Quick review no Spoilers Overall High 6/7 This was a slog to get through - some parts were genuinely so boring and not even fun to watch that dragged on way too long. Initially, it started off well, we thought we'd finally see some progress in the plot but nope... we're introduced to a TON of characters, without the older characters even being developed, thrown into some random arcs with only one (the wolf part) that was actually truly captivating to back to some random arc. It's all over the place and you could maybe watch half the episodes in this arc and have a solid idea of what was happening. It was still worth watching, but just no way anything above a 7 - there was little development, many episodes were downright boring, but the ones that were related to the plot were really entertaining.

The grindfest continues, but grows increasingly immersive and interesting. I was serviceably excited to resume Shangri-La Frontier, but the second season pleasantly surprised me by leaning even harder into its gamer premise. Not only did it expand on its real world component (which was always its trademark innovation) with some unique setups (unexpectedly interesting at that), but it continues to deepen the world of its eponymous frontier, with some genuinely fascinating fantasy conceits and settings. Though it ended at an awkward point, I found myself engaged by what could’ve easily been a season of mindless RPG grinding, so props where they’re due.

Just like with season 1, season 2's strongest asset is the animations and art. Good pacing is still absent. NPCs are still annoying, main character still needs to get kicked in the shins, Shangria-La Frontier developers probably eat rocks. The only good parts are when they are not playing Shangria-La Frontier... Didn't really like the way they blue-balled viewers with the promise of a game turnament only for it to be hype-bait for season 3. Hopefully the turnament will have good pacing in season 3 and not be dragged out like a certain undead cyborg ninja fight from season 1...

Shangri la frontier is by far one of the best gaming world anime out there. it blends the real-world lives of the characters with the adventures of their in-game counterparts quite well. the first season was a real treat to watch but the second season really blew it out of the water literally. story: 9/10 Characters: 8/10 animation 10/10. the introduction of the new characters spanning across multiple game worlds is refreshing especially with the Nephilim hollow short arc. the one thing i didn't like that much was how they left the season end on a big cliffhanger, but half the fun of anime is waiting for the next season to come out which is confirmed. i will note that if you want to watch this in the best possible way try watching from a VR headset if you can. this series is shaping up to be a true gaming genre classic and a lot of people can't wait to see what happens next.

A second season ,another 25 episodes. The overall quality stayed mostly the same . I do have my doubt about the animation, but i do not think it got any worse or any better. It had one peak just like last time i suppose, during the fight with the Sea king. Now..... This season story-wise dropped quite a bit. Plenty of filler content as well. The whole Robot game arc was not enitrely filler though, since those 2 fellas come in SLF to help them with another unique monster at all. But that whole GGC thing was 100% filler, since i highly doubt we'll see those usa team fellas again. Or maybe im wrong. Maybe Sylvi will get into SLF, since we got that store foreshadowing . Im not certain. But on the Rust and Mold thing... I gotta say.. The way the MC bounces off the world and the story feels far too forced. These monsters are supposed to be unique, and with a player base of 30 million most people never met them, but this MC guy fought 2 back to back heading into the third out of those seven, with basically no break in between. They are still not 1 episode monsters , wich makes it less of an issue ,but still... Doesn't this feel rushed? Cuz it really does to me. Other then that...it's still quite a solid watch. Also the humans still feel less human then the NPCS in the game. The only exception being Rei. A somewhat weaker second season, but still a pretty solid one.

** spoiler free, bief summary ** Season 2 of Shangri-La Frontier brings some solid entertainment, but it does have a few bumps along the way. One issue I had was the show jumping between multiple storylines in different games. While it doesn’t completely ruin the experience, it does pull you out of the main story flow and can be a bit jarring at times. Still, it’s not a huge deal-breaker, just a minor distraction. Some episodes definitely drag and feel a bit boring, but the episodes that hit are definitely worth it and make up for those slower moments. When it’s good, it’s really good — bringing back that hype and excitement that makes the show fun. The characters are pretty enjoyable. They’re not super deep, but they have enough personality and quirks to keep them interesting and fun to watch. They bring some lightheartedness to the story, even if their emotional range isn’t huge. Animation is solid, especially in the action scenes. It fits the game-inspired world well, and the music is decent enough — it doesn’t stand out, but it doesn’t detract from the experience either. Overall, Shangri-La Frontier Season 2 is a mixed bag. It’s definitely worth watching if you enjoyed Season 1, but it could’ve been more focused. It’s got its moments, and while some things don’t flow perfectly, it’s still a solid ride for fans of the series.
