I never leave reviews for anime, and even more rarely do I leave reviews for works in progress (I usually wait until at least the main story is complete), but here I have to make an exception. Rather than watching this “Anime,” I recommend reading the manga. It has 138 chapters in webtoon style, so it's very light reading. The animation consists only of illustrations from the webtoon, where only a few details such as mouths, eyes, hands, and arms have been animated, but very little else...and all in a “paper puppet” style. For those who have seen “Danganronpa,” it's similar in style to the executions but even less animated. Nothing can be said about the plot... it's good because it's the same as the original work, although it seems to me that some parts have been shortened, but I have to check. It's a mix of revenge, conspiracies, secrets, lies, and powers, but WITHOUT reincarnations. Applause for the voice actors... they alone deserve 10/10! The voice cast is really well chosen and they put a lot of effort into the dubbing, but that doesn't save the anime. I'll probably finish it just to see how they condensed the story... but for now, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The episode length is laughable: 14:30 minutes! But you have to subtract 1:30 for the opening + 1:30 for the ending! Basically, an episode lasts 11:30!! EDIT AFTER FINISHING THE ANIME: My opinion hasn't changed in the end. The rating remains 5 solely because of the voice actors' efforts.

Anime like this should be encouraged. The anime used moving illustrations that is manga styled (I have not read the actual manga but the style feels like it) to avoid bad quality visuals in animation. For example, instead of drawing characters with simplified visuals like a low cost anime usually does, it chose have matching visuals but reduce episode length and moving parts in the anime. This brings a very interesting approach to solving common problems in low quality anime, which the characters look nothing like in the light novel or manga, while maintaining quality of voice acting, story telling, and theme songs. (my friend said isn't this common in hxxtxi? so I told him to shut up) Would rather see animation styles like this than those rough animes.

This is the romance and fantasy anime you have to watch if you want to see a story that combines revenge and romance so well that you'll want a second season of this anime. The female protagonist acts in a realistic and coherent way as a person who was betrayed, which differentiates her from other female protagonists in this type of anime. The story is original compared to other romance anime, which gives the story a refreshing feel. The animation is different from what we're generally used to, but it's not bad. The pairing of the prince with Lua, our protagonist, is very beautiful to look at, and the soundtrack is also very good. Believe me and give this anime a chance. I assure you that if you're a lover of romance anime, you'll love it.

