According to me this anime has become on of my all time favorites ..see this entire anime is based on skating and friendship and I love to skate since childhood plus the story mostly talks about friendship also that was even better in my opinion this point might contain a little spoiler there are six main characters and two of them are the main protagonists of this anime.the strength of this anime is the skating events that takes place plus the way they characterized each one of them in it. from the start till the finish it will give you an enormous positive vibe that will make you pay attention to the scene and among the six there must be some characters you'll like most. Not only skating it also contains some good humors.so those who like skating or interested in any sort of racing events I will highly recommend this anime.

This was a pretty good season, which has left us some little gifts like SK8. Nice and compact 12 episodes, thoroughly enjoyable and fun to watch. I’ll keep this short and sweet so you can spend the time doing something more amusing like watching this series ;). 1. Story mixed of good comedy and, actually, plenty of drama - checked. 2. Pretty great animation overall, particularly awesome on action skating scenes - checked. 3. Excellent OST throughout, including op (the best) and ed - checked. 4. Lovable fun characters (eye candy - matchablossom fan here), with their own stories, including the over-the-top, long lost brother of Tsukiyama (Tokyo Ghoul), and cute animal pet - checked. If you like anime like ‘Free!’ You’d enjoy this, they are made by the same director, you can totally feel the same vibes. Enjoy!

Story: I really enjoyed watching the anime, on the first time i was just excited about the art of the anime, but i was really into the anime after watching it. The story itself its really simple, but it gave a really cute and amazing message in the end. Art: The art of this anime its just incredible, i love the colors, the strokes, the animation itself. Its just masterpiece, the characters are just easy to know and recognize, i think the art of the anime will catch a lot of viewers. Sound: Its just perfect, i have nothing to add. Character: They're really interesting, but i just think they failed to develop some chacarters, which turned out to be very disappointing for me. Enjoyment: It was really entertainable, sometimes i just put the epidosde and i was so into it that i didnt see the time going by.

So the plot of the story mainly follows the fast and close friendship of Reki and Langa. Langa who is half Japanese teen, moves from Canada to Okinawa with his mother after his father dies. He is still grieving the loss of his father when he accidentally meets Reki who also happens to be in his class. Reki is an avid skateboarder and is intensely passionate about all things skateboarding especially design and construction. They quickly become friends and Langa is introduced to the underground world of “illicit skateboard racing.’’ From there the story progresses with a mostly male cast of characters who for the most part divest societal expectations of how masculinity is expressed. I won’t go into too much about the obvious plot about the races, Langa’ s skill development incorporating his expertise in snowboarding and other minutiae. What I want to touch on is that skateboarding in this show is a metaphor for life. It really is about these characters’ relationships and however you choose to interpret them. At a glance it only seems like a show that takes underground skateboarding wayyy too seriously. However, it could have been any activity because it’s not really what the story is about. I wish it was more episodes 🤷🏻♀️

⚠️Spoilers⚠️ It's a very basic anime but it's still a lot of fun to watch! My biggest problem is the story because it's pretty dumb lol and also for an anime about skateboarding... the skateboarding part is quite forgotten and misrepresented😅 Apart from a few tricks and details, the story itself does not pay a lot of attention to the sport. There is no such thing as "S" in real life, and that's the core part of the story: Skaters compete in "beefs" and bet stuff, which is pretty ridiculous and has nothing to do with the real sport. Also i have a little problem with the characters, although I understand why they use pseudonyms and hide their real identities... that sounds more like wrestling to me and not skateboarding haha Plus, what's the story? Langa's having a hard time after the death of his dad and meeting Reki and learning how to skate is helping him to recover and find happiness again...cool...but all of that is overshadowed by Adam's insanity hahaha. If the anime was just focused exclusively in the feelings of the characters, you know, the importance of friendship (langa x reki), the feeling of being inferior and inadequate that people have to confront in sports and life in general (Reki's low self esteem/Miya being left alone by his friends), a sappy slice-of-life, it would be fine; but NO! They really try to make skateboarding some life-or-death game with a crazy villain who is trying to end with our protagonists...and that is just so so ridiculous lol Adam is obsessed with skateboarding to the point he almost committed murder (I wish I was joking...). Everything it's so cartoonish? Too dramatic for an anime about skateboarding... It's a lot fun tho I really enjoyed it but I don't think it's amazing and it definitely don't deserves a 2nd season (I saw to many people asking for it lol) Ooh also I hate the ending because it kinda feels like we didn't achieve anything...like I said Adam is crazy and he's also a criminal (yeah) we have a police officer trying to catching him for the entire anime...and at the end that part of the story it's just forgotten and Adam is nice, just a misunderstood man...bullshit...I hate that. Like I said (imo) everything is kinda dumb but most of the characters are very lovable (my favorite is Reki) and you have a good time watching it😊 P.S: English is not my first language...sorry for any mistake🙃

