Tokyo Revengers S2 is actually impressive. Impressive in the sense that it manages to be worse than season 1 in every aspect, which is saying something considering how laughably bad the writing and animation were at some points. I debated whether or not a review was even worth it for this dumpster fire, but I decided I’d air my thoughts out on this disaster. This will not be my most eloquent review, but it’s how I feel. Season 1 was serviceable. The story wasn’t the strongest, but the yankee gang setting was new for me and the mystery of Hina’s murder was enough to keep me around. This season’s arc was some of the worst writing I’ve ever seen. The world that the author has created requires us to totally suspend logic. Are there no parents in this universe? Gangs of hoodlums just stand outside fighting all day? 14-15 year olds moving drugs, murdering people, terrorising local communities? The Black Dragon gang is the main antagonist of the season, led by a 6’8 14 year old who beats his siblings. I could not help but laugh at so many of the plotholes in this season. Just a total lack of common sense from every character. So many situations that could have easily been avoided or solved with common sense. Yes, I know it’s a shonen anime and you’re going to have dumb characters and some ass-pulls, but this was too much. It was at every corner and every episode. Particularly the final boss fight in the last few episodes made me genuinely scratch my head time after time. That’s not even beginning to bring up how dumb Takemichi acts at every opportunity. Instead of taking the simple logical route for any given problem he has to overcomplicate things. Whether it’s the Taiju fight, dealing with Hina, Naoto, etc., he is just an insufferable character and it’s very hard to like a show when you have a MC like that. I think if you don’t take the story seriously and just watch it to see how bad the writing is, how bad the character designs look, how poorly animated the fights are, how dumb Takemichi is, etc., you will have a lot of fun. Kind of like those honest movie trailers on youtube. Sit back, relax, unplug your brain and you’ll have a blast. Touched on it earlier, but the art and animation this season were atrocious. It’s almost like they just did this season in MS Paint or something. Characters are stiff as a rock, often models are inconsistent, the fights look like they’re in slow mo, etc. I’ve seen the manga panels of this series. A lot of scenes were brutally butchered in the anime, ones that were meant to be emotionally powerful fell flat because of the utter disasterclass that was this season’s art direction. But you know what, somehow I did find myself enjoying this show. It was so bad that it was actually good if that makes sense. Halfway through I just completely checked out mentally and reached a weird mellow mindset where I just cruised along with this show seeing where it took me and that was kind of fun. Regardless, that’s not saving Tokyo Revengers S2 from being one of my lowest scored anime. Tokyo Revengers S2 gets 4 clover necklaces out of 10.

The first season of Tokyo Revengers was a real smash hit as in a shallow mainstream anime once again- the worst anime to come around in the last few years for me. When you have a show that you find yourself thinking about at other times during the day, you know you've got a bad one on your hands. That really has fallen apart with season two, unfortunately. There were two key points that made season one what it was: the characters (with a notable exception we'll get on to shortly) and the storyline. TR opts for the 'large cast' approach which, when not done right, can often end up with a chaotic character list that is hard to follow. To its credit, it handled that well and every character was well fleshed out and felt personable. With one exception... Takemichi. He really is what made Tokyo Revengers a 2.5 star anime instead of a solid 2. Had he been one of the major side characters, like Mikey or Chifuyu, the show would have had top marks. Given that he was the MC, however, it held the show back; the saving grace being that the show used its time to focus on everyone involved and not just him, which gave the viewer a break from the one dimensional, misplaced MC. And that's the cardinal problem with season two - too much Takemichi. For the majority of the second season, the show descended into 'MC is God Emperor regardless' mode and it's just lazy writing, to be honest. Compared to the first season's deep-dive into most of the major side characters, this season focuses much more on Takemichi and it really lets the show down; he has always seemed so incredibly out of place in this story that he makes no sense being there most of the time. That can be overlooked or even a source of comic relief at times, but not when he's the main character. Alas, now we've entered the realm of everyone worshipping every fart he lets rip, just because he's Takemichi. "The real hero of the day was Takemichi," it was said, after the defeat of Taiju. Funny that, I would have said it was Draken beating 100 seasoned fighters on his own in 5-7 literal minutes off-screen, personally, but obviously I'm just not graced enough to bask in God Emperor's crying glory. Let's not talk about the dive Taiju took from one half-baked Takemichi fist slap either, despite him getting knocked around by the much stronger Mitsuya at the start of the fight with zero repercussions whatsoever. While the time traveling angle was a bit weak in the first season, it could be taken for the lighthearted excuse to tell an intriguing story that it was. In the second season, however, it's just wearing a bit thin; that said, it wouldn't if Takemichi wasn't so painfully dense. The amount of times you find yourself yelling at the screen with the answer to a Captain Obvious moment that Takemichi takes half an hour figuring out is ridiculous. For an anime centered around gangs and violence, why the writer made the MC a painfully thick, painfully weak idiot who cries every five minutes is a bit beyond me. If it's to put across that he's the glue that holds everyone together because he isn't like the other guys, it's not working, to be honest. That said, this is still a good anime in its own right. As a Tokyo Revengers season, however, it pales a bit in comparison to its predecessor. I'll be looking forward to season three nonetheless, though if the show continues to descend into 'Takemichi is Heaven's gift to the world' mode despite him doing literally nothing but getting his sh*t shoved in, I might reconsider if there ends up being a fourth. At least we still have Chifuyu, eh? He just gets more wonderful by the episode.

