Frieren: Beyond Journey's End
Zomoko11222
Another anime inspired by Overlord. Frieren is if Overlord was a power fantasy and had a woman as MC. It just took all the interesting elements of Overlord and made them mainstream. In other words, trash. Great animation and a cute girl main character is enough to have high ratings on this website so not surprised by the score. You can tell the praise for this is manufacturated. On another note, Overlord's influence is insane. Japan's Game of Thrones for a reason. I know it has a museum and other legendary tributes. But, Maruyama deserves a statue for all these new animes copying his homework and becoming hits. He is truly one the fathers of modern animes. Frieren is if Ainz was boring. She is a Mary Sue with no flaws unlike him. She is always right. Frieren is surface level. There is no controversial topic. The lessons are something everybody already agrees with. The worldbuilding is generic and undervelopped, just another Tolkien rip off. Tired of Overlord copies who never get the core concept of this masterpiece. Frieren is mediocre and inoffensive which is worse than being trash. Also, the repetitive use of flashbacks is lazy writing and there is even a boring shonen tournament arc like usual. I already forgot about Frieren because there is nothing memorable about it.

The fact that this is the #1 anime on this site, with more than double the amount of 10 star reviews than 9, makes me despair for the current state of human aesthetic sensibilities. Appealing to the blandest most flat and passionless standards of writing and characterization with no consideration for emotionally compelling arcs or depth or location memorability... the list could go on and address nearly every bland moment of this soulless slog. The most compelling moments are of Frieren's former party and Flamme. Everything in the present feels devoid of passion and intention and relies on comparison to the past to give any noteworthy reaction from Frieren herself and results in her current companions having no genuine personal development or motivation. Even the silly memeiness that git this show famous is dry and derivative and never made me laugh once. Stark especially is useless and is literally dropped from the show for the longest arc of it. Which is consistent with the continual failures in pacing and scene direction that can make any fight scene feel like the longest pointless interaction with 0 developed or released tension. There are fun series, there are emotional series, there are adventure series, there are thematic series, and so on and so forth. Frieren wanted to be all of these yet lacked any sense of balance and failed on all accounts.

A masterpiece. Above a 10 if i could. Amazing magic system, bueatiful magic system, deep characters, I could go on. from how it approaches loss and regret, to how it shows personal growth. The animation is amazing, the fights are sick, Frieren is a badass, everything is just perfect. Even the MC(s) are all amazing. Most anime falter when it comes to the MC(s), but Frieren doesn't. They all feel like their own people with their own wants and wishes and desires. Especially with how long this show is, its remarkable how interesting it is. Few times does a show go beyond 12 episodes and keep me engaged. Frieren had 28 and I showed up every week with full expectations and a smile

Cute, calming and wholesome slow-pace low-stake shounen with good worldbuilding, nice fantasy music, predictable dialogues and a way more inferior second half than the first (because of the increased number of unimportant characters getting a lot of rushed focus), that should be a bit more careful of promoting dehumanization and rely on methods other than purely throwbacks to show character (mostly extrinsic) motivations, especially when they are used so many times in a row per episode, therefore becoming a broken record of (un)successful tries to provoke feelings of sympathy and nostalgia in its audience (that the show doesn't trust to have a 15 minute long memory) for our lucky overpowered genius heroes.

There are a lot of reviews for this anime, so I'll write mine in short. It is a MASTERPIECE you will see once in a decade, like FMAB. Personally, I think it is better than FMAB, but it's my personal opinion. The art of this anime is excellent, for the world, the characters, and even the side characters; it is just beautiful and pleasant to watch at. You feel like you are in a fantasy world, I haven't seen such a beautiful world in a long long time. The animation is so smooth and the whole world story is explained well, the magic system is so damn good and also explained fully. Every character is feeling alive like they have their own lives outside of the main story. Also, the character growth of each of the main characters is good, especially Friren. You can see and feel how she changes with each new thing she learns, and she learns indeed. She is almost certain will use the new things she learns in the next episodes. The OST is so good I listened to it in loops after finishing the anime, also if you like D&D you can take the OST and use it in your campaign, it is just a fully fantasy OST, one of the best I have ever heard. The emotional impact is on a high level, you may cry from the first episode and feel what the characters are feeling through the whole series. The battles in this anime if they happened are top-tier, thanks to the good animation, art, and the OST. Overall I liked it, and it was hard after finishing the series. I felt emptiness, like losing part of me, because I know that an anime on such a high level comes once in a decade, so I may not experience anything so good in the next decade unless they make a new season.

