Skeleton Knight in Another World

Isekai is one of the genres that don’t really suit me. There are some supposedly great ones like Angel Beats or No Game No Life that I actually don’t like. And Skeleton Knight in Another World certainly is not the anime that will get me like Isekai. The animation was not the issue here. I actually think the anime looked pretty solid. It was kinda fun watching all the explosions and fights, which are the only thing that kept me from losing attention. My biggest problems are the characters and story. Both components are so bland and boring. Each character is the too straightforward with almost no development. The main warrior is just too darn overpowered, making him even more boring than the rest. I had some interest in the group’s journey where they fought monsters. Besides that the story with the different kingdoms is again boring. It didn’t have that much screen time, and I don’t think they would be much of troubles against the main characters. Overall, it’s just not for me. 6-6.5/10

Isekai is one of those genres that is very hit-or-miss for me. It's an easy cheat code that appeals to people who enjoy power fantasies, an OP main character, and big dumb attacks. Typically this comes at the cost of low stakes and a boring presentation. For those who enjoy that, I am happy to inform you that Skeleton Knight is literally the most generic, vanilla application of that formula. It's so generic that it feels like the equivalent of if you put every isekai into a giant pot and stirred it together for a few hours. The Good: Arc. I enjoyed the MC more than I expected. Something about the MC waking up in an isekai and glazing over it and going "cool let's go do adventure!" was kind of cute in a way. He's a goofy character and I enjoyed his personality especially when a lot of leads in anime tend to be pretty vapid for self-insertion by the viewer. Shenanigans. I feel like the best parts of this anime are the MC goofing around in town and doing side quests. The filler of the anime is better than the actual plot. The Bad: Over-reliance on "edgey" content. In stark contrast to our goofy MC, the world he was isekai'd into is fairly dark in regards to slavery, racism and death. This sometimes plays well to Arc's strengths, but once you've seen a girl almost get molested for the third time you're kind of like "really?". Villains are the typical sadistic freaks who exist to kick a puppy and eat a baby only for the MC to embarrass them completely. This is another anime that utilizes CG models during action scenes and oh boy do you notice it when it happens. Since Arc, the MC, is in a full body suit of armor I really don't have too much issue with them using it on him since it's probably difficult to animate and there are no facial animations so it's not jarring, but they also utilize the CG on other characters who are just normal people. Arianne, the female lead, is the biggest offender of this. Her CG model is extremely noticeable and poorly done to the point that it would drag me out of the immersion any time I saw her. It feels extremely cheap. Overall, this anime is okay. I definitely don't hate it, but it's also going to be an anime I probably forget about immediately down the line. It doesn't particularly do anything great, but nothing it does is particularly offensive. It's a fun watch if you've got nothing, but there are better Isekai out there, and better ways to spend your free time.

Listen, "Skeleton Knight in Another World" isn't a bad anime, but it falls into the pile of all transported into another world animes. Basically, it's the guy who has almost full control of his overpowered moves and is way too strong to have a real challenge. The only real difference there is that the main character is a skeleton. It reminds me of Overlord in a couple of ways (mainly cause the main character is a skeleton), but it lacks what made Overlord so great. Also, why are there so many scenes featuring sexual assault or attempted rape? I get it if they throw a scene in once, but almost all the time a girl is getting attacked and her clothes are gone. Anyway, to the actual review. ~Story~ Basically, your average gamer is transported into another world in which he takes the looks, powers, and strengths of a character in one of his games. Of course, he doesn't know anything about the world he is in and has to figure things out as time goes on. That's all I'm writing for this cause you can almost paste any other isekai description here. ~Art~ Listen, this anime has some amazing scenes which are animated amazingly. However, then you get scene after scene of the characters being 3D next to a 2D character which makes them stick out. Now I understand completely that making an anime isn't easy and 3D animation is used to save money, but when it goes from a really well-animated scene to a 3D character looking very out of place in a scene, it's hard to ignore. ~Characters~ I mean, I can't say much. Your main character is oblivious and trying to find his way in the world while being as dense as a rock. And the other main character you see is cold to the main character till they settle their differences, which they slowly fall in love with the main character. To be honest, I only remember two characters, Arc and Ponta. ~Overall~ To be honest, it kept me coming back each week to watch it. Is it the best anime you could watch? Definitely not. But if you wanna see a different take on an isekai anime, I'd give it a watch. ~Nate

