NO SPOILERS I'll keep it simple: if you watched and really liked the first season, you will most likely find this very enjoyable and certainly at least worth watching. There were definitely things that were sped forward a bit, sure, and there can always be improvements - but it was nice to watch and brought a meaningful conclusion to the story of the Grace Field House kids. However: if you read the manga, this will probably do nothing but frustrate you. I can't say I know much about the manga, but I know enough to guess that it won't be worth watching the second season if you have. I liked it, I can understand why others didn't. I understand the annoyance when comparing it to the source, but considering it as a stand alone piece, the story felt right. It's very difficult to get pacing in such a show right, and while it isn't perfect, to anyone who's just watching the anime, it isn't anything extremely bothersome. At the end of the day, whether you approve of the pacing, the storytelling or otherwise - this is a second season worth watching. If you don't end up liking the direction they went in, that's okay and I can completely see why. I liked it, and I would recommend it to at least try.

Having one of the most incoherent stories i've ever seen, the second season of The Promised Neverland will likely go down as one of the biggest disasters in anime history. From cutting entire arcs to completely rewriting the ones they kept, this show was bound for failure. I can't lie, it started off strong. The first few episodes were a pretty faithful adaptation of the manga with a few minor content cuts that didn't really lose much other than a small amount of world building. But then we got to episode four, which is when this ship really did hit the iceberg. And for those of us who continued to watch, it wasn't a pretty sight. In episode four alone, they skipped over 50 chapters, including multiple arcs and the two best characters in the entire series. One of which was a crucial part of the story in that he was the reason for Emma and Ray's character development. This character undergoes so much development in the chapters they skipped and in doing so, changes those around him. Without him, the character development just isn't present in the anime. Remember how I said they rewrote certain arcs and events? Well one scene that, in the manga was a heartbreaking, high-stakes event with villains that you really hated due to their personality and backstory, was changed into an event with practically no stakes whatsoever and villains that seem more like comic relief than an actual threat. And this trend continues in later episodes. Due to them skipping multiple arcs, there was absolutely zero build up to what should've been one of the best parts of the series. It went from being an emotional scene to being just "Oh. Yeah, whatever, that was pretty bad". Like, even people who hadn't read the manga were disappointed with this scene. There are also zero stakes whatsoever in this season. From Emma being told the number one weakness of the demons in episode 3, to the biggest consequence of the ending being completely removed from the story. In the final episode, they tried to cover some of the cut content in a quick three or four minute montage of still images with no dialogue. This was probably the worst way they could possibly have done this. If you didn't read the manga, there is absolutely no way you will understand what is going on here or why it's happening. The worst part is that because of certain arcs being changed or skipped, some of the events in the montage don't make any sense in the anime story. The story just isn't coherent whatsoever. It's like they couldn't decide between whether they should follow the manga or go anime original and instead decided to just alternate between the two repeatedly, while significantly worsening the parts they did follow. And like I said, in the finale the way they tried to cover some of the events they skipped just doesn't work. So Overall, I'd give this season a 1/10. Please, just don't watch it. If you enjoyed the first season and want more, just read the manga. Watching this will just dissappoint you and spoil the best parts of the manga, making them a lot less powerful.

