While Season 2 of the anime retained the compelling storytelling of Season 1, its animation and pacing were notably subpar. The production quality, marred by inconsistent visuals and rushed sequences, was so disappointing that the author intervened, halting airing for nearly six months to address the issues. Silver Link's collaboration with Studio Palette seems to be a weak link, and they should either exercise stricter oversight or reconsider co-productions. This serves as a critical lesson for future projects to ensure higher standards. Hopefully, this setback hasn’t doomed the series, and fans can still anticipate a third season with improved execution.

Huh. I was expecting more reviews. No worries, I'm here now :D Very quick. Visuals. It depends on what version you're watching. The first episodes (was it 6?) had horrendous animation and designs, so they pressed STOP and started again. Not that the v2 is flaws free (too dark and other problems as such). The audio is ok. Some interesting ED (song and visuals), OP is meh. The VAs did ok. And now, the story itself. Well, it is bad. A lot of plot contrivances are in place to move the plot from point A to point B. For example: "oh no, we must return to the palace immediately to protect the queen". Arrives at the palace, stops before entering, "to extinguish fires", arrives too late in the room. Lets the "evil guy" grab someone, "its ok, the door can't be open except if...". So ofc it will be opened. The "guy" leaves with said someone, "oh, no. how come?". Sees a car, "it must be them", follows them. Then, she has a breakdown "how did all this happen?". Geeee, I wonder... And there is more nonsense like this. I don't know the sauce, I don't care about the sauce. I'll assume it is mostly the same (because otherwise its a different show), so that means the author is dumb. Unfortunately I don't remember much details from the 1st season, so there might also be some plot holes. I won't be bothered to check it out. Wanna talk about character development? Sorry, 404. What the author feels about that is round-up to "see? everyone has layers". Fkin' cheap tricks..... You wanna talk about romance? You know, one of the main attraction points of the 1st season? Too bad. Maybe in the next one. In short, don't bother. If you already saw the 1st season, you could watch this, just to see where the story is going (assuming there will also be a 3rd season), but don't expect much. I'm giving it a 4 for the... I don't even know. For the designs, some good animation, some (very very rare) decent fight choreography, ED, maybe some cute moments (also very rare). No rewatch value. No, not even to refresh my memory when/if the 3rd season will air. Have a lovely evening.

The art style and animation were better, the plot was not bad, and it had a nice blend of action, comedy, romance, and adventure. The plot was ok with some emotional moments and some fun ideas. Iska and Alice's relationship, as it played out, was fun to watch. Answered some questions, though still got a few left aside from that, it was still fun to watch, despite having to wait so long for them to finish, I would recommend it The characters were still fun, and I enjoyed them The story was ok Art style not bad, feels improved If you want something fun and not too complex, this is a good anime to watch to pass the time art style is fitting for the story

This anime is a hidden GEM !! I've always liked Sazane's work .. anime like this and [ No body remembers me in this world] are gold .. the mixture of fantasy and survival , Apocalyptic or War is soo interesting to watch when it's written well . Not to mention the Tension and distrust among the royals was good too .. it always gave me Seraph of the End vibes .. This anime has good plot far gar better than the average fantasy animes out there .. and not mention the animation quality is soo good comparing to it's first season. The unique camera angles and cuts , sounds tracks will catch your eyes in a good way ... So far I think it's better than season 1 .. but I'm not saying season 1 was bad either... It was decently average i would say . Definitely recommend it.. and I hope it gets a season 3 .. please 🙏🏻

In my opinion, this series is too normal! But if you watch it just for fun or don't pay too much attention to the depth, this series is still worth watching. But I feel that this remake is still quite ok and the art has become more beautiful and stable, but in the last episode, it has very bad art again. But I am an easy-going person and watch anime without logic or not paying too much attention to the depth or the highlights in the animation or story, I just want to watch and relax with these series. So if you watch it with a deep story level or focus on the animation, then please don't watch it, but if you watch it to relax or watch for fun or entertainment, then you should watch it.

Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World, the Second Rumbling — A rough journey of a trip that by all means should've failed, but ending up actually somewhat surprisingly better than expected. It's no secret that out of all of the authors I've come to loathe over the years of watching anime, one such name stands out for all of the wrong reasons: Kei Sazane. Simply put, this guy's Modus Operandi is to see what's popular with similar works in its stated genres and come up with stories that are more or less inferior versions of existing works, which, if you've been in the AniManga scene long enough, the footwork of cliches and tropes soon becomes overbearing to the point that there's nothing wholly "original" about his works. This was certainly the case last year, with the author getting a "resounding" trio of his works up for anime adaptations, consisting of last Spring's Kami wa Game ni Ueteiru. a.k.a Gods' Games We Play (which is just a poor man's No Game No Life), as well as last Summer's Naze Boku no Sekai wo Daremo Oboeteinai no ka? a.k.a Why Does Nobody Remember Me in This World? (which has the better story of the 3, but with Project No. 9's fumbling in endless production mediocrity) and of course, the "long-awaited" sequel to Kimi to Boku no Saigo no Senjou, Aruiwa Sekai ga Hajimaru Seisen (shortened to KimiSen) a.k.a Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World, which its Fall 2020 premiere shows quite the severe lack of lustre in its story depiction of a "Romeo and Juliet"-esque romance that's backed by traditional fantasy and action. And come almost 4 years later, when KimiSen arrives back onto the anime scene last Summer...only to wander its way into the "because of COVID" excuse of an elongated delay that almost took a year until now to be resolved by another studio that's shoehorned in at the last minute, I'm looking at the anime gods to see the "notion" that Kei Sazane's works are truly cursed in one way or another. With the anime adapting Volumes 5 to 8 of the LN, the "Romeo and Juliet" fantasy fashion takes us straight to the Ice Calamity Witch Alice's home of the Nebulis Sovereignty, where the next signs of proceedings are to be taken with the direction of succession by bringing the "Land of the Witches" into a new age of supremacy — siding with its long-time rival of the Imperial Empire and ending a long drought of conflicts that has since then resulted in endless heaps of war. This, however, triggers the people involved in the movement, because these astral mages were the same tribes of people who got persecuted by the Empire, and had to make a faction of their own to establish a place for themselves and the survivability of the mages, which is how the Nebulis Sovereignty came about in the first place. The very idea of the unification between the Sovereignty and the Empire is a big deal to finally come together as one kingdom and progress together as a nation, though with all things "yin and yang", where the former chooses peace, the factions from within it choose war. To give even further context, the Neublis Sovereignty is made up of 3 Houses: Lou, Zoa, and Hydra. The House of Lou consists of Alice and her sister family of mother Millavair, the current Queen of the Sovereignty, alongside her other sisters, eldest Elletear and youngest Sisbell. These astral witches are fierce in their own right and have the biggest influence on the Sovereignty. Compared to that, the smaller Houses of Zoa and Hydra each also have their influences, with Zoa being on the neutral side and Hydra clearly being antagonists, subjected to the people that will ally with them if it's to their benefit. It's with this in mind that we continue with the story. Also, since Iska and his small unit team have yet another Nebulis problem on their hands that doesn't belong to Alice (but is related to her), Sisbell is quite the joker to the gang, who have been dealing with the Empire's problems since Season 1, and the coincidence only meets more ire with Alice, who's already seeing Iska in secret. Combine all of the seemingly unrelated circumstances that will pose a big threat to the Sovereignity in totality, and KimiSen as a series, for better or for worse, at least has a story plot going for it and to be maximized in its adaptation, for better or for worse. I know I gave a lot of flak to how the story was written cookie-cutter style, but at least I can tell you now that the series is not as bad as I'd assumed it to be 4 years ago, after much of the sobriety that I had trying to understand KimiSen as a whole. Undoubtedly, the production side of things is one of a fair share of what used to be the "planning catastrophe according to COVID" cases of excuses of meltdown. And with Silver Link beging at the heart of the matter, it has quite the schedule that is backfiring against everything that the studio is churning out at the time: the more popular Yozakura-san Chi no Daisakusen a.k.a Mission: Yozakura Family (which started out last Spring), and the much-maligned Maou Gakuin no Futekigousha a.k.a The Misfit of Demon King Academy, with its sequel split-cour seasons. Unless you're J.C.Staff and can handle multiple projects at once, Silver Link unfortunately was not the exception to the latter, and in trying to run 3 separate production lines all at the same time, the studio was undeniably overtaxed and underprepared. It's only with the good relations with the AniManga industry that Silver Link got Studio Palette to help things out, but by then, the nearly year-long delay had resulted in permanent damage to not only the anime but also the studio and its mismanagement, even if the latter studio does a better job "remaking" the entire sequel altogether. I know I did give a rather harsh critique to the OST, which actually served its purpose well. If you're a fan of AliA, her OP song here is not that bad, actually, but between hers and Kaori Ishikawa's Season 1 OP, they're about even for the most part. The ED with Sizuk feat. AYAME sounds like a song for the angsty teen, but whatever it is, it's there and you can't miss it. The only lingering question in my mind is this: Does Kei Sazane have the elements to create some compelling stories, even if they're generic at best? The answer I can give you is one that requires some level of thought: while NazeBoku certainly had an original (and much more interesting) story from the get-go, and Kami wa Game is the poor man's No Game No Life that isn't even worth appealing in the first place, going back to KimiSen after quite a while, I'm able to see through the cracks that the author himself was trying to make a generic story work as hard as it could be, even when it doesn't incentivize readers and watchers of either medium (be it the LN, the manga (which got cut halfway in its adaptation), or the anime itself) to be so. KimiSen certainly got better as the plot progressed, which picked up the enjoyment factor, though its mileage will depend on you.