So the first season was kind of good but i was completely annoyed by the main character, so now that the second season aired i was kind of unsure if i should try watching it, but i did and i got exactly what i expected, even more annoying protagonist ( he's seriously so badly written) and a story that's not exciting in any way, you know every time he gets back something different is messed up it's not a suprise anymore. if they had given Takemitchi some kind of good character developement then i would say this is getting good, but that's not happening, so i think season 3 to X will have no surprises and will be the same mechanic over and over again

This is incredibly disappointing! It honestly frustrates me because Season 1 was an absolutely solid anime! One that I would absolutely recommend, but this season basically feels like filler! We continue our development from the end of the previous season, and most of the beats have a similar rhythm. The problem is that this season only features a single thread. The thread is perfectly fine, but it's NOT enough to carry the entire season. If this had been a movie or even 6 episodes long, I would have probably rated it an 8! However, because they decided to stretch it across 13 episodes everything ended up so incredibly awkward! There's a bit of development, a bunch of nothing, a bunch of hanging around, a bit of development, repeat. The fight scene is basically the same, as each character will often stand around doing nothing or take turns getting beat up with minimal consequences. It honestly felt like we were back to classic DBZ, in which characters spend entire episodes powering up. That's how bad it is! Again, the core story and reveal and all that good stuff was FINE. The problem is that there wasn't enough content for 13 episodes. It's like as if World of Warcraft decided, 'You know what, a single quest per city is more than enough.' You know what, let's poke some holes in the core story too. WTF is this boss man who is basically a 7 foot tall perfectly muscle sculpted mountain of a man 15 year old kid... You know what, it's FINE. Villains are allowed to be strong.  How is Takemichi going up against him? He easily defeats significantly stronger fighters, yet somehow Takemichi is able to be a contender... You know what, its FINE, protag syndrome... but then they just got lazy with it... They sell the Black Dragons as being essentially militarily trained super soldiers, then hand wave them away when it stops being convenient. It's just lazy. I'm honestly just disappointed.

