I came for the pretty rich man in a suit and I certainly wasn't dissappointed. I get the feeling this was the point of the anime being made so, if you're here for more than that then you might be dissappointed. However, there is still some substance to it. They don't completely cop out and there's some decent humanisation in there behind the unlimited bank account. The two main characters have to learn to accept how and why the other one does police work their way, and in the process they come to trust and respect eachother enough to use eachothers strengths and methods. Overall, I enjoyed it.

The first four episodes of this anime started out very character-driven, and I absolutely loved them. The characters are super interesting and I was immediately invested. However, after those first four episodes, the whole story got lost in a super convoluted plot that really mostly just confused me. It wasn't interesting and it had very little bearing on what I cared about until that point. Overall, I was much more interested in the characters than the plot, and the characters barely got time to breathe from episode five on, which really wasted the potential of the initial setup. That said, I still VERY highly recommend episodes one through four, and based on just those I would rate this anime a 10 across the board. I don't recommend watching the rest.

On first glance, Millionaire Detective seems like Sherlock Holmes if were rich instead of smart, following the Japanese Anime Cliches. However, once you watch the first episode, you can't help but enjoy it a lot. Based on the novel of the same name, Millionaire Detective follows the story of Haru Kato, a washed up detective who is now a part of Crimes Prevention Squad (which is just a front for doing small tasks as cops such as Crowd Control, Evacuation etc) who must deal with a new member of their squad Daisuke Kambe, a millionaire who often tries to solve cases in the most extravagant and expensive way. From the first episode alone you fall in love with the character of Daisuke Kambe from his suave persona, to cool guy personality and the fact that his loaded. You also sympathise with Haru who often has to deal with Kambe's antics and expenses (even though it is paid by him). Halfway into the anime, the story starts to feel bland. The second half does follow a continuous story where we learn more about Daisuke Kambe, the secrets of his family and his motives behind joining the police force. However, it seemed poorly executed as I didn't enjoy it as I have enjoyed the previous episodes. Regardless, Millionaire Detective is an enjoyable anime and it is still worth a watch. If you love Detective Mystery Thrillers, and Millionaire stories and want to see them together at the same screen, Millionaire Detective is just for you. The story, animation, characters and the opening theme song will make it worth your while. Even at the second half.

God I wanted to like this show. Like I remember hearing about it when it originally aired and being interested. Then I saw a clip of the first episode on YouTube and I immediately added it to my watch later list. But unfortunately I was disappointed when I finished it. Not to say it was bad, I've seen far worse shows recently, but with this show I really felt like there was potential and that they really wasted it. TLDR: 6/10 Fun watch, wasted potential. Music (8): One of the things I want to talk about most is the soundtrack. Because this show has some BANGERS. Like I'm a big sucker for jazz and there are some tracks that freaking hit. However half the time during the show it felt like they didn't really understand how to use their soundtrack. Sometimes (specifically with Kambes theme) it would be way too overbearing for the situation. Expanding on Kambes theme, its a good track but they never used it well. It was always "when Kambe is on screen his theme plays". It was never used to foreshadow his entrance and it was always the same short part of it. There were also times when there was almost no soundtrack at all and it made certain scenes feel really dragged out and unimportant. The only time I felt they used the soundtrack correctly was in the last scene from the last episode. Where a modified version of Kambes theme underscores a chase scene and its AWESOME. Like could they not figure out how to do this earlier? Also the OP and ED both slap. Characters (5): There is no character development. One of the things I wanted most was some FREAKING CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. Kambe never changes. He's never truly separated from his wealth in a time of crisis, so I never felt like he was actually in danger. And his mentality is never questioned or changes from episode one to episode eleven. Haru is always playing the straight man to Kambes actions and is never his own character, he starts as the trope of a cop who only seeks justice. But sometimes switches to an emo mode where he thinks about his past actions. At the beginning there was some fake drama between Haru and Kambe, that is never really resolved. And the two never really feel like friends or partners. The story is just like "yeah of course they're the only two that could work together. Besides those two there are like 4 other characters that are important, none of whom have any interesting motivations or that change with the series in any meaningful way. Story (5): God, this is probably the hardest section to write. Like there was so much that could have happened. But nothing did. Without going into any spoilers. The first few episodes are very episodic before an abrupt transition into a serialized story. Which is fine, but I think that this transition wasn't done very well. And personally I found the first few episodes outside of episode 1 pretty boring. Once the story starts to pick up though, there are too many plotholes. There are too many "ha gotcha" moments. There is no foreshadowing. None of the characters feel like they truely are interacting with the story. More like they just exist in it. Things happen way to coincidentally, and I never feel like any of the characters want anything. There are so many ideas that would have been good if they were executed right, and there were also plenty of terrible ones too. Art (6): Probably the least important thing I need to talk about is the art. It's not bad. At times it's even good. But some of the action can feel like none of the characters have any weight and there are some questionable choices of shot angles. Gets the job done and doesn't look terrible.