I didn't know Ainz had a doppelganger in another world. Certainly, it wasn't mentioned he had reincarnated in a different universe. Introducing Skeleton Knight in Another World and our MC Arc who reincarnates in his game fantasy world and has his OP skills and set. Everything he touches goes Ka-Boom in an instant. Story 8/10: A very good adaptation of the light novel. There was a lot of change but you can enjoy the anime. The story was fast-paced but it wasn't a bother to me. Characters 8/10:Arc is my personal fav. He is a little different from other Isekai protagonists. Normally you would begin to question why and how i reincarnated into a fantasy world but not Arc. He just plays along and acts as if nothing happened. Arc's personality is just full of energy and his laugh is just amusing. Ah and let's not forget our cute elf Arianne. She added more purpose to watching the anime and she had her moments to shine in the spotlight. Chiyome is great and Ponta is just too adorable. Sound 8/10: The Opening is just too good. I love it and I keep humming it every second. Skeleton Knight in Another world is your typical generic isekai anime but it has good elements and very strong storytelling. It has a decent art style and color. Ainz should be on the lookout because Arc is coming and it would be a battle to look forward to in the future if guranteed.

Story is a 7 Art/Animation is a 4 Sound is a 8 Character is a 6 Enjoyment is a 7 and overall a 6.3 ish in general if you average those scores out. Story is fine, it's just a isekai of someone who got summoned as their game character which has a skeleton avatar. He's overpowered compared to most people, so the story is him usually curb stomping most conflicts. Which is eh usually since the current story elements are cliche, as in cliche EVIL! villains who have backstories and motives you've seen a 1000 times over. The animation is the worst part, they had a small budget and it shows if you pay the slightest attention. They try using 3D whenever they possibly gain to skimp on having to draw 2D, and Arc, the MC, is almost always in 3D unless he's standing still. Even the OP has instances of 3D used throughout, and overall is really grating. The fight scenes aren't really that impressive either. Don't expect anything remotely close to OPM quality. It does its job, and that's it. Sound is the best part for me. The OP is a solid banger, and I highly recommend you look it up on youtube. The best part of this anime without a doubt. The rest of the sound design is fine and I never heard anything that felt off. Character is eh, most of the villains are trashy cliches that are evil for the sake of it and nothing really new is done there outside of maybe 1 instance in the anime. The main characters are likeable, although some would say the MC is too whimsical. Don't come in expecting a MC that's serious. He just coasts. His party is also fine, but personalities that aren't really unique. They don't feel 2D, but you have seem their types before. Enjoyment is a 7, maybe a 6.5. I read a bit of this web novel years back, and I remember it being better, but I only got a bit into it before I started reading other things. But considering isekai anime track records, I can probably make a safe assumption that this adaptation, like other light novel adaptions, probably butchered the source material it got this from. In conclusion, if you don't really like isekai, pass on this entirely. If you like isekai, you are almost guarenteed to have a better experience just reading the source material. Go do that instead. Overall score is a 6.

Along the lines of your generic isekai to fill in the season with. It has decent comedy to go with the characters personalities and the mc who as you'd expect being extremely op so he's not really got to work for anything and his motive is pretty much being a knight and helping solve immoral crimes committed by high up people in the world. Although his familiar is cute. I wouldn't go out of my way to watch it unless I had already watched all of the most anticipated anime coming out this season, though the art style is nice with the added bits of cgi which I know isn't to everyones taste but for the most part it didn't bother me too much.

