Komi Can't Communicate Season 2
Naneo
Even though it says 2nd Season on the title, for me it doesn't feel like it. It just feel like the 2nd part, because everything barely change. From the story to their animation quality. I don't know why they didn't make the first season 24 episode. But well, that's that and I'm just gonna watch it. Story 10/10 They still got the same style on how to told the story. You'll get this thing called Communication to separate the story from one another. An episode usually have 1-5 Communication. Almost every episode use the same formula where they exaggerate something. For example when they had a snowball fight, they make the scene like its something straight out of shounen anime. But they do it for the sake of being funny, not because they want it look like a fighting anime. They also like to parodying other shows. Also their humour, its freaking golden. I laughing my ass off every episode. The build up, the pace, the jokes, its all gold. Art 10/10 Everything is beautifully drawn and animated. The character design, the background, the effect. Remember above I mention about the shounen anime thing, its one of the fan service for your eye. Because its epic. There's a lot of text on the screen. Either its on Komi's notebook or a bubble text. The bubble text really improve the scene and add some manga vibe. They also change the artstyle a little bit to match with the situation, I love that little touch. Sound 10/10 A lot of SFX is being used here, especially to add more to a funny scene. And let me tell you this, its great. Not overused or cringe, all is balanced. The VA deserve a thumb up too, they all doing a good job making a voice to match with the personality. Don't forget the catchy OP and ED. Its always a relief when hearing them. Character 10/10 Almost every character trait imaginable is here. You name it, yandere, kuudere, chunibyou, and the other that don't have a name. Its crazy how they can make this many characters with different personality and make the show run smoothly. The character name also connected in some way with their personality, like a pun. So it feel kinda cool if you know Japanese and recognize the pun. Because there's a lot of characters here, a screentime is gonna be a problem. But it isn't a big problem, they find a way to include at least one interaction with the MC. They have a narrator here, it act as a person that explain some scene to make it more clear to us viewer. Enjoyment 10/10 I love this series, it balanced everything out. The comedy, the story, the romance, the characters, basically everything. I'll read the manga too, it have like 300+ chapters so it'll be a while to read them all. I'm also looking forward to the next season where they are all in 2nd year. I think non-anime fans will not enjoy this anime to the fullest. Because if you wanna know some of the jokes and sarcasm here, you at least need to know a thing or two about anime steorotype. But not every jokes is an inside jokes in the anime community. I watch some of the episode with my cousin, she is a weeb too and a tomboy. We had a great time pointing every funny scene in the episode, its like we have some connection and know the reference. So if you have some weeb friends, just invite them to watch this and laugh all along. That's all I can say about this anime. Thank you for reading my review.

Komi-san wa, Comyushou desu. 2nd Season (2022) The hype fades. I never really understood the hype in the first place and the first season was pretty good don't get me wrong, just here it sort of fades. Whilst the show is fun in its own way it tries to be super unique with the odd characters but all it does is do what every other school anime show does but with unusual conversation and actions. The result though is always the same. The art is good mostly, I still don't really like the way Komi is drawn nor do I have many characters, it sort of feels crude. I know it is based on the source but aesthetically it does nothing for me. Other shows modernise the style like Gundam etc. This isn't a show based on 1980s material. Komi herself can look good but mostly just sort of looks a bit odd, the cute side is nice though. The show does have at least one episode where it goes from like 720p right down to 240p in terms of quality. The show was never crisp but it also wasn't like that. The sound is the same as before, it is nice and doesn't really do anything more than it needs to do. It tries to be dramatic but it's like they haven't added the depth to the sound. Characters like I say try too hard to be unique but end up doing the same antics as everyone else in every other show. In the end, the show for me is now bang average, not good nor bad 5/10. There are other much more deserving shows out there.