It is 1 am and I should head to bed, but here I am writing a review just because I can! (excuse my grammar/spelling errors, I am barely conscious as of writing this. This is also more of a personal thing which I can look back and cringe at) Story: 7/10 The story in of itself is nothing original skating aside. We have the same standard "sports anime duo", one being the excited fanatic and the other the cool and talented. They are quite different but share the same love for <insert sport here> so they end up getting along because of it. That love being the spark which ignites their friendship. The "one guy surpasses the other which makes them jealous" plot line is also in no way revolutionary but the deal with Sk8 is that it doesn't need to be original. It carries itself well and uses the tropes in a fun way so we may not get bored. Art: 8/10 What can I say? There's a reason for there having been no skating centered anime before this. We were lucky to have Bones being the ones to animate this and bring this piece to life. In the wrong hands it would've looked stiff and unsatisfying, something you never want in an anime. Sk8 The Infinity has some absolutely amazing animated scenes, and the character designs only makes them better. The main cast all have their own distinct look which you can easily recognize without much thought being put into it. They are at the same time quite cleverly thought out and fit their personalities well. Sound: 7/10 It is solid! I don't really have much to say here except that I like it and the score fit the scenes well. Characters: 7/10 I really loved the characters, some thing which contradicts my score ha. Well, I loved the chemistry between the characters and is imo the factor that carries the show. The characters as individuals are completely fine but Reki and Langa as a pair simply radiates so much fun energy, and just seing them hang out makes me actually wish I made an effort in making friends. Joe and Cherry also have some very entertaining chemistry and their banter remind me of an old married couple. Shadow and Miya are also just a pair of fun characters to have around (Shadow deserved better). I've seen very mixed reviews about Adam and I can understand why. But for me he was simply *cheffs kiss*. Everyone calls him "Sk8er Dio" and I can't possible agree more with that statement. He was over the top and bloody hilarious. The only thing I'm unsure of is his ending, which I am not sure if I'm completely satisfied with. Enjoyment: 9/10 I had an absolute blast watching sk8! I know very well that it is no way a perfect anime and I can easily point out multiple flaws with the show. That aside, I just never found myself bored when watching sk8 (aside from the recap wth was that?). I waited excitedly every week for a new episode, watched the Banger opening all the way through, and always ended up with a crave to punch my screen whenever those bloody palm trees appeared. Overall: 8/10 Sk8 was overall a very fun experience! It worked as my weekly dose of serotonin and had me something to look forward to every week. I will in no way forget it anytime soon!

Personally, I loved this show. I found it really interesting and really funny. There was really good character development in Reki along with Langa. I also liked how Miya, Joe, Shadow, and Cherry Blossom also had some backstory that explained their characters. The animation was really well done and the action moments were perfectly animated. There was so much humor and I would be dying from laughter. The only problem I had with it was the clifhangers!! I know that's the purpose of them but it honestly just kinda frustrated me. I just wanted to see more all the time, and I still do. I really hope there will be a second season. Totally would recommend.

sorry for the grammar mistakes, English is not my mother tongue) This anime was one of the first I saw this year, and I can only say how much I loved it, in each chapter the opening and the ending I enjoyed them very much, Reki and Langa's friendship is very beautiful, and although I would have liked to know more about ADAM and Tadashi, I still loved the anime. Although I warn you, do not look for realism when doing the skate tricks, because there really is no logic, sometimes they totally ignored the laws of physics (so I laughed a lot on some occasions) . Anyway, I will miss seeing this anime every Saturday.