Absurdist, melancholic, existential. These 3 traits make it one of the best and most unique anime in a setting that it is put in. The thought that we are watching a story after something that could've been the main story itself, we're watching a story after the end of the story. The cynicism and realism of a main character that isn't loud and obnoxious, she's a thousand years old of course she is the way she is. The way the women characters are written, none of that ecchi, lowkey p*do, harem, author's not so well hidden fantasies sh*t. The absurdist quirkyness of Frieren, everyone is motivated by their own reasons - noble or senseless, it doesn't matter.

I was about to say the show was just not my taste and call it a day, until i saw all the overrating and marketing… Why?! It literally ruins it for everyone… This show is literally slice of life with a small plot... Why use bots and marketing to make this #1!? Only 8 eps good out of 28, and this is #1 ?? 28 episodes for this small plot and you can't even finish it? Wow... Imagine telling someone who is getting into anime that this is the best anime has to offer! xD It is embarrassing for us as a community. This medium contains the highest of possible fictional art.. Yet this show is not amongst that. This is a sloppy collection of normal characters and intentionally mundane meaningless plot lines. Imagine telling someone that just because it had a few good eps out of 28 this is a masterpiece!? Clown world. I hate this so much! I need to cancel all my anime subscriptions after this cheap move.

This Anime is a Action & Slice of Life Mix. The Magic System in this Anime is beautifully easy, because they keep it simple, which is really cool and easy for people don't wanna try to understand pretty complex or confusing Magic Systems. The Main Characters are outstandingly cool, Frieren is our elf who is living longer than 1000 Years, Fern being her Student are a pretty solid duo and it's really fun watching them progress on their journey. The good young Warrior Stark, who was pretty Solid all over the season with his entertainment, is also a really likable Character. The Fantasy Setting is great. The OSTs are outstandingly good. The Action scenes are impressive and it's completely hand drawn, no 3D Animations. The World Building is top. The flashbacks of the past coming right in almost every scene they decide to put in such a scene. 10/10 for me my second most liked anime.

Yes, I gave it a 10, but I’m also saying you might not like it. This is an awesome show, truly. However, it is very much aimed at a specific audience that can appreciate its themes. Let's start with what this show is about and the kind of message it’s trying to convey. Then we’ll discuss how it achieves this and how well it utilizes the major elements of the show to do so. So, what is this show about? Sousou no Frieren is about memories and the ability to appreciate those around you. What’s truly masterful about it is the choice of setting and the overall vibes of the show. Even on your first viewing, it feels like you’re reminiscing about your own past adventures. First things first, let’s talk art direction. The art is amazing, but it’s never distracting. Like everything in this show, immersion is key. The visuals are stunningly beautiful, though somewhat generic, yet they never pull you out of the experience to think about the animators or designers. The same goes for the music. There aren’t any ‘absolute bangers’ to dance to. The openings aren’t trying to energize you or prepare you for action—they’re simply soothing. All of this fits perfectly with the world-building the show sets out to do, which is intentionally generic. This only adds to the calming atmosphere and chill vibes. We rarely feel anxious about the outcomes of confrontations because we’re already familiar with this world, and we’re free to just sit back and enjoy. So, how does it start? The beginning clearly sets the tone for what you can expect. It’s as good as the rest of the season and doesn’t mislead you with more action or elements that won’t be present later. It perfectly establishes the tone and themes that will be explored throughout the series. This is a tale set in a familiar world that we’ve already conquered. This is as true for our protagonist as it is for us in many ways. What about the characters? The characters are where the show tries to innovate. Each main character is a blend of traits common to their respective class, mixed with something a bit off, creating a wonderfully crafted deconstruction of what it means to belong to that class. There are also consistent parallels between the current party and the heroes' party, allowing these aspects to be thoroughly explored. They still feel relatable and close to home because they are very charming. There’s a character with a slightly more explosive nature, but he doesn’t detract from the chill vibe at all; in fact, he’s managed very well. What about the story itself? The story lives or dies by its themes. There’s a plot element, but it’s essentially a MacGuffin—“We need to get there, and that’s it.” Each character has both an objective and room for growth, but what really stands out is how we can appreciate every moment spent with them. Most of the runtime is episodic, though there are some larger arcs. The show has a strong RPG feel, capturing perfectly what it’s like to play your favorite game after completing it—wandering around, doing side-quests, and reminiscing about the golden days. So, what did I think of it as a whole? Some might see Sousou no Frieren as generic, since it leans heavily on familiarity to deliver its themes and concepts. I think it’s a masterful use of tropes to deliver a powerful message. It’s particularly tailored for long-time fantasy readers and RPG players who can sympathize with Frieren herself and appreciate the familiar feel. If you’re looking for a familiar and chill adventure with a lot of charm and good memories, this might even become your favorite.

