Why Raeliana Ended up at the Duke's Mansion

I actually really like the story like many here the only problem with the anime is it’s animation . I know it probably had an small budget etc but still some scenen were so painful to watch like in the ball , they only animated the characters with voice lines . Although I can understand why they didn’t it would just have made the scene so much better . Now I have read the manhua and it’s great but as someone who has read it there is something I have to say about the anime . The thing with this manhua is that whale who animated the manhua often didn’t paint the background, or if there was one it was cgi . I actually think it was great of whale to do this but that is one thing that the animation need to understand is that you can’t always only draw background . when whale drew the background it always made it pop and get more colors but in the anime the colors get very stiff sometimes. Still there is many positive things about this anime adaptation. First if it didn’t happen I probably wouldn’t have read the manhua and I’m sure it isn’t just me who got introduced to the manhua in this way . Second it’s character- I think most of the characters are good whriten especially realiana . But there are some characters like Adam that never got time to improve as an character that said dosn’t mean that he is an mad character he just never got his time to improve in the manhua . That’s said if u like romance anime (manga Manhua etc) then you will probably like this although if u have to choose between the anime and the manhua then I would 100 times over say the manhua . Thank you for reading my review I’m not very good and making one and I know my English isn’t the best (it’s my second language) , And I know some things I said here was controversial but still to my defense I’d like to say , no. (Also I’m not sure if bringing up Adam never getting an arc is spoiler so if u think it is , I’m terribly sorry ) Also I realized that it was manhwa not manhua (Also what I mean with background is not that whey are white but if u have read the manhua then u will probably know what I mean )

I read the entire manhwa before watching this anime. Although the plot is quite predictable, each episode has been explained more or less. The anime follows the plot very closely, so you don't need to worry too much. Animation and sound combine extremely harmoniously. Each setting will have its own background music. The character design is very nice, although near the end of the movie is a bit stiff... But overall, the animation is still pretty good. The only thing that is salvaged, I personally think is the seiyuu of each character. I look forward to a season 2 to fully enjoy the work.

Its a good romantic series and i think you wont get bored or anything.it has fantastic storyline and it will keep you interesting. Hope to see the second season soon..... Well it was not unique i know that there are others like this plot but its also true that some differences that this story have will make you watch it till the end. Characters are just good.what i am trying to say is that characterization is not the strong suit of this anime because the specially feeble characters are strong in this anime so good luck.the art style is just good according to me.

I was very pleasantly surprised with this anime. Isekai is probably one of my least favorite genre but I do love a good reverse harem, shoujo romance anime. There were a few issues I had, being that it felt too short and left me wanting more right away, and that the plot was very slow. I understand that it's technically slice of life, following Raeliana and Noah as their relationship develops, but none of the actual plot seemed to move forward. I can only hope that they move it a bit faster in the second season. This leaves the Story rating for me at a 7/10. As for everything else.... Art/Animation 7/10: The art was beautiful. Specifically how the hair was drawn was very nice and the close ups of their eyes mixed with the experimentation of the lighting...immaculate. however the animation itself felt very rigid and could have been better. Characters 8/10: Each character felt unique and interesting both in design and writing. Sountrack 6/10: Pretty generic overall but I did really like the opening and ending songs. Comedy 9/10: I particularly enjoyed how blunt and silly some of the humor was, especially after some more serious moments. I actually laughed a bit which is rare for anime like this. Overall Rating 8/10 Honestly looming forward to more of this

More of a regency drama/political thriller with complex character than most. Honestly, I didn't expect to finish it but I kept going and found it to be somewhat unique and refreshing take on quite a tired subgenre of isekai. This is a bit of a complicated show with many moving parts, but Raeliana is clearly the star. She's hard to like but easy to understand. She's not the smartest, and in an anime about everyone playing political 4 dimensional chess it's abundantly clear she's mostly out of her depth. Her saving grace is her determination not to die. She's a joy of a character with a bit of a gift for improvisation and a touch of luck. I can see some people getting frustrated as towards the end she gets locked into certain ideas which seem irrelevant to what's actually happening, but she's quite a single minded character so this is part of the 'hard to like, easy to understand' I was talking about. The duke being the other major character who, sadly, is a little more like your normal trope of such 'cruel/cold characters'. His staff alleviate that though, as they're an interesting bunch. If you love getting all your questions answered and tied up in a neat little bow, well, tough. It's no spoiler to say this is classic Regency stuff, the political machinations and weird 4d chess doesn't stop, everyone just changes where they are on the board. I don't normally like this stuff but the 2nd half gets wacky in places so perhaps I just felt relieved to go back to that. Give it a shot even if you're into any form of mystery/political thriller or even just a weird romance story.