Starting the plot somewhere around episode 6 when you only have 11 episodes to hash the story out isn't a good idea. Had events from around ep6 began in ep1 I'd probably have given it a much higher score. I liked the two main characters and only wished I could see better chemistry between them. By the end of episode 11 I was left with a feeling of "there's more right?", only to be disappointed that the show ended after finally arriving to the meat and potatoes of the story. It just seemed too overdone for what was actually going on plot-wise. Half the time I kept thinking that episodes were being sacrificed for plot convenience because they wanted a reason to show all the cool bond-esque tech.

I saw everyone super hyped about this anime back when it first came out but when I finally got around to watching it myself, I was so disappointed. I watched the first couple of episodes a while ago and then dropped it only to come back to it again to finish it just because I was hoping it'd get better. But it didn't get better, it was soooooo boring to watch. The fighting wasn't that eventful, the plot was generic, and the characters weren't all that likable. If an anime is only going to have 11 episodes then each episode should be packed with interesting things but this one was just not living up to the hype in my opinion.

This anime was actually had a lot of potential but the one thing that bothered me the most is that there were only 11 episodes and there was a filler episode. I mean, who the hell does that? Also there are too many loose ends. Most of it wasn't explained properly. I guess the anime was trying to leave some to the imagination of the viewer but that did not work at all because they didn't give us much story to work with other than the fact that the main character is richer than Jeff Bezoz and Elon Musk combined. Its one of those animes where you think that the storyline is nice but when you actually watch it, you're disappointed because they could have done so much with it but they didn't.

Story- good in the start, 'wow' in the middle, good story ending but it's like they rushed it. I don't know what happens after the incidents in the last episode. Art- the art is not bad, HD and enjoyable animation Sound- the sound effect is good (not like other action shounen) Character- the character development is not bad. First think I don't like the character but end up I like it. "Don't know so don't love" Enjoyment- this series make me feels curious about the story. The opening is awesome, have 'rich references'. The ending is dope tho, the bass make it feels like detective. The way they solved the mystery is great. Overall (7/10)- It's have a good story but it's little short for mystery story. The technology Daisuke have make it fast so solved the mystery. I like the series but need explanation after the incidents. I hope there will have a sequel...

People holding insanely high expectations for this show are missing the point. If you’re looking for an intricately crafted detective show with deep lore and plot, this is probably not the show for you. I initially had in mind to rate this an 8 due to some gripes but I changed it to a 10 based on sheer entertainment alone. This show is meant to be fun— and that’s exactly what it is! With over-the-top insane concepts and unrealistic fight scenes, the sheer ridiculousness of this anime is what makes it for me. I didn’t rate this a 10 because it’s the best detective show I’ve ever watched, I rated it so high because it gave me smiles, laughter and facepalms I haven’t felt in a long time while watching a show. Haru and Daisuke’s interactions alone were enough to enrapture my attention, but the art style as well is stunning. My only criticism of Millionaire Detective is that it sort of lost steam animation and pacing-wise at the end. But even that is excusable, at least for me, because it made me happy to watch all the way to the end. And of course— the opening and ending songs … absolutely nailed the feel of the show and slap way too hard.

Boring and forgettable. That pretty much sums up how I feel about Balance: Unlimited. (spoiler free)
Story - 2 The story gets two points because it was interesting at the start. Unfortunately the first episode was this anime’s peak, from then on things slowly went downhill. Halfway through the anime is where things just start to shoot downhill. A plot is brought up relating to the millionaire detective himself... and it’s boring... and way too complicated to understand for how boring it is.
Art - 6 The art is okay, however it looks a bit off at times, lazy. Sound - 3 Don’t really remember any of the soundtracks. I think the opening was eh, not worth listening to.
Characters - 1 The characters had so much potential to be really well written. However they just exist. That’s all. They don’t develop, their traits aren’t explained, they don’t even really show a ton of emotion. I don’t get how anyone could really root for any of the characters when they are so plain and forgettable.
Enjoyment - 2 This anime was a chore to watch as it continued. I was hoping for a cool anime about solving mysterious with the character dynamic between the two detectives, but it was just a boring mess.
Overall - 2 It was so boring. I can’t find anything redeeming about this anime. This anime could have been a lot better, and it does have an interesting concept which is the two detectives with different ideas of how a case should be solved having to work together. But this concept doesn’t actually play as big of a role as you think it will in the anime. Skip this and watch Great Pretender if you want something that’s actually funny and enjoyable.

I absolutely LOVED this series, it was honestly extremely well-written and I had such a good time watching. Though, I feel the series was quite rushed, and didn't allow characters to be fleshed out a ton. Characters like Ryo were left flat and boring despite their correlations with the main cast, and though I enjoyed them for what time they had on screen, it just made them feel more like cardboard stands than actual humans. Maybe this was due to budget or something of the sort, (not having enough time to do so, I know of animes getting cut short [cough cough, promare]) but even so, it hindered my enjoyment of the series, no matter how good the rest of it was.

