On a war out break, how a country treating it's citizen as outcast and sending particular ethinics to the battlefield while majorities are in the commanding level, that's the short summary of the 86. It portrays struggle of people of 86th region of Republic of San Magnolia. Alongside Fumetsu no Amata e, this is the best anime from this season of summer 2021. So, there is a advanced warfare is going on between San Magnolia and Giadian Empire. Term 'advance' indicates, they don't need human troops on the battlefield to fight against the enemy, but mostly machinery droids seems to posses artificial intelligence. Dirty work is being done by the Republicans by stating their 86th state as place of battlefield and declaring the people of 86 as dead. Even with sign of life in 86th state, most Republican with silver call themselves Alba, don't believe it so. A group of survivors from 86 called Shepherd Squadron comes in contact with a handler named Lena, prove her enough to believe, there are actual people still surviving in 86. Not all of them are War machines. Lena tries to reach out to them, but she fails for several times as in other regions of Ruplic and capital, 86 is conspired as dead state with no citizens. In the mean time, she forms a bond with the surviving members Shepherd squadron. And their journey continues till they meet each other for real rather than on virtual contact, when the war is actually over. Highly recommended, if you are into war and Mecha anime. 😂

86. At first glance it looks like a another mecha war anime, focused on the theme of war and diplomatic and socioeconomic relations, or rather, that idea that many of us may have when watching the first episode of this anime of the spring season of 2021. 86 is not an anime focused primarily on themes of war or science fiction, but rather, in the suffering of it; the agony of humans going through tragic situations. It should be noted that this review comes from someone who has NOT seen the original product (the LN) but the adaptation made by Toshimasa. History: 7. Something that characterizes this series is its very slow construction of the world. Many viewers tend to feel the series heavy when they see the little context it gives and the information that is thrown at once. 86 is full of terminology that when someone starts watching the anime, they might not have the slightest idea what the hell the characters are talking about. So to see this series you need patience. The more chapters you advance, the more you understand the context. There comes a time where you already have an idea of what is happening and you can understand what each word means. At that point, everyone manages to feel comfortable with the plot. But what about the story of 86? One of the biggest criticisms this anime receives is the lack of plot. Why is there so much discrimination? What the hell are the Legions? And what about the other nations in the world? From my personal point of view, and as I mentioned before, 86 is an anime which must be patient. I can't count this lack of information as a fault as this is just the introduction to the story (and I also can't give it more than a 7 for it). But if there is one thing that is clear to me, it is that as I mentioned at the beginning of the review, 86 does not focus on the war part and I will touch on this more in depth in the character section. Art: 9. I have absolutely no complaints here. Everything visual is excellent. The design of the mechas, which may be unpleasant for many, is still quite good. The CGI used for them is very good and it never feels artificial; the animator has done a very good job. As for animation and drawing in general, there are not many moments where it declines. 86 may not have a Mappa or WIT studio level animation level but it is still very good. Sound: 10. Coming to what we all agree is the best point. All the sound part is done excellently. The sound effects, the voice acting, the Sawano soundtrack, the opening and the 2 endings, everything is very well taken care of. The production has strived to make the anime a good listening experience. But what else do you want me to say? Just watch, or rather, listen to the anime and you will realize. Characters: 9. As I mentioned before, the characters are the mainstay of the plot, without them, 86 makes no sense. The anime knows how to depend on the development of characters and their weight in the work. From the protagonist Lena, the main Shin, and the secondary ones, each one has a role that makes you become fond of them. I can't go into much detail because I don't want to spoil it, so I'll try to give vague details. The 2 main characters in the work are wonderful. Not only for its development but for its background; they give meaning to the work. 2 characters located in 2 totally different environments that, in addition to having a good chemistry between them, manage to have a weight in the story: they do things, they manage to move the plot, they give it development, and at the same time, not the whole plot turns in around them, since 86 also has secondary at its disposal that despite not having so many dialogues, they manage to make the viewer take a liking to them. And when it comes to character development, I have only one thing to say: excellent. I won't say anything else, I'll let people see all the changes these two characters have. But sadly, this is not all roses. 86 has a sin, and that is forcing you to hate certain characters. Although there are some who do questionable things, their actions are understandable, but at the same time there are characters that seem to be made purely for you to hate and leave the heroes of this story well. Although I don't like this, I have faith that the author will improve this problem in the future. Enjoy: 9. This section is very subjective so I won't say much, but I have to emphasize that this section WILL HAVE SPOILERS. I personally loved how the work was adapted. One of the things I would like to highlight is the lack of melodrama. I consider myself an enjoyer of "cheesy" plays: I like to be psychologically manipulated in order to get into the plot more, but I still managed to enjoy the use of dramatic scenes in this anime. While it is true that there are many shocking, emotional scenes that can make the viewer cry, there are also crude, cold scenes. At one point someone dies suddenly, and at another time someone crying with dramatic music in the background. I also liked the action scenes. They're not a big deal, but they do manage to keep the viewer tense. Especially the battle of Chapter 9: spectacular in the sense of weight in the plot. Overall, 86 strikes me as one of the best anime coming out this year. I could not say if it is the best of his season since he has 2 great rivals (Vivy and To Your Eternity), but it still manages to be on the throne. It's not a series for everyone, yes, but I think it's worth at least giving it a try. Finally, I would like to thank both the A1 team and the original author for giving us an anime that has already won many fans. See you in the second season, or maybe we'll see you sooner considering that a special is coming at the end of June. I wonder what it is about ...

