great premise, and the first few episodes were comedic and fun—entertaining. the switch into a more angsty, serious vibe as the main plot is kicked into action was done smoothly and not stark. but personally, as i continued the series, i started to lose interest. not to the point where i got bored, but the series started off really well for me that i had high expectations for the entirety of it. the ending was done fine but at that point i was not as hyped anymore. katou's backstory dragged out far too cheesy for my liking i enjoyed seeing the dynamic between katou and daisuke and hoped for a little development with their relationship. I suppose 11 episodes might not be enough for that, considering how much content they had to put in. expectedly, a season 2 will come and focus more on the relationships between the characters, including the other side characters that did not play so much of a part except for comic relief. what was disappointing for me was suzue's character. I went in looking forward for her to be a influential, plot-moving, considering her supposed abilities and skills, but in the end, her (multiple) efforts turn out to be futile, and not only until the end did i see her potential actually come into action. overall a good anime. nothing mind-blowing or super impactful. looking forward to s2.

Another day and another detective series. This time it features a smug, gazilionaire detective with his other half being a hardworking, honest and justice loving partner. With just 11 episodes, I think this anime tried it best to fit in a nice narrative but ultimately something just felt lacking in the end. (Spoiler free review) Whats great about unlimitedly rich detective? The dynamic duo of Kambe and Takei was fun to watch and seeing how he slaps his wealth around is also entertaining along with daisuke pulling out his gadgets. The animation and sound direction was pretty good as well as it reminded me of a spy-esque theme series like you know James bond but japanese and he is rich af like ironman. Whats not so great? The storyline. I think the first half of the show with its episodic theme was great but the show faltered during the later half when introducing the main plot. The transition and flow of the story felt off and the supporting cast behind the two detectives were sort of forced into action with them getting no sort of story arc or even much screen time to get to know more about their personalities. As such, i felt uninterested with them especially when they had to drive the show forward during the later half. Minimal interaction between Daisuke and the supporting cast also further deter any sort of interesting revelation about them. Justification of final score: The production value of this anime is definitely great with a main duo cast that have comedic and entertaining moments that is sure to attract audiences but that is the cutoff point for the series. The problem lies with the supporting cast not having enough background which is understandable with the 11 episodes. Overall, i felt that it is a good anime which could have been better with some tweaks in transition in the story. It stand between a score of 6 and 7 but i chose the 7 cause i enjoyed the songs for the anime. If I were to compare what this anime tried be, the one that comes to mind is Bungou Stray Dogs, which is unfair since the anime has 3 seasons. ;D

From what I've seen of this show, it's alright. It's nothing outstanding, nor is it particularly terrible either. It was difficult to suspend my belief at first at how outrageous some of the scenarios were, but after I got over the fact that anime doesn't abide by the parameters of reality, it made my viewing experience much easier. While not particularly unique, the art is cute. The use of CG isn't jarring compared to some other animes, which is good. The soundtrack isn't anything noteworthy. The OP and ED don't really vibe with me, but it is what it is. The main characters are fine. Sure, they're trope-y, but it adds some color to the rest of the lackluster cast. The dynamic between Kambe and Kato is interesting and could be developed further albeit tenuous at times, but there's some moments for fangirls to scratch at. The rest of the Modern Crimes Division is insufferable and incompetent at their jobs and aren't developed well enough for me to overlook their incompetency. I suppose we're supposed to feel Kato's dissatisfaction of being in Modern Crimes, but that could be a stretch I made up to keep myself from clawing my eyes out whenever they get screen time. This show is a boredom killer and can easily be binged, yet it's incredibly forgettable once you're done with it. That's all I can say about it.