It is so sad that I have to give this series a low score, I actually liked the first season and thought that maybe it has potential. The story is all over the place to begin with, there are some episodes that feel straight out of a romcom, and also there are some other episodes that feels like we are at the beginning of a long shounen story. Nothing progresses, neither romance nor the main story. It will reach to some point that you will eventually get detached from both and don't even understand what is going on. Characters? Nothing special, they are just templates you can find in any other anime. I recommend you to watch this season only if you have time, if you watched the first season and want to see some progression then don't waste it.

hope they don't make season 3. the story is all over the place. I don't even know what the scene is trying to say. and the dialogue is too cringe in my opinion. the writing is bad. the animation is worse. even with the top VAs and fan service (which made me decide to watch) didn't help lift the enjoyment. even after reproduction/reairing(?) the quality didn't improve. too many plot holes in episode 12 too. if the overall quality for this season is good, I don't mind with a cliffhanger. but with this, I have no appetite to continue watching the next season. it's similar to what happened to the Seven Deadly Sins. so, if you know what happened to it, I suggest save your 4 hours for other anime.

Story Your enjoyment of this season really depends on what you're looking for. If you take it as a standalone, it’s a decent enough watch with some okay moments. However, if you compare it to the first season like I did, it’s a clear downgrade. The story feels much shallower this time around, and the relationship building has shifted away from actual romance toward cheap ecchi tropes. It’s still watchable, but the heart of the series feels like it’s missing compared to the original run. Visuals I personally preferred the look of the first season. In this sequel, the visuals feel a bit too bright and the color palette is oddly bland. There are still some good-looking scenes here and there, so don't get me wrong—it's not "ugly"—but the overall art style feels less inspired than what we got years ago. Conclusion Is it worth watching? It’s honestly a coin flip. Because the second season was released so long after the first, the shift in storytelling and art style is very noticeable. If you were a huge fan of the first season, you might find this transition frustrating. It's a "hit or miss" situation that depends entirely on whether you can handle the shift in tone.

