This Anime has made me realise, how great it is to be in love. I like how the beginning shows the viewer, the difficulties when you like the same gender. But that didn't stop Adachi. As far as he tried to deny Kurosawa's genuine feelings, in the end he couldn't. The anime conveys their feelings in such a lovely way, you get butterflies from just watching!!! Even the little substory is as realistic as it can be. The way the characters act makes my heart melt. If you need to watch a heart-warming romance anime, that potrays same gender love in their own, joyful way, this anime is for you! <3

30-sai made Doutei dato Mahoutsukai ni Nareru Rashii it's different from what I usually watch. It's interesting but at the same time kinda boring. The characters aren't that well developed and the sinergy between then are kinda off. In my opinion the support characters are more interesting than the main characters. That point, for itself is a huge red flag for the anime. Besides the supernatural thing, the story don't bring anything new, it's just the same old story with the same old characters (personality). The anime can really catch you in the 1st episode, but that's it. From that point it's a downhill that recovers a little with the support characters and once again goes down.

If this premise was slapped on to a straight romance, it would do INSANE numbers here, since mature office romances have been taking off. But na, it's gay and people's interest wanes. It's basically My New Boss is Goofy if they actually leaned on the gay subtext and developed it into a full fledged romance. This anime really belongs in the BL elites, having NO red flags, dubious situations with consent, or weird power dynamics between the characters, which in BL are rooted in gender roles they slap onto the femenine and dominant guy. Both of them have their strengths and weaknesses and constantly lean into each other to solve the conflicting situations they're put in. We don't have long drawn out arguments or misunderstandings, and they're very assertive in how they deal with them. There's only one main con, but I'm willing to overlook it, and it's that sometimes the animation/drawings are a bit inconsistent, but it's BL so it probably didn't have much budget. But thanks to the stellar voice acting and overall sound design and ambiance, it's still a very immersive experience and I don't think it takes away from my personal enjoyment. Overall, this is one of my favorite romance anime in general, and one of the few ones that gets a satisfactory ending. Very rarely do we get to see anime couples beyond their confession and first kiss, and we get a bunch of their interactions and conflicts past those events. It's just very cute with a healthy dynamic. A feels-good watch and I'll never forget how gushy I felt every week while this aired, just squealing in excitement from all the developments and heartwarming moments. I'd say definitely give this anime a shot if you want a goofy but cute take on the office romance trope.

Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?! Is about a man who started to read people’s mind because he’s still virgin at 30 years old and with this ability he learns that the ultra handsome, talented, funny, hard working colleague is ready in love with him on a crazy level. We watch him try to understand he’s feeling and situations that happens because he can read minds. Where do I begin…I was actually excited for this one because for a reason Imost yaoi that gets adapted are bad somehow the studios choose the worst option possible. They have very problematic age gaps, strange relationships, power imbalances are grape/sa. So when a healthy looking Yaoi start to airing I’m excited. Sadly it didn’t work as I want in this one. Btw it’s a healthy there is no problem surrounding it. I just didn’t like the couple. So what is my problem? It’s the chemistry. I didn’t feel it and because it’s a romance anime it’s the most important think for me. There were moments when I was happy for them and find cute but overall I just don’t feel it. Adachi is a 30 years old man who is working in a company he’s not the best looking or most interesting person according to him and he’s not lucky about relationships at all. On other hand we have Kurosawa a literal dream. Perfect at everything. Handsome, tall etc. So it’s an opposite attract couple. I think the main problem for me was lack of the communication even with mind reading somehow and in some point I was really not sure if Adachi has feelings for Kurosawa or he just love being loved and the anime didn’t give me enough think for a good amount of time to erase my thought. Which is become a problem for me now. There were situations which can be solved a lot of easier which I didn’t understand why even were problem or in opposite things that can talk and shown more for me. In overall I find them cute but not enough. This anime has a second couple too. Tsuga who is best friend of Adachi from university and Minato a courier who brings cargo to Tsuga’s house. This couple has an age gap but because both of them adult and I don’t care for me it’s not a problem . If I’m not wrong it’s 22 - 30. I like their relationship more mostly we see Tsuga struggling with he’s feelings and how he want to tell Minato about them but scared. But I like how it process and where it ends (expect of one very stupid misunderstanding) very cute couple love them love the characters. Overall as a Anime even if I didn’t enjoy it too much I still think you should give a try and I really believe that most people gonna like it just not me. Let’s now talk about animation thats was definitely something…… there were moments were a main characters supposedly on screen but especially on the lest episodes I just start to think who tf is this where is main character. What happened to him. Give him back please that’s not him that’s a different man. Its definitely get worse to the end sadly. Give it a try maybe it’s a romance that you looking for