Balance: Unlimited starts with no plot. It's just a chad, rich guy apprehending crime scenes with money. It more or so looks like an anime made purely for enjoyment. But plot grows better and better after 5 episodes and shifts its focus from pure enjoyment to some murder mystery. Honestly it did deliver the suspense really well with number of plot twists and unexpected plot points. Music was top notch. Direction was "ehh"! Sometimes characters just stood there as if they had no feelings and didn't care if they got attacked. Action felt restrictive. Obscure character feelings made it difficult to watch at times but it's not much of a problem. Enjoyment: 10/10 Animation: 7/10 Music: 10/10 Direction: 4/10 Overall: 8/10

I had SUCH high hopes for this show, the story was interesting, the characters were cool, the art and sound were amazing. I thought the story was really going places, but in the latter half of the show, things started going downhill, i had no idea what was happening, and we still didnt know much about the characters or anything like that. And then watching the ending, the only word i could use to describe it was disappointed. I thought it could be so cool and so popular, but they rushed the ending and ended it badly. I do hope it returns for a second season, but if they do, they better fix the writing and the pacing of the writing. They had everything they needed to make this a success! But they messed up the writing, thus throwing everything else out the window.

I personally think this anime was great. It's definitely something i would come back for and watch as a "pick-me-up". i'd say the first 2-3 episodes were more of fillers but the plot progresses well, in my opinion. i really appreciate the character developments they all had and how Daisuke and Haru's relationship with each other progressed into something friendlier and more comfortable, so to speak. i was somewhat mesmerised by the art style of Balance: Unlimited. I love the colour scheme of it all as it was quite refreshing to the eyes. The soundtrack was immaculate. I've now saved the outro and intro to my playlist! the characters were well-executed (?) by the seiyuu. definitely hoping for a second season! job well-done to everyone who worked on this anime.

You are a basic police with gun issues and a part of your past that cannot get rid of and suddendly you have a partner who is a rich boy that earns all the money of the Earth and has a super computer that can do almost everything you order. This might sounds crazy but i think we need more animes like this, and not only with policemans i'm talking about the plot. At the beggining (3 first episodes) you maybe think it could be bored or repetitive but the story goes "in crescendo" until it reach levels of epicness, but for this you'll have to wait. Nothing left for me to say, you will not regret, if you are seeking for police, hot guys, misteries and creepy family secrets this is your anime.

I loved everything about Fugou Keiji: Balance:Unlimited. When I first heard about it, it already caught my attention; a mystery comedy following a messy gold hearted police officer and a rich arrogant detective? Count me in! The story itself really took me by surprise; I wasn't sure if they were have a big main plot since the first few episodes had very different stories in them, but I now realize that it was to get us comfortable with the characters and the world --- while only revealing small hints about the main plot. It will make you question many things; one episode you're sure you know what's going on, but then the next episode proves all of your theories wrong! And what's even more impressive, they make sense! There aren't any big "Wait, is this now a thing?" moments because they show/tell us things that are possible in the world (I realize this doesn't really make sense, but I do not want to spoil even a little bit). I have to mention the pacing as its own thing here; it's surprisingly good. While at the start it did feel like a completely 180-turn after few episodes when the main plot started advancing, majority (if not all-- it really depends on how each person feels about it) of the show is extremely well paced. The art and sound are both so good; I'm in love with the opening and ending theme songs, not to mention: just the soundtrack in general has been just amazing. I'm not gonna say much about the characters; I really loved everyone, and the ones that I did not love, I loved them in "wow, you're a great character for the story" way. Daisuke and Haru are good; both alone and as a duo; they really fit well together with their different personalities because they find common ground to stand on. I really enjoyed this anime. It did kinda suck that after the first two episodes it had to be delayed few months because of the pandemic, but it was well worth the wait. The ending took my by surprise, and I'm sure I will rewatch this anime again just to see if I've missed some clues early on on what's going on. Here's to hoping that they make a second season of this.

