honestly if you can enjoy a anime for the story its telling id say give this a watch but in the event that you need good animation to enjoy a show then this isnt for you. i personally enjoy the character design and how the mc spites alot of the people around him thats something i like in a show, as well as other characters being funny to me but other people might disagree maybe im too easy to please. in my personal experience i enjoy the show and i get some laughs out it from some scenes, i think it has potential to be good but as mentioned by other people the budget seemed to be lacking in some scenes not having much animation. i think i will still enjoy this show even though it wont be insane animation though EDIT: after watching the entire season i can say without a doubt this has been one of my favourites, the most memorable parts are when the two brothers act as if they are each other and i havent seen a concept like this used before in anime, i would definitely recommend this show to anyone looking for a short anime to watch and i hope it gets a secound season with more budget to up the quality. FINAL EDIT: forgot to mention the intro music is amazing in my opinion

Even a seasonal trash iseaki might be better than this . Hardly anything to offer except absolute boredom , finished this just because of anime ethics ( me rarely drops anime or other media ) . Only mc , king and his butler got brain rest of characters surfed along with non existent plot . The thing which I can appreciate is character and monster designs at least they haven't used cgi for monster fights . The animation is okayish , mid op ed and 2-3 likable characters . The ending revealed chances for a no potential 2nd season . To conclude, the show is terrible not enough to watch, nothing impressive. So if you want to watch a fantasy show that is somewhat of a power fantasy, then I would not recommend watching this show.

Tbh, if this anime had better animation, it would be good. You can continue watching this anime if you care more about the story than the animation. So, to start, I like how the premise begins: a prince who doesn’t want to seek attention and just wants to live a peaceful life. It seems like a cliché premise, right? Actually, no. As you continue watching the anime, the writer doesn’t reveal his true power until the end. Meanwhile, today’s anime usually rushes to reveal the MC’s true power, and people immediately praise him. But for this anime, no. And then, I like the character development in this anime. The pacing is good—not too fast and not too slow. I like how the characters interact with each other, and how their feelings and personalities slowly develop as the story progresses. You can really feel the characters being built up with each episode. Especially the MC and the heroine. I like how their interactions slowly build up their relationship throughout each episode. If this anime had gotten better animation treatment, it could have been great. But maybe the studio was lacking the budget, so this is what we got—an anime with a good story but disappointing animation. Summary: This anime has a consistent story and good character writing, but unfortunately, the animation is bad.

Hello there. In trying to keep it as short as possible, I'll just pass over the main point, so pls bear with it. Visuals. Meh. Apart from sore, very poor character design. Meh colour palette. Bad animation. A few scenes with decent cgi (normal/backdrops scenes, not those monster abominations we usually get). Horrendous 3D feel. I don't know what artist they used, but in some (actually more than some, but whatever) of the scenes, there were some "ugh" moments. The way an arm/shoulder bends. Or a character later (ep 10? maybe), sits down, legs crossed, the angle is as if we're watching from standing up. Well, her knee is higher than her chest, up to almost her collarbone. The angles keep changing, so we can see her standing normally, her knee at waist level. Or her dress (whatever that is), sometimes is over one of her legs, sometimes is completely missing. For me, that kind of detail breaks my immersion (if you will), because I start thinking "wait, is that normal? Let me check again" instead of enjoying the story. So, yeah, a lot more examples like that. Audio. Decent sound design, I guess. OK-ish VAs, Good OP and Ed, on par with this anime's vibe, decent volume balance etc. The editing was ok(?). Nothing too egregious. The pacing was meh. The world-building was lacking. The magic system very poor (both the design and the spells itself). Kinda mid (at best) production value. Now the good stuff. A boring anime. It might (a very big "might") get your attention in the first episodes, but it won't get better, it won't evolve from the "potential" your own mind might label it with. Oh, romance. Oh, comedy, Oh, another MC that wants to enjoy the easy life so he goes doing exactly the opposite. Oh, this and that. Nope. Don't bother with that mindset. The anime has a couple of decent stuff, some characters with both good character design and character traits, but thats all. Its an anime with magic, politics, twins, romance and whatever else. And yet, still boring. Do you understand? Ok, boring for me, maybe someone else can spend 4 hours in watching it, not that big of a tragedy, just don't get your hopes up. And maybe its just me (again), but a lot of annoying females. The childhood friend, the blew mauve (or whatever), the adventurer with the cap (basically the poster).... Oh, yeah. Also terrible warfare tactics. The last 2(?) episodes were truly horrendous. I'll just say: friendly fire (and being the military force they are, they should know about it), so thats NOT how you do that. Yes, I understood what the intent was, what the author (studio) tried to give us, but unfortunately it did not delivered. The story is full of plot contrivances or might even have plot holes (I haven't paid that much of an attention from a certain point on, and also I don't wanna watch it again, to check). The characters are meh, starting with the MC (the start of a character development doesn't count). Poor world-building. Poor politics thing. Poor twins trope. Etc Etc. So basically it lacks any kind of stuff to keep you glued to the screen. It gets a rating of 4. Mixed feelings. It is bad, but in the way that you'll watch and you'll forget about it. For when you scroll through the titles on MAL for something else because your main ones are on cd. Have a lovely day.