I was surprised how much I enjoyed this. When there were three episodes out, I found myself drawn to the characters and their dynamics together. The plot is a little silly-- illegal skateboarding races down an abandoned mine, where the top skater dresses in a ugly matador Halloween costume. But the show doesn't focus necessarily on competition: rather the ways in which the characters grow and learn from competing. Then episode 7 dropped, and suddenly all of the emotions that were building up exploded. A silly skateboarding anime became very raw and emotional. Themes of self-worth, self confidence, and inferiority struck a chord with myself and many of the audience, and suddenly we're reminded that these characters are just teenagers still trying to learn their place in the world. I found myself not looking forward to the actual competition, but rather the next emotional scene where the characters will talk and work out their differences. Episode 10 came, made me tear up a little with sheer happiness, and then Episode 11 came-- Wow. Episode 11 is what solidified this anime from great to outstanding. From there we see skateboarding as a means of having fun, so even though characters may lose competitions, they are still winners of the series. Sk8 subverts expectations so delightfully that it's earned its spot as one of my favorite animes of all time.

Idk anything about skateboarding but I definitely know some of the tricks they use are exaggerated. They really got me laughing because of how unrealistic they were XD I love the drama tho. It doesn't feel too forced or overly dramatic imo. Um well some parts are kinda too dramatic (especially Adam's lol). The animation is pretty decent than most anime. There aren't any awkward moves or poses. And I love the OP and ED! Main characters are ok I guess. Langa is your typical cool character with a lil bit comedy. I'm not really a fan of this sort of character tho. Cool prodigy type characters are already so common. If it were the 14 year old me, he probably would be my fav character. Tbh I like Reki more. It's not that he's unique or smth, but how they wrote his character and story was well done imo. The way he responds to his problem is quite realistic. Imagine being in his shoes. He does what he loves for a long time and someone whom he introduces to it is gotten far more expert than him in just a very short time. I think most of us can relate with Reki even though we never experienced the same thing. And the way he resolves the problem is neat, though it's somewhat cliched. About Adam... I didn't plan to include him in my review but the ending changed my mind. Adam is a character with a lot of issues. How he resolves his problem shouldn't be as simple as him realizing that skating is fun. His problems don't lie in those but how he's treated by his aunts since his childhood. Overall it's 7/10 for me. I honestly really enjoyed this anime, but some of the unrealistic elements kinda turned me off. Still, it's an anime. You can't expect them to be 100% realistic.

Absolutely fantastic fun, from the start right up until the end, SK8 is a colourful, energetic, joyful ride that doesn't really let up. The story is simple, placing its attention primarily on the relationship between our two protagonists, whose friendship is believable, and incredibly easy to invest in. Honestly, I can't remember the last time I was so invested in two people's interactions in an anime; it honestly feels more emotionally resonant and easy to invest in than a lot of actual romances I've seen. Mix that in with a bold, colourful supporting cast, and you've got a lot of fun interactions that work to push the story forward. The animation, from BONES, is predictably exceptional, with the fast-paced races easily matching up to their best work in action scenes. The soundtrack knows when to be fun, when to ramp up the emotion, and when to hype you up, and always sets the right tone (even if the upbeat ending theme feels slightly jarring to cut to after some more emotional episode endings). Honestly, I can't remember the last time I had this much fun in an anime. I have my minor nitpicks, such as the almost complete lack of female characters, but that did nothing to stop this from being great fun. Well worth watching!