This show has been so entertaining involving the journey of two polar opposites - a stone face millionaire taking revenge on his mother's death and a smart cheeky loud mouth who is a ordinary bloke. Both of which partner up to be badass detectives. I found this anime really difficult to distinguish if it's the anime of the year or if its a bit of downer. However I gotta be honest here, 11 friggin episodes doesn't do justice(see what I did there ;D) to make up a great story like I felt the ending was rather too rushed and tbh, the damn other cops working for Haru and Daisuke (except for Cho-San and Takei) are so friggin annoying. Plus they are just literally dumb and useless man! I mean yeah, have a tiny sprinkle of comedy but the jokes they crack open, don't crack open enough. But that doesn't stop me giving this a chance for season 2 and loving the theme songs in this (honestly love the op and the closing). If you're into the buddy cop genre, go watch this anime folks!

Fugou Keiji was entertaining to watch, and I believe it's an easy recommend for anyone searching for a detective/police anime. This review won't contain any spoiler, I'll try to describe the strengths and the weaknesses of this show. Strengths : - The pace was done right. I've seen some reviews that complain about the show being rushed, but I don't think it's fair at all. Every episode has a point, and we can praise this show for giving us a complete story in the span of 11 episodes. Now, it's true that this is a "short" anime, and since the alchemy betweeen characters work, it's understandable that some viewers wish for more content, but it doesn't mean that the story is rushed, rest assured. - The animation is pretty nice. You'll easily spot that it's from CloverWorks Studio ( Kanbe's face looks a lot like Loid Forger's from Spy x Family, and yes, that's a big pro in my book ) and besides the designs, the action scenes looked nice. However, there is some cgi scenes ( driving cars ) that look a bit cheap. Weaknesses : - While it's true that the pace was done right, I believe that this show lacks ambition regarding its scenario. The story remains interesting enough, but I don't think it's good enough to become truly memorable, and I feel like it's a bit of a shame for a detective anime. To qualify, the show isn't trying to bait us into thinking this will be a convoluted story, so there's that at least, but maybe it should have went for a more complex one. - I won't go into details because it would be hard without spoiling, but I feel like the story cuts too many corners at times with certain "feats" the rich detective has access to. Once again, this anime's tone isn't trying to be that serious or dark, it's clearly a light approach on the detective genre with sci-fi elements, but the problem with using overpowered stuff to help the heroes, is that it hurts the show's coherence when the same heroes face the few obstacles they have a hard time overcoming. It's nothing major, but I think it's worth mentionning, don't expect a "real life" show with perfect explanations. _________________________________________________________________________________ All in all, this detective show was enjoyable to watch. The animation is good looking, and the few cases the characters will have to solve are interesting enough and well narrated. The show does have shortcomings that prevent him from being truly unique, I believe the main one is the fact that the redline might be too common, and likewise, the show isn't flawless regarding logic and explanations. However, it does fit this anime's atmosphere, since it's not taking itself too seriously, that's why we can easily overlook those few cons and enjoy this show.

Honestly when i saw this anime i thought it had a potential, i mean come on detectives, mysteries, lots of money and gadgets, super technology, whats not to like right ? Well... the whole story was kinda lackluster no real mystery, you can tell from start pretty much whats going to happen, some of the things are unexplained and kinda ruin the emersion. Also no real action going on. Anyway if you think this anime will blow you away, with any genre aspect, it probably wont, Overall its meh, if you are bored and got nothing else to watch this is not bad. Otherwise put priority on some other anime.

This is a thrill to watch. The first few episodes are quite random in nature following no real structure, they are exciting and fit the show perfectly. Generally, a bit of harmless fun to immerse you into the world. However, this transitions into a quite frankly, meagre story arc. This story arc starts off interesting but by the end you're left dumbfounded by the gaping plot-holes. It's watchable but it definitely ruins the entire thing. I don't even think you fully understand it all by the end, quite a shame really. The main characters are great, very likable, although more development was needed. Sound and animation fit it quite nicely, nothing lacking here at all. Rating this above seven is impossible unless you have some sort of emotional attachment. If the story was better fleshed out, with more character development, removing most of the plot holes it could easily be 8,9/10. Perhaps it needed more episodes? Hope this helps.