The Promised Neverland 2nd Season is a brilliant achievement of Japanese Television. It is a series that has no reason to exist other than to profit off of unsuspecting fans of the first season. This is the spiritual successor to Tokyo Ghoul: Root A—another anime original sequel that attempted to inflict as much severe pain and suffering on the manga fans as possible. Except, at least that blatant marketing scheme had semi-decent audiovisuals. This sequel follows Female Kirito, previously known as “Emma”. Similar to Kirito, Emma is also the most powerful player in the video game. Rather than using a sword, she has the power of plot armor to protect her from any danger! Getting chased by a demon? She can outrun it. Armed soldiers can’t kill demons with guns? She’ll kill it with a bow & arrow. Instead of getting followed around by a harem, Female Kirito has a bunch of children that go along with anything she says. They have names but don’t worry—you won’t remember them anyway. Previously a character known as “Ray” challenged Emma’s overly idealistic goals. This season he has been renamed to “Hay” because has no weight on the plot and allows Emma to do anything—no matter how stupid she acts. A long-lost friend (who was lost for less than 6 episodes) returns, but he’s actually a bitter Bad Guy now! Shocking! But why is he bad? He explains everything to us because we are incapable of comprehending storytelling—we must be fucking idiots! Just sit back and get spoonfed by one of Season Two’s many iconic exposition scenes: Emma and her harem gather in a non-descript room, and one character stands-up and summarizes 100 chapters of the manga in a five to ten-minute long speech. It’s like karaoke night, but instead of singing, they monotonously read SparkNotes summaries of the manga with no animation whatsoever. Unless you consider a PowerPoint presentation to be animation. The Promised Neverland 2nd Season does not tell a story, nor does it do much of anything. It uses a bunch of unrelated plot points throughout dozens of chapters. Years of time skips pass by in minutes. Then it stitches these barely connected pieces together like a hideous quilt. The entire show rides on how Emma’s feeling today. In one episode she’ll let the kids eat potentially poisonous fish, in the other she’ll happily help a demon with its groceries despite knowing they like to eat children for supper. No matter anything she does, she’ll have either a smile on her face or a slightly concerned expression. I don’t like comparing the adaptation to the manga, but in this case, it is impossible to not notice the differences in art detail and writing quality. All of the passion is drained, turning climactic moments into laughably bad dialogue. Villains double-cross each other in unison like a hive mind being controlled by an annoyed writer. They should have explained the motivations behind everyone’s sudden changes in goals and morality, but that’d require hard work. And lazy writers don't like doing hard work. Why bother adapting three beloved story arcs from the manga—full of battles that would be VERY expensive to animate—when you can just summarize them with a PowerPoint presentation? That's easy money! Strip away the psychological horror, intelligence, atmosphere, and logic that made the original anime so special, and what do you have left? This piece of inane shit. Granted, I am not a huge fan of the original, but it was light-years better than this. The show is dependent upon the demon creature effects but, even in 2D, they are below average at best. It’s remarkable, really. CloverWorks has mastered the art of being lazy, and they should be applauded for that. My instinct is to blame the writers at Cloverworks, but it’s clear from disappearing names in the credits that they did not want to be associated with this colossal dumpster fire. According to interviews, the mangaka co-wrote the anime original story, but that has never stopped a film from being bad. George Lucas co-wrote The Rise of the Skywalker, and George R.R. Martin worked on the clusterfuck that was Game of Thrones S8. Just like those adaptations, The Promised Neverland will go down as one of the greatest declines in writing quality in all of anime history. The last time I saw an anime crash and burn so hard in the final act was Darling in the FranXX. That’s all there is to The Promised Neverland 2nd season. Finishing as quickly as possible to cash a paycheck. Every aspect of it is rushed: The stiff voice performances, the recycled soundtrack is poorly mixed. They reuse the same facial expressions, character animations, background art, and CGI monsters. Even to the untrained eye, it will be obvious the production has cut corners in literally every aspect. If you don’t care about quality and want your intelligence to be insulted, watch this remarkable landmark in anime history. Come along, join these personified potatoes on a journey to rebel against Weekly Shounen Jump by becoming the most profitable adaptation while putting in the least amount of talent & budget possible. A journey which they have failed, apparently, according to the abysmal sales.

This season is so underrated. Everyone likes the first 3 episodes while they hate the rest but honestly the first 3 episodes are the weakest for me and the last 8 are the best. This season does have a lightning speed pace, but I enjoyed it even with that. While season 1 is better, season 2 is still a 10/10 for me. The characters are all amazing to me, and the ending had me sobbing because of spoilers. I have no idea why this season is hated on so badly, when the only bad thing it has is lightning speed pacing. Don't let the majority take away from your experience of this show.