"I... It's sort of blurry." -- the following is a brief paragraph or two on my overall thoughts, followed by spoilers about what's been improved and what's failed between seasons. reader discretion is advised. -- We're back in record time with another Season of Komi Can't Communicate, the show that has a major focus and character problem! My friend put it best, stating that where Komi succeeds is romance but it prefers to spend time failing at comedy. Where this season improved upon the last is by introducing a few characters that are actually likeable and having more moments between our two leads. The anchor that continues to prevent this hot air balloon from reaching the heights it should be is the continuation of, to be blunt, being unfunny, predictable, occasionally creepy, and tiresome. First off, I did enjoy this season more and that's partly due to the debut of Katai, Kometani, Katou, Sasaki, and Naruse. Katai is the obvious favorite, a quiet dude who looks like a yakuza member, being one of the first characters to show bias towards Tadano rather than Komi herself. With such a huge emphasis on everyone falling head-over-heels for the titular character, it's nice to see someone who has a preference that goes against the grain. The interactions between the two of them, and the occasional Komi added into the mix, are fun. There's also a bigger push for the friend group of Komi, Onemine, and Otori which features a lot of feel-good moments. Onemine was one of the characters from last season I actually found myself enjoying and not wishing to evaporate so any involvement by her is a plus. The romantic element is also given more light, makes sense, progression and all that. There aren't as many interruptions as there were in the first season. The umbrella moment at the end of an episode in S1 has neighbors now such as the snowman building, accidental meeting during night, bullet train, etc. As I previously mentioned, this season does romance so well and the most interesting aspect is that relationship... But then here's the problem: Komi-san wa, Comyushou desu wants to be funny. It wants to pass on the LOLs, the ROFLs, the LMAOs, and every possible acronym in-between. Yet, the issue still lies in the motivation for almost every side character being a want to interact with Komi. The majority of the supporting cast is a bunch of drones, a hivemind all thinking the same thing and wanting the same thing. The biggest offender, like last season, is Yamai. Her character hasn't changed at all, if anything I feel like her actions were even more rancid this time around. It's such a disappointment that other weak, prominent side characters from S1 like Agari were deservedly distanced from segments, but Yamai seems to still stick her nose into every episode. Other than her, the beacon of disgust, a lot of the other jokes don't pop or land. New bits such as a few guys imagining what ideal dates they could have with the girls in their class or the new Komi rivalry between Yamai and Nakanaka don't work. Time is spent on these barely two dimensional characters. Not everyone in the class needs to be given a cardboard personality, we have enough whacky kids, thank you! A bell-curve of a season. A pretty great middle part with higher highs but honestly lower lows. Laughed more this season than last. If we continue down this path, Komi Can't Communicate may actually reach the point of deserving the hype. More excited for the next one than I was in December.

Communication plays a vital role in human life. It helps clear the way to exchange information and knowledge with others and build relationships. The heroine Komi has difficulty communicating which is something I struggled with when I was a kid and I had to repeat a year because of my lack of communication skills. Season 2 of Komi kicks off where season 1 left but it goes way beyond the cognitive of Komi and Tadano, as their relationship becomes more precious to them. Both Komi and Tadano's characters grow exponentially and they try to help each other. They are getting a part of each other's lives but that is not the only good thing about the show. It also goes deeply into Komi's relationships with the supporting characters. Season 1 started with the introduction of the characters and gave them an introduction to Komi's life. Now that they're friends, the relationship must become stronger and evolve into something greater to which it executes very well. One of the new character introductions I enjoyed was Katai Kun's. The way he entered the classroom was just so funny and entertaining to watch. He brings a lot of hilarious moments that make us laugh.A hard-searching youngster that has a completely deep voice and feels unhappy due to the fact everybody is frightened of him, control to be fascinating and hilarious. The jokes are hilarious for sure, however, seeing the identical conduct again and again once more will become pretty tedious. The structure of the anime is the same as in season 1. Each episode has short stories that are presented together as a full episode. Komi Can't Communicate season 2 delivers more content and more fun interactions between the characters. It is blissful to see these characters enjoying their teenage high school lives and becoming something great.

