Overlord: Ple Ple Pleiades 4

Overlord: Ple Ple Pleiades 4 continues the well-known formula of the franchise's chibi specials, bringing short episodes focused exclusively on humor and absurd situations involving the characters of Nazarick. As in previous seasons, the aim here is not to expand the main story or delve deeper into characters, but rather to deliver small comedic sketches and fanservice for those who enjoy the cast. The problem is that this formula has started to wear thin. In the early seasons, this style worked very well precisely because it was something new and lighthearted. Seeing extremely powerful and serious characters acting childishly or exaggeratedly had its charm and yielded truly funny moments. However, by the fourth season, the feeling is that the episodes are simply recycling jokes and situations already seen before, without bringing enough creativity to maintain interest. Another point that bothered me a lot was the enormous detachment of these specials from the main work. Before, this wasn't such a big problem because the humor compensated, but now it seems that Ple Ple Pleiades exists only for the sake of existing. The main anime lacks that fun, complementary feeling. At many points, I felt like I was watching something completely disposable and without any impact. The episodes go by quickly and still manage to elicit a few smiles here and there, especially for fans very attached to the Overlord characters. However, for me, this chibi version of the franchise has lost much of its charm. The humor has become predictable, repetitive, and lacks the charisma of the first seasons. I ended up watching it more out of habit than because I was truly engaged. Overall, Ple Ple Pleiades 4 isn't bad, but it clearly shows signs of the formula wearing thin. It might appeal to those who still enjoy this kind of lighthearted, unadulterated special, but it no longer works for me as it once did. Nota: 5/10
