Nobody who recommends this has any taste, and definitely has no standards. There is nothing unique nor great about this series, and no part of it is laudable in any way. It is as bland as it gets, which, due to the Goblin Slayer title/vibe, makes it absolutely awful. Nobody dies* or gets hurt, nor does anybody get raped. (*except for some bg characters that are never introduced, have no names, and never show up again) Starting a story with a party wipe & a rape sets a tone, sets some expectations, and definitely sets a standard. This series (this half, ig) has none of those. Violence and rape are optional, and serious, so if they're part of the story, they should matter. If they're in the 1st episode of the 1st season, they should really matter! This season makes it clear that they do not matter, and it was just posturing. To be clear: at least in Season 1 it was clear that the author liked piss and big titties, and maybe GRRM's Song of Ice & Fire. This season has no kinks, no side-jokes about how goblin-centric the Goblin Slayer is, nothing to differentiate it from any other edgelord-y medieval fantasy setting, and it is crystal clear that the author has nothing worthwhile to say about anything at all. Well, except that they're really sexist. There was so much S1 potential squandered — better to never watch this then to argue for what it could be.

A sequel that was fundamentally different from the original, not necessarily for the worse, but definitely not for the better. The original goblin slayer was this gritty, grey world where the party uses their flexibility and resourcefulness to overcome the unexpected threats of goblins. The shock scenes were a perfect compliment to the world building and immersion. It also had its fair share of bond and comradeship moment. Goblin slayer 2 was fundamentally different. The show focused much more on slice of life and world building (albeit pretty shallow). The artistic direction was changed to better accommodate this, as well as some censorship of violence. We see some character development, but nothing groundbreaking. Goblin slayer 1 can only be described as Goblin Slaye, due to its charmingly unique style and story. Goblin slayer 2 can be described as "Isekai with a little bit more focus on goblins", because in all honesty, this is all it is. As a standalone this is a very solid anime. It encapsulates a strong blend of combat, SoL, character writing, and world building. However, when it is the sequal to Goblin Slayer, the jarring difference between this and the original is immediately obvious. What's furthermore, even as a non-source material reader, I can easily tell that there were tons content skipped, often too much, which makes the story feel disconnected. There's nothing bad about this anime judging purely by itself, but once you expect a sequel to Goblin Slayer, as many watchers rightfully should, you are left with confusion and bizzareness at best, or disappointment at worst. Oh, and the opener by Mili was an absolutely banger.

Goblin Slayer used to be about a cold, calculated warrior who did whatever it took to wipe out goblins—brutal methods, blood everywhere, and no heroic fantasies. He wasn't trying to save the world; he was just doing the job, and that made it raw and unique. Season 2, though? Feels like a totally different anime. The tone shifts hard: more fanservice, less grit. The MC starts acting more like a soft, hesitant version of himself instead of the focused slayer we knew. The gore—the signature element that gave the show its brutal edge—gets toned down more and more with each episode. Honestly, if you were a fan of Goblin Slayer for its dark, no-nonsense vibe, don’t bother with Season 2. It strays too far from what made the original special.

Goblin Slayer is one of those anime we all wanted to continue but ended wishing it never did. The 2nd season is a complete waste of your time, the animations are bad, the story is a complete mess, all the things we loved about Goblin Slayer is thrown out the window for a cheap and mass producible continuation that drags it feet along, sometimes it manages to jump but falls completely short of reaching any significant heights. If anything, it picks itself up somewhat towards the end, but the pacing is so abysmal it ends up over before you can blink. 2nd season, was a mistake.

