This is an anime that proves the importance of good direction in a project. Director Toshihiro Kikuchi should take a bow for how well this show came together. This show has the feel of a limited budget. The animation is nothing special and uses lots of still frames. Only 4 of the 9 voice actors have voiced in more than 10 shows. The director focused all the budget and animation around the two main characters. Both Nobuhiko Okamoto and Saori Hayami absolutely kill their scenes and their chemistry together is what sells this show. Nobuhiko Okamoto is my personal favorite voice actor having voiced characters like Accelerator, Karma Akabane, Katsuki Bakugo, Rin Okumura, Genya Shinazugawa, and other loud and slightly mentally unstable characters. Eiji in this show is not like any of these characters and shows how great of a voice actor he is. Saori Hayami is a fantastic voice actor who has many great roles to her name. She has voiced Shirayuki, Yor Forger, Yumeko Jabami, Shinobu Kochou, Shouko Nishimiya, and many other sweet and softer characters. She brings that quality to this show and made Rin Nanakura one of the best girls of 2024. This show is a must watch for any lover of the romance genre.

I really fail to understand who would genuinely find a show like this funny enough for it to warrant a "comedy" tag. Toddlers maybe? I just don't understand the appeal behind anime characters making silly faces and them overreacting to the most mundane situations imaginable. The anime feels lifeless. It's fine for an anime to focus exclusively on two characters, but if the dialogue between said characters is dull and uninspired then the anime very quickly becomes a "nothing" show. I do historically really enjoy romcom anime, so I did have somewhat high hopes for this one. A girl who can act out several characters and swap between them rapidly in the middle of a conversation is a very interesting plot device in theory, but the application is underwhelming. At least it had a functional romance, which is more than can be said for most other anime I've seen. I'm not a big fan.

Giji Harem, as the name suggests is an anime about a guy, Eiji who gets a psuedo harem with his one and only girlfriend, Rin Nanakura. This anime is just pure romance, no love triangle and not harem as you could say it's just one female with multiple impressions. The anime is overall a very good one and one of my favorite romance. It's straightforward, sweet and overall just pure romance. Though it still is not good in every aspect like animation. The animation is not so good, but it's really good compared to many. The voice acting is just perfect imo, props to Haori Sayami for cooking really good. The side characters are also good, they were used in good ways. But the pacing was wayyy fast imo. They really tried to cover the entire manga in a season of 12 episodes, ending up in this fast-paced anime. But it's overall one of my favorite romance animes I've watched, it was pure diabetic for me and the last episode was *chefs kiss*. I could say some of y'all will like it, while many others may not. It's completely your preference, but for me it's a solid 8.2/10. Would recommend for a short 12-ep watch.

You know the "three episode rule" for judging anime? It's totally overkill for this one. You need just 5 minutes of its first episode for it to win you over and for you to learn what it's gonna be like. Based on a 4-koma manga it's core is just a constant barrage of short skits where a newbie drama club girl acts out different personalities for the props-department senpai she likes because he once jokingly said he wanted to be popular and have a harem of different girls. Each skit is fun and cute and awesome if you approach it expecting just that instead of a deep pulitzer-worthy story. They both mix in "acted out love" with their growing true feelings in a natural way never using one to completely hide or deny the other, never trying to artificially prolong or complicate the story by weird drama or misunderstandings. They may feel a bit repetitive if you try to binge too much of them all at once but they could very well have kept going forever and never lost their charm if taken in small daily doses. Because of their simple and self-contained nature you can even rewatch them randomly (or reread random manga chapters) and still enjoy them whenever you have a couple minutes to fill. Instead of going on with this forever though, the author pushed the romance plot forward towards its simple and obvious conclusion in a way that I think strikes a good balance to satisfy both those that want to see its end as well as those that just like the skits by accumulating a good number of them along the way.

