Despite the change in the studio, which is the most controversial topic regarding Attack on Titan Final Season, its story is the only thing that saw an improvement as always. Mappa tried their best to give the show the same glory that Wit Studio provided but for whatever reasons it wasn't the same. While the character's design is closer to Manga, the CG is what ruined the battle sequence. I like the new character design as they are more good to match the theme of the show. The music is somewhat good but it lacks the amazing work of Sawano which I am sure most of you agree with. Ashes of Fire is the only OST that I found good. The biggest thing that bothered me is the direction. The final season lacks the amazing direction of Tetsuro Araki that was one of the reasons for the success of the show. But the story is what balances out these things and still makes it the best show ever to watch. But if they were to work on this project I am sure we would see a lot more improvement in the show. I am glad that Mappa picked it but despite their hard work, there is always something they will lack. Mappa somewhat balances out the WIT work but the lack of Tetsuro Araki and Hiroki Sawano won't balance out. IT is not that the new ones are bad, it just that they are far superior.

I went into Season 4 Part 1 thinking I was ready. I had seen everything before it. Season 1’s raw survival horror, Season 2’s slow burning dread, Season 3’s political awakening and that earth shattering basement reveal. I thought I understood Attack on Titan. I didn’t. Not even close. From the very first episode, this season feels different. Not just in animation style or setting, but in its soul. The show doesn’t hold your hand anymore. It throws you into a war you don’t recognize, with characters you are not sure whether to root for or fear. And that discomfort is intentional. Brilliantly so. By the end of Season 3, we all knew the world was bigger than the walls. But knowing something and emotionally confronting it are two very different things. Season 4 Part 1 forces you to confront it. It asks questions that don’t have easy answers. Who is the real enemy here? The Titans? History? Propaganda? Or ordinary people who were raised to hate others without ever questioning why? I kept asking myself this while watching. Are the people of Paradis really devils? Or are they just victims of crimes committed by their ancestors centuries ago? How long should guilt be inherited? How long should children pay for sins they never committed? When I saw families, kids, soldiers on both sides, I genuinely felt uncomfortable cheering for anyone. And that’s when I realized how far this anime had come from “humans vs monsters”. What hit me the hardest was Eren. I still remember Season 1 Eren. That fire in his eyes. That almost childish dream of seeing the world beyond the walls, touching the sea. In Season 3, when they finally reach the ocean, it should have been a victory. But it wasn’t. That moment felt heavy. And Season 4 explains why. Now Eren stands at the sea, not with wonder, but with a terrifying clarity. He asks a question that honestly cut deep for me. If we destroy the enemies beyond the sea, will we finally be free? That was the moment I accepted that the Eren I grew up with was gone. Not because he became evil, but because the world forced him to become something else. This season also made me appreciate how deeply Attack on Titan understands politics. Not anime politics, but real politics. Power, fear, resources, military advantage, financial interests. Nations don’t act out of morality, they act out of opportunity. The show doesn’t lecture you about it. It just shows you. And it’s uncomfortable how real it feels. I also loved how it portrayed indoctrination. How repeated exposure to hatred shapes young minds. How distorted history books create soldiers who believe they are doing the right thing. At times, I found myself sympathizing with characters I never expected to. That internal conflict as a viewer is one of the strongest aspects of this part. And yes, there are deaths. Some of them hurt more than I expected. Not because of shock value, but because of timing and meaning. You start to understand forgiveness. Or at least how hard it is to achieve it in a world soaked in blood. I started Attack on Titan years ago for the action. The Titans, the ODM gear, the hype moments. But here I am, at Season 4, realizing this series was never just about fighting monsters. It was about humanity. Its mistakes. Its cycles of hatred. And what happens when we refuse to learn from history. Season 4 Part 1 doesn’t just continue the story. It challenges everything you thought you knew. It made me uncomfortable, sad, conflicted, and silent after episodes ended. Few anime can do that. For me, this is a clear 10 out of 10. Not because it’s perfect, but because it dares to be honest. Darker than I expected. Deeper than I was prepared for. And painfully relevant to our real world. Attack on Titan stopped being just an anime here. It became a mirror.