If you didn't mean to read this review before watching Komi s1, just know that I love both seasons and do recommend them. Season 2 is simply a continuation of s1, and I have few complaints. It's fun, cute, and I've looked forward to watching it weekly, but I admit that Kaguya-sama s3 was my favorite this season. I noticed more frequently in s2 that Komi was being drawn inconsistently in random frames, which is not a big deal, but it was less noticeable to me in s1, so that's something to consider. Season 2 is also much more of a romance-focused show, which I have no complaints with, they're a very lovely pair. One problem I have however, is something I've also had with MHA, it's simply a lack of focus on building side characters. I don't connect very well with them--most of them have a single trope that never/barely changes, though I would understand if this is not the case in the manga. I get the sense though that side character development is outside of the creators' intentions. It's not particularly bad that focus is placed on Komi and Tadano, and patience is definitely a necessity as we watch their growth in real time, but it's nonetheless a little weird that everyone else, even Najimi literally never change. It's realistic though, this is a short time frame. I suppose it's just that I personally don't want a story to have side characters who never get to leave their status quo, which is why Ranking of the Kings is one of my favorites in contrast. It also doesn't help that these are all very unique characters, giving each of them an extra amount of potential to, well to be blunt, more interesting to me LOL. All of my reviews are just how I feel about the show in the moment after finishing, so don't feel inclined to take my critiques seriously, I don't take myself seriously writing these either. Komi-san is a sweet story that I would love to have more seasons of, especially with manga spoilers in my head.

As someone who's followed Komi's journey from the beginning, I was blown away by the show's consistent excellence. This season is a beautiful exploration of social anxiety, friendship, and personal growth. The animation is stunning, with vibrant colors and expressive character designs that bring the cast to life. But what truly sets Komi apart is its thoughtful storytelling. The show tackles complex themes like communication disorders, empathy, and self-acceptance with remarkable sensitivity. Komi's character development is particularly noteworthy. Her gradual progress from a silent, isolated student to a confident, expressive individual is genuinely inspiring. And the supporting cast? Absolutely lovable! From Tadano's unwavering support to Najimi's infectious energy, each character adds depth and warmth to the story. What resonated with me most, though, was the show's portrayal of small, everyday moments. A gentle touch, a kind word, or a simple gesture can change someone's life. Komi Can't Communicate reminds us that connection and understanding are within reach, even in the most challenging times. If you haven't already, do yourself a favor and watch this incredible series. Be prepared to laugh, cry, and reflect on the beauty of human connection. Season 2 is a triumph, and I eagerly await the next chapter in Komi's journey. 10/10, would recommend to anyone seeking a heartfelt, uplifting anime experience!

Second verse same as the first; if you liked Komi Can't Communicate Season 1 you'll like Season 2. If you didn't like Season 1 you won't like Season 2. "More of the same" can easily be used as an insult but I think in a lower stakes Slice of Life like this one it's actually a compliment. Season 2 keeps with the formula of Komi experiencing various different social difficulties and making new friends across an episode, rinse and repeat. However, the frequent introduction of new, strange students with different social problems than her keeps it fresh and fun. This isn't to say that I don't think there were improvements made. The animation seems better, the new characters were even more dynamic, and the jokes were funnier. I think it took what I liked in Season 1 and amplified it, making an even stronger end result. Slowly you see the fruits of character progress that is absolutely glacial but in a way I like. Komi and Tadano have grown a lot in many little ways and seeing their relationship very slowly come together is satisfying. It's also fun to watch the secondary cast change with them, for example I feel like the class at large has stopped putting Komi on a distant pedestal and instead she feels like a regular popular girl who actually has a lot of friends. It's very sweet. I also like the embellishment of the classmates forming relationships with each other outside of Komi and Tadano. All in all, great, cute little franchise. Will look forward to more.

Is it just me that found that this season felt very pointless... I truly enjoyed the first season! It had great character development and you got to see this unique relationship that grew from it. We got to learn more about each of the main characters and that was great. This season on the other hand felt like it was not really doing anything in regards to character development. It felt like the second season was just season one part two with little to no development. I think they might have phones it in on this season. The first second really did have all the foundation laid for true development between all the characters but all it did feel like was the entire second season was filler, nothing changed. I did expect more from this series but if they are planning on doing the same thing next season, then all that ground work for this great story would have been waisted. I will not be recommending this season only because nothing happened... other then the valentines ep and the ep MC being sick EP, nothing else happened and I bet you can could guess what happened in those ep without watching it lol.

