Skeleton Knight in Another World

Now that the Anime is over I thought of writing a review as it is one that I really enjoyed. So first of all, the story, and being an "Isekai" we're going to have your typical plot where the protagonist get transported to another world and, in this case, and many other Animes, the main character is overpowered. If this is a boring story to you as you already seen it many times then you won't enjoy it as much, but in my case, this wasn't a factor as I went with an open mind, and thankfully I did because it was a great Anime. Not a masterpiece or anything like that but still a really interesting and fun one. I really enjoyed the "social" aspect of it, seeing different species or races interact with each other and the problems that surge with it and how they try to solve them is always a really interesting plot point to me. I never felt like dropping it or that I was getting bored, which of course is always a good sign, especially the second part because little anime manage to do that with ease as many get stale or lose their "charm" the first couple of episodes. I guess the only "critique" I would have is that I wanted to see more of the royals and their lives and problems, but I guess that is just how things had to be as not everything can fit into one 20-22 minute episode, and maybe we would've missed some other important plot point if they did that. The characters were enjoyable and funny, which is something you would want in almost every anime you watch as it keeps you entertained and always having a laugh. Not every Anime needs to have super relatable characters that have a complex background and traumas, especially for an Anime of this nature, so if you're expecting something like that then you're already kinda misguided. Not that they don't exist or that it is an excuse for not having characters like that, but that most Anime like this don't follow that trend. But yeah overall a very good Anime. Especially good to chill and have a great time. You will have your laughs here and there and will always find yourself wanting to see more.

Hi there. It's me, Ark. You know, after years of countless trash that takes itself too seriously I'm glad I got to watch something that is fun again within this genre. Before isekai ruined most of the fantasy genre in Japan with it's eye rolling, self insert excrement, instant slave love interest and a total lack of adventure we simply had Fantasy. Gaikotsu, despite being an isekai feels more like the old anime with it's one dimensional yet endearing characters, somewhat linear story...in another world. Let's see then, the story is the usual. Guy finds himself in another world except he is a skelly now. The happy chap then goes on to find other friends (Ponta, Ariane and Doggo Ninja) to go on a journey to rescue captured non humans. It is very formulaic and nothing that happens within the story should surprise you. This is as vanilla as something can get without being insulting. From the humor, the quirky music to the art shift everything fit just right. My one complaint was some of the cgi and action sequences but it wasn't anything to bad. It was a good intro to the manga and hopefully a second season. Lord Touch Me approved.

Are there better anime's out there? Yes. Is this still worth watching? A resounding yes! First let me just say, if you have to compare it to Overlord because the MC is a skeleton, then why watch any anime, as all anime have very similar characters to other anime out there. I could list examples but Id literally be here all day. I have 35 years of anime under my belt, this is not the best but it is far from the worst. This is a fun adventure anime. Plot points are generic typical plots, villain's are your typical villain's, and the humor is on point (I laugh quite a few times). I love the character interactions and the reactions seen when side characters see Arc for the first time without his helm on. I own the manga and even knowing what was coming up, I was looking forward to seeing the next episode when it come out. All in all I rate this an 8 because I'm not sitting there dissecting every little thing to find a fault within it. They say there are only seven basic narrative plots in all of storytelling so nothing out there is original in any way, but this anime is still fun and exciting to follow along with regardless of any similarities it might share with other anime out there. I hope you enjoy the show as much as I did.