This anime is a crime. To everyone, no matter who it is, this should be banned from sight. I was a huge fan of the first season and it's excellence and caught on the manga as soon as I had finished reading it. When I heard the second season was on it's way, I was excited. I looked forward to Season 2 even when the manga started going south, cutting corners in its writing and overall became a bad manga starting from volume 10. But considering the first season had adapted only 4 volumes, the second season would adapt just the good parts of the manga that were left, right? Yeah. No. This adaptation rewrites what would be volumes 5 through 20 of the manga. You read that right, 15 volumes in 11 episodes, and how, you may ask? By cutting the story into random bits and pieces that would never make sense to an anime only, make some sense to the manga readers since we know the original parts and overall makes for a horrible watching experience. I'll go step by step on why this anime deserves a pure 1, a whole 0 off the first season's score. The story is the worst of The Promised Neverland, but even worse. It took all the bad plot characteristics the manga had on it's second half, augmented them by one hundred, and said " People will love this. " From episode 3 onwards. Everything everyone hated is here. Horrible pacing, villains you don't care about(Like Peter Ratri always was in the manga), characters that receive no development or are made Emma's lapdogs (Ray, Norman after his 10 minutes of being convinced), no stakes overall and Emma's wonderful Talk No Jutsu. The manga was painful to read after Emma acquired her Talk no Jutsu ability, imagine how horrible the anime is after we find out Yuugo isn't even there, on episode 3. Norman shows up after being gone by a whopping hour on the eyes of anime-onlies, becomes a villain for around one episode and then has his mind changed. Oh, nevermind any details on how his overpowered human resistance came to happen- which is a dreadful plot point to begin with. What I'm trying to say is, the story is a trainwreck that makes no sense, is rushed through, and is insultingly incoherent, a complete polar opposite of what the first season had to show. You know what also is the complete polar opposite of the first season? An animation that made me feel physical pain every single episode. I'll tell you, when I saw Emma shoot that bird I was like damn, nice cut bro. Then after what's supposed to be at least four volumes worth of things that happened in the manga is solved in Mirio vs Overhaul fashion- Panning Still screen colored frames. Not even animated, just panning shots of a very low quality drawing: I felt as scammed as a guy who was told the titanic was unsinkable as he was freezing in the north atlantic. This all is to say is: The animation sucks. Like really bad. For the sound department, I think I've heard one or two new OSTs for this season, and they're both okay. Asides from that, both the OP and ED are nice-sounding and fit both in lyrics and tone. However. The lack of new music just shows how little care or love the studio showed for this second season. The opening's animation is lazy and consists of montly still shots or very simple animations. The ending's visuals look good, but hey- they're just trying to fill more time in the 30 minute timeslot they got to air this bad advertisement for a bad manga. If I should even mention what's supposed to be characters in this dumpsterfire sinking ship of a bad anime, I shouldn't. Any character here is bad, even the ones you thought were good in the first season just follow what Emma says at every turn. No one questions her, and Emma just talks everyone to her side. It's bad. Norman's bad, Ray's bad, everyone's bad. Don't watch this. Don't ever watch this. Read the manga up until volume 10 if you want something remotely satisfying to look at. Then never touch The Promised Neverland again past that. I feel bad for buying these people's retail manga because of this anime.