We are back to the war between technology and magic, a war with no end on the horizon, between the Empire and Sovereignty. In this season of Our Last Crusade, we are picking up straight from where we left off, with Iska and his group being on their vacation, and Alice's sister asking for a favor. This then flows into the rest of the season, building upon the world we were introduced to. As for the plot of the season, we are going further into the politics and conflicts in the two nations, which starts to involve more people and require larger scale actions to be taken. Through the season we see different angles for a lot of the plotlines, this is done both to make us the viewer question peoples actions, but also to shed light on the more complex parts of the plot. It also gives a great feeling of the world as a whole, since it is not just the main characters acting, but all the influential people as well. Though sometimes it feels slightly rushed, with it having a limited time to deliver the necessary plot details, which sometimes make it feel slightly off. But even with that is the plot overall still rather nice and is a good continuation from the previous season. Character wise there is much focus still on the two main characters, Alice and Iska, with us getting to see their struggles and growth. Since we see both of them still having to face the struggles in front of them, both those long term and short term. This makes it clear that the characters evolve and have to work with who they really are. We also still see a fair amount of the side characters, with them having both larger and smaller roles, while still overall giving more life to the setting with their individuality. So the characters are very much like the previous season, with the old characters being much themselves, while still introducing new and promising characters. Production value of the show is also very much the same as the previous season. With some things being done rather nicely, which is mostly the combat scene and the rest seeming to be at an average level at least. The biggest issue production wise is the lack of time, the season could really have used more screen time, which could have given them room for a better pacing. Because the rush that could be felt at points in the show, made it rather clear that something was cut, an explanation to an action, more overall details or just letting a moment sink in, this was something that really seemed needed and is the main thing that holds the season back. Overall is it still a good season that continues the story that was told in the previous season. The only major issue seems to be that it could have been more with more time, but sadly wasn’t.

This season is a downgrade in every single way compared to the last season. - The humor now relies entirely on repetitive, embarrassed squabbling over Iska. "STOP!!! ISKA IS MINE!!!!!" or "ISKA YOU PERVERT!!" Is 90% of the humor. The other 10% is Mismis being a dumbass. Is it even right to call this humor? - Everything is inconsistent. The characters have different personalities on a whim (Sisbell). There are at least 5 different animation styles and art designs; every scene feels disjointed, as if a completely different animator handled each one. It's a range of good to I can count the number of strokes on my hands. In the last episode, the fight looks like a mashup of sorts. Did they get all their fans (all 10 of them) to collab on drawing that? - The characters all have rocks in their heads. Especially the girls surrounding Iska, they all now outwardly want him for some reason. Even Nene, who had previously expressed little interest in him. Speaking of that unit, just kill them off. They do nothing. The white-haired guy loves pretending he's doing something with his gun (which no longer has electricity? Writers must have forgotten 🤔). And Nene and Mismis are now just cheerleaders. Nene no longer has her missile or whatever weapon she had, and Mismis's Astral energy has been relegated to just a mark on her arm. - I could shove my hand up a donkey's ass and pull out its shit, and I might just find this show's plot hidden inside. Alice, the STRONGEST soldier, 😮 has been given the duty of protecting some firefighters. ALICE, the ICE CALAMITY WITCH 😱, who can SOLO the imperial army (supposedly), is relegated to basic guard duty for the injured. ARE WE DEADASS??? And do I even need to mention the other Saint Disciples? There are like 10 of them, and only 3 are brought up, even though they gave us whole introductions for ALL of them? And the blue-haired girl... WHO THE FUCK IS SHE? As a matter of fact, who the fuck are half of these characters?? The maid squad is brought up in a single frame, ignored for a couple of episodes, and then all of a sudden, they become as relevant as Iska's unit? tl;dr: This season is horse ass. Everything is inconsistent: the animation (the worst out of these), the character designs, the story, everything. The "jokes" are just girls fighting over Iska. Only worth watching for Elletear 🥵.