Attack on Titan, one of the anime series to become the most popular since it started airing. Fight and survive, that's all it used to be about. It created a captivating story because life was so short and if you screwed up, you ended yours. With Attack on Titan: Final Season airing, it does feel like we lose a bit of a that. I'll assume you've seen the prequel seasons for the purposes of this review. Story: Attack on Titan: Final Season skips us ahead multiple years after Eren and friends finally reached the wide open ocean following the end of the third season. Right away, we're tossed into a completely different setting with brand new characters, fighting a war. This new setting is called Marley and freedom seems to be what they're fighting for. Freedom is a central theme in the entire series and that seems to hold true here. As the plot carries on within Marley, we learn more and more about their history, as well as the history of many of the titans. This seeks to answer where they came from, what they're for - everything. As the series carries it, our characters that we've come to know and love (or hate, depending on your viewpoint) finally get mixed into the story and that's really where our plot takes off. Or it tries to anyway. This series does start off notoriously slow, in part because they need to go over so much of the political and historical landscape of Marley. This is never really a series killer, as Demon Slayer's Entertainment District proved, so believe me when I say it's worth sticking around past that. However, if you're uninterested in the aforementioned Marley country as it stands, you're going to get bored very quickly. It's not the biggest deal if you're not into that though. You could easily watch this season, and get by mostly fine with a minimal understanding of who is fighting who, and why. The first fight within this series centres around the Warhammer Titan, one of the seven special titans that are seen in this series. We already know a few others - Armoured, Colossal, etc. This fight is a strong reminder as to why most people love Attack on Titan. It's fun to watch, there's a ton going on and we get to see all the special abilities of our titans at full force. Once those episodes finally finish, we do take a pretty large break from the action and most of the rest of the series jumps to a more passive approach. There are a few action sequences, but not nearly enough within the sixteen episode season. One of the serious problems that I felt almost immediately was finding the answer to: Why do we care so much about Marley? Yes, there is a great amount of detail given with their past as it pertains to the titans, but if that's honestly the reason why we needed to go into this gigantic info dump, then it probably wasn't worth it. I thought the historical and political stuff was done about as well as it could have, but it's not my thing, and it ran far too long. This also includes characters that really didn't push the series in the right way. So while the series goes for a macro-level storytelling and worldbuilding, it really doesn't pay off. (6/10) Characters: As mentioned before, this season brings in some new characters from the nation of Marley. We've already gone over how the detail on the past was a problem, but present doesn't stand much ground to be better due to the lackluster characters. Outside of some characters that we already knew about, the series brings in characters like Gabi, Colt, Falco, Theo, Pieck, Floch and Yelena. The latter three had some moments where their personality shone, but in general, they were a really weak group. No, the story doesn't do a good job at giving them room to shine, but there's just no room to care about them. As mentioned before, our original Attack on Titan cast mostly all return. Levi's still amazing at what he does, Armin's grown into a more mature character, Mikasa's a strong scout and the list goes on. Zeke takes a fairly large role in this series and he might be one of the few characters for Marley that I didn't mind. However, two characters that I really didn't like were Eren and Historia. Eren's the obvious one because his character took a complete 180 and his ways around what he's doing now really doesn't make a ton of sense. Sure, there's still plenty of series left, but he's really unlikable now after achieving so much in the previous three seasons. Historia is another character that matured greatly in the past and it really feels like they threw away her character for no real reason. After taking a 180 in the opposite direction than Eren, I was pretty disappointed with how they left her. (6/10) Art: The studio handling Attack on Titan has been passed on from Wit Studio to MAPPA, and I'm really not a fan of this change. Wit wasn't on the same level as ufotable, but they still produced a pretty amazing looking series in the past. MAPPA does not come close to that level of detail. I mentioned the Warhammer Titan fight and it looked really good - but the rest of the series just feels a level below what I expected. They very obviously tried to preserve as much of the original as possible, but there are a lot of moments where you can see the difference, especially with character models. It's passable, but I was expecting better for a series that is so overwhelmingly popular. (7/10) Sound: If there's one way to get into the series, it's with this OP, My War, by Shinsei Kamattechan. It sets the mood so well and it's a fantastic choice to start you off. Yuuko Andou sings Shougeki, the ED, and it's a more sombre tune - which kind of reminds me of the Madoka endings. They feel suitable for anime that isn't short on dark themes. Voice cast all return, with Bryce Papenbrook (Eren) taking a big step here. He felt like an awkward fit for Eren in the first and second season, but he's far better with this new Eren. Jessie James Grelle (Armin) also improves their role. Newcomers Lindsay Seidel (Gabi), Matt Shipman (Floch), Anairis Quinones (Yelena) and Zeno Robinson (Onyankopon) all fit very well into their roles as well. (9/10) Overall: To say I'm disappointed on Attack on Titan: Final Season is a bit of an understatement. I was such a huge fan of the previous seasons that I felt jumping into a timeskip would set them up so well. Until they decided to lean into the politics, rather than the action. Sure, there's probably more action to come, but this wasn't the step I was hoping for. I'm honestly a bit shocked that this season scored so well for MAL users, but you can't always be in the majority, and I'll keep watching the series to see how long this lasts. (7/10)