Very few animes are a waste of time. No matter how bad an anime is there is always something to learn from or analyze and appreciate. So here comes the question: what happened? How did an anime with a good first season end up like this? To be fair this anime has great opening and ending songs. The beginning wasn't terrible but the story becomes muddled into a blackhole of bad pacing, rushing plots, and bad decision-making from the studio and production side. The voice actors are also not at fault but you can feel them struggling to bring the characters to life compared to the first season. But what truly becomes meme worthy and baffling is the legendary ending. The ending was a PowerPoint slideshow presentation that really put the lid on the coffin and spit at the series. A clear indication that the season was rushed and undercooked. I doubt that there was anyone in the production side who was truly satisfied with that ending. Or they would be a maniac. If you're going to put something half baked why put it out at all? Well people need to be paid and money was already on the line. Anime production and scheduling is hard and incomprehensible to peasants like us. But still that ending felt unjust to fans and creators. Promise never landed.

so now that's I've finish binged watching season 1 and 2, and I can say that it has recently been the most enjoyable anime I've seen, now coming into season 2, I've heard so much talk about season 2 being the biggest flop in all of anime, and as I getting closer and closer to the end of season 2, I never really seen anything wrong with the anime, since I've only heard bad things about the season 2 but never really finding out why since I didn't wanna spoil myself. after I finished the show, it was amazing, but now that I did my own research and figured out why so many people were hating on second 2, it easy to understand why people would hate on the seasons 2 adaption, if i finished season 1 and I wanted to know more what happened after the anime ended I would definitely read the manga, after reading the manga and having amazing and great arcs anybody would be hyped as a manga reader to see season 2 get a adaption, just to find out that the anime took a entire different approach and ignore the amazing arcs the manga had to offer and gave us a Google slideshow ending and that's it, while people who finished season 1 should watch what happens in season 2, just don't mention season 2 being a thing and reading the manga online

I see a lot of reviews just bashing this season. Honestly it was very well done for being just 11 episodes long, and where they left it we could still see a season 3 although I doubt that will happen with the amount of hate I've been reading. I think the main issue people are having is not realizing that not every detail can make it into anime, and that is true with almost every Manga. My advice for anyone thinking about watching this would be to do with an open mind. If you've read the Manga your going to notice some things that get glanced over. If your just in it for the Anime then I think you'll enjoy almost just as much as the 1st season.

*Review contains spoilers* *Review includes seasons 1 & 2* Note: I really don't understand the low reviews season 2 has on MAL. Even if you disliked something from this season, from 8 to 5, there is much of a difference. But anyway, here I go: Story 9/10 Yes, this story shares similarities with other stories out there. It kept reminding me of Hunger Games, Maze Runner, the 100, and I am sure there is a lot more. However, what I really liked about this anime, and what makes the story fresh to me, is the twist of the human being raised in farms as a product, such as we raise animals for meat. I am not a vegetarian, but this could definitely be an anime that makes you wonder whether you should stay away from meat. Or maybe I just looked too deep into this. But the fact that an anime makes you look at daily life in a philosophical way, tells you how much the story conveys. It's also praise worthy how the anime showcases people's resilience and will to live despite age or adverse circumstances. I would have liked a bit more of explanation on how the demons and the world as it was came to be, but I still think the anime has a great story and pace in the storytelling. It was explained, but I think that explanation could have used a bit more details. I do feel the final episode (season 2) was a bit rushed, something that could have worked better with an additional episode. Also, not that I wanted these kids to suffer any more or longer than they already had, but I feel like the ending was too happy or too perfect? I would have expected at least for Emma, Ray and Norman to stay in the demon world for way longer, not to fix "all problems" in a matter of 5 years at most? Maybe getting back when they were a adults would have made more sense. Art 9/10 I think each character was perfectly designed to match their personalities. Great art. Sound 7/10 I can't really recall anything eye-catching from the sound. However, this is not to say it is bad or deficient. I think that happened because people get too wrapped in the story. Character 9/10 I loved the amount of characters development you get from most characters and the moral dilemmas they faced. I specially want to point out these 3 characters: Ray: he always looked indifferent and like the one who cared the least about others, however, he was always making plans to save someone other than himself or willing to sacrifice his own life to save the others. I loved the plot twist of Isabella being his biological mother and really empathized with him always being aware of what was happening around him but having to keep it cool. I don't think many people (myself included) would be capable of such thing. Norman: a very likable character since day one. So essential for the rest of the kids, that he was the one chosen to be removed from the equation to disable and dissuade the rest of the kids. A brilliant kid because of his capacity to observe, learn and strategize. I was really able to empathize with his suffering, being a lab rat, how he lost his kindness for a bit and his wavering about his motives and decisions. A very realistic approach to his circumstances. Isabella: what a controversial character. Do we love her, do we hate her? Whatever the answer is, one thing is for sure, she suffered a lot, probably lost all hope along the way and became indifferent to the whole system and what it was doing to children. But don't we all sometimes are at fault of acting this way on our daily lives? It is easy to judge when we are not in someone's shoes (not to say she acted in the right way raising this children to be eaten) but I always felt she wasn't completely on board with what was happening. Would I be so quick to forgive her as the children did? maybe not. Worthy mention: Emma to me was the least realistic, the most annoying from all characters. Where did she get all this mercy, perfect world sense from? I am sure there are people capable of seeing the silver lining in every single situation, but wow...never waver or doubt yourself? an 11 years old? that is hard for adults, imagine a child. Just not believable that this person could be that way all the time, all day every day. I felt she kept getting lucky because of the people she had around her. She didn't really think things through before jumping to a decision. Yes, she has a kind heart and yes, things turned out the way they did because of that and her decisiveness to do things, but I feel a lot of it was luck as well. I also thought Don was a but annoying at the beginning, but he got better. Enjoyment 9/10 I did not expect this anime to be so emotional to watch. It is an anime that anyone could enjoy, regardless of genre preferences. Although is has some fantasy, this is a relatable anime. There was potential for another whole season, but I very much respect a show willing to end at its peak to avoid butchering the whole thing. Overall 9/10