Skeleton knight has perfected the Fantasy Isekai formula, We got the controversial EYE catcher first episode where a princess almost gets raped but is saved by Mr.Skeletor, her relevance after the fact? NONE AT ALL, does she exist just for that shock factor and get viewers in (or some may call it fanservice if you do please stay in your cave xD) Skeleton knight is actually a really decent show, and for its category, it is probably one of the best shows with such a low budget that remain relatively entertaining. It's quite clever, there is just enough magic and mystery to make it interesting, A more comedic approach that doesn't hype the viewer and makes them set high expectations ofc….. Easy isekai fantasy nerd bait which they play really well where justice is served! And the MC is hollow enough (Personality wise) that you feel that you are making the swing of the sword (Self-insert!). WE GOT… Hot isekai Women with big tids 1 is enslaved by rapey scum who need to commit die Hot isekai Women with big tids 2 is being chased by beasts that need to commit die HIWwbt 3 (cmon you already know at this point) 3 was killed by and fed to the beasts by some dude so he must be evil and need to commit die HIWwbt 4 is saved by Skeletor so she must throw them tids at him right? HIWwbt elf gets jealous by this NTR shit and hence we get a tsundere SHIP bravo! Time to get your numbers fix! Plot(6/10) It makes the plot move just enough forward so that the journey is validated, there is just the right amount of mystery that does not try to be too grandiose or collapse in on itself. It mostly goes through saving enslaved people, and finding a method to get Skeletor back to human again, (Why tho?) or a really weird comedy that makes you cringe/hurl. The fanservice (if you can even call it that) is very tasteless and mostly will make you a bit uncomfortable. Characters(7/10) Generic archetypes but they do not try to take themselves seriously and at the very least never break character and stay consistent. Skeletor is a Funny goofball big guy and mostly lacks any personality and acts almost how any isekai fan would when isekaied (and hence is really good self-insert). We got an Elf girl who is serious and straightforward but a weak drunk (what a surprise). A beast loli ninja whose character design is quite nice ngl. Sound and VA (6/10) The sound is shit, the anime has low budget but hot damn I'm still very impressed, it's the best low-budget sound and OSt placement i could find , the music is chill and they make the most out of it by not overusing or underusing the ost, OP is actually rather unique even tho definitely done by a recognized person and probably the only high budget thing I could find.ED is also rather catchy and the Use of CGI is pretty nice unlike most anime. VAs do an ok job no great performances tho. Art and animation (6/10) The CGI in this anime is really good. Most zoom-outs have Skeletor and Arianne in CG and they look pretty nice almost like a 3D JRPG game. The animation in 2D is really shit tho with still frames and a few speed lines and shit to make it look impactful XD, they should've just gone 3D given that the CGI team seems to know what they are doing. Generic slow-paced Isekai, the fanservice is tasteless tho and the comedy, for the most part, does not hit, it's your call id say give the first episode a shot and if you find yourself enjoying it, you can probably make it to the end.

First thing to say is, this has to be one of the single worst adaptions I've personally ever watched, so if you have read the light novel, avoid at all costs and just continue reading, alternatively if you have watched this already I heavily suggest starting the light novel from the beginning as they cut and change far to much just from the first volume alone. The changes made make the pacing of this series far to quick, they also butcher how the main character actually acts in the original source. Secondly, how almost all characters act is completely different from how they should act based off of the original source, I couldn't even bring myself to enjoy hate watching this after I realised how much had changed within, and I'm not joking, the first 2 minutes. Avoid at all costs, a very fun and well paced story has been butchered with this adaptation.

Semoga si Arc ini (MC) bisa makin deket ama Ariane >< 8/10 #ArianeCakepBats ENG : Unique, an anime I watched last year, or something like 2024, but I didn't continue because i had to leave and forgot to continue. It's actually a pretty average anime about an overpowered MC who gets sucked into an isekai game, but I think the plus points are the relaxed graphics, a story that doesn't just depict him as an op, and some fan service, lol. It tells the story of a skeleton traveling around adventuring with elves and ninjas, and finding a goal to return the MC's body to normal that's roughly the story. I think the MC is overpowered, so during season 1, there haven't been any intense, or at least exciting, fights that weren't easy to finish, which makes it impossible for the MC to unleash his full power. The jokes are also included, but they're not too cringy or forced. They show that Ariane is starting to develop feelings for the MC, but they're not overly obvious. Overall, I continued season 1 because there was a sequel in July 2026. It turned out to be fun, and I think season 2 will be even more exciting. Judging from the trailer, the animation and voice actors also look interesting and have the potential to be a good anime. This could also be the main part of the story. Hopefully, the Arc (MC) can get closer to Ariane >< 8/10 #ArianeCakepBats

Skeleton Knight in Another World The anime felt so similar to " Overlord " in the first episode as the MC is litrally a SKELETON and we all know the great " Lord Ainz " . WELL NOW TO THE REVIEW : The anime is great the story telling the plot everything sets right somehow evern tho there are multiple mini arcs in the show nothing feels clumsy and the relationship between Arc and Ariane is too good to watch the anime , also Arc being an Otaku while naratting things is so fun to watch. As the Season 2 is set to air on July 2026, I'm eagerly waiting to watch more of Arc and Ariane !