Giji Harem is a comedy/romance/school anime that isn't particularly groundbreaking, but it's entertaining and enjoyable. We follow the daily lives of the protagonists Giji and Rin, who both love acting and theater. Giji fantasizes about having his own harem, and Rin, being a very good actress, plays various female characters that cheer him up. Although the harem theme is mentioned, it's just a silly idea of Giji's and is never explored in depth. It's a way for Rin to get closer to Giji because, as I said, she "acts" different characters in the pseudo-harem. Many might not give it a chance if they read the synopsis because they think it's a harem anime, but believe me, there's hardly any fanservice or harem elements in this anime. In any case, I recommend it!

This is one of the most wholesome romance anime you'll ever witness, and probably one of the first wholesome anime to make you bored. Well, slice of life is about making the viewers feel at home to be fair and it's not really about an epic fantasy story. Giji Harem is not what I expected to be at all. I thought it was just going to be a girl trolling a dude who is fantasizing his girl classmates to be in his own harem but it's actually just the girl doing split personalities and actually ended up falling in love with him hence the romance tag. In older romance anime, the stories are usually longer and in way more episodes because of the technology back then. This can be to air more in televisions to gain more revenue and to I guess maybe to transition to other titles with a slower paced story. The point I want to make here is that the story has time skips like a smooth transition of time skips. By the halfway point in the anime there's already progress that makes sense despite the short amount of scenes we get to see. This show takes a no BS approach like no cliffhangers and straight to the point. And at first it sounds good but unfortunately for me I wasn't really engaged in the story. I want to point out the repetitiveness of the girl doing the different personalities. I think irl people will always do silly things to their friends or lovers but even if I understand what this story is trying to portray, I don't really enjoy how it just progresses into spamming harem mode. I'll admit there were touching scenes and my heart was in awe at some of them but the reality is the show isn't really perfect despite it's good qualities. The voice actress Saori Hayami killed it with Rin Nanakura but the male mc wasn't anything bad or crazy. The pacing although fast can lead some viewers to get lost or lose track of time in the story. The animation isn't amazing but the design is fine like the characters and setting. I also felt weirded out at times like how the girl mc is a year younger than the male mc but at least it wasn't a huge age gap because Drake would've been interested here. This will be the closing stage of my review. This is probably someone's love story in real life made into an anime. Giji Harem is basically about a girl that does everything in a harem by herself and doing it for the guy she likes. It's a wholesome show and it will get boring at some point or maybe even if you start watching it. Not really the worst of romances but one of the better ones.

This anime is different than most anime’s. It has some common troupes and the beginning half of the anime was mostly small snippets, meaning there wasn’t much story, just random slice of life moments. However, towards the end of the anime, there was GOOD tear jerking moments for me that really sold it. At first I thought it was another random events anime, but it had a lot of story! So I would stick until the ending for a surprise I didn’t even expect Some moments I thought was a little cringy but other moments made me had grin behind blankets. It was a wild ride. The reason I score it like this is because some would really love it while others won’t but I would definitely rewatch it! The voice actors for this was perfect. Changing in between personalities and I can definitely feel the emotions from both main characters! I wish they would show some “scenes” more and I got confused like what just happened sometimes. But all in all I would recommend to someone that watches romcom anime’s regularly, but probably not for someone is getting into it Thanks for listening to my review :)

Pseudo Harem is a good reminder of how wholesome romance animes should be. Sometimes, you just need a refresher from drama, childhood friends, and whatever the fuck other romance (at least shitty ones) animes are up to. Each episode keeps me smiling and just hoping for the best to this couple. Some people I've talked to think the story is predictable. But is that really a bad thing? Sometimes, you just don't need to think and overanalyze a romance anime (touch grass please) for hours. I love how Pseudo Harem keeps me entertained and no one loses in the ending. It's a perfect lighthearted anime everyone needs once in a while. Also, Saori Hayami's performance in this anime is fucking amazing. She really showed her insane range in 12 episodes. And it's great seeing Nobuhiko Okamoto playing a character that doesn't fucking yell every 5 seconds.

