You have to remember that if an author has one really good work then that doesn't make them exempt from writing mediocre shit. This is a perfect example of that. I'm sure that a lot of people have decided to give this a shot because it was written by the same guy who made Death Note. And, well, if you're reading this review, please don't waste your time on this. It's just not worth sitting through 24 episodes of something, only to feel like you could've spent that time doing something more productive. Now, that is not to say that I didn't enjoy this at all. There were some decent moments in the second half, and I actually felt like it was shaping up to be something. But the last episode came in and ruined all of that. If they had just left it at episode 23 then I probably would've given this at least a 5/10. The first half is what mostly makes this show bad. The characters, especially the MC are all very poorly written. I didn't feel anything for them whatsoever. What I felt at most was annoyance at how pathetic the MC was. The only good character was Mukaido, who *spoiler* ended up dying very soon anyway. If only it was the characters. The story was incredibly mediocre as well. The premise actually sounded pretty interesting, but somehow, they managed to fuck it up entirely. I'm not even sure how you can screw up such a good premise. Well, at least when the Metropoliman arc was over then it started picking up a bit. I can credit them for at least stepping it up. In conclusion: stupid show with stupid first half and stupid ending. Not worth your time. 4/10

Bilingual Review (English and Spanish) English---------------------------------------------------------- Platinum End is an anime that tells you what is the meaning of happiness, what is the meaning of life and how those meanings affect the life of a human being. For some it is as basic as eating good food and for others it is something beyond their understanding. A divine reason. Animation: The direction of the anime is spectacular. It tells the whole story in a good way and leaves nothing loose. The drawing although sometimes regular, remains decent throughout the series. Soundtrack: Undoubtedly the best section of the anime in terms of post-production. An amazing OST by Tokuda Masahiro. 100% recommended to listen at any time. Conclusion: Platinum End is an anime that you can enjoy from start to finish as long as you come with an open mind and willing to quest sensitive topics such as: The existence of a God, suicide, human morality and the meaning of life. As long as you are willing to internally debate these issues you will be able to relate to the characters, understand them and draw your own conclusion of what this story was for you. Rating: 9 / 10 for now, when I rewatch it will be 10 / 10. Well, that was something. Platinum End shows that just because someone made something good(death note) doesn’t mean everything they make is good. I personally went into platinum end expecting a lot, and unfortunately, it didn't quite meet those expectations for me. Now what holds platinum end up for me is its exceptional premise. It genuinely had me intrigued going into the anime. It, unfortunately, suffers from poor execution; and in my opinion, they just tried to add things that they probably thought would make the show better, but in general, it just overcomplicate the plot. Art: 6 Now art and animation aren’t always the most important aspects for me, but there were times that the animation would be hard to look at, however that fit with the very dark tone that platinum end has so for the most part I enjoyed it. I do think that the fight scenes could've been better executed, however. Sound: 9 The soundtrack had to have been my favorite part of the anime in all honesty. There was something satisfying about hearing those arrows launched, although over utilized. Not to mention the heavenly soundtracks that they would have in the background on occasion really felt well placed with the type of anime this is. I haven’t even mentioned the fact that the opening absolutely slapsssssss. It's actually really good and I find myself listening to it a decent amount. Characters: 3 The characters are one of the weaker parts of the anime for me if not the weakest. I think at times the characters were just executed very poorly. The first antagonist was a big exclamation point for me because in my opinion they were just not done very well at all and left a lot to be desired and was a main reason why the first half of the show was much worse for me. Now It's not just them, the mc leaves a lot to be desired and at times would go through character development when it makes no sense for them too when they should have a couple of episodes before. I could make this section longer, but to keep things semi-short not many characters were done well at all. Story: 5 Strong premise, weak characters, bad execution. I will say the ending did interest me but seeing how the rest of the anime wasn’t handled very well the ending did not hit as much as it probably should have. It just seemed like a bunch of wrong turns leading up to this ending and in all honesty, the premise is what holds the story up to at least this high for me, but yet again it could've been improved on greatly.

