A masterpiece. A film that puts the end to the best anime the world has and will ever see. The final for the anime we all tought it was just comedy and made us cry in the most random moments. Perfect ending for this show it was already my top 1 but this has pushed it even higher. The movie is a 10/10 masterpiece and so is the show Gintama The Final Completed Words Cannot Describe how Much I Love this Series Gintoki an Every Single Cast member One of My Favorite anime movies of all Time Gintama is Truly a Masterpiece an I’m going to miss It Thanks Sorachi-sensei. The Yorozuya lives rent-free in my heart.

I am extremely happy, sad and heart warmed simultaniously. i've been in love with this series for just over two years now, even though it feels much longer. it has become such an important piece of media for me and my personality. I cannot fathom the amount of smiles, laughter and tears I have experienced, spread over 353 episodes, multiple ova's and 3 movies, many of which I have watched multiple times. the odd-jobs' have marked a permanent mark of impact on my life and i am truly grateful for that. The moment the first teaser dropped for 'Gintama: The Final' back in August of 2020, I have been nothing but excited for this movie. Today was the day I have been finally able to watch it and I couldn't be happier for how it turned out. Not a single part was disapointing, the pacing was perfect, the throwbacks were a blast to see and the jokes were on point. The only critisism I have is that there wasn't enough Elizabeth in the movie, but that shall be forgiven. Even though Gintama is now over for real, I will still cherish these amazingly well written character from the bottom of my heart. Gintama might not be for everyone, but it definitely was for me. Thank you so much Gorilla-sensei, this has truly been a blessing. I shall rate this move a 10/10. Gilgamesh!

This is really the best thing I've ever watched. Everything was so perfect. If you are a Gintama fan and enjoyed every bit of it, no matter if it was comedy or any other genre of it, you'll definitely love this one. The emotions of this movie gave me so much headache, like srsly only Gintama did this to me once before, but in this movie they just nailed everything man. I love you so much BNP/Sunrise for creating a series that exceeded every high expectation I had, the comedy, the feels, the fight scenes, just everything was more than just a 10/10. I don't care if ppl hate Gintama for skipping the comedy arcs and then hating the "serious" arcs, like just don't watch it if you skip 95% of the anime and then call it trash. What do these ppl expect from 1-2 serious arcs if you don't even know the characters and their bonds. If you just watched gintama for its action and didnt like silver soul arc, don't even try to watch this movie. It's for the fans who loved gintama from the very start, and in silver soul arc the main target audience is obviously the fans who love everything about it. The references to other series (especially dragonball) were so fckn lit and funny... Sorry for my bad english but I just had to get this out. I hope one of the staff members will read this, you guys made a fckn masterpiece which will never replaced by any other type of media. Thank you so much Sorachi, I know it's been long since the manga ended but still, thank you so much.

It was a crazy ride! I remember watching the earlier episodes on TV repeatedly because that’s the only season bought by the local network. I watched everything again recently and today’s the conclusion. The Finale movie was just the perfect ending for me. It wasn’t too bizarre, the plot wasn’t too forced to create an ending. Though if I were to choose, I’d say the second movie was more thrilling because it was has a different storyline. It was definitely worth watching and I wasn’t pissed off or frusrated with the outcome. It was like a great big good bye from a dear friend I’ll probably never see again. The memories will remain and the comedy will definitely pull back the falling tears. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much because I felt that it was going where it was headed. I was just eager to watch it because the show had a huge impact on me that I’d send it off. Overall, it was a great watch. Great enough that I wish, somehow, there will be more. Art & Sound I’d say the animation and character art weren’t that very impressive. While the entire series was not exactly the best in those fields, the art here was just kind of different than usual that I can’t help notice it at the beginning. Or maybe that’s just me missing the old art that I came to get used to. Sound wise—the music was great! But idk about dear nostalgia, but I felt that it could’ve been better with some old legendary Gintama OP songs. Ah! I’m wishing Shinsengumi Trio, Umebouzu and Kamui, and Madao had a few more scenes, mainly for action and comedic reliefs. But I guess that’s a movie constraint/disadvantage. There could have been more scenes if it was made into a season but I guess that didn’t work out. Still it’s a wild watch! Definitely still one of my top fave series and something I will rewatch and rewatch again. Thanks, Sorachi-Sensei!!! 10/10 P.S. but how did Catherine become such an oldie?????