I have never written a review for any anime but after watching 86 I just can't sit back and let it rest as just another anime that I've watched and on my list as only a 10. For me, this anime had everything I ever wished any anime would have. I went in with low expectations because I normally find myself not liking "hyped" animes as much as others. But for once I was blown away. The first thing I realized was the almost perfect music score that accompanied this anime. There are scenes where the walking of the characters is synced to the music and overall the whole score felt like it was painting the background of a picture in just the right ways - It supported what you saw without distracting from the main theme of the painting and gave the whole canvas the feeling of being alive. Score 11/10 The characters even though sometimes a bit stereotyped were moving had a great introduction and you generally cared for every single member that was introduced, feeling every single bit of pain they felt or felt relieved when a situation was resolved. Score 9/10 The Art goes hand in hand with the music often synchronized and just all in all very well done to a point that even the CG just looked fantastic. Not much more to say than it was eye candy through and through. Score 10/10 Story-wise I can't say much without spoilers so I'll keep it short. I haven't read the LN but from what I saw and experienced the story is on par with some of the other greatest animes I've ever seen and moving to the core. Score 10/10 My overall enjoyment of the show was a solid 11/10 and I can pretty much say with confidence that it is the best show I've seen since multiple seasons. The only thing I can think of that would deter anyone from enjoying this is that sometimes the scenes drag on to let an emotion settle in or that the anime tries to convey the story without words letting the music and scenery do the talking. For me those are all positive things but be warned if you feel a strong distaste for such things. Overall enjoy the show and watch this rollercoaster of emotions have fun :) Duneram

I have watched many sci-fi,mecha anime but this is the most thrilling piece of art which i have been craving for my entire life. The animes i have watched so far had half of what i actually wanted, but this anime gave what i wanted in one shot. The character development, entire story is mind blowing. Those who haven't watched it yet i strongly recommend it to them. The boy mc named shinei nouzen is a total badass overpowered person who expresses no emotion, Lives in hard environment and many more. And as for the girl mc,she is somewhat a military personnel who gives them instructions on how to defeat the legions. Though i wanted to say more I can't due to giving out spoilers unintentionally. Hope those who watches my review also watches the anime though it isn't all that hyped like AOT(Attack on Titan) right of this moment. Though it is underrated hope you watch it and have a great time.

This is, by far, one of THE MOST overrated anime I have ever seen. Some even have the nerve to call this a "masterpiece." Are you for real? Lets begin the dissection of this by the numbers, dystopian future nonsense. Here we go. First, the story. Oh god, this story. Nothing pisses me off more than this ridiculous plot. The 86 are NOT being rebellious. They are being stupid. Towards the end of the first season, they show how the 86 crew CAN survive in the wilderness. It is difficult, but they have the option. SO what do these geniuses do? They sit there and run head first into their deaths like a bunch of moron moths flying to the bright light that is laser beams and hot lead. I only really have one thing to say to this: Come the F' on. If they REALLY wanted to stick it to those silver haired Nazis, they shouldve been smuggling and hoarding amunition and food so they could escape. If they are gonna die like dogs, then why protect the people that treat you like dogs? The silver hairs live a make believe lie that would all come crashing down when the flood would hit their gates. Again, completely stupid and irrational. That irrationality REALLY makes me dislike this anime. It would be one thing if it were Stokholme Syndrome, but it isnt. These guys know they are being led to their deaths like lambs to the slaughter and what do they say? "Thur, yeth Thur! DERRRRR!" Utter and complete nonsense. The art is the only redeaming quality in this anime. At least the animators did great. I dont care about music in anime. Thats not what I'm here for. Overall, I not only didnt enjoy forcing myself to finish this crap, I wouldnt push this garbage on ANYONE and I would NEVER recommend this anime to a single soul on this entire galaxy. But, dont worry, there are A LOT of overrated dystopian future anime. Most of them are overrated. This is one I CANT STAND having it be so highly rated when there are soooooo many better anime out there. This is garbage. If you like this, thats on you. But you will never convince me otherwise that this anime is any good. Those are my two cents.