Plot: I believe that the mangaka of Tokyo Revengers has a wonderful and strong ability to twist the plot and direct it into places you never thought of, BUT, he has this weakness of never untwisting that twist in a good way, meaning, When you give me a surprising turn in the events (in a good way of course) you will have to explain how this unexpected turn happened and why it happened and if you fail to explain it in a good, smooth, and logical way, no matter how good this twist is it will become a bad twist, and that's Ken Wakui's writing fragility in my opinion where he never fails to surprise me but almost always fails to elucidate these twists, But I said almost impossible because he was capable of clarifying the biggest twist/mystery which was what happens to his body when he goes back to the future and how timelines change which is something I liked. And since this is a continuation of a previous season, we see the storyline and the world-building getting bigger and bigger each arc even though the timeline seems tighter and the end is closer with every passing episode. Art style: I'm gonna start by saying Coloring of scenes, characters, backgrounds is eye captivating, and the precise drawing of some things like clothing, vehicles, and bikes, and buildings shows that the mangaka cares a lot about such things which raises the level of the art style in this anime. But to be fair, what a stupid character design, you either give me the body and voice of a 40-year-old or the body and voice of a teenager, you can't just give me a character that dead serious looks and sounds like Arnold Schwarzenegger and then tell me he's 16 years old. Also, the characters' physique is really irritating, the bodies are all standard but then the heads are twice the size they should be. Animation: Except for some short scenes in fights and scenes of certain hard angles where it lost a bit of its smoothness, the animation level was high for most of the season, and what matters most is the consistency of the animation and the coordination between animation and art style to make them seem more suitable and appropriate and that was well done. Characters: characters development is either so slow or so sudden, this kind of development would be perfect for an anime with the episode number of One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, or Conan, but not for a 37-episode anime, we don't clearly see a change in the personality of a character and sometimes like in flashbacks we see the moment that character forever changed but it happens like a tick in a clock, instant. it either takes a whole season to see change and it happens vaguely or it happens immediately. This makes the anime less surprising and more predictable, and don't misunderstand me, I don't think the characters' development is bad, I just would've loved it if it was more perfectly paced. Even though the flashbacks didn't help that much in pacing the character's development, we did witness very good flashbacks that made us more attached to the characters in specific and the whole anime in general. Antagonists: The villains are well written and properly fitted into the story and never fail to pull me more and more whether they are new villains or already existing ones. It's all good, but I would appreciate it more if we were shown, informed, or aware of how many gangs there is and what areas each gang controls because I think that would've made the world more understandable, and every time we find out there is still another gangs/enemies it adds to the joy of the watching experience of course, but at some point, it becomes an overused and a cliché way of building the story and providing plot twists. Fights: Peer-to-peer fights are rare in this season, there is always a massive difference in power between the two sides. And it's goddamn impossible for someone to black out in this anime, someone got shot in the head for god sake, and still didn't fade away. Even though this is considered a non-superpower anime it still has some exaggeration in characters' power and endurance, and the balance between characters' power, endurance, and stamina couldn't have been worse, some characters are weak as a pigeon but can bare the power of a human tank hits nonstop, and what makes it more annoying is seeing a character taking a deadly hit and they show us the knocked out eyes, then immediately that character stands up as if nothing happened. Music: This anime musical staff from songwriters to composers and producers did a great job by introducing to us the terrific opening and ending of this season, the themes of this anime are catchy and beautiful to listen to, even independently and without watching the anime I'd still listen to them, the opening theme though was more beautiful and more fit to the anime, but most importantly, they are properly compatible with the events of the anime. While the soundtracks and background music weren't too good to remember, I still don't think there was a moment where I felt that there should be music here or there should be better music here, meaning that the music composers made good choices throughout the whole anime. Also, sound effects were perfectly executed, from Voice-over, hits and kicks, walking and running, bike sounds, and sound in general. Ratings: Plot: 8/10 The plot showcases impressive twists and turns but occasionally falls short of delivering clear explanations, slightly impacting narrative satisfaction. Art Style: 6.5/10 While the meticulous detailing and coloring are commendable, character design inconsistencies and proportions could use improvement for a more cohesive visual appeal. Animation: 8/10 The season maintains high animation quality for the most part, but occasional lapses in fight scenes slightly affect overall fluidity. Characters: 7.5/10 Character development's mixed pacing, while suited for longer series, impacts predictability; well-crafted flashbacks enhance attachment, yet slight imbalances persist. Antagonists: 7.5/10 Villains are well-integrated, though the repeated introduction of new adversaries occasionally leans towards a clichéd approach, affecting narrative freshness. Fights: 6/10 Infrequent peer-to-peer fights exhibit imbalanced power dynamics; occasional exaggeration in character abilities disrupts realism and engagement. Music: 7.5/10 Themes effectively complement events, with opening and ending themes standing out; while soundtracks align well, memorability could be enhanced. Attraction and Enjoyment: 8/10 Now it might be because of my love for this anime, but I still enjoyed it so much despite the drop in the general level of this season from the previous one. Overall: 7.4/10 - Good.