I started out this anime with bright eyes and hope for the future. I thought I found a hidden gem in this anime season. And then the anime story just decided to take everyone for a ride they were not ready for. The plot was so promising, but after episode two the writing did everything it could to make everything not make sense. I sat threw every episode like a hostage forced to watch a baby play with a gun. I it was such a bad train wreck I could not look away from. The main character became the most annoying and whiney person on Earth and could be argued to be the source of most deaths in the show if he wasn't such a little bitch. The plot does everything it can to make something happen and then it ends up not happening despite the story bending backwards to obtain certain plot points that don't make any sense. Sloppy doesn't even begin to describe this. I tried so hard to give this anime a chance and watched every stupid episode hoping the pain would end and it would get better, but it never does. I almost thought in the last episode I would get some form of closure and the anime then just snatches it from you. I would recommend you do something less painful like play in traffic than watch this anime.

i really have got to wonder how the creator of death note would end up creating something like platinum end. this show had a lot of potential at the start, but ultimately fumbled the bag at pretty much every major story step ENJOYMENT/OVERALL => 2/10 at the end of the day, the art and sound cannot save the sinking ship that is the story and characters. the main motivations behind the villains are made a focal point in the conflict, but ultimately are bogged down by the fact that they're not relatable, no matter how much the story tries to make them seem so. the ending is offensively bad and bleak, to the point where you will actively regret having watched it. the characters are, as a whole, uninteresting, and tend to have less of a character arc, and more of a sudden moment of being pretty much entirely different. i can't even say it's a good hatewatch, because a lot of it isn't even funny bad, but just like. damn i hope ohba touches some grass. anyway more clarification on why the score's so bad below ===SPOILERS BEYOND THIS POINT=== STORY => 1/10 the story is pretty much unequivocally the worst part of this anime. there are many, many problems with the story, but my main issue is that the story seemingly tries to make its villains sympathetic despite the villains being pretty much wholly impossible to feel bad for. (also the ending but i'll get into that last) i'd say the most egregious example of this is the first major arc's villain, metropoliman, otherwise known as kanade uryuu. the story attempts to shine a sympathetic light on him many times by frequently reminding the viewer that he wants to become god so he can bring his sister back to life. this would be all well and good if it wasn't for the fact that his sister died because of him accidentally pushing her off of a balcony because she was interested in a boy, but even with that it could've been possible to feel bad for him if it wasn't for the fact that he outright stated that he wanted to kill all people who are ugly or poor the story is clearly trying to make you feel sorry for him - otherwise it would not spend so much time focused on it - but it is literally impossible to feel bad for a guy who wants to kill all ugly people and also killed his sister because of incest. like i genuinely felt like i was going insane watching this because i could not believe that they were actually trying this there's really only one other villain who matters and he's also similarly ridiculous. he's a professor who's a reddit atheist and wants everyone to know that god is fake so badly that he will kill everyone on the entire planet just to prove that god isn't real. like Ok. anyway, something that will unavoidably come up in a discussion about platinum end is the ending. it actually feels malicious, like ohba made it intentionally bad to waste everyone's time. essentially: the guy who becomes god let the professor keep a red arrow (something from the god selection thing), then killed himself to let the professor know that god is dead. then every single living creature on the planet dies instantly and some text flies on the screen saying stuff like "Everyone wants to die." it's one of the most pretentious and also stupid things i've ever witnessed in my entire life and i regret watching this show. CHARACTERS => 2/10 i said why the villains suck in the story section, but the main characters are also pretty uninteresting. i'd say that only mirai gets actual character growth, and then everyone else is either completely stagnant or is instantly changed due from a single scene. mirai's main struggle is that he cannot take another person's life because he does not want to deprive them of happiness by any means. he is forced into situations where he logically should kill someone, but manages to just barely scrape by without doing so. however, this ultimately comes to a head when he is in a situation where it is do or die, and he becomes the accomplice to someone's death. by the end of the show he shows real conviction in saying that he will kill someone if he has to in order to protect the world's happiness. his arc was actually interesting and fairly good saki's was pretty much "i feel so bad about bullying mirai that i could die" until mirai says that he forgives her and then she is just like "i'm nice and i like mirai." this is the entirety of her arc. everyone else's arcs can be summed up as such as well SOUND => 8/10 honestly the music in this show literally goes insane. there's not really action in the second half but the first half has some extremely good songs in the fight scenes and i am unironically looking forward to the ost coming out so i can listen to it ART => 6/10 sometimes the art is very good, and then other times it is very not. you would expect the climactic last episode to have some of the best animation, but this is not the case, and some of the animation loops for Literal God are 3 frames in total, with the frames progressing around 0.25s, and a fade-in and fade-out for these frames. incredible. just to stress though, there are many good points of the animation, and the fight sequences are, in general, genuinely excellent