It took me almost an entire year to watch through this 28 episode, short anime. Why have I voted this as a masterpiece you may ask? Because it is. Let's review everything about this show! (No Spoilers) First of all, this show is not for everyone. It's definitely got a different take as to how an anime is played out and presented to the viewer. It explores different subjects in life and has very positive lessons to learn from. As you probably already have heard, the animation and the art is great. The songs are usually very fitting (I say usually because it's subjective to the viewer in some scenes) to the scenes and the characters are memorable. This show is filled with emotions yet it's not done in a generic way in most cases. There has been multiple scenes where I got goosebumps or suddenly started tearing up even when the show is trying to give me a message and tell me to smile. Now one thing I really like about this show, is that the characters don't act like they're trying to cast a show, they act more natural and very emotionless at times, of course sometimes it's not realistic but it doesn't have that fake, childish overreactions that you would usually get from other anime characters. Another thing to note is that this show never keeps things hidden from you. Now I'm sure there is millions of plot points yet to be revealed but most of the time if something is mentioned, it's usually followed by a whole episode dedicated to that topic. Now as a person who likes paying attention to little details and working things out myself, this is not a very good trait, but the upside is when I'm having a conversation with another viewer, they are almost never confused as to what's going on and they completely understand the situation unlike other shows where nobody has a good read on what the show is actually trying to tell you. I personally dropped this show in the first couple episodes and had trouble connecting with the characters or the story (well, technically they didn't even have characters or a story), but ended up picking it right back up, watching amazing 3-4 episodes back to back, and ended up dropping again because the show changed paces way too many times so my brain couldn't take how slow it got after that much action. I enjoy slow shows, but when you keep switching up the pace, it does lose my interest. Although this was the case, I knew the show is praised for a reason and I have seen it with my own eyes from the episodes that I have enjoyed to I decided to pick it back up and keep watching. I forced myself to watch around 2 episodes and I suddenly started to get attached to the fantasy world they have built and started to enjoy the show a lot more. Even on episodes where they were basically doing nothing, it was so fun and interesting to watch. Towards the end it started following a little bit more generic anime arc style and introduced new characters, which did make the show a lot more accessible and easier to enjoy. Is this the best ever anime? No, nothing is. Every anime is subjective, but what I know for a fact is that this show has very small amount of things to hate on (or almost nothing to hate on). Which leaves me with no reason to take off any points off of it. 10/10 show, I recommend everyone to pick it up and stick with it. Take your time if you need, but you will not regret watching the whole thing. Thank you for reading.