For the first season I quite liked this anime, but after the last 3 years, I don't expect a S2 at all because the Movie was disappointing. For this second season, I as a viewer really had my patience tested by one of the new red-haired characters, this was very sickening to watch and hear! I tried to be patient here, and tried to enjoy this anime, but the result is the same as the first season, people who underestimate Goblin are very annoying. But it's not as bad as in the second season, because they are not part of the MC's group, but the redhead is one of the supporting characters who is on the MC's side who makes noise all the time. After being shown how dangerous it was to underestimate Goblins, I thought he would come to his senses, but it turns out he was still stupid in his stance. The next story is also less interesting, it feels bland, because the ones at the center of the problem are definitely the goblins, yes of course friends, this is about Goblin Slayer lol. Maybe the only interesting thing in this anime is the beautiful quality of the characters, like the Guild guard, I like him, for the rest I'm not too interested.

Art - 5/10, IDK the animation didnt feel as fluent as the first season, maybe its just the overall season that made the animation seem worse but it felt soo bland.... wasnt too pleased with the studio change. Characters - 8/10 The characters are still surprisingly great as they all have pretty good chemistry, the jokes arent really funny, but the season is alot more chilled back which is surprising considering the opening is menacing as fuck. And goblin slayer gets some character depth! its not just about goblins. Story - 5/10 Story is stale this season, I cant even remember much except for the random hot spring episode or bath episode that was just thrown in, come to think of it there was a lot of bath scenes huh... Enjoyment - 6/10 Downgrade from season 1, but I was pretty impressed with how season 1 was so im not too mad, dont go out of your way to watch this but if you have the time just put it on in the background...!

Story (7) : I feel like season 2 has a broader story than season 1. In season 1 they only focused on goblins and action in caves, but in season 2, they really fight with goblins in many different places. What I like about season 2 is the adventures to various places. Which makes me feel like we can figure out anything in the world of goblin slayer. To the palace, to the forest, and so on. In this season, there isn't much action from season 1. But I think the action in season 2 is balanced with their adventures Character (8) : The characters in Goblin Slayer are pretty good. This is where Tsurugi no Otome starts to have more scenes than season 1 lol. And there are many new characters but they are not known in depth because the story is fast and there may not be time for deeper introductions. But the team in Goblin Slayer here is very good and always improves chemistry Visual (9) : Honestly, Season 2's visuals are better than season 1 & the goblins crown movie. This season really sharpens the character designs and the surrounding environment Audio (8) : I don't like the OP, but the audio is fine in every scene. and there is also a suitable OST for each scene according to the theme. Like adventure, drinking at the bar, action, and so on

I loved the first season. From the world-building, to establishing the party, and all the way up to the final battle. It was a brutal, graphic, no-holds-barred slaying of a seemingly endless horde of baddies. It was medieval DOOM and we all loved it! So, how does one follow what turned out to be a fairly straight-forward story about one man's endless war against an unrelenting horde of semi-intelligent creatures? With a middling movie. And a second season that hits so far below the mark that the arrow did a straight nosedive not even a foot after being fired. The animation isn't what it used to be. In the first two episodes alone are more stills during fight scenes than a manga. The action is relegated to speed lines in still images and when it does have animation, it's usually depicting the aftermath of a hit. There is no impact to anything, so you don't feel that any attack has done anything. I wish the action scenes were the only offenders, but the entire show seems to have taken a hit. The first season was no Mushoku Tensei in terms of every frame being as vibrant and life-like as possible, but it wasn't slouching either. Here, simple things like expressions and movement feel incredibly stilted, as if the characters are terrified of moving for fear of hurting themselves. The story is as basic as its first season, except we now have a reminder of Priestess's first party. Yeah! Remember them? That party of no-names we never saw again? Man, that takes me back... I won't lie that the emotional fallout from the first season falls flat when almost every scene that should resonate is either sped through or lacks any insight. There is a point during the season when Priestess does something and the light novel makes it clear how her patron deity reacts. In the anime, we get a moment where Priestess appears bothered, followed by a moment at the end of the episode where she is now relieved. I was confused if what she did affected her so much, or if there was something else going on. SO GLAD THE STUDIO SAW FIT TO CONTEXTUALIZE THAT! /s The sound design is... fine. Mili is on the OP again, and you know that stuff's lit as heck. Unfortunately, in what I can only assume was an ill-advised attempt to validate the terribly-animated action sequences, Goblin Slayer's theme is used ALL THE TIME. Oh, and given the nature of the show, this means there is at least 1 action scene every 1-2 episode. It's as if the studio heads are screaming "ARE YOU HYPE YET?" into our ears while showing us pages from the Berserk manga. Don't get me wrong, Berserk as a property is amazing as heck and should be appreciated in both manga and anime. I'm just saying if you're going to blast a metal track, there better be a 3-5 minute sequence of gore and violence galore. Overall, this entire season just felt so flat and lifeless. White Fox did the first season while LidenFilms was in charge of adapting the second season. Lidenfilms were the studio behind Berserk 2016 and The modern adaptation of Arslan. Unfortunately, that also means their trademark "polish" carries over to Goblin Slayer II. All I can say is if this series gets a season 3, don't let LidenFilms within a 500km radius of it!

