Honestly right of the bat: Only watch this movie if you want to see the beginning of S2 earlier. It recaps S1 (and skips a lot of it, obviously, but it is a nice refresher if you don't want to rewatch the whole season) and then shows the first 2 episodes of the second season. It isn't a bad movie per se but if you have the time then watching the full first season is just a better experience and once S2 drops I don't really see a reason to watch this movie other than to get a quick refresher as to what happened in the first season. This review was written before it "aired" however we got the movie today - November 26 - here in Germany so I was already able to watch it in the cinema.

Don’t read unless you’ve watched S1. I watched the movie a day before the release. It’s a nice recap of the beginning (double dungeon incident) and how he became the “player” and the 3 essential fights of s1. Fight against the blue serpent, the group that tried to kill him 3 times and Igris fight. It skipped majority of everything else and added little details from other episodes recapping it well. Then came the first 2 episodes of S2 and it was very well animated and captivated the cinema well. Read the manga and it was adapted well.I mainly watched this to see the first two episodes of S2 but it was a well put movie mainly for additional income however I enjoyed it and Im keen to see the rest of S2. From the way the first two episodes looked it’s looking very promising. Watch it if you have time and wanna see it early and witness peak. Watched this on the 4th of December in the uk, a day before the UK release.

Objectively this movie is horrible. As someone who's read the Manhwa, light novel, and watched the s1 of the anime, I was excited to watch. I assumed this movie would be similar to the Mugen train movie from Demon Slayer. This was not the case. The movie removed any and all essential exposition. A first time viewer would not be able to understand any of the intricacies of being a Player. Overall, the movie was a simple compilation of boss fights. It completely glosses over the double dungeon and Hell's Tower. As a stand alone movie, it's the worst animated Film I've ever seen. This film was created solely for the two episodes at the end. Not Recommended for first time viewers to the title. Watch if you want a bad recap and two episodes at the end.

This is the solo leveling reawakening featuring a compilation of the first season and 2 episodes from season 2. I think this is good to watch and at least here it doesn't only show season 1 but also episodes 1 and 2 of s2. The quality compared to S1 season is much better, not only that. that they improved the quality of the animation and fixed Jin Woo's inconsistent drawing. I'm really looking forward to the second season of the series. This is highly recommended for those of you who want to see the first part of the season 2 story

Introduction: Doing a review for this movie after 2 years was truly unnecessary, but here I am. While most people watched this movie in theaters, I had watched it at home. Finding it online was quite difficult; there was a theater recording available but only the last 38 minutes. In the end, I found the full movie somewhere and watched it. The only reason I watched the movie is my habit of completing every anime I start without leaving it unfinished. I hate Solo Leveling. Summary: The first half of the movie contained a recap of Season 1. It wasn’t bad; I’ve seen much better recaps. The opening was changed — it used the same song but showed some clips from the anime. This part was nice. The second half of the movie featured the first two episodes of Season 2, which hadn’t aired yet at the time. Scoring Story: 10/1 — really bad, just the MC getting stronger Animation/Drawing: 10/9 — the only thing keeping the series alive Sound: 10/7 — it’s good but doesn’t appeal to me Characters: 10/1 Overall Enjoyment: 10/4 Conclusion If you want to watch this and can’t find it, you can message me. However, I warn you: it’s a theater recording. You can check it out if you’re a Solo Leveling fan or someone who completes every anime they watch without leaving any unfinished. Enjoyable watching...

Worth The Wait. I love the Story it's going. I think you should read the manga before you watch this Most of it won't make sense. I loved the first half of Solo Leveling because it was pretty good. Sure it's not the best tv show to ever exist. But it has a good enough story with likable characters and has a likable Main Character. And It's easy to follow along with. I think if you're looking for a fun movie to watch Give this a shot. It's enjoyable The Animation also is good. Top tier. It's like Demon Slayer Level good of Animation. The action is engaging and easy to follow with I'm excited for the second half. Hope season 2 isn't a disappointment.

It is basically a Recap of Season 1 + the 2 the early screen of the first 2 episodes of Season 2. Only really watch if you have watched Season 1 already. It skips alot from Season 1 during the recap however it is a nice refresher from what people who had already seen in Season 1. Brings out some of the strongest parts of Season 1 (Sadly does skip some great dialogue that was present in Season 1) like the fights which are still as well animated as ever and this is a great preview of Season 2 and builds great hype for the rest of the season. The only criticism I would give is that if you have never seen Season 1 already, then this would be impossible to keep up with during the recap and that this isn't really worth watching once Season 2 does air. However currently, this is still a great watch if you would like to get a headstart on Season 2, which starts airing in Winter 2025.

Saw yesterday at the cinema the film retraces the entire first season showing only 3 complete fights, then the first 2 episodes of the second season that should be released in 2025 are shown in preview. Both I and the other people in the room were slightly upset about seeing a "film" that is actually just a summary of the first season with the pieces of the anime glued together, we would have preferred to see only the first 2/3 episodes of the new season. It must be said that the facts shown in the first 2 episodes of the second season are the same as those shown in the original Manhwa and the fights are very well done.

Don’t you love it when the production company packages a long recap for your favorite Anime and brands it as a movie? I should hate this trend, but at least, at the time of release, this recap did include the first two episodes of season two which was unreleased then. I guess they had to justify paying for theater tickets somehow. It worked. This might be controversial, but I think Manhwa based Anime are easier to recap than traditional Manga counterparts. All you’d be doing is scrolling vertically to some extent, so that translates better to an animated recap I think. It’s easier to miss detail and nuance originally so recaps are swallowed easily in this context. And I, for one, hate recaps. I’m gonna let this one slide because, first, it’s season one of Solo Leveling, nothing really that exciting happened up to that point and people should as hell would want a refresher because of how atrocious a lot of viewers thought the direction was and how many characters were shown without proper time and exposition to flesh them out, and second, two early episodes of the next season at the time of release. So there was a hype preceding this. Whether season one was inferior to season two or vice versa, I’ll leave this discussion to some other time, but sure as hell the quality jump was noticeable once the two season two episodes content is shown. Overall: 7.26/10.

Pretty good anime movie, but I can imagine this not sitting right with some viewers. Half of this movie is one long recap for the first season of the show, and the other half is the first two episodes of the upcoming season. People did not like it at all when the producers of Solo Leveling spent one week giving viewers a recap instead of a new episode. Personally, I didn't care about that, but I admit that I was falling asleep during the recap. The new stuff was cool enough to keep my attention the entire time. In general, I find this to be pretty good. I like it for several reasons, but the most important one is that I think this is the perfect way to get a friend into the series, as they can get caught up right away and then get right into the next, new adventure. The animation style is crazy awesome, and even though I was falling asleep during that first half, I think I still retained most of the story, which would normally be a testament to how good the storytelling is despite the language barrier if it weren't for the fact I had seen season 1 already. I think Solo Leveling is good anime. Do watch this.