Attack on Titan has gained a cult status over the years, making it something that can be easily called as cultural phenomena among animated series. A lot of people have already recommended this show and wrote both shorter and longer reviews that praised its elements. That's why I will go a different way and share my opinion on elements I enjoyed the most myself, without elaborating on the elements that maintained the high quality that have been a recurring element of Attack on Titan anime in general. What's more, I assume most of (if not all) people reading this review are familiar with the previous seasons of this show, that's why it's easy to guess what to expect from the fourth season. The fourth season had quite a nervous atmosphere surrounding it at first, mostly because of studio change. Wit Studio that had been responsible for all Attack on Titan animated shows since the very beginning, was to be replaced by a different one. Eventually, MAPPA has become the studio to succeed Wit in adapting the rest of the source material. Some people disliked the change, some people liked it, some were neutral. What about me? What can I say after several years after this show's premiere? Well, I absolutely love MAPPA's take on Attack on Titan. It feels fresh and more faithful to the manga in terms of art style, fitting perfectly into the change of atmosphere and circumstances after all the revelations we could see back in the previous season. It also has more realistic and mature way of direction, which can be easily noticed in how a lot of elements are in almost perfect synchronization, giving movie vibes, but without the show losing that anime feeling. If we add to its beautiful soundtrack full of epic tracks, brilliant voice acting (as usual), well animated action sequences, we will get an image of a show definitely worth of recommending. Back when this show was still airing, a vocal minority of people seemed to have been really bothered by CGI elements appearing in it. I don't think they were any worse than in the previous seasons. Their overall quality was above average, so it can be already be seen as something positive. Later, I read about how there were some production problems during the making process of this series. It made it look even more impressive in my eyes, because if I hadn't read about said problems, I wouldn't be able to say there were any difficulties at all. That's how good this anime looked like and still can be delightful to watch. Also, don't get me wrong: I really enjoyed Seasons 1-3 done by Wit Studios. They are the seasons that elevated Attack on Titan's status into a cult anime, after all. I'd like to make it clear that I am not a fan of "studio vs. studio" rants on the Internet. That being said, at the same time, I like to be sincere in my reviews and tell when I liked the newer stuff better. In this case, I simply enjoyed Season 4 Part 1 more than most of previous Attack on Titan anime installments. It doesn't mean everyone will be like that, of course. It'll be best to just say that in the end of this review that both Wit and MAPPA proved to be the right studios to take care of such great franchise as Attack on Titan.

[light spoiler warning] Wow. When I got a message saying that "if I liked what I saw in the first season, I would definitely enjoy this one!", it pumped me up a little. But little did I know... In the best interest of anyone reading, I'll keep this one short. In no humane and ethical way could you ever justify putting a gun in a child's hands. Once that happens, your show immediately loses all value. What was once vivid and colorful was consumed by the hateful pale. A dry pale that's stylistically outdated and overdone. A pale so disgusting that you need a few screws loose to see psychedelic colors in it. All of this paleness is so boring to watch. It's an autofellatio of self-indulgence, a never-ending cycle of pure unadulterated hatred. "Who is the enemy?!" the anime protagonist yells, not knowing that he is only fighting to satisfy his own ego, not to settle the past. He doesn't know that within the abyss seen in his eyes, it burns with an intense jet black flame, nearly invisible. "Hatred is the enemy!!" my wistful soul screams, fully knowing that blurting it out loud would not only be cringe, but completely useless. A thought cannot mend a soul. A prayer cannot heal what has been ruined. What has happened in the past should stay in the past. We live in the present, and it should be our decision to pick our own destiny. That's why this show fucking sucks. Because watching X person cry "but I had no choice! I was forced to commit Y war crime" got really stale. It isn't fun. It's like The Last of Us 2 in that regard, a lot of convolution for nothing. And thus, completely meaningless. In summary, Attack On Titan Final Season Part 1 is a psychedelic fetishization of war and it's fucking gross. 1/10. PS. Wit Studio did a better job. MAPPA is now kinda mid.