A romance that I didn't expect anything from, it upset me at the beginning, but in the end it made me feel like everything would be okay. Like anime, you have to start with the bad and leave the good for the end. The worst thing that the anime has to offer is to speed up all the typical events of romance in the first 3 chapters. We're talking about 2 years of school life in 3 chapters. Sometimes you couldn't even get a good taste of a date, because in the next scene they were already on to something else. The scenes are short, no more than 5 minutes, so in one chapter you could have 5 to 8 scenes, with different situations that gave you little time to digest what was happening. The secondary characters don't help the anime either, they're NPCs. The drama club mates, who should be there to add a different flavor to the story, are simply extras that instead of contributing, end up being a bit annoying. Of course, as I said, everything gets better towards the end. Once the romance is consolidated and the couple is formed, the story begins to slow down little by little. What at first was a rush of typical events, in the second half we finally got to know more about the personality of our protagonists. We were able to understand them and empathize with their current situation. As they approach the final chapter, the romance becomes more solid and we really get to buy the idea that they are made for each other. The final chapter is one designed to ease your heart, to make you have faith in humanity and if we exaggerate a little, it is so sweet it could give you diabetes. The little drama in the story is appreciated, because sometimes one simply seeks to enjoy a story without getting depressed in the attempt. If you don't get sick to your stomach with all the content that they want to feed you in the first half, you will get to enjoy a sweet and delicious dessert in the second part. A dessert that will make you think that in the end the food wasn't so bad.

This show feels like something that every romance lover (like me) should like. Unfortunately, it just missed the mark. This show had a lot going for it. Good visuals, good music, good characters, an interesting premise, and, to me, the most important thing, a complete story in 12 episodes. In of itself, the primary dynamic of acting bleeding into their relationship is interesting, even without the multiple personalities. The character dialogue is pleasant (which is especially valuable given the acting aspect), and the two main leads are decent enough characters in their own right. Surprisingly, the pacing in this show felt nice. Their relationship felt like it developed fairly naturally (at least after the love at first sight), the story hit every major story beat that you'd hope for without dwelling for too long on side stories, and left me feeling satisfied with the ending. Unfortunately, where it falls short is the quality of the writing. The show handles some really interesting concepts: primarily the effect that intentional RP within a real relationship has on that relationship. But it doesn't really touch on those concepts extensively. Instead it seems to focus really heavily on gag humor, which is funny, but isn't really funny enough to carry the lack of significant conflict that occurs. Not saying that every show needs to have interpersonal conflict, but it needs to either have a strong enough cast of characters (dangers in my heart) or strong enough comedy to carry that gap (Kaguya-sama) and this show doesn't have either. Overall, warm and cozy, but was a bit of a slog to get through. The ending was satisfying and the characters were likable, but it feels like the show just didn't really have a real story to tell.

This is one of the most underappreciated anime. As you’ll see, the core idea behind it isn’t particularly unique. However, the series makes full use of its worldbuilding, and for a small 12-episode anime, it feels like a masterpiece. Overall Rating: 8.6/10 Animation – 6/10 Nothing particularly outstanding, especially considering the low budget, but it’s consistently solid. Some 3D shots felt slightly out of place and didn’t blend perfectly with the rest of the animation, but overall it was good enough. Main Characters – 10/10 One of the show’s biggest strengths. The couple has excellent chemistry, and the relationship avoids the typical popular-girl/shy-guy dynamic. Their designs are fairly simple, but they fit the tone of the series perfectly and are executed really well. Side Characters – 6/10 Nothing particularly memorable. Ayaka’s pink hair felt somewhat out of place compared to the rest of the cast. It would have been better to either keep every character’s hair color realistic or fully commit to more colorful designs instead of making only one character stand out. Story/Plot/Pacing – 8/10 The overall plot isn’t anything groundbreaking, but the pacing is excellent. The romance progresses naturally without dragging things out for multiple seasons, while also avoiding the need to include every typical romantic trope. Despite its simple premise, the writing keeps everything engaging from start to finish. Romance Aspect – 10/10 Nothing to complain about, just absolute peak Comedy Aspect – 10/10 Funniest than some anime that are purely focused on comedy. It also delivers those small moments that make you quietly giggle while watching alone at night, before realizing how much you’re enjoying a romcom—and not caring because it’s just that good. Overall Vibe – 10/10