Well this anime is just another awesome complete NO DISAPPOINTMENT package to me. The story, art, animation, sound, character developments was nice. Story (7/10) : not too special, just a nice story of Reki (the skate lover) and Langa (who's complete newb at skateboarding ,but pro at snowboarding so watch the anime to know what happens next when they both meet). Comparing to real life skateboarding ,this was something imaginary type (or maybe showing skating on a ebic way). Characters background, misunderstanding, jealousy ,rivalry ,challenges keeping up and solving the way up to be good friends is another part of the story and that was nice too. you guys will enjoy the story can assure that. not spoiling because story is also a part of anime that makes it great. Art (9/10) : MAN DAYUM! the details, colours and overall aesthetics was masterpiece level. The animation was butter smooth making it thrillin , rip-roaring, gripping, action-packed ...in one word oooooof. Was entertained by the art and animation whole season. Comes from studio bones , man it was awesome. Sound (9/10) : sounds are crisp clear -crystal and similar to real world. Timing, BGM everything was soothing to ears. VA on this anime with the expressions was great . OP and ED was great, that'll make u go dance and feel good. tho i like the ED more cause it comes from my fav singer Yuuri and the song was comforting. Character (8/10) : characters were nice, not too deep back story but the development is staggering. every character's unique characteristics and way they love skating was the enjoyable part here. I'm sorry for short short text but i cant spoil it to ya. Enjoyment (10/10) : you guys remember those animes which gives you a fullest enjoyment- nice ending making ur heart go lighten and offer the best feelings? yes this anime is one of those that'll never disappoint you if u just want to relax and watch a anime with nice story enjoying ur time. but if you're one who do skating and loves skating in real life and you start to point out everything of this anime, idk maybe you won't like this that much. if you're just a person who loves to watch animes in his/her free times, u will def enjoy this. Overall (8.5/10) : Comparing to THIS SEASON's (WINTER 2021) animes, this deserves 9.5/10 from me. Individually ,comparing to every other animes with similar tags, It's Great. Nothing is bad but also it's not outstanding on that level too. somewhere between. It managed me to get enjoyed ,and i'm totally satisfied with everything of this anime. Loved this anime's everything which it offered us. man finally,in real short, not a anime that'll make u feel u've wasted your time. you'll learn little things from it,will also learn about short life lessons. awesome to binge. some points about this anime : 1. DIO VA villain Ainosuke( no man totally dio ig xD), 2. made me laugh a lot 3.bromance was wholesome 4. animation top-notch 5.Langa is from Canada 6.characters are sax af 7. there's an extra ep and avoid that cause that's just recap providing nothing to story. 8.FUN TO WATCH comes to my reviewing part. well I'm new this, maybe not everyone will like my words. just tried my best to confess about my feelings after watching this anime and being honest to fullest. Hope my review was good enough to give you an idea about this anime. peace! <3

absolutely enjoyed this anime but it eventually got pretty disappointing every next episode. art 9/10. never imagined it would be this good honestly. presented skating really greatly. showed us various different angles from a 3rd person view to something you'd see if you were a camera attached to the skateboard itself. really fucking good. sound 8/10: voice actors seriously brings the characters to life. love them lots. every sound effect fits what their supposed to voice as very well. the bg music that plays on each scenes are also well placed, always love and anticipate them on every duel especially. characters 6/10: very generic but they're fun and loveable. main group consists of your flirty macho man, loud big guy, calm cool guy, tsundere catboy, cheerful loud guy and his calm genius bestfriend. nothing rly special abt them, no great character writing or character growth, just loveable silly characters. the antagonists in this was an overly dramatic guy. i found him a bit laughable so he wasn't really threatening to me. his backstory was kind of sad ig but i couldnt take it seriously because of how weird ? overdramatic? odd? his character is. story 4/10: it was pretty nice at first. main guy teaches his friend on how to skateboard and it included various scenes on how he fails and such. though there wasn't much of that because he has the genius trope lol. loved the fun slice of life with the characters just goofing around too. now to what made me give this a 5, it had a drama that was dragged on for way too long that they closed off really easily and nothing came out of it, characters' issues were just ended in the last ep which made their whole issue just . really pathetic. enjoyment 9/10: mostly because of the loveable characters and great animation. it was genuinely a really fun show to watch. just really disappointed in that ending ep honestly.