I'm not even disappointed. I just don't care about it anymore, the ending was so awful I laughed for a few good minutes. The ended the show with a power point presentation of a few 100 chapters of what the manga has to offer. I feel like I was tricked into watching a 6 hour advertisement for the manga. Rushed isn't even the word, we needed 2 more seasons and a movie to finish this story. Its like they took scenes from the story board, colored them, and called it a day. How this could even happen, I don't know. Maybe the funding dried up, maybe they were told to wrap it up due to season twos poor performance, maybe covid had a role to play. I would have preferred a cliffhanger and "season 3 never memes." At least then there wouldn't be this disappointing finality to it. This thing that cannot be undone. The rest of the season wasn't anything good either. Not awful, just middle of the road. Disappointing compared to the great show that is season one. It all felt like a rushed season of some C tier anime with a B tier source. This show deserved better, but its time to let disappointment lay its head. Move on, and don't point blame.

First of all, promised neverland season 1 was a masterpiece i want to mention that. It was on my top 10 list of all time. However, Season 2 was absolute garbage.İn the first 5 episodes i enjoyed it kinda well but when I learned Norman' and Norman's plan I was disappointed. Moreover, there are a lot of scenes that are skipped according to the manga. I don't want to give spoilers in this review, but in my opinion, season 2 was rushed a lot.İt could be 3 or even 4 seasons depending on the time between season 1 and season 2. Everything happened so quickly. Characters 10/10 İ love TPN characters, especially Ray, Norman, and Emma; they are still very good and well written. Story 4/10 A lot of missings in story line so many scenes that are skipped in manga. Also, there is a lot of conflict between manga. sound 8/10 Sounds are kind of okay for me, but not that amazing. Art 9/10 Art is amazing; there are no words for that. Every scene was fascinating for me. To sum up, this review has no spoilers, even minor ones. I want to express my disappointment about one of my favorite series suggest season 1 for all anime lovers, but if you are interested in a story, I want to encourage you to continue on manga. (Season 1 ends on chapter 37/181 of the manga.)