1) Not saturated Although I do not gravitate towards such genres, it is easy to see why Frieren got to be loved by so many watchers. The fantasy genre had suffered for many years, since such anime were usually lackluster videogame adaptations that were just going over the events of the game with no care for pacing or character appeal. Even worse, the isekai plague had led to a dozen fantasy-themed shows each season, most of which were slight variations of the same, lazily-written power fantasy tropes that usually involve harems and slavery. Frieren didn’t belong in either of these two types. It was not the adaptation of a videogame, thus it was not limited by whatever gameplay mechanics and dialogue infodumps the source had. It was also not written to be sleazy escapism for depressed people yearning to flee from reality into a realm where desires could be fulfilled instantly, and women could be conquered with little to no effort. 2) Aesthetic allure Obviously this is not the first thing most people will realize about Frieren. Your average watcher is just going to notice it has good production values and a waifu-level elf on the cover, and that would be enough to please him. Even with this completely surface-level approach, Frieren manages to have a mainstream appeal by catering to the most basic desires of a casual watcher. Just pretty colors and cute girls. And nothing degenerate that usually alienates a big part of the audience, such as a harem of one-dimensional bimbos, or slavery where the protagonist is forced to do it but it’s otherwise okay because he cares for his slaves. 3) Uncommon premise Once a viewer manages to see past the most superficial elements, he will be presented with feelings of nostalgia and melancholy, meaning that the show begins with heavy emotions and an elegiac type of premise. In fact, you could say that Frieren begins where most other shows conclude and that it’s akin to an epilogue. All the conventional tales you would get regarding the gathering of allies, leveling up and fighting the demon lord, are over by the time the show begins. We are given the aftermath of such stories, which by itself is something very few stories touch upon. The glory days are over and now we mostly get to see the aftermath of the heroes winning and what that means for the world. 4) World building Because of how the premise is structured, the plot is heavily based on world building. Since the heroes’ journey concluded, every location bears the scars of their battles and triumphs, thus you are constantly let to know the main characters have impacted their setting. They are neither disconnected from it, nor forgotten as soon as their deed was done. The show places considerable effort in a mostly slice-of-life type of plot, where rarely action or major conflicts takes place. This approach lets the viewer to mostly glimpse into the daily lives of the people in the settings, instead of the wars they had with monsters. It enhances immersion despite being completely tensionless. 5) A protagonist you can get behind Speaking of tensionless, Frieren is one of the most powerful beings in her world from the very outset. After centuries of training and fighting and getting stronger during the campaign against the demon lord, she is now at epic levels and nothing can be considered a threat to her. Although this could easily turn her into another trite power fantasy akin to the ones in isekai (broken powers right from episode 1) in this case she grinded for centuries to get where she is now, and has a long history of battles and people that interacted with her, instead of being a bland self-insert. Thus she is powerful (thus nobody can complain about being a weak loser), she earned her power (albeit only because of her race), and she has an actual personality and backdrop instead of being an empty vessel for the viewer to self-insert. 6) What the show isn’t about Obviously, no show caters to the tastes of all audiences, and Frieren is not for action or adventure fans. It is a cozy slice-of-life show about a cute elf and her pouting apprentice, having wholesome vignettes as they travel around and fixing the problems of each area with mostly tensionless fights and stupid-strong magic no opponent has any chance against. It can become dull if you get too much of it, and you are never going to be biting your nails, wondering what comes next. It’s an anime you watch to relax and sometimes feel sad with the elegiac atmosphere, or laugh with the whimsical antiques of some characters. It is a mostly cute girls doing cute things anime, than a Lord of the Rings variant. In this regard, there are bound to be a lot of people who will not be interested in it, but even they are likely to find little to be overly negative about it, since it doesn’t have many elements it can fail at. 7) Personal thoughts Even I who am not a fan of it, the worst thing I can say about it, is that both story and characters are simple. They don’t provoke contemplation or investment in their fates. Frieren, for all its merits, remains something you watch to relax, and I was never that kind of a fan. I favor action, adventure, big explosions, an inclination shared by the majority of anime fans who seek hype and excitements. It’s why fighting shonen are always the most popular anime, despite being filled with dumb plots and mindless fights. But even that does not mean I dislike the show. I just don’t consider its plot interesting, and thus my enjoyment of it remains anchored at a base level.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that one of its weaknesses is that the first half has some parts where it's unnecessarily slow. I also bumped down the rating so that it's more consistent with my other ones. Frieren should be more of a 7 rather than an 8. Frieren is a show that DOES NOT deserve all the hype and praise it gets. However, it still remains pretty enjoyable. If you want to watch Frieren, you have to delete any notion that this will be an unprecedented masterpiece. I suspect that the reason Frieren gets so much praise is because the past few years have been completely devoid of any attempts at a new story or concept. Watching Isekai #508 made me feel like Katakuri from One Piece where I could see the dialogue 5 seconds before it happens. If I had to give an analogy, Frieren feels like you drank cold water on a hot day, but it's not like you drank an amazing milkshake. It is a very welcome breath of fresh air. The originality of the show is its main strength in all categories. It takes a beaten up horse and adds a spin on it. It is a deconstruction of the fantasy genre Instead of being set in a fantasy world where the heroes must beat the demon king, the story is set after their successful mission. Frieren is an elf who will live for an impossible amount of time. This causes her, and other elves, to take the flow of time lightly. After the hero dies, she starts to feel regret over how she took what little time they had together for granted. The premise is a fresh take on what is usually an uncreative setting. It also gets handled quite well. Instead of the show being about Frieren constantly expressing her regret (which I expected and would have been completely fine with), It is relegated to the background and becomes another cog that influences Frieren's decisions throughout the show. It was really pleasant seeing Frieren go around the world and see all these remnants of her party generations ago. There are all these statues of her friend that are now becoming rusty, old and dilapidated. The villagers remember that the hero existed, but she is the only one who has real memories of him. The setting itself is not appealing. It is the usual medieval fantasy world with all the races you come to expect. The landscape is just every medieval fantasy. However, the interesting thing is how the show builds up the setting in its unique way. It is difficult to describe what specifically is interesting without spoilers so I will not do that here. The characters, for the most part, are consistent with their own personalities. For example, Frieren does act the part of someone who is extremely old and negligent of the passage of time. Although some of the character personalities are tropes, they aren't walking bags of repeated gags. Rather, they are deconstructions of those tropes; they talk and behave like real humans. One point of criticism is the plot during the second half of the first season. Tournament arcs are overdone. There also isn't a unique twist regarding them in Frieren. The arc also halted the main plot which was unwelcome.