Some might say that a story has to make sense to be good, but to hell with that. It feels like skateboarding meets Beyblade, and I love it. The characters differ from one another without much depth, but they differ in a way that makes their interactions all the more fun. I don´t think I finished a single episode without being excited to watch the next one. The story isn't anything original, but when creating something based on a sport, the story doesn´t have to be that good. It does well with what it has, and is packed with moments of high intensity, something that it portrays well with its sound and expressions of the characters. I never expected to enjoy it as much is I did, which is part of why I rated it higher than most would

This is my first review so I apologize if I make a mistake. Honestly when I first saw this series on an anime news site I thought it was a typical seasonal anime that only has hot husbands, I'm so glad I was wrong. Without further ado let's get started: STORY: Summed up in simple words: "a rich madman dressed in matador style tights organizes dangerous skateboard races in an abandoned mine", did you expect something more? The story is simple and easy to follow. CHARACTERS: Despite everything I said about the story, the characters are well constructed in my opinion, none of them felt flat (except REKI). Obviously, these characters are to be shipped by the viewers (especially REKI and LANGA). And also that the "homosexual vibes" that the characters give off are impressive, without saying it badly, this series is actually about this, and I like that. SOUNDS: The work of the voice actors in this series is really good, especially that of ADAM, Koyasu Takehito (DIO voice actor), fits perfectly with this character. What can I say about the soundtrack? it fits perfectly with racing, and the opening and ending are great. ENJOYENT: In general, this series is not a great thing, but it is enjoyed, I promise you will not get bored watching it, apart from it it only has 12 episodes, you finish it in one day, what are you waiting for? I know that many do not like this type of series very much, but I assure you that this one manages to stand out among many others. I do not regret having seen this series. PS: Please excuse me if you do not understand much but English is not my native language.

Absolutely loved this anime! So engaging and inspiring - made me pick up skateboarding . Thoroughly enjoyed this anime, I've rewatched it a few times now too, it has awesome dynamics and gives off great energy. The animation is really amazing - can't fault anything about the series I love it The art style, animation, characters, story, voice acting (sub and dub - they're both so well done and very funny), music (great soundtracks) and everything was amazing!! Can't wait to watch the 'Cindereki' special soon too! Definitely recommend to everyone Not sure what else to add to get the word count up - I can't express enough how amazing this show is - you just have to go watch it and experience this masterpiece >w< Thankyouu to the creators! Love it!!! >w< ♥♥♥

i really loved rewatching this! such a sweet, feel-good show that you can put on when you have nothing to watch, although it can be a little cheesy and have that “power of friendship” type of vibe. i really enjoyed both reki and langas character development and watching their relationship blossom :) the art styles and animation is really smooth especially during the skating sequences, but something that really stood out to me is the graffiti artwork in the intro, it really caught my eye and look’s totally amazing. the soundtrack is great too! the side characters also had great storylines, i especially loved adam and tadashis backstory. i kinda feel like almost every duo in the show had a possibility of having a romantic relationship but it never really got anywhere, i don’t know if it’s queerbaiting or if it will go somewhere in a future season… i do wish there was a manga though. overall i really enjoyed the show! would totally recommend :)

i remember when sk8 got famous and everyone was talking about it and i got so scared because i thought reki died. IN THE END IT WAS ALL A BUNCH OF LIES THAT STOPPED ME FROM SEEING THIS INCREDIBLE ANIME i couldn't care less if the anime is not realistic or if it's all a bunch of "friendship solves all" history. i've never been a person that were into the fun and giggles stuff, but sk8 really got me. after all, it's not just fun and giggles. all of the characters has their own history and purposes and it makes it so fun to watch. my hands really got cold everytime i saw a competition. and oh, how i was cheering for langa and reki. even if it's not explicit, it's clearly how much they love each other and that was a important point of the anime for me (langa literally saying he likes reki to his mom was peak) and as much as i hate adam, he was a very good villain. even if he has this weird obssession with langa (that it makes me go 💀) his character was so well made. and i can even say that his story shows that this anime is more complex than a lot of isekais around the world. MY POOR TADASHI, i had so much pity for this man. it's like he's living his own lana del rey romance with adam (and the tittle track is ultraviolence) and also i cant explain of how much i was simping for kaoru. omg. anyways this anime is peak and im so sad that is so short. i love renga, i love matcha blossom and i kind of love whatever adam and tadashi have going on