….. Absolutely speechless!! After watching just shy of 400 eps of greatness you would think the best of gintama has already gone by but even still this final movie is the greatest anime movie I have watched - gintama has been so incredible and been a genuinely great experience - the actual show took my first spot for top anime spot but the movie also took the top spot for my fav anime movie - going from the plot to the animation it’s absolutely jaw droppingly gorgeous - I have never shed tears like I did during this movie other than obviously sad tearjerker stuff but this movie was gut wrenching for me - being so invested and absolutely every character the boat scene and the ending of gintama was just unbelievably beautiful and left me stunned for a while after - never again will I experiance something so peak and this movie and anime in general left an incredibly huge void to fill

Gintama goes above and beyond in so many ways that it's difficult to convey, let's get out of the way the obvious because i'm not an expert of the animation front, if something looks pretty and fluid i call it good animation and if the songs are cool, i call the bangers, Gintama The Final has nice visuals and a lot of bangers but the juice of Gintama isn't there, the series is about characters and themes and i want to take a semi deep dive into them from the first chapter to this movie. We can separate Gintama into two big portions that everyone knows at this point, the comedic episodes and the story arcs when Takasugi makes it's usual moves and wants to destroy the world, keep that line in mind because i think it's really important the meaning of what appears as an edgy one liner that the show sometimes pokes fun off. As a lover of different mediums i need to say a lot of things about Gintama and one of them is that is probably one of the most important pieces of modern media that tackles a lot of important topics while not being overly serious about them yet conveying cool messages for everyone, i suck at english so i'll list them to make it easy for me, sorry for the stroke. Individuality and Community The most important themes for me are these two, conveyed in almost every chapter Gintama show us that in the modern world of capitalism what we need the most is a community of strong willed people you can trust and it makes a sincere point because the main and supporting cast are those shunned by society, those who the world forgot and think it's okay of them to be like that but Gintama doesn't forget, Gintama gives the spotlight to them. Prostitutes, homeless, queer folk, everyone that society tries to hid of the public eye takes a main role. For example we have an arc where one of the characters deals with the extreme pressure of gender identity, one of my main gripes with the original series is that sometimes the jokes about certain character fell flat because well, i don't really like jokes about trans people but Sorachi as a writer and as a person with time tackled the theme with due respect for everyone, Dekkoboko shows that no matter what, gender at the end of the day is just a label, the important thing is loving yourself and that everyone respects your decisions about yourself. Another example is the main theme that the story tries to convey, people doesn't need to be ruled by a shogun or by any power, people are their own shoguns, society can work because the community has to be based on taking care of the others and helping them, that's what the Yorozuya is, something that serves as a good plot device but at the same time is a pillar of the themes of the series. Helping others fulfill your soul, having something to defend fills people with confidence, Kabukicho isn't just a location, it's one of the characters. You learn to love the place where you live, no matter how flawed it is, the people that lives there trying to make a good place out of it is the soul of every village, city. No ruler can say it different, what makes people what they are is the context where they live, we have no need of rulers, we need to help each other out no matter the social position they are in, everyone is the protagonist of their own story. Destroying the world as Takasugi said, isn't something bad at the end of the series, it's the manifestation of destroying old ideals that keep dragging society down and people to the feet of awful governors that are full of power, in destruction there is beauty, the beauty of seeing the next day as the dawn of a new world before us. Teachers and students Gintama showed me what i want to study, what i'm studying actually, Shoyo showed me that teachers can be cool because they have one occupation, helping others to find themselves while finding themselves in the journey, being a teacher is a journey that every adult has ahead, no matter the occupation you have, there is someone out there trying to learn something from you and that's one of the themes about the series that i love so much. Episode 147 "Every adult is every children's instructor" conveys this idea perfectly showing us that no matter what the adults of the cast said, the best advice to young people is that you will help them along the way but finding a path is up to them, our job as adults is helping them to not falter and being there for them and theirs to sometimes hear a wise voice. "If they each carry their own bushido in their hearts, they can each become their own samurai. Doubt yourself, lose your way and become the kind of samurai you want to be..." The Final I have so many things to say about the series, how it handles Gintoki's depression for example is one of my favorite things but i want to get dinner so i'm short of time, hot dogs are cool. Watch Gintama, think about it as something more than a parody series, i think it has a lot more to say than 90% of the shonen published on the Jump, if you like those themes i recommend you Fire Punch written by Tatsuki Fujimoto, it deals with a lot of the same themes. Gender, Education, Identity, Depression. That's all i wanted to say, if you liked my review or want to talk about it message me, i like to talk about those things. Oh, by the way, i don't like to use numbers so i give Gintama a It helped with my life out of ten