RULES OF NATURE (if you get it, you a homie, if you don'tn that's fine) Ok so skeleton knight was my isekai trash of this season (I didn't watch much this time), and if I can sum it up in one word, mid. I really don't usually enjoy op mc animes, but some I can make exceptions. Anyway, (imo) the main purpose of an op mc is enjoyment, the satisfaction of seeing the mc whoop the villains asses is glorious at times, but generally, boring, this is one of those cases. I also don't like "dark" animes, this anime seems to have ventured into some dark themes, but all it adds is shock factor and later more satisfaction when mc brings justice of some shit. Some things I can say that make this anime watchable is the action (sometimes), random isekai stuff, maybe the world building and its size, and boobs. So, the story is very basic and mid, your classic isekai with an op mc saving some people and learning abut the world. He meets people and helps his new friend to free the elves, because that's the mains problem in this show. That's basically the plot, missing some other stuff with ninjas, but that's what's bad, it evolves from elf trafficking to corrupt country stuff. And the worse part is, that they could've shown the sheer scale of this trafficing thing, but no, only introduce it at the start of the episode, where most likely, the conflict will end (thanks op mc). That is most of my opinion on the story. The characters aren't any better, Arc (mc) is only an op guy, with a sense of justice, and revolves around being fascinated by the fantasy world. Ariane, is the elf who shows him the world and blah blah blah. Who is angry about elf and human problems, and her whole character is her hate for humans and disbelief in the idea of peace. So, the logical choice would be to let Arc show her the goodness of humans, but NOPE, Arc is a skeleton (did I mention that), so he's different and more excuses that Ariane uses to justify her hate even more. Than there's the ninjas, who are just so poorly executed. So, they are mysterious and appear in the middle of battle, maybe they (ninjas and mc) share a common goal, maybe they're opposing our heroes, but nah, they just disappear and reappear later. Main ninja joins later for missions, because.....convenience, the writers didn't know how to write her as a part of the main cast, idk. Anyway that's the most I can do without spoilers. Other aspects of the show like the sound, was pretty good, it felt fantasy-like, though it's just "basic fantasy bgm", but yeah, one of the bgm I actually remember. The art is, ehhh, it's good at times, but sometimes the cg is just not good, it still works though. The comedy, *sigh* the comedy is your generic "omg mc is strong", girls being angry/cute and shit like that, and Ponta (the pet) doing random stuff. So in defense of this show, it works, the action, story, and character development is pretty balanced (doesn't mean it's good though). The world building is pretty decent, as the actions can lead to bigger stuff, so that was good ig. Oh yeah the fanservice. Also any show that I finish is an instant 6, as long as it doesn't bore me, it reached the 6 mark for me. Still though, imagine how much better this show would be if they actually explored the skeleton part in skeleton knight. Like maybe made him get caught doing stuff and him having to prove himself as a respectable person in society. However, the path they took, no interaction with other people, mostly travel and killing. So, failed opportunity imo. So, should you watch this show, maybe, if you like isekai fantasy stuff and maybe "dark" themes idk, watch the first few episodes, they really give a feel for the show. Trust me the formula doesn't change, the scale just gets bigger. Decent show.

