Bucchigiri?!
ぶっちぎり?!

Everything had SO MUCH potential , but as many said before me, the MC is SO unlikeable I really wished he had just died episode 1. 1. he has no personality or redeeming qualities - all he cares about is having sex, not his childhood friend who did nothing wrong and keeps trying to be with him even tho the MC was a shitty friend, not his mom who just tries her best to support him while he takes her for granted 2. Every time something happens he gets scared and runs away, just to come back if someone tells him girls will think he's cool 3. He's extremely stupid... like i get that he's a child but I've seen rats with more intelligence than him... 4. The only reason he's relevant is cuz he has that Honki ghost inside of him (which he randomly got) that gives him power, he doesn't deserve it nor does he uses it for anything other than trying to get laid... The animation, the fights, the rest of the cast - everything is alright, but the MC alone is so bad i couldn't bare to finish the anime

The Good: Great anime with solid animation, strong character designs, and some genuinely fun fight scenes. And… that’s pretty much it. The Bad: The main character might genuinely be one of the worst MCs ever written and might legitimately hold the world record for being one of the most unbearable protagonists in anime history. He’s painfully boring, spineless, cowardly, and unbearably annoying. Every time he opens his mouth, pure garbage comes out. He has a one-sided crush on a girl who treats him like garbage and only uses him to make her biological brother jealous, (because yes, apparently she’s in love with her own sibling… gross). Even after realizing this, he’s somehow happy just because a girl acknowledged his existence. Peak ultrasimp behavior. He constantly runs from fights because he needs to shit himself, panics over nothing, and repeatedly betrays his own childhood friend for a girl who doesn’t even like him. There are unpopular protagonists, and then there’s this guy. He has zero redeeming qualities, no growth, no depth, nothing interesting at all. Just a reluctant, useless simp of an MC dragging the show down. The Only Saving Grace: The side characters. They actually add some life and interest to the story. Ironically, his childhood friend would’ve made a far more compelling main character than the one we got.

This took me a year to finish. Unfortunately, I think that says it all when it comes to my views on Bucchigiri?! I started this when it first came out, but got bored. I decided to finish it when I learned that it was nominated for best Original anime at the Crunchyroll awards. I'm glad I got the chance to finish the show, but it was disappointing mess. This is very much a character driven story. The plot isn't really relevant, it's the characters that make you want to watch the show. The problem I have is that I don't really like anyone. The three characters that really matter are Arajin, our MC, Senya, the Majinn possessing Arajin and Matakara, Arajin's childhood friend. Everyone else is a one dimensional mess that's not worth mentioning. Out of the three mentioned above, and this is going to be an unpopular opinion, I actually think Matakara was the least developed and most annoying. While not one dimensional like the rest of the cast, his characterizations didn't feel natural. He also placed Arajin on a pedestal, so he comes off as someone who is idealistic, but also annoying. Meanwhile, Arajin has some past trauma and doesn't want to be seen as a hero when he's not. This is something Matakara doesn't understand and keeps ignoring for the sake of his own dreams and desires. It makes the dynamic of the two tense, which is fine. It's just that there's no real change or growth from either of them until the end. And I literally mean until the end. Arajin is a flawed character who doesn't want to fight or be in gangs. He just wants to lose his virginity and have a normal high school life. But because he's in the world of Bucchigiri?!, he stands out like a sore thumb. He also has trauma when it comes to fighting and Matakara, but because the story is about teen gang fighting, he gets roped into that world whether he wants to or not. His dynamic with Senya was actually fun. They're opposites who get along at the end of the day. Unexpected friendship. Senya also understands Arajin more than Matakara and doesn't put him on a pedestal. Both call each other out which is something Arajin doesn't have with the other characters. Sure the others call out Arajin, but they all do it in a way that erases Arajin as a person. They all just want him to fight or fix things he doesn't want to be involved in. Senya doesn't do this (he does want Arajin to fight, but it feels different) and that's why his relationship with Arajin comes off as the better one on the show. As for the rest of the show, I felt like the comedy bits were stale and the serious bits were overly serious. Things dragged on for no real reason and the resolution was too quick. I did like some of the director's other works, but this one was a miss for me. It had potential, but the characters deserved more.