Watch literally anything else or just read the manga, because this adaptation provides nothing and the original can't be worse. This anime is so mediocre and empty that there's not even ridiculous offensiveness to laugh at, it's just bad. If you remove all the tired (and slightly creepy) cliches, which half the time don't contribute ANYTHING to the story (like the random fujoshi), there's nothing but a slideshow. The whole thing feels and looks like baby's first fanfic edit of a manga. The story itself is uninspired and most of the show drags its feet while simultaneously pulling relationship milestones out of nowhere. The main characters have more chemistry with random side characters until the very final episodes where they go from 10 to a 100. The focus on the secondary couple is also inconsistent and just gets cut off by the show ending without a proper resolution, as the final episode montages the main couples future. Every episode there is random "personal turmoil" making the MCs spiral dramatically only to be resolved within a minute and the way the relationships develop makes a romance between the viewer and their bed seem more plausible and fleshed out. This is also one of the worst works of animation I've seen. Most of the show is just still panning frames and similar budget techniques without any love for the medium while the character models have no consistency even between scenes. The designs also suffer from the weird stylisation the genre is filled with. The VA is also nothing but anime tropes, which sound 10x worse in English, some voice choices being laughably different.

I watched this show while it was airing weekly and when I tell you this show had me INSANE (in the best way possible) I mean that absolutely unironically. Genuinely had me quaking in my boots. I usually don't have any problems with waiting for episodes weekly but waiting a week for a new episode of THIS show to come out was absolutely torture in it's purest form. While I've seen quite a bit of BL anime by now, this particular series stood out to me as something truly special. A lot of anime with gay couples as the main focus are notorious for either having really uncomfortable power dynamics bordering on noncon territory, or a ridiculous amount of over the top drama and endless misunderstandings that don't get cleared up until 4 episodes later. Cherry Magic doesn't fall victim to these pitfalls, and instead presents a mostly realistic (if you ignore the whole mind reading aspect, at least) and properly paced love story that doesn't feel forced like a lot of BL series. The main couple especially is a lot of fun; Adachi and Kurosawa have this very endearing kind of chemistry that's super entertaining to watch. The side couple, Tsuge and Minato, are also very charming, and although they aren't the main focus of the story, they still get a considerable amount of screentime for their relationship to feel natural and well-developed. My one and only gripe with the series is that the animation isn't the best. It's pretty wonky often and the characters tend to look offmodel in certain scenes, especially when drawn from further away, but the series does know exactly when to use their budget. While the iffy animation was noticable at times, it wasn't distracting enough for me to take away from the enjoyment I got out of this series. All in all it was just so good to finally have an anime adaptation of a completely unproblematic BL. It's a breath of fresh air in the genre and an absolute must-watch if you're a fan of LGBT series!

I love myself a bit of 'opposites attract' so naturally I was quite drawn to this. If you're into that sort of thing then Cherry Magic is totally worth your time. The back of the manga literally says something like 'Clean-cut hottie x Virgin with self-esteem issues.' How much more 'opposites attract' can you get?! Also, the side ship follows the same formula: Cute younger, extroverted dancer with bleached hair x introverted, older, tall, dark-haired, glasses-wearing author?! Yes, please :>. Also, from what I've read of the manga so far, IMO this is a pretty good faithful adaptation with some thoughtful, well-placed anime-only additions. Overall, the entire cast and premise are fun to be with. A great watch for all fujoshi, fundanshi, and fujins alike! I also really appreciate a good story about finding love a little later in life. Workplace romances in anime generally aren't the best, so this felt like a breath of fresh air. A big theme in the latter half of this show is communication in building a relationship, and it's generally executed well. Of course, it wouldn't be anime without a few instances of grown adults communicating like teenagers, but overall, I liked it, and there wasn't anything that severely messed with my viewing experience. Overall, the premise is interesting and well-explored! Animation has its highs and lows (trust me when I say this. The highs are SUPER high, but the lows are disappointing). A lot of the budget was clearly spent on the beginning of the series and the important scenes involving Adachi and Kurosawa. Sometimes the characters can look a little stiff and facial proportions can be inconsistent, but it didn't take anything away from the series for me as I was pretty invested. It did hinder my enjoyment but ONLY A LITTLE! Also the art style is very nice and appealing! I love their lashes lol. I've never written a review, but I just had to because this series has been such a great run! Hearing the first note of that intro every week has brought me so much joy. Disappointed that there will likely be no season 2, but hey! That's what the manga's for, right?! Overall, a good series; the first half is a bit better than the second if you ask me, but that's for you to decide... Thank you to the studio for bringing this series to anime. :> hope all the hardworking people who gave us this's pillows are nice and cool for forever and ever.

