The first part was more of a recap from Kyo's point of view, but still a recap. It didn't show anything new. I'm not even sure why they added it. Might be for those who watch it without ever having seen the series, but I wouldn't recommend doing that. The second part I enjoyed tho, it was fun to learn more about Tohru's mom and seeing her meet her mysterious dad who we never saw during the whole series. I liked the story even though it was sad as well. After this movie you understand a lot more about Tohru's family. Aside from the recap this was a nice movie to end the series with. Or well.. there might be a sequel?

is there any realm that katsuya and hatori are brothers or father and son? 😂 hahaha they really look alike. imagine if katsuya still alive and meet hatori at kyo-tohru's wedding that would be hilarious. it's a very good decision they made kyoko-katsuya's story into a movie, so they got enough screentime about their story and we can see it fully about how beautiful their love is . wufff p.s; need papa katsuya in my life asap. ehe. but kyo still my real love EHEEEE im waiting for fruit basket another in anime. onegaishimasu >.< p.s2; MAL keeps asking me to write more but i said enough kyaaaa

Short and sweet, this movie encapsulates one of the best things about Fruits Basket, mainly within the 3rd season, and ties it to one of the anime's major characters who we unfortunately never got to meet due to tragic circumstances. If you know, you know. The movie starts off with a recap of some major events specifically related to two very special characters. While some may not like the recap, I personally loved seeing all of these absolutely beautiful events compiled together, and so rewatching them was simply a joy. The rest of the film focuses on Tohru Honda's mother, Kyoko Honda, and her life throughout many stages. Seeing her growth as a person is great. The romance between her and Katsuya, Tohru's eventual father, I won't lie is kinda sus and not something I or most people approve of. However, the story is still quite nice to watch, and to see how they get together and create this whole beautiful story known as Fruits Basket through their daughter Tohru is wonderful. Plus, the very end of the movie gives us some.....really, really nice content. I won't spoil what, but, if you love how Fruits Basket ended, you'll be very pleased. Overall, if you loved or even enjoyed Fruits Basket, you'll love this film. It's short, sweet, and is a nice recap that also gives us insight into some previously unexplored characters and ties them to the themes of the main series. You don't have to watch the film by any means, but it's definitely nice to see. 9/10

Fruits Basket is always so touching and emotional the waterworks never stop for me. The backstory of Tohru's parents is just as touching as the other 3 seasons of the anime. The beautiful animation, soundtrack and storyline draw you in and make you think about your own life, where you went lost and how you got back up from that period of isolation and depression. Everybody has certain moments in life like Kyoko, whether to that degree of losing a loved one or simply not knowing what to do with their life. Fruits Basket prelude touches this subject in a beautiful way and works to uplift those who are going through that time or have gone through it. In simple terms, this movie is uplifting and brings tears to the eyes with its emotion and the experiences of various characters. You won't be disappointed watching this movie. Watch it with confidence with a tissue in hand.

I've been hesitating to watch the movie not because I wasn't excited but because I just wanted to feel that I still have more content related to this anime and to be watched. I just finished watching it and I am here not to tell u about the story nor about the characters but only about how this anime makes me feel that life deserves to be lived in, deserve to fight for, and deserve to know such real humans to spend your life with. No one can live alone cuz we all need someone beside us, giving us Care and love, hugging us when we are lifeless, and reminding us how much we are important. And I just gave this anime a 10 because of the deep messages they gave me and reminded me, that I hope we all find someone who always gives us this amount of Love to continue living in helping all people who need our humanity to save them from this cruel world

A Beautiful movie. I feel that they did a recap of season 3 to show what Tohru had to go through and make us cry all over again about how strong Tohru is. Also, the fact she deserves to be the happiest person in the world. I love the backstory about her parents. It was beautiful and I won't say more than that because everyone deserves to watch it without me being a big mouth. Also, let me say that Natsuki Takaya's work for fruits basket is really special. I cry very easily, but this specific series gets to my heart every time and I can rewatch this over and over again. I love it! It's beautiful, it's amazing, and well, let's just leave it at that because I can go on and on about it. I know I'm a bit biased for giving the movie a ten in everything, but uh it's fine because it's how I feel about this movie.

This is my first time writing a review I really love this anime and this anime saved me though there are scenes that can also make you cry but overall the story is very good and I would totally recommend this to shoujo lovers out there! First is the story The story about how Tohru's parents met it was a 10/10 for me. though I already know that Kyoko was a delinquent at the series but this movie really gives a deep explanation for it. Art Art is great. Sound Music is very good that it can tear your heart apart when it ends. I reallly love the song Eden from MonkeyMajik I don't know how to explain it well but once an episode ends it really tears your heart you'll feel like crying and also the end song from this movie it's new to the feel but it's also very good I'd also give it a 10/10 Character An Absolute 10/10 Enjoyment No words to describe just 100/10 Overall It's pretty sad that this anime has come to an end but Fruits Baskets will always have a place in my heart.

I'll say this is probably one of the most wholesome Anime that i've ever watched, i really love Furuba series from the season 1 until the final season, so i had a huge expectation wiyh this Movie, and after all this Movie never cut of my expectations, Furuba Prelude is really wholesome, the story is simple but the executions in every scene are really great, we need more Anime like this one, the sound is very good even though is not that good as the Season 1 or Season 2 or the Final Season, for Enjoyment i really enjoy watched this Anime, i had some goosebumps in some scene, in the end i gave an applause for this wholesome Anime. This movie is a really perfect ending for Fruits Basket, this series gave me a lot of feelings and can make me happy. This movie is more better than Violet Evergarden Movie for sure.