My rating is solely for the ending theme. The entire show was trash besides. Mujika, she carried it the entire way. At a more in-depth look, it's been a while since I've watched the show and I definitely don't plan on rewatching. I loved s1 but s2 just completely destroyed everything. Mujika carried the entire season The ending theme carried the entire season The show is where it all went down hill, it's as if they out no effort into it at all. They definitely didn't stay loyal to the manga and that just made it even worse Overall for the show 1/10 For the ending 10/10

Best show ever!! Had a fun time watching it. It has everything that a masterpiece needs. I would definitely recommend it to someone who had never watched anime before. I dont want to give off spoilers but the ending was so satisfying to watch. Even my grandmother liked it. The show decided to make a anime original ending to the show and it nailed it. I don't get why season one gets all the praise, season 2 of the promised neverland is the best thing in entertaintment. Mal is telling me to write a longer review and i can't think of any more words to describe how wonderful this show is so i think this is the best show me, my friends, my parents, my family, my future wife, my future children etc. have ever watched

Wow.... they didn't even try. The animation was uninspiring and dull. Nothing really happens in the first half except that they move around a bit. The main characters go through absolutely no development what so ever. They spend entire episodes on just talking but then rush through huge plot points and character moments in minutes. The ending is one of the greatest insults I've ever witnessed in a manga. If you're not going to bother actually spending time on something then at least write something new and don't give us the story in a slideshow. Infuriated that I wasted my time on this.

The Promised Neverland without the promise it's just a neverland like the season 2 of this anime. Everyone know now but a big part of the manga was skipped in this season, this part explain litterally why this manga/anime is called the "promise" neverland, so we lost the sense. Except that, it's not a bad anime for the one who don't plan to read the manga but the story is rushed, the charaters developpement are missing, musics are nice but forgettable, cloverwork do a nice job but other anime in this season by them are better. In conclusion, look Yakusoku no neverland/The promised neverland S2 only if you want to add more anime in your completed list or if you don't planned to read the manga, otherwise you will be disapointed.

I honestly consider that this season is one of the lowest points in anime history and this is coming from an avid anime watcher for 15 years. This is my first time writing a review, but after watching the final episode I just had to express how bad this whole season was. Bear in mind that I have not read the manga, so this is just from an anime point of view. Started as enjoyable (still far from season 1) but lost its way throughout. Pacing issues all over and that final episode... I can't even begin to describe how horrible it was. No explanations whatsoever, character development, or even at times below average animation. Whoever was in charge of the production of this season needs to lose their job. What a disgrace and embarrassment after the success of season 1. #notapromisedneverland

They rushed this, clearly a money grab from the hype of season 1, they apparently skipped 50-60 chapters and went straight to the ending. Really felt like a disney movie how every issue just got fixed for the end, no deaths whatsover, was expecting more from such a dark themed anime. What else can I say, stop telling me write a longer review damn. What else can I say, stop telling me write a longer review damn. What else can I say, stop telling me write a longer review damn. Don’t listen what the other say, just watch it and judge for yourself! Just finished the second season and I was not dissapointed. I thought the animation and story was good, there were some things that felt kinda rushed but imma let it pass. The story has some plot twists in it but some were predictable. The final episode felt really rushed, it felt like the studio wanted this over with as soon as possible lol but still good imo. I also realised that all the hate came mostly from manga readers and that so many chapters were skipped in the manga, but as an anime-only this was a great watch so I enjoyed it very much. Story: 8.5/10 Animation:8/10 Soundtrack: 7.5/10

When i started the season i was like??? Why is everyone complaining??? This is not bad, until I saw it all: - i did not read the manga but it doesn't take a lot of thought to notice how much of the content was skipped! And the production rushed - Lazy animations - Lazy build up - By the naration of the main story line you could easily tell season 2 should have been 2 or 3 seasons. - Besides the fact that they cut the whole story............................ THEY GAVE SPOILERS AT THE END WITH WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN????? So now I can't even read the manga because I already know how it's going to end because in the last episode they show snapshots of events that look like 2 seasons worth of content............ SO BAD!