I was eager to know the conclusion and couldn't wait another year. To be honest, based on the plot's development, I already had a sense of how things would end. To be clear, I have seen a lot of anime, but Attack on Titan was my favourite. I went online to cast my vote for it in polls because I loved it so much. However, after Part 3's events, particularly that first episode, I began to question whether I had been wasting my time and expectations on this series. I assumed I would put up with it as usual but when they revealed that the last season would be delayed by another year, I started to read the manga. I can honestly state that Attack on Titan's conclusion is among the most disappointing and absurd ever, without giving away any spoilers. With that conclusion, they utterly destroyed a great series. It gives the previous things a sense of meaninglessness. The ending severely harmed all of the previous seasons, regardless of how anyone tries to defend it. This anime is a complete waste of time, and I now want to forget it. I will never recommend it again Adding to that, the latest post-credits scene in the movie did nothing to help; it felt like a joke layered on top of the disappointment, not a meaningful resolution. My problem isn’t just with how it ends, but with what it could have been and what kind of joke was delivered. Now I will leave you with a question "will you rob the life of your lover/love just to save lifes of others, will you be mikasa?"

For reference, I give season 1-2 a solid 8/10, season 3 a 7.5/10. When I saw the first episode of S4 (The Final Season) I thought I got a corrupted version of the anime, the quality had taken such a nose dive I legitimately thought something was wrong with the video file. Upon further investigation this was sadly not the case... The production of the show had just gone into the dumpster. The execution of the narrative, characters, and emotion was so poorly done that it's insulting to the original material of the manga by Hajime Isayama. It panders with the characters, stretching out their depth to a shallow pool. This material deserves so much better, as the prior seasons showed us it could. The earlier seasons are not perfect, but they are excellent adaptations of the source material and branched off showing new strengths only capable in animation. All of that is gone by S4. It does improve slightly in the later episodes, but it's still a hollow shell compared to the prior seasons. It was a great sadness to witness it, and it was difficult to even continue watching at times tbh.

story is good, to be expected from the manga. this season tho is kinda trash tho no cap. no honest man will say the cgi is as good as the 2d art from s1-s3p2, and tbh even after the notorious colossal titan episode in s3p2 i didn't even notice it was a big thing because of the other phenomenal animation happening in the rest of the episode. in short: meh. redditors will say otherwise and praise the animation for what it is but bro, i do not care. i do not care about the backstory behind developing the animation. i understand that the animators were put in horrible working conditions; its not mappa's fault for such a short deadline, but regardless, looking at it as a final product from just the anime standpoint, there is very little room for discussion to praise this season that highly.

I'm Rating it as an anime adaptation and it is quite possibly the most "over-praised" I've seen. The animation is abysmal and the staff also knows it I'm not judging based on sympathy we're rating a finished product or in this case unfinished. I mean who would expect a masterpiece of a quality of a rushed production? In any case there were barely any animation most of the animation the whole 16 episodes was in episode 2 ,7 and 8 outside of those episodes most of the linework is bad most didn't even look corrected by the ADs the choreography is bad even in important key episodes. especially the later episodes like episode 12 onwards. (not all are bad there were good later episodes for production quality and good storyboard like only episode 15) as for early episodes episode 3 is just shit production then the horrendous episode 6 aside from few good cuts (mikasa vs warhammer) the rest of the episode was just poorly done and quite frankly show the production hell. especially the part where Eren just transformed off-screen that was disgusting to look at as an animation fan the cut corner for an important ep like it and what more it passed with the storyboard it was intentional and it sucks that they didn't really prepare for the episode at all making the whole ep feel like it's made just to adapt you can't see any signs of love for adapting AoT Season 4 and they didn't even used CG to their best ( before you go off at ""you just hate CG" "MAPPA CG g0oD") It's not good you are just used to shit CG. Good CG anime however like Gembutt Anime and Beastars those are the good ones but not to the point its Great so what is AoT s4 then? then with Music, I don't usually care about music but there's a big lack in music with this they had to repeat so much of Ashes Fire every episode outside episode 7 most of the OST were just ashes fire replays. Overall a rushed production that shouldn't had been. Animation is bad and I don't care which studio that makes it I'm solely judging it as a product with no regard of circumstances as all should be when rating something