In this show, we have a "Junk food" isekai that is mildly amusing at times but quite forgettable overall. There isn't really anything special that this show brings to the table. It's a classic overpowered-but-not-human isekai a la Overlord with some clear inspirations from both Overlord and FMA:Brotherhood. The animation is not particularly great (not super bad, but it noticeably avoids any action with a lot of movement), the plot is neither novel nor memorable, and the show opens with an unsavory and wholly unnecessary scene of sexual violence, but this show can be something to watch when you just want to turn your brain off or when you've run out of better anime to watch.
GothGirl88
You know what, I was really surprised when I read the reviews of the hate this anime adaption receives. This is the second time I have seen people complain about animes with similar characters. I wish people would put aside similar animes and just watch a show for what it is. It may have similarities with other titles, but it should just be enjoyed in it's own right. The art style was good as well as the fluidity of the combat scenes. It was funny & ott with some hilarious scenes. The fact they put Ponta in sealed the deal. It was a good fantasy isekai. Episode 1 however wasn't for me , due to inappropriate sexual references to rape. It's a shame we've been left with more questions than answers, as there seems to be little hope for a season 2. I want to see Arc break the curse!

tl;dr: An anime with a really fun pair of main characters that are easy to root for, but with not enough going on beyond that. This anime is about Arc, a guy that suddenly wakes up as an overpowered version of his MMO avatar. Yes, it’s not enough to just wake up as a powerful MMO character, but rather he wakes up with skills beyond what his MMO avatar was cable of. The catch is that his MMO avatar was a skeleton, which humans generally consider enemies. He wears full plate armor that covers everything so it’s not that hard to hide this, but the threat of discovery continues to exist. As such, he plans to live a quiet inconspicuous life despite how powerful he is. However, when he encounters an elf named Ariane he finds a cause worthy of standing out, freeing her enslaved brethren. For the most part this anime flows a lot like the typical OP protagonist anime. It’s heavily centered around building up to moments where Arc is OP and saves the day. There are a couple things that help it stand out though. The first is that Arc and the main heroine Ariane are both great characters. Arc himself is incredibly simple, in that he’s just a hero being heroic for heroism’s sake without any sort of overarching goal or purpose. However, he does that in such a jolly and unapologetic manner that he is a lot of fun to watch. Also, while most OP isekai protagonists seems to lean towards the sin of lust with harems and all that, Arc’s vice is definitely gluttony in that he’s all about the food life, which is amusing seeing as he’s just a pile of bones that is for unexplained reasons able to eat and drink. Ariane has the goal of saving her fellow elves from slave traders, which is easy to empathize and root for. She’s a very cool character as well, which contrasts really well with Arc being a dork so they play well off each other. She’s an elf that distrusts humans due to how they’ve wronged elves, but comes around to trusting Arc, and shows signs of being romantically interested in him. He’s dense as a brick though and doesn’t notice. In romance anime this can be frustrating as it’s hindering progression, but when it’s just a minor plot thread like in this anime I find it really funny. Also, she has a fantastic design that the anime uses really well. The second thing that makes this anime stand out is the larger implications of the overpowered acts. As far as Arc is concerned, he’s just helping people. There are no larger implications to what he’s doing. Thus, the story from his perspective has a very simple black and white morality that makes it easy for the viewer to get invested in and to find the results of his actions satisfying. However, unbeknownst to him, there’s political intrigue happening in the background with three siblings fighting over a throne and two foreign nations backing different princes. Arcs actions have major effects on how this is playing out, which is both amusing and quite interesting. The added complexity here compliments the simplicity of Arcs journey quite well without getting in the way of it, which results in a pretty unique and interesting feel to the anime. I’m also very interested in how things will proceed once these lines fully cross. With that said, the anime definitely has some major weaknesses. For one, there are no characters other than Arc and Ariane that were handled even remotely well. They’re all incredibly flat without anything interesting about them whatsoever. Arc and Ariane are great, but not enough to hold up the show completely on their own. Second, while Arc being overpowered is focused on quite a bit, the anime is not all that great at actually making Arc seem overpowered. He’s generally very slow to act, and even when he does act he takes a long time before actually doing anything overpowered for some reason. And in that gap things often go wrong in one way or another, or other characters end up helping him out, which kind of diminishes things. Thirdly, while the world building with the politics in the human kingdom and their relationship with the elves is interesting, it feels kind of half assed a lot of the time. I suppose this’ll be fleshed out better as it comes more into the focus, but as of now it felt really undeveloped. The art and animation in the anime are pretty good. It uses CGI for the main characters quite a lot, but it worked a lot better than in most anime that do the same. The use of the visual motif of Arc with one glowing eye was really interesting and resembled Goblin Slayer a lot. Beyond that, I felt his character designs was somewhat boring. Ariane had an amazing design as mentioned, but she seems to be the only one as everyone else’s was pretty lacking. The OP was pretty interesting in that it was more like a montage with background music than an OP, but it worked well enough I suppose. The ED was more like a traditional ED but was only okay in terms of song and visuals. The ED’s visuals leaned on not so good CGI too much. The soundtrack was decent but not particularly memorable.