This show gives so much Korean drama vibe. It's short and compact, there is no useless stuff to make it longer than it needs to be; nothing annoying with characters, or story is there. It is quite focused, more drama or comedy material could be involved but it is just not what the show was going for which is I believe short summer TV show vibes. I wish it had more fillers and side stories because I loved the characters, but keeping it simple and focused has its own charms. Overall, it is a great show that is fun to watch.

Story: 6/10 I do like the first few beginning episodes of this one as the two main characters solve problems together. In my opinion I find the last few episodes boring when they start investigating about Daisuke's family history. Art: 10/10 Nothing much to pick about the art, the art is amazing. It is the art style which I like, comfort for my eyes I would say. Sound: 8/10 I do enjoy the ending, it's very unique from other anime endings and it's really catchy. Character: 7/10 This is a 13 episode anime so I get it that the development between the two main characters needed to be rushed a bit. Personally I feel like a bit more bounding and understanding could be done for them in the first few episodes before they became good friends. I do like the personality of both characters. Enjoyment :6/10 The story in the last few episodes ruined it for me so 6 out of 10. Overall:6/10 I don't regret watching this but if I were to recommend anyone any anime, there're better options out there.

I initially picked this up after seeing a few clips on YouTube, including a compilation of badass Daisuke Kanbe clips. I had high hopes for the show, in turn, but was sadly disappointed. The premise - a rich guy on a mission paired with a detective whose strict moral code hinders him more than helps - is certainly interesting. However, the episodes lack intensity or urgency; Kanbe-to-the-rescue with his OP-wealth-technology-combo quickly stales as it turns every mystery or difficult situation into a relatively benign and easy solve. Even at the end, when there is a true multiple-episode arc centering around a single case, the pacing continues to be rushed, leaving little time to savor any surprises or plot twists. As a result, the story just ends up being...boring. If you're looking for a complex mystery/detective series with a compelling plot, I would not recommend this anime. Alternatively, if you're looking for a classic OP MC story but not in isekai format, I would also not recommend this show - the badassery is ruined by the awkward pacing, and there's no comedic impact either. The show is not geared to be a comedy, but its quickly-resolved conflicts and OP MC also prevent it from being intense. That all said, the greatest disappointment in this anime comes from the absolute lack of character development. Kanbe begins as a stoic ends-justify-the-means protagonist, and despite the backstory he is provided, he doesn't exhibit much emotional growth through the series. Making him remain poker-faced and unemotional may have been intentional, but it really makes the whole show taste like ramen noodles without the seasoning packet. I didn't want to rip this show apart, but honestly, it stood out to me as being quite bad. For me, a generic and uninspiring show would rank as a 5/10. This, in my opinion, fares slightly worse - at least with a generic show, while there may not be originality, good execution can still lead to decent enjoyment.

Looking at the ratings here, I was expecting the show to be a bummer, but now that I have completed it, I am confused about the same. It had everything a crime thriller should have, even more than that rather. Especially, the last few episodes were a roller coaster ride, I was on edge all the time! The art, music, animation - loved it all. I think one place that many people think its lacking in, is the relationship between the two MCs. Well, this show is quite different form the classical detective movies that we are used to, one of the reasons being this very dynamic between those two. I was actually glad we weren't showed the 'expected' bond between the two but rather something unique that few people can understand the depth of. It made the show more realistic too as you shouldn't really expect two rather opposite people to become best buddies out of the blue anyways. In all I really enjoyed, huge thanks to the creators of this show and everyone involved in its making.

I started this anime with huge expectations but I'm sad to say that I'm not enjoyed while watching it. Just keep it cause I only wanted to see how this plot gonna end. Story: 5 Personally, for the first time, I predicted the end of the story in my whole life. Also, the pathetically main plot of the story started in like 5th chapter. And for me, it was a weak story for a detective anime. I was waiting for something more complicated. Also, I hated that the whole anime is about Daisuke and his money. Art: 6 Character design and the art style were average. It wasn't the best but I liked it a little. And the animation was a little bit weak but not a big deal. Sound: 6 I don't even care about sound while watching the show. But I can't say it was bad. Characters: 3 In the first episode, while we didn't saw Daisuke yet, everything was pretty good. I really liked Haru and even started to be curious about his back story. But whenever Daisuke has come and started to splurge with his money this was the time that I started to not enjoy it anymore. It was pretty obvious that they made him that way to attract the teen girls, and I hated it. Enjoyment: 3 The story was weak, I don't like the literally mean character, art was average, after one or two episodes later I started to ask myself "Why am I still watch this thing?" so if I say I really enjoyed this show it would be a lie.