In short, if you have ever played an RPG and imagined yourself being transported into that world as your overpowered character, Skeleton Knight in Another World might scratch that itch. Beyond that, however, it is mostly another familiar isekai. The anime has almost everything you would expect from the genre: an overpowered protagonist, a beautiful companion, comedy, fantasy races, villains, adventuring, and a very loose objective. Instead of feeling like a story constantly moving toward an important goal, it often feels more like “just enjoy the adventure.” One important warning: the anime contains sexual assault scenes, particularly early on. If that kind of content is a trigger for you, this may be better avoided. Art: 5/10 The visuals are fairly average. Arc himself is an interesting case because the production makes noticeable use of CG for his complex armor and design. There are moments where this works reasonably well, but there are also scenes where the CG becomes distracting and hurts the visual experience. Outside of the main female character, whose design is genuinely attractive, most of the anime looks fairly ordinary. Even during the few battles the series has, I often felt that the animation lacked impact. Hits do not always feel powerful, and the fights rarely have the visual energy I would expect from an action-oriented isekai. Story: 6/10 The story is extremely average. At least during this season, there is no particularly strong overarching narrative. Most events feel superficial and familiar, and Arc's motivation is basically to accept his situation and enjoy living in this new world. The battles are also rarely complicated. Arc is extremely powerful, so many conflicts are resolved almost instantly. For an isekai with a lot of combat elements, that makes the action surprisingly weak. There are some larger plotlines happening in the background, but the season itself feels much more focused on the journey than on reaching a meaningful destination. Characters: 4/10 This is probably the weakest part of the anime. Arc can be funny, and his personality makes him somewhat likable, but the cast feels like a mixture of character types borrowed from several other isekai series. There is very little meaningful character development. Arc is heroic mostly because he repeatedly encounters terrible people and decides to help their victims. The supporting cast gets some attempts at backstory and development, but everything remains extremely shallow. The characters are functional, but very few of them feel memorable. Enjoyment: 7/10 Despite how average everything is, the anime can actually be pretty fun. There are entertaining moments, the protagonist is easy to like, and the series works reasonably well if you are looking for something light that does not require much attention. You probably should not expect a serious story, complicated combat, or deep characters. But as a simple fantasy adventure with an overpowered skeleton knight and an attractive elf companion, it can be enjoyable. Overall: 6/10 Skeleton Knight in Another World is perfectly watchable, but not particularly memorable. I cannot deny that I occasionally felt sleepy while watching it, and by the end I almost forgot that I still had the final episode left to watch. That probably says quite a lot about how invested I was. Still, if you simply want a relaxed isekai adventure with an overpowered protagonist, comedy, fantasy creatures, and a nice-looking elf companion, you may have a good time. Just do not expect anything especially original or deep. And again, if depictions of sexual assault are particularly upsetting or triggering for you, I would recommend approaching this anime with caution.

Though this gets compared to Overlord, I can't for the life of me figure out why other than the MC being a skeleton in his new body. He is overpowered, but also doesn't have a clue about how the game he plays works such as guilds and other races relationship with one another. He's doesn't have some crazy goal of conquering all the nations in an especially evil manner. It's better to think of his character as a paladin knight that happens to have a skeleton avatar instead of an lich King or undead sorcerer. He mostly just wants to quest for gold and riches but gets swept up in a political conflict between race nations because of his good nature. I found it to be a good watch and the world building interesting. There is one thing I'm not a fan of and it's attempted rape that only happens in two early episodes but thankfully doesn't become recurring afterwards. If you're looking for an Overlord clone, look elsewhere, but if you want an isekai from a good natured player with world building and a group of interesting races coming together to unify rather than separate their nations, this is the one for you.