Let me preface this review with one thing: I am a big fan of the slice-of-life genre, as well as romance, especially queer romance. And look, to some extent I see how I can be a little spoiled - I am into danmei, so I'm used to engaging and elaborate plots, deeper characterization, all that stuff. But this anime was just not it and I'm surprised to see how highly it's rated on here. My first complaint is that the series is a slop to get through. It is very, very boring. For the better part of the anime, there's no overarching plot, really; it's just a bunch of typical romance tropes glued together with the hope it'll stick somewhat, for better or worse. The animation is also nothing to write home about: low budget, with muddy colors and a very inconsistent art style. Some shots of Adachi have so much potential, they genuinely look good, while some others would make me laugh out because of how ugly they are. The characters aren't too annoying, so there's that, just... very mediocre and forgettable, at the end of the day. There was talk of the main character growing and developing, but my question is... when? Just having it said doesn't make it true and yeah, the anime does have an issue with telling instead of showing - or showing in the cringiest, most awkward ways. It went like this: a guy does something, the other guy thinks it's adorable, the first guy reads his thoughts and then has a 'deep' internal monologue about it. Rinse, repeat. If you want to watch a good modern BL, just opt to spend your time on Sasaki to Miyano. It's also rather fluffy and sweet, although a highschool romance instead of an office one. Still, I only pushed through this one because I'd already started it and I hate to drop things without a very good reason. But there's so much good queer media around - no need to settle for something this shallow and dull.

Besides the weird title, this is a great anime that I enjoyed quite a bit. Seeing adults in love in an office setting was refreshing compared to yet another romance set in high school. Adachi’s supernatural ability leads to some hilarious situations that are either funny, heartwarming, or both. It also sparks serious conversations about trust and their future plans. The characters have realistic expectations and talk things out like adults. I’d love to rate this even more highly, but the drawing style and animation quality are inconsistent. For example, their noses constantly change size and shape, which is distracting. There are also too many stills and panning shots for my liking. The B-plot involving the second pairing could have been handled better and had more potential, though it’s still okay to watch. The comedy is cute and doesn’t rely on loud, annoying characters like in other rom-coms I’ve seen, which is a plus. I was rooting for the main couple to get together and was rewarded with a satisfying ending. If you enjoy a nice romance anime, definitely give this one a watch!

It was really cute. After about episode 10 I began to get a little disinterested with the story but other than that I found the main couple very adorable and fun to watch interact. I thought it was funny too, the jokes were exactly up to my speed but I could see how it wouldn't land with some people. If you like wholesome BL with a healthy relationship, I'd say this is for you! The art style is very generic, the character designs don't stand out at all, which I guess makes sense for a slice of life. Though, if you want something visually appealing, this isn't it. The animation itself is eh, if I could rate that on its own, I'd give it a 4.5/10. Some scenes are higher quality though. I think the main couple handle the situations they're put in in a believable way. Though, the main protagonist is so oblivious the love interest's advances to a point that I found a little annoying. But not annoying enough that I would say it's bad. Overall, I enjoyed it and think others will too.