Good evening, this is my personal review of Goblin Slayer II, hope you'll enjoy it Starting with the plot: 6 Talking about the plot itself we still don't know much about this world, meanwhile the story's progress in season 2 honestly is nothing special. Animation: 7 Animations overall are good, nothing big. Music: 8 Some of the soundtrack will give you hype and good vibes, furthermore I liked the opening and the ending as well. Characters: 6 First of all, I like the fact that the protagonist looks so mysterious with a strong discipline mindset, however all the characters are so stereotyped that sometimes I feel really bored. Entertainment: 6 In every episode there is some task adventure that the group needs to complete, that usually make you feel interested on what's going on even though there are lots of fillers. Overall is a 7 and I still recommend you to give a try to this show because I still hope the next seasons are going to be fire Thank you for the reading :)

Yet another thrilling and entertaining season of Goblin Slayer. The only shame is that it does not reveal any crucial backstory and is rather a series of short stories. With one having an annoying extra character. It's not so deep as a first-season and it looks like they had to cut some mature content that was in a first season the strawberry on a cake. Plus I think the budget was tighter for some reason. For everyone who enjoyed the first season, I can somehow recommend it. Just don't expect the same feel as in the first season or the movie. Be sure to watch the movie first there are some little references to it. Those who haven't yet seen the first season go for it. It is worth watching.