Standard (quite weak) romance, with Isekai unsure why. Apparently, Realiana knows something from the story, but she only uses it three times? The plot itself has some moments of intrigue or political intrigue, but it is just used as a backdrop element of the setting. It's especially disappointing because the romance begins with intrigue and political gamesmanship. If it's a romance, the characters must be essential, right? - Noah is your typical 'Prince Charming,' and that's about it. - Realiana has two states (plus an optional third): - Princess in Trouble - the state in which she is saved by Noah - A fierce woman - where she demonstrates her ability to manage herself - She occasionally enters a third condition, which I don't fully comprehend: "Oh no, I've spoiled the novel, he should be with..." The most serious issue I have with these individuals is that they are Noah is a stereotypical husbando with no perspective, and Realiana appears three different types of behavior as though she roll them for each session. This also makes the romance appear more like a theatrical performance or causes the spectator embarrassment rather than displaying any chemistry between the characters. The rest of the secondary characters, despite their limited screen time, present themselves well and demonstrate that they were written by someone who tried. To summarize, it is correct visually and acoustically, but I would regard the story or the characters as a soap opera for dinner, just to have something playing in the background.

I’m not typically into the romance anime genre, but I found this surprisingly good, with enough mystery and intrigue to keep me wanting more. Spring ‘23 had some of the best overall music in so many animes all at once, and this one was no exception. I was particularly impressed with how they used the ed theme as a transition between the ending of each episode and the closing credits, and what a great ed it was! At it’s heart, this anime is an isekai. Raeliana is reborn into the world of her favorite novel as a girl who dies, which acts as the catalyst for the novel’s two main leads to meet. She, on the other hand has different plans. A very similar story to this was done just last year in “I’m the Villainess” which was fun, but I enjoyed this one more. Great banter between the two leads without so much the cheesiness one finds in this type of show. The only disappointment is not having any kind of real conclusion. There is a great sense of foreboding waiting for the novel’s female lead to appear, and the mystery of why Raeliana’s life is in jeopardy and the accompanying air of danger it sets, creates a certain amount of anticipation that never actually pays off. Hopefully, there will be additional seasons to remedy this, I will be there to watch.

I binged this in one sitting, I was hooked by episode 1. I was hoping that it would have a second season or at least a confirmation of one, but there is not. So I am reading the manhwa now. I really loved the art style and animation, though I will be honest there are some scenes that looked like they were drawn in about 10 minutes, but I hope if a season 2 happens, that it improves. I really enjoyed the characters of the main cast. Raeliana was phenomenal, I absolutely love a female lead that can be smart and cunning, even rude and demanding, without seeming like a tyrant. Noah was amazing to watch as he grew into himself and I loved watching him slowly open up to Raeliana. I fell in love with him just as much as he fell in love with his new Fiance. The dynamics between the two leads are so fun to watch, going from cunning, then doting as a farce, then slowly opening up to each other. I was just enamored. Adam was adorable, I loved his moments helping Raeliana and the duality to his character, going from cold, stoic and a knight, to a soft, helpful, sweet-tooth having man. Big fan of Heika as well. All the grandpa moments made me laugh so hard. I like that you can see the thought within the characters, and how all of their actions seem fitting to their situations. I really truly loved this series, it works really well as an isekai, considering what happens when you take someone's place. I also am in love with their blooming romance. I am a total sucker for hate to love.. It is so cute. Absolutely reccommend as a romance or isekai.

Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke's Mansion is a classical romance-driven fantasy with mystery elements by blending court intrigue, character dynamics, and self-aware storytelling. The story centers on Eunha Park, a modern young woman who suddenly finds herself reincarnated as Raeliana McMillan, a minor character in a novel who is fated to die early. Armed with knowledge of the story’s plot, Raeliana navigates her precarious new life in a noble estate and ultimately becoming entangled with Duke Noah Wynknight. Their relationship develops from cautious pragmatism into mutual trust, marked by humor, tension, and romantic undercurrents. The narrative thrives on character interplay and strategic maneuvering. Raeliana’s sharp wit, self-preservation instincts, and knowledge of her “fate” drive her decisions, whilst Noah’s enigmatic and often stoic demeanor creates a compelling foil. Secondary characters, including servants, nobles, and other potential suitors contribute to both plot development and social intrigue, which forming a complex web of alliances, misunderstandings, and subtle rivalries. Each arc blends lighthearted domestic scenes, romantic tension, and suspenseful revelations by creating a layered experience that balances emotional beats with narrative propulsion. However, the story exhibits certain narrative limitations. Plot pacing can be uneven with some arcs drawn out through repetitive scheming and extended misunderstandings that slow momentum. Even if Raeliana’s internal growth and cleverness are emphasized, character development for Noah and secondary figures is sometimes superficial that letting their motivations partially unexplored. The worldbuilding, though aesthetically detailed in terms of social hierarchy and estate life, rarely expands beyond the confines of the mansion and immediate political circles, which limiting the sense of a broader living world. Additionally, reliance on genre tropes such as arranged proximity, misunderstandings for tension, and subtle power imbalances can occasionally make conflicts feel predictable and formulaic, though Raeliana’s subversive awareness mitigates this in part. Visually, in adaptations, the series benefits from elegant character designs, intricate costumes, and lavish interiors that reinforce its romantic and historical setting. However, certain animations, background details, and action sequences may lack dynamism that leading to some moments visually static. Music and voice acting generally support the tone effectively, but they rarely elevate the narrative beyond its established emotional beats. Overall, Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke's Mansion succeeds as a clever, character-focused romance that engages through wit, emotional tension, and strategic maneuvering. Its strengths lie in Raeliana’s agency, humor, and the slow-burn development of her relationship with Noah, combined with a satisfying blend of suspense and romantic intrigue. Yet, uneven pacing, limited secondary character depth, and reliance on familiar tropes temper its impact. The series is most rewarding for anyone drawn to romance with intelligence, subtle tension, and playful subversion of expected narrative outcomes, while those seeking expansive worldbuilding or consistently high-stakes drama may find aspects of the story comparatively constrained. Anyway, keep in mind that no opinion is ever purely objective, and every perspective remains open to discussion. Even so, each viewpoint still holds its own value. If you happen to see things differently, simple mutual respect is more than enough. That same respect is the spirit behind this reflection as well. Wishing everyone a peaceful day ahead, and thank you for taking the time to read.

I can't really tell what this anime was if it was bad or good or just something else While this anime didn't have any actually bad things that i can point out in this review, it also didn't have good things, for me this anime was really mid i can't tell watching this was a waste of time but neither i can tell it was well spent, so this review isn't for telling if you should watch or not, i think it's just to try to understand it, well the only advice i can give is to not expect a masterpiece (which i think no one will be expecting but who knows) neither to expect an bad anime, i have read other reviews on this and didn't found anything really conclusive so try it for yourself and take your own conclusions

I was pleasantly surprised with this anime, even though it did frustrate me in some parts. I liked the reincarnation part of this anime, especially because I thought it added to the main female protagonist and allowed us to understand her better. I thought the male protagonist was just so good looking and appealing in my opinion. I liked how the story was not as straight forward as you would assume it would be, and I liked the hints of romance here and there. I honestly wish their was more romance and spice in this, if there was I would have ranked it higher. Low spice level - if you like this anime watch 7th loop its similar but better