This is literally the happiest anime I've watched in a long time, I'm still shocked at how the last episode ended (I really wasn't expecting it to have such a happy ending). The anime is fluffy, the moments when Adachi reads Kurosawa's thoughts are always give me secondhand embarrassment, but it's with Adachi's power that the anime manages to show the part of failed communication and how insecure he feels. Despite talking so well about the subjects it addresses, it's a very simple story in itself, with a plot that I can't even tell if it really is a plot, the development focuses only on Adachi and his "boring" appearance is very romanticized (in quotes because he's always drawn beautifully).

This is a beautiful BL romance anime with a happily ever after. There are no bad episodes and the characters are well rounded. I usually dislike the ‘dumb hardworking FL’ trope and thought I would hate it in this as well even though the lead is Male. I have to say I am pleasantly surprised that they develop the character so well - starts out being under confident, but realises true potential because of his partner and becomes a better person - emotionally and in his career. It’s beautifully put together. The only reason to not rate it a perfect 10 is because of the animation. It feels a bit clunky and isn’t smooth. Otherwise, beautiful story through and through. Highly recommend watching it if you’re interested in romance HEA genre.

I'm male, watched it with my sister who loves Yaoi and Shounen ai. She said it is one of the best yaoi/shounen ai series out here, she really liked it and she watched almost every Yaoi anime in existence and read almost every Yaoi manga. What do I find good about it myself? Well, it's funny, I laughed in some episodes. Also, it has good emotional tension and not bad story writing overall. I liked the side story more than the main story, in my opinion, it's better, but I'm not the casual Yaoi watcher. In some parts, it was really hard to watch as a man, but my sister laughed her ass off at my reactions, so it was funny even for me.

ngl i was super excited for this anime & while i think the anime is a solid 7-7/5 out of 10, I feel like my expectations were super high and was not really met. Having said that, I still enjoyed the lovey-dovey couples & i have to say the 2ndlove story that was happening as far more interesting to me - it had a diverse dynamic that I would have loved to be invested in more. All in all, the ending was suuuppper cute & wholesome & I love that - that really is what has me squealing & loved that this is a full complete show in 12 eps - i don't remember the last time we had that lol. overall a 100% recommend.

I watched this anime on a whim, just something that caught my eye scrolling Crunchyroll and WOW I am blown away!! This reignited my love for BL anime. It’s the best one I have seen in an awhile. It gave me butterflies and the fujoshi euphoria that makes you excited for each episode. I was curled in a blanket, smiling harder than I have in ages just squealing to myself. It gave me the feeling that reminds me how much I love this genre. I think the story was really good. Very simple premise, simple characters, but done well. There was no crazy twists or drama to make your heart ache and it had the right amount of fluff. The story gives you what you want and wraps it up nicely. It also doesn’t take until the very end for them to get together. The side romance is also enjoyable as well but doesn’t overshadow the main storyline. It gave nice breaks to let certain scenes sink in. I also watched it in English (which I rarely do) and the English voice actors did a great job! I especially enjoyed the actor for Kurosawa. So, if you like dubs this is a good one. The only big downside for me was the art style, as a lot of other reviewers mentioned. It’s just not very consistent and sometimes a nice scene will be affected because the characters look a little wonky. Even though I was into the story enough to not mind too much, it was pretty noticeable. No, the story is not groundbreaking, the characters aren’t anything super special. But still such a great watch (: I’m excited to read the manga!