TL;DR This is comfort food isekai. Everything about the synopsis screams generic Isekai and yet it's one of the shows that just ended up shining through. Likable lead, one strong heroine carrying a lot of the emotional weight, fun dumb power fantasy energy. It's not gonna convert anyone who already hates this genre and I don't think it should have to, but if you're already into the Overlord-adjacent power fantasy stuff and you can tolerate (or fast forward through) the rougher moments like in EP 1, there's a genuinely sweet, fun show buried in here. Sasuga Momon-san... No, Skelebro! First off let's talk about the skeleton in the clos- I mean the Overlord thing first because there is no way around it. Skeleton guy, absurdly OP, hides his face, gets mistaken for something way scarier than he is, ends up doing good stuff basically by accident. The DNA is right there and I get why people apparently turned into "this is Overlord" vs "no it's not, hear me out". Having now seen the whole thing though, I actually don't think it's a ripoff so much as it's borrowing a silhouette and putting a completely different guy inside it. Ainz is scary because you never know what he's actually thinking, even posing as the adventurer Momon-san he's still scary and a fully calculated/cautious guy forced by his own circumstances. Our Arc on the other hand is the exact opposite of that. He's a sweet dude who's mortified that he looks terrifying and mostly wants to buy street food and help people out along the way. There's no scheming, no ambiguity, none of that Overlord chess-master energy (though in Ainz defense he got that whole instant recovery stuff everytime he got overly emotional to keep his emotion in check so yeah that will mess me anyone too in the long run). It's a much softer, much more earnest show wearing a very similar skull. So yeah I get the comparison, I also get why it kind of misses the point a little. Speaking of which I couldn't help but mention our female lead, Ariane, and how she is so obviously the best thing about this show and I don't think that's even a hot take, I think that's just what everyone agreed on the entire time it aired. The dark elf swordswoman ends up being the actual emotional centre of the whole thing, she's got this slowly warming up thing going with Arc, and she's just consistently the most competent, most dignified character in the cast even when the show around her isn't always extending her the same dignity, I can honestly say she's one of the stronger heroine I've ever seen in any Isekai. Her and Arc's very slow, very not-officially-a-couple-yet dynamic is genuinely what kept me coming back more than the plot did. As for animation-wise it looked fine early on, dipped noticeably somewhere in the middle stretch, and picked back up a bit for the finale. nothing that ruined the show for me and guess what? This show did a pretty good job at alternating between the 2D and 3D models pretty frequently, especially for walking or motion scenes, and I never found it too distracting. Let's just say I'm invested enough in our Skelebro Arc that I'm 100% checking out season 2 whenever that drops. Final rating is 7.0/10

Well.... It had some potential, that much i can give this show credit for... But that was about it. Not only is it generic .... But it's also a carrier of the "OP never lose MC" trope. Honestly there isn't something i dislike more..... This trope removes any sort of tension you'd feel in any supposed dangerous situation presented in the show. Generic isekai's can be forgiven . Boring predictable plots cannot. It was all about releasing slaves and all.... The obssesive focus on that topic ... made the whole story stale . Also, i really wish they'd use that R-17 rating for some actual fanservice rather then use it only for the sensitive topics. And another issue i'd have is they used the elves out of all the fantastical species ... When the only difference between them and humans are the pointy ears. The god damn reincarnated as a pig anime handled this sorta topic better for gods sake. A dissapointing journey . That's what this anime feels like. Or like a game that attracts you with fancy art on the surface, but once you install and play the game it's a snoozefest . I guess i could still recommend it if you got no other anime to watch,otherwise... Just don't bother.

Yet another isekai anime with little twist to make it feel new concept. Personally I like isekai and reincarnation genre so i dont mind. In anime we follow story of Arc who is reincarnated into game world as his game Avatar. As far as protagonist go arc is very laid back and kind person. He is always up for learning something new about the world he is put in and also makes an efferts to understand other people. And yes i almost forgot to mention but he is skeleton which has big white armour. And he is very OP. Other main lead is spirit animal called Ponta. Which only trusts people with good intentions. Female lead is Ariane, an elf warrior lady who is on quest to free her brotherin from cluches of Humans who captures other beast races and sell them as slaves. The journey of arc and ariane and how they get close to each other is nice to see(nothing ground breaking ). World building : very little info is given about the world as we are learning it along with Arc. It would have been nice if they gave atleast some info. Story: The story isn’t anything new or groundbreaking. It’s your typical isekai trope, at least for the portion of the light novel that’s adapted. The plot mainly revolves around Arc saving beast people from human nobles. What makes it work is the characters—they’re really enjoyable. The story does get a bit serious when it touches on how humans are mistreating non-human races, which adds some depth. Animation: animation is top notch. Fluid motions and overall very awesome to look at. Music: OST's as well as both op and ed are good. Enjoyable to listen to but i doubt anyone will remember it. All and all this anime is very enjoyable, energetic, warm which doesn't exceeds in any perticular category except Animation. watch when you are eating something and don't want bother with heavy story based stuff like Attack on Titan, MHA etc. I have rewatched it atleat 2-3 times. So thats saying something. I recommend this anime to those who want something laid back. Give it a go just don't expect anything ground breaking or new. I give it solid 7.5/10 hope it gets second season soon.