This is my first review of the year and I just wanted to say, For me the animation did go down a bit from the previous season and I understand why, but I enjoyed every episode when I started watching it until it ended and I realized that the goosebumps, excitement and curiosity when watching was the same as the previous season, Many people are disappointed but I understand they just haven't been able to move on from the past and they feel weird and shocked .btw, good job for all the people involved in making this amazing project. good luck.

MAPPA did not ruin AoT, please shut the fuck up about that. This is an actual review without mentioning 3D CGI. This is a step down for sure from previous seasons in a more subtle way. The current director tried so hard to replicate Tetsuro Araki direction style but kinda fails. But in my opinion, that doesn't reduce the overall quality of Attack on Titan itself, because what AoT needs especially in final season is not amazing action sequences and such, but just a resolution to deep, personal level conflict. Season 3 part 1 has almost no action compared to its previous seasons, but it's one of the most engaging season. With that said, MAPPA did AoT Final season justice. From sound effects to voice acting, it complement each other and makes attack on titan a treat to watch. Just for a simple scene, we can actually nitpick it and find out that MAPPA paid attention to even a smallest detail. On episode 2, 21.52 minute mark, you can see Reiner seing Gabi and Falco training, as he talks to himself, “Will I have to go again? To that island..”. This scene tells us so much how Reiner feels about his own past, even though its already been told before but this scene is just a really nice detail. He looks at gabi and falco as he reminisce his training days just before he got his titan powers and went to Paradis Island. This still picture of Reiner is not just him being serious, but also it shows that reiner is traumatized by his own past. His voice doesn’t sound like he’s being serious “ah shit here we go again”, but a depressive type of “ah shit, here we go again”. Other than what makes AoT great, that's where my main criticism lies. It's action and music. Even i said that AoT doesn't need this kind of hype machine anymore, that doesn't mean i can't criticize their effort to make one. For some reason, The action scenes don't feel impactful. Maybe it's because of the sound effects. On episode 6, starting from 11.24 minute mark to 11.30 there are already some issue for me. The first one is Warhammer titan’s roar. I don’t think that the delivery from the voice actress is bad, but I do think that it lacks of editing in the sound department. You see, titan is big. When a thing as big as a titan is roaring, it should not be like this, like a regular human roar. I don’t know sound terms of this, but it should sound coming from a big ass creatures. Take beast titan as an example. His titan voice feels its coming from a big creature, echoing and feels heavy. Same with female titan and eren’s titan. This voice of Warhammer titan makes it feel less scary and menacing. Second, the sound effects in general. When Warhammer titan smashes the ground with her big ass hammer, it doesn’t sound like it. Again, it just feels like a regular sized hammer smashed the ground. This errors in sound department really ruin the experience for me. Third, music selection. This is not restricted only to that scene I just pointed. This part applies to this whole episode, that is episode 6. The music selection feels like just a filler. In previous seasons, the animation choreography goes well with the music. It doesn’t feel the music is chosen because it fits the scene that already been made, but the animation itself is made based on the music and the music is made based on the scene. This means the previous director had a really good communication with the composer. In this season…it doesn’t feel like it. My complaints seems a lot, but really its just a tiny portion of the season. MAPPA did not ruin season 4. Not at all. WIT adaptation is not perfect either, but they got many things right, just like MAPPA. I won't talk about the story. It's just pure greatness, you gotta see it for yourself.