Insipid Prince is one of those trash anime that are enjoyable to watch but if you stop to inspect it, it's kind of bad The premise is fundamentally flawed as it is several people competing for the throne, including the MC who is secretly incredibly OP. The reason this does not work is because if we are to believe that three of his siblings are an existential threat to him, his twin brother, their mother and the rest of the family, then why wouldn't he act directly to resolve the issue? If his life, and the lives of everyone he cares about is on the line, you wouldn't just try and take the half-hearted measure of trying to get your twin-brother installed on the throne instead, especially when you know competing in a succession dispute makes you a target with those siblings. If he lacked power himself, then sure you could believe it, it would become the only path forward and make for a compelling series if done well. However, as it shows many a time, he is actually OP, one of the most OP characters out there, with access to magics that no one else can use. So why doesn't he just kill them? Or teleport them far outside the reaches of the Empire where return is almost impossible? It doesn't present reasons for why he can't just do these things, and that is a fundamental problem, because when you make him so staggeringly OP, there have to be reasons for why he can not do certain things. This is what we call a case of "you're not supposed to think about it" and the problem is there are many of those moments. Like with his body double, we see early on he's able to create a body double so he can 'be in the same room as Silver' yet what are the limitations on that? It seems an incredibly useful ability, but the issue I have is that there are several times when it might have been useful for him to use it later on, but it felt like it was forgotten about. But I guess that's the answer isn't it, don't think about it. Don't think about it and you'll have fun Think about it and you'll see all the holes, all the issues

This has been one of my favorites anime for this season. If you like royality/nobility genre, this one is for you. I just finished the show and this one deserves a watch. At first I thought the focus would mainly stay on one of the brother but as you go into more eps you see both have have important roles and are not just bland characters, this goes with other characters as well. Other show introduce several characters such as childhood friend or lover but never go in depth. This show tells us lore about such side characters which have major roles later on and even show small details about them which would have been usually ignored. The animation is alright, nothing insane. I liked it quite a lot because such shows don't need detailed graphics or animations, they look better with the current graphics due to their overall genre setting. The story is consistent as well, characters aren't just forgotten and are well written without no major breaks. I really like the female MC, she wasn't just some random side character and had lore behind her as well capable to do tasks which help the MC. For manga enjoyers, I would suggest you guys to read the manga in case you do not like the animation, the manga has insanely good art. Overall, it's a show worth the watch, I myself am gonna go read the manga and catch up on the leftover chapters. TLDR: Avg animation, decent/good plot and characters, read manga if you do not like the animation, its insanely well drawn.

reach my expectations which is…a very mid anime! tbh i picked this up because i read the manga a bit awhile ago. and i think the manga is better haha. the story offer nothing. the story lacks proper world building, the MC is another OP harem MC, the heroines were all shallow written, the graphics were poor, and basically just another failed fantasy anime. but i still appreciate interesting political intrigue presented in this anime. tbh i can see the potential of this being a political driven action fantasy anime with MC has double identity, but it lacks proper writing and world building…so unfortunately this was a very forgettable anime.