I loved the light-hearted and spontaneous nature of this anime. It wasn't very complicated or completly original but it was easy to watch. Yes the main character is OP but he wasn't a scheming arrogant douche. His reasons for holding back make sense. The battles aren't long winded and over-dramatized. The cliches were kept to a minimum. No exessively cute and numerous girls, and no pompous royalty and discrimination. andi don't think there is too much else that needs to be said but the stupid website wants me to writing a freaking article about this but i don't know why and find it to be completley unnecessary.

Just watched this, I am giving it a 6/10. The first episode was amazing, a 100/10. After that it kind of became repetitive and boring to watch. Arc is a great MC and I love the way he addresses the audience. The characters were good but nothing super special, no one really stood out to me, even Arc. Although shoutout Carcy, even though he was barely on the screen he was cool as hell. I do love the fantasy setting and I must add there were some very good sound effects. Ending was good, ended exactly how I wanted it to. Probably wouldn't rewatch but I would recommend. It is a good isekai, and I feel happy with the 12 episodes, didn't feel it needed anymore.

Skeleton Knight in Another World is a heartfelt and emotional anime that left me completely invested in the characters and their journey. This show deserves a perfect 10/10 rating for its ability to evoke such powerful emotions in its viewers. The story follows Arc, a young man who is mysteriously transported to another world as a skeleton knight. He meets a young girl named Arianna, who becomes his companion and guide as he navigates this new world. Together, they embark on a journey that is both heartwarming and heart-wrenching. The character development in this anime is outstanding, with each character undergoing their own personal journey and transformation. Arc is a complex and multifaceted protagonist, struggling with his own identity and purpose as a skeleton knight. Arianna is a beacon of hope and kindness, providing a sense of warmth and comfort in an otherwise harsh and unforgiving world. The emotional depth of this anime is what truly sets it apart. The themes of loss, trauma, and redemption are expertly woven into the storyline, making for a truly poignant and powerful viewing experience. The emotional moments are handled with care and sensitivity, leaving a lasting impact on the viewer. The animation in Skeleton Knight in Another World is also exceptional, with stunningly detailed landscapes and expertly choreographed fight scenes that enhance the emotional impact of the story. The soundtrack is also outstanding, perfectly capturing the mood of each scene and adding to the emotional resonance of the anime. Overall, Skeleton Knight in Another World is a truly exceptional anime that left me emotionally invested in the characters and their journey. With its outstanding character development, emotional depth, and stunning animation, it is a must-watch for any fan of the isekai genre.

This show has A LOT to be desired, it's a children's show more the anything, even a cartoon for 12 year old's has more plot then this show. My biggest problem is that everything goes right, no one has to make any difficult decisions, everything just plays out perfectly, no one dies or anything, the lack of plot is insane, not a single episode made me look forward to the next one, it was just a stream of happy go lucky bs more then anything. It genuinely felt like a children's show at times, the interactions between characters were like something from a western cartoon, just straight up lacking emotion, completely feeling scripted, but even though the interactions were the most family friendly thing possible, the amount of limbs being cut off and people getting cut in half was just enough apparently. The main character was way too overpowered for his own good, it didn't help make the show any better, after the 1st few episodes the question of ''how tf did I end up here'' just disappeared, and the lack of interest in what was going on or what the mysterious isekai world had to offer was just sad. It had an interesting main character design, a skeleton, which if executed properly can be an amazing mc with comedic interactions all over the place, but they didn't even attempt that. Plot wise there were the lower tier villain's and the shot callers, which could have been made into a whole thing where the mc has to defeat them all in order to save the world, and the difficulty scale would rise when he made his way to the main villain, but that's irrelevant because the mc is op af, and even though he can one shot pretty much anything, he is not in the slightest involved in what's going on outside his little adventure seeking journey. Overall, the show had potential in many aspects, but it shot itself in the leg in every aspect possible.