As someone who lives in a country where discrimination of race by law actually exist, this hits home harder. No, not forced into war or sacrificed etc, but there are preferential treatment to citizens with the right race in terms of finance and career opportunity. That being said, 86 is a great series to me because of how the characters didn't give up on living their lives as they choose to be. Despite the inhumane treatment, they would rather challenge the authority by stubbornly survive as a group. 86 tells a story of discrimination, deception to its citizens and complacency. Although one can put the blame on the entire population of Republic San Magnolia, it is refreshing to see that some of the population are aware on the discriminatory practice and wish to have the power/courage to change. Because the entire "native" race isn't at fault, the sinister practice lies in the top brass of the country who perpetuate this practice in order to gain authority and control. However even when given the keys to the nation governing power, it fails to adapt to the environment and are at risk of collapsing to the machine army that went rouge. While the action of the mecha battle scene are not the best (3D) it doesn’t diminish the overall experience for me since the crux of this show is the story and characters. However the somber moments are beautiful and well animated, I wish they went more into the environment of sector 86 where most of the story are hold. The soundtrack is amazing, it seems Hiroyuki Sawano hit another great track with ost that doesn’t overwhelm the scene too much like in Attack on Titan. The sound effect is great too the weight of shells, bullets impact are well portrayed, environment sound when it is suitable. The ending song even ends up in my spotify most played wrapped list. There are a lot of characters in the first half of the show that sadly didn’t get as much back story and screen time. But each one almost comes off as someone who existed, with their desire and flaws. My own take is there should been more Republic’s character that stick around to contrast the 86 squad. That said, I think for an 11 episode season it did well in developing the main characters. Should you watch it? Absolutely. Should you like it? Its up to you, I’m well aware of my bias when it comes to 86 since there is personal experience that relates me to it. But I think people should give this a chance, if they are interested in something other than isekai genre.

86 is a great anime to binge with a lot of attachment to the main characters. If you like an action-packed war anime that has a unique and futuristic story, this anime is great for you. It does a great job at world-building without cutting out the action. The world is intricate yet not overly complicated to the point where the story becomes confusing. The main characters have very interesting personalities that develop throughout the store, however, the side characters do not get enough screen time in my opinion. This makes some side characters lack any complexity. Like many anime, the art quality was not entirely consistent, where some action scenes got a lot more detail than others. Overall, it was still very high quality, with some scenes being even greater quality.

Having just finished this first season a few moments ago, I'm already feeling a little empty, nostalgic, and choked up... but definitely ready for more! In only 11 episodes, "86" delivers an unforgettable journey into a lore-rich world of conflict, containing beautiful characters, their very relatable stories, and deep reflections about the human condition (death, discrimination, and -especially- empathy). Up to season 1's last episode, this show has a masterful balance of drama and dialogue, world building, exciting action, emotion, and even simple yet effective comedy. To add to the mixture, everything looks and sounds outstandingly, with special mention to an exquisite selection of songs that conform an almost perfect soundtrack. "86" has it all and every single minute is seized all the way to the top. Fellows, we could be talking about a modern classic right here, so please get into it ASAP.

This is my first time writing an anime review and I feel like I just have to do it with 86. In this anime, the term masterpiece applies to it very well (even if it should be just my opinion). A-1 Pictures is known for producing anime with a good art style, but at 86 I felt like they put a lot of time and work into it. The soundtracks are first class! The story can seem confusing for one or the other at the beginning, but after a few episodes you get in and everything is much more understandable. I think the characters are pretty well written too, unfortunately some characters were neglected because they didn't get much involved in the story. All in all this anime is definitely a blast and the pros override the cons because it is close to impossible to make a series literally "perfect". So we have to make a borderline and I think 86 made it to this line. Amazing Anime, I can only recommend watching it!

