Zombie Land Saga Movie: Yumeginga Paradise

This was a huge waste of time. I’m not even sure if it’s because the movie itself sucks or because I hadn’t watched anything Zombieland Saga-related in so long that I completely fell out of its vibe. Probably a bit of both. You’d think that in a franchise where a guy literally digs up seven dead girls, revives them as zombies and forces them to become idols to save Saga Prefecture, literally anything could happen. Well, not really. I already had doubts about the alien plot when they teased it at the end of Season 2, but this movie pretty much confirmed all my worst fears. The funniest part? Tae (the same Tae who spent two whole seasons acting like a feral gremlin) suddenly wakes up and becomes the main driving force of the story. Whether that’s actually a good thing or not is debatable. For most of its two hours, the movie felt like one of those random cash grab shonen filler flicks. There’s a ridiculously overpowered threat, the mains are somehow the only ones who can stop it, everyone gets their mandatory cool moment, and by the end they just sweep the whole conflict under the rug like it never happened. We learn basically nothing new. The Xu Fu legend is still untouched, the crazy producer's subplot from Season 2 (hinting that the girls might be draining his life force) is completely ignored, and the long-awaited Sakura-Koutarou past gets nothing but a half-assed nod at the very end. But hey, at least we got to act like Power Rangers. I’ve never been a fan of when a parody slowly stops parodying something and just becomes the thing it used to make fun of. Zombieland Saga started as a clever idol anime spoof, but it’s been drifting away from that for a while now. Another problem is that the movie takes itself way too seriously at times. Giant laser massacres, world-ending disasters, state of emergency announcements with those boring af filler characters… it all felt completely out of place. If they really wanted to do the alien thing, why not make it stupid and fun? Like the aliens only agree to spare Earth if our idols can beat theirs in a singing/dancing contest. That would’ve at least made sense for the franchise. Instead we got a lame Independence Day rip-off. Visually it’s nothing special either. There’s barely any improvement over the TV seasons, and outside of maybe two cool shots, most of it looks pretty uninspired. The music was fine though, and hearing Mitsuishi Kotono actually speak properly after all that feral grunting from Tae was genuinely shocking. She’s still great. In the end I was a bit generous with the score. I still care about this franchise, and I think there’s enough left for one more season, but it doesn't change the fact this movie was both forced and unnecessary at the same time.

Very fun movie. Just like the main show this movie is full of its bizarre moments. Just like in the trailer we see Tae talk in a normal manner for the first time, instead of making zombie grunts like she usually does in the show. This makes creates some interesting and sometimes funny dialogue with the characters. The movie also has a lot of action scenes, which is definitely a new thing for the franchise. But they are done in a very funny and awesome way. I definitely think this movie is better that the second season for Zombieland Saga. Sakura has a more prominent roll in the movie compared to season 2. Of course the star of the movie is Tae. I have you are one of those people who thought the second season was disappointing and are not sure about the movie. I say give it a watch.

“ Zombie Land Saga: Yumeginga Paradise” is the sequel to the anime series Zombie Land Saga. It takes this series into sci-fi and action story, while delivering the emotional core that has grown since the TV series. Story: In this film, zombie idols fight against Aliens. This is why the film is more of a science fiction film than an idol anime. The film mainly focuses on "Legendary Yamada Tae", who is the key to fighting. While this film might not be an outstanding comedy anime like season 1, it does have some comedic sequences with good momentum. As an SF or hero movie, it was good. The action sequences are well executed, but the most important and impressive aspect is the bond between Sakura and Tatsumi, and between Sakura and Tae. These emotions are not illustrated in many scenes, but they are impressive and memorable. Animation work: Mappa did a good job, as they did in the previous two seasons. The film is a fantastic adventure involving fighting Ariens and, of course, singing scenes. The quality was consistent throughout the film, but the final scenes were particularly powerful. Tae's performance as the heroine was particularly emotional. Acting: Kotono Mitsuishi, who played Tae, was perfect for the role of heroine in this film. She portrayed Tae's various facets and delivered an emotional performance. Kaede Hondo, who played Sakura, was also fantastic. Sakura shone throughout the film, not only as a comedienne but also as an idol seeking her dream. Music: The songs of TV series, such as "Adabana Necromancy" and “Bouken Zundokodon” are used, but new songs also appear very effectively. Supporting this "SF and hero film", some very cool numbers were created. Also, the emotional numbers that support the human drama are very effective. The ending theme was a must- listen track. Summary: While it may not surpass the comedic brilliance of TV series, the exploration of the characters' emotions and bonds is highly successful. As a zombie SF idol anime film, it was engaging and worthwhile.