Spirit_Chaser
As terrible as Platinum End is overall, it did get very interesting much later before the ending and presented a lot of ideas worth discussing. Yet, I cannot deny that I could not stand Mirai at first. He successfully became one of the worst protagonists I'd ever seen out of how annoyingly naïve he is. There felt almost no point of him going to battle at times since he wouldn't do anything anyways. I could feel Mukaidou's pain as he tried desperately to make Mirai do something. Mirai's belief in pacifism is the problem. How did he expect to beat God candidates like Metropoliman? This belief of non-violence and to try to negotiate with the heart of an opponent who is heartless is useless. This pacifism of his assumes that they can move their opponent and change their mind. Still, in order for that to work, the opponent needs to have a conscious. Metropoliman has none. It doesn't work that way. All Mirai is doing by being a naïve pacifist is to allow his own slaughter. The irony here is that Mirai, by not killing these killers, allows them to continue their own killing. To a certain extent, Mirai is contributing here as part of the problem. The art of this series, at many times, looks lifeless and ugly. The fan service looks desperate at times. It's noticeably and annoyingly inconsistent. The fights try to be clever but at many times come off as something out of looney tunes. One of the main examples is the way the cast try to take care of a world ending virus. Sometimes the twists and planning ahead can be nice as the characters try to outsmart each other. As the first half rolled out, I was cheering for Metropoliman because the main cast made themselves almost unbearably insufferable in how foolish they were. This reminds me of that terrible series Peach Girl were they made the cast so annoying and ignorant I wanted the antagonist to win. The series eventually gets better with the introduction of that Kenpachi rip off, Yoneda. He questions God about how people can be overdependent on religion. I would agree with him that people should not place their entire wellbeing on religion. People should become strong based on their own feelings of confidence, resolve, and purpose in life. I can appreciate that he saved this series from becoming complete trash. Towards the end, the cast begins to finally come to some resolve, and then one of the most strangest endings occurred that is absolutely hated in the manga. This was a strange series best forgotten or never bothered with. You could say this did not even come close to the author's previous success with Death Note. You can also add that the directing in Death Note was incredible compared to the sad excuse of directing that occurred here.

Few spoilers ahead as a warning! I went here with nice expectation after finishing the first episode, the premise seemed generic but I though it could have lead me to something that was either going to be decent or utter trash but still highly entertaining. Took me only few episodes later to realize that the Platinum End ride was going to be a waste of time more then anything. It's a story about Mirai who was about to commit suicide but saved in the last second by an angel called Nasse, then she gift him a pair of wings with the ability to fly, and firsthand powers (a white arrow that instantly kills, and a red arrow that commands people or making them fall in love) and with that the guy is involved into a battle royal game with the aim of winning in fighting against other opponents and becoming the new God. In other words, this show is basically Mirai Nikki, or most of the battle royal anime ever, but there's only one major problem that makes Platinum End quite possibly one of the worst of this genre... it's boring as hell. Not because nothing majorly important happens, but the all show from the second episode to end is so bland and uninspired, and this problem is heavily caused by the characters; I can't recall more forgettable characters then these, and it's a clear evidence from the first big battle of the series. The battle starts off in a stadium during the fourth episode, we learn more about one of the main villains Kanade and he makes a battle of twist against the contenders surrounding him, and then killing all of them at the end. It's a tragic moment filled with tension but I ended up not feeling and caring about anything. The contenders only showed up for few minutes, have a brief character development before dying, Kanade has no motivation for being a villain and starting to kill people left and right, and when they reveal later on his motivations are just as dumb and uninteresting as I expected. And by the way, through all this shenanigans happening Mirai was only sitting in the stadium, witnessing the massacre and then he goes away, that is all. It was a pretty terrible first