*contains minor episode 11 spoilers* i just want to bring up something i don't see discussed much the plot aside, what happened to the animation? just beware that after episode 9 (by far my favourite, we get a lot of scenes of komi just having fun with new friends) the animation declines so much. some panels appear so distorted that it's genuinely disturbing. it's most noticeable in those chibi looking close ups and SIDE PROFILES. overall everything just seems janky and hastily put together. i'm hoping they fix it before the blu-ray is released atleast. they made a concerted effort to include as many characters for komi to "befriend" in episode 11. specifically these two characters who are facing some issues but after an encounter with komi, she magically resolves their problems. i found it overly predictable and repetitive as it happened back to back. overall season 2 definitely deteriorated from season 1 which was quite well received. the characters can be interesting at times but if you're watching the series for komi and tadano's relationship keep in mind that their romance is quite the slow burn, so don't get your hopes up too high.

Finally ! Komi Can’t Communicate Season 2 ! One of the most highly anticipated animes of the Spring 2022 season. I was a little late on it, but I had several other shows on my to watch list. However, I managed to finish up all 12 episodes pretty quickly. And what did I think? It was good. Not great. But good. I didn’t write a review for the first season, so either you can believe me when I say that I gave the first season an 8 or you can take a quick peak yourself on my list. I gave this season a 7. And I have my reasons why. Story - 8/10 The story and the layout of season 2 are pretty much the same as season 1. Komi is trying to achieve her goal of obtaining 100 friends, and she has her friends from the first season assisting her and going through everyday highschool life right alongside her. Each episode has about 3 different situations that Komi goes through alongside Tadano and the gang, shifting between chaos in the classroom, outings, meeting new people, etc. And within each one, Komi struggles and tries to adapt to the situation despite her communication disorder. A genius and adorable idea if handled correctly, which it was. Barely any issues despite your slower scenes and occasional lack of individuality. Art - 7/10 Just like season 1, I thought the art was nice. But there were a little more hiccups in season 2 with shifting animation quality and what not, especially in the last 3 episodes. Don’t get me wrong, it was still very pretty and pleasing to the eye, but season 1 was cleaner. Sound - 7/10 Sound was, once again, decent, but there was still a slight downgrade to season 1. I didn’t enjoy the season 2 op as much as the op from season 1. But the actual ost from the show itself was just as in enjoyable in both so I’m not gonna downgrade it that much Character - 6/10 Just like season 1, season 2 offered us interactions with several different characters both old and new. The different types of characters in Komi Can't Communicate is certainly something that I appreciate because of just how different everyone is. The fact that each character we come across has a different personality certainly makes way for entertainment… There wasn't exactly a problem with this idea as a whole per se…but season 2 was definitely more extreme in the character department than season 1 was. We of course have our old characters like Tadano and Komi. Zero problems here as I enjoyed them just as much as I did in season 1. Yamai (who was still a huge nutcase as always and was honestly a bit more creepy in this season than the last), Najimi who was, of course, hilarious and entertaining, etc. Now…the NEW characters were.…very weird. There were a few that I found to appreciate like the new class delinquent who almost has a communication disorder just like Komi, the two girls that joined Komi's group on their school trip to Kyoto, and the super sweet girl from episode 11. Aside from that…everyone else felt out of place. Their characters felt very forced to me and unnatural, even though personality is a necessity for a good character. I mean come on, we really got a look into the character of a female tour guide in episode 7. Totally unnecessary. In all honesty, I feel like the amount of new characters that we received in season 2 really took away from new connections we could have gotten between Komi and Tadano, as well as the other older characters from season 1. It was just a little too much compressed into 12 episodes Enjoyment - 7/10 I won't lie, I was expecting season 2 to be the same enjoyment level if not better than season 1, but it falls short for me a tiny bit. My reasonings from above pretty much explain why I gave the enjoyment a score of 7 and there's not much else I can say. I thoroughly enjoy the attempt that Komi Can't Communicate series tries to offer as a whole. The idea is great, the comedy aspect is good (if not a little excessive and weird at times *cough *cough thanks Yamai) and I love seeing Komi evolve each episode. Just like I said before, things felt a tiny bit squeezed together and a bit TOO excessive as far as people's obsession with Komi goes. But other than that, season 2 offered a decently fun time. Overall - 7/10 Despite everything, I thought this season of Komi Can't Communicate was a good one. I was highly anticipating it ever since I finished season 1 last December and I think it delivered to its fans fairly well, and I eagerly await to see what's in store for season 3.