I actually had this series on pause since like episode 11 back when it was first airing in 2024, but I finally got around to finishing it now in Feb 2026. To be honest, there’s nothing super "mind-blowing" about it, but it’s definitely not a bad watch. The whole premise is just a guy and a girl and everything basically revolves around their little interactions. It's a pretty basic setup, but the hook with the girl, Rin, roleplaying as a whole "pseudo-harem" was actually kind of fun. It was a bit kinky in a friendly way but honestly it worked. Even though the tropes they used were the usual stuff you see in romance anime, they were still done well. The biggest surprise for me was the ending. I really didn't expect to see them actually get married, but it was a nice touch even if it felt a bit sudden. Overall, it’s just a chill, fine series if you’re looking for something simple to get through.

[TL;DR: A lighthearted romance romp with an interesting gimmick. While the art and animation leaves a lot to be desired, it's easy on the eyes and on the kokoro as well. A fluffy "boy meets girl" slice-of-life story without incessant melodrama and surprisingly real, heartfelt moments. It's short and sweet, only 12 episodes, it's an excellent choice if you are looking for something warm and fuzzy to watch on a Sunday afternoon!] I like stories that don't try to be more than they are, and Pseudo Harem fits the bill perfectly. A light slice-of-life romance anime without all the fluff. The gimmick this time is "why would you need a 100 girls in your harem, when you can have one with a 100 personalities?". Not in a clinical sense of course, but that she is a very talented actress who can switch character tropes on a whim. Tsundere-chan, Imp-chan, Spoiled-chan, Cool-chan, Demure-chan, you'll never know who you gonna get. It's like dating a dozen different girls at the same time, but without the guilt! It's a match made in heaven, especially if you are into that sort of thing. The anime is very light on fluff, we are jumping from vignette to vignette, straight to the point, and while it's great to have a story with progression which is never boring, the change is sometimes quite jarring. Not giving the audience enough time to immerse themselves in the scene, jumping from a heavy romantic moment to comedic relief and back again is a bit of a whiplash sometimes. Which is true for the writing as well, the anime switches gears faster than Takumi in Initial D, as we often go from emotion-filled tension to slapstick play-acting and than back again in seconds, just leaves your head reeling. That being said, the scenes and dialogues are great, they smell very "based on a true story" and easily moves you in unexpected ways. I love the fact the humor is also very light, no low-brow toilet humor or needless raunchy fanservice bs, it's all very "safe" which doesn't mean it's colorless or boring but it lends itself really well for a lighthearted romance story like this. Now, I do have to mention the art style, which is also really...um...light. It's very basic, light pastels and absolutely no needless lines. Especially the backgrounds sometimes look like they've been outsourced to the nearest intern and the quality can be very inconsistent between scenes. The low framerate and janky animations also follow suit. It's not terrible, but it's obvious the anime was made on a budget, and while it doesn't really detract from the enjoyment much, they could've done a lot better. All in all, Giji Harem is a really enjoyable little romance story without any of the huge rollercoasters of bigger productions. The gimmick is interesting and fun, the story is nice and steady, the characters are cute, the humor is totally non-offensive, it's a really safe bet if you are looking for something light and fluffy between all the melodrama-drenched heavy stuff. I wholeheartedly recommend it!

Four characters that swoon over one guy with various personalities this one is one character with four personalities swooning over one guy it’s literally called fake Harem and it works it is a harem but one to one it’s really good idea. About being said it is your generic high school harem romcom doesn’t really do anything out of the ordinary apart from a lack of fan service beach episode which is nice to see and I’ve only just realised that writing this review. The characters are nothing ready to talk about just your generic five piece anime characters but moulded into two like I say nothing crazy just 12 episodes of generic high school romcom but it was good I like the characters I like how it’s all a “ act “ whilst watching the relationship blossom was really nice I could’ve sworn this was for a season two but upon checking I couldn’t find anything as I was confused to the ending being fairly rounded off with no season to insight but maybe I’m wrong and there is a season two that I haven’t found if there is great if not it ended quite well Overall 7/10