Is the story unique? If it was predictable, did you enjoy it anyway because you like this genre/set-up? Yeah, but it was still enjoyable because of how the MC acts throughout the season. Do you think the art style is fitting for the story? Hmmm, mostly. It's a little... interesting at first... but you get used to it. Were the characters well-rounded? Did they have flaws and strengths, or were they unusually strong/smart/stupid? Yeah, they were pretty well rounded. Or the protags were at least. the Antags weren't super well rounded, but that's how most villains in 12 ep long, fantasy animes are, right? Did the characters react to situations and events in a realistic way? Erm... for the most part no. Same old anime fashion. Do you think others will enjoy/dislike this series, even if you didn't? Why? I think others will like it if there looking for a casual fantasy anime that follows the story, but in such a way that isn't super serious.

Some people compare this series to Overlord since both of them feature a random guy being sucked into a surprisingly dark fantasy world as his overpowered skeleton character from MMO RPG. The similarities end there. Thankfully! First, let's make one thing clear - Arc isn't half as overpowered as Ainz. He's still legendary, but he lacks the endless layering of cheats that let Ainz trivialize each and every fight in series. Arc is still overwhelming but he actually works within the narrative confines of his story. Second thing I would like to discuss about Arc is his personalty. Arc is one of the most earnest and heroic guys in you'll find in modern isekai. People call him bland and uninspired, but I've never saw him that way. It's clear that his main motivations are his lust for life and sheer love of adventure. He's a guy given power of a titan and willing to use to save others! Watching this dufus enter grim and dark world and start to carve his way through rapists, bandits, slavers and monsters is pure pleasure. Arc is the kind of guy to obliterate a group of bandits purely because it's a right thing to do. As we can see in the first episode, the only hesitation he felt was trying to figure out the right tactics. He's not a perfect paragon or even a particularly uptight one, but watching dude shamelessly help himself to villains' treasures makes him feel like a proper old school fantasy hero. As for the rest of cast we have his main party: Lalatoya, the dark elf warrior seeking to free the elves taken by the slavers and Ponta, kitsune forest spirit hanging out with Arc after being healed by him. Their recurring allies are the beastmen ninja: Chiyome and Goemon working on their own quest against the slavers. Plot - the spoiler free description of the plot is: Arc arrives, tries to learn more about this new world without revealing himself and then, due to his desire to help people in need, gets involved in a conflict against slavers. All I can say without giving up too much details is that slavers are surprisingly good opponents, since dealing with corrupt nobles and saving prisoners requires something more than a raw power. Overall, this series is a genuinely great series, even if the initial premise is rather cheesy and all of the explicit content warnings shown are very much justified. I can recommend it, especially if you are bored with the recent influx of amoral and cynical protagonists.
Gameboon
I’m a sucker for isekai series, but many of them really aren’t all that great. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much from Skeleton Knight in Another World. But I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. So, usually I would start off with some of the pros of a series. This time, however, I will start with the cons for a very good reason. At first glance it is obvious that Skeleton Knight takes some “inspiration” from other popular isekai series. It then goes on to hit all the marks that I consider to be typical red flags for a fantasy and/or isekai series. Either because those choices are not my taste, because they are lazy writing or simply have been used too often to be considered original anymore. The main character Arc is overpowered both stats-wise and in terms of unique abilities and powerful gear. Not only that, our skeletal hero has no attachment to his previous life. His immediate reaction to finding himself in a game world is excitement and little else. Furthermore, Arc has no real goal or personality to speak of. He has less depth than a cardboard cutout and the initiative of a wet paper towel. The plot is straightforward and led along more by the other main character, the