Fugou Keiji is a good anime to binge watch. I had a good time watching it. The comic reliefs did great job for adding humor to the plotline. The plot seemed really good, especially the plot twists at the very end. I tried thinking if I really want a season 2 of this anime or not, but I came to the conclusion that, even though the anime was pretty good, I still don't feel desperate enough for a season 2. Although the protagonists are to die for, not gonna lie :3 . I dont watch much of the mystery genre, but yet I've felt that the anime was good, but not great. Kambe Daisuke and Kato Haru made an amazing pair. I would personally rate this a good 7/10. Recommendable.

Ok so here is my review for Millionaire Detective : Balance Unlimited. This is my first review so bare with me. I just completed this anime and wow! It was absolutely amazing. At first I thought it was kinda a slice of life for first couple of episodes. Even thou I don’t like slice of life stuff, I continued to watch. After that was the turning point. All the small mysteries connected. The twists were really great. I wasn’t able to find most of them. Story : 9 The story is very unique and good. A millionaire detective working with a person with a love towards justice. It was interesting to watch the two characters work together. Art : 9 I don’t really know much about art and stuff so lemme skip this Sound : 8 It was good but not up to the mark. The op was really good thou. Character : 10 Best part about the anime. Daisuke Kambe is literally one of my favorite characters now. As I said before both characters have their own tastes and idea of justice. Enjoyment : 10 Wonderful experience. I was really interested to watch the next episodes. It was funny too. Overall : 9 Amazing anime! I really want more of “ Balance Unlimited ” phrase. Animes gets boring at some points in the episodes. That’s the only issue with this golden anime. Otherwise am absolute 10! I would suggest any comedy, thriller, mystery fan to go watch this! I really want them back for a season 2 thou the anime ended perfectly. That’s all! Thanks for your patience. I hope this review helped….

When I heard of this anime for the first time, I thought that it would be just a normal and episodic fun anime where there might be a different case in every episode and there would be some comedy involved to it. But I was proven wrong completely. The art, the story, the sound all are absolutely perfect. And in the short span of these 11 episodes a proper story is also delivered to the viewer which makes the anime more amazing. The story is about a super wealthy man Daisuke Kambe who joins Japan Police agency as an Inspector and started solving cases under Kato Haru. Now the question about why he joins the force and what is his benefit in it is to be revealed when you will watch the show. Overall I would say that it is a very beautiful worked and thought anime. The only reason why I deducted 2 points from the overall score is because the story on which the anime was based had much more potential to grow. Hope they can do that if they are planning to release a second season. Otherwise it is very enjoying and a must watch anime.

Synopsis: Daisuke Kanbe, a man of extraordinary wealth, was assigned to the Modern Crime Prevention Headquarters as a detective. It is there that he partners with Haru Katou, a human detective who values justice above all else. The two are polar opposites and their morals continually clash. Haru despises Daisuke for using monetary wealth to solve cases, believing that money isn't everything. The two will have to join forces, however, to solve the mysteries that are emerging. My opinion about the anime: I just loved this anime, and I found 11 episodes very little, I hope it has a second season. I had a lot of fun in this plot, I cried, I laughed a lot, I got angry, I loved it more. A super engaging anime with a surprising mystery.

Okay , so i went into this anime mostly because of the art style and the visuals but this anime has been a let down to my expectations. Okay, so for starters, the art style is good ,the music okayish and the first couple of episodes do make you feel interested for the show, but that's where all the good things about the show end. The story goes downhill from here. Instead of a James bond anime equivalent of what i expected i get a very bland show with typical bland characters. Apart from an old guy who was a side character, no one else shows any sort of genuine character development . Sad to say I did not enjoy this show as much as I expected I would, this has been a let down for me. This show had good potential and I would recommend this show for those who need background noise while they be busy on their phone . I'm disappointed to say the least.