This movie.... just broke me. What a finale! After so many trolls and pranks, I so wish it had been one too. The OSTs are just indescribable. Does and Spyrair on sound!!!? It's an attempted murder at this level. I'm trying to be objective but I still can't conceive it. Everything is a 10/10. The synopsies, the comedy, the drama, the direction and the conclusion...just absolutely everything. Gintama has been building all along its +360 episode and today it's coming back like a boomerang and it hurts like hell. I got so attached to these characters and their universe, that seeing their conclusion leaves me with a huge feeling of emptiness. I would love to erase it from my memory so I can start over. HUGE BIG UP to the guy in charge of the art direction of the ending. I've almost never felt so nostalgic. Anyway watch Gintama and thank you Sorachi for this masterpiece

What can I say? I had high expectations for this movie but my goodness its exceeded all of it by a mile It has everything. Brilliant comedy, jaw dropping action scenes, sad moments, and moments in general that will send shivers down the spine of any gintama fan. Although the stakes may not be as monumental as the one in the beginning of the silver soul, that doesn't mean that the movie disappoints. It is the perfect way to end an anime like Gintama. its very hard to describe adequately with words what I was feeling during the movie, so I'll leave it at that. But it is so apparent that the movie was made with heart and soul by people who loved the anime as much as the fans did. The minor yet beautiful details, the fights (I won't spoil), the comedy, and the insane amount of homage to things like the gintama OPs and endings (in an emotional end credits scene), and the absolutely breathtaking animation, it is the perfect ending to what I'd say is the best Shonen anime in existence.

I came for the comedy and stayed for the story. Though I still stayed for the comedy, of course. Gintama was both heartbreaking and captivating, wholesome and evil, funny and gloomy, cunning and simple. And this ending was the best for a comedy anime-- an appropriate one, if I may say so, since it leaves you quite satisfied with how things were wrapped up yet you also feel this pang in your chest as you realize that this is it; this is how it ends and we're not getting any more content after this. That pang, if I liken it to an emotion, may seem like homesickness for me. Gintama gives you that homey vibe that you feel whenever you watch an anime and stayed with it too much that you kinda wanna break the wall from 3D and come join them in their 2D world. Gintama's characters, from the main trio, shinsengumi, and kabuki-cho fam down to the side characters who do not show up much in the show-- they all make up this interesting world of the past and the present, both in the literal sense of the anime's setting of Edo and futuristic influence of amanto, and also in the sense of time, with its flashbacks and time-skips. Each of them is important, and I just love how saving Edo isn't just as fun and complete without the whole gang-- and by "gang", I mean everyone. The only reason I gave this a nine, though I certainly think it also deserves a 10 (is it so ironic if I rated every aspect a 10 but overall it's a 9 xD), is because I kinda wanna see how life turned out for everyone, I guess. Did the characters build a family of their own? If so, did they still stay in Yorozuya, in shinsengumi, or in their respective roles from Gintama before? I sure do hope Hasegawa has evolved from being a madao. Also, if there was an after story or epilogue, I might just want to see my otp end up together for real xD I know this route may be tricky since not everyone has the same opinion on how they want things to end in the show, but yep, just my two cents. I also understand how shows in comedy genre usually don't really go down that road. Anyways, I'm here reviewing the final part but I have yet to watch the Benizakura movie. And I will make sure to scour every content I may have missed and maybe even read the manga just to check how things may be different from the anime. After that, I'd continue reading their doujins without understanding much of it except the illustrations (damn if only I know how to read japanese, but bless those artists who continue to feed our Gintama-hungry souls), and after that... I don't know how long before I get over this show and find another series. Though, I don't wanna get over this show.

An amazing way to end an amazing series, I'm tearing up after seeing the end of this franchise I love dearly. Gintama stays true to itself to the very end, and this movie feels like a celebration of the series as a whole. I really liked the soundtrack which incorporates some of the series' classic songs in great ways, I even got emotional when DOES started playing. The movie feels well paced to me, I especially liked how they took their time with the epilogue. This movie's quality is consistent with the quality I've come to expect from the series, just with better production quality and pacing due to it being a movie, making it feel like another episode of the show. But if you've seen all the episodes, you'd be foolish to not watch the final of this irreplaceable series. I just wanted to get my feelings out about Gintama, as this series means a lot to me.

I saw this movie originally online by fan-subs then most recently again in theaters. This truly is one of those experiences where I wish I could remove my memories of it just so I can experience it anew. The final battle demonstrated that essentially, Gintama is like an old samurai movie polished to a shining silver for a new era. The voice acting hit it on the nail just right that it brought me to tears. It also helped that SPYAIR once again came back to give their usual phenomenal performance for the soundtrack. The one gripe I think I would have is that after the conflict gets handled it feels a bit drawn out. I understand that it's because there are so many characters that make Gintama what it is but it felt a little too long of an ending segment. If you haven't watched the rest of the series do not watch this without context because both the jokes and the drama won't hit the right spots. It's all about the ending of the journey. But in the end, it still makes you believe that the Yorozuya will always be there.