When there is a struggle for the throne of an empire, it is sometimes the right choice not to aim for the throne. In this show we follow the 7th prince, Arnold, and he simply doesn’t want the throne and instead tries to live a life that puts his younger brother on the throne. This gives a story that revolves around a man that is somewhat forced into a power struggle who tries to make sure the throne ends somewhere else, by almost any means necessary. For the plot of the show, it revolves around the power struggle for the throne, with each plot point having something to do with that. This is a fine anchor for the whole plot to revolve around, since it can create a lot of different situations. But the plot is faulty a bit in making it dramatic, because it does not give the feeling of possible failures, it simply feels like our main characters will win in the end. With the arcs shown, it does have some great opportunities for where missteps could have happened, but the plot just goes too much the way the main character wants. When it is for the characters, there is once again a good anchor to lean up against, which is the power struggle, but it still sometimes needs more. First, the main character is too perfect. One thing is him being talented, but he can simply solve issues too easily and lessen the impact of some of the big moments, since the risk level didn’t match what was expected. Now the side characters are somewhat mixed, with some of them being fairly well written and fairly talented, but some also seem to be too stupid to know what you would expect, which again lessens the impact the show should have. Overall, the characters have great potential, but some of them are simply not written balanced enough, and it really impacts the show. Now the animation is fine, when it comes to both the design and animation. When you watch the show, it is not very impressive in either design or animation, but it is not disappointing either. It lives up to what is needed and does not drag the show especially down, so it is fine overall. To conclude, the show is fun enough to watch, but it is nothing impressive. So if you want to watch a fantasy show that is somewhat of a power fantasy, then I would recommend watching this show. But otherwise I would look for something else.

The story about a prince that wants to have an easy life and laze around, but is actually gifted beyond measure, and because his future is in peril as he was born to be a throne candidate, he decides to support his twin brother for the throne. This story felt like it had quite a bit of ups and downs/mehs. The story is a bit unique in its elements with which is working, especially the MC which is the main focus of this anime, like him being a prince, one of the SS class adventurers that exist and his relations with the other characters and the overall context. It was quite nice to see how the MC deals with situations and the life he lives, as he is quite level headed and isn't your typical stupid MC, but sometimes the story felt a bit too rushed or just dummy for how it progresses, and I am not sure if the dummy part was because they didn't animate everything or they altered stuff. It did feel like so though. Despite all these, the story slowly grew on me to want to see where will the MC end up next, and see the next thing he does. Also, some of the characters that appear in the story did look very interesting and I would have loved to know more about them, but unfortunately, this anime kinda has all the tell tale signs of being an ad for the source material. You get just enough information to get an idea of what is happening, but nothing too deep, so you're left wondering about the contexts and get only the main plot. One thing that might not have helped this anime at all is the animation, as a lot of times it felt quite stiff, which degraded quite a bit the level of expressivity the characters show when discussing. I believe this is what led me to feel like some of the moments were a bit cringy, though fortunately there weren't that many. And let us not talk about the fights... power points and scenes that show like 10 people, only for later to find out there are actually 3.000 and still never see them... yeah, the budget for this anime was severely lacking... Story: 7 -- Quite interesting setup and MC, which slowly grows on you and makes you want to see the next event and how it is handled, as it isn't always so easily guessed, but man, some of the scenes felt a bit too dummy Art: 5 -- Low budget animations with barely any fights actually animated... Music: 7 -- Generic music for this anime Characters: 8 -- Really liked the MC, but I wished I could see more of the other characters and actually get to understand them more, as some felt too static in how they behaved and acted Enjoyment: 7 -- It was overall nice to watch, but it had its moments where it felt lacking Overall: 7 Right now it has 6.59 from 16.307 votes Ranked #7491 Popularity #3976 Members 44,630 as of 10/10/2026 I recommend this anime for those that want to see a fantasy story with interesting elements and good MC, and are okay with the animation being kinda meh.

A decent anime with an interesting premise, especially the idea of a powerful prince who doesn’t actually want the throne and prefers to stay behind the scenes. I enjoyed the political conflicts, kingdom-building elements, and the main character’s clever way of handling situations without showing his true strength. However, the pacing felt inconsistent at times, and some characters and conflicts could have been developed better. The story had potential, but I often felt like it didn't fully reach what it could have been. Overall, it was enjoyable enough to watch, but it didn't leave a strong impression on me. Hopefully, there will be improvements in the second season.