Another isekai power trip? While "Gaikotsu Kishi-sama, Tadaima Isekai e Odekakechuu" is not a masterpiece by any means, it has certainly exceeded my expectations. Yes, it is firmly positioned in the trash heap which forms the body of the genre. We all are way too familiar with its sins: careless worldbuilding, paper-thin characters, porn level logic, debilitating edginess and overall bad taste - there really is no need to cover them in detail. And this series is not a world of difference from the norm. However, I think it stands above most of its peers, many of them much better known, in quality writing. First of all, it has an actual plot. Not pretextual, or meant solely to emphasize the main character's qualities; a real one. The events are propelled by characters' actions and reasonably well grounded in the setting, and the characters themselves seem capable of human-level intelligence. Much of the genre cares not about such trivialities; things usually happen out of the blue, often contrary to logic, simply because they are needed for the main character to shine or obtain some sort of reward (often in the form of female affection). But here, the authors actually went to the trouble of writing a coherent story, which makes this anime feel like an actual fantasy adventure and not a fever dream of some incel. The setting itself lends to that: while it is certainly generic, it sticks to a certain standard of quality, which is to not actively cause viewers' brain cells to commit suicide. The political intrigue actually makes sense and carries a certain suspense; while not exactly byzantine, it seems rock solid in its execution when compared against what we are usually subjected to in similar titles. Secondly, the characters. Again, "generic" is a word that immediately comes to mind. However, there's a difference between a cliche character and a cardboard character, and thankfully, these tend to fall to the former category rather than the latter. They may not be very original, but they mostly seem like living people rather that props, which is not something we can say about power fantasy isekai often enough. The main character is a genuine nice guy (by his actions, not by creators' insistence) and not a carbon copy of another MC (yeah, certainly not lord Ainz). Ariane is a rather typical cross between Arthuria "Saber" Pendragon and Raphtalia, with more determination than brains, but is consistent about her personality and not a bloody idiot who needs to be managed like a pet. Chiyome is a stereotypical ninja assassin catgirl, but without becoming either an asshole or a moe blob, and she can hold an actual conversation like a civilized person. Most other allied and neutral characters are also equipped which some basic depth, which makes the big difference between a character, however trivial, and a mere plot device. Villains are the weakest point, but even they seem to have some basic motivation for doing what they do, which is far from certain in the realm of crappy isekai. Character designs are mostly pleasant to the eye. Arc's armour is intricate and flashy, but not outrageous, and actually nice to look at. On the other hand, Ariane's outfit exists primarily to emphasize her gag boobs, which makes it hard to focus on anything else about her looks (yeah, they're that absurdly big, at least compared to other characters). Other characters mostly fall somewhere in between, with the normal range of beautiful youngsters, ugly bastards and unremarkable villagers. However, my favourite part are locations: the elven capital actually impressed me with its sophisticated yet coherent and actually simple design. Battle scenes are rather cheap, but done competently with what the animators had. Voice acting is, uh, standard. Music exists. Apparently most good points of this anime can be summarized as "not as bad as the competition", which sounds like a terrible recommendation. However, it makes a big difference: the series is actually watchable without causing psychosomatic symptoms like sudden urges to claw one's eyes out, and I'd say it is a huge improvement. It's simply a solid, average series: not something you would show to promote anime in general, but it works well enough if you're looking for some harmless fantasy entertainment. Or as some would say, it's trash, but trash with standards when it comes to production quality. I'll give it a tentative 7/10, since I actually had fun watching it and wouldn't mind seeing more of it.