Gintama: The VERY FINAL. Man. What can I say about a legendary movie to cap everything off? This movie was truly one of a kind. I usually never make reviews for series, especially for series that I love. However, I gotta make an exception for GOATama. I had read the manga after the anime finished their version of the soul arc. Took me a while to watch the two semi-final episodes, but man what a journey. This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a while. I may have been spoiled with the manga (and reading the wiki), but the anime for Gintama is definitely a must-watch regardless of the original source material. The production studio, the voice actors, and everyone else involved in the series actually knows what the vibe of the series is and can actually make great FILLER episodes that match the style of the show. I was honestly kinda prolonging this movie, because well it’s an anime movie for one thing (I generally don't give anime movies a watch unless I really like the series or because of nostalgia reasons) and if I watched it, then I would have had no more Gintama content to consume. Gintama is the only anime with great fillers, amazing comedy, great filler movies, great live-action movies, great anime (that does the manga a ton of justice), great manga, and a great story. Gintama the final was the movie I decided to watch in theaters when it came to my location. I decided to give the first live action movie of this series a try, and it wasn't exactly as bad as I thought it was going to be. I couldn't not watch this movie in theaters. The gorilla, Sorachi sensei, made me care about all these characters that other shounen series would have just left in the background. I mean the glasses had some major development to the point where he acquired a human body. The final still has everything that Gintama was built upon. I mean they started the show out with a DBZ and One Piece reference. The soundtracks that were placed in the movie were phenomenal as well ("Wadachi", "Douraku Shinjou", and "Breakdown" being some of the most hype songs of the series). The “Teach us Ginpachi sensei” as the end to the series with Sorachi as the gorilla was such a Gintama conclusion (I didn’t want to waste pages explaining that). My man, Sorachi, is a genius. Gintama has been my favorite series for years and nothing has ever come close to the level of gold Sorachi created. A part of me is wishing Sorachi would give me the "Oh sorry I didn't know how to end this series. I'll see you guys again with whichever studio would be willing to take this whatever anime next year" Fare thee well GOATama, you will be missed.

I finally had the chance to watch Gintama: The final and I am lost for words. It is finally over, the story I had been following for so many years is finally over, the chapter is done and in my opinion, it couldn't have been better than this. The story gets completed in such a good way, finally we see the end of it. Of course this movie is the perfect combination of laughter and a lot of emotions, good and bad, thank you so much for this! The animation was very good, not only during the fighting scenes but also during the whole movie. This movie was the perfect way to end this amazing saga!

Out of all the Japanese anime I have watched in my life and manga I have read, none have ever in my life quite been the holder of all time favorite (and for me, best of all time) quite as solidly as Gintama. The comedy-drama combining shounen action, science fiction meets chanbara hybrid satirizing anime and manga storytelling is all encompassing of it's genre types to create a story that's hilarious, heartfelt, engaging and exciting through and through on all aspects. And it ends here on an absolute brilliant note, in adapting the final arc and chapters to this well directed, superbly animated, funny, gripping, emotionally investing, and exciting final chapter. I'm going to miss the Odd Jobs Trio and the whole ensemble so much. This movie adaptation of the final chapters hit me just as hard as reading the final chapters.

I just got done watching it, and genuinely loved it. I really didn't know Bandai had it in them with the best animation Gintama has seen ever. Fluid, and very well structured fights, with an improved art style. I'm a Gintama fan, and this is the first time I'm writing a review, but fuck, they did the finale justice. Don't want to go into too much details, but I was crying the entire movie (bittersweet). All in all, seemed like they packed in quite a bit into the movie, could have paced it slightly better, but it genuinely, made some manga moments better, fleshing it out and making it more impactful. Story is definitely a 10 for me, Characters as usual a 10. Sorachi has his way with words and people. Animation is definitely amazing. Certain moments in the middle, was kind of confusing to me (Tama), but the fucking fight with Gin and the transitions! That's the best use of transitions I've seen in an anime. Period. Way better than the Forever Yorozuya movie. If you're a comedy/action anime fan, please watch the series. It has a really good conclusion as well, something a lot of animes can boast about.

This Gintama ending made me emotional. The show peaked for me in the final serious arcs, and I enjoyed every character interaction and gag on-screen. There is something about Gin verbally confirming that he needs Shinpachi and Kagura, and the other bonds in his life to go on which kills me. Humans are social creatures, and witnessing the family that he has built around himself creates for tear-jerking moments. I think Gintama can teach us all about the significance of having family-like friends in our lives. In this short ride on Earth, everyone deserves to experience and reciprocate the kind of love that Gin is blessed with.