God, this feels like the most disappointing seasonal of Fall to be honest. I thought the first season was pretty fun, not perfect, nor anything to grant it a stay in the minds of weebs after it was over, but an entertaining piece with a very interesting idea that executed it perfectly with decent animation and a very exciting DOOM-esque soundtrack. The most stay it had on people, mostly Twitter, was the "controversy" of the first episode that displayed the depravity and violence of the goblins, ignorant of the fact that that was the point, and what made the first appearance of the Slayer memorable and important, which allowed the show build on a proper foundation and premise. It was a scene made to make you demonize goblins and sympathize with the Slayer. It didn't matter though, because that was the kind of publicity a relatively unknown show like Goblin Slayer needed, after all, there's no bad publicity, as long as you say the name right. That said, it came as a shock to me that at the start of the first episode, and every episode following afterwards until the end...came a warning about the violent themes and scenes that might trigger people. This to me, while at first may seem fairly harmless, is one of the first signs of how the show got sterilized. For what reason, I do not know, it still has a 17+ rating, and from what I know of other shows of that rating, they didn't need a blatant warning like this. The other reason, comes from the animation. White Fox did a good job animating the first season, all things considered. The combination of hand-drawn animation and CG, combined with the immaculate sound design, and context given by the Slayer and first-hand experience of the Priestess, led to perfectly delivering the cathartic violence and horror the show got known for. It makes sense why they were good at delivering that violence, as they had experience with other shows of similar rating, like Akame Ga Kill. Liden Films however...has none of that experience. While they have animated some lesser known shows that have explicit violence, it's clear that they're more comfortable with lighthearted shows or shounen shows that aren't as explicit or gorey like Goblin Slayer. It's clear that the animation and visual design has taken a drop in quality evidently by just looking at the character designs, but beyond that, the action scenes lack the dynamic energy that the first season has. The action feels more hollow, less gorey, less viscera, and less energy, with even sound design taking a nosedive in quality as the main theme is overused without any good execution. As a result, this diminishes the quality of the show, and turns it from a R18+ show to something akin to a 12+ show, something it clearly isn't, but clearly masquerades as. Thankfully, the story is fine...ish. I think the first half of the story was fine (a bit lacking though), but the second half fell flat on it's face when it picked up the pace. I think it did a good job in trying to expand Goblin Slayer as a character. The first season concluded by finally getting to know the man behind the mask, his backstory, why he does what he does. The second season starts by getting to know the man personally, with all the nuances, his ambitions, his life, his regrets, and how he improves socially. Where before he was socially outcast among adventurers, here he has talks with fellow, more experienced members, and his own teammates. He gets included more with guild activities, and he helps new adventurers personally, and by the end, he is left happy, a clear, coherent sign of character development that I enjoy. By the second half however, it decides to pick up the pace, or at least it tries to, until it's too late. The elven kingdom arc feels half-baked, with a climax that has a lot of potential for development for the Priestess, but never goes anywhere. It seemed like a filler arc without any substance or development, sure, it helps with the worldbuilding, and we have a touching moment where a survivor interacts with the Slayer (it was executed pretty poorly, however), but it could've been omitted without any loss of meaningfulness, and it's clear that a lot of stuff was cut from this arc to save time, if the terrible animation and combat scenes didn't make that evident enough for people. Time that doesn't even feel like it amounted to anything, because the final arc of the season is over and done by two episodes, without any emotional impact, or any proper conclusions, as if it was another enemy of the week Slayer and crew had to deal with. It even omits characters that were thought to be of some importance, like the Swordsman who had the same glow in his eyes like the Slayer, which I found ridiculous to say the least, why would you tease a character and then give him only a cold open's worth of screentime? It just doesn't make sense. Overall, Season 2 of Goblin Slayer was a disappointing mess, and an example of how not to handle a sequel properly by an animation studio, either by indifference or inexperience. I believe it has some qualities of the first season still in there, but they're more or less muddled by the drop of quality everywhere. Ironic, the scene that gave the show a chance in the spotlight is what ultimately doomed the sequel, whether it liked it or not. Sterilization, a fate many a shows mired with people that can't conform to disturbing themes have fallen into, and many that can't recover from. If there will ever be a third season, let's hope they won't fall prey to the same mistake twice.

All the reasons you could have loved season 1 for are completely gone season 2 is watered down so much now they just imply or censor most of the dark moments, quality is ok but say goodbye to the animation you will rarely see anything fresh or new, I think you can count on 2 hands the amount of times the mc actually hitting something animated, skipped over good moments from LN/Manga. Did have wholesome moments like that bridge scene but that's literally about it, the entire thing is rushed. Season 1 was so different and unique from most other animes and season 2 was a spit to the face. People saying this season is good most likely watched every single marvel movie, or they will consume anything thrown at them

So, I've now finished Goblin Slayer II and, I must say, that it doesn't have the same gravitas that season 1 did. Although still very enjoyable and something that does stand-out above the heaps of generic fantasy/isekai trash that are pouring out lately, I do not think that this stands out as high as S1 did initially. I could call it watered-down, as the show does still depict graphic scenes and lots of brutal goblin-murdering, but again, the shock-factor and gruesomeness of S2 is just not on the same level as S1. This season focusses far more on the Priestess growing as a person, coming to terms with her faults and becoming a far more reliable and engaged member of the party. We also get some slight backstory on High Elf Archer and why she's an adventurer in such a ragtag group. This is all weaved together with the typical goblin-massacring from the previous season, although, again, not to the same brutal degree. I will also say that some of the later episodes felt odd, not that I can quite put my finger on why. I personally noticed some major pacing-shifts and a strange dip/changing of animation style and quality. Might be just me though. Overall, it is more Goblin Slayer, just a slightly toned-down version to focus more on character growth this season. I'll give it a 7/10.