Well, this was a very nice surprise this year. Good story, good characters, well handled mature themes, does not treat the viewers as idiots and some slick mecha action. That ticks all the checkboxes for me! The story has a couple plot holes (mainly about why no 86 unit rebels or goes AWOL) but it is otherwise solid. The characters are well written, the female lead gets a nice developing arc, and over the episodes we get some nice backstory for most characters. But the main success of the series is that is able to treat themes of racism, genocide and war with respect and good taste. It also showcases the saying that goes 'The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing'. It depicts different kinds of racism and discrimination well enough (from blatant bigotry to other less obvious versions). And it does all that without simply saying'86s good, Albas bad'. And then the action side of the show is also well written and executed. It is also refreshing to finally see some anime that does not shy away from killing characters ala Game of Thrones. It really sets a mood of high stakes that makes the war setting much more believable. No plot armor here for anyone! All in all, a solid 9!

Ok, i try keep it short and dont get a lot into story and etc coz don't want spoiler anything so keep that in mind. Story was short yes 11 eps not even 12, it could be 24 eps but it is how it is and it was great. Rl glad that it got 2nd season. Art is great, fights, nature, cities and characters.. suits the anime style i should say. Ofc nothing mind blowing but just in place how it should be. With as i mention at 1st great thing. Sound/music was great also in place where it should be special effects and etc were great. Dont wish anything else from it. Character were interesting and had own story.. Enjoyment? What can i say.. outstanding ^^ Overall masperpiece. I wish to say more but thats involves spoilers. so i keep it as minimum. Sry for that if you wanted to hear more. Anyways i hightly recommend to watch this show who likes good story, mechas, war and emotional anime. And sry for bad gram if there is anything wrong.

Oh, 86. What can I tell you about it? An anime that, judging by its first two episodes, was sure to be a solid 4 out of 10, and that now makes part of my top 20 anime and a good candidate for anime of the year (at least until the release of the WEP finale). How did an anime that started with such a negative impression become my undisputed best of the season? First of all, I want to talk about two names: Jin Akategawa and Ishii Toshimasa. Jin Akategawa, as you may know, is one of the greatest sound directors of the industry; on the other hand, Toshimasa is a rookie director that was making his debut with 86. So when I was almost deafened by the first minute of the anime, I was sure to blame Toshimasa. Moreover, after 3 transitions between scenes that were made with food falling on the floor and making the sound of an atomic bomb while falling, my only thought was ‘here we go again, another project from studio A-1 Pictures that is left in the hands of an incompetent director. What isn’t my surprise then, when, by the end of the season, I’m considering Toshimasa for one of the best directors of the year (together with another rookie, Shin Wakabayashi)? That symbolisms hurt…god if they hurt. And yeah, on the bad side of things, I might say that 86 sound effects, despite being good, are quite too loud, and they even ruin some OSTs from Hiroyuki Sawano. And that’s the next thing I have to talk about: the OST compositor by excellence, the one that dismisses any presentation. As I said, 86 has some problems with its OST; the sound effects are too loud and the inserts often aren’t fitted in the ideal moments, starting and ending in the wrong parts. But Sawano doesn’t need to be at his best to be unquestionably excellent, and 86 is the living proof of that sentence. Not to mention that the ending song, written by Sawano itself, is straight-up beautiful. Now concerning the narrative… I might confess that 86 isn’t compelling at all in its first episodes. It sounded like the story of the princess of justice that lived among a country of pigs and was the only one with a good enough soul to care for the poor edgy teenagers called 86 that was fated to die. The only good point at the beginning was the interactions between the 86; even though the context was cruel, all of them (or at least, all of them that were not Shin) were acting like normal adolescents, having fun, teasing one another, and jovially hating the alba processors that were in charge of them. This atmosphere was immensely aided by the good character animation involving them, making each one unique, even if there were too many characters to give focus to each of them. Nevertheless, this convoluted start showed itself to be necessary soon after, to break all expectations. I won’t go into further details on 86 plot, to not spoil anything, but the anime manages to overcome and positively utilize its bad introduction to make a great discussion about discrimination and acceptance of difference (which for me, a white privileged guy that lives in the notably unequal society of Brazil, hits astonishingly close and sincerely puts me in a bad position), and a hell of great worldbuilding, which, far from being unpredictable, manages to be still hugely impacting and rock-solid. My 9 out of ten for the anime might sound too much, and I’m still not sure that I will be able to keep it, but judging by the way the context is escalating, I trust that the second season, that is announced for this year, will validate my score. Now about the characters: some may say they are the weakest point of the anime, and, though it’s difficult to state otherwise, I will try to do so. For me, Lena is one of the best characters of the year due to its evolution, which is special by the fact that there are almost no introspective dialogues to show her emotions; just the visual narrative and the context she’s in are enough factors to build her progression. About the others, the only one that shows any development is Shin; I don’t like his character arc, but I appreciate seeing such an edgy stereotype being deconstructed to make the character relatable and likable. Finally, I want to highlight the great work of CGI on the fighting scenes. Since many people dislike the use of CGI- and have their solid reasons to do so-, it’s good to see such solid work being done. In conclusion, 86 is one of the animes with greater potential I’ve recently watched. I suggest that, instead of the 3 episodes rule, you give it some more time, maybe 5 episodes, to engage in its world, and from there on it will be a great experience, with plenty of good messages and impacting scenes potentialized by a hands-down great direction and astounding OST. Maybe not a 9 out of 10, or at least not until Season 2 airs, but still a worthwhile experience that stands above the other seasonal animes.