Overall, this anime landed itself as one of the top anime I've watched in memory. A combination of a well-thought-out story and magic system, with dynamic characters that act like actual humans, and a sprinkling of action scenes that make you feel amazed. It's not a fast paced show that gets to the action right away, but it takes it time to get there. And I think that represents what the show is about, showing the adventure as it happens and the most memorable bits in between large scenes. Even in life I feel I remember the spontaneous things that just happen between friends more than the major events that occur. And this anime just captures it so well.

Story: Just wandering from place to place not much story just a gathering of random events World building: every place is the same the world is as generic as it gets the most 5/10 to ever exist which in itself is impressive i guess characters: pout fern so cute please marry me omg booba 10/10 most beautiful series to ever exist this is a piece of art you just can't understand it. Frieren is so funny and relatable and cute and seductive she just wants to sleep and take it easy haha that's literally me 10/10 most beautiful series to ever exist this is a piece of art you just can't understand it. Stark is so interesting when i think about him i think about coyote starrk from bleach, it's honestly so interesting that a character is so boring you can't even think about him when you think about him does that make sense or maybe it's just that I can't understand it humor: suicide art: fire 🔥 music: the ending song is cute

Amazing story, good ost, ( So nice even that even though it's not my gengre, I do even like to listen to it on its own ) Animation isn't high quality, however it's good enough, especially keeping in mind that it's 28 episodes, not just the stereotypical 12, however, srr, but compared to the the rest of the anime, the names are kinda of putting. they kinda feel more like an afterthought, with them searching random related words in German on Google Translate, what makes it sound more like a children's series for 2 year olds and older. I have a feeling it would work better if you're from outside Dutch or German speaking nations especially Japan, with some names sounding more like Japanese, like 4 example Denken sounding like Denka ( 殿下 ) However I'm srr, but based on the names, it sounds more like a series 4 little children. I love the parts however, where interior design, food and such can be dated irl. So much so, that I think it's at least inspired by Europe around the 1760's. I also live how the anime isn't just like boring at some parts, doesn't heavily rely on placing a some sort of cliffhanger on the end of every episode, to push people in watching the next episode. It's calm, relaxing, however, in the end, I'm srr. It's mainly the names that are a really big issue. If not 4 the names, I would definitely have given the series a 9,5 so in this case a 10, bc 9,5 isn't possible.