Story: 6.5 Characters: 7.5 Animation: 7.5 Sound: 9 Enjoyment: 8 Overall: 7.7/10 Slower-paced, less action, and with an episodic feel to it this time around. To top it all off, we have a studio change which is kinda hit and miss at the same time. For some, all of this is a deal breaker. But not for me. S2 of Goblin Slayer was like revisiting an old friend; not quite the same as the last time I saw them, but after an icebreaker it's as if we never parted ways. The new animation/character designs can feel a little jarring at first, but either they got better at capturing White Fox's style as the season went on or I simply got used to it with time. Still a downgrade overall, IMO. The characters of Goblin Slayer are back to their usual shenanigans, with some new faces added to the mix, some good and some not-so-good, but I suppose that's just par for the course. The old favorites are still solid and at the forefront, so no complaints from me. Mili's back at it with another solid OP theme, which I'll admit didn't click initially like "Rightfully" did, but it grew on me as the season went on. Now on the other hand, "To the Misty Side" by Yuki Nakashima absolutely blew my expectations away. It might just be my favorite ED of the Fall 2023 season. She nailed it, 100%. The OST, on the other hand... nothing stood out to me, but hey, 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'. To conclude, I'll say this: S2 is not like S1. I cannot guarantee that S2 will land as a fan of S1. All I can ask is to keep an open mind, and remember that ol' Goblin Slayer is, and always will be, all about the goblins. Nothing more, nothing less. Expect some greater-arching story, or large amounts of character development, and you'll be destined for disappointment. It's all about the goblin slaying, friends. Gotta purge 'em all. 8/10, S3 when?

I'm really a fan of this anime and I'm happy with it because I started the anime season 1 with the idea of watching a borderline hentai anime, but after watching this season I surprised myself invested in the show. To begin with, the developments of the secondary characters slow down the pace of this season, which makes it a little unpleasant for spectators who want action, for me too, to be honest, but as for Goblin Slayer and the Priestess it was really enjoyable. to follow their change as the priestess hardens more and more goblin slayer detaches himself from his obsession even if it is not obvious. Nothing to say about the art, it was correct, there is the animation which struggles a little, more precisely in terms of the facial expressions of the characters but when it takes action the level rises without censoring anything. The opening "Entertainment" by Mili is one of my favorites, the songs put me in the mood of the anime Personally I highly recommend watching, the anime is very realistic and makes us notice that we are made to follow a powerless MC who is struggling to kill goblins, no last minute level up. PS-I WANTED TO SEE HIS FUCKING HEAD