game and while watching I being awkwardly bored since the emotional impact already failed spectacularly, and it only gets worse later. We get introduced to other villains who are just dumb edgy psychopath with no motive, most of them with no backstory or anything at all, they're just there ready to get killed by other players and bring more boring action to the show. Even the people who aren't bad guy have only one personality trait and they're often used to explain unnecessary philosophical explanation about achieving happiness and how important life is. One of the worst cases is Saki, through the all series all she does is sitting next to the MC just so she can give him support, she does one rescue at the last battle, but she's useless for like 99% of the time. Mirai is quite pathetic as a MC, which left me not surprised that a lot of people agree with it. He has the empathy of never throw the white arrow at his enemies and kill them because he believe that life is worth a life of another... despite the fact that these psychos take away life of many individuals and people would be better off without them. One contender bombs out an entire public building causing a lot of damage, and Mikei keeps standing around with no willing of finish the opponent, while his ally Nanato, basically does all the work at defeating the enemy. I can't get over how pathetic this is. The second half of the series is very forgettable, we get introduced to more characters, two of which are a scientist and an emo kid who will become very important for the final battle, a battle that pretty much consist in manipulations and beliefs, that will align with the emo kid becoming the winner of the death game and therefore the person that will take the place as the new God. Quite possibly one of the most underwhelming finale I've seen in a while, it doesn't feel satisfied or intelligent in the slightest. And then to put more salt into the injury, there's the last episode. It's all reduced to even more philosophical ambiguity with constant talking about the meaning of God and despite the goal of our main characters are finally reached and succeeded, the shows makes us remember that every 40 seconds a person commits suicide. Then the very last scene everybody gets Thanos snapped and disappears, the show clearly tried to do something symbolic or mind blowing with this event but I still couldn't care less, in fact, the only thing I cared about is that the series finally ended along with my misery. I can't find any positive to say about Platinum End, Op and Ed songs are great sure but the rest falls so incredibly flat, there are a lot of dumb decisions, boring dialogues, combined with poor art direction and below average animation and it all ends up being bland. I'm sure everybody has already forgot about this show. Highly suggest to avoid because you're not gonna get anything out of it.

I just finished this series and seriously it's a mind-blowing, sad and frustrating bomb all at once. I think the entire series was okay, since the characters have their own beliefs. The pacing (where the decisions kept dragging on and on and over) is pretty much realistic cuz truly, people (who wouldve been elected as a 'god candidate' would have a lot of arguments over their own opinions and such, like amongst a group of politics people probably(?). I'd like to think that the partings were reasonable, first half being about combat cuz the antagonist was more on brawns, and the second half being a battle against more on words and persuasion through beliefs, cuz the 'antagonist' was about brains. Now the concept and idea is veryyy much high in potential and honeslty i do see char developments in opposition to some reviews that say theres no char dev. I think its just more on a realistic depiction of life cuz people could have a hard time instantly changing and like how their thoughts could be repeated over and over because they want to change, like Mirai. But soon enough he does get to achieve his happiness in the ending. Saki too, even the Professor got his own resolve, so I think those could be considered as char development. The ending is probably what drags it down cuz it couldve literally ended on a good note cuz i really thought all the hard twists and coincidences were all brought to the very end point for the good ending but even after all those twists it still manages to have a bitter and sad ending. TLDR; the chars are actually realistic and it gives you an insight on other people's reason on being su_cidal, which widens your viewpoint of depression and such. my actual rating would be 6.2, but It's something i WOULD recommend for those into mind-boggling messy sad stuff ToT, i mean, it's recomomended cuz it still has a strong plot and all and i've seen worse animes that will bore your skull out

The pacing of this anime is not good. I think this whole series could have been completed in 16 episodes MAX. Most of the action happens in the first half of the series and it is drawn out with people standing around doing nothing and repeating dialogue they already communicated in 4 different ways which really puts a damper on the intensity of tense moments. The second half has less action but it has a lot of philosophical dialogue that does not lead to much more than perhaps trying to get the watcher of the anime to think about some of those topics. This philosophical dialogue does not do much to progress the story besides reinforce themes. Overall, the series was sad, drawn out, and kind of boring yet disappointing. If the pacing was fixed, this could have been one of my favorites.