I mean, I wasn’t the biggest fan of this anime to begin with, but am I the only one who’s wondering what in the world happened with this season? Listen, my gripe with Tokyo Revengers has always been the same, and it’s no different with this season: restarting timelines, as a narrative mechanic, gets old real fast. I came into this season thinking it was time for something new to come out of this story, something with actual weight behind it that held my attention and didn’t simply get washed away and made irrelevant by the next timeline reiteration. I was not, as it turns out, granted that luxury. Instead, I couldn’t take anything seriously this season because I couldn’t count on it lasting for very long. Not only that, but Takemichi’s over-dramatic reactions to everything were exhausting. I don’t know if I could say that I liked Takemichi as a character to begin with, but I found him absolutely grating this season. The plot itself, beyond the timeline ridiculousness, did not once feel like something that I should care about. The beginning handful of episodes, especially, felt entirely inconsequential—I know they technically aren’t, but they felt so bland and weak that I couldn’t figure out why I should care about the newest timeline. Honestly, I was just holding my breath for something to feel like a real step toward the ultimate goal of this series, and I was left wanting, for the most part. There are still emotional or dramatic moments that I can get behind with this season, but really, I was just waiting for it to end.

Tokyo Revengers: Seiya Kessen-hen Despite a solid concept, the first season was already a tragedy, so I'm not surprised that the second season continues at a qualitatively mediocre level. The only exception is that I find this season more likable. It became more of a generic shounen, but at least it had some sort of goal, no matter how stupid it was. The highlight of this season was the protagonist because he really started to develop and not just talk about it all the time. That didn't make this season any better, but at least it made it a bit more bearable. The rest of the characters were still a disorganized mess and the story continued to go in circles. The antagonist who I relatively enjoyed, has somehow lost all his brain cells this season and has stopped thinking. If this hadn't happened, there wouldn't have been a twist for the next season. I still don't understand what Tokyo Revengers is even trying to get at. This manga/anime just can't decide on a flavor and is constantly trying to do everything and failing in every category imaginable. And this season you now got to watch 4 guys fight for 5 episodes instead of the time being used for anything meaningful. Apart from that, why is every imaginable teenager in Tokyo Revengers a psychopath? The most normal student here would be the average petty criminal in our world. Their poor parents can soon do without a pension. [Conclusion 4] The anime is perfectly suitable for mediocre entertainment, it's not a disaster even if it may seem like one. Despite the gruel that the author has mixed here, it still has a certain entertainment value. [Enjoyment 5]

This is the second season, and along with the first seasons, i feel the same way. THIS IS A MUST WATCH! They rounded off first season with an exciting ending, questions and actions which makes us grab on to season 2 right away. The story continues, still interesting, still good and sometimes sad, still giving us questions and more good explanation of each characters background story to understand why and how things happen. and like last time, i repeat myself: "I personally am not into this genre, im not into drama, not into punks and fighting and gangs and yakuza-stuff. But this story kept me going. It drags you in along with the time travels, all the curious questions being asked which u so desperately want to have an answer to. And i like how they shows a little backstory of all the characters a little at a time, and not everything right away. Cause then it would just be bunch of facts, and who wants to watch a documentary about characters haha. Maybe alot of people dont like this anime cause they feel the main character is a cry baby, but thats the point of the anime. That a very normal boy, with no strength, nor muscles, but very emotional, crying alot and showing kindness to everyone, even forgiveness, is supposed to rise up. But you kinda gotta continue watching the series, not only season 1 and season 2, to fully understand the whole story-line. Even to get some answers from this seasons answered as well... I dont feel there is any fillers, cause even if they arent fighting each episode, they still connect every episode into a nice bend, so it all feels connected and in a red tread." But i will admit that i agree with some people here; there few last ep of this season were kinda stretched and unnecessary. It felt like they were milking/stretching, instead of running off the story. It might be becuase they wanted a 3rd season, who knows, but i already know they made up for it in season 3, so keep watching guys! It's worth it and u will understand why later! Overall: if you like an story with LOVE the main focus, time traveling, emotional attachment where you cry a little bit yourself and no questions un-answered, this anime is for you! Recommend it strongly, but watch also the other season to feel complete! <3