Giji Harem is honestly such a refreshing romcom. It doesn’t just throw around the usual tropes; it plays with them in a really clever way. Rin, the main girl, is the soul of the show. Her whole deal of pretending to be different "harem" characters to entertain Eiji is both hilarious and heartfelt. You can see how much she enjoys it, but also how much she genuinely cares about him. And Eiji, while being the classic clueless guy, starts to notice the real Rin behind all her performances. Their dynamic is what keeps you hooked— both the comedy and the underlying sweetness. The voice acting really stands out here. Rin’s VA, Saori Hayami, nails every one of her fake personas, making each "role" feel distinct while keeping Rin’s core personality intact. It adds so much charm to her antics. And the animation captures every comedic beat and emotional moment perfectly, it’s vibrant but never over-the-top. Even the little things, like Eiji’s reactions or Rin breaking character, feel so genuine. What I love most is how it balances being light and fun with these deeper, more intimate moments between the two. It’s not just about laughs; you can feel the connection growing with every episode. It’s one of those shows where you can’t help but smile the whole time. Definitely a solid 10/10 for me.

Definitely a smooth slice-of-life/romance anime. The romantic plot doesn't have much complexity or development, so if you're looking for deep romantic progression, I wouldn't recommend this anime. Each episode is incredibly soothing and relaxing—it's the good anime to watch after a long, tiring day. The story is unique but somewhat predictable. For me, this isn’t an issue because I enjoy this type of genre. The art style and character design aren't particularly original, but they fit perfectly for a school-themed anime. I did feel the lack of good supporting characters, as they all seemed fairly average to me. So, if you're looking for a light anime to relax without having to think too much, I highly recommend this one

Aaah pseudo harem, sweet romcom anime, interactions that make us misbehave, the story is light and easy to follow and the conversation that flows and is not forced is what I like, and what can give that feel is also in this anime, I think this is an ordinary romcom anime, it turns out to be more than that, leave aside the visuals that are not as good as other anime this season, but the light story and their cute interactions always keep me entertained. I want to give a rating of 7 not so, this anime deserves a rating of 8 from me, because the last episode made me feel mixed, happy, sad, confused, but behind the ordinary visuals there is a story that is not extraordinary but keeps me entertained, an ending that is okay for season 1, I like it, I am entertained and this anime is worth it for a distraction, that's all from me, maybe you can correct or add, I want to watch other anime ciao.

For me this anime is one of the best 12 episode romance anime, because the hole story is so beautiful, the couple is too cute together and the ending is perfect. Another think is that the anime only shows us the love life of the two and how they become a couple, there not many side characters and the few of them are not so important for the love life of this two. The Art Style is also very beautiful and the story is also funny, because the fact that it is a harem with only one girl and how she acts like there were more girls. I would fully recommend this if you like romance anime or wholesome anime.

One of the most wholesome things you can watch or read! The anime did really well, having a really intimate song for an opening that I say is worth a listen to and understanding, and the voice actor did well with the multitude of voices to play Rin and her characters. Despite the title being, "Pseudo Harem," the key aspect is, "a story." This was how the show began and how it ends, even being mentioned in the episode titles and their dialogues. I have to mention this because I've seen someone say that towards the ending, it diminishes what this show is about, which I feel it doesn't because it was a fitting conclusion to their story of a pseudo harem, this was just a chapter of their lives. In fact, the ending basically gave us the start of a new story. If you've made it this far, whether you have seen the title or not, I really wish we can somehow contact the author because I would die for anything about these two. Show us their new story! I don't care if it's just 1 page or a promotional art, I really love how Rin is so dedicated to Eiji, it's so wholesome. Petition for the mangaka to get a twitter account please! Some mangakas with twitter would sometimes post soome stuff of their characters. Maybe make a continuation like Takagi-san or Seki-kun! I would even pay to ask the author to consider, hust to get the idea across. Unfortunately, the anime may have been overshadowed by Alya, so this may be a hidden gem. If you like Alya being Russian, you should like Rin voicing a psuedo harem.