A sequel that further captivated me in the world of the work. Perhaps my rating will be a little controversial for some people, mainly because I know many expected more from this second season. Still, to be completely honest, I really enjoyed Goblin Slayer II. Much of this comes from the immense affection I have for the universe of the work, especially since I already knew parts of the original material and the manga, which further expand this world. One of the things I like most about Goblin Slayer is precisely the concept of the story. Unlike many fantasy anime where the protagonist is "the chosen one," destined to defeat the demon king and save the world, here we have a much more human and limited character. The Goblin Slayer is not the legendary hero of prophecy. He is just an adventurer obsessed with exterminating goblins, creatures that are usually seen as small and insignificant threats by stronger adventurers. And that's exactly what makes the work so interesting to me. While the great heroes are busy facing gigantic threats, wars, and demons, Goblin Slayer fights to protect small villages, ordinary families, and people who would be completely forgotten in this world. The work constantly conveys the feeling that the world keeps turning regardless of whether the protagonist exists or not. There are bigger adventures happening elsewhere, but he chose to focus on the "smaller" problem because he understands the suffering caused by goblins better than anyone. This idea makes the universe feel extremely alive. The second season continues to explore this well, in addition to developing the protagonist's companions better. I really enjoyed seeing the interactions between the group, especially because now they seem much closer and more experienced together. The relationship between the characters conveys a genuine sense of camaraderie built after several battles and traumatic situations. I also really like how Goblin Slayer manages to balance brutality with lighter moments. Despite the dark atmosphere and heavy violence, there are calm and even comfortable scenes involving the characters in their daily lives. These moments greatly help create attachment to the group and make the dangers even more impactful when they arise. Regarding the animation, I admit it's far from technically impressive. It's not a season known for its absurd fluidity or visually revolutionary scenes. However, honestly, I completely bought into the visual style of the work. The character and creature designs remain very interesting, and the art direction maintains that dark and oppressive tone that perfectly matches the universe. The setting works very well precisely because Goblin Slayer never tried to look like an extremely colorful epic fantasy. The focus here is on conveying tension, grime, danger, and discomfort. At various moments, the direction manages to create a heavy atmosphere using only lighting, silence, and simple settings. The soundtrack also greatly contributes to the immersion. It's not extremely memorable individually, but it works very well accompanying the scenes of exploration, combat, and tension. It was enough to make me even more involved in that universe. I think part of the reason I like this season so much is because I really bought into the work's premise from the beginning. I was really looking forward to a sequel, and when it finally arrived, I was able to thoroughly enjoy what was delivered. Of course, I recognize that the season could have been better in some technical aspects and perhaps even in the pacing of certain arcs, but even so, I had a lot of fun watching it. In fact, I've already rewatched this season several times and I still really enjoy the experience. This shows how well this universe works for me. There's something very satisfying about following simple strategies, brutal survival, and smaller adventures within such a well-structured fantasy world. I highly recommend it to fans of dark fantasy, adventure, and medieval RPGs. Although it's not exactly a traditional epic adventure anime, it delivers a very engaging experience for those who enjoy dangerous worlds, brutal combat, and more "down-to-earth" protagonists. The violence is heavy at various points, but it's also precisely part of the work's identity. Goblin Slayer manages to transform creatures normally seen as weak into truly terrifying threats, and this makes each confrontation tense and fun to watch. My final score is 9/10. Despite some issues, it was a sequel that completely captivated me once again within the universe of the work.

This season is quite... Okay let's just cut to the chase this season is a bit underwhelming compared to the previous season but that doesn't meant that it's bad by any means. It just mean that it doesn't quite hit the same as the first season. An that's okay. Let's start with the story, the story is pretty good with its usual goblin slayer schticks and this anime is pretty much just a more dangerous slice of life in my opinion(okay ig it's adventure anime). But i the thing that i likes more in this season is there are more characterization for the Slayer and it's delves into his more personal feeling more than ever and how he feels about his life and how he goes about in it.Also this season feels just more cheerier even though we got a more diving into slayer character as person (maybe it's because the characters smile a lot more than they have in the previous season,in which it felt a bit more dreade to live in this campaign) Also what is up with it's pacing of the story around the first half of the season,it felt quite janky and rushed to watched with some battle just ended abrubtly, and other thing why in the actual f we are introducing this annoying red haired kid that only serves as plot device for the priestess to grow and they also did not make it bearable with his squeaky voice and an action that is so short sighted that i felt like a dumbass wrote them. Animation quality dropped dramatically compared to first season and the movie. Also the art style is quite jarring compared to the previous installastion(They absolutely MASSACRES,MASSACRES the witch girl by making her looks cuter by sacrifing her Milfy traits,i fell down on my knees upon gazing such massacres that they have done to the witch)The sword maiden is cuter in this season without sacrificing her milfy traits. And the animation in this season, the art frame becomes more detailed and by doing so it makes teh animation considerably stiffer than the last season by a mile. The OST is allright and i don't vibe with its op and ed personally. So in conclusion this is a pretty good seaso that excel a bit more than in a first season while also underperform in some other aspect. Story is 8/10 Animation: 6/10 Art: 8/10 OST:6/10 VA:8/10 So overall it's a 7/10 anime.(good)