dark elf Ariane, than by Arc himself. In fact, Ariane has more of a personal background and personality than Arc does. Knowing all the above, why do I still give this series a decent score? Despite the lack of certain qualities, I enjoyed watching Skeleton Knight in Another World. It’s very clear that the series is very much self-aware of the genre conventions and tropes and chooses to engage in them regardless. The main character calls out some of these things very early on, and by stating them, he makes them less grating and annoying. Instead, it turns into a comedy. If the writer and main character obviously won’t take this world seriously, then why should the viewer? This atmosphere manifests in a lighthearted show glossing over worldbuilding in favor of entertainment value. Arc is an idiot and at times makes the series feel like a parody. He, and some of his interactions, are over-the-top but in a good way. He’s simply enthusiastic about the world around him, It’s very much an easy, simple, turn-your-brain-off and watch kind of show. None of the characters are particularly deep but the way they play off each other is cause for humor nonetheless. And despite initial similarities to other shows in the genre, Skeleton Knight diverges off into its own path pretty quickly. It’s very hard to put my finger on the how or why, but there’s a certain charm that kept me watching and entertained. In fact, I am curious how the rest of Arc’s adventure continues after the events in the anime. Now, for the visuals and audio. The character designs are not too sophisticated but decent enough to look at. The mascot, Ponta, is especially adorable and Ariane looks good as well. The animation seems to have had a pretty good budget and there’s nothing I can complain about. The 3DCG used in Skeleton Knight is in fact quite good. And as far as music goes, the opening and ending songs are absolute bangers. There are several background songs that sound excellent, a bit folksy and upbeat. I would say that the music is above average in quality as far as anime OSTs go. In the end, I can recommend the series so long as you can turn your brain off and not question whatever happens on the screen. If you can, you’ll have a good time with Skeleton Knight in Another World.

A disappointing example of wasted potential. What do we see in the opening sequence? A skeleton dude who smokes cigars, quaffs wine, loves good food, fears no one, and laughs with a good-natured, honest, full-bellied laughter. An exuberant character who drinks life by the gallon, who lets nothing get him down, and who is _fun_ to be with. What do we get in the show? Generic overpowered protagonist, who never shows his face, always eats alone, talks as generically as possible, and generally goes out of his way to *avoid* being interesting. The gimmick here, meant to distinguish this from other isekai, is that the hero, Arc, cannot show his face because of his monstrous form. Except nothing really comes out of it, apart from a few scenes where Arc dines alone to avoid revealing himself. There's no distrust from his allies, no attempts to find his secret, nothing. You know what they should've done? Take off the guy's helmet. Have him be the way he is depicted in the OP. Drop the whole "I need to be inconspicuous" gimmick. It wouldn't necessarily make this show good, but at least the hero _would_ stand out from other cookie-cutter isekai protagonists. Aside from the gimmick, the series otherwise checks every bad isekai cliche. An overpowered protagonist, whose sheer might kills all dramatic tension? Check. Half the dialogue being big-breasted girls marveling at how OP the protagonist is? Check. Villains whose entire personality can be summed up as "Mwahaha! I have no redeeming qualities! I'm gonna rape this child now to make the audience hate me. Huh? Who the hell are you?! (dies instantly, audience cheers)" -- check. The humor is terrible, and comes at very tone-deaf moments. Ah yes, an extended almost-rape scene (complete with the terrified victim peeing her pants on-screen) is the perfect moment to have the hero casually muse on whether he should save her or not (was that supposed to be funny?). Ah yes, when our heroes are trying to save children being sexually molested in the basement, it's the perfect moment for a joke about how the elf can't fit through a window because of her breasts (complete with silly big booba noises). In summary, even as cliche isekais go, this one is particularly awful. It might have been more memorable if the writers didn't go out of their way to make the hero as boring as possible.