Damn, I can’t believe I was tricked into watching a fluffy BL anime version of ‘The 40-Year-Old Virgin’… and loved it. Right off the bat let me just say what originally kept me away from watching this anime for a while— The art style. It grew on me as I watched, and it’s nice, just not my thing. It’s ‘shinier’ and more modern than what I prefer. It’s almost standard, but that’s not a bad thing. I can see why I found this through TikTok-like shorts going around. The way their faces and hair are drawn took me a while to enjoy, but the personality of the show made up for it, so I didn’t mind about 2 to 3 episodes in. I like this story premise, it’s fun, quirky, and a little spicy (kinda). There’s no Toxic Yaoi™ here; Cherry Magic! is pure tooth-rotting fluff with small amounts of drama. All the characters are sweet and deserve each other. The side couple are also very nice, in fact, unlike some BL side couples, their premise/dynamic could almost serve as its own anime plot worth fully dedicated episodes. A virgin romance novelist falling for his bad-boy delivery boy? C’mon now. The pacing feels good and rewarding; being relatively fast I’d say. I watched the SUB, although I’ve seen clips and heard the DUB is silly. I have yet to read the manga (which I will). In short, I obviously recommend this anime to any BL partaker. It’s an easy and adorable watch with a happy ending!
Marza_Kawaii
The characters are so cuteeeeee. When the anime started coming out, I said, "Wow, another anime with a super strange name... I'M GOING TO WATCH IT!" and I have to admit I really liked the story. I don't regret watching it; it changed my perspective on several "adult" topics, which are a bit difficult to accept once you get older. Every chapter has a huge contagious energy. The character development is also so good. I don’t want to give you spoilers, but the last chapter is so cute that it makes me want to have a boyfriend like Kurosawa. He is so funny and he gives me golden retriever vibes, which I love. In all the story, there are super cute characters with a laugh-inducing innocence. It has romance, drama, comedy, this anime has it all. I recommend it if you want to laugh and have a good time, and if you like BL/yaoi. It also has the manga, which people says it’s better and a live action serie that I love. If you watched the anime and want more content about this beautiful relationship, go read and watch this other 2 series.

The main character, Adachi gained the ability to read minds on his 30th birthday due to still being a virgin (it sounds weird, but it's actually good just give it a chance) and when he bumps into his coworker, Kurosawa, he hears all the things he has been thinking about him and his feelings for him are revealed, of course Kurosawa doesn't figure out about his powers till later in the anime. There's another side couple Tsuge and Minato, Tsuge is a romance author and Minato is a dancer looking to go pro but working part-time with a delivery company and that's how they meet. They bond over the fact that Tsuge took in a lost cat Minato had been previously seeing on the streets. Their romance does pick up but not much is overall shown so don't get too invested in the two, seeing a spinoff with these two would honestly be great to see kinda like Sasaki and Miyano did with Hirano and Kagiura. Cherry Magic was overall pretty good, it's very wholesome and goofy at the same time since Adachi can hear alllllll of Kurosawa's thoughts and I mean all. In the beginning, the pacing is a bit slow, but things gradually pick up fast, especially in the last 2 episodes, things go by very, very fast, but honestly I think it was very well written. I would definitely recommend it overall especially if you are just getting into the romance/BL aspect of anime. It has a very happy ending where everyone is happy. The only reason I gave it a 9 instead of a 10 was because I wish we got to see more of Tsuge and Minato and I wish it was just a little longer, 12 episodes are always nice, but the end went by so fast I wish we got to see more of their relationship after the ending.

I don't usually write reviews for things I love but this show touched me. It did romance so perfectly that I have to let it out. It has wonderful pacing and shows a realistic and beautiful romance, conflicts and all. For such a silly premise the writers did a wonderful job. The couple are really fun to root for. I laughed, smiled and cried with the characters. It showed the joy of falling in love, portrayed in such a realistic and beautiful way that I yearned for that experience again myself. I loved how about half of the anime was them being together, very much a nice change of pace from most romance animes. Plus, oh my goodness they were able to put sexual intimacy in it in a way that felt like a real extension of love rather than fan service. I feel like that is rare nowadays, despite being so much better in my opinion. The conflicts aren't upsetting and don't last long, making this show very easy to watch. They don't rely on the miscommunication trope to advance the plot, which is refreshing. Plus, they avoided anything nonconsensual which unfortunately I've found is all too common in wlw and mlm animes. I am pissed off that is not the bare minimum but it's such a relief to see. Also, it isn't queerbaiting. This shit is very much gay and clear about it. I'd encourage anyone looking for a comfy romance to give this a watch, it's awesome <3

This anime, in a lovely and unique way, stands apart from BL anime, which often (though not always) romanticize problematic relationships and toxic behavior. It creates a story that feels as normal as possible, focusing on just two 30-year-old men interacting and, by chance, developing a romance. I feel the plot sets a trap, making you think it will be like all the other stories, but as you keep watching, you're surprised to find it's a very healthy relationship. I wouldn't say it's the best story ever made; it doesn't have the deepest development or the best art (there are times when the animation is a bit rough, but it's not the worst in the world), but that's the charm. It's a series to watch peacefully and simply to have a good time. I liked that this was the first BL anime I've seen, and I recommend it for a pleasant afternoon.