AYOO i've watching this from s1 and movies i can easily this felt like the weakest season but they tried doing the other approach of character development but man this has its flaws.. . all n all he was slaying goblin in 1st season the movie and this season but it didn't fall of anything severe came which makes me feel it is set to have more season.. . though my favorites would be the fights and the time spend with the rookie i hated that kid and wanted goblin slayer to save him but the way it developed i would say this anime shined there and reminded me somewhat of s1 . . i would say i even some problems with the fights i know this anime is trying him to portray him as the minimalist hero who fights his opponents like a elden ring boss but man this felt straight up bad i didn't like the troll fight what were those spells and how it all happened....its good he is not lonely anymore and working its good but this season failed to what can i say what goblin slayer as a character this season felt a like a laidback approach .....he goes to enjoy... goblins..,he is training others...Goblins....i would say at this point goblins are growing more powerful quicker than the mc...they fascinate me more now than the actual characters ...its funny but it should not be like this i really liked s1 and movie was nice too..but god ... .but after all these season i'm happy seeing goblin slayer conflicted on his life choices and it just makes me happy and more interested to what would be the future . . Thank You..... .so would say its a fine season...looking forward to the next...until next time..bye...

The most noticeable difference between the second season of goblin slayer and the season and movie that came before it is the animation quality. There's way less cgi and even goblin slayer himself is animated all of the time. The story takes place after the events in the movie. Knowledge of the events that happen in the movie is crucial in understanding some events in this season. This season's story consists of three separate self-contained arcs and involves slaying goblins for wildly different people. It's not the best story but it's better than the movie at least. Personally I was also annoyed with factual inaccuracies in the story such as acting as if alcohol warms you up while in actuality it cools you down faster. The characters are basically all the same as the previous season with only temporary side-characters being introduced. This season however seems to play up the harem element of the story more which I don't think makes a lot of sense because goblin slayer still has the social skills of a sentient rock. High elf archer is still cute though so that makes up for it. The voice acting was good and really suits the different characters. The music was okay. As noted earlier the animation was way better than in the previous season/movie with only some far-away shots looking kind of weird. Overview shots of the inns/pubs were especially well done with lots of characters moving about and conversations taking place at the same time giving you a nice feel for the atmosphere. Overall this seems like an acceptable second season that you should bother watching if you liked the first season/movie. If you disliked those then this won't be much better.

Simply put, this is not Goblin Slayer. First seaon of Goblin Slayer would always remain a legend, a kind of unique concept, showing realism in it's more crude and brutal reality of a world where monsters exist and people need monster killers to survive. Monster killers, who are either naive adventurers who get a grip on reality, the bad way, or just survivors, who have lost innocence and have motivations against those beings. We get to see this following the story of the goblin slayer, who turns out to be a very smart and interesting character. The season is about exploring this character and some of his relations. Season 2 however, lacks of any of the elements that made Season 1 great. It lacks the crudeness and realism of the first one. It tones down a lot od the darkness and gore, to make it look more like just another generic fantasy anime with monsters. The animation is bad, it focuses and introduces on other characters who are very uninteresting. Things that made the slayer appear smart are traeted like tropes, there's no real tactics or thought behind the fights, they are very simple and bland. There's really nothing interesting to explore, and there's also nothing flashy that confuses you into thinking you are watching some cool anime. As it stands, it's like a 5/10 anime, but seeing where it stood, the rank goes to the ground.