What in Lelouch's name is happening here? Animated wallpaper can be called an "anime" now? And people say the story is amazing? Are people again confusing the quality with the entertainment factor? And whats happening there its not even something to be called a romance yet, what are you on about? I'll try to keep it short, same as this "anime" did. LE - Warning. I couldn't. Reading this takes the same amount of time as watching the whole show :)) Visuals. The artstyle is nice. Nice designs, with sparkly, twinkling eyes. For the most part, because we also get the version with "no eyes" faces. Vibrant colour palette. Some decent cinematography. If not the framing, at least very nice when changing "the tone" of a scene. The animation.... Like I said, the animation is what you've seen (probably) a couple of years ago. Those animated wallpapers, on loop? In other words, everything looks spectacular if you keep it on pause. Oh right, now I get it. It looks very clean. Simple decorum, simple scenes, 1-3 people. Like a manga/webtoon/whatever. Small panels, you can't clutter it. But what you put in there, better be worth it. Copy/paste the scene from the manga, animate it with some soft, done. We even get dust motes sparkling in the light rays. What more do you want? :))) I'm joking, I don't know the sauce, but it would be funny if it does indeed look the same... Audio. The tracks used are decent, goes ok with the scenes. The mixing, the levels are ok. The OP is meh, it has an "auto-tune" effect on the voice. Meh visuals. The ED is better, the visuals also go better with it. The VAs did ok, I guess. I mean, there was nothing special to work with, everything followed a stereotypical role. Although, the prince felt higher (the quality), but dunno if it was the actor or something else. The pacing. Its a 10 min episode, everything feels rushed, even when nothing happens, the ED starts and you go "Already? Thats it?" World building. Not really. We get some info, here and there, but not enough. Soft magic system. Pls. I won't even... And now, the main course. Seeing as the animation was not the main focus, you will assume that the story is its forte, right? Well, the premise is interesting, but the execution? Poorly. Everything thats happening is because of plot devices, plot contrivance and plot holes. Everything just so happens. Maybe you can roll your eyes and move on. The narrative is very simple. If you feel like something might happen, it will. Not really a bad thing, just predictable and boring. And then we have the one-side characters. Everyone acts cartoonishly. Act like one (actions and VA), talk like one (the dialogue). Ok, I should mention something here. I don't know the sauce, nor am I talking japanese. Maybe the dialogue is not as bad, maybe the translator gave himself some artistic liberty. So, I'll gladly concede that. Just to make it clear, I'm talking here about 5%. The rest of the bad dialogue is supported by the visual cues, so theres no saving that. Again, not all bad, but it pushes this anime even farther from "great". So far we have 13minutes episodes, minus 3 minutes for the OP and ED, with repetitive scenes, sometimes even with full expo, simple character traits, simple and boring acts and dialogue, having mainly just a 3-4 minutes scene of "intense" interacting, usually just before the end, to act as a cliffhanger. To keep it fair, I'll mention the better parts. Starting with, the prince. Basically every scene with him in it makes you smile. The acting, the visuals, everything feels better :))) Ok, I know everything looks shiny, but with him there it looks even more. They use a soft golden colour palette every time he's charming (thats basically 70%), changed to a drab black when he's depressed or just normal stuff happening. And even his backstory is decent enough. Also, when he's on screen, she transforms (mentally) and smiles too. And yes, the chemistry is there, it is fun to watch them together. Would've loved a bit more romance, because whats here now, thats just a teaser. You can't call it a romance. Unless you're the kind that gets easily swayed. Yes, even when it starts. Looking good together doesn't by default imply romance. FFS. Is he cooking? Yes. Do we wanna see them together? Also yes. But what we have on screen is not a "romance" yet. And now the worse parts. Worse? Yep. Basically this whole story happens because things "just" keep happening and this whole chain of events keeps on going. And then we have truly horrible dialogue, with stuff like "You know that lady with white hair that you helped? Thats my grandmother". No one talks like that! The white hair is important to our main heroine (and so, to us), but she had no reason to frame it like that. Next, fodder scenes. Like, the prince says only "Shiji" and his attendant gives him the sword. Thats not the bad part, but the fact that Shiji also proceeds in explaining (with visuals) how he went to the carriage to retrieve it. What? Is he fishing for compliments? There was no need for all that! The prince told us he kept it in the carriage in case of events such as these. So, preparation. So, Shiji knew about it beforehand and it was his job. There was no need to say it, unless it was for us, the viewers. Again. And THATS the reason why those kind of scenes are sht. Or we get an almost whole episode (granted thats like 6 minutes only :)) ) of images on loop about how the beast will attack people, we even see it standing before the prince, but luckily for our heroes it waits patiently until it is his time in the limelight. So they needed even more fodder scenes? And the whole episode is very short, they could've remade it. But no. So we have scenes with the beast before the people, 4 meters avay. Then we have the prince before it. Then the beast just watches or roars menacingly and yet nothing happens until needed. Amazing quality here... What else? I think I forgot most of the things I wanted to talk about. But the main stuff to remember: very nice images, made so even more when the scene demands a super mega cute frame, interesting premise but poorly execution, plot devices and plot contrivances that help the absurd chain of events to keep happening. Aside from somewhat better 1-2 characters, no one for us to truly care about. Simple, one-faced characterizations. Predictable and boring plot points. Sometimes cringe dialogue, expo dump etc. So no, it is not great. - Le 2 hours later :)) - So thas about it. Pfew. It gets a rating of..... 4? Yeah, the images and the use of colour palette are truly good. But not recommended. Not even with the 2 hours full watching time. Apart some scenes, everything is boring, makes no sense, or makes you roll your eyes. No rewatch value. Better yet, I think searching for the source is the way to go. And maybe I'll do that. I don't know how many chapter are, if it is concluded or not, but at least we'll get more content. The artstyle feels like a korean webtoon (forgot the term, sorry), so it should be pretty easy to read. And if you spill some liquid on the screen and/or do a couple of shots before, the images will also move a bit :))))) Thats crazy talk, don't mind me :)) Have a lovely day.

It was fine, but it felt more like something from those Japanese manga channels on YouTube. That kind of animation. Those aren't classified as anime, while this one is. This is weird. The animation is basically motion graphics, where a static image of a character moves on a static background. Most of it was probably done in After Effects. The art style tries to resemble something like an oil painting, which is yet another reason why it wouldn't have worked for the traditional pose-to-pose 2D animation pipeline. The voice acting is fine, the soundtrack is also fine. Anyway, watch this if you're into the "soy" villainess kind of anime. The FL's main goal is revenge but not really... She does many bad things but only in her thoughts. She reminds me of any president from the EU – she's a "lip elephant".