After the terrible and untimely passing of his parents and younger brother, Mirai was forced to live with his violent uncle and aunt. Later, he makes the decision to terminate his life before being spared and granted a second opportunity by Nasse, one of the thirteen angels sent by God. She tells him that before the old God retires in nine hundred and ninety days, he must compete against twelve other God contenders. From this point on, Mirai must start again and determine whether or not his second shot at life is worth fighting for. The characteristics of the characters were all very different from one another; some of them have been seen often yet are still vaguely recognizable in other works of media. Not too intricate nor too stale. The music had a heavenly aspect to it while also capturing a tense turn of events that helped to portray the tone of the story's locale and characters. Notable figures include the legendary Metropoliman, in particular, with his hidden identity, past, and moral convictions of trying to succeed in becoming the next God and Mirai confessing his true feelings and relationship for Saki. The speed and resolution were the only issues I had with the manga and anime. Viewers and series aficionados disagree on whether the finale itself was satisfactory. Some of the story's episodes' pacing and storyline developments were enjoyable and manageable to follow, while other episodes seemed to be either moving too slowly or too quickly for me to fully absorb. Overall, some may advise avoiding this entry due to its weak plot, unlikable characters, and recurring moral themes from Tsugumi Ohba's earlier works; however, if you like Tsugumi Ohba's numerous works, including Death Note, Bakuman, and many more, as well as anime that features life-or-death encounters between people in desperate situations where participation is either required or encouraged, I would consider giving this piece of artwork a chance.
OverlordBel
So...this was created by the same person who created Death Note and Bakuman. Thats why I watched it, and to be very honest I am still confused. Platinum End is so objectively terrible that it baffles me that the creator not just wrote the story but also decided to release it to the public as a manga AND a anime. If you have watched Mirai Nikki, then you pretty much watched a much better version of Platinum End. Its absolutely crazy to me, to the point that I wonder if the writer just straight up went senile and decided to copy Mirai Nikki plot, just changing a few details. Theres just nothing salvageable about this other than the nice artstyle. Its well drawn, and thats about it. The first episode was already weak, but I gave it a fair chance and kept watching, expecting it to get better, and it never did. In fact, at around episode 8 or 9 I was legit hating myself for wasting my time with this absolute garbage. And it just gets worse with each new episode. The ONE thing I actually liked in Platinum End was the angels. But thats only because the artist in me was really in love with their designs, as they are probably the best looking angel characters I have seen in anime. Do not be like me and waste your time watching this.

Do not consider the prose of the neurotic reviewer; those who have, in their own mind, solved reviewing are like the antagonist of this show. They are deluded and rigid, expecting that which will never come to them. This story's highest aim is to provide a glance into the human condition. One tenet of such, that nothing is certain, is strongly represented, and this is where I find a lot of the merit in this show. In the conclusion, that which someone thinks should happen, does not happen, and this recurs. It's not gratifying, unless you can see it for what it is. This is a show about god, after all. There are existential themes, and that which is meant to be spoken here is often subtle. Sometimes the philosophy is weak. It's also an anime; it's full of shallow moments. But it's very good. It's original, and it's essence is totally it's own. It certainly did not conform with my little criteria either, of what I thought a good show was. I saw something new, and despite everything wrong with it, of which there was not much, I love it. There is brilliance here.
NarezTheShadow
The story was too long, i think less character and just 12 episode full enough for the message what the "anime" will give to us. The god like a human is mortar, the god is a creature like us, god is not a god just an idea, a creature who have lifetime after he die The life without end is nothing... booring and suffering The life is a journey to find your happiness, if you find it, you wait the death The death is near, after we see nothing, because god is nothing So the Platinum end is not a bad anime, but not perfect! Strong 6-7/10 in my opinion with a Hard message, if you understand it.
Kyte_56
While many parallel Platinum End to Death Note to Mirai Nikki, I feel like they miss the main point of Platinum end, and that is purpose. This is not a show about the game or the process, or even the mind battle of who is in the right. This is about what it means to be a living human in this world. It packed a lot more punch than I expected, and I would definitely recommend this to all of those who enjoyed the shows above but lacked some deeper meaning in them. While this is not one of those "mind-blowing realization" shows, its impact definitely grows on you slowly. I did feel like it took off a bit slow at first, and it felt like it took a while to get to the actual point of Platinum End, but if you are looking for a show that will hold something deeper than expected- I do think this is a good example for it. Platinum End tries to show a wild range of personalities, and some are more eccentric than reality will present, but I started watching out of a "Sound like a fun show to pass time with" vibe and ended up thinking about things that were said in this anime in my daily life a lot more than I expected.