Man, I'm so glad to have seen this anime while it was eren'! You could say Attack on Titan is really at its pieck!! Better stop armin' yourself, for there is no more need to stay arlert, AOT is back!!! At long last, after months of warfare between fans of Fullmetal Alchemist and Attack on Titan fans, after months of debates over whether or not to fappa to mappa or to crappa on mappa, and after months of trying to decide who in the hell is in the right versus the wrong here, Attack on Titan has wrapped up the first part of its final season. The beast shall be back for more, but man, what an experience it was. Never has Attack on Titan, a show that started off as giant naked men eating little people, been so intense, both within the realms of the show itself and in real life surrounding it. If you have seen previous seasons, you would know that Attack on Titan has started off as a very simplistic anime, but has slowly become more and more complex with each season. Season 1 began with giant naked men eating people, before throwing in the twist that people can become giant naked men. Then, season 2 throws in the wrench that there are people who can become giant naked men within the military fighting against them. Season 3 comes in with the revelations as to where giant naked men come from, and provides a narrative on war and idealism. Finally, this season turns everything around, making it practically impossible to decide what is truly morally correct in Attack on Titan. That being said, the story here is rich as hell. If you aren't absolutely absorbed into it to some extent, then you're clearly just watching for action. That being said, there is almost no action this season, with action only taking place in four episodes. Instead, we are presented with a beautiful, engaging story that simply cannot be put down. The characters, holy shit. Your favorite character may now become one you despise, with vice versa being just as likely. The first half of this season focuses on Marley, and focuses primarily on Reiner. If you hated Reiner before this season, that is sure to change. The rest of the Marleyan warriors are all excellent additions to the cast, and ones who are quite likeable. The second half of this season shifts back to the dev- wait, devils?! Yes, my friends, it turns out the main characters we've spent three seasons with may not be saints after all. But my god, have some of these characters changed. Eren Yeager, the whiny little brat who slowly became more mature from his experiences, has become, well for one an absolute chad, and two, an extremely interesting character. I shall keep this as spoiler-free as I can, but I will simply say that Eren is quite, erm, interesting. I also most note how badass Zeke is, and how interesting he is as well. Now to address an elephant in the room. Yes. Wit took a shit, and sadly enough, Attack on Titan fell out of their ass. But that's okay, because the crappa went on to Mappa! While the art/animation is nowhere near the caliber of previous seasons, I'd still say it looks pretty solid, albeit with some questionable cgi and inconsistent character models. It doesn't detract from the experience too badly, but I definitely had a much better reaction to certain scenes that were extremely well animated, such as the finale of episode 16, compared to the cgi episodes we saw in episodes 6 and 7. You could blame Kodansha and Mappa's administration for the horrible conditions and rushed schedule, but nonetheless, it could've looked better. Could've looked far worse however, and for what it's worth, it looks good enough. The voice actors absolutely nailed it this season, with Yuki Kaiji and Ayane Sakura standing out to me in particular for their performances as Eren and Gabi. However the rest of the cast did absolutely amazing. Not a single scene felt lacking at all in the voice acting department. This season's soundtrack was fantastic, with the re-use of old Sawano classics as well as new tracks that absolutely slap from Kohta Yamamoto. The opening, Boku no Sensou, is so damn catchy, arguably the best AOT opening among them all. The ending theme, Shougeki, is pretty good, very pretty and also a bop. I will say, the OST used during the declaration of war scene was severely underwhelming, but not worthy of threats against Mappa either. Overall excellent sound per usual. I wouldn't say this is Attack on Titan's best season. Season 3 Part 2 was phenomenal and remains the best piece of fiction I've ever seen. However, this season did come pretty damn close. Despite being in the hands of an entirely new studio, with entirely new animators, directors, and other workers, as well as an extremely unreasonable 8 month production schedule, this season turned out to be quite fantastic. I cannot give it a full 10, because there were some complaints worthy of mention. The direction, while still pretty good, hasn't always delivered, which has left some scenes feeling rather dull or empty rather than absolutely slamming like they could have. The CGI, I will admit, I'm not hating on Mappa nor eating Wit's shit, but the cgi didn't look that good in my opinion. Some scenes were excellent. Episode 1's cgi was superb, and some fight scenes looked great. But in other scenes, the cgi just doesn't look that good, kinda ugly if anything. In addition, the character models here were inconsistent to a noticeable degree, and towards the end of the season, it did often feel like watching a powerpoint presentation with an audio track. However, despite these complaints, I still had a lot of fun watching Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 1, and am very excited for Part 2 when it launches next winter! Attack on Titan was absolutely on fire this season, and this is all setup for fantastic things to come. With more time given to work on part 2, and with how damn good that finale was, I have no doubt that The Final Season Part 2 will truly be something absolutely special. Go watch this season of Attack on Titan, and enjoy it. You may miss the insane action of previous seasons, but if you love the story and lore/dialogue then you are in for a real treat. Story: 10/10 Characters: 10/10 Art/Animation: 7.5/10 Sound/Music: 9/10 Enjoyment: 9.5/10 Overall: 9.5/10