Exceed my expectation! Thought it's gonna be regular revenge story but actually the story is pretty layered and with well made production too! Disclaimer this isn't your typical anime bcs it has less animation and more like a moving manga. It's a revenge story but actually the world building or lore is pretty layered and intriguing. As the story unfold many questions rises and sparks some interest. With how the anime ended, I'm hoping there'll be a sequel because the story definitely aren't finished yet. I also love the character design with the pretty dresses and details, really living that fantasy kingdom! It has decent scoring too! The score on mal are so low maybe because they expect a regular anime but turns out this one has less animation but even that i have no problem because they aren't too rigid either, actually it's making the anime more unique! Very enjoyable and entertaining, u should pick it up if you love revenge fantasy romance story!

Just to start off the animation is more similar to an animatic or a visual novel style adaptation, not a full blown, frame for frame, anime. If you are willing to look past that then you can probably enjoy it. So right off the bat, Recommended but with reservations. The 12 episodes run 15min each and honestly make for a nice brief watch. For the actual show, the story is cute, if you didn't read the blurb at the top then the country has what as known as "Saintess candidates" women, almost always from noble houses, that are able to heal injuries on others usually to their own exhaustion. The main character is one of these but her "broken" status is that she first has to transfer the injury to her own body before actually healing it away. An incident occurs where she saves the captain of the guards life which leaves her bedridden for several days and when she awakens someone else has the credit for saving him and she is chastised for things she didn't do. The other main character is the second prince of the kingdom and he offers her a chance to get back at the people who spurned her while he unravels a plot to upend the kingdom. It's not a bad story, there is some tension, some romance, and some mystery. If you can look past the animation style then it could be fun to watch along in place of or in supplement to reading the manga. It is very close to the still ongoing story so it is also easy to pick up and read where this leaves off which is around Chapter 24.

This anime is like having a top level, completely voiced, visual novel with light animation. I like letting people know who I think this anime is for and who I don't think is for so that you are not mislead by my review. This anime is for you if: * You care more about story than animation. * You enjoy Female protag - Revenge - Romance stories. * You like visual novels and/or mahnwa. * You enjoy beautiful art-styles that are outside of the pure anime style. * You appreciate the hard work that goes into putting together an anime with limited resources. * You appreciate good voice acting. This anime is NOT for you if: * Animation is the most important thing for you in an anime * Low-budget anime don't satisfy you no matter how good the story is. Now if you've read up until here I assume you believe it is for you. So here I'll tell you why I think it is. - Story-wise. It's beautifully written. There good character development and evolution. The side characters have nicely developed backstories that support their quirks and personalities. The enemies are hateful (as they should be) Even if I wish we could see a bit more into their backstories too. . The art style is something we don't often see in anime because apparently it all comes from lightly animating the Mahnwa frames. And it is beautiful. Last: - If you've ever tried to clip a video (or several) and stich it together into something good for your social media or school/work presentation. You know how much work it is to achieve what they did with the animation. If your've never tried it yourself you probably won't appreciate it but know they did a great job with the little budget they had. I totally recommend you give this anime a shot. I'm sure you'll enjoy it

I must admit that when I first saw the type of animation it had, I hesitated to watch it. But the title, the synopsis, and the fact that the genres were romance and fantasy caught my attention enough to give it a chance despite the animation. And I’m glad I did, because otherwise, I would have missed out on a really good story. First of all, it’s important to clarify that this is a LIGHT ANIME, not a full anime, and it is NOT made with AI. It simply features an animation style that’s different from the usual. From the very first episode, the story hooked me. Watching the protagonist take her pain and turn it into a reason for revenge rather than doing nothing and forgiving everything with the power of friendship, was a refreshing touch that I really enjoyed. I personally love this kind of strong female character, so seeing Lua refuse to fall into the role of a victim is something I deeply appreciate about this work. The plot itself is engaging as well, because the further you go, the more mysteries are uncovered alongside Lua and Sven, all while their romance steadily develops. As main characters, Lua and Sven play very active roles. Their personalities complement each other perfectly, and their chemistry is so strong that it makes it incredibly easy to ship them. I honestly wanted to see even more of the two together. The animation, as I mentioned, is unusual, and I feel that this was the main reason many people didn’t give it a chance. That’s a real shame, because the story is good and the protagonists are far less cliché than expected. That said, the episode length was so short that many times I felt like I had just gotten into the story when it suddenly ended. It even made it hard to believe that episode 12 was actually the last one of the season, especially with the cliffhanger they left us on. For that reason, I’m really hoping for news of a second season soon. In conclusion, With Vengeance Sincerely Your Broken Saintess delivers a very strong story and was honestly one of the shows I enjoyed the most this season. Still, it may be a little difficult to get into if you’re not a fan of unconventional animation styles. But if you can look past that, you’ll discover a compelling light anime that not only has romance, but also blends fantasy and mystery with strong characters, proving that sometimes, it’s worth taking a chance on something different.