NO MAJOR SPOILERS I really liked this anime from the beginning, when it first aired, so I told myself that I had to rewatch it. Never been so excited after a rewatch! There's this redhead, his name is Reki, remember it! He is a great skater and he LOVES skateboarding, he knows EVERYTHING about it, too, he also participates in an illegal skating competition called "S". And there's this newly transferred student (half Canadian, half Japanese, lived in Canada until his father passes away), he has no experience on skateboarding at all, he just wants a well-paid job to financially help his mother since they moved back to japan(where his mother's from), his name is Langa btw. After Langa's failed interview, the 2 of them met on the streets and that's how it all started. Honestly speaking, Reki is the best thing that could have happened to Langa, he taught him that skating is FUN and that's where the plot focuses (Also portrays things as trauma, guilt, finding your definition of happiness, grudges and more) LANGA AND REKI (10/10) At first, I thought that Langa's character wasn't well-explored but after a rewatch, I can confidently say DAMN I WAS WRONG, his feelings are explored well enough for a 12 ep and his backstory adds up to and still influences him constantly. Langa uses everything he was taught about snowboarding in his skateboarding, but to do that, you need some innovation. This is where Reki comes in extremely handy, he makes a board just for Langa and constantly modifies it to suit his needs, to add up to his weak points, everything he modifies stands on Reki's observations alone, that guy's amazing. It's because of Reki that not only Langa can learn the basics but also becomes a GOD of skateboarding, his evolution is inhuman. However, how can a human like Reki compete to the God he created? That is an issue that he'll have to find a solution to. But this alone is not the only thing that will be bugging him. OTHER MAIN CHARACTERS (9.5/10) The main characters, however, are not only those 2. We have Miya, a young talented skateboard who's a national team candidate, SHADOW (Hiromi) "The S anti-hero" who always has tricks up his sleeves, JOE (Kojiro) a skater who uses his muscle mass as an aid to his skating style, CHERRY (Kaoru) a skater who uses an AI skateboard, his skating is rigid and calculated, a mysterious skater called SNAKE and of course our antagonist ADAM. The dynamics between the characters are great, JOE and CHERRY are childhood friends who constantly fight like kids despite being adults, SHADOW is your daily dose of wiredness who can get along or fight with anyone, MIYA is a kid who likes to insult others but is soft on the inside (it's fun when he uses game analogies, especially with Reki) but he can be blunt and inconsiderate of others, Langa who mostly hangs around Reki admiring his knowledge and telling him that he's amazing and Reki who was the reason this group of individuals became friends. I'd like MIYA and SHADOW to have a bit more screen time but in the rest, I really like the inclusion, they did great in my opinion. There's also ADAM with a particular kind of backstory that, to some degree explains his behavior but doesn't justify it. SOUND (8.5 or 9/10) The sound is good, I watched the SUB and I think it's amazing, the emotions are well portrait, I heard the DUB is funnier but for emotional impact I would recommend the sub. However it's clear that the one who dubbed Langa in Japanese was not a Canadian, in episode 12 it becomes clear as the ski in a sunny day. INTRO AND OUTRO (8/10) The intro is fitting it offers enough clues about the show without actually spoiling it, it also keeps the vibe up. I'd complain about the outro for a single thing, the impact it has after a serious episode, despite being able to go to the next episode and not have to wait a week to be posted, I found it a bit bugging. ART (10/10) The art jut nailed it perfectly, the street atmosphere, the character design, the way the adults have different kind of clothes from their daily live in order to disguise and also because they want to show another side of them that has been reprimed by society (best example is the antagonist) Despite not scoring 10/10 in all those categories, I still give a 10/10 because it impacted me personally, especially after the rewatch.

When I say this is my favourite anime ever, I mean it. I am slowly forcing everyone in my life to watch it because everything about it is perfect. The only thing it's missing is a BL tag! It's so wholesome, but also has a realistic depiction of insecurity and self esteem issues behind all the flashy, over tho top music and silly dialogue. Studio Bones did such a good job with the animation, the use of CG for the backgrounds during the races is so subtle and well done. Not to mention the awesome character designs. Voice acting is peak for ever character, and I don't watch dubs, but the dub is so funny. Nothing will ever top this for me, and it will always be my go to recommendation.