As a typical anime watcher who have tried to watch bigger titles, but ended giving up because of the slow plots. i developed a love, for short and fullfilling animes, although there are some good ones out there like: moshuko tensei SAO 1-14 etc. Most of them are short for a reason, so i ended up watching the same stuff again and again, and even watched the whole Sao series, along some other quite longer titles. I first saw The reason why raeliana ended up at the dukes mansion on youtube shorts, and after some time i ended up benchwatching all of it at the moment(6 episodes) The first episode where quite fullfilling, getting introduced into the whole thing and Noah was getting me hooked, and gave me the interest to se where it was going although episode 2 where quite boring and not as fulfilling as the first, it kinda set back the whole story so we could get a longer and dragged out peice of material. As i mentioned earlier im not the biggest fan of long dragged shows, i didnt mind this at all, as episode 3 picked up fast with the first episode and laying out some nice foundation for the future episodes, and it wansnt really boring at any point as Noah and Raeliana had a nice conversation giving us more depth to the two characters, while also slightly introducing new ones as well Ill speak of episode 4-6 as one part/season or episode. We are finally getting to action getting some really good laid out moments, both the speaking and action where a peak in the series for me. The characters get even more laid out for me, and we get to experience the excepional chemestry between Noah and Raeliana, while getting to know more to the world and its people. Now to the later episodes witch i will break in three parts. first we get to see another event Noah and Raeliana are atending to. This event gets me to finally see them as a couple for short moments, its quite romantic, witch i love as a teenage boy, so overall this event was quite fun to watch, it led to the next part i would like to talk about. We get seperated for Noah for a bit witch is sad, but altso important for the later evnts in this series, witch i can say after reading the whole manwha, after 1 season was finished airing. Of course we get to see noah again, where i see a demonstartion of his love for her, and in that a nice made moment, with i must say some incredible art. this next part is kinda the autro with no specifik events. Here we finally have them laid out as characters, ive grown to like them, even thow they maybe arent the best written, i must say they really hold a place in me(i really like their personal traits but its my preferences so keep that in mind) I dont think the last episodes where broring at all i think they wraped the series good up, they were altso kinda sad for me because it was going to an end, they made space for a season 2 id say, And i will say this was some peak anime for me! Overall i really ended up liking this anime, witch led to me altso reading the manwha, and its funny to me because i dont usually read manga/manwha its really good to with some peak, but id think ill be mutch happier if it got a season 2 3, and its special episodes in 1 extra episode in season 3. This made me wear polos because of Noahs personality and style. I liked almost everything and second of it, plus the music in there is really good too, it has it peak scenes, and doesent end up being to boring, at least i dont think so. I dont know how i can further i express my love for the characters and scenes, so this was all i had, i hope someone agres. This is hard for me but Ill give it a: 8,5 To be fair and keep the sloppy animation and other flaws in mind, that didnt stick out to me, and my lack of comparisons.

I loved it more than I thought. For an isekai it was really good. Besides I didn’t like the lazy animation sometimes. Characters, which were not relevant in the story, didn’t even have a face… in large groups of people this really threw me off. Besides the title of the episodes are really strange… I don’t like them. I don’t like the name of the anime (it gives it a really superficial first impression). But besides all this, the storyline is good, the characters are well written. It is a really wholesome love story and I hope there will be a second season. I also like that there was no force in the romance itself. None of the main characters was forced into this relationship. The main character is cute, lovely and smart and the male protagonist is a real gentleman.