This anime is a masterpiece. In every respect, it is majestic and powerful, saturated with beauty and craftsmanship in every regard. An anime like this one is a precious treasure, one that only comes about very rarely, and one that will stay with you for the rest of your life, representing a high watermark of storytelling that will forevermore serve as an example of just what anime can achieve as a medium when everything comes together just right. As of the time of this writing, Frieren is the 200th anime I've watched, and has earned its place as one of the exceedingly few that I have given the prestige of a perfect 10. In short, it is a work of absolute genius, in every sense of the word. It is difficult to begin anywhere with a title such as this, when everything about it is so incredible, but I'll begin here with the story. Frieren handles its masterful storytelling in such a uniquely potent way that it lands among the absolute greats, nearly inimitable in its impact and excellence. It is immediately apparent that, this story, about an eccentric elf who has outlived her adventuring party learning more about the human condition by starting another one, feels like a strong return to form in terms of fantasy. It feels classic and timeless, mastering all the pieces that make the famous fantasy epics of the past work so well. It feels hopeful, and adventurous, and exciting, and above all offers up a refreshing take on the defeat of ultimate, objective evil. How Frieren handles the problem of demons is intelligent and all-encompassing, championing the concept of the good and proclaiming without any reservations that the destruction of evil is always righteous. It eschews the played-out modern trope of 'misunderstood demonkind' and 'grey morality', instead championing heroism, strength, and persistence in the face of deception, lies, and uncertainty. This aspect alone would be more than enough to declare the story this anime's strongest aspect, but there is still so much more to it. Beyond its flawless execution of fantasy's most important and timeless themes, it adds unique and engaging aspects that deal with the most profound aspects of the human experience. There were many moments where it moved me to tears. This story takes on so much, and yet deals with all of it with such impressive skill. Be it Frieren's reckoning with her near-immortality in the context of the human relationships which mean so much to her, or Fern's grappling with belonging and what it means to be a mage and practice the craft she loves so much, or Stark's challenges with cowardice and fear when he has so much potential and how his friends bring out the best parts of him as a person and as a warrior, this anime is emotionally intelligent on a level that I have only rarely seen before. This anime understands what it means to be a person, what it means to grow. Even beyond its epic narrative, even beyond its sense of adventure, this story captures so much of the human experience, so much of the soul of man. Even the little things, like helping villagers clean a statue, or telling a story to your friends around the bonfire, or even taking in the sights and sounds of a new place, this anime gets it, and even if this were the only great part about this anime, it would still deserve every ounce of praise that it is getting now. But, indeed, there is so, so much more to say about Frieren. The art is every bit as impressive as the story, and stands out from its peers with a degree of aesthetic mastery that is rarely seen in a given season. It is colorful, and interesting, and vibrant, and detailed, but beyond all of this, it has vision for the world it portrays. The world of Frieren feels alive and full of history. The architectural styles, which change between regions as they head north, are so carefully imagined, depicted down to the slightest cultural detail, that it's clear this anime was given nothing short of complete and total love during the entire length of its production. On the other hand, the fight scenes are so richly executed that every hit, every blow, feels like it has weight, like it punches through to the screen so that you can feel it in your chest. This is not even to mention that Frieren has one of the richest and most indulgent color palates I've ever seen, and even some of the smoothest and most impressive animation in general. Beyond the fantastic art style, the animation itself is smooth and seamless, animating the finest details like hair physics, eye movements, and light filtering through leaves with a dedication and mastery that will give you chills. The sound, like everything else in this anime, gets similar praise from me. The soundtrack is soaring and orchestral, with so many layers of emotion and majesty that are rare, not just in anime, but in general. It is suited to every possible moment, from the most jubilant highs, to the most melancholy lows, and even the quiet moments of peace, where nothing in particular is happening. No matter what, this soundtrack wreathes the entire anime in excellence, and is overall one of the best scores in anime. The sounds of life, too, are detailed down to the minutia, from the rustling leaves, to the squelching of mud, and even all the moving parts involved in the grand cacophony of a pitched magical battle. The sound is an honored companion to the art and story, especially when the voice work is considered, which is characteristic, unique, and emotional from start to finish. It even earns its place as one of the few anime for which I prefer the dub, given just how impressively well-cast everybody is in this regard. The characters, too, are incredible. They feel like they're the ones driving this story, as it is their adventure, and that feels right. I was consistently impressed by this show's characterization, as though I immediately fell in love with our main cast, I was skeptical about every new person added in, especially in the second half, but I was blown away by how this anime manages to make every character, no matter how recent or how secondary, feel complex and interesting, to the point where I found myself invested in them and their stories as well. This is a genuinely impressive feat, and one that should be celebrated by all and emulated by other anime looking to do the same. Of the cast, my favorites are the main adventuring party of Frieren, Fern, and Stark. Their relationship just feels so genuine and familial, and they way they build each other up is both inspiring and moving. Overall, Frieren is an actual masterpiece, a work of art that is on par with the absolute greats of history. I absolutely recommend it, and, going further, will say here that it is a necessary watch for anyone who calls themselves a serious enthusiast of anime. It will become a part of you, and stay with you for the rest of your life. Frieren really is that amazing.