I can say without a doubt that the AOT series is one of the best anime written of all time. It is genuinely amazing. The ONLY and I mean ONLY hiccup in the anime is the usage of 3D in the final, which wasn't even bad at all. The only reason it was done was because otherwise, the anime would have never gotten animated due to it being such an extreme task. The studio before Mappa, Wit, dropped the show after season 3 because they knew that they wouldn't be able to deliver to the standard that season 4 asked for. I would've liked 2D more, but honestly? I still do like 3D a lot. The story of the entire show is just so amazing. There is only ONE minor plot hole in the ENTIRE series, and everything is foreshadowed somewhere along the way. It takes multiple rewatches sometimes to even get some of the foreshadowing, but once you do get it it's like "What?? That was there the whole time?" I don't want to get into spoilers at all, but genuinely, if you are on the fence about watching AOT, please just do it already, you won't regret it. Also fuck you Gabi.

Eight hours of horrific violence and murder and terrorist acts and fascism, with like ten moments of levity in total. Each of these happy moments is immediately undercut by a scene of someone being violently stomped on, exploding, getting shot in the head, being ripped apart, or announcing their plan for mass extermination. Needless to say I love it. S4P1 sees the series continue its progression from action fantasy to endless nightmare. The ambiguity seen in earlier seasons is pushed further and further until it's pretty much all that's left. By the end of the Marley arc, we're completely alienated from every character we know. What's left is a show about a bunch of scared, violent people turning a bunch of other scared, violent people into red pulp; and the longer it goes on, the more obvious it is that there's no point to any of it. Gabi & Falco's arc works as the perfect through line for the season, bringing both the themes and plot full circle. But what good is a few characters learning a lesson about peace when there's crowds of people outside calling for war? Just shut up and Give Your Hearts losers! What really manages to keep this season from becoming a totally miserable slog is the fantastic art direction & cool fights. The new setting gives the show its first chance to really change up the visual style, and they use this opportunity to its fullest. The new Titan designs, new characters, old character redesigns post-time skip, etc are all just fun to look at. The foreign buildings and technology both look cool and completely change the dynamic of every fight scene.

First of all disclaimer here. I can take it the inner problem about AoT S4 has. So in this review i just reviewing the most effortless that studio can do, cause it's not directly using his crew for this. Yeah it's a soundtrack or ost. Even though the director must check this project before the finish still this is the most effortless they do. Just hire some composer or band or whatever and tell them to make an ost that fit well on some scenes. And what MAPPA did was a really lazyness B word that i see this year. Yeah what they did using some western Edgy song to make a scene that really didn't fit well. And this is really away from track that what AoT really did before. Instead using tragedy music to the scene that really tragedy, gory and sad, they used a f Edgy rap western song. Good job MAPPA. I think they mix up the ost from Jujutsu 0 or chainsaw That i believe they're Edgy song to AoT. You know MAPPA i think you should rest. Don't make my OPM S3 later be such an garbage. So please take a rest. Do nothing. Sleep well. Check your condition health. Okay. Yeah the ost really sucks 1/10 from me. Anything beside ost i can take it because like i said the inner problem SH*t happened.

It’s incredible. The time skip and change in setting was probably the best thing they could have done because trying to follow up from Season 3 Part 2, which is my favourite arc in all of anime, by doing something similar would be very difficult. One thing season 4 does better than the rest is making the characters much more interesting and elevates Eren from just sort of being there to being a commanding and intimidating figure who we don’t know whether to root for or not. I like Gabbie and Falco as well, and how Eren and Reiner are mirrored in their personalities and actions. Showing the other side of the war gave the series more depth than before. It’s not just good vs evil or humans vs Titans anymore. The horrors of war are shown very well. However, while the season has some very good action, such as the Warhammer Titan fight, the action and the animation in the action is a bit of a step down from the previous seasons. This isn’t a problem with the CGI or the change in artstyle, I actually think the CGI is pretty good and the artstyle is really good, rather there was nothing in the animation that wowed me like the earlier seasons. Overall, the season had everything Attack on Titan has had in the past and some added elements, deepening the series. However, some the action and animation wasn’t as jaw-dropping as the earlier seasons. I would give Attack on Titan Season 4 a 9/10.