Man, when did Korean webcomics start getting popular? Enough so that they actually get animated? I have no clue. I have to admit, my first exposure to the long strip Korean webcomics, or webtoons as they're called, was when I first heard about one called The Monster Duchess and the Contract Princess (Officially localized by Tapas as The Monstrous Duke's Adopted Daughter), and first reading it, I had a really hard time adjusting to the fact that every chapter was just super long strips with a LOT of space in between panels. But I liked the series enough that I read more of it, though I stopped because MangaDex got hacked and I couldn't read more of it. But since then, I've started dipping my toes in more of them and learning more. One such webtoon, Why Raeliana Ended Up At The Duke's Mansion, is one of many that got adapted into an anime this past year. It pretty much follows the premise of a lot of reincarnation isekai shows such as My Next Life as a Villainess and Mushoku Tensei with a more openly shoujo bent. I'm not really sure why I decided to watch this one, as I didn't have any interest in doing so previously. I was probably bored or something. But having actually watched the anime now, maybe I was right to initially avoid Raeliana, because...to be blunt, for as much as this show claims to be more interesting than it is, it's actually flat-out boring. And if the anime is this bland, I can only pray the webcomic its based on is better. So what's the story? College student Rinko Hanasaki (Original Korean name Eunha Park, for some reason Japan changed her nationality) is down on her luck, but just as she finds she got accepted into a college she applied to, she's pushed off a building by a mysterious assailant, which leads to her death. But she finds herself reincarnated in the body of a character from a novel she once read. Things get complicated when she realizes just who she's been reincarnated as: Raeliana MacMillan, the daughter of a nouveau riche baron whose untimely death by the hands of her fiance triggers the plot of said novel. Determined not to face death a second time, she tries everything she can to break up with said fiance, but all attempts fail. Remembering one particular plotline in the novel, Raeliana decides to blackmail one Duke Noah Wynknight into a contractual marriage so she can finally save herself. Threatened by Raeliana's knowledge, Noah plays along and gets engaged to her. Seriously, reading the premise for this, I really should like this more than I do. A female MC who takes action to prevent her demise within the constraints of a fairly well-developed fantasy setting? I should be all over this! Especially since Raeliana isn't the passive, swooning girl who just accepts her fate like her contemporaries tend to do...but I'm not, and there's so many things about Raeliana as a show that just don't work. One of the biggest things is the animation, which really doesn't do the story justice. Raeliana is one of those shows where the still shots look good, but whenever something has to move, it looks either janky or weird, or extremely limited and stiff, usually the latter. The backgrounds are fine, but for some reason, the faces of people in the background are grayed out, the show seems to go out of its way to avoid animating anything resembling movement such as sword fighting, and there are several instances where horses and carriages are animated in really bad CGI that make no effort to blend seamlessly with the 2D animation whatsoever, and in general are really jarring and out of place. Plus, the characters' facial expressions have no variety to them, ranging from either deadpan or dull surprise. Seriously, the company hired to animate this were not the best people on the job. A story like this should have been done by either Wit Studio or Kyoto Animation. If done by the latter, it probably would have looked as good as Violet Evergarden. I didn't find the soundtrack to be very memorable either. I couldn't tell you the first thing about it. Sadly, the characters are where Raeliana really suffers as a show. I found Noah in particular to be very irritating because other than being handsome and unnecessarily smarmy, he's about as memorable as styrofoam. Most of his scenes consist of looking stoic, or irritating Raeliana with his constant vague, lifeless dialogue that either confuses her because he can't be bothered to explain things clearly or makes her blush, that's it. He has nothing in the way of depth or personality to him other than being a manipulative douche who riles up Raeliana when she calls him out on not communicating properly. He almost feels like a teenage girl's idea of what an ideal love interest should be like than an actual person with strengths, weaknesses, depth, and so on. Half the time I wanted to punch him in the face because of his insufferable smarminess. Plus, the story claims that all the girls want to marry him, but I can't fathom what they even see in Noah to even want anything to do with him. Seriously, I'm playing a visual novel called Jack Jeanne right now that has much better, more romantic, more three-dimensional, and more developed love interests than Noah could ever hope to be. I don't know what he's like in the manhwa, so for all I know he might be better there, but I don't know when I'll get around to reading it. None of the other side characters do anything for me either, other than Ansley. I actually liked her and wish she could have done more. The villains are all so stereotypically evil that they might as well have come out of Saturday morning cartoons, with Vivian being the most obvious one with her creepy obsession with Noah and wanting to ruin Raeliana's life because how dare she even so much as talk to the guy she has a crush on. It especially sucks that I can't like Why Raeliana Ended Up At The Duke's Mansion because Raeliana as a character is perfectly fine! I would have been all over her if the animators and story really bothered to do her justice, but even here, they royally screw up. Again, I haven't read the manhwa so I can't comment on how she is there as opposed to the adaptation, but there are several things about Raeliana that I do like. She's proactive, she's smart, she wants to take charge of her own destiny, she's nice to the people she cares about and treats the servants like people, and she doesn't fall for any of Vivian and her posse's petty middle school clique antics...she's everything I wish Elianna from Bibliophile Princess should have been! But a lot of Raeliana's inner monologues feel like they're trying to create the illusion that she's smart rather than actually bothering to have her show why she's smart. Plus, since this is a reincarnation isekai, I wish we could have had some insight on who Rinko was as a person before she got reincarnated as Raeliana, but we know absolutely nothing about Rinko, what she was like, what her hobbies were, and so on, which makes me question why this story even has to be a reincarnation isekai to begin with. They could do away with the whole reincarnation thing and nothing would be lost because they don't really bother to do anything with it here. Even the premise, which really could have been good, suffers from not making much sense. A lot of the politics in this show consist of people being catty to one another, and the mysteries of who's doing what can be easily figured out by anyone over the age of 12 because the culprits may as well have flashing neon lights over their heads. Furthermore, because Raeliana is 12 episodes long, it doesn't cover the whole manhwa, ending on a pretty open ending that's pretty blatant with its "Read the manhwa!" message with nothing it established being resolved in any way. This whole anime feels so stiff and workman-like, it's in dire need of some flair and life to make it more interesting than it is. There's a good premise and good characters in here just begging to break out of this st…