Second season of komi, we can say that we see how he gets more friends, at times the animation kind of declines, then it stays within everything as normal. It is a very solid second season, it maintains all the high points of its first season, and it is adding a new cast of characters. The character development is very good, the soundtrack is excellent, it's very good this season they usually lower the level in the second seasons but luckily this time it didn't happen. Speaking with spoilers, this season we see how the love relationship of several very interesting characters progresses. I love how Komi talks little by little.

Communication Disorder: The science of understanding deconstructing and reconstructing matter. However it is not an all power art. In order to- wait that's the wrong monologue. I can't be the only one who was thinking it, though. Komi season 2 is more of everything you loved from the first season with several new characters and a bit of actual growth and development for the titular character. A couple overarching stories include a school trip to Kyoto or something (does it really matter?) and the valentines/white day arc, because of course there's got to be one. I like that during the trip they split Komi up from the regular cast, it was a good way to introduce a couple new characters who had basically been background set dressing up to that point, and to set up more homoerotic interaction between Tadano and Katai by having them paired up. That dynamic is hilarious, having the big delinquent looking guy slowly become gayer and gayer for protagonist. By the end Komi seems to be able to at least form complete sentences, albeit still very quietly, while talking to Tadano. It might not seem like much but it would have been super easy for them to just hard embrace the status quo and lean into her never being able to talk for comedic purposes. I think a big message of the show is overcoming the stereotypes placed on you. The running joke is that everyone's name is basically just a descriptor of their personality or idiosyncrasies, but it also seems big on pushing the characters out of those established bounds as much as possible and trying to give them character growth not just being boxed in to being nothing but a trope. Overall, 8/10

For a second season not that you can expect too much from 2nd seasons was good, it didn't bring much new form the 1st season so it felt more like the same thing which is fine. The pacing was kept the same as kind of slow as it feels with the entire show just with a few more romance themed events which is what you'd expect when the themes not romance but romance subtext. The comedy is fairly decent and keeps you enjoying alot of the show though the show does deviate from it and goes into slice of life of a school girl which for alot of people can get boring. So if anything it's not a bad 2nd season and is just purely there for people who enjoyed the 1st. Alot of what carries the anime is the expressions Komi makes and is also what made the manga very popular since it was very visually appealing although the multiple personalities that everyone has doesn't do the show much justice as alot of them are boring in my own opinion. Hopefully in the next instalment we'll get slightly more pressing situations and a stronger development between Komi and Tadano.

English. It is an anime that I really do not know what it wants to do, according to the trigger of the plot is that Komi has 100 friends but in truth that is not the focus, but more a love series and a series that you see eventually, if you did not see each chapter every week that came out it will cost you work to start it since nothing interesting happens in the entire anime. What shines the most is the animation since it has a great style and it feels refreshing compared to anime from the same era. In my case, I didn't like this one, the story is predictable and although they put in the social anxiety thing, they don't really give it so much relevance, it's just a trigger in the whole plot. To conclude I will say that this is a generic love anime that although it gives some interesting ideas, it does not give them continuity, entertaining but the anime has a lot of padding with subplots that do not go anywhere besides that they can become recurring.

