Headhunted to Another World: From Salaryman to Big Four!
PrepToAdventure
I was expecting a bit more from this series, but it wasn't terrible. Head hunted to another world follows a salary man who solves Kingdom Management problems with corporate world solutions, and he's also a battle tactician for some reason. Plot wise I would have rather seen this one as a slow life, Nothing happens sort of series, something like farming life in another world. I also feel like when you have an older MC they're supposed to be less oblivious, especially when it comes to dealing with the opposite gender. There's little bits of world building to explain certain racial differences but nothing groundbreaking. The animation was decent. The fight scenes weren't anything to write home about, and they're usually over pretty quickly. The characters designs were good, if a little uninspired. The sound design was actually a strong point for the series. I didn't care for the opening or ending, but the background music playing during the show stood out in a good way. If you want an isekai that's not just 'MC is a teenager that has OP powers', Then give this one a watch. Just don't expect a lot out of it.
Anime-Isekai-God
People may call this mid or just another trash Isekai anime which I beg to differ with their opinion since this anime is goated. For starters I cannot express how much I am in love with this anime. Uchimura has proven himself time after time to be a badass. Even if he may look like a coward—in fact, he is one—that never stopped him from doing his mission. And the Demon King... He's a total badass; nothing more can be said. He is the GOAT, even though for the most part of the story, we have only seen him sit on his throne, which seems like a given since he's the ruler of his kingdom. But it's more than just that. He motivates and helps time after time, especially with Uchimura, given his nature. And when he shows his true power, it makes all the sense—he's just goated like that!! And the female cast are also very great characters that have shown a lot of development as they spend and learn from Uchimura. Lastly the Bartender, by far the most beloved character in this whole anime has a great choice of songs every time he makes an appearance Also great news, there's a chance this anime may receive an S2 within 3-4 years given that the anime has only covered 7 vol of the manga and there's currently 10 vols out and its still ongoing. yippee

Another season another MID-sekai. But... this anime isn't actuallly MID! It's one of the better ones and could be considered a hidden gem. The MC is a hard working corporate bro who is suffering in the face of Business Power Abuse and Ethical Dilemmas. I was sold to add this anime to my watch list upon seeing the Demon King choosing him for his "values." I have a background in Business, so to see the Demon King exclaim things like "workplace benefits," or "higher salary," struck me as..wow. With each episode, we observe the MC work to prove his worth as one of the big four in order to improve the Business Operations of the Demonic army. Without going into detail, we see various Business points with terms used which is pretty damn cool. Sure some could be basic, but seeing it in action is cooler. I remember this Isekai as better show, it left an impression and got me in support for a possible 2nd season.

This is one of those shows where you know exactly how you're going to feel about it from the title alone. While in the early episodes it manages to provide slightly more than your bog standard isekai show, by the time it settles into it's formula it merely exists as an unassuming mass among the rest of the catalog. The story follows a very average underappreciated man who is transported to another world in order to manage it's political climate. This actually manages to be relatively interesting in the first quarter as a lot of the issues he faces are compared to the many real life struggles the average office worker might face. The main highlight clearly stems from the fact that Uchimura's finally in a positive workplace rather than being regarded as yet another office drone. His efforts are appreciated and have a lasting effect on those around him. However, the show lacks handles much of this with the subtlety of a wrecking ball, as is often the case with shows like this. The point is made abundantly clear episode after episode and this ends up detracting from the greater potential of what the show could have had to offer. They could have easily pivoted into developing the greater political climate of the fantasy world in tandem with Uchimura's rise out of wageslave mentality, but instead we're left with a fairly lackluster world and basic obstacles which is disappointing. The remainder of this show is about as average as you would expect. If you imagine any show with a herbivore main character and a tsundere main heroine and a few other orbiter girls who stick to their archetypes just for good measure and you probably wouldn't come up too short of what's to offer here. Worse than not having too many notable character traits, the cast lacks chemistry. Essentially every character boils down to disrespecting Uchimura initially than, after he impresses them with some sort of application of his knowledge from the real world, they're added to his harem. While some are better than others, Sylphid was fairly entertaining and served the most greater purpose of any of the characters, the majority end up sidelined or forgettable. The antagonists equally fall victim to this mediocrity. Again, this easily could have featured a far larger scale as tensions rise between the different races, but instead the foes that they face end up being one note and generic. Rather than progressively develop on the instability in the kingdom, they focus on individual lower level threats which are usually dispersed of and never heard of after a single episode. Once again, wasted potential. There isn't much to comment on the artstyle or animation quality. This show isn't geared towards action in the first place so a lot of the stiffness is to be expected, although in the later half they do make attempts at action sequences which turn out rather slideshow esque. The artstyle is fine, the faces are rather sharp which I personally dislike but other than that it's serviceable. Nothing about it is going to blow you away but it gets the job done. Salaryman Isekai showed a decent amount of potential at the start. There were glimpses of a slightly more mature take on the isekai fantasy genre and could have easily delved deeper into the importance of a positive workplace environment, but also the geopolitical aspects of running a kingdom. However by the time it reaches it's second half it's settled into an unambitious formula that leaves very little impression on it's viewers. Neither good nor bad, it's just another serviceable show.