FlexySpagoot
Originally I knew absolutely nothing about this anime and only decided to watch it since it was one of my picks for FAL in fall of 2021, I knew nothing about any of its authors or where it came from, and just started watching it simply because it was seemingly highly anticipated by a large amount of people. While I won't say I really hated this show, its definitely one I could have gone without seeing. It had some good elements to it, but was really brought down by its really abysmal characters, awful art, and mediocre story and pacing. The story concept behind Platinum End is definitely one of its most solid elements. The God Selection Process is unique and interesting, and is a good base for the show to build off of. But in my opinion, it really doesn't, especially in the second half. The Metropoliman arc is mostly fine, it has a few oddities that I didn't super-like, but is overall pretty good. The second arc is a lot more boring in comparison, the stakes feel so much lower, the villain is way more boring, and the whole thing feels super drawn out. The ending is also not exactly something I was the biggest fan, not just because it was really unexpected, but more because of how out of place it felt, especially since another plot element was introduced 2 minutes before it happens. I think the story could have been great, but really just ended up holding the show back. The characters in this show are really not anything I'd really consider "good" by any definition of the word. Most characters have a singular, simple motivation that drives everything they do and that they won't shut up about. Mirai won't shut up about how nice of a guy he is and doesn't want to hurt anyone no matter what, Yoneda doesn't shut up about how he's super smart and doesn't do anything unless its the empirically best choice or whatever. Every character is like this, and it ends up with most of the characters feeling incredibly boring and lame, since as soon as somebody is introduced you almost always know everything there is to about them. Its not necessarily bad that there are simple characters in Platinum End, but it is bad that every single character is. Then the aspect of the show that everyone thinks is bad: the art. Signal.MD didn't do that amazing art-wise on their previous project, Mars Red, but it wise miles better than the unappealing mess that is Platinum End. It has its own style sure, but that "style" is to look really ugly and gross. The color palate is unappealing and muddy, people and places don't look very interesting, and the CGI can be pretty abysmal whenever it tries to do anything remotely complicated. I consider this project to honestly be a failure, I really think that it could have been good, its just that nearly every aspect of the show that could have made it good was lacking. It wasn't a pain to watch, but it was definitely a bit of a chore at times, and if it wasn't for the decent amount of points it gave me during FAL I would have been perfectly content with it never have airing.

I am shocked to see platinum end getting such a low rating. Maybe the tastes of the new generation anime watcher are vastely different from mine. Or people just put too much expectations on this anime and got disappointed. I mean it's not fair to compare this anime to death note in the first place. I'd say this is a very good anime and worth a watch if you like action and suspense. Pro +Good story and it only gets better +Excellent character development +Excellent art and fluid animation +Suspense and plot twists everywhere! Cons -Not the best ending it could have had -Violence and suggestive contents, depending on what you like -Minor plot holes and flaws in theories End note: This anime is way too underrated, probably because of it's comparison to Death Note, which is totally unfair. An objective rating would be around (7.8), even with all the flaws considered. I would highly recommend watching this anime unless you hate violence and seeing innocent people dying.