I was thinking "I want to binge a random 12 episode anime tonight" and I ended up liking this one. This anime looked like Overlord but a with very good guy protagonist, but it did end up feeling a lot different watching Arc instead of Ainz, enough for me to not even think about the similarities after the first few minutes. The anime is enjoyable, interesting, fun and entertaining, though I'm sure it would be weird to watch if you recently watched Overlord. They use CGI pretty well in this anime, so I had no animation or visual complaints at ALL. There's a lot of slave imagery throughout the season, but nothing too disturbing ever actually happens on screen, though if anything did happen, I'm used to Goblin Slayer anyway. Arc is overpowered, but full of holes without experience, so it isn't too boring from that perspective. 9/10 anime, a nice short watch, and I'd gladly watch a season 2. Honestly, best CGI usage I've possibly ever seen in an anime.

Why is it all the "not recommended" are always people who've watched exactly 3 episodes of a show? Everyone seems to be saying "it's overlord but cheap". It's nothing like overlord. Unless you are saying every show with "protagonist of X age/race/gender swings sword" are all "Orphan" or something. The only similarities are isekai, medieval fantasy, skeletal body, in armour swinging sword. The world building, plot, characters, general story, totally different. Okay, the summary review: This is a bit of a mixed bag on tone, it doesn't shy away from the fact people can be a-holes and monsters, but it also has a generally more upbeat and positive tone about the potential of the world at large. People who aren't rained in by their own morals, tend not to be rained in by their own morals. Heroic figures tend to be heroic, the MC doesn't have dark plans for world conquest, and just wants to live a quiet life adventuring for cash to live. Of course he's an over the top OP MC who has to stick his nose into anything he can solve, so that's not going to happen. The cast of characters is kept moderately tight, though allusions to standard world politics are of course made. The MC is generally likeable middle 20s to 30s gamer type, who geeks out on the "fantasy" element, but isn't all dark and broody, andis more just living a life enjoying the fantastical elements of the world he's found himself in. He's OP as hell but that's played pretty well. His personal development, as well as growth and world view shifts of those around him are moderately straight forward but scripted well enough. The short fuzzy cute mascot is short, fuzzy and cute. It's never going to be a "top of the line" anime, but if you're not going in expecting Overlord, and aren't put off by the "penitential for something horrible to happen" (but is rescued from) scene it opens with, you'll probably enjoy it. The show doesn't shy away from peoples dark elements, but unlike overlord and some others, doesn't roll around in it either. I give this show a pretty solid 7/10. Not a "must see", but a "you don't have to avoid it either, and will probably enjoy.

For some reason i have been torturing myself to watch every isekai made in the past eight years and this one is actually one of the best ones I have seen. The animation quality is actually great, theres no awful CG, the main character is very like-able and his OP-ness is actually used in a great way. The world building is great and maybe its just me but brings me back to when I played Runescape as a kid. I will address a common complaint being, rape (there is actually none). It isnt egregious, but the way some people talk about it, you would think its as bad as Goblin Slayer's first episode or worse yet Redo of Healer. Most of the sexual assault is cut short by the heroes before anything actually happens and theres no nudity. Also whoever heard of bad guys doing bad things? The show is actually pretty wholesome in my opinion (cute animals, happy people and good food). Bonus points if you are tired of lolicon garbo, all possible love interests are adults and the show doesnt revolve around teenagers! Wow, what a fresh breath of air! Really hoping for a second season!