Bucchigiri!? starts out as an explosion of energy: vibrant colors, exaggerated style and an atmosphere that promises pure chaos combined with comedy and street fighting. At first glance, it seems like the kind of anime that doesn't want to be taken too seriously... but at the same time tries to deliver more than that. The story follows a fairly classic structure, with rivalries between Gangs, alliances and conflicts, but it is supported by a very expressive visual style and well-made action scenes The supporting characters are surprisingly solid and often more interesting than the protagonist. They have much more interesting and deep stories than the MC, they become a main reason to watch the series Even so, the anime manages to remain entertaining thanks to its style and energy. It is not a deep story or one that aims to reinvent the genre but it doesn't even try Overall, Bucchigiri!? It's an anime that offers short-term entertainment, but can lose important points because of the protagonist and his decisions. For those looking for fast-paced action and an unusual style, it's worth a try, but expectations should be kept at a moderate level.

I wanted to like this, but honestly Mahoro kinda makes it hard. She’s always taking advantage of Arajin liking her and treats him pretty badly, while she’s still totally hung up on her brother. And Arajin just keeps chasing after her even though she’s clearly not interested, which makes him come off kinda annoying and a little pathetic at times. It also sucks how he kind of ignores Matakara, who actually seems like a real friend, so that whole dynamic gets frustrating. It’s not all bad though. The animation looks really nice, smooth, and colorful and the music is probably one of the best parts. The fights are fun to watch too when they happen, even if they feel a bit short sometimes. But yeah, Mahoro’s behavior and Arajin constantly simping for her kinda dragged the whole thing down for me.

Genuinely never felt so strongly about something to the point where i had to write a review but this anime is different. The art style and setting were honestly interesting but the story and characters were the big downfall (mostly the characters) and the main reason i’m writing this is because of the main character. He's the biggest simp in anime and would probably give up everything to be with a girl who is pretty obviously a bad person. And you would think that would change as the character grows. But you would be wrong, actually, he never changes accept maybe for the last episode. The side characters are mostly forgettable accept for the guy that used to be his friend which i genuinely liked but the mc took every opportunity to shit on for a reason i don’t really remember and one that probably wasn’t that serious. Really all i have to say is that the mc and every choice he made was so bad that he himself was the reason my rating was so low and the only reason i didn’t give it a 1 is because of the final episode which was pretty good but was kind of out of nowhere because his character actually changed a little bit. Theres some other good things about this show but the mc really ruins it all to a point where nothing accept for changing the mc would warrant a positive review.

I was actually liking the show but one thing ruined it for me, Anajin, the MC! He is so unbearable, just so incredibly irritating to an almost impressively degree. All this kid does is be a sulky emo jerk to the nicest character in the show. Like we get it, you are projecting your self loathing onto him but....for 12 episodes? He had no, absolutely no character development. He is so desperate for a gf that he completely ignores clear as day signs that a girl doesn't like him and in all likelihood hates you because you are not her brother. He is so mind numbingly selfish and self centered. I have no idea why anyone thought having someone like that as the MC was a good idea, let alone to adapt that into an anime. All the other characters are why this is even getting a 5.They definitely carry the show .

The character development is weak and terrible its just a horny boy thats using the fact he wants to lose his virginity to get stronger i thought it would get better towards the end but low and behold the "Lose my virginity" bit went on WAY to long. The fighting is good, i wouldn't call it anything unique or mind blowing but its not terrible to bad the action gets overshadowed by lame comedy and uninteresting characters Lastly The story is very predictable right from the start besides the bad comedy and mid tier action scenes it was pretty obvious what the end fight scene would be and why, all in all its just a generic comedy action anime with no real uniqueness besides the spiritual wishes and even that addition didn't help make it more interesting.. i wouldn't recommend personally but perhaps Hand to hand combat is something you like this has a fair share..

It's not the worst series I've watched, but after seeing it all I understood why this had such poor ratings. The main character is a dumb prick who only cares about losing his virginity (literally) and half of the show is pretty much dedicated to him trying to "win" the girl over, no plot no nothing. The rest of the characters are far more interesting than the actual main. Close to the ending things start to get so interesting that if we were to pretend the other chapters didn't exist and this was the actual beginning, this show would be so much better in comparison. The animation quality is great and so is the music, but that's not enough to boost my opinion of the series as a whole.

Very average anime. Episodes 1-2 were good and I thought it would develop into an excellent anime. Overall the main character is annoying and creepy. That were the hardest mc for me to watch ever... And To call it Arajin FR?! The story is good but too many irrelevant characters with no background story at all. The only thing I really liked was the opening song which was excellent. Everything else is very messy and average. The pace of the plot is average. Everything is very AVG. Would I see it again? - No Will I watch a second season if it comes out? - Yes, I think so.. Score 5 out of 10 Very mixed feelings.