Skeleton Knight In Another World is an unapologetically generic isekai but I can't help but keep watching. The story is very simple and can be very slow-paced and boring at the beginning, though it does pick up near the end. It feels as if they are just repeating the same plot point of 'saving the captured elves' throughout the entire show which can be very grating. Also, the use of sexual assault very frequently got pretty uncomfortable. I know every single isekai needs to have a sexual assault scene at some point (still not quite sure why this has become a cliche of the genre) but this just had it for nearly every single conflict. I guess the author realised that he could make the villain hateable while also cramming in fanservice to the show in one go and decided to kill two birds with one stone. Maybe not the most sensitive portrayal of this subject matter but it doesn't take away from the show too much and is relatively easy to look past. Arc is not an amazing protagonist by any metric but is oddly likeable. He is absolutely a self-insert power fantasy but has enough of a fun personality to still be entertaining to watch. Ariane, surprisingly, wasn't just a walking cliche and actually had a few different aspects to her character which was better than what I was expecting. There weren't many other important characters (Chiyome was very bland and forgettable), though it is worth mentioning that Ponta, the spirit creature that travels with Arc, is adorable and easily the best character of 2022. The animation is just good enough that it isn't unwatchable but nothing really special. The anime should be commended for not using much CGI though. The music was very solid and there were a variety of different, well-composed tracks that fit each scene perfectly, from fantasy songs to playful ones to heroic ones for when Arc saves the day. The ending song was a lively and fun J-pop track and the opening song was performed by Pellek, a YouTuber who has been covering anime songs for a while, so seeing him getting a chance to preform his own anime opening put a smile on my face. Plus, the song is an absolute banger and probably the best opening of the Spring 2022 season, not even considering how the sound effects were used in the actual episodes. The opening song has more style than the entire show. In summary, it's another typical isekai, though a bit better than the super generic power fantasies. It can be dull at times but ended up being surprisingly enjoyable (at least to me, an isekai trashman). If you hate isekai, this'll give you another 1/10 to add to the list, but if you are like me and enjoy a lot of isekai, even the really generic ones, you'll probably have a decently fun time with this.

Overlord lite. I liked it, if you're expceting it to be better than overlord, then you probably wont. And although there's a lot of sexual assault, I like the contrast between the antagonists and arc. It has a preety light mc, and the story was alright, my only issue is the sexual assult scenes seemed a tad too in line with reality. But apart fro that I think the writing and the story were good. I dont really think there's a comparrison to be made between overlord and this. Plus thats putting the bar really high. If you like super strong main characters and/or a simple isekai, you should give it a go.

I Don't know why everyone is calling this an overlord clone. the similarities end at the main character being a skeleton. I prefer to refer to this as "What happens when Sans from Undertale decides to become a paladin and gets Isekai'd." since that's more a more genuine comparison as to what this anime actually is. I'm not calling it original or groundbreaking because it isn't. But it is fairly entertaining. The Story: 5. The story is extremely... average. it follows the same overpowered fantasy adventure formula with little deviation. If your hunting for something unique story wise beyond Bone Boy you wont find it here. The Art: 7. Its Solid, CG is primarily used at long camera ranges and for walking animations heading away from the camera, its not really that noticeable and the rest of the art is fairly solid. Nothing stands out as being exceptionally spectacular, but on the same token nothing is disappointing either. Its a solid middle ground. The Sound: 5. The opening was fine and gets the point across that this is supposed to be a comedy anime. The music in the anime is easily forgettable. and the Ending also felt kind of average to me. The SFX sounds were Ok but nothing incredible. The Characters: 7. The reason why you watch this, Characters are solidly in the "popcorn anime" category for me, There is basically no background given to anybody nor any form of character development. But for what the anime is trying to be you really don't need it anyways. It tries to be entertaining and light and manages to accomplish that pretty well in my opinion. The dialog flows fairly naturally and the comedy doesn't seem forced. Again, nothing revolutionary, but its solidly alright. I gave this a 7 because I found it entertaining, not because its some revolutionary new series designed to push a new flavor into the genre. Its quick, fairly funny, and doesn't really get anything wrong. In doing so it sits firmly within the realm of the average. If you want something that's quick, average, mildly funny, and doesn't take any brainpower to process you might enjoy this. If you are looking for something deeper than this isn't what your looking for.