Skeleton Knight in Another World is another inclusion in what ended up being one of the strongest anime seasons to date. In my view, it stands on its own as being another very strong entry, despite having some of the cringiest fan-service moments I've ever seen. Story: Skeleton Knight in Another World centres around a gamer who wakes up in an MMO world, and soon realizes he has all his powers that he had when he was gaming. He clearly has gaps in his memory, so he decides the first thing he needs to do is secure funds, in order to provide himself with basic necessities. He recalls his in-game name to be Arc, and decides to take on simple mercenary tasks, since he's able to fell opponents with relative ease. Eventually, he stumbles upon something this MMO world seems to have issues with - deep, long issues with discrimination against the non-human races. They're all deemed to be inferior to humans, and are often taken as slaves, and sold for cash. Arc eventually helps a headstrong Elf warrior in her own right, Ariane, who hires him to see through her journey to free the all elves from slavery. The story sees us go from place to place, as we watch as Arc kills fearsome foe after foe, in order to save the lives of those unfortunate enough to be captured. The beginning couple of episodes are your usual MMO-fodder, where we learn a bit about the world and our main character, and see what he's made of - without the 'starting from square one' bit. Getting past this hurdle likely jump starts this series on the right foot, though not without some growing pains in between. There is probably some of the worst use of fan-service that I've seen in quite some time here. It's used to make a point about the world we view, but it doesn't fit at all, especially when you consider that much of the first half isn't even all that dark to begin with. It simply doesn't work - thank God they keep that stuff to a minimum after the first bit. After that, the series zones into the issue with the elven race, and it's a a solid story. This series flows at a very nice pace, not sitting still for very long. I admire the urgency that our characters keep, as they quickly look for answers to the missing elven people. There are moments when you almost wish they didn't brute force everything, and it does feel like that happens a couple times more than necessary. Arc and Ariane are still smart in how they approach the situations given to them at times, and these moments are much better than certain others that involves seemingly little strategy at all. This series touches on a secondary storyline midway through this series, but doesn't really refer to it until the end. This gives us an idea on where the story will go, as this season covers much of the elven arc quite nicely. It was a nice stopping point, as it does feel like this tale does cover quite a bit of the world that Arc awakens in. (8/10) Characters: Arc is obviously our main guy, and he's completely overpowered for this world. He never really stumbled upon a situation that he can't solve, at least strength wise, and it means that we need obstacles that cannot be brute forced through, present. Some do arise, which I appreciated. One odd thing about this world is that it does seem to have certain spell categories, with each spell usually only usable by certain classes. Arc, somehow, has a wide range of these, and I would have liked to see why. That being said, he's a fun character to watch - strong when it matters, smart when he needs to be, and hilarious otherwise. Ariane is a very strong dark elf, wielding a sizable sword and fearsome fire magic. She hires Arc early on, and offers Arc something else in return, which he accepts. What that is, we find out shortly after, but you do get the sense that the elves have a few secrets of their own - something we don't get to see a ton of, despite seeing one of their villages. Speaking of which, it's absolutely hilarious to me that they made a Canadian reference for her village name. Ariane is a fine character, but works really well in this series in conjunction with Arc. She keeps him in line when he gets a little goofy, and clearly appreciates what he is. Ponta is a spirit animal that Arc rescues early on, mainly known for only approaching gentle humans that they trust. She's basically the symbol of good in Arc, but doesn't add much otherwise. Side characters, I thought, were a little weak at times. Chiyome and a handful of her clan join Arc and Ariane in a mission part way through the series, and there simply wasn't enough there for me to be terribly interested in those episodes. It does feel like we're watching the same thing again, though with a weaker cast for that part of the series. Chiyome is fine, but nothing really shines with her. The Rhoden family rule over the land that our heroes travel around, and there's also nothing terribly spectacular about them either. The story around the family has some interesting turns, but it's nothing terribly special. The villains along the way are mostly fine, with some having better motivations than others, but even the last villain left me ever so slightly disappointed. (7/10) Art: I was actually a pretty big fan in the animation that this series used. The basic animation held up very well. There was a pretty heavy emphasis on CGI used here, and I actually didn't mind when it was used at all. It was never distracting, and the movements in those scenes didn't look too off of the natural animation used, which is pretty rare these days. I loved the animations that were used for the spells as well. Each cast had the Japanese letters on screen in a fancy way, similar to Seven Deadly Sins, and it's so much fun to watch Arc use all of them. (9/10) Sound: This series sounded fine throughout, with some strong tracks mixed in along the way. The OP kind of reinforces the goofball that Arc is, while the ending is another fun tune, though that one feels a little misplaced based on the animation used. The voice cast were very strong here, headed up by Brandon Johnson (Arc), who I've never heard before. He's equally strong in Arc's fun and serious moments alike, a perfect casting here. Caitlin Glass (Ariane), a VO whose been around forever, also puts in strong work here. Clifford Chapin (Domitianus) seems like an odd casting for his role, based on his history of voice work, but he seems like a minor character for now. (8/10) Overall Enjoyment: Skeleton Knight in Another World was a very strong entry in the ever-growing MMO genre, one I'm glad I decided to check out past the slightly weak start. Arc and Ariane are fantastic characters to watch in action, and I'm curious is this series gained enough of an audience to garner a sequel. They just need to keep the fan service out of it, as it feels horribly misplaced. Still, the flashy action sequences and strong story create a very strong start to this series. (8/10)