Animation while not flashy is quite nice. There are some fairly impressive scenes, but again, not a lot of flash. Very good looking backgrounds and the characters are drawn quite well most of the time. Characters, while not the deepest, are intriquing and quite likable. The story is very good, some decent world building, and a very good plot that keeps things fairly fresh. However, I do feel the inclusion of monsters, magic and to a lesser extent isekai, is pretty unnecessary. Pacing, other than being just a bit slow in the beginning, is very good and kept me engrossed. Not a huge fan of the choice for Raeliana's voice actor, but otherwise I think the casting was quite good. Overall performance while not bad, not really all that impressive either. Soundtrack is superb, thanks Keiji Inai. Eds are pretty decent as well, and I'd say the intro is alright, but a little bit of a misfit in my opinion. Overall I really enjoyed this show. It's a pretty cute fantasy rom com, with a lot to like. 7.7/10

Right lets get into it, Our MC is isekai'd into the side character Raeliana from a novel she enjoyed, the only problem is that Raeliana is fated to die as that is what starts the story for the protagonists of the novel. Raeliana however seeks to push against this fate and use her knowledge of the story and her wits to avoid her intended end. So straight away yes, this is using several tropes that should be familiar to many who have watched these kinds of romance anime Reincarnation, uses other life knowledge to avoid bad end, gets involved with dark haired, brooding, intimidating, slightly sadistic, duke, where of cause romance starts to blossom. So yes there are some familiar tropes at play, but the reality is that didn't bother me, it did enough to try and keep things fresh, with one exception, the Duke's personality, as said, his entire character is an overused trope that is so overdone, right down to the vocal performance, like can't we have something different, please? I liked the other characters, we could have probably done with a bit more of them, and time developing them, when it went into a bit of an exposition dump to do some last minute character development I knew there were issues, and I wish I could say that only happened once. I will say that an issue it has is it had decided on a clear finishing point for season 1, which then makes it feel like it then tried to cram in a lot before reaching that specific story point, so a lot of things happen within the story, we get a lot of characters, but none of it is given the full amount of time it is needed to really breathe. Only then would it have been able to been able to better develop the characters, and also feel less like we're jumping from place to place with the story. Strangely, even with the pacing issues where certain things feel rushed, the series is a slow burner, the romance is slow burning, probably a bit too slow burning, it feels like there is a background story that is meant to be slow burning in the background, but nothing really happens with it, and the political stuff ends up getting forgotten about and is just some background thing. The plots and intrigue when present are a nice added bonus to the story, I wish they had more of a presence, but we have all these plots and questions that are unanswered, and what it all ends up coming down to in the end is... We need a second season. Season 1 doesn't feel a complete experience, it's not a satisfying ending because there are still open questions, there is much to wrap up, so for it to end where it has. I have mixed feelings on this one, because without a second season I don't think I can recommend it. There was much I enjoyed about this one, it is a series I enjoyed in the moment, I thought it was good, even if it wasn't a stand-out, for the most part I liked Raeliana as a character, in many ways I thought it was decent, I was happy for it to be a satisfactory romance, but the lack of a clear ending let it down.

I like the story and the close up art. The story itself is like any isekaid anime but it's my first time watching someone that get isekaid have family. The art is fitting for this anime, in some scene the art is really beautiful and just captivating, some close up shot is beautiful enough to be a wallpaper. I feel like the protagonist have that usual protagonist stuff, the naive, always see good in people but she also have the realistic thoughts once in a while that is refreshing to see. But when it come to the animations especially when they do a wide shot on the movement it's kinda wonky. For the first episode you would probably notice some movement that looked weird and then as the episode grow you noticed it even more. If you like a well animated anime you probably wouldn't like this but if you can handle a few wonky scene here and there I think you would enjoy it.