Quick thoughts: Wow. Can't say I completely understood what happened, but this was still one of the most enjoyable seasons of anime I've watched in a while. Story: I think the story was told pretty well. It's a straightforward timeline with a few short flashback arcs when additional context was needed. I was a bit confused in the first couple episodes, but I think that was mostly due to me forgetting some details between seasons. I liked how there wasn't a clear cut good or bad side being pushed; they present the motives and thought processes of several characters and seem to leave it to the viewer to interpret. Assuming part 2 of this season will be of similar length, I thought this season ended at a good point. Art: I thought a lot of the still shots were pretty good. They did especially well in capturing negative emotions through facial expressions; I could really feel the fear or disgust displayed through some of the characters. I think my main gripe would be some of the CGI. It usually looked fine, but there were a few scenes where sudden drop/change in frame-rate would take me out of the moment. Sound: Outside of the OP, I didn't find much of the music to be memorable. The voice acting was solid, don't remember anyone sounding out of place. Characters: I thought the characters were great overall. I initially thought some developments were jarring (Eren mostly), but i eventually found their changes to be understandable. I did find one character annoying (Gabi), but I think that was partially by design. She did do well in showing how the people under similar influences and conditions would view the world; It would've been tough to make someone with her role likable. Everyone else was solid though. I really liked how well feelings like uneasiness, distrust, etc. were displayed through the cast. Enjoyment: As someone who wasn't the biggest fan AoT up to this point, I really did enjoy this season. Any negatives I've mentioned so far are vastly overshadowed by how engaging I found the animation and action to be, and how interested I was in seeing what would result from the conflict in morals among the main cast.

In fact, this season is better than past seasons. The characters will be revealed in the second part of the season, so I won't write anything about it. I paid more attention to the sound this season, and therefore it seems to me that the creators coped perfectly with the sound coincidence (the opening is gorgeous) But the main problem is that "MAPPA" are the most talantless people in the world. And I'm not even talking about 3D titans, I mean the combat animations, color grading and faces themselves. All of this looks just awful compared to previous seasons. And even the trailer in the style of past seasons looks much better.

This is my second favorite season of AOT series. The character development is so mind blowing, the story is one of the best, the music is still great and the animation is still good Literally one of the best anime I have ever watch,I have no problem with CG my only "nitpicking" is the color grading and some scene is so dark or blurry and in the ep 2 some character doing some weird movement like Udo talking scene, and I learned later that they are using rotoscoping because of the bad scheduled The animation and the art style is not for me so i prefer the wit although the story alone is great and I know mappa has a bad schedule for this season so I appreciate their work. Overall I do enjoy the season but tbh if aot mappa a better schedule it could be better I heard that the manga is ended so I hope mappa deliver us a great animation for the ending

Attack on titan is one of those shows where when you finish it you'll sit back and think. Just think. You'll keep thinking. The themes, the actions, the characters, the story all just made me think as I read chapter to chapter and watched episode to episode. When the story is ultimately wrapped up from anime watchers, they'll ask others where they can find anime's such as this one. I do this all the time as well as stories I enjoy, I want to see again and again and again. Usually it's simple, if you watched a great rom-com, you can find other rom-coms pretty easily. If you like action, then action is pretty easy to find. If someone asks me what to watch after Attack on titan I will just say breaking bad, not because the themes are similar, or the characters, or even the medium but rather because these 2 shows are the epitome of fiction. They have some of the highest peaks in all of TV, think Hero in AOT and Ozymandias in Breaking Bad. Animation: 8/10 The animation was a step back from Wit's sharp line, hand drawn titans that made them pop. One of my favorite fights in the whole series is the clash of titans in episode 7 of season 2. HOWEVER, the cg models used are nothing short of top-tier. Seriously, the armored, jaw and even the cart titan all had amazing action sequences. I can't think of one "bad" model with the rest looking generally pretty good. Story: 10/10 This is Attack on Titan, you already know it's good. OST(9/10): Now there's really only 1 song that I can remember of the top of my head which is Ashes of the Fire but that's my favorite track in the whole series so that's why this is a 9/10. Characters(10/10) I love this cast, but seeing the dead, anguished and tired look on their faces helps to understand the brutality of war.