I can't put into words how I'm feeling after watching it; I'm so happy. When it ended, I clapped and sent a bunch of messages to my friend like a madman. I even started imagining a dystopian world where I'm a dictator who can force people to like it. The movie is simply fantastic; it felt like I’d gone back in time to 2018 and was watching *Zombie Land Saga* for the very first time all over again. It achieved exactly what *Zombie Land Saga* did back then, but from within the *Zombie Land Saga* universe itself—I loved that. And anyone who thought the movie was bad should be hanged in the town square, have their family's assets confiscated, and see their name dragged through the mud. Ever since the movie ended, I’ve been pacing back and forth with a smile on my face; I’m just so happy. It was wonderful, fantastic—a real dose of joy in my life. I don't know what to do with myself; I almost rewatched it right away. It was a true marvel.

Zombie Land Saga: Yumeginga Paradise was an amazing movie and easily a 10/10 for me. It captures everything that made Zombie Land Saga special while taking the story to a bigger scale. The comedy was hilarious, the emotional moments hit hard, and the music performances were incredible from start to finish. The animation looked fantastic, especially during the concert scenes, and every member of Franchouchou had moments that reminded me why I love these characters so much. The movie balanced fun, chaos, and heartfelt storytelling perfectly without losing the unique charm that makes the series stand out. What I enjoyed most was how the film felt like a celebration of everything Zombie Land Saga has built over the years. It made me laugh, got me emotional, and left me with a huge smile by the end. For fans of the series, it's a must-watch and a satisfying continuation of the story. Overall, Zombie Land Saga: Yumeginga Paradise exceeded my expectations and delivered an unforgettable experience. 10/10.

I am not big on Idol anime series. However, Zombie Land Saga was one of the few idol series that I actually thoroughly enjoyed! It was a hilarious comedy on girls who died and got turned into zombies to become idols. Despite the wacky premise, it explored deep themes of death, regret and second chances that made it more than just a generic idol anime. This sequel movie isn't really any of that... It's a straight-up alien invasion film and less about the idol group singing or overcoming past regrets. It's an incredibly weird and tonally different sequel but the ludicrous nature of the premise does result in the film being a lot of fun. Plus, the biggest incentive to this film is seeing an awakened Tae! The film is a bit long at 2 hours with some pacing issues, we don't get much on Tae's past despite her awakening, the ending is a little disappointing and there are still tons of loose plot threads. I hope we do get a proper and more authentic season 3 though.

(Spanish review on my list) The Legendary Tae Yamada Arc, Number Zero Franchouchou's Favorite Zombie Idol and honestly, I don't know how a zombie idol movie that's ridiculous enough to throw aliens in out of nowhere can be so damn good... It's not just a comedy anime film, it's also a really good "Independence Day" style alien movie. And it's also a promotional ad to boost tourism in Saga Prefecture, Japan. And it's also an idol story with beautiful dramatic twists and turns and pretty good songs. And to top it all off, it has a beautiful, not entirely rosy, ending where you do feel a bit of sadness, even though it was somewhat predictable, the ending still hurt a little... I really have no complaints... I really like Zombieland Saga; it's how a comedy/idol/zombie/satire anime should be... it doesn't disappoint within its eccentricity.... Perhaps my problem is that We don't have any more of this anime, and they're already world-class idols... there's not much more they can squeeze out of this anime....

Zombie Land Saga: Yumeginga Paradise is finally on streaming and, it sure was well worth the wait cause even in movie form, Zombie Land Saga does not miss. This movie was THE LEGENDARY YAMADA TAE film and it delivers on it. If you haven't read the spinoff manga thats ok, but as someone who has, seeing her finally in action was beyond a treat. But more importantly, this is without a doubt a Zombie Land Saga movie, not just any idol anime movie. Gags and oddities even if there's an alien invasion going on in the only way this series know how, and it hits every time. Its so smartly written how it balances the sci fi plot with the plot with the girls and Tae and Kotaro. Giving a BIT of what we desire in terms of long-term plot threads and fanservice while extending the character of Saga and its citizens to take part as well. Beyond masterful. This is an endlessly rewatchable movie. The only thing keeping ZLS from being the greatest idol series is the fact Macross was there first, but I think we can all agree, Franchouchou is Saga's #1, and that's most important than anything else. Here's to when we see the girls again because this was a 2 hour epic yet not even remotely the ending of the series which is astounding. Where do we even go from here?