The best fantasy work I've ever seen, it revived a genre that had completely disappeared and that was even confused with the isekai genre. Together with Dungeon Meshi they revived the fantasy genre in the most epic way possible. I loved Frieren practically from the first moment I saw her, I absolutely identified with her in every way.English: highly recommended story if you want to see something that is out of the norm of everything that came out these years and with some of the characters you will surely identify hahaha since this anime has a very wide variety in my case it was with frieren sama hahahahaha. It only remains to be thankful that this work was animated, wait for the second season and greatly support that works like these that have not yet been animated are so more and more supporting the Fanasia genre which is my favorite without a doubt. Recommended anime for beginners yes but if you don't like slow things or with a lot of dialogue no. and long live the fantasy genre

This is one of the best animes I have ever watched, and it is also the only anime I have commented on. The story is slow-paced but for me it is perfect. If I could, I would have rated it higher than 10. Whenever I see this, I cry because of how tragic this story is. There are some funny and sad moments in this anime, and like I said, the story was perfect. I would recommend it to anyone looking for adventure, romance, and action. The characters were perfect in their ways, the power scale I think was perfect and I think that everyone would enjoy this anime.

Okay , I was reading some hate comments on this show , I have read most of the hate comments and mixed feelings comments I will write point by point because it is easier to read that way Firsty about hate comments: 1. Most of the hate comments are about why the show is so much higher rated , basically they feel jealous that their favourite show isn't this high rated and they basically just ignore the good things about Frieren of jealousy . 2 . Some of them said this show is not a good action, adventure but a SOL anime , I mean cmon guys the whole point of the show is SOL , its literally about character development of frieren and her new party . 3. Some said the music is forgettable well everyone has different music taste but for me the music was not at all bad Every intro, outro, bgm are on my playlist , I love them . The conclusion : 1 . This show is for everyone, everyone can enjoy this show but The ones who will become true fans of this show are the ones who like watching SOL animes , if you are more into character development , story , ambience more than action ( Don't get me wrong action scenes are phenomenal in this anime ) then you'll definitely leave a 10 star rating . 2.This is the only anime that has everything near perfection, the director of this show is my favourite same as " Bocchi the rock " show , Every scene is done very detailed and the ambience is very pleasing to watch. 3. It is one of those shows that are perfectly adapted from the manga , and imo it surpasses the manga by a huge margin Not giving this anime a try is your loss , you'll not be able to enjoy something so beautiful . 4. I have ignored the plot , the vision ,the effect this anime has on your real life and shape your thoughts because it is yours to find out by watching the anime .

Frieren is a show that I can only describe as handcrafted for me on every level. I know that’s not how this works, but I can think of few anime that check as many boxes as this one. I didn’t realize I had a preference for how I like animation, fight animation specifically, to look at, but I have now realized I do. The fluid animation is endlessly impressive, and it sets itself apart from any other anime I’ve seen. Frieren has some of the most lovable characters I’ve ever seen, and the fact that it is so calm and character-heavy is just amazing to see. Even the openings feel tailored to me by picking both Yoasobi, and (more importantly my favorite band) Yorushika. I could go on and on, but I’ll just leave it at this. This series is incredible, it’s slow and important and it doesn’t treat the audience like idiots. It’s so intelligent and whether nothing was happening or some of the coolest-looking fights I’ve ever seen were happening, I was smiling all the way.