I should preface this by saying that I normally wouldn’t give such a high rating to a genre that is so saturated and, unfortunately, often filled with low-budget anime. However, among the many recent reincarnation/romance anime, this is, in my opinion, one of the best and definitely worth watching. The characters, especially the protagonists, are not the usual bland, personality-less figures.. for once, he is not the typical weak, slightly dumb doormat, and she is not the perpetual damsel who whines because she isn’t the “main character” of the story. There are other interesting characters with potential as well, even though, as always, it’s difficult to fully develop them in genres like this, which focus mainly on the protagonists who, by divine grace, do not fall in love ten seconds after meeting each other. hurrà I don’t want to praise it blindly, because it obviously has flaws that are more or less tolerable. At times it is slower and more predictable, but it alternates these moments with others where the story picks up again quite well. If we talk about animation well I’m always disappointed when I see such a ridiculous use of 3D. It’s understandable when the budget is low, but it’s also avoidable. Instead of putting those creepy figures in the background, they could have just drawn a couple of faces, even very simply :D if it was really necessary, because those “shadows” honestly look like dark entities haha The same goes for the 3D: if you don’t want to animate people (or those poor horses) in the background, just don’t include them, or use fewer frames to show people as background presence, even if they move more slowly. As a viewer, that doesn’t bother me at all. I much prefer that to animated mannequins. Overall, I would recommend this one a thousand times over others I’ve seen recently. My rating is more supportive and emotional, because within the crowded field of this genre, it holds up very well.