Zombie Land Saga: Yumeginga Paradise is a full-on action/comedy/sci-fi conclusion to the massive cliffhanger that season 2 left off on. In that sense, it is both a bit more and a bit less than I was hoping for. In terms of attempting to be an action/sci-fi movie, it succeeds pretty well. This is probably the most consistently good that ZLS has looked, especially in terms of raw animation prowess, and the action set pieces are surprisingly thrilling. With this film finally giving us a look at Yamada Tae’s true self, seeing how that personality interacts with the rest of the wacky crew she’s been surrounded by for so long was rather endearing, further strengthening the bond between all of the Franchouchou girls. On the other hand, there were definitely a few elements missing from a good bulk of the screen time, namely in the fact that this is supposed to be an idol anime. Bookending a two-hour film with two short performances and having basically nothing in-between does not an idol anime make, and so it starts to feel less like an idol anime and more like an action anime that just so happens to have idols in it. It’s also a bit hit and miss in terms of the zany insanity that I’m used to from this franchise. Sometimes it just plays its concepts straight, like with the aliens themselves just being kind of generic, but then a character will skydive out of a hot air balloon while wearing a space suit surrounded by a cascade of fireworks, so I can’t say it was completely lacking in its usual antics. It certainly has its fair share of Mamoru Miyano’s outrageous outbursts as he gives his absolute hammiest performance as Tatsumi. Overall, I do think it’s more than satisfactory as a probable conclusion to the ZLS story, but I also can’t help but wish it had a little bit more of the things that I fell in love with from this franchise in the first place.

Having read the prequel comic and waiting 4 years, this movie is disappointing. The two main hooks of this movie are Tae waking up and an alien invasion. Going into it, I assumed that Tae would deal with her past and Franchouchou would use their idol skills to defeat the aliens. Instead we got Tae barely dealing with her past and a cliched fight against aliens. Tae's fickle struggle with her past is antithetical to the series. Zombieland Saga revolves around idols dealing with their trauma/past and singing about it. Since Tae doesn't really deal with her past, the songs at the end (albeit good) don't hit at all. It doesn't help that there's almost nothing from the prequel manga in here. On top of all that, the pacing is slooow. It feels like they hang on scenes so they can just hit the 2hr mark. Outside of all of that, the movie is great. The animation is smooth, colorful, expressive, and beautiful. The landscape shots and 3DCG are especially noteworthy. The comedy and music are on point, as always. Despite the issues, it's still Zombieland Saga. It's not what I would have wanted from such a movie, but I still enjoyed it nonetheless.

Remember the cliffhanger from the end of season two? yeah we’re finally getting some closure. Zombieland saga has had its fair share of controversy between the fans, but one of the most controversies and the most discussed one in fan circles was always the use of CG in the concert portions of the show, and about that, I would preface this review by saying that this movie redeem all of those criticisms for once and for all. It is no longer an understatement to say that this movie is the best the show has ever looked. And I am not only talking about the art style or use of CG. It’s about the cinematography the framing everything comes together to form a high-quality animation production. that’s not to say that CG was not used at all. I mean, let’s be honest. This is a modern show computer assisted animation is the norm but this movie was so subtle with it or rather it blended the to the animation perfectly well with the CG that it’s no longer noticeable which is an achievement when it comes to anime. Weirdly enough for this franchise, this was an action heavy movie that did not hold back when it came to music and performing, but the action seemed like it was a priority here more than ever. It felt bigger than life, almost as if it was the entire premise and honestly, it was better for it. The movie was darker than the rest of the show. It tackled some real horrifying tragedies of a magnitude that the show has never really stepped into all the while being an entertaining family friendly movie that even non-fans and non-anime enjoyers can pick up and enjoy. Don’t let the fact that this is a movie distract you into dismissing it under the filler veil. This movie is entirely canon and it continues the story exactly from where season two left off, so in a way for people who seek to put a conclusion on the Zombieland saga franchise. The movie is a must watch. Overall: 7.8/10.

This move can be described in one line. It is so freaking retarded that it is awesome! Okay, on a more serious matter, if you have seen the previous two season of Zombieland Saga you will probably thoroughly enjoy this. The humor is still there, the girls are still amazing and you still root for them. The movie gathers all the characters into one epic show that is so ridiculous that it works beyond all reason. And YAMADA TAE!!! Also, this is coming from someone who can barely stand idol shows, but somehow Zombieland Saga manages to feel fresh, funny and genuinely exciting every time I watch it.
