion in the Viewer. What can I say, a perfect film to say the least, for one of the best anime of the last 20 years, and the best battle shōnen ever.