Just as she gets her acceptance text someone pushes her off of the roof. As she rapidly approaches street level she remembers how the shaman said that her future will be cut short. "I was fated to die young." What's this? She doesn't belong here. /HERE/ is inside a book ~ the last novel that she read! She has been reincarnated into another world! Raeliana is now her name. Raeliana is a /fictional/ character. This shouldn't be possible! Actually, her situation is pretty sweet. Daddy's an oil baron. She lives in a mansion. Her little sister is adorable and just loves her, and she is strikingly beautiful. There's one problem. It's a biggin. Her character, per the book, is going to die very soon. "Over My Dead body," she grits teeth & almost growls. Adapted from a Manhwa (a South Korean web novel written by Milcha), WREU@TDM is a 2023 release of 12 23-minute English dubbed episodes. I like to watch with the closed captioning on. This gave me a chuckle because the female lead's name is captioned homophonically as "Ray Liotta", but she's "Ray lee 'an ah". When the last episode ended, I was in shock. There's a lot of story left to be told, and it doesn't look like there's any intention to make a S2. I found a link online to read the manga, and this is the first time I've ever been tempted to go and do that. This is a special show It's her fiance that is going to poison her. He's been slipping arsenic into her tea. In the book, the heroine, who is BEATRICE, /not Rae/, ends up puttin the 🆔 her friend Raeliana's murderer. She returns from Europe after Rae's death and figures out everything. Rae doesn't like that storyline. She prefers living. She's decided to change things. The families agreed on the engagement. Rae doesn't have much choice in the matter. Telling someone he is poisoning her would probably end up landing her in an asylum. She's stuck. She attempts to get Brooks to cancel the engagement, but it doesn't matter how she acts. He's determined to move forward. When she becomes more direct, so does he. ‘Your family's nouveau-riche. You need me, I don't need you. Your company can't grow any further without my title. Good luck trying to get rid of me’! He said something like that. For a moment, his true colors came through. (Before ep1's close, we learn that Brooks was completely lying when he said that he didn't need her. He's under threat of death and financial ruin himself. He desperately needs to marry her). It's time for a strategy change. Rae turns her sights to the novel's protagonist, Wynknight Noah. Even for a cartoon, he's a good looking guy. Noah is sometimes next in line to the throne, when he's not in trouble. “He's as two-faced as they come,” Rae tells us. She would know, she read all about it. She knows that the Nobles are desperately looking for the Royal Seal. They can't pass anything into law until they find it. Knowledge is power, and she's literally read the book on this world, which was full of cogent and vital information she can exchange. At that evening's soiree, Rae approaches Noah and proposes a deal that involves the royal seal. His interest peaked immediately. Right then, that bum of a fiance approaches and tries to peel her away. She boldly takes a step to Noah and tells Brooks that they've fallen in love. To her shock, Noah goes along with it. The footman comes and collects her as the family is leaving, so the evening's over. Noah looks over to his attendant and orders that Rae and Brooks both be watched. Early the next morning, the maid wakes Rae to tell her that the Duke is here to see her! There's some back-n-forth, but she lets him know that she knows some stuff. She drew up a contract. He will pose as her fiance for 6 mos. She will assist him. Plus, she will keep his secret. Their deal ensures that she will never spill the beans - she swears. By the end of ep2, she's on her way to the Duke's Mansion. Why didn't she think it through more? She has to move in with him! It's part of the royal protocol: She needs bride training. Not only that, but she's got a scary, but silent, albino bodyguard with a death stare (we finally get to hear him talk in ep7. To himself. Non-vocally, Inside his own head). The Duke is ALL-IN on this ruse. The plot reminds me of the superb 🇨🇳show The Romance of Tiger and Rose-9.8. The FL, an author, is having trouble with her script & even fights with the lead actor over it. He surmises that she's never been in love and he also thinks her script is misogynistic. She writes until she passes out over the weekend trying to make adjustments in time to meet her deadline, and wakes up inside her own story. When she wakes up, she realizes she's the third princess who's going to die in an early episode. She has to scramble for the whole show to try and complete the plot, fix her errors, and hopefully exit after the end. The book doesn't tell Rae everything. For instance, she can't hold her liquor at all. She had to find out the hard way., In ep3 Noah springs a ball on her. When she excuses herself to get ready, he tells her to not bother, and calls in Nick Maddox, Monsieur Magician. MAKEOVER! I'm not the girliest girl. I would have preferred to be Paris or Achilles over Helen of Troy when I was young, at least on some days. Harriet Tubman was my childhood hero along with Jael from the book of Judges who drove a stake through the opposing general's head while he was sleeping, and thus ended a war. But the thought of a makeover still gets my blood racing. Sometimes I'm tempted to be bothered by my innate programming. A makeover seems sort of... meaningless. But it isn't (just ask Mssr Nick). We like what we like, not what we want to like. As long as it's legal and doesn't hurt anyone, why fret over it? Anyway, they are checking all the romantic fantasy boxes in this one. From that aspect, this is a boilerplate, or standard off-the-rack romance - it has most of the usual elements. Just like food, 2 chefs could take the same ingredients but come out with something completely diverse. This author delivers. The anime is a delight through and through. Same for the manga. The Duke had his head down when she entered and was in the middle of saying he'd be a minute as he wraps up work before they leave, but when he sees her, everything stops. After a long pause he gets up and walks to the exit without ever looking back at the pages he had been studying. (I thought he was going to get the family jewels and put them on her. Maybe that will come later). All she took in, though, was that he will never stoop to tossing a compliment her way, apparently! 😤 Rae makes a strong impression on everyone she meets. At the ball Rae makes friends with Eriteal Freese, another noblewoman. She also cannot avoid Shamall Vivian, a shameless vixen who is obsessed with Noah in the book, who causes the FL all kinds of problems as she attempts to break them up. Wait… that's HER, now! Vivian looks like she'd like to vivisect Rae. She's brilliant at passive aggressive insults, but Rae is no slouch either. Rightbackatcha, she effectively says. The night ends with a bang. A thud, actually, as her kidnappers toss Rae into the wagon. Of course, Duke and company save the night. He has a full security battalion and, of course, Taylor Adam. That albino bodyguard is super deadly, so she's rescued before morning. She falls asleep on the horse against Noah's chest on the way back and wakes up in his bed. After a full retreat and long day of fuming, she finds out that the only thing that happened there was sleep. What's clear is that, already, these 2 don't even know anyone else is around when they are interacting with eachother. Next it's the formal monster hunt. Handkerchief favors are expected. The Duke has never accepted one before,…

i would say the quality of this anime is 8/10 subjectively, some choices like the background characters have shadow over their head bother me a little but that's fine. NOW if we're talking about the story there's nothing really special, it's typical but it's fun to follow. However, I don't really like the ending. There's a lot of question in my head when it ends and it doesn't feel like it concludes anything? It still has a lot of mystery but it seems there's not gonna be any continuation. It'll make sense to think of this anime as a promotion to the original source. On side notes, I like the opening and the ending for this anime. :)