Hail_Lelouch
Platinum End started decently, with good concept, somewhat similar to Future Diary + Death Note. The first half was interesting and was built well. Although everything started getting worse in the second half of the series. First of all, the animation seemed a bit inconsistent and there was nothing much left to explore post 14th episode, which saw the end of Metropoliman. Then, the rest of the episodes were just forcibly made into a shallow story, using god reference a way too much, without thickening the plot to an ending whatsoever. If made into 12-13 episodes, it would have been decent end, and the criticism wouldn't have been so harsh. Platinum End is an example of how not to extend an anime unnecessarily, beyond it's capability to hold a story, that in turn take a worst hit towards itself and becomes a hollow show, that drags itself too much without realising that there's no worth left of it till it reaches towards the end. My Rating : 4/10

You probably just finished the show and now you are reading the reviews on MAL. This review is about one character only. But I have to talk about the anime first since MAL has rules about reviews. The Story its aight. It has its ups and downs like all other anime but the potential of the story is what keeps you wanting to watch the show even though you already know that this is a classic 5/10 death game anime. The Art. It looks very average. The times where they show the heavens are kinda cool. The Sound The sound effect for the arrows being shot and the wings when being used are so good. But the only problem with it is ITS WAY TOO LOUD like they are talking so silently then suddenly BASS BOOSTED DUDDUUD TIWDDN TENG! that's what its sounds like. The character Writing this review made me realize I forgot about 70% of the characters and if you are reading this review try to say who and what did he/she did. Sokotani Hajime Mimimi Yamada Tabuchi Saburo If you got all of them right you are lying. in conclusion they are forgettable (except for one guy) Enjoyment. Its fun. Show made me go haha sometimes. sometimes I feel joy and dopamine 7/10 Overall I think the show had major potentials and could have not just made like half of the candidates a throw away character. but all in all its the most 7/10 show. SPOILER AHEAD Now time for the meat and potatoes of the review. The character who I mentioned at the beginning of this review has already won from the start of the show. And that guy is Tonma Rodriguez. This guy knew it all from the start he knew that he aint winning this. So he just did what the MC was trying to do and that was "finding happiness" and Rodriguez's happiness is getting bitches in his dick. While every one is getting arrowed down and dying. Rodriguez died knowing how to use his arrow and he died doing what he loves. as every one disappeared in the end only Rodriguez got the full value of the arrows.

In the beginning, I enjoyed the show. It was never going to be my favorite anime, or close to it, but that's fine! The vast majority of animes will never reach that bar nor should anyone expect them too. But about midway through the story, its dynamic took a twist that thoroughly depleted my interest to the point where I stopped watching for a few weeks. While I did resume watching and just finished it, it definitely did not meet the standard of the first half, especially as it ended. I had no problems with the art and animation. There were some moments where it was clear they had taken measures to animate as little as possible in a move that I assume was meant to counter some of the more budget-intensive moments. This is a norm in anime nowadays so I won't judge the show too harshly for it, especially since it still looked fine. Music and sound design were very good. Nothing especially good but I never felt that it was done in a shoddy way or that it detracted from the story. The characters were mostly interesting, though some of them definitely needed more time to shine. This is especially true of those that wound up in the final part of the show as it would up being mostly backstory and exposition because critical characters were not introduced until the final few episodes. I also felt like the romance was kind of strange and a tad forced. At the very least, their past issues should have been delved into a bit more. I feel that the story should have stayed focused on the original conflict between the protagonist and antagonist. There were elements that were added later that would have been very interesting to see explored and could have worked excellently into the original dynamic, but alas it went a very different direction. In particular, I must say that the ending was bizarre and downright hard to explain. It felt very un-earned and made me wonder what the point in me watching the show was.

SPOILERS IN THIS REVIEW!! I watched it, I personally thought it was pretty bad at the beginning. I'm sure alot of people feel the same about about MC but he was such a pussy at the beginning. It seemed like he was putting others lives at risk for his heroic values and making sure nobody dies, including the villians that were trying to kill alot of people. He's never heard of "kill one to save millions". He was hard-stuck on those values of wishing nobody dies, until.. he met the professor. He had no issues trying to kill professor but he couldn't kill metro-poliman's terrorist minions which doesn't make sense to me. Half of the show, MC showed very little determination even with the new-found powers he had, I sometimes wished Kanade Uryuu (metro-poliman) just smoked him. I found more entertainment from Kanade's story rather than MC's. I wasn't even satisfied with the ending either. Did the depressed kid (god) just end the world just to send a message to professor? I was quite confused why he ended humanity. Perhaps the "creature" wanted to manifest the kid and overtake his mind only to simply "observe" humanity. So basically, depressed kid didn't want to be controlled by "god" so he killed himself and took humanity with him, simply because he didn't like the idea of being controlled. If it were me, I would just be controlled by creature if that's the cost to save humanity, because the creature doesn't do any harm but just simply observes. In my opinion, that was a pretty shitty ending. Cliff-hangers were pretty cool though.