Fugou Keiji: Balance Unlimited was a very fresh take on a modern detective story. I'll be reviewing the series based on the few characteristics that are worth noting. First, music and sound. The anime series has amazing intros and outros, they are very modern and even remind me of american/kpop sounds which is very enjoyable. Throughout, the score was interesting as it is reminiscent of old american detective shows or movies, and it keeps a very James Bond-esque air around the character of Daisuke Kanbe. Second, story. The story begins with a quite slow introduction of the characters, with the backgrounds of each MC revealed later on in the series. It first starts with harmless and minor detective stories then quickly picks up its pace and delivers a more multi-layered story. That's when the most fun occurs! The story is relatively told in a serious tone, perfect so that there are no jokes that take you out of the moment or are too carried away. Third, characters. I think that the characters are fleshed out in a way that you understand them very well very quickly, the backgrounds of the 2 MCs are also discussed and further develops. Yet I also think there was a lot of potential wasted between the two, the connection between them is instant and yet as a viewer, it's also clear how distant they are. Though I liked that their dynamic is not over-exaggerated and up to the viewers to interpret for themselves. Overall, I think that it was enjoyable if you like light action and good, likable characters that are only complex to a certain degree. As the plot thickens, you ultimately will feel more for the characters and root for them. I think that it was a very fun and quick series that will leave you refreshed, the characters are drawn in a style that I enjoy which is an added plus. I do believe that is isn't perfect, and I wished that the pacing, development of characters and more comedic elements were introduced, but it was surprisingly a solid good time.

Quick take: somewhere between James Bond and your average cop show, this series attempts to make a landing worth noting. It ends up mediocre on several levels, leading to a disappointing series. The last few episodes are decent, but are weighed down by average to below average rest of the season. The storyline in regards to character is both simplistic and complex. In other words, you have good cop and bad cop, except the "bad cop," isn't really "bad" so much as misguided rich boy. While not doing things by the book, it becomes annoying fairly fast when you have Daisuke refuse to explain anything to Haru. What ends up happening is Daisuke comes off as an annoying prick more than a hero/good guy/bad cop. On that end, there is no balance, unlimited or otherwise, on the main characters. Indeed, Haru has his own issues, coming off as more of a putz than a cop going through a bad time. This makes it hard to like either of the characters, in my opinion and leads to a halfway decent story spotted by poor characters. It's a shame, because despite the storyline starting off really slow, it picks up during episodes 6-11. We're even treated to some welcomed plot twists. This issue is that they're presented poorly. It's hard to describe, but imagine being told theirs fireworks and seeing someone light a sparkler. Sure, you know it's a firework, but you expected something a bit more grandiose. Finally, it was hard to take the show seriously due to the ridiculous spending by Daisuke - and I know it's supposed to be comedy, but I didn't really smirk until the after credits in episode 11. The whole show felt like it was unsure what path to go - serious or comedic. Balance: Unlimited has a good start, but is very poorly wrapped. Worth a watch if you like cop shows or spy shows, but don't expect to be blown away.

The plot is decent and it could've been a great anime if it wasn't for the terrible writing. The plot has full of cliche moments. It starts off good but you can predict the moments or what the characters will do. It's more like a guessing game every time a character does something. I'll rate it 4 because it started off well. The art is good. Honestly. The animation is the only thing that didn't make me drop this anime. I'll rate it 7. The sound is okay. Sometimes it's annoying like every time the characters do some cool shit, the same sound just plays over and over. It's not that of a bad thing but I just didn't like it. Rating it 4. The characters are so mediocre. It's like the cliche characters and dialogues. I just skipped most of the scenes and couldn't handle the cringe. You can literally think "oh this is the thing he's gonna say right now". The character development comes off as fake because it doesn't really resonate with me. The characters literally do stupid shit and act like fools even though they are detectives. 1 is the highest I could do. I did not enjoy it. At first, I did. Everyone was hyped because of the anime, so I thought, might well as watch it. A bad decision, truly. Wasted my time watching this cringe-worthy anime. This might well as be a kids' genre. Enjoyment: 2. I'm rating it 3, a decent number for this anime. If you can, don't watch it. A waste of time.