I am writing this review because of all the reviews hating on it. THIS SHOW IS NOT A BAD SHOW. Now, is it an amazing one that will change your life after watching? No, but so what? It is a show purely for FUN. If you want to watch a show that has isekai, fantasy, comedy, action, superpowers elements in it, and just ENJOY IT, then I highly recommend this show. I finished it without a stop after starting and it has made my day. It was just full of fun. The main character's personality might be seen as uninteresting or shallow by some people and I do understand where that point would come from but I think the reason this show was so easy to just lay back and watch to just enjoy without thinking too much was thanks to the way the main character was. The only time I was worried about at some point was when they brought some *nasty scenes*, like sexual assault on female characters and that kind of stuff but honestly the show managed to not go too deep into it and just leave it as just another bad situation that the main character solves eventually. So all I can say without spoilers is, don't worry about anything, and if you can just watch this show to enjoy a fun isekai anime, you shouldn't be disappointed. The people giving this 2/10 and going all their way to write a review just to explain why this show has to suck and we all have to think it sucks as well just like them, are probably the type of people wanting a masterpiece out of every anime and deeming anything else as trash. ALSO SHOUT OUT TO MY BOY PELLEK FOR THE OPENING SONG! PROUD!!! Therefore this show is a 8/10 for me, and the 7.2/10 that it has as of me writing this review also sounds reasonable if we were to take a large pool of votes into consideration.

Yeah no, “Skeleton Knight In Another World” is something I am not a fan of. From the first second to the last one, women are heavily sexualised like it’s normal. Yet the main character, Arc, is against it. Saving women from these things makes you normal? Also every women portrayed, fits those as the anime describes “whores”. For me, this is a disgusting topic which I’m moving on from quickly. The story is your general isekai which we get at least 10 times every season. Can we get something different? No I’m fine with the isekais, I just want a fucking new storyline FOR ONCE. How the fuck does this make sense in your head. You wake up in a video game, no you’re not worried. Who cares if you never get out. There’s no questions either. What happens if my real body dies? What if somebody finds me? The only answer to this as to why they don’t care, is if they are a discord mod in their cousin’s step-sister’s basement being a no life which explains why they aren’t worried at all. Now imagine, the basement is filled with beer, every corner and inch. Ah, don’t forget about the boxes filled with wedding dresses and memories discarded from the affairs your cousin’s step-sister had. All those divorces really shook her up didn’t they? Now she works eight jobs a day to provide for you and her eight kids. Stop being a low life. Now back to the point before I get side tracked, imagine one day, you a forty year old grab a good beer and snap it open and lay back to get gaming in “Arc”. Oops, the beer spilt everywhere including your very very expensive gaming pc. Ugh, now that shits fried. You let out some weird curse word you learnt from your cousin’s step-sister’s fifth child whose age is 8. Whatever, like a dumbass you get rice that you stole from the neighbour’s cat’s litter box and dump ur pc on top of it. Whatever, you log onto “Arc” and hop in. The games different as, whatever. You get some cool ass outfit options yet you pick the runt skeleton as your avatar. Who knows what you were thinking. Anyway everything is bad. I feel like I’ve summed it up enough.