I love this show, the music, the animation, its stunningly beautiful. The character designs are all great and so is the world that they inhabit, the writing for those characters are good as well. It's a bittersweet story though, with an ending I'm not likely to forget for awhile. I think the themes it wants to talk about are handled well for the most part, maybe a few slip ups here and there, but I think it presents them in the way they wanted to come across. All the characters resigning themselves to this life because its what the people want or there's nothing they can do to change it, I'm happy that's not the tone the show as a whole takes. You can change things, there is a point in trying even if it doesn't seem like it, death is scary and yet its also a part of life, something you must come to terms with at some point. Its hard to collect my thoughts on the themes, I'm not great at vocalising them, but I can say that they're good and the way they're presented has touched me in a way.

Although I fully expect this to be lost in the mass of other reviews that i'm sure are out for this series, I am going to write one anyways. This will not be a very in depth review, just going to hit on the points that stood out to me. To start off, I think this is a beautiful series that I did not expect to enjoy so much. First off the characters, so the "86" team members we focus on throughout the series are more or less battle hardened vets of a war that has numbed their minds to death and pain whilst enduring racial inequality and discrimination. Though bringing sensitive topics into a series is a bold move, it's certainly a bold move that I really interests me and honestly feels more engaging overall. Now onto how do characters deal with the death of other characters. The writer/creator of this series I think did this on purpose or it could just be speculation on my end however either way it was done right in my personal opinion. A character's death, with the exception of a few, are glossed over as if the writer wanted the audience to sort be removed from that emotion of sadness and loss just as the "86" members would purposefully numb themselves of their loss. To me this was a huge plus regardless of whether or not the writer purposefully did this or not as it forces the audience to move quickly move on and try not to dwell on it. Those were really the two main points that really got me hooked and made me enjoy the series a lot. Of course other things such as the art, story and music were amazing as well however if I included them in my review this would end up being a six paragraph review lol. Anyways, thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy(ed) the series as much as I did.

Don't have much to say. The anime got me hooked when it only had up to episode 3, and I ended up reading the entire source material before episode 4. Absolutely amazing adaptation, the OST direction is some of the best I've ever witnessed. There are a lot of anime original scenes in 86, since the first cour only adapted Volume 1 of the light novels, and they are so tonally on point that you'd be forgiven for thinking they were 1:1 adapting from the source material, with the exception of the (unfortunately necessary) classroom exposition themes. The story isn't primarily about the racism of the San Magnolians but rather the journey of Lena and the remaining 86, and it executes that exceptionally well. Excited for cour 2.