I’m still debating on the score, but it’s between 6-7. Salaryman ga Isekai ni Ittara Shitennou ni Natta Hanashi is an isekai done right. Uchimura was a normal salaryman in our world and was summoned by the Overlord to be one of his four captains and help him manage the kingdom. We see how Uchimura uses his knowledge from working as a salaryman to solve various problems that arise. It’s not the most original idea ever, but I think the author made it work. Uchimura is a very enjoyable character someone smart and innovative, yet in the real world, people never took him seriously and always dismissed his talents. In this new world, he finally has the chance to use them to build a strong kingdom. He’s a great MC; we get to see his emotions, worries, and how he fights through them. That makes him lovable, and I genuinely wanted to see him succeed in his new job. The other three generals Ulmandra, Genome, and Sylphid were great too. Each of them was well-written and had a real purpose in the story, rather than just existing for the MC to save them. They all have different talents, and their success depends on working together. This is something a lot of isekai ignore, making the MC some overpowered hero who saves everyone alone. But here, Uchimura needs them just as much as they need him. He isn’t strong physically and has no magic his strength is his brain, and the anime makes that clear. This isn’t a harem, by the way, or at least it doesn’t act like one—which, thankfully, works in its favor. I think forcing a harem aspect would have ruined it since it wouldn’t fit this anime. Throughout the show, we see real problems like hunger, racism, the struggles of different species living together, slavery, fraud, etc. Some of these themes were handled well, while others could have used better writing. Still, for a 12-episode isekai, I think the author did a good job. Could it have been better? Definitely. But it was solid enough. Like I said, I liked all the generals. Ulmandra is a demon with a short temper but incredible strength. She and Uchimura have great chemistry. They face conflicts in the anime, but they feel realistic, and they always try to understand each other in the end. Genome is a half-beast. Her race doesn’t have magic, but they’re great at using weapons. We don’t see much of her until later in the anime, but I liked her—she’s cute and very helpful. Sylphid is my favorite. They’re smart, cocky, and always come up with something useful for the kingdom. What didn’t I like? 1. The last episode was unnecessary I would erase it completely. 2. Some situations were too basic. A lot of normal people could figure out how to get through them, so I wanted Uchimura to face harder challenges, especially in the middle of the anime. 3. Some of the episodic villains were boring. In the end, if you like isekai and tactics/strategy, I’d give this a chance. Don’t expect the best anime you’ve ever seen, but it’s definitely enjoyable—especially considering how much garbage we get every season. Oh, and the OP was trash.

I like that in the final episode, they showed the fates of previous charactersyou can really see the effort put into it. It's the best episode so far, and that's how it should be. This episode actually raised my overall rating of the anime from a 6/10 to a solid 7. It's a nice change from the typical overpowered MCs in isekai who just spam spells left and right without much thought. Here, we get a completely different take on the genre, showing how the main character breaks free from the mental shackles of the corporation that had been exploiting him. It feels like a mix of Realist Hero and Zom 100, though of course, those anime are much better.

From one day being an unappreciated salaryman to suddenly being isekaid into another world, and being placed at the rank of general, can really do some stuff to a person's morale. In this show we follow Uchimura and often Ulmandra, who both are elite generals in the demon king's realm. We follow them as they struggle with different problems throughout the realm and its neighboring region, where the alternative skills of Uchimura might make the difference. This all gives the show some space to standout in the larger isekai scene and hopefully make it memorable. When we look at the plot, it builds up around some smaller and larger problems that have to be solved to help the characters and realm to move forward. A lot of the plotlines start out as fairly individual threads with no clear connection between them, but as the season progress do the plotlines start to connect and overlap, which helps make the whole plot feeling more connected. Where the plot starts to fall off is the pace and the lack of detail in the individual plotlines, since a lot of them feel like they could have had more time to bloom. If the plots had gotten more time to be build up and delve further into its twists and turns, would the experience have been that much greater. The characters follow a similar fate as the plot, with them in itself having a nice frame and some great potential. We see how they have their distinct personalities, personal goals and even some character progression. But because they have to keep pace with the plot does it become rushed, making the characters feel flat and leaving the viewer with a desire for more. Which feels like a real shame since it really could have helped carry the show to a new level. Animation wise the show is fairly average, there is not a clear lack of anything, but the fights are not that impressive and the most detailed animation scenes are mostly the same type of scene throughout. So its not something that sinks the show, but is not improving it either. Overall is it a show that fell short of what it could have become. It is not necessarily bad, but it is just lacking. So I would only recommend watching this if this genre is really your favorite or you need something easy to watch.