Komi is Still Your God. If you’ve watched the first half or read the manga then I am delighted to tell you that the second half of Komi Can’t Communicate is still just as well written, funny and stunning as you’d expect… except for one caveat we’ll get to later. Komi is still adorable and totally incapable of properly talking to people, Tadano is still adorable and completely normal by the personality standards that surround him and their friends who all inhabit different jacked-up-to-11 slice of life, romcom anime character archetypes are still as hilariously weird and entertaining. The newly introduced classmates are all wonderfully presented. Katai, Narsue and Kometami are especially well introduced and memorable. OLM goes above and beyond when it comes to adapting the manga to anime. Dynamic camera angles, sakuga flourishes, wild music choices, it all adds the quality and truly makes the story of Komi Can’t Communicate fresh to those of us who have read the manga like a good anime adaptation should… except for one caveat… Like last season this was an easy run in for '10/10 practically perfect', but unfortunately there was a major drop in animation quality around episode 10 and 11 which I just can't get past. It was so jarring and so bad that episode 10 was almost unwatchable compared to the quality that viewers would’ve been enjoying up to that point. Episode 11 was a bit better, but still had rushed, jacky animation which really went into showing what an average adaptation of Komi could potentially look like. We don’t know for sure why this happened. I personally think that OLM had Covid outbreak considering Pokémon took a 2 week break, but because of the contract with Netflix they had to push whatever the animators could do out the door… which sucks. Like I said, I don’t know if thats what happened, but it probably wasn’t OLM’s fault. Though it’s story contents so still good, those two episodes are a blemish on what I was expecting to be an easy 10/10. However, it’s not the end of the world. The adaptation overall is still amazing and the last episode makes sure it reflects the standard of the series. I would still highly recommend it if you’re into your romcoms. 9/10 Amazing.

KOMI-SAN CAN'T COMMUNICATE 2nd Season For season 2 of Komi-san we're given even more of what made season 1 so great: wholesome moments, a wonderful and wild mixed bag of characters, and CHADano-kun and Komi-san. On top of that, season 2 begins to push Tadano and Komi's feelings for each other which adds a wonderful romantic layer to an already great show. STORY: 9/10 Komi-san's premise has always been unique and lovable. On the surface it is a standard high school slice of life, but add the aspect of Komi-san's social anxiety and her quest to make 100 friends and you have a fresh plot. What I loved about season 2 was the development of Tadano and Komi's feelings for each other. It added an extra layer to an already very solid plot that gets you even more hooked on such a sweet and wholesome tale. ART & SOUND: 9/10 There have been some clamor about how the animation quality has dipped this season, particularly in the later episodes. In all honesty, I would not have even noticed it if I had not heard of these comments. Once I did, however, I guess I was able to notice it slightly as I had my eye out for it. Maybe it was more use of the cute low-poly style that the show often uses rather than having more dazzling and gleaming moments like that of Komi-san in her gym uniform from season 1. Overall, I will not take it against season 2 as I would not have even noticed it if there were no complaints. The music is wonderful again particularly the ED (and its amazing visual). CHARACTERS: 10/10 The show is headlined, of course, by Tadano and Komi. I don't think I need to explain any further about how wonderful they are individually and how much greater they are together. Tadano continues to be an absolute chad and just a great and lovable character while Komi remains the adorable and heartwarming sweetheart that she is. However, many shows can have a great leading duo, but what sets Komi-san apart from other slice of life/romcoms is the amazing set of supporting characters. With the main goal of the show for Komi to accumulate 100 friends, you would expect we would meet a plethora of different characters and we have met a lot so far. What's so special is how amidst the many characters we have met, each of them are unique with regards to their character and their relationship with Komi. Take for example, we have the chaotic trio of Najimi, Yamai, and Nakanaka to provide the wild and crazy fun while we have characters like Agari, Onemine, and Otori who are just charming and calming characters. Komi-san also provides each character with their own little segment/arc where we are introduced to them and discover how they eventually befriend Komi. All in all, the many crazy, charming, and wholesome characters of Komi-san is definitely what sets this show apart for me. ENJOYMENT: 9/10 I love this show and it is hard to hide. From having one of the best pilot episodes to Komi and Tadano's heartfelt moment in the latest finale, each episode is just so fun and relaxing to watch. No moment or episode ever feels draggy as it always just feels light and fluffy like a cotton candy. Overall: 9/10 Season 2 of Komi-san Can't Communicate continues to deliver more of what made the first season so great and adds on it with the growing development between Tadano and Komi. While I feel that season 1 may still have a slight edge over this season, this was definitely no disappointment capped by an extremely sweet finale between our two leads that has you so excited for what's next in store as they move up a grade.