I always like to compare Tokyo Revengers as the shounen and simpler version of Steins:Gate. Both anime shared the theme of inevitability of future. The first season of TR was quite solid, and I enjoyed it a lot. However, it’s sad to see this new Christmas arc got executed so badly. For only 13 episodes, the anime was dragged out and did not give me the satisfaction that I wanted. The start was slow, but it promised potentials with a menacing villain. However, when it mattered the most, the anime abandoned all logic, and even seemed to make audiences look like a bunch of idiots. The showdown episode was unbearable to sit through with dialogues that flabbergasted me. The main villain got dwindled down into a joke after just one episode. Takemitchy randomly gained guardian angle power where he would not die, even though he should have been squished in an instant. Takemitchy is an inconsistent character. I hate to say it but he’s way too stupid for a twenty year old something dude. Some of his internal monologues made me want to punch him. The last two episodes set up the new arc, and the show immediately improved in pacing after it got the Christmas arc done. Overall, a major disappointment, but I will have some hope for season 3. 5.5/10

This should have been an 80 min. movie! As much as I loved the first season of "Tokyo Revengers", I can't help but think this one felt slow and boring half of the time. Only like 5 or 6 (at most) episodes felt relevant and moved the story and characters forward. Everything else was just circling around something about to happen that took too long to happen and when it did... it was kind of disappointing. If they took only the good things of the content and decided to aim towards a full length film (80 min. as previously said), it could have been AMAZING! Every episode in this season is almost the same: it starts slowly, it develops even slower and when something good is about to happen, it ends. Then, the next episode manages to make the potentially exciting thing too short and moves into the next blah, blah, and the thing goes back to zero again. I wouldn't recommend this season to anyone, unless a huge "Tokyo Revengers" fan. And even so, maybe wait for a movie recap for this, because that would be the smartest thing to do with this material. I know there's people who liked it and good for them! But for me it was just average TV with almost nothing of the charm the first season had (including awesome music).

There's one thing this anime is really good with... Cliffhangers that'll hook you up In the first season Takemitchy was a guy who was mature for his age because he was actually 10 years older but that perspective of the show starts fading away as the story progresses Takemitchy is basically a moral science teacher trying hard to be a hoodlum The formula of the show says there is a new way Hinata dies in the future -> Takemitchy comes to past and tries to remove that problem involving the whole squad in the process -> the whole squad is getting their butt kicked -> Draken and Mikey come to save the day -> Takemitchy goes to future and find out everything got fucked again This is was entertaining in the first season but it got repetitive and boring, Chifuyu being the only character in this season who deserves my respect (a bit of Yuzuka too) also I'm tired of seeing 'invincible Mikey' being invincible, dude he's just a high schooler, that shit is more unbelievable than Tsukasa killing a lion in Dr Stone, even if I let that aside no matter how strong of a guy comes he's done after 1 kick, it gets disappointing everytime

Tokyo revengers second series was, unfortunately, a lot worse than the first series, which was very bad in the beginning, but turned around and was pretty good towards the end, in my opinion. As for this part in the manga, for me it was also quite worse then the other arcs but it was quite good to read. I hope the next series(if there is one) will be better, because the other arcs in the manga are a lot better too. In the anime, Takemitchi is portrayed even more awkwardly than in the manga, which I thought wasn't even possible. He, unfortunately, spoils the anime the most for me. As for the art style, it's good and the background music is well chosen too

Not nearly as memorable as the first season. I think it did a lot of things right but ultimately fell short of season 1 in almost every way. Got quite tiring to watch at times honestly but its fine. Its not horrible by any means but the animation the story its all mostly just meh. not much else to say. Its okay. Its not a masterpiece but its not trash either. The story felt recycled from the first season, but was still entertaining enough to make me keep watching and not quit out. The characters were okay, it just got stale because we kept seeing flashbacks and backstory for characters every other episode and it took away from momentum and ultimately gave me more character info but made the show feel like a drag. Nothing more to say. All across the board its just.. Fine.