Literally binged watched the whole series in one night! This is a true masterpiece and really unforgettable! I love episode 8-11, it's just so touching and moved me to tears !!! Really great OST/ED song by Sawano Hiroyuki;Mizuki - AVID, the song is so so suitable for the anime. I love AVID!!!! I swear everytime I hear AVID, I will be reminded of the anime and all the scenes from episode 8-11!!!!! The theme is similar to Attack on titan, a lot of sacrifices made and the romance part of this anime is great too!!! I can't wait till the 2nd season!! It's gonna be so good!! I want Shinei to meet with Lena!!! Character development is real good too!! The backstory of each characters are well structured!

Absolutely amazing! A-1 has outdid themselves with this adaptation. They didn't skip anything, rather they added onto existing plot points. The story are told brilliantly. It covers a dark theme of racism, slavery, and war. If you would like something truly different, then this is the one for you. Animation is great. While I won't say that the character designs are perfect, it really is awesome. It brings me joy seeing the characters I see in Light Novels move. A-1 kept a consistent animation through the whole series, I hope that the second cour will be as great as this one. The opening, ending, and BGM hits hard. It really complement the scenes. The scenes A-1 added brought more life into the characters. Do note that 86 is a story that is headlined by its characters. From the beginning of the series to the end of the series, the development of the characters are one of the aspect I enjoy best. Each characters has minor or even major developments. This is truly an adaptation that won't disappoint light novel fans. By the way, did you know that 86 is an actual term that by definition means to "throw something out". I just found that very interesting.

86 started off with a rough first episode, but gradually captured my attention, taking my interest to its peak by the end of the third. Despite the promise I think it had, it ultimately falls short due to a lack of structure and plot direction. The flashy action scenes, decent soundtrack, and a failed attempt at writing a shallow drama and conveying "depth" through the use of dark, yet underdeveloped themes fail to make up for the awfully boring, unrealistic, and poorly developed characters. The show fails to explain anything related to its world setting - the war, the sudden shift to a fascist government of a supposedly prosperous democratic nation, and the motivations of the 86. As the early episodes went by, I became more and more anxious as I waited to receive some answers to these questions, but 11 episodes in, they remain a mystery. Despite the short runtime, the plot does not receive any care or attention, as the twists and turns that lead from past to present times are not realistic or believable at all. There are only 2 characters that are not completely flat: Lena, a teenage girl who sees the dystopian world of 86 through rose-tinted glasses and fights for equality and a better future for everyone; and Shin, who is basically her edgy, dark and brooding teenager counterpart. Both characters are shoddily written tropes, to be honest, and the show barely tries to shape any organic, meaningful relationships between the main cast. The rest of the characters just there, their only differentiating features being their names, hair and eye colour, and voice pitch. All of them serve as little more than cannon fodder. The other alba characters are even worse, they're literally copy pastes off a template, everything from their character design down to their personalities is recycled. "What does it mean to be human?" - is the question that this show wants you to ask yourself, and it makes it painfully obvious. However, despite the show's attempt to present a deep, complex story, it really is just a dystopian teen mecha action show that senselessly kills off characters to shock the audience into tears, yet somewhat pretentious and absolutely hollow to its core.

[WARNING: I review this as an anime only watcher then reading LN after eps 6, so this review has a little bit spoiler] First off, if you're looking for a sad drama and pity party about child soldiers, this show is (probably) not for you. 86 told the story from 2 perspective-- one is the oppressor (Lena) which hold strong sense of justice, but as sheltered as she was, her ideal felt fake, she was very naive and her speech was like as that SJW twitter users that spout justive for opressed's sake. And that's what makes me like her, because she felt so real, despite many people said otherwise. During the show, she became to understand that she understood nothing and how the battlefield was so detached from her life that she was unconsciously indoctrinated to treat processors just like mere pet, that her sympathy was just 'damn the puppy is dead that's so sad :(". Other one is the opressed side, an elite squadron that survived battlefied the longest thanks to a certain leader named Undertaker (Shin). They were described and potrayed like a cheerful family and how they were ready to die and entrusted their memories to their leader, hoping that someday Undertaker would get out of 86 sector and buried them at his final destination. The element of the show felt full of many plot points, like racism of both side, battles, emotional moments, and more. Thankfully, the directing and voice acting were superb and the feeling conveyed well, though once again, if you're looking for sympatetic feeling, this show isn't for you. But if you can relate to either Lena or Shin, the main protags, then continue watching and you can see why I rate this high. Minus point is only some lacking of world building that makes 86 has plot points and Lena's character a bit shallower and more naive in anime, but original scene in anime is pretty good.