I don't know what happens in the manga, I don't know how good the manga is that somebody says the anime should be better, but the anime this season of Komi-san is good. The first season showed us the cuteness, and a little romance, so it was kind of boring. But the second one has much better things, it still has the cuteness and romance, the romance is expressed better in this season, it also has the hilarity that the first one had failed to make. Overall, Komi-san season 2 is not a so great anime, but it's fine to watch. It would be sad if it doesn't reach the 8.0 score.

The list is getting closer to 100. Woo! Another one of my favorite romcom comes to an end. Komi season 2 is everything I loved from season 1 gets upgraded with a whole lot more spices. As a romcom, this new season started to shift more towards romance, and I was down for it all the way. There were numerous moments, subtle and direct, that built romance between Tadano and Komi. I could feel myself heating up in excitement at these sweet and kawaii moments. The side characters again provided the majority of the comedy. I didn’t realize that the characters’ names are all based on their personalities or relationship to Komi. There’s more friends, each with different exaggerated traits, that cracked me up. The old characters from season 1 became more exaggerated, especially Yamai. Not only this, the side characters again worked amazingly to boost Komi as a character. Komi became more interesting and cute. The journey she is still going through becomes more investing. Overall, Komi Can’t Communicate keeps getting better and more adorable. Looking forward to her reaching her goal of 100 friends in season 3. 8.5-9/10

The second season is the same as the first season. The main and side characters all get lots of screen time and behave the same way as before, just in new situations. A few new side-characters are introduced, but they're not very relevant to the overarching story. It's all the same awkward comedy with some light romance on top. If that's what you want, then the second season is great. However I expected more. To me the comedy had worn off after the first season. Romance naturally takes over as the main plot, since Komi's goal to make 100 friends was a trivial matter to begin with, given her almost supernatural popularity. So I expected character development and some light romance. A little bit does happen in this regard, but not nearly enough to be worth an entire season. Many episodes are just filler to explore the side-characters. Komi's anxiety also remains a mystery. The show gets a lot of things right about social anxiety disorder, like the constant self-doubts, irrational suspicions towards others, difficulty to communicate and brooding over past events. It's missing how physically exhausting socializing is when you have that condition, but that's trivial I guess. More importantly, I never understood why Komi can't speak at all. It's not something you commonly see in real life. Komi must have been through something truly awful to be so scared out of her mind that she can't speak at all in most situations. So I expected to see some of Komi's family history in season 2, but the show never touches on her trauma at all, probably because it doesn't want to show anything dark. However riding on a mental health condition for comedic relief without highlighting that it is rooted in something that isn't funny at all feels a bit distasteful.

I think I started the show because the idea of a socially awkward girl trying to find her own voice and make a 100 (!) friends sounded interesting and fun. Many aspects, like where she wanted to ask a question but was too shy or embarrassed to do it, or when she was overthinking her actions and second guessing herself and losing sleep over her thoughts, and when she tried her best to say yes to others to get involved in their shenanigans even if that 'yes' was communicated through notes, all that and much more was what I found a bit relatable and what I liked a lot about the show. The characters grew on me and Najimi's voice actor did a great job in making her (him?) sound hilarious. I also loved all the pun-names of all the characters, specially Tadano Hitohito xD It was a little slow in many parts, specially where the female lead made it look like she had a trauma of not being able to speak at all, rather than of being anxious. Even after she managed to be friends with people for months she stuck to her notes which was annoying a bit tbh. But overall a cute show.