"Tokyo Revengers: Seiya Kessen-hen" continues the story of Takemichi Hanagaki, a failed adult who, one day, watches a news program about the death of Hinata Tachibana, an ex-girlfriend from his high school days for whom she still had feelings. Some time later, while at a train station, Takemichi is pushed on the railway line and, when he wakes up, he is in his bed, but in the past, when he was going to school and still dating Hinata. The story continues with him trying to prevent the death of his beloved, while trying to unravel the mysteries behind this unusual event, introducing new rival gangs, many conflicts and losses along the way. Tokyo Revengers: Seiya Kessen-hen managed to improve a little (very little) the protagonist, who now strategically faces his enemies. After he unravels a little about his ability, he achieves notorious feats and earns more respect in the "Tokyo Manji Gang". The story improves, the time travel plot becomes more complex and quite interesting. The animation remains medium high, but overall it's pretty lively. The characters, like "Manjirou Sano" (Mikey) and "Ken Ryuuguuji" (Draken) get cooler and the new characters are nice additions. In general, Tokyo Revengers: Seiya Kessen-hen is better than the first season, the viewer is excited during the gang conflicts and feels the loss of the characters. I recommend it to anyone who enjoyed the first season.

(NO SPOILERS) Should you watch season 2? Absolutely, especially if you survived through the depths of hell "Tokyo Revengers" season 1 put everyone through emotionally. The negativity for this season is without a doubt overly exaggerated and i highly urge you to give this season a shot. Season 2 none spoiler short summary: Season 2 carries the same unique art style and gripping plot that Season 1 had. We follow Takemichi to once again save Hinata but this time it FEELS different. It gives great pacing to both the new character development of Takemichi alongside the sad, bad, and ugly that Tokyo Revenger's is. We finally see a lot of progress in his time travel abilities, it no longer feels as though he hasn't done anything with his time in the past and he's finally taking more of a prepared approach as to wondering around with stupid ideas like in season 1. Were also introduced to a few new characters alongside of course, without a miss, a striking strong gang to once again put us on the edge of our seats. We see rivalry and Takemichi getting the shit beaten out of him, more development on Kisakiwe and his tactics and dramatic twists in events which yet again like season 1, leave us begging for season 3. Characters: This seasons seat of characters are amazing. without spoiling anything were introduced to a decent amount, all carrying quite an interesting backstory and beautiful character designs. 2 of which who are called Hakkai and Yuzuha are our main followers to the Tokyo Revengers storyline this season. We also get to know a bit more of our already existing characters such as Mikey, Mitsuya, Chifuyu, Hinata and a few more. While you may not have expected this, Chifuyu gets a massive amount of screen time and dialogue compared to season 1. We get to know and enjoy his character just a bit more so if you're a fan of his, i highly recommend watching!! Overall: In all this season is far more rewatchable then season 1 and what i mean by that is that you don't feel depressed wondering 24/7 "Who's going to die next!?" "COME ON TAKEMICHI MOVE YOUR ASS" and many more phrases you most likely screamed at your screen. it carries itself perfectly with jaw dropping twists, amazing environment's, funny characters, and a great thrill. This season is without a shadow of a doubt a must watch.

The second season of Tokyo Revengers was aired during the sparse season. However, there was no much fuss about the sequel and number of viewers plummeted. The first season came out at spring 2021, which was chock-full of highly anticipated sequels and hyped up new IPs, and was extremely popular not only in its own season, but in the year. The second season in turn lost steam despite being aired during the season, which was much weaker. It has the same problems, not trying to develop the original concept in addition to loosing the inertia of the hype of the first season. The biggest complain about the previous season was the main character, and he remains the same in this season. His role narrows down to crying and getting beaten. He, for sure, suffers more than Subaru from Re:Zero, but it comes to a point when it is becoming funny. In situations of inevitable death, he isn't trying to do anything but just taking the punches. His every problem is resolved by someone else. I can't understand what role he plays in the story overall, let alone the role of the main character. It would be much better to get rid of him, his motives, time travel bs and just make a story about gang wars. In contrast to Takemichi, the rest cast of characters are pretty colorful and every of them play a different role in the story. Nevertheless, they still feel pretty swallow, especially it is noticeable during the climax points, where you should feel for them. The anime doesn't put effort into making these characters complex and, in the same time, becomes overly dramatic at some points. There are also some flaws in power scaling e.g. one can easily defeat one hundred rivals. Although it's shonen, there's a significant lack of good directed fight scenes. Every fight is exchange of punches with dialogs between. Aside from fight choreography the animation and visual are done well. The same goes for the ost. The OP was nerfed, but the ED was kinda banger. Tokyo Revengers has the glaring flows, which hard to ignore. Some gang/delinquent anime, that aired in the previous year, were executed significantly better. Even so I can say that I enjoyed this show, it's hard to recommend it to someone.

Very good sequel season but such a pity it took so long for it to come out. They kept everything the same which was a good decision, considering alot of good animes which just up and change the look and overall design of their animes end up doing worse but Tokyo revengers kept to their status quo but my main downside to this was the fact I couldn't remember for the life of me everything that happened in season one which was years ago. which I ended up having to watch a 45 min youtube recap video which was good but just doesn't do too much justice. The arcs touched on in the season were good and with the same structure as the first season did well to keep me entertained, mostly with the black dragons arc which did well in its climax considering how many episodes it took to get there. I would advise people who either haven't seen this or last watched it in 2021 to rewatch the first season and then go into the second for full understanding or could do what I did with watching a youtube recap but keep in mind it doesn't give you full justice.

christmas except instead of presents we get "sons of anarchy" and an mc getting his ass kicked for the 47th f*cking time ✨ THE GOOD (CHRISTMAS IS F*CKING CANCELLED): we're back to waht we do best ,character drama wrapped in violent bullsh*t the christmas setting gives the conflict some actual atmosphere with a super warming familly vibes to your face 💀 THE “TAKIMICHI PLEASE USE YOUR F*CKING BRAIN” PROBLEM: "our boy" or i'll take that one back "your boy"(this one ain't mine) is still running on 3% strategy ,97% stubbornness but i'll give him credit when sh*t hits the fan ,he keeps getting back up motherf*cker maybe useless but apparently getting beaten unconscious is his superpower 🔥 THE BIGGEST STRENGTH: the conflict finally gives the story some proper weight and the situation actually hurts the fights feel personal rather than another gang throwing hands cause why the f*ck not the plot said so 🙄 OUR HR COMPLAIN: again the formula is starting to show its seams going back to prevent tragedy followed by creating a different f*cking tragedy cause our mc is a b*tch! and repeat till takif*ckingmichi blood pressure qualifies for medical emergency congrats 🎯 FINAL VERDICT: lovely arc over all emotional ,violent , and filled with the "dysfunctional family gang drama bullsh*t" wich makes it addictive still messy AF but when it lands it lands people same as first season ✔ Watch if: you watched 1st season duh! ❌ Skip if: you're one of'em f*cking sociopaths who does not finich any damn anime 🎤 Best paired with: christmas lights ,an unresolved family trauma like all of us and chearing for takimichi's ass getting beating

This was definitely a better season than the first one!! Im so glad that takemichi has someone to rely on in the past as well as the future. It was a great decision on takemichi's part to tell Chifuyu about his time travel abilities, if it was anyone else I don't think they would have believed him or at least thought he was sane. There was a lot less focus on mikey in the first half but that scene with him and takemichi was perfection. Its great how takemichi is now apart of Mikey's friend group, I don't think it would've been as pleasing if he wasn't a captain/ closer with the main group. Cant wait to see more!!

This 2nd season of Tokyo Revengers I think I liked something more than the 1st. Thinking about it coldly, perhaps it is not as good as what has hooked me, since I have done practically the entire week well, but what it does and counts, it does very well. Chifuyu and Takemichi this season are amazing, although I noticed Drakken and Mikey a bit lacking in comparison. It is also true that my expectations at the beginning increased a lot since the first chapters made me think "okay, this seems fatter than I thought" and although later how it is resolved and what happens is fat, perhaps it was not at the level of what I expected. I really liked the Shiba family, honestly, and I would say that it is the best of the season. It is a story that although it is cool and certainly crude in many aspects, I think I would like it more if it was more realistic and Takemichi did not have the power to return to the past. Although it can hurt to see him try to make everything end well and fail over and over again, in the end I end up thinking that maybe it's too much. But still, it's okay. Let's see how it goes, as I know, many people didn't like the ending